I have to agree with @Judith, Most of the killers who take pity on me when half my team gets salty and DC's, are Bubba's. They usually let me farm, but then i feel bad and drag him to the basement to hook me after....
They also seem to take vengeance on hook farmers and sandbaggers a lot more too.
And then there was my favourite, when I was still pretty new to the game and had the misfortune of spawning about 2 feet behind him at the start of the match. He looked at me for 5 seconds, nodded and then ran off. Of course he chainsawed my ass a little while later but the chance to not die instantly was appreciated.
I must get really, really angry bubbas then... they typically don't camp and are pro window vaulters. The only kind killers I ever get are strangely enough, mostly billies. I remember I got a 2 man game a while ago, the billy just followed us around revving and hitting gens and let us both leave even though we wanted to be hooked to give him some points. I've also only ever had wraiths give me the hatch/ drop me at gates and a really nice Michael let me go at a gate while I was trying to get an adept and my team was farming me (but I realised I knew the guy from previously playing against him a lot, again usually he was a billy main).
I've been most appreciating any killers who absolutely destroy hook farmers lately. Those are my favourites and no particular single killer does that. Spirits tend to be dishing out the hook farm revenge lately.

These are all amazing but that kate one is next level, your designs are so cool 😍 it's really sad devs are only accepting a few, there's so many great creations so far

A bubba literally hook camped me without insidious for my entire hook while my team did all gens all because I used balance landing after pallet looping him for a gen. Bubbas are mean
Yeah when I think of bubba and I think of that death stare he gives you with a revved saw if you decide to walk near his hooked victim, funny thing is they don't start swinging unless you do try to foolishly unhook... been ages since I've been facecamped by one though, some poor teammate usually goes down first...

Can't reset past 15 now, new system, I think it came into effect 2 rank resets ago. Prior to that I think they also decreased the amount that you do depip on reset.
-
Pretty sure the accepted formula is number of survivors left + 1 (so if survivors left are 2, then 3 gens must be completed before it will spawn i.e. have 2 gens remaining) also as above if there is only one survivor left (regardless of gen number in this case)
Pretty good to remember especially for trophies such as where did they go? In which case all generators must be completed before the hatch spawns with all survivors alive.
-
The right in the middle of the cornfields one is pretty interesting too had that recently but the ones right next to gens shouldn’t exist, ever. I have actually seen some that are slowly getting better but still hoping for true randomisation of totems spawns eventually. Those are the only two I can’t stand though, middle of open fields or right next to gens. Everything else I can deal with because they actually have to look a bit. It’s not that hard to find all of them now, but I do hope they remove these particular ones.

I feel this on a spiritual level but did biomedical science. Wish I would have done psychology or electrical engineering. Also I guess I collect swords (great opener that raised a few questions at uni) and enjoy making masks (so far trapper, scarecrow (in progress), legion (frank), a wearable carved pumpkin/jack-o-lantern head and a forest inspired masquerade mask) technically three but 🤫

I switched a lot of perks (I have most of them) until I got to this build. It works best for me so I keep it or maybe I just got so used to it that it is hard to change anything. Like you saw I was thinking about spirit fury and enduring recently.
M&A is godly on Myers.
Honestly I know the feeling, I used to actually love dying light because it was the best I had early on, then I moved to overcharge and nurses, then thanatophobia and H:DH and currently discordance, I don’t know what it is about these perks but I’ve gone through phases of absolutely loving them, even if they aren’t regarded as “top tier/meta” perks. Definitely the best way to do it, as you’ve done by finding what works for you.
I’m not a fan of spirit fury/enduring belief that it’s “required” on most killers. Maybe it’s a constant play in red ranks thing but I like using different perks and wasting 2 on pallets...doesn’t sound like it meshes well with my play style, I prefer mindgames and forcing pallets, getting hit on purpose is the least of my priorities. I prefer tracking/aura/gen perks overall (nurses, whispers, surveillance, bbq, discordance etc) brute force perks have never appealed to me personally even though many suggest brutal strength, spirit fury/enduring on Myers.

Bbq and Nurses give me good info on survivors whereabouts through the entire game. If I keep a good pressure people have a hard time hiding from me.
Hmm I’ve tried nurses but not for me, currently running discordance, BBQ, M&A and H:DH (usually play mid/purple ranks so don’t have to worry about ruin and can have fun with my build, I know if I want to get competitive I’d have to get meta but nope. I should try ranking with discordance, smart survivors tend to figure it out, dumb survivors fail to it, but over confident survivors think they can rush it before I get there with tier 3... )
Yours is a solid build, nurses was just a surprise, it used to be very meta but now with the non healing trend/DH/MoM/adrenaline seems it’s not as useful?
-
@Judith said:
What I meant was I don't use it on every healthy survivor and I down them in two hits instead. Saving ew3 for healthy people who seem to loop better. Using ew3 on injured only if I see them along the way obviously.
My build is Ruin, Bamboozle, Nurses and Bbq.
Okay that’s pretty normal/is a given so I thought you meant something else. Sorry 😔
That’s actually an interesting build considering most think you need purely an anti loop/M1 build (but bamboozle, BBQ and ruin I expected, nurses was the interesting choice)

past Shape Main here:
I don't have a personal problem with his power, rather his Addons. Many of his addons have unnecessary downsides or are completely useless.
The Jewerly Addons are useless, Boyfriends Memo is only good on Peek a Boo Myers.
Vanity Mirror has this unnecessary movement speed debuff with a ######### Aura Range, just take Scratched Mirror instead, it's 100 times better. I don't really like the other Aura Addons besides the Mirror Shard Addon which gives 5 second wallhack in Tier 2 when stalking someone. The other 2 are stupid. I don't really like any Tier 3 duration addon beside the Hair Bow. The yellow and brown one have the same stalking requirements as the green one but the green one gives 30 seconds extra Tier 3. The purple one has more stalk requirement and gives 40 seconds which isn't that great. I know the stalking requirements are only noticeable on the first time stalking from Tier 2 to Tier 3 and after that you have your regular 5 second stalk.
I normally run both Memorial Addons but I lack on them so I use Hair Bow with Mirror Shard to get that Aura reading on top of that longer stalk to have some side effect.
Wow I missed the shards, they’re probably even less notable to me than the stalk movement speed ones hence I completely forgot they exist...I’ve seen some say the shards are useful but not for me personally, feels like a less useful version of the huntress glow addon, at least she can use that information well, most survivors play peek a boo with you while stalking anyway, and basic survivor path prediction overrides the usefulness of seeing the aura. I did however first try them when the addon said 5s but only gave you 1-2s, devs fixed this a while back and I haven’t used it due to the old lie in the duration. Interesting someone uses duration and shards... definitely a different combo to me. But accurate description of the addons...I like vanity though... maybe I’m just strange in liking it, it does seem to be pretty taboo to most.

The way I play with Myers is walking around edges of the map trying to surprise survivors at the start. Either stalking or going for a gen grab. Sometimes both. After I get to tier 2 I play normally being tap away from tier 3 and using it when I think I should. I don't use it always to down healthy survivors. Sometimes I save it for tough situations.
I am interested in other playstyles. What about you @Kiskashi, what is your strategy?
@Judith Been learning spirit for the past month so been a while since I played a full Myers match. I think generally for me, I find a gen that’s being worked on either via sight/stalk from a distance or discordance, occasionally try gen grabs (heavy LOS blocked and good position of the survivor) but I prefer stalking from a distance to get as much as possible without risk of being seen. I usually get as much early game as I can before survivors notice, to like you do, be one tap away from ew3 when I need it, then I do chase/gen protection as normal, using discordance to know if there’s a gen being rushed, then sometimes sneak up and ew3 the people at that gen (usually the people that split towards nothing, not the one who runs to the pallet etc)
I also use discordance in chases late game because I know they’re getting desperate to finish the last gen/s so will drop a chase to return to gen protection. I never use ew3 on injured survivors, I usually use it in a dead zone, when I’ve caught them by surprise/in a bad area, on approach to a loop (try to get them before they get it, if they do they make mistakes more often against tier 3 anyway) or at a problematic gen with multiples. Hard to say what a typical strategy is though because I tend to adapt to my survivors. Every match plays different and requires a different strategy but above is my best guess at my habits.
If you can’t tell discordance is one of my favourite perks recently 😅, what’s your build? I can guess a little based on you mentioning in another post playing red ranks Myers.

Spirit is viable in my opinion. I had fun with her.
Definitely, I just put her in as an example of learning a new killer and not getting abuse for it, similar to playing not so viable killers around the same rank. I went from 0k to 4K with 32k maxed bp with her in just 2 matches at rank 13 against mixed ranks of 8-12, if that’s not saying something I don’t know what does, she’s amazing. I love her map pressure with the increased duration/speed combo. It’s actually refreshing to go from a killer that relies on sight like Myers to a mostly sound based killer like spirit but following tracks and grass/feeling resistance/body blocks seems to work okay while they’re not injured. Still learning though.

@Drazen said:
yes thats why im keeping my rank 8-10 all killers are viable at this rank and its fun to play :D
I’m kinda doing this, not entirely on purpose (don’t play every day etc) but yeah it does let me switch out to whoever I want, and I’m loving it, it’s not really worth the bother to sweat it out to go through red ranks currently anyway and is the goal of people who play regularly I guess (or it happens passively) It’s how I recently picked up spirit and how I’m going to try out console nurse on next season reset. It means I can switch between doctor, pig, trapper, clown etc and still have a fun match and I play fair as possible, it’s just a lot less stress than competitive ranking.
To be fair though, there’s no truth to the rank system anyway, as a survivor there’s no difference to me between a rank 12 and a rank 3 killer, for killer there’s sometimes rank 14s that will trash you running meta perks (usually while I’m learning a killer at that rank) then rank 8 potatoes the next match. I’m pretty sure most are doing this from experiences on both sides. The new rank system is more “how much/often do you play?” Everyone just seems to play a bit more chill at mid ranks (12-8) with more interesting perk combos
If I’m trying competitively though I rotate through wraith, Freddy, hag and Myers. Not the best team but apparently it works, I get bored of playing any character compulsively, probably add spirit to that team list soon too.
Best way to learn a new character without getting full abuse though is to wait a few days after rank reset, then play a few hours with that killer alone, learn their addons as you go, put any bp back into them. Inevitably probably will get bullied the first few matches but just know you’re getting better and starting to get 3-4K against survivors above your killer rank with a new killer, super satisfying.

I didn't even know myers had add on problems this bad....#########.....
@PigMainBigBrain It’s just mostly that the duration, stalking movement speed, mirrors and tombstones aren’t useful in a normal match and especially if going for competitive ranking. Duration ones sound good but they just make everyone go immersed for longer especially on cornfield/LOS blocked maps. They also require more evil the longer the duration (hair bow is the only one I used early on)
The tombstones require a lot of stalking (if paired with fragrant you need to completely drain approx 2 survivors) plus tombstone piece rips you out of ew3 immediately on a kill meaning it’s likely you’ll get 2 kills on average with this then be stuck in tier 2 (mostly you drain 1 full survivor for 1 kill but doesn’t count who you drain to tier 2) As Judith mentioned above this means without a gen stall build they’ll be done before you even hit it and probably still even if you do stall at higher ranks.
Stalking movement speed is useless because most times you can stalk without them realising at a distance OR they’ll try hiding at a loop/behind a pallet, stalking movement speed means you’ll follow them...as if in a chase...slightly faster. There are just better addons.
Mirrors are mostly a meme build. The slow movement speed in tier 1 and reduced lunge means it’s just not useful on a normal map. (I did have fun with it once on auto haven but I killed one...it was that large of a map I had no pressure despite the 32m aura view), there’s a good reason people only use it on lery’s and sometimes the game, you need insane LOS blockers for it to be mildly useful. For vanity it could be viable on a large map for 16m aura reading, if they removed the unnecessary speed decrease, might make it more useful but is that a crime considering it’s a purple rarity item? Wraith has aura reading addons while cloaked for the same rarity without limitation at 12m, I don’t see why this couldn’t be changed especially when trading ew3 for it. Could make matches more fun but the addon still useful in a normal match.
The most valuable addons for a Mikey are the stalking speed/rate of evil gain (such as J Myers memorial, memorial flowers) because they give you control over your tiers and dead rabbit (reduces TR in tier 2, but increases tier 3) I’d really love to see something that does this, most say they love jumpscare Mikey but he’s not super viable (addons as above) and you need ew3 if you want to create pressure due to time lost in tier 1, especially if trying to rank. If we had more addons for him that reduced TR like dead rabbit or maybe an ultra rare that removes tier 2 red stain, that would be amazing.
Sorry for the long reply, I guess it’s just that I’ve always kind of noticed how limited I am with addon choice. With any other killer I can use up to 3 sets of addons (and use their ultra rare in a normal match) , with Mikey it’s use normal addons or become a meme or get gen rushed while stalking the whole match but be able to kill people, maybe.
-
Yellow hair. I don’t think that’s a thing... the descriptions call it blond hair but pretty sure there’s no hair addon of yellow rarity. Maybe jewellery? Wouldn’t make sense though. Not sure could you post a picture of the addon? Maybe look at the wiki for the pictures and let us know which it is. Even in saying this though instantly tier 2-3 with memorial flowers (and presumably blond hair?)... seems a bit strange. Could have been obsession with Judith’s journal but I could only see this happening with j Myers memorial and memorial flowers given the situation you described and it seems neither of these were the case. Video would be best even if it’s not possible right now.

You played much longer than me so I guess I have to use these add ons for a loooong time lol. Surprised you use them too. Guess it works well then. I don't like increasing stalk movement speed ones. I used monitor and abuse before and it worked so well with the bunny but I had to change my build eventually to perform even better.
@Judith Don’t think it’s all purely playing killer though, remember I’m a 70/30 survivor main I’m just saying I’ve played Myers for that long during that time and as a result these two addons are all I need now. I feel like there’s stages, as a young Mikey I used hair bow and memorial flower (and deerstalker/dying light hahahaha wow I had terrible perks) and tombstone pieces often because I thought they were really cool at the time (RIP, considering I played survivor a lot then too...) In the middle I didn’t have M&A because Mikey was my first dedicated killer (played through teachables etc up to lv 50 first) so I used dead rabbit and vanity mirror, I loved vanity because I didn’t notice the speed decrease at all and used it for ambushes. I also used to thoroughly enjoy jumpscare builds.
Now at late stage Mikey main it’s exclusively J Myers memorial and dead rabbit and using M&A constantly. It feels like I’ve reached the end with this killer, nothing new to learn or try, jumpscare builds aren’t that interesting anymore. I’d like an addon rework for the movement stalking addons or even just re-evaluation of a few of them to make sneaking more viable like adding more dead rabbit like addons that alter TR and maybe even red stain as rare/ultra rare (might even remove/lessen the M&A meta a little and free up for more diverse builds)? I guess I can try the ultra super mega TR snowball build with infectious fright, M&A, distressing etc for fun but I find I’m playing him less right now. Feels sad in a way.
-
@Judith weird haha, I’m exactly the same, I’ve used J Myers memorial with dead rabbit exclusively for over a year now, considering I’ve only played the game for 1.5y that’s quite substantial. Really makes it look like the rest of the addons aren’t worth using, I only occasionally use tombstone piece as a swap, that’s it and reserved for overwhelming toxicity. Do you find any of the stalk movement speed ones worth it? I wonder if maybe we could get this switched out for something else...I’d like something new that freshens the character up a little, after so long maining him I feel like I’m getting super attached to spirit right now because she’s so much more of a versatile killer and there’s rewards to mastering her that I feel aren’t present for Myers (May allude to him only being mid tier)
-
Could have had memorial flower and j Myers memorial too? (Stacked stalking/evil gain addons) This would be pretty instant...rare to see though
-
Okay I guess I’ll go for shape despite playing pig quite frequently, I’m interested to see others responses to this though. It’s really long I’m so sorry.
1) What issues do you have with your main's power?
The build up, yes tier 1 comes with decreased TR however on a large map I feel Michael falls victim to the “setup” phase of the trial against good survivors (much like trapper) I basically use faster stalk addons (mostly J Myers memorial) all the time so I’d assume it’s a habit I’ve developed to immediately tier 2 and 3 giving me the control over my power rather than having it denied by smart survivors. Very few fall to tier 1 on large open maps too, being a stealth killer relies heavily on LOS blockers so open maps/gens like crotus Prenn you can forget about sneaking up as survivors have a 360 view and a tall blue body/white face doesn’t help. So good luck if you’re tier 1 at that stage.
2) Which of your mains' add-ons do you think have unnecessary weaknesses, limitations, or underwhelming effects for their rarity?
Hmm I don’t notice it much but I wouldn’t mind the speed decrease of the vanity mirror removed, would give more of a chance to use it on large maps (even though I do so occasionally now anyway), it’s purple rarity and it’s 16m I’ve got like 3 and use them for fun with dead rabbit. I’m one of the strange ones that’s completely okay with Judith’s and fragrant but I honestly never use 90% of my addons (answer below) I don’t have a problem with many addons but I rarely/never use tier 3 duration and stalking movement speed now.
3) Which add-ons do you think aren't worth considering using even when first learning/leveling your main?
Anything below yellow really, stalking movement speed increase is also meh, it’s only worth stalking speed (evil gain rate) and TR radius changing (dead rabbit), although when first learning increased tier 3 duration are probably best but come with caveats of generally requiring more evil to get to tier 3. I literally never used my brown addons... and don’t bother with stalking movement speed (jewellery box etc)
4) What would you consider to be the least fun aspect of playing as and against your main? (this can include perk/add-on loadouts, glitches, etc.)
Loops/chases, honestly if you get a half competent survivor and mess up and let them get to a loop... he can be looped indefinitely at tier 1 so don’t even try it just find someone else, tier 2 can be looped but requires smart play (plus with M&A/ dead rabbit you can sneak close for basically a free 1st hit or grab, or trigger ew3 at close range) tier 3 is slightly better because of increased vault speed and instadowns make people panic if you catch them in a bad spot and they make more mistakes. I just seem to notice it more as a Mikey, spirit has no such problem so it was refreshing to play her. Also not being able to stalk multiples, stalk cap per survivor, decreased stalk range/distance and stalk blockers such as corn. But I’ve adapted to deal with them.
Against main? Teammates feeding him stalk/running in a straight unobstructed line from him/teabagging him behind a pallet so he can stalk them... not a great feeling for anyone to deprive him the whole match and he comes back to you late match and triggers ew3. I always seem to get the exposed chases but I don’t mind, helps me practice keeping my cool and outrunning/outplaying them. Ew3 loses a lot of power once you cease to be afraid of it and think calmly about pathing. But a smart Mikey will generally aim for tier 3 in a dead zone so...
5) What would you consider to be the most fun aspect of playing as and against your main?
Scaring survivors honestly, getting a gen grab, watching them blow up gens in their faces as you close in in open view, triggering ew3 on a group close range and seeing them all scatter in fear, stalking someone through a window or crack in a wall until they notice you’re there, using vanity mirror (so can be used on any map compared to scratched) and tracking the survivors path into the basement and waiting for them to come back up to scare them at the door. Basically just laughing at reactions, I love those people that wait on the gen while their teammate realises you’re there in the window and sneaks away and they finally realise and blow it up, or you give up and grab them, love it.
Edit: Realised “against” was there...I actually enjoy a good ew3 chase, I know I’m crazy, but they’re thrilling especially when you can escape. I don’t get jumpscared by mikeys I think I’m immune. Most I play against just follow you around until they hit tier 3 anyway, no class or spooky moments there...

The ghost soot for wraith with the silent bell (coxcombed clapper) that’s about it I think. More for “fun” builds

Wouldn’t you just prioritise hooking the 2nd/slugged/downed then immediately? Prevents a chance for Insta heals and allows a new cycle on the hook equating 2 hookings to 1 event and more time off gens considering also who would body block a tier 3 Myers (pick up considering if in a place where flashlights are not easy and if not between a pallet) In the first case as you mentioned it that’s one Insta heal gone, on first hook of the match, with a bunch of wounded people around. (that MoM user can’t heal to full without you seeing).
If the slugged person is in a problem area they may get Insta healed but going for the hook rescuer may be better. It’s hard to know without knowing distance from the hooked person, if you’re near a strong loop, how many flashlights there are (should honestly be targeted first/have franklins for that plus Insta heals). It’s all a very in the moment thing and is much worse if the end of a match.

@GrootDude said:
I’m usually not even that serious when I make a discussion but I do think the MoM nerf is extreme.
I think it improved from what I’ve seen in streams, it encourages safe unhooks and protecting the unhooked person for faster stacks (2 per unhooking if the killer is trying to tunnel and you only need 3) it seems easier to get and supports the team and now can be used while healthy which counters NOED but I guess could be seen as a nerf if you used DH and MoM together... overall I think they did okay balancing it compared to what it was initially. (Edit: please disregard this I didn’t realise they removed the safe unhooks in today’s stream that is excessive given the inconsistency in protection hits)
As for OP it’s true, I often feel like I don’t play killer enough but I play a few sessions of nothing but killer, warm up before my survivor sessions by playing 5-10 killer matches and have at least been to rank 5 and played as every killer so far (except plague). Despite maining survivor (70/30) I feel like I come across as a killer main, because if you do play enough you realise most killers can stomp at early/mid ranks but over half the roster easily gets stomped or need to play really stressful matches in red ranks. Plus the BBQ/NOED OP arguments are just funny. You can easily counter both and I just facepalm when I see other survivors saying these, are they serious...Where as buffs to useless perks on both sides are still needed.
Playing killer really changes how you play too, you get better for one and two it makes being a pain to the killer with instaheals in their face and teabagging less funny/desirable (and I imagine it’s the same for killer only mains with mori spamming and hitting people on the hook, causing slug bleedouts etc). Taking your own medicine I guess they’d call it. I think only playing one side promotes a lot of the toxicity and flawed opinions on balance.

Oh and make a point of expecting either BT & DS at play if they’re aggressively altruistic and successfully unhook. So don’t immediately tunnel who was rescued. It’s better to down one of the rescuers ASAP
I really want to know more on what the situation is like to be honest, are they all swarming the hook? If so shouldn’t this mean there is no-one on gens. Is it immediate on someone’s first hooking? Just curious how they’re rushing a Myers near the hook (which sounds like suicide tbh) Also above is great advice especially with the new protection/unhook changes to MoM, if a survivor looks like they want to be hit, they’re covering for something/someone same as not chasing someone who wants to be chased because they’re typically the time waster in the SWF especially if they’re heading to a loop.
I’m pretty sure the hook proximity thing is a joke tbh. I’ve played against a lot of campers and they still get really good scores. I’m pretty sure it only super penalises face camping, constant area patrol and interrupting unhooks if someone led them there seems to do almost nothing. As dude said you’ll be earning points too.

Tapp. Whichever of these is most common (or should I say least common) I’m going to play solely in my next dbd session. You just reminded me how 90% of matches are Meg, Nea and Claudette. I’ve been playing Quentin a lot lately myself 😔 sleepy boi isn’t loved apparently.

I think it was Shazam, I was outvoted for that because I wanted to go see Us but majority of my friends that went don’t like horror. Going to the movies tomorrow though, it’s actually frequent for me but like you said there’s really not been anything exciting out for a while. Waiting for IT chapter 2 in September mostly (going to be a great month because borderlands 3 is also out then)

Why is this so genuinely sad, it’s like sudden realisation of great truth. The disappointment is real. Always hated those little plastic clip seals or having those specific cereal containers that literally do nothing to keep it fresh. 😔 Glad I’m a toast person now. My cereal days are long gone. (Like Mushwin I actually can’t remember the last time I had cereal, maybe a few years ago)

Survivor perk changes:
- Mettle of Man: We have changed the condition for getting stacks from being hit by a Killer's basic attack 3 times to perform a combination of safe unhooks and / or protection hits a total of 3 times to activate Mettle of Man's Endurance status effect. Survivors no longer have to be injured to receive Mettle of Man's Protection. This means that Mettle of Man will work similarly to Borrowed Time and will require more work from the Survivor to trigger Mettle of Man's Endurance status effect.
Removing comment asking for info on it in 3.0 PTB because this thread is childish and full of bias, should have expected it tbh. Ask for help and non biased information get downvotes, you’re all so constructive.

Doesn’t matter which killer i play, if survivors are very aggressive about trying to go in for hook saves i try to go for the grab and IMMEDIATELY drop them on the ground, and then wait for the others to rush in because they usually presume i’m going to try and hook the grab. This reduces the remaining survivors odds of a successful save tremendously.
If I can’t get the grab then i time my smacks so that one hit is during the save animation, wait a brief moment to avoid their invincibility, then smack the rescuer again to down them, then place THEM on the hook they’re now under.
And then i just repeat one of the above two strategies if they’re just not being cautious about a safe rescue.
This is accurate I’ve seen many teammates especially at rank reset fail to this, so many. Over altruism is the biggest killer in dbd, usually in matches against a Myers they get tier 3 off one, slug 75% of my team and gg. If you need more time to work a snowball the hair bow addon extends the duration nicely, can be paired with faster stalk like J Myers memorial. Most times you don’t even have to plan a snowball, they just drop one after the other as soon as one triggers ew3 no matter if I’m playing killer or playing against Myers. You can also to an extent fake pick ups. Standing over a person you’ve slugged for a few seconds may give you time to hear a flashlight person running in behind for the save etc, especially useful if they crawl between pallets and you’re almost tier 3 or in tier 3. (Works on any killer really)

Ultimately, you lost between the who finds the hatch first. It's completely fair game and survivors are even given a second chance to survive if the killer finds the hatch. It is very difficult, but don't expect it to be a free win. Door spawn locations need a fix though
This isn’t true, survivors can find it first but killer closing it takes priority over the interaction when it opens even if the survivor gets the prompt at the same time. It’s often better to use the gate strategy, hatch is a lost cause at that point in the match (last survivor), you’ll never win it unless you magically find it and the killer hasn’t looked for it first (more rare than a unicorn btw) the gates are the fair part if the spawns are decent. Because there’s no certainty in who wins it. Unless the killer has whispers. They sometimes won’t even bother with the hatch if they have that (learned this the hard way against a fast rev hillbilly)
Also I don’t believe it should be a you sucked you deserve death scenario (in response to entitydispleased above, not what I quoted here) it should be 50/50 counting the hatch as an option is dumb most killers are on that instantly so why that’s considered an option I’ll never know (unless you have a key) saying you deserve to lose because your team were potatoes isn’t great. Gates should be fair game, but apparently some people can’t handle a fair, intense endgame with the last survivor (who may be the best in their team, it’s not always the immersed do nothing teammates) and if they’re that desperate for the 4K and don’t like the gates distance for their chosen killer slugging for 4K still works... I like endgame as a killer and a survivor, I just think it shouldn’t be in favour of one side over the other, a true 50/50. Most survivors who escape me end game are usually last hook anyway and I get hatch close points. I don’t agree it’s the survivors have failed and killers deserve unopposed 4K because the other 3 teammates sucked.

The really daft thing about his default shock therapy range is that if you are close enough to shock them you are probably close enough to just hit them instead, wich is more valuable most of the time.
The fact that you have to switch modes during chase to use your shock does not feel great and I'm not entirely sure why the Doc need to be slightly slower in treatment mode. He also has a bunch of useless or very weak add-ons, but every killer has that issue.
I noticed this heavily while playing him for a daily recently (I used to play him a lot when I first started out and now play him occasionally for a fun change/dailies), I was completely overestimating the range of the shock, you’re completely right, you basically have to be right behind them at base (I know there’s range addons but I’d rather have order, calm etc effects as madness can be passive anyway) and even then they change direction slightly or be close and it seems to miss so easily, it is easier and often more useful to just get hits, I ended up getting them all to madness 3 then just attacking relentlessly because it just wasn’t worth shocking them by that point. Doc really needs some buffs, the transition is so slow that using it just to deny a vault/pallet doesn’t feel smooth/useful enough.

Running around someone who is hooked with the killer on you/running the killer to the hook then unhooking.
Crouch sandbagging injured teammates who are actively being chased at pallets
Hide inside the exit gates when the killer is not there/waiting for the killer to chase them out and someone is hooked/needs protection to get out. (No NOED generally too, if it’s NOED I’d understand...)
WASTING ALL THE PALLETS (I know you mentioned this but the emphasis, IS NEEDED. You can run a killer 2-3 times around a loop without getting hit if you watch them, it’s amazing. Do it. Do not throw it down when they’re 5 meters away and potentially a charged huntress or nurse unless you know what you’re doing, just... it’s painful to watch)
Not using LOS blockers on a Myers and running in a straight line from him ( I know this benefits me as a Myers main but seriously as a survivor I have looped many Mikeys while they are trying to tier off me, stalking is SUPER obvious, try crouching even if he’s close, bets are with that tier 1 lunge he’s literally trying to tier not hit and you’re wasting his time by LOS blocking, even by tier 2 some can’t live without that precious exposed. Also don’t go blind panic if he hits exposed, think rationally, put distance between you and him where possible and watch him closely, the amount of Myers I’ve had DC from my chases lately are incredible.)
This could go on forever... most of these are from recent matches.
-
It would be a good idea if you didn’t have to stalk again to recover what you lost tiering down and could activate it at will, I mean you did already work for that tier, this would make it more useful to close in on a LOS blocked gen then tier up if you need a chase, the 3/4 does cover this but you’d be giving a head start while you re-tier and would only be useful if they slightly increased the base amount of stalk in each survivor to cover this choice of tiering (correct me if I’ve misunderstood your idea please).
I get why you’d want this because it restores his stealth and surprise factor and a good part/option with his power that typically gets ignored, especially if not in a chase, but at this point in the match it’s likely someone has seen you/heard the tiering notification, all survivors will likely be paying more attention and I’d honestly rather the current M&A/dead rabbit combo with J Myers memorial to play with 2-3 tiering as needed than adding the complication of tier 1-2-3 tiering again with situational benefit. As you said though it’s an option, and would make closed in maps interesting but wouldn’t find much use on an open map, interesting idea though.

Solo has taken a hit for me recently. teammates feel dumber and more immersed
Ive had to completely rework my solo build to make standing a chance easier. Kindred, small game iron will and adrenaline
shocking how even with kindred ill still see 2 separate survivors drop gens and try to come get me at the same time.
I saw this yesterday, had a person with kindred on the hook, I saw 2 people going for it while I had a ruin gen 90%, why do they need 2 people wasting time for the save seriously...it’s sad how common it is even with kindred, now I get to watch 2 teammates crouch walk to the hook, beautiful.

Same. I'd feel terrible taking someone out the first 2 minutes.

This is my, leave me alone build.
I know they’re common at purple- red ranks, not surprising given the point of this discussion and feeling the need to have such perks to have a chance at surviving given how “aggressive” killers are at those ranks. I mean most are saying to get to rank 1 survivor your only hope is to be in a sweaty SWF at this point...
-
Yeah just got to rank 6 and honestly considering using DS and have started using BT. I’m also cleansing totems at the speed of sound because if they don’t have ruin, definite NOED, if they do? 70% chance of NOED...Although to be fair as killer at rank 12 I have had a surprising increase in people who hook farm in front of me or people who get off the hook running at me directly, I usually just slug them and move on, I feel bad taking someone out in 2 mins into the match especially if the team hasn’t even got a gen done (and I don’t even run ruin) and it creates pressure anyway, in hook farming cases I always go for the unhooker being a survivor main, hook farm in front of my face and I will end you. They tend to DC when I go for them too (especially if they led me to the hook with scratch marks while I’m ew3) because they expect the easy escape/to go immersed while the killer chases the poor injured guy.
Really doesn’t make much sense to me, tunneling is incredibly prevalent through most of the middle ranks. But I kind of understand though if they’re getting rushed and desperate for a kill, in saying that I still see it even if my “team” is failing miserably and can’t do a single ruin gen. I find pressure more useful than an outright kill of an easy target personally but each to their own. One bad teammate on the floor means one person off gens to help them.

...and DC
Close, my most recent teammate running this ran straight at a legion, did the come here action, got attacked, struggled on the hook, and doomed us all to 5 gen 3 man with ruin. Amazing, best no mither so far, they lasted a record 2 seconds...

DS needed a nerf, syringe hasn’t been changed yet and the endgame isn’t too bad.
You should probably play both sides a bit more, the only OP thing about killers is their add ons(not every killer though).
This is about as accurate as you can get and as for OP addons and endgame, I actually had a really intense endgame against a tombstone Myers and honestly that was one of the most exciting/tense matches I’ve had in a while because he got the hatch first but I got lucky with the gate distances and just got out in time. I also had a spirit match yesterday on one of the autohaven maps, closed the hatch and went to a gate, the gates were on complete opposite ends of the map, I chose the wrong gate the survivor got out, that’s how it’s meant to be, there’s no certainty to who wins, I just hope they listen to the feedback on maximum/minimum gate distances.

Against: huntress, the really good ones, they make loops and chases intense and those snipes across the field from BBQ are impressive.
As: currently spirit, just started learning her and I’m loving the map pressure she has with the increased duration and speed addons, it’s amazing, the mind games are really fun too.

People only ever run dying light with a mori, perk is garbo and was never good.
I can verify this 100%, was stuck with it as a new Mikey for a long time, because he was the first I got teachables for thus not a lot of perks to choose from, almost always used a tombstone piece or mori (at the time obsessions were running old DS anyway) makes no sense to have a perk that encourages you to get rid of the obsession early just to get that penalty it’s bad for the obsession and the killer, I’d rather a buff to thanatophobia to be honest...It’s not that it’s become bad now, it’s just that it’s even worse now

I have this problem too, I get really stressed out if I don’t play well, it’s a personal problem so my first match of the day is really stressful. Sometimes, it sounds weird ,but for me I really enjoy playing as a killer I have no experience with. Like spirit, I was trying to learn how to play her yesterday and it was a blast, I was bad for my first few matches but it really helps if you can look back on your progress and be satisfied when you’re getting better, it was so satisfying to go from 0k to 4K with max bp in 3-4 matches as her. Playing as a new killer can take the pressure to do well off because you don’t expect to which I guess is the key to being happy as a killer, don’t expect to 4K or do well, just do your best and take the mistakes as a chance to learn. We only get better on both sides by facing better opponents and learning from it.
It’s all just in the practice and just tell yourself that you’re improving, you’re getting better, you’re learning and maybe if it helps watch some favourite streamers. I’ve learned a lot of spirit (and killer in general) mind games just by watching them. If I really get mocked and tilted by a team as one of my inexperienced killers I tend to come back as a main (killer I’m confident with) such as Mikey with a tombstone piece or Freddy with an ebony. Not that I use them if I don’t need to but I do save them for that special toxic teabag happy flashlight clicky kind of survivor. I consider them going out of their way to taunt me as volunteering for a mori.
If they’re teabagging at the door don’t give them the satisfaction just walk away to a random part of the map, the EGC will force them out eventually, use the time to break things, practice hatchet shots on a chosen target, Close the hatch so that last cocky guy can’t wait to get it, practice chainsaw swings around objects as bubba etc. they act all brave and vault spam but won’t leave their safety and you’re denying them the points and the satisfaction. Or if you can take advantage of their ego and get close with an Insta down or tombstone, if you can get one down and hooked with blood warden that’s also fun.
As above too get BBQ because even if you have a really bad match the bp alone from this can be worth it. If it’s post game toxicity I think playing with offline status might help on consoles (ps4 at least) bc I did this accidentally while playing yesterday, also closing the endgame chat on PC or just saying gg and move on, kill them with kindness and such.
Some of my advice is for when you have a bit more experience (only just realised you said you started recently) but it just goes to show it’s a constant thing for killers regardless of experience there’s still the chance to lose to more experienced players or just have a bad day in general, it feels so much harder at the start but you will improve. Just keep trying and learn from your opponents, your mistakes and from others (streamers)
-
I’m having the same problem, I was playing as a new spirit to learn her (3 tier 1 perks) yesterday and took 8-10 minutes to find a match, starting to wonder if 13-10 is the new peak in the rank distribution and thus it’s harder to find survivors to match? But even then I was rank 13 and was getting between 8-12 and occasionally 15-20 (which just felt bad, I was new to spirit but these people didn’t even grasp key mechanics of the game yet and were hook rushing, was not a good match)
Ps4 player too. My friend who was playing rank 19 killer was getting matches instantly though. As a survivor at rank 7 I get matches near instantly or at most 3-5 minutes
-
I think I’ve dealt with this for so long I’ve adapted, if close enough you can still get partial stalk but it’s not worth it, I think it was mentioned above but stick to the clear view sites near the outer gens until tier 2 at least, by this point you have a better chance at chasing and if they do decide to go to the corn for safety you can still track and hit them like any other killer. It’s using those moments before they get to the corn that matter the most, sometimes going to high ground works but I personally avoid this because it tells them where I am and which direction I’m going, not a fan.
Most survivors can’t afford to spend the whole match in the corn because that’s not where most of the gens are, you’ll catch them off guard at some point and have chances for stalking and tier 3 regardless of if they use the corn. It’s only really a problem early match tier 1 once you get better at tracking and corralling survivors to certain areas through gen pressure.
-
Yeah torn on this myself. I’ve never prestiged Mikey despite maining him, he’s nearly got all perks, and I guess that’s more worth it to me than bloody cosmetics and more rare items isn’t that true anyway he still gets a lot of ebonies, bps etc. I am however going to prestige Freddy bc his gameplay is changing drastically. I am concerned that one day they might add in a condition that there’s rewards for prestige but honestly by the time we get to that point ... how many years from now?
Currently it’s more worth it to me to have all perks for fun builds and using exactly what I want to, not hoping to RNG when I prestige. Especially when it took me 50 + another 20-30 webs just to get M&A to show up....
-
@MegaWaffle Pretty sure PC has achievements for rank 10 and 1 on both sides (maybe 5 as well?)
As for getting rank 1 OP it is way too dependant on the teams and the killer for survivor pipping. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone at rank 1 to be honest most people tend to get stuck where you are.
The system really needs to be re-evaluated like some have suggested that survivors that are in long chases while gens are getting done get part of the objective points etc like survivors are actually a team but from the roadmap seems like we’re quite a way from the next big overhaul of the system unless they change it again soon.
-
This would be nice. I’ve had reset matches at rank 15 against rank 2 and some purple ranks I’d honestly rather some “disparity” bp bonus as well at the end if the rank difference is greater than 5.
Also I have a friend who plays killer sparingly and was rank 19 and got 2 purple and 1 green rank. Not sure how that’s considered a fair matchup but sure.
