Well if your right and you dont play like 90% of bubba's and camp and tunnel then GREAT. Though this still doesnt fix my problem. When I play survivor 90% of my games are making the killer look bad. With great ease. And that says something about the state of killers if only the best of the best can make them viable.
Do you see insidious on that build? lol
In all seriousness though, alot of it comes down to knowing how to run different tiles, knowing how to pick your battles and having some sort of plan. Slugging also helps if the oppertunity rises. Ill gladly turn around and saw a 2nd person down rather than letting them get away because I instantly picked up the first.
Theres also tricks each killer can do mid-chase that might not be incredibly obvious, but can land you hits much faster and cut down chase times significantly.

"One thing that might be better though would just be a change to BT to be distance based rather than TR based."
This anyway, I really dont know why they never did this. Because it should not matter if this Ghostface near the Hook is in Nightshroud or not. Of if this Wraith, who only plays Wraith because he can camp, is cloaked. But for now, I would be happy with Freddy not ignoring BT, because a Ghostface can be broken out before and a Wraith needs to either Uncloak (which takes time) or can be baited into Uncloaking.
The way it currently stands makes it stronger or weaker based off the killer and their perks...which is odd. The Doc with distressing thats halfway across the map...you get BT for him. The Myers with monitor and abuse and dead rabit thats RIGHT THERE...nope...you were 7 meters away.

While I agree that your way of placing Snares is indeed better and way more interactive, all I see Freddys do nowadays is "reverse bloodlusting". Not breaking the Pallet, but running around, spamming Snares to slow the Survivor down. Fun. But I guess you are not one of those, which is cool!
@topic:
Freddy should not have the Oblivious effect. He should NOT be able to ignore BT. And he should NOT be able to be seen by asleep Survivors with Object all the time (which is the case). Those two things do not even out, because there is way more BT than Object (thankfully, already way too much annoying Object-Users out there), resulting in an unneccessary Buff.
He should not be able to ignore a Perk that is against Campers, but he should also not become a Joke vs Object-Users without any possibility to mindgame. Just remove the Oblivious effect.
Id actually be cool with this. I was doing QUITE well before that change. The change didnt make a whole lot of real difference to his gameplay, just gutted BT mostly as well as making TR based killer perks useless on Freddy (infectous fright, unnerving presence, ect).
One thing that might be better though would just be a change to BT to be distance based rather than TR based.

That's my point I shouldnt need to have to play with meta everything and top tier killers it's not fun. I should be able to play whatever killer I want with a variety of perks. The fact that from rank 10-1 is a death sentence if you dont run ruin showcases an imbalance
This was my build and preferred addons that I was using to play at red ranks and did QUITE well with.

I legit lost a match because of this problem, they were uninjured and that grab would have bought me lots of time to use Pop or get someone off a Gen but because it was late in the match losing that one chase cost me the whole thing.
Think it was a video of Otz's where he was stuck infront of a locker due to a failed locker grab. The survivor was long gone and he was just staring at the locker for like 30 seconds, stuck in place.

So moonwalking as m1 killer at some walls when survivors cannot see the killer is not mindgame too? The information you get is 0 too
The information is limited, but not 0. Typically as a survivor, you would just choose to keep a safer distance from blindspots allowing you time to react when you see the killers model instead of their redlight. The killer would still benefit from doing their trick, due to the survivor not getting as much of a heads up and getting less distance.
-
Last month I played mostly Bubba...without ruin, and still managed to hit rank 3. With the average kills I was getting, shouldve been higher but...chainsaw downs screw you on chaser emblem. I have a really hard time taking posts like this seriously anymore.

It's just like when you grab someone and the animation just stops and they get away or when you kick a Gen and you have to hold it for a very long time. I think Clown had a similar issue like this with his bottles but they fixed it, it really sucks that Pig keeps getting the short end of the stick.
The grab thing is particularly annoying when your stuck there. You SHOULDVE gotten a hook, or at least a hit...but instead, they're long gone uninjured, and your holding your hand over a gen...

It wastes no time since Freddy doesn't suffer any penalty while placing them , he doesn't need to collect them either .
He has to walk to the spots to place them. Typically its good to place the snares ahead of time (even if just afew seconds ahead of time) and try to herd a survivor into them to get use, rather than just running after the survivor and leaving a trial of snares behind you. While I agree that the BT thing is BS, and would gladly agree that something about it SHOULD be done... I just disagree with your method, which would greatly affect him outside of your BT situation.

So you only use her power for travelling the maps? If her power doesn't grant her any advantage during chase, like legion ff on already deep wound survivors, why use it?
that 176 speed isnt anything to laugh at in chase either though. Its not like she moves at 110 speed while phasing mid chase, 176 speed can easily be used to catch a survivor who leaves a pallet.
-
@OmegaXII said:
People seem to misunderstand the meaning of "mindgame" and "guessing"
When you play against spirit, you see her standing still, you starts to think and predict. The moment you start thinking has already made the scenario mindgame, not guessing. You make your choice about what you want to do based on the situation and other factors.
If it is guessing, you should not think, and simply do whatever you want with no logical reason. That's what called guessing. Clearly nobody does this, because you have a good brain and mind to make the choice that you think it's the best.
I know spirit has many clues that can tell what you're doing. But that's exactly her main power, to give her some advantages by eliminate some mindgames survivors try to do in some situation. Otherwise if her power doesn't give her any advantage over survivors, why should you using it?
Pretty sure the 176% movement speed it gives would still be a good reason to use the power, lol.

Survivors passively fall asleep in 30 sec , I can't see how it could hurt Freddy besides hard camping .
p.s. to teleport you don't need sleeping survivors (I know about cooldown boost) , you can also place snares/pallets without sleeping survivors. Your argument about 'preventing from using power' is just a biased bs .
it takes 60 to passively fall asleep, 90 if they woke up via alarm clock. My arguement about his power was due to awake survivors not interacting with the snares or pallets you place...it doesnt affect them. Yes he can place them, but its a waste of time if the survivor can just walk through the snares unaffected.

I always find it hilarious when I get matched vs. a group of survivors who do this.
I had a game the other day where I hooked someone right next to my Ruin totem; I was actually annoyed at first because I figured I had just made a big mistake hooking them there. But the entire team just swarmed it until they were all dead. They could not just leave it alone.
I kept getting people running around shack, where I had their teammate hooked in the basement... Or constantly hanging around to try flashlight saves.

It's actually I believe 25% if I recall. The two I really run on him is either nancy's masterpiece and jump rope. Sometimes pill bottle. However I feel like Freddy is the strongest with the power up to port to gens and kick them..even to mind game them. My concern is the day that Dying light, thano become nerfed due to the strength of them together. Unless however they make it to where they don't stack together. I really honestly don't think thano needs a nerf due to it being easily countered by healing or someone dies on hook.
Its not, its 12%. Its 3% per sleeping survivor, which makes 12% if all 4 are asleep.
-
@Hex_KillerMainBTW said:
@LordGlint I've definitely had games playing as survivor where the killer would want to extend the game as long as possible. It's really not fun at all. 10 minute games are the best and if you somehow extend the game beyond that without doing all the add-ons and perks to slow it down, must either be putting a lot of pressure or toying with them. The games I like most last maybe 5-10 minutes long. I just don't think that any of his add ons that slow the progression of gens, healing, sabotaging should stack.
in all fairness, the numbers on those addons dont actually do much. The swingchains at their most potent (all 4 survivors asleep) is only a 12% slow, which adds less than 10 seconds to a gen if you choose to not wake up. For healing time, your looking at less than 2 seconds of extra healing.
His addons are at a spot where quite afew of em pretty much do the same thing, or are borderline useless (looking at you Z block). His rope addons all slow action speeds, while his dress addons further regression from failed skillchecks...aka slow the game down. Unless the Freddy chooses to use a useless addon or swap to pallets, you cant really blame him for abit of overlay THERE. I know he also has his drawing addons for faster teleport cooldown, but from my own experience...I dont find myself waiting for his cooldown much for those to be useful. Its the perks that he has more choice though, so the fact that people are choosing 4 slowdown perks is the part that I dont get.
-
@SeducedByDaemonette said:
Just make it so hitting survivor cuts down timer to fall asleep (by 33-50%) instead of putting them in dream state immediately , this way we can keep oblivious in his kit and remove BT abuse
That would be a serious blow to him beyond just the BT thing since he needs survivors to be asleep to even use his power.
-
Had a game like that earlier where I had literally the entire team constantly flocking around the hook. I have no reason to check gens if I count 4 heads in 1 spot. The game just consisted of abunch of hook trades until everyone died.

Well yeah, it would. If a triple A company came, graphics options, licensed killers, less of a grind but more to do, and better balance dbd would get crushed fast.
Couldnt you make that argument about literally ANY game? If a competitor came and just did things better, they would do better...WATCH OUT!!!

I know its marketed as a horror game, but you know it stops being that once you've pretty much seen the killers a few times. Never use "horror" as an argument for balance.
Also horror goes out the window when we have a group of angsty teens on the killer roster who can do the amazing power of running slightly faster than everyone else can walk.
-
I perfer a more balanced build than this. While this build gives you plenty of time to get kills, you couldve had abit of tracking or chase perks to make better use of the time you DO have. Do I really need to stretch the game to half an hour if I can wind things up in 10 with a well rounded build, lol?

I wrote "with it", both of them make a great combo, one tells you that a killer is watching to where you are and premonition tells you from where the killer is. But as I said, I don't use quite often.
@LordGlint if there is a wall means Myers can't stalk me so no problem... lol
@Blackowt_9120 wish I was, I suppose there are better teammates. My brother keeps DC'ing and he share his account with me so... no, I can reach 13 rank as low before my brother comes and I start from 18 again. Trying to fullfil the tomes gets really hard with 17 rank teammates and I like the lore so I try to fullfil it.
It's not JUST a perk for Myers though. Like I had said before, thisll let you know if a nurse is blinking to your location or just blinking around your general area. You have enough information to know when your good to crank out gens vs when you ACTUALLY have the killers attention.

I never said they did, I don't really know quite what you are trying to get accross here.
My original response you first quoted was about those skins that aren't being released due to some saying its unfair we get some but not them all.
The bloodletting was one which was stated and it was of course tied to a limited time offer if you bought something from the bhvr store and possibly some of the reasoning it's not part of it.
For the record I am all for them releasing the skins they are and think it's a great move by them as they could easily have sold them on the store.
Do you know where it was stated that Bloodletting was exclusive to that? Im not saying your wrong or anything, Im just not super familiar with all these promotions.
-
I always like whispers on her. The fact that you can rule out large areas of the map without actually GOING there is pretty nice considering how slow she is. Whispers will generally let you find someone within 15 seconds of the game starting.

Yeah, why spirit gets change before doc's buff? I though devs promise after nurse change, doc is the next
Because more people have to deal with playing against Spirit than playing AS Doc. If you dont like Doc, you have the choice of picking someone else, but people playing AGAINST Spirit dont have the choice of picking another opponent, bar DC of course.

I nvr thought of this *proceeds to walk up there*
Cant remember where, but I remember one of the devs stating exactly this, and using the Mount ormond example.
-
The main problem with exit gates is that youd have to account for being able to VISUALLY see both, not just the time taken to walk to both. Maps like Mount ormond for example make this particularly problematic due to the killer being able to go to the top floor of the main building and look across the map. Unless the gates spawn on completely opposite sides of the map in that sense... hed be able to keep track of both gates.
-
That would be too much unfortunately. His superior speed would allow him to follow a survivor and yank them off any window or thrown pallet theyd be forced to take. The "god window" on rancid abattoir's main building for example has a narrow pathway going to it, resulting in the survivor unable to do anything if being chased by Wraith, EXCEPT to vault that window. At this point...yoink.

Of course you can but that all depends on how you initially sold it. Most everything devalues in price from when it first came out and the price one pays doesn't mean it won't or will change to another or be given free.
But we are not discussion regular sales it's about a "limited time offer exclusive" you then have made a contract with the original vendor of the item depending on the terms of it. If it's stated as a one off and never to be seen again, won't be sold or given away by then doing so it constitutes false advertising to gain sales and breaches the original contract which can then be sued for.
If you then resell the item it again is different depending on the contract. If it was stated you can't do this to gain profit then they have a right to remove it from the account owner who bought it. Giving it away is different as you dont get any personal gain so it's a grey area even with a contract stating you can't in some countries. If they didn't state any of that then they can't as it's your property so can do what you please with it.
In the case of any of the items DBD has released, it was only implied by the playerbase that it was exclusive with the exception of console exclusive items and maybe Legacy. An example of an item that devs have ACTUALLY made the promise you mentioned would be Excalibur Prime from Warframe, where the devs there stated VERY clearly that the character and weapons would never be available again. These items given out now though dont carry any such promise.
-
@twistedmonkey said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/842118#Comment_842118
Depends on what was on offer.
Anything freely given doesn't fall under a false advertising banner as there is no actual contract and nothing is owed due to nothing being exchanged by both parties. It's a digital gift but one which can be changed, removed or given out to others at anytime which has been the case with giveaways in the past.
Now if its tied to a payment it is entirely different as you then have made a contract with said buyer.
Money changing hands is the major factor with what you can and can't do.
Even that isnt really the case. Its fully within my right to sell you something for however much the two of us agree upon, and then turn around and give an identical item away.

Mak other killers viable at rank 1 instead of nerfing good ones and you would see diversity. That is the problem. Try playing pig and 3 gens are done u till u catch a survivor. That's why you only see spirits. If you want diversity don't cry about spirit, cry about THE FACT THAT 70% OF THE KILLER ROSTER IS GARBAGE AT RANK 1
So many of the players who hit rank 1 are boosted all to hell, lol. Simple things like knowing how to run a tile and red light manipulation can make Bubba dangerous even. Relying on killers who make these skills irrelavent doesnt make the other killers garbage, it means your over reliant on a crutch that negates the need to learn the tiles.

How does "use your noggin" let me know if the nurse 20 meters away is charging that blink to come to me or charging that blink to go somewhere else when im in one of the multitude of spots where visibility is hindered? All I have to go by is the sound of the TR and the sound that she activated her power at that point. If I know shes charging her power and LOOKING at me... thats big information.

"look around" doesnt work when you have walls, lol. You dont have to be at an indoor map to be in a location where spinechill is helpful. Being inside the temple of purgation for example, spinechill will let you know when a stealth killer is coming your way, it'll let you know when a Nurse is about to Blink ontop of you as opposed to just Blinking around the temple, ect.

I hate mass slugging, it's so boring and disgusting. When I slug I only do it for 1 Survivor but if the Gens were going fast and they are pretty grouped together I might accidentally slug everyone because I'm under the assumption I'm about to lose lol At that point when I realize what I did I let someone get up so they can make a save because that's bs.
I often times do it out of convenience rather than as a goal. If I chainsaw one guy and see another nearby...might as well chainsaw HIM too. Before I know it, I have 3 ppl on the ground and saw the last guy. Might as well finish this game now.

How often do survivors immediately know where the Killer is and which direction they should run in, the moment they start hearing the terror radius? Because running in a straight line only works if you know exactly where the Nurse is, as soon as you start hearing the terror radius. And, of course, not every map lets you run in a straight line.
Its pretty easy when the killer is constantly screaming her location away, lol.

I remember being accused of deranking when I first started because of perk lvls. Started playing Bubba right off the bat, with his BBQ giving me plenty of BPs. Had him about lvl 30 something by the time I hit rank 17 or so, and was using the rank 3 versions of his 3 perks, plus I think a rank 3 NOED..
