Now you are just grasping things to argue about. That is not healthy.
Im just not seeing a problem. I dont see how the survivors actions actually affected you whether they chose to finish healing when you were away or when you were nearby, you still wouldve had to hit them 2 times. Im not trying to argue here, im just stumped on where the problem is?
-
Were any of the skins that are being given away actually labeled as exclusive, or is it just a case where they were only given out once and ppl assumed exclusivity?
Apart from that... Them giving things away is not stealing. They are not taking away from anybody.

I think there are times when it’s warranted. I rarely do this but there are situations where I have particularly when the lagging is god awful. I recently suicided in amatch where the lagging was so bad I had to run to a gen 5 times before I didn’t get sent backwards then during the chase I was sent right back in front of the killer after gaining good distance. That’s just a waste of time and I’m not sticking around for that.
Just had a similar case where 2 injured survivors were working on the boat gen on pale rose...which was the LAST gen. Went upstairs, got rubberbanded back downstairs...Went upstairs again....gen finishes in my face...FFFFUUUUUUUU

No, but you did not know that the survivor was 99 percent.
If you HAD known...would it have changed anything?

That is understandable, but imagine this: You are a killer, and find 2 survivors, 1 healthy and 1 injured. It is at a point in the match that you really need to start sacrificing survivors. You go after the injured survivor for, say 30 seconds. You both are at a loop, and you are almost right behind the survivor. You wait a tiny bit for dead hard, but instead, the survivor completes healing by tapping the button, you hit the survivor, and is basically given a sprint burst, and if you decide to continue the chase, the survivors may waste a lot of time.
Would your experience be any different if you had stumbled across 2 fully healed survivors instead? If this survivor had healed to 100 instead of 99, and finish the 1 later, would it have changed the outcome?

The problem with immersed players is that it puts an extra burden on the other survivors. Now three survivors have to deal with the chases that should be spread out over four of them, which means someone ends up getting three-hooked much quicker than they would have been if the fourth survivor would have been willing to take a chase instead of urbaning around the map.
Being immersed doesn't really help the team. If this were a 1v1 game I could see it, but it's not. It's a 4v1 game. Every second that you aren't in a chase you should be on a gen, except in edge cases. Anything else is just poor time managment and a lopsided spread of burden among the survivors, IMO.
That immersed player is wasting the killer's time by having them search for them. On the other side of that, the guy who got caught looping is using up his own teammates time by having to go for the rescue. If I can frustrate the killer by forcing him to search every nook and crany for the guy about to finish the gen in this location WITHOUT wasting my teammate's time by forcing them to come save me...shouldnt that be preferred? Me not getting hooked doesnt mean my teammates will get hooked more often.

They had to tap the gens; else crows would appear and start giving out their location.
But yeah; they held the game hostage and you could definitely report them I agree. Thing is though, nothing really comes of reports.
You can simply gesture to avoid crows. Pressing 1 or 2 to make your character point or do the come here gesture will prevent crows as well.
-
Unfortunately I dont really think its possible for a survivor to hold the game hostage by the Devs definition since you have the ability of ending the game without DCing. The only way the survivors COULD be labeled as such is if they managed to get to a location that you cant reach. This might still be labeled as griefing however since their goal was no longer to play the game, but rather to ruin your experience. The line "We wanted to make it as boring as possible for you" points to that end.

This is just me, but unless I could clearly see that the fault lies with someone else being a potato, I'm not going to assume that my death was because of someone else.
Its true that its alot harder to really pinpoint the source of Myers stalk. You dont know which of your teammates Myers just fully stalked because they were REALLY insistent on cleansing a dull totem, lol.

The thing is that when a Survivor is potato enough to feed Fragrant Tuft Myers enough to screw over your team, that is far more an issue of "potato screwed over their team" than "the add-on unfairly punishes people for mistakes someone else made".
Im not disagreeing with you. From an individual perspective though, you still get the feeling of "I died because of THAT guy" no matter if Myers uses Tuft of hair or just 99% off a teammate. Against a Ghostface, you rely on your individual skill in a chase while against a Myers, your teammate being a potato can directly affect YOU. Not saying anything about balance, just that you can feel cheated out of half of your chase time because the last guy Myers chased fed too much.

That isn't really what I'm referring to, though. I'm talking more, like, Survivor going to unhook someone without BT with Leatherface still within spitting distance.
Yes, your teammates can straight up sandbag you with ANY killer, lol. Assuming thats not the case though, Myers is one of the only killers that can make use of one chase to bolster the next chase against a completely different survivor. You could make a similar argument about Plague and Oni atm. Im not saying thats OP or anything, just that its annoying to know your chase was cut short because of the stalk they gained from the guy before you.

How is that different from one Survivor potatoing it up and making the team suffer overall in general?
Me nailing hatchet throws against your teammate isnt likely to have an effect on YOU when its time I chase YOU for example. Me getting stalk off your teammate however is likely to result in a MUCH shorter chase when I pop that 99% stalk off on you afterward. This is a rare instance where your teammates chase affects YOUR chase outside of just things like wasting pallets.

If you walk back to the hook and then go for the hooked guy a ds shouldn't be a problem
Sure, if I tunnel someone off a hook and attempt to pick them up, im asking for a DS. At that point though, Im generally not LOOKING to tunnel someone, just looking to see where their teammates could possibly be at BEFORE the unhook takes place. If theyre not on the gens, theyre likely going for that unhook. If I see both players, I'm gonna hit whichever one is closer to me. If I down the unhooked player because they were the one close, im gonna let em take a dirt nap before chasing the other. I have no problem with DS when its ACTUALLY countering tunneling. When I grab a survivor off a gen and get DSed is when its annoying.

Why are you walking back to the hook? Proximity camper?
The hook becomes an objective, just like generators. If I've already checked the gens to see theyre still sparking and not being repaired... Im gonna move onto the next objective I'm likely to see a survivor at.

Makes sense since ds got fixed as well (Kinda) enduring isnt needed to deal with it anymore i saw old builds that only ran enduring BECAUSE of ds (and the pallet thing was a bonus).
Enduring made head-on completely useless since you could get stunned, turn and hit the survivor 2 steps away.

Still, these things don't require really that much skill and assuming that all the Myers who lost with this add-on did so because they were either bad or they played against a 4 man coordinated SWF team is a really bad assumption. In my experience, solo survivors don't really have that much trouble against Infinite EW3 Myers and I agree that double stalk speed add-ons are better against good survivors.
Im not assuming the player was bad or the team was a 4 man SWAT taskforce. Im just saying Ive seen plenty of EW1 Myers who will just waltz up to a survivor at a jungle gym like he was the freaking koolaid man and completely kill the element of surprise.

oh i dont use enduring so... seems kinda dumb tbh though since wasnt it supposed to be a counter perk to ds?
Enduring USE to counter all stuns, but the devs kept having to try to balance these stuns with enduring in mind. They didnt wanna make the stun from head-on or DS be so short that they were USELESS against enduring, but didnt wanna make the base stun time super long against non-enduring users. Eventually, they just removed its effect on perk based stuns so they could adjust those stuns to an appropriate lvl across the board.

Exactly my point.
Along with the fact that just because you can counter play it doesn't make it healthy for the game. Prayer Beads has easy counters (which people constantly ignore or dismiss, despite one of those counters Spine Chill completely destroying this add-on). But that doesn't mean it should stay as it is. Tuft of Hair is the same thing.
I think you could fall into the same position against base no addons Myers though. Ppl who become idiots and let me 99% off them equally screws over the next guy I find. Im by no means saying Myers is OP or a problem, just that he DOES work off your team as a whole instead of the individual.
-
I think the problem isnt so much immersed players, but rather unproductive players. It sucks to see someone retreat to a bush everytime they hear the TR, but the doesnt mean every player that becomes a ninja with stealth perks cant also be the one busting out half the gens, or go for unhooks. While it's true that looping a killer can waste alot of their time, its also true that causing a killer to fruitlessly search an area trying to find the guy that was JUST on this 90% gen while you give em the slip.
-
@supersonic853 said:
i just down them then wait about 30 seconds depending on how long the chase was then pick them up and put them on the hook. also doc with unnerving presence or any killer with enduring says screw your ds.

??? "Dudes just an M1 killer, but because of his power..." You do realize every killer is just an M1 killer until they consider their power right
If anything, Myers would be the exception of this due to his increased base stats.

If someone just carelessly feeds you with Fragrant Tuft, that's on them for doing so, not on the add-on for being an issue.
I think @thesuicidefox 's issue is that its on a team lvl instead of an individual one. Against other killers, you as an individual can counter their powers. Against Myers, If one of your teammates doesnt counter it, you could be the one paying for it.
-
@thesuicidefox said:

Exactly. It is POSSIBLE for it to be difficult, but that requires all 4 survivors to play smart. More often that will be far from the case. It's way more likely that you will get it earlier because SOMEONE fed you. And that is beyond the control of other survivors. If some random feeds you EW I get punished for it. How is that fair?
17 seconds of stalk is not at all that much if you focus on it. I really can't believe how people can say it takes so long. It really doesn't.
On my last game with it with the survivor who gave me a full stalk right away, I managed to get the rest by about the time the 2nd gen was done after ALSO applying abit of pressure (I got afew hits in so theyd use time healing up and be less suspicious about a tuft of hair). Did bring ruin, which blew up by this point.
Im abit torn on it personally. On one end, its nice having it always up. On the other end, I could use double stalk speed addons and pop it pretty often (go from EW2 to EW3 in 3-3.5 seconds depending on the addon combo) for a minute at a time and survivors are more likely to spend time healing against that.
-
@Marcus said:

LMAO I saw plenty of solo survivors escaping agaisnt Infinite EW3 Myers. Solo survivors can do gens as fast as SWF teams, I saw plenty of solo survivors gen rushing the killer in 4-5 minutes.
"I bet these Myers you faced weren't that good". Myers even doesn't take that much skill LOL. To be a good Myers, you literally only need to know the standard killer mind games. That's all. He is not Huntress or Nurse or even Billy or Spirit in terms of skill. Survivors just need to break line of sight to deny his stalk as much as possible, while gens are popping and when he gets to EW3, just loop him and make only safe unhooks. They won everytime when they did that against him in my experience.
You are just entitled. If your team is bad, you can just as well lose to an add-onless Cannibal, so nerfing this add-on as reason for your team being incompetent is a really lame one.
Much of Myers skill comes down to knowing how to approach your target. If you're just starting the match and hear a survivor working on a gen, its often good to take the time to stalk from a direction they're less likely to suspect. Instead of coming at them directly from the middle of the map, move around them and stalk them from the outer wall, or maybe from a 2nd story window in the main building.
As far as Myers movement AFTER stalking, you can actualy get abit of an edge with Myers that you couldnt do with other killers due to his increased vault speeds, and super lunge in EW3. A survivor trying to loop you around ironworks isnt gonna get much distance with that window against a EW3 Myers. A spot where you would NORMALLY take a detour through a nearby door, might be faster to use the window with Myers.
-
For those wondering, It takes 5 seconds to leave EW1, and then an additional 12 seconds to go from EW2 to EW3 using tuft of hair and J myers memorial. It takes the equivalent of 2 full survivors worth of stalk to do this.
Did this the other day without TOO much hassle, although a large part of that is due to a survivor being completely oblivious that I managed to fully stalk them at the very beginning of the match without them moving. Ive also been at the opposite end of the spectrum however and had teams make it take forever to even get out of EW1.

We can really only go with what we see though, so she can life jeff, but the Demo ways a lot more then Jeff, plus we don't know if Nurse can even hurt people with her powers.
If she can break a pallet or a generator with one hand rather easily, I think we can assume she could put equal force onto a person. Also, the amount of effort shes applying to hoist Jeff onto a hook with her power versus the extreme concentration and backlash Eleven had to deal with... Id actually say it's fair to assume Nurse COULD at least pickup Demo if she actually concentrated, and maybe used both hands.

Maybe I should ask Almo about this, but what exactly does a charge/speed/efficiency actually mean in game. I really feel like a lot of this just is numerical "values" that actually don't clarify anything if I miss a skillcheck/have a random perk interaction with a green medkit and can't get a full heal. There may have been something with the patch notes and other changes on healing that I'm not fully informed on. What I think the Devs need to do is "fix" Pharmacy to give First/Ranger Aid kits, because emergency ones are too niche as fast heals, I'd rather have the charges than the speed.
Typically charges are used 1 charge per second. If under the effect of a perk that slows you, your charge consumption is also slowed. Coulrophobia would make it take 32 seconds to heal instead of 16, while making you use 1 charge every 2 seconds.

I'll check again, I wonder if it was Sloppy Butcher, Thanatophobia, or another perk that affected the efficiency, but it definitely has impacted Pharmacy. I genuinely can't rely on that perk for healing (for myself or teammates) anymore. I used to use it all the time and carry over my medkits consume them then nab another. That hasn't been a reliable tactic since people are now treasure diving and I can see all the chests opened in matches now. I've legit just had to bring yellow or purple medkits with add-ons and Botany Knowledge just to ensure effective healing.
Sloppy butcher and all that only affects heal times, not charges. Even if it takes 5 minutes to heal 1 health state, it's still 16 charges. The only killer perks that WOULD affect charges would be Franklin's and Overwhelming presence.

The entity didn't depower him, just focused his powers so to speak.

Thats what OP is referring to though. OP is saying the license holders are being very open right now, so now would be a good time to pitch them ideas for cosmetics so they can approve them.

Huntress. Unless you’re a 5,000 hour huntress main she’s not really the best killer and really gets hurt by lots of maps.
Everyone loves to put her very high on tier lists but against optimal teams and gens and a bad map she really, really struggles to snowball.
People put her up so high because of the potential. She has a really high skill ceiling, which makes it so it rarely feels like your being held back by the character, but rather by your own ability to land shots.

If I can start a chase with the last guy right away, dont blame me for slugging. Had a game yesterday as Myers where I had 3 ppl downed with a T3, hooked one, saw a BBQ aura and downed THAT guy 30 seconds later. Apparently downing and slugging everyone within that 60 seconds that T3 is on is too much for some people, lol. If I have no clue where to go next though...maybe BBQ will help.
-
Body blocking a hook is the better choice. Chances are, by the time the killer manages to re-down one of the injured survivors again, the other 2 had ample time to heal each other...plus you had 1 teammate cranking out gens the whole time this has been going down. The real killer is when you TRY to body block a hook, only to give the killer free hits and they get the hook anyway.
-
No matter how bad YOU think a killer is...if someone can get it to work for them, it works. Freddy was my go-to pick long before his rework when the community as a whole agreed he was the worst killer on the list. If I wanted a chance at all though when playing at rank 1...I was picking Fredward.
