  • @JESUS_CHRIST That's fine, I get it's a cult classic kinda thing, but was that first movie really enjoyable, like really, really enjoyable, like not fall asleep level enjoyable? I know it was low budget but...the second movie was much much better to me as a first time watcher. Plus now thanks to the 2nd movie, I have the right to send this scene to anyone who asks me what the first 2 evil dead movies were about 😂 (this scene alone was A+):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC_XT-HdBvE

  • I was slugging as Spirit and a guy DC.

Strangely I feel I know this person or there's a lot of them bc I play on ps4, destroyed an immersed blendette as a fresh Mikey in my early days (she hid behind rocks, wow, what a houdini!), I tried to give the last guy the hatch because he played really well, I always saw him on gens and he did really well in chases/overall, but he struggled out and ran away from the hatch so I just hooked him after and the blendette told me that they hoped my whole family dies from cancer, really actually hit me a little more realistically at the time because one of my family members did have a serious scare with cancer at the time...why do people have to be this petty over a game...

It's not bannable and glad a mod confirmed above, people are just more toxic if you do try to show mercy... and they're toxic if you don't, killer is lose/lose like that.

  • @lasombra1979 I had to get my halloween series on special order here, they don't even sell them in stores except the remakes 🤢. In my country as an entirety there isn't a lot of great places to get horror movie collections, if so they're mostly DVD and I collect on blu-ray. I managed to get the entire Nightmare on elm st collection as a box set here but like I said anything else is practically good luck, we also have evil dead 1/2 on blu ray but not 3??? I have the entire scream series on blu ray too. It's very inconsistent and mostly the older movies are harder to find without searching online and going region unlocked.

I was not even alive in the 80s so you definitely have the head start there (1997) all you horror fans make me feel like such a baby haha I'm definitely new to it but my collection is growing fast despite the lengths I have to go to get some.😂

  • Yeah I have one to play as the shape on my shape. I will ascend to the next level and become 2x shape, my addons will not be used and I will have 2x the shape's power but it will be a secret.

They are pretty weird though especially when they cost what is it like 7000 shards, mine went away over time though. I only ever got one in the bloodweb.

  • @lasombra1979 Yeah, I watched one of those 7 things you may not know about Evil dead on YT (below) I love these movie trivia kind of things. The first movie was a bit of a snooze though but the second was interesting and I've heard the 3rd is better but most horror movies complete series are hard to come by where I live. I had to watch a stream of the F13 movies online because they only sell 1 then 8, 9,10 and the remake ???

  • It's funny for me because I started playing DbD before I watched much horror (had only seen the small stuff, not much of the classics, and only really SAW, scream and texas chainsaw massacre) and Michael became one of my favourite killers to play as and I was thinking "Okay let's watch the movie to see why I like this killer so much, feels a little bad to not even see what he's from if he's a favourite" and it's just been a spiral downwards ever since. Halloween became one of my favourite movies, Michael one of my favourite characters and from there I think I've binge watched all dbd licenced killer associated movies (plus F13 even though that's not included that was an experience, not an entirely good one but an experience.) and horror movie classics in general

Evil dead being the most recent and wow, watching these movies for the first time shows some haven't aged well but Evil dead 2 was okay.

@TheShape78 Your knowledge on the franchise must be amazing, I'm fairly new to the halloween fandom in comparison but became deeply obsessed fast (I guess it's a caveat of not growing up/being of appropriate age when a lot of these movies were big, we don't talk about the rob zombie remakes in my presence though, but out of morbid curiosity I'd like to know your opinion on them, hit me up on my wall/profile to chat about anything series related so we don't mess up this thread 😊)

@Kiskashi WHAT?! NO this is AMAZING!!! I love it!!! The poses are well done, the colors are really nice and it overall looks really nice! I love it!!! Thanks for taking my idea!!!

@PhantomMask20763 Thank you, I was tempted to go back to the ghost and joey bro one you suggested because I have an idea in mind for that one, and might still do so after I finish Unnamed_Freak's one. I'm glad you like it, I just see all the flaws because this one took me a long time to finish (mostly because I wasn't feeling motivated at the time) and still didn't like the end result, it's all part of the learning process though, but knowing someone else still likes it means a lot, thank you again, and thank you for contributing to the thread 😘💖

It looks good! the only thing that seems off yo me is the bear trap and piggys head but everything else is prety ok

@28_stab_wounds I think it's more the arms/hands and heights to me, the bear trap was a hard one to place because of the table orientation, it's a hot mess but it's an experience anyway, only way to get better is to try and fail and try again. Thank you for the feedback 😘💖

    @Kiskashi

"I'm not asking for Myers' entire power to be countered. I'm asking for a direct counter to the Exposed Status Effect in the form of a Perk. Said Perk doesn't have to be remotely close to the ideas I've suggested."

If you don't see how this counteracts itself you do not understand Myers as a killer...

I don't how to explain it in a way that you'd understand, but I've certainly tried using facts to explain why Myers' power doesn't consist only of the Exposed Status Effect. I've outlined what each Tier of Myers' power does (in other posts/replies in this thread). Two, out of three Tiers, do not give Myers access to the Exposed Status Effect. If you can't accept facts, we can't have a discuss based in reality.

... your reply just smells of survivor who wants loopable M1 killers with no potential instadown. Honestly, even if it did become a thing who wouldn't run this. Because survivors can't cope with being exposed for 1 minute big deal, it's called learning the game and playing smart.

You're entitled to your own opinions. I think there would be quite a few players that wouldn't use a Perk that counters the Exposed Status Effect. You've included a reason why I think they wouldn't use the Perk. Some players might decide, that by playing smart, they could reduce the need to counter a specific Status Effect or killer Perk.

I tried to be civil with my replies but the more I read of this the more I realise you don't understand Myers or killers at all. Sorry, but it's becoming the truth. I'm starting to think you've never played Myers or any exposed killer ever.

I'm happy to hear about your efforts to keep your replies civil. Thinking that I don't understand killers at all, including Myers, may be your truth. That doesn't make it the truth. You can think whatever you'd like. That still doesn't automatically make it true.

Before anyone starts that killer main garbage I've played survivor a lot more than killer and I intensely dislike this idea because I don't struggle with exposed as a survivor in the first place, survivors don't need more second chances especially against a killer that has to work for his exposed status

I hate when this happens. I don't want people to feel like they have to preemptively defend themselves, verbally, before they've even been attacked. #BeKindToPreventFutureTraumaDrama 😥 You may not struggle with the Exposed Status Effect, but that doesn't mean we couldn't or shouldn't have a Perk that directly counters the Exposed Status Effect.

The reason people are talking about Myers is because this perk would kill nerf him, he would be worse than legion and if you don't see that... I don't know what to tell you.

I not worried about one killer being stronger or weaker than another. That's a pretty broad topic that would require using many statistics that we don't even have access to. I'm not currently willing to go down that dead end. I'm currently trying to discuss Perks that would counter the Exposed Status Effect. Also, you don't have to tell me anything you don't feel compelled to.

Please play both sides and said killers that would be impacted by this before suggesting changes, this provides some credibility to a suggested balance change, not trying to be mean, it's just easier to know when someone has experienced both sides of the game, that's where the best opinions on balance come from and a lot of people here exemplify exactly this. There's a difference between watching a Myers play and playing him yourself, the experience.

Goodness... I guess I gave you the impression that I haven't played killers before. Think what you want. Thinking something doesn't make it true. I can see why you'd deem my opinion less credible if you made the assumption that I haven't played any killers. It's not my responsibility to prevent you from making any assumptions, but I wish you wouldn't dismiss someone's suggestions based on information you don't currently know. If I were to lack experience playing as killers, which may or may not be true, that shouldn't stop me from making suggestions as they relate to survivors. The fact that I've played Dead by Daylight (as a killer, as a survivor, or as both) is the only thing you can be sure of. Rest assured, I certainly wouldn't be posting on a forum for a game I don't even play.

    😄🤨🤢🤮

Sorry you got offended by my responses but literally 90% of the people on this thread have told you why this is a bad idea, the person above gave better counters and suggestions than your simple MoM-esque one. It suggested to me that you do not play both sides (enough) if you think that a tier 2 limited Myers is viable and believing not everyone would run this perk (honestly play this - a tier 1/2 only Myers- for me at red ranks I dare you, tell me it's fun and viable). Someone can play one killer at rank 20 for one match and claim they play both sides. A new perk shouldn't completely gut an already fairly balanced killer, that's just logic. That's why MoMs being changed, because half the roster of killers are M1 killers and MoM hurts them for playing the best they can (because, wait for it, it can be abused).

Yours would do the same, a Myers works to get to tier 3, too bad get rekt noob gg ez bc I have a perk that rewards me for my mistakes. You need to consider all things when suggesting a balance changing thing such as this. How will it effect every aspect of the game and how will it be abused. Survivors shouldn't be rewarded for bad plays, I don't have a problem with exposed because I learned how to play the game by losing to exposed sometimes, adapting my strategy and moving on, getting better as a survivor, rely on a crutch perk like this and you'll never get better.

I really like this headcanon I can see pig borrowing spare parts for her RBT and them tinkering with traps and sharing ideas. Thus the serrated jaws RBT and the auto reset timer bear trap were born. (Serrated jaws sounds horrible tbh I can just imagine it causes damage even upon trying to remove it, trapper would love Pig’s auto reset traps though, such a time saver)

Anyway sorry for the long wait, I’m quite disappointed with this one to be honest, had a lot of trouble with poses etc and not happy with the overall look, I’m sorry. It’s about as done as it’s going to get though, might draw another of your ideas as a compromise *shamed* it’s all a learning process though, definitely had fun with the shading/pattern on trappers shoulders and altering the traps. I’m so sorry, this one, I’m not okay but it’s done. Might retry later. Going to go question my art life in shame now.

    @PhantomMask20763 and @28_stab_wounds

  • Yeah honestly same, I keep getting inspired by guides and posts to play new killers but I know it just means time to be a depip squad punching bag, sucks when I realise I don’t get this same apprehension before playing survivor and killer can be really fun, my first killer match of a session is usually anxiety through the roof until I prove to myself I can play well and hold my own against anyone and then I’m fine. Doesn’t exactly sound like a healthy gaming environment...

This thread is going to turn into a thread about weather or not you should use Ruin though, just you watch.

It's already started and the thread only has a handful of replies.

I guess it just came up because of discordance, such is a discussion. I don't think it will take over, I'm happy to see people suggesting strange ones like autodidact and pebble (diversion but we all know it's pebble). There are some quirky perks that are actually good.

  • @almondbutter Same tbh, I had ruin in a doctor build on Lery's the other day (old build and was playing doctor for a daily he literally has nothing better anyway haha) and it was gone in 2 seconds into the match, still wiped the floor with them because I accidentally went ninja doc (M&A and stopped going treatment because I was distracted) after driving them all mad.

  • @almondbutter I personally never use ruin either, I actually really like thanatophobia, just wish it was buffed on gen penalty (not affecting healing speed). D:DH used to be a favourite for me and still is but discordance is top for now, I can't imagine matches without that beautiful perk. I mean there's a lot of good perks, I also like M&A but discordance just helps with knowing which gens are being rushed, especially early game if they all spawn together.

I don't think ruin will be gone any time soon though, not until major changes are made, still don't think it's anyone's favourite perk, some see it more as a necessary evil. Surprised to see you choose autodidact though, why is that a favourite? I've wanted to try it out but healing builds aren't usually my thing.

  • Survivor: Alert

    Killer: Discordance

  • What makes you despise them though? It's actually good to play against a variety of killers, this is the way you learn new counters and techniques as a survivor and as a killer yourself. I personally don't like spirits conceptually to go against in a chase because there's the potential for both of us to mindgame ourselves at a loop, but this makes things interesting/different. I'd get bored if I had to play against only killers I "liked", it'd be like ignoring part of the game and the devs work into making the powers etc. (plus RIP nurse on PC people would abuse this to pick matches)

If it's the playstyle however (slugging, tunneling, camping etc) this is not a killer specific thing.

Legion is honestly trash nowadays. And this is coming from someone who really loves Legion. And misses being able to be so fast... 😪

Killer Instinct has plenty of counterplay, @Tensor . Leave the Terror Radius. Exhaustion perks. Run in a straight line. Location revealing is worthless if you can't take advantage of it.

The whole point of Killer Instinct was to help Legion do their job: spread damage quickly and efficiently. Which they struggle even MORE with because of their speed nerfs.

This is accurate, I went up against a decent legion on the weekend but every time they would get close and frenzy I could use SB to completely clear him and he'd never catch up before losing FF. If that's considered OP for an ability then...that's really sad. If survivors are all bunched together and can't outrun/loop the new grandma speed legion then the killer can't be blamed for nailing (yes they 100% must connect or they lose FF) those hits.

  • @anarchy753 said:

@ReikoMori The original "adepts" were actually just get their perks on the bloodweb and unlock their teachables, which explains why they were considered easy.

Really??? This actually explains the apt killer/survivor trophies then and the trophy rarity of the adepts, having the challenge is nice but now the pipping requirement... complete opposite to this.

Same as killers who whine about MOM, DS and Adrenaline.

    Baby Killers, one and all.

Or maybe just baby survivors have to use all of those crutch perks together. One of them (potentially +DS for tunnelers) fine, all of them with teammates all doing the same. Sure sounds fun... I'm sure they'd have the same amount of "skill" without them though, right?

I used to hate NOED when I was a baby survivor and yes that is the mentality but when you consider how fast a team can rush gens optimally against the killers best efforts, I can see why some take NOED. It's a counter to gen rush in some ways, and can be prevented by doing totems which give nice BP anyway. What's wrong with new killers who are learning using it anyway, or do you like getting stomped into the ground while learning? (using a perk that's 100% preventable by the way) I'm sure this has all been said in the previous comments, I just saw this comment and...just why do we have to keep this debate going. NOED is FINE.

NOED is not equivalent to MoM at all, nor teams all using DS, DH, adrenaline and MoM, the experiences are nowhere near the same if both are used optimally.

  • @KingB said:

Agreed 1000000%. His power isnt good enough to justify a hindrance like this.

To be fair I've made a successful hit on a survivor after weaving around a desk/corners then immediately towards the end of the swinging somehow hit a phantom corner on Lery's and went full tantrum for a bit, sometimes it doesn't even feel like I connected with the thing I supposedly ran into. Even if they reduced the time a bit at base without the addons it would be amazing.

  • @Tensor said:

Survivor are not overpowered. Spirit and Myers are. NOED is stupidly unfair

Please tell me this is a joke because I definitely got a good laugh 😂 Myers OP oh, what will they think of next...

  • @Gardenia I'm honestly thinking of finally picking up plague, nurse (console) and spirit so thanks for the tips, going to revert to a noob killer for a while while I learn like I did with LF (I'm strongest with Myers, Freddy, Hag and Wraith in that order and used to play them as a sort of "team" competitively through the ranks)

Nice, someone else who appreciates discordance :) I use it on my Mikey to control gens, track survivors who think it's smart to stay in groups/rush gens and know when to cut a chase to return to gen protection (preferably with a ready to go EW3).

I was honestly thinking of a similar playstyle with plague, utilising object infection to prevent/notify me of gen taps (but wouldn't work on already infected) etc and increased effectiveness addons . I'll definitely try corrupt, haunted and discordance together, might try out some other perks for the 4th because I'm not a massive fan of ruin personally. Thanks again for the advice and I hope she does actually get some buffs eventually though (reduced action speed/maybe exhausted or other debuffs? etc while infected and restore her charging speed)

  • I got a new plague in a survivor match the other day, I felt so bad for her, she was so cute/funny (she did the full 360 into the sky at one point) and wasn't too bad overall but she didn't understand how short the lunge is. But she did have the advantage of us having a dumb Meg, I was on a gen with another survivor and we had like 2 seconds left until it was done and a sick/broken Meg comes along and touches it for a second, we all got sick and then Meg cleansed instantly...I think we all wanted to throw Meg on a hook...

I'd like to learn her more, but her power just isn't threatening enough to me and as a result I'm not sure how she does against more skilled survivors. What builds do you use and how much success do you have through the ranks?

  • @CallMeSpidey said:

    She doesn't trust you!

People that run Self Care normally don't trust other teammates, for some reason people are bad at skill checks!

Even at high ranks, it doesn't matter.

She can do it herself, she don't need no man.

It's funny this being a joke, but I actually fear my teammates when they try to heal me especially if they run to me, like if I want to be healed at the hook (when safe) I'll stay there. Rank resets have given me extreme teammate fear. It's always dwights and claudettes too for some reason, can't hit the checks to save their my in this case lives.

Pharmacy and/or med kits for life. I give them a chance if I know they're a good teammate and we're safe but most times I'm gone. Rank is a joke anyway, I've seen a wounded/crazy Ash hide in a closet in front of a doctor at rank 8, and the doctor was rank 13. Trust no-one when it comes to healing, it's literally like go do a gen please I have a faster medkit.

  • @MrDardon said:

    At the moment I use:

    • Hex: Ruin (gen slowdown)
    • Hex: Haunted Ground (making it less possible to find Ruin instantly and also gives one hit)
    • Monitor and Abuse: (16 metre Terror Radius, even with 4.4 m/s you can catch people off guard)
    • Nurses: (With Monitor and a small Killer it's extremely good anyways and you'll get good information)

    Addons:

    • Dried Cicada
    • Dragonfly Wings

This combo pretty much allows you to travel over the whole map when someone triggers a trap. It's one of my favourites. Sometimes I use range with trap setting speed but setting speed is fast anyways so it's kinda wasted.

This is a good build, especially in regards to addons, dried cicada and rusty shackles are her best addons to me personally. Probably keep an eye on your stock of dried cicada most (don't run out) and use rusty shackles for an occasional fun sneaky trap match (gives no indication to survivors they've been triggered, can be used in a few ways)

  • @Dreamnomad said:

She should probably have let you heal her. But just to play devil's advocate for a minute, there are valid reasons to heal yourself even if another survivor is nearby. Bloodpoints for one. You don't get any bloodpoints for letting someone heal you, but you do earn bloodpoints for healing yourself.

I've had a number of instances where I am self caring and another player walks up to me so I stop healing expecting that they want to heal me. Only to have them stand around for 10 seconds with their thumb up their butt instead of healing. Or you get the occasional troll that will heal to 99% and walk off.

Strategically speaking, if you didn't waste time trying to heal her and worked a gen instead then the team would be better off too. You have to factor in travel times. Also, having a killer run into 2 survivors standing next to each other with one injured is problematic. The killer can easily down the injured survivor and then chase the one doing the healing, potentially hooking 2 survivors in close proximity to each other. That chain of events can straight up cost the whole team of survivors the entire match.

Agree with this 100% but also to add sometimes you let people heal you and they miss checks or they led tracks/ the killer directly to you. I'm definitely not for self care as it's slow as dirt, but healing yourself (preferably with a medkit in my case) is sometimes the safer option as above (plus they can do a nearby gen while you heal for 10 seconds with a kit, better than 2 wasting time healing then starting the gen.

  • @TKTK said:

I agree they should be lit when you get there effects like noed so they dont get instantly destroyed before they could even be utilized

Yes, no longer immediately impacted by bad spawns, I love this, if it is well hidden most survivors don't start looking for it until the effects start anyway. I love this 😍

  • Double windstorm wraith sounds like a blast though, the nyoom potential...

  • Double J Myers memorial would be pretty nice, 2 second stalks to Ew3, double dead rabbit w M&A basically no tier 2 radius at all with super radius at tier 3 for the infectious fright build. Sounds reasonable 😂

  • "I'm not asking for Myers' entire power to be countered. I'm asking for a direct counter to the Exposed Status Effect in the form of a Perk. Said Perk doesn't have to be remotely close to the ideas I've suggested."

The reason people are talking about Myers is because this perk would kill him, he would be worse than legion and if you don't see that... I don't know what to tell you.

  • Personally from what I've observed, I agree with most but

Rank S (top tier): Nurse, Spirit (not considering current sound issues)

Rank A (very good): Hillbilly, Hag, Shape

Rank B (good): Wraith (with addons though, otherwise below, esp windstorm and fast decloak) Huntress, Nightmare (personal opinion, I play freddy exceptionally well at most ranks compared to the below)

Rank C (average): Trapper, Doctor, Plague, Clown, Pig (would be higher if traps were more than they are now and got a crouch POV buff)

Rank D (help them): Cannibal, Legion (these need some buffs, bubba urgently)

  • You know I just really want to know what this looks like over a window vault, too bad I'll be doing it and not seeing it 😂

  • @Raccoon I got to one minute and was like okay *5 minutes remaining in clip* what the actual... why are there so many?? I do not have the willpower to watch the full clip, just why. 😂

  • @List_of_concerns when I said commit to a full chase, in terms of Michael his chase is stronger in ew3 due to the vaulting increase, chasing in tier 2 means you risk getting looped, sometimes you must consider if it’s worth the chase (safe zones or infinites) Getting a surprise exposed attack in is how his power is meant to be used, you charge it and wait strategically. Sometimes committing to a full chase isn’t smart I.e. when you know other survivors are rushing a gen w/ discordance, you can quit the chase you’re in and return with surprise ew3 to the problematic gen. Ew3 is a crucial part of Michael’s pressure, otherwise he’s a loopable, M1 killer like wraith or legion with no useful power.

  • @Keanuqwerty This is what OP was trying to say, if a killer stomps a gen (normal interaction for killer), prior to the survivors being able to continue the gen progress they must complete a small action similar to the jigsaw box bar with skill checks to stop the regression, if they fill the bar, then they continue progress rather than they can tap and it instantly can be progressed again.

I honestly can't see this leading to killers not being able to protect gens, in any case this would make a 3 gen situation difficult for survivors to deal with

  • Really? I love when streamers get the 100% meme dwight SWF (vs or with), those are beautiful things to behold. They may not do well but their constant running while looking straight up, amazing 👍️

  • I think they mean like cleansing totems, an intermediate short bar with checks to stop regression prior to continuing the gen? But if I got this right that could make gens near impossible if the killer protects them well unless it's the same bar length as a mending action (but this wouldn't require checks, maybe more like madness)?

I'm confused too, please enlighten us.

He probably saw my comment, realized this isn't the place to go talk about his ban, and retitled.

Which is good, he shouldn't be talking about bans on here, its not the correct place to do it.

You submit a ticket and take it from there to discuss it with BHVR's report team.

I know, but also why not just request a close and open a different thread? I guess it was because it was early enough on in the thread to change it but those first few comments are going to make no sense for anyone who didn't see the original post.

  • Did you re-title this thread? I know what the first 2 replies were from and then the next two just confused me then I realised. I thought I just clicked on the wrong thread 😂

  • @anarchy753 said:

Maybe Michael just shouldn't go tier 3. Yeah great, let's just remove a killer's entire power with a perk that would probably be top tier, and that should be fine for balance.

Yeah I had to admit that line made me laugh a little, basically "just don't use your power" okay then, guess I've been told. The combinations on this are crazy, I can just imagine it with MoM, DS, DH or adrenaline, any of those plus ignoring an exposed hit. It's insanity. OP is correct, a Myers can be scary in tier 2 HOWEVER, going T3 helps an already slow build killer establish pressure/regain ground lost going from tier 1-2/stalking, tier 2 limiting means you must commit to full chases and waste time from protecting gens and is only exceptionally useful on a mirror build because you have an added power, on large maps might as well never play any killer but nurse. No thanks.

If you don't believe this is a bad change get some friends or some competent survivors to play with MoM, DH, DS and adrenaline, and you play as only tier 2 myers on a large open map (where stealth can go to die sometimes) add a few classic survivor things like insta heals, flashlight saves and toolboxes for extra fun

The slug is going to have to be pretty stupid to not realize you are following his direction. Hell, I usually start crawling AWAY from the 4th Survivor if the killer stays near me.

Same, or I just move to some random spot, wait for them to look for the other survivor and try to hide and recover again (no point staying where the killer last saw you because they're baiting and teammates can sometimes sneak in a heal if you pull this off right, I also shake side to side as if shaking my head, stop immediately or spin if the killer is near me)

100% agree, hopefully with their introduction of leaderboards (which I believe they said was coming soon) it will either replace or at least revise the current ranking system.

I'm guessing it's to keep ppl investing in playing, which I understand in theory but there is a huge flaw with this ranking system. And to be reset every month with no type of incentive of reaching rank 1....it's tedious and unenjoyable for me.

Exactly, without a reward there's no point to rank reset, and that's also leading to people not bothering to pip. There's no reason to for some people. I'd prefer actual ranks based on skill/time played/devotion/experience with rewards, which would make it much nicer for people who are just getting into the game (come on the grind is already enough to scare off new players, add impossible starting matches while they're still learning and it's ridiculous) and keep people of similar skill levels together.

I can't say the amount of times I've hit rank reset and had a survivor just figure out what the run button is and throw down every single pallet when I'm nowhere near them while I'm playing Myers. In terms of skill, I know people hated the old system but I think it did a little bit of a better job overall in comparison to rank 13 being a new slaughter grounds of confusion currently.

  • It's not even just deranking on purpose though (but it does happen, there's another problem though), I personally don't play enough to rank up (because of the new pipping requirements it takes longer and I play sporadically). I was rank 1 regular on the old system but hated pipping up from 10-1 in one session. Now it almost feels overdone because newer killers actually working up and not from resets get tougher survivors and vice versa.

As an example I had rank 13 and rank 4 killer as a survivor at rank 12-10 on the weekend, there was no difference, if anything the rank 13s are more difficult to deal with (on both sides). I played as a rank 15 killer, got demolished by a rank 13 squad and then got green/purple rank potatoes the next match. It's the season reset that's not helping, I'd rather a 2-3 month reset or something to balance ranks a little better for people who don't play daily for hours, what is the point of rank reset anyway anymore?

  • Usually about 3 minutes of empty room for even 1-2 people to join, up to 5-6 for full party plus ready up. Worst was 10 minutes full waiting. This is at rank 15-13 because I just started playing post reset and only played 5 matches. Survivor is about 3-8 minutes at rank 12-10 for comparison.

    Myers is still King............Burger King.

Burger King Myers gives me an actual headache just thinking about it, like physical pain. Thanks for bringing back the horror of watching streamers play that build.😭🤢

On the note of this thread though, plague does have the style and sass of a queen. That slap after the mori tho. No question. Hag, spirit and nurse are absolutely amazing ladies (where's pig and huntress I wonder) but plague is sass queen.

Part of the core mechanics of DBD revolves around not knowing exactly how other survivors are acting in each given condition. You rely solely on your memory, wit, instinct, and experience to try to deduce not only what the killer is doing, but also other survivors. That's the main part of what makes DBD interesting. Should I go for the save, or is someone else already in position? Is the killer camping, or chasing someone who went for the save? If I don't go for the save right now, would the person on hook suicide, or would he hold on? All of these questions should be going through the survivor players' minds. People who rely on voice communication for shared information are taking away from all of that, just so that they can "win." It's pretty much like people who use anagram decoder app (or any third party apps) to get information outside of their own knowledge when playing Words With Friends or Scrabble - they take away the main enjoyment of the game for "a win."

This is actually very true, it's part of what makes survivor fun and intense, not knowing exactly what is going on but being forced to make a decision. I only play SWF with one person (but to be fair they are bad with directions and map layout anyway...)

We do actually play together without chat sometimes too, it might not change the outcome of the match much at all but it's definitely nice to return to what dbd is meant to be at base, we actually do better sometimes because we can focus. I'd still play matches with my friend even if I didn't have chat, it actually gets funnier because we use pointing or come here at each other.

  • @Chaotic_Riddle Ah so now you're at my level: despair of a uni student, welcome to true suffering. I've been a uni student for 4 years now you make me feel old 😂 Base Uni was actually pretty chill (like extended school really), masters is not... don't feel too overburdened by making a choice of career etc though. There is always room to change, and opportunities can always appear no matter what path you take.

Congratulations in any case, moving into being an adult is next, good luck and all the best with your next big chapter. ✨🎉

  • Piggy is adorable, her little squeal and her blade draw when she stands up, her little ear twitch if she's crouch idle, her ambush run. She's adorable and lethal if played right (too bad traps aren't that concerning unless using tampered timer/increased search time addons, but those are actually fun to play against if your timer goes right down to the wire/even if you don't make it, that's some real stress).💖

Sounds haven't worked for a long, long time. Anytime it gets somewhat fixed they brake almost immediately again. Sadly for a game that uses sound so much It's not very reliable.

A big problem is how they use audio occlusion, If a 99% generator which is very loud is behind a wall it gets muffled and quietened so much to the point where you can barely hear it. This alone is a huge part of the problem along with missing footsteps, survivors audios disappearing and extremely loud chase music.

Apparently they are working on fixing how they implement sounds but to be honest after months and months of the same issues I'm doubtful, But I hope I'm wrong.

This in particular bothers me, I tend to play stealth killers and used to like standing close to a locker to hear a survivor or in the next room to hear a generator now I just have to burst in and take the 50/50 chance there's someone in there especially in some of the game map areas. I also watched a comparison with surveillance and it's not that much different.

It's just so weird how from survivors POV you can hear your footsteps and breathing and feel loud when injured but to killer you're lucky if you can hear a survivor at all, the own footsteps and breathing as a killer thing is so accurate, if it's not that it is the chase music, sucks when you're trying to locate someone and another survivor tries to bait you into a chase so you get blaring music while trying to find an injured or downed survivor.

Purple ranks should never be allowed in with Yellow ranks because the lower ranks are more likely to be new players who are more likely to be dissuaded from playing if exposed to toxic Survivors / Killers from the higher ranks. And less new players means less revenue means less content means rip dbd

Doesn't this already happen though? rank reset being every month, plus increased pip difficulty for survivors means the edge between yellow and green (14/13) are filled with depipped skilled survivors. On the old ranking system at rank 13 I would purely encounter potatoes, now I am seeing survivors that know how to loop, how to 360 (on console), how to bait vaults, using DH,DS,MoM and adrenaline (sometimes all 4). If I were a legitimately new killer going up against this all the time I don't think I'd be that motivated to continue...and it's probably the same on the reverse.
