  • 1) Don't ignore dulls when you run by them.

    2) If you must ignore dulls such as when in a chase or rescuing someone, remember their location.

    3) If you gen rush the game in 3-5 minutes it's your own fault for what happens in terms of NOED since you ignored the very real possibility of it.

  • @Mushwin said:

Gen rushing just means the killer sucks ^^ and gets pissed when their hex ruin is found

No. It's possible to be gen rushed even with Ruin in play. As I've stated in a different post on the subject, even if the killer manages to chase people off of generators. Even if the killer manages to track down a survivor and eventually hook them. Even if all that happens, survivors have enough tools in their kits, even when playing solo, that matches can take anywhere from three to five minutes.

Took on ZubatLel one time when he was streaming. I was hardly doing nothing as the killer. Got multiple downs and hooks, and they STILL rinsed through three or four generators, even with Ruin in play, like it was nothing. I watched his VoD after and he was hitting every Hex skill check with relative ease. My only saving grace was that my build included Bloodwarden, and that I had managed to RBT two survivors, preventing them from leaving.

  • I'll believe it. Scored 30k as Freddy once and only safety pipped.

  • If their RBT is ticking down, you are holding them to their death not hostage. If they're dumb enough to not attempt to save themselves then that's on them. The devs ruled a while back that the dumbass who got body blocked by the killer against the chest at the top of Thompson House with a ticking RBT wasn't considered holding a person's game hostage but rather the survivor's fault for going for loot when he should have been trying to get the trap off. In the case of this it's a hatch standoff with a guaranteed outcome eventually.

Also, 2.5 minutes unaltered and 2 minutes with Tampered Timer.

  • Children, don't make me pull this Jigsaw Box over.

As for your statement, all you have to do is find the hatch before them. Once you're there, just crouch on top of it as you laugh maniacally while they attempt to shove you off of it, killing themselves since they'd rather feel like they deserve a free escape rather then save themselves.

  • Lobbies glitched one time and my buddies and myself got a baby Billy. And I mean a BABY Billy. We felt so damned bad. This poor little bugger was trying to M1 pallets to break them. To their credit though they didn't dc and kept on trucking trying their best.
  • "Obvious stream sniper!"

I'll refrain from their name to prevent trolling but I was playing Pig with Amanda's Letter on Leiry's. Streamer repeatedly called me a sniper on her VoD of said stream.
  • I would go Dark Steel for Pig on the basis of the RBTs. I also think Billy needs a fighting type secondary. Beyond that all looks good ^_^
  • Survivor standing on a surface that the killer can't reach? THAT'S exploiting.

Survivor is juking the killer through hell and back for multiple generators? That's simultaneously the survivor having good map awareness and the killer not.

I won't be so disrespectful as to say "git gud" but it is indeed something that takes practice and comes with time.

If you were actually facecamping, what are you expecting?

I've been across the map, chasing someone else and still been called a camper. There's no reasoning with people like that.
  • Honestly? I see Hag and Hillbilly being shipped next. Hag having been beautiful before her imprisonment and transformed into what she is now. Hillbilly being able to relate to her rage of being imprisoned due to his deformities being the reason for his imprisonment.

I see Hag being able to look past him being a little bit slow and Hillbilly seeing her for her beauty he feels she still possesses.
  • Legion is remarkably easy to counter in terms of losing them. The problem comes from even if you lose them, you still need to find a safe place to mend. If they find you whilst mending you're boned.

Freddy is honestly nothing more than a really annoying gnat buzzing around your ear currently. Yes he puts you to sleep and slows the game down a little, but honestly that's all he's got going for him. It comes down to with Freddy of how good of an M1 killer are you? If you're good then you'll have few issues. If you're normally looped to oblivion even against lower ranked survivors, you're in for hell.

It honestly depends on what you define as "fun" while playing survivor. If your definition is to have a fairly easy time with the killer then odds are Freddy is your killer of choice. I'm sorry Freddy mains, but it's true. Unlike you, Legion can be an immediate threat not instantly countered by RNG. I had a Freddy sit on me for about 6-7 attempts of putting me to sleep while working a generator all because I had Spine Chill and was getting a steady stream of skill checks because of it.

If you want to take on a killer and run for your life constantly versus a killer who, depending on add-ons, in some cases can be more broken then the Nurse then Legion is your personal playground.

Honestly for me? I enjoy taking on Doctors who do nothing but shock instead of FMT/SWS Legions all the time.
  • Would it be possible to change Dying Light so that the slow is a stacking percentage up to a maximum amount based upon how many times the obsession is hooked or perhaps occurs while the obsession is hooked at maximum value that would be different to what it currently is to compensate for it?
  • Staying on hook for maximum struggle while my teammate camps on top of hatch, t-bagging to demand me to kill myself instead of rescuing me since the killer had scampered off ages ago looking for them. Only releasing when the killer picks their bleeding corpse off the ground and carries them to a hook.
  • Surveillance, Sloppy Butcher, Ruin, and Pop Goes the Weasel has been my Legion build to great effect.
  • Not just ping either, there's also this issue a person in a discord I'm in just posted a little bit ago.

    They were the killer.
  • I see a bunch of Claudettes in my lobby, I either break out an aura reader or a light colored map.

Is a scrunchy too much to ask for to counter this madness?
  • It's honestly a cross between hitboxes and latency issues because of being a P2P game currently.

For instance, I somehow missed a survivor with a Trapper machete at point blank range, with the blade passing through the survivor's shoulder and then later in the chase, landing a blow on them through a rock.

As Huntress, I throw a hatchet and have it pass harmlessly through their torso, and yet when I toss one at the empty space they were once occupying when they rounded a corner, it's a confirmed hit.

Part of the problem will indeed be fixed with dedicated servers come, but it's only half the issue.
  • Oddly enough I've had a huge amount of luck on Hag using M&A, Tinkerer, Nurse's Calling, and BBQ. The small terror radius and it suddenly vanishing seems to help a LOT. Particularly with people that don't remember to NOT sprint when they've been rescued from a hook.

  • So I'll admit, I'm 110% against one-hook-moris. That said, crap like that starts happening during my killer matches I'm pulling that trigger
  • I honestly get more irritated by people that teabag me wrong.

    Allow me to explain.

So generally when I'm chasing loopers I get the two little quick teabags at a pallet and then they run off, i chase them, i gut their insides after they smack me in the head a couple times with a pallet. We have a nice time.

Lately I've been getting a LOT of these knew players that think their big ######### because they watch people like Noob3 or Monto or Puppers or AngryPug etc. and thusly think they are capable of pulling the same crap as them. Know how I can tell these people apart? THEY CAN'T FRIGGING TEABAG RIGHT! It's quick, concise taps on your left control button, but you people do it in slow motion! I swear there is like a full second delay on their god damned ground humps and it is annoying the CRAP out of me!

So in short, if your intent is to emulate the people you watch the videos of, ACTUALLY DO IT RIGHT AND STOP CALLING ME FOR CHEATING BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO 360 RIGHT OR PROPERLY BAIT VAULTS!

-insert excessive eye twitching and heavy mouth drool with deep angry breaths through gritted teeth facial meme here-
  • In terms of usefulness the licensed killers, from best to "worst" based upon what you get in terms of killer and perks for unlocking are Myers, a tie between Leatherface and Pig (Leatherface for the perks and Pig for the killer utility), and promptly followed by Freddy whose only real contribution is Bloodwarden.

In terms of original killers under the same stipulations of best to "worst" based upon killer utility and perks for unlocking, Spirit is currently the best followed by Hag, a Clown and Doctor tie based upon your playstyle, then Legion who has perks... kinda? but with the changes to Surveillance their really useful one just got heavily underwhelmed and unless you're willing to feed lots of bloodpoints into their bloodweb they're not going to put out much in terms of kills and rank.
  • If I'm running Rancor odds are I'm also running Remember Me so I've gotta beat down obsession as much as possible.
  • For some reason, and I zero idea why, I do extremely well playing as Hag with M&A, Tinkerer, BBQ and Chili, and Nurse's Calling. I have ZERO idea why this combo works so well but I just slaughter people with it.
  • Balanced Landing
    Adrenaline
    Lithe
    Sprint Burst
    Dead Hard

Adrenaline is where it is for me since there's no guarantee you're actually going to get use out of it.

Balanced Landing is above it because the recovery time, while fractions of seconds, is enough to quite literally save your ass on multiple occasions.

I put Lithe over Sprint Burst mostly due to play style. I like being able to run around the map and not waste my cooldown. That said they're both just a matter of preference.

Dead Hard is Russian Roulette. You're either going to get decent use out of it or it's going to screw you over. I've taken on at least two upper level streamers last month who attempted to Dead Hard against me and it didn't activate and only gave them the Exhaustion debuff. Even IF you manage to get it to work, there's only a few select times you're going to be able to get anything really profitable from your perk slot investment. Thus I put it at the bottom.
  • First and foremost, Entity doesn't just feed off hope but moments of extreme emotion such as terror when Myers rips you off a generator or rage when you're stabbed in THE GOD DAMNED SHOULDER FOR THE THIRD TIME THIS ROUND BLARGRAWRSNARLGHRAWL....

    ...ahem...

Anyways, unlike John, as many have pointed out, Amanda does not believe in forgiveness. Those that commit their actions that they're being judged for, in Amanda's eyes, are destined to repeat over and over again. Thus they deserve to die.

Looking at the profiles of all the survivors, I honestly feel like the only one she would have a legit bone to pick with, in terms of going against her sense of "morals," are Ace with his gambling habits, Feng for the whole gaming thing, and Nea because... well... it's Nea.
  • Freddy isn't as horrific as people make him out to be but that doesn't make him terrific. Honestly a lot of 4ks from him are simply due to the fact that he's not often seen so people are unsure how to handle him. As odd as it may seem, with the current rate new people are joining the game, they might even hit purple ranks quite easily and have never seen a Freddy to that point and have no idea what to do.

As for Legion, as I've said multiple times, they're the Schrodinger's Cat of killers being simultaneously one of the most powerful killers as well as one of the weakest. Some add-ons are lack luster. Others are broken as hell. People talk about FMT all the time but seemingly forget about Stab Wounds Study which basically does the same thing and is why FMT is so broken (seriously, pair up SWS with one of the blade add-ons and you'll see pretty much identical results). If they had one as Rare and the other as Ultra Rare I don't think there would be that much of an issue, and it really wouldn't be that bad of a nerf. Legion's counter is pretty much people that are decent at looping and counter guessing the mind game plays. The more familiar you are with loops the better off you're going to be.
  • Once the amount of points killers could get got buffed I felt it got a lot better. That said, the premise of killers dcing to prevent survivors escaping with relics is an issue that needs to be looked in to.
  • I see a survivor join my lobby who locks in and has constant red ping, no thanks I'm gone. Have a hard enough time upon occasion dealing with certain survivors without them doing their best Nurse impression.

I see someone in legacy or blood? Psh... Not much of a threat generally. Most Legacies I've run into cheated to get it. Only a few live up to the orange hype. As for blood, there's no real point in being bothered by it since that, like Rank 1, are damned easy to get.

Not trying to come across as hyper elitist but just making the point that not many of people with these cosmetics are as potent as they seem. That and with the changes coming to the SWF/Solo lobby experience, killers won't know who's SWF or not.

  • Urban Evasion, Iron Will, Spine Chill, Stake Out.

This build combined with decent map awareness works great.
  • Well we all know what Wraith and Nurse do together...
  • Just before BNPs were nerfed I was working my way up to rank 1 killer for the first time and was using Pig. Took on a team with three or four BNPs. Was a hard as hell fight and managed a 4k against them ^_^
  • I honestly feel a little immobilized after vaulting through a window medium speed during a chase but that may be the P2P. Like I feel since the change I'm just stuck there for the briefest of moments before continuing on, something I didn't feel before now.
  • @The_Crusader oddly enough add Huntress to that list since I've been bumping into a LOT of NOED Huntresses.
  • ...how is this even a topic for discussion? Lmfao STBFL.
  • They specifically removed it in a patch last year to prevent killers from lobby dodging. They also made it so the killer is unable to see the amount of hours played a survivor has though recently I've been able to do so.

This was implemented to prevent killers from cherry picking easy matches that they knew they'd win.
  • JohnTed said:

My killers are just 10-15 level, how can i combat to full-perks survivors. No BBQ & No ruin......

Sadly you can't. This event's lobbies are bugged to hell and back. Me at rank 5-2 as killer ended up with people of ranks 13-10 in my lobbies for survivors. Not sure the heck was going on and I'm happy for the ques, but I don't like punting puppies.
  • @Tzeentchling9 said:
Or way more prevalent, just to be safe.

you're never going to get a lobby then.

  • I forget his name but there's a guy on YouTube that reviews all the different Warframes of the game of the same name and offers his thoughts towards the changes that particular model offers.

In those reviews he discusses his displeasure with the idea of a S rank. This is due to the fact that such a rank is overpowered as all hell and due to that fact is probably going to be nerfed soon. He further elaborates saying that an A ranking is a much better location stating that at A, the Warframes are powerful, but still have their seperate niches they fill without overpowering everything.

I feel killers should aim for the same sort of rating though what that would be to bring killers up to A and Nurse down to it I am unsure.
  • If you're strictly using Frank's Mixed Tape and the other add-on that greatly reduces time on Deep Wounds then they're broken as hell. Frank's Mixed Tape is a broken as hell add-on for rare tier but I'd deem it acceptable for an ultra rare tier.

People that moonwalk with Legion are going to do the thing that no one wants and that is get Legion nerfed so that Deep Wounds doesn't go down in Terror Radius in addition to in chase.

As for their main mechanic, Legion's main weakness during this is that while Frenzy is active they still lack the full mobility of a survivor and can't turn on a dime upon completing a vault. A prime example of this is the half-wall built into the main building of the Asylum itself. Where survivors can vault through the window and immediately turn to the left, squeezing through the opening between the main building and a busted wall, Legion can not. Legion, instead, vaults WAY too far and actually lands up against the wall, meaning they have that much more ground to make up. They are also unable to turn as quickly as a survivor can upon finishing a vault, causing even further delay and allowing the survivor to run that much further.

As for the rest of them, I've had mixed results. It also depends on what you'd call a win. Legion is basically the only killer that can almost guarantee a pip even if you never kill a survivor in addition to netting you 30k bloodpoints. At low ranks, Legion, like Trapper and Leatherface are extremely difficult to deal with. At higher ranks, Legion is the Schrodinger's Cat of killers being simultaneously one of the strongest and weakest killers at the same time. If you are able to recognize the weaknesses of Legion's high mobility in addition to their strengths you can do quite well, but much like Nurse it requires a LOT of mind game, proper predictions, and a hell of a lot of luck. The main difference though is that where Nurse only requires two good guesses as to what a survivor is going to do to counter them, Legion requires MULTIPLE in order to get the down for a single person. This then grants the rest of the survivors that much more time to get generators done, more or less negating Legion's ability to have high mobility to protect the main objectives.

More then most killers Legion can be hardwalled by the ability of the survivors themselves. So if you have a team, even if it's not a SWF, that's even SLIGHTLY coordinated odds are you're going to lose. That said, getting a REAL 4k on Legion and not abusing mechanics, tunneling, camping, etc can be a VERY rewarding feeling, especially against a skilled team.
  • As I said on maps that do best for it like Scratched Mirror Myers, IE Leiry's or The Game, it works like magic. Also like Scratched Mirror Myers,  it loses a lot of it's power when survivors have consistent LoS and no means for you to break it.
  • Amanda's Letter is broken as hell if you're decent at the ambush. That attacked with the cassette and the new base crouch speed makes things quite easy and it's rare I go through a match on a proper map with it without getting a 4k.
  • Amanda's Letter is for all intent and purpose Vanity Mirror. I worry if we gave it the normal amount of RBTs it would cause a LOT of camping. That said I don't mind the idea of it having more Jigsaw boxes instead of just two. Much like Scratched/Vanity Mirror, it is heavily map dependent in regards to power. I only bring this up due to the constant drivel I hear about it being her worst add-on. No THAT title goes to Amanda's Secret which DEFINITELY needs a rework.
  • To the people saying "Freddy is better then most but X, Y, and Z killers are the worst since I can't do well as them."

I am a terrible Nurse. Like total #########. You will probably only find someone in brown ranks worse at Nurse then me. But does that make the Nurse bad and in need of buff? HELL no. Each person has a killer and play style that suit themselves best.

Freddy is certainly an underrated killer, but a lot of people die to him simply because they're not familiar with his mechanics having RARELY seen him due to killers generally steering clear of him. In some cases, people that play Freddy at high ranks are actually the first time some people take him on. So you're literally taking on someone completely inexperienced at the killer you're playing and thus have no idea how to counter.

Against a team that knows what they're doing? A team that knows how to cheese all of Freddy's flaws which are NUMEROUS? You might as well be a Trapper pre-buff with all his traps busted except you can't attack until a set time goes by.

Freddy is a unique killer with an interesting mechanic, but don't judge people who don't know how to face him with you knowing exactly what you're doing as a tell all "Freddy OP and need no rework." He does and that's why we're getting one.
  • I'll be 100% honest: I've pointed out a fellow survivor out before while slugged. Reason being, this individual constantly fast vaulted through windows around me, dropped pallets in my vicinity, purposefully failed skill checks around me, and farmed pretty much everyone on our team. Don't know what I did to piss in this guy's Cheerios, but enough was enough for me as I was slugged and bleeding out on the ground. It's not something I generally do and two wrongs don't make a right. That said I took a fair amount of pleasure watching the killer rip that prick out of a locker...
  • Well as was stated during a stream with our comments pertaining to Legion, they listen to our words, "With a very large grain of salt."
  • Wow that moon in the sky is really something. Hmm? Oh you dropped something.
  • Would love to see some of the Pig's add-ons get a little rework personally.

  • So I hate being that guy...

But being in this circumstance being what it is...

I'm going to be that guy.

Back during the Hallowed Blight, killer mains such as myself were getting 20, 30, 40 minute ques. Sometimes so long that they LITERALLY kicked you back to the main menu screen for having taken so long.

Killers complained, and while changes were made that fixed the majority of the que issues, virtually everything you lot are dealing with now is what we had to deal with then and before ten fold. We got told "Just run survivor and you'll have a faster que" or "Well if you were better at your job you might be able to get your progress filled easier." We're killer mains. We prefer playing killer just as you prefer survivor.

Two wrongs don't make a right. I'm not going to toss those jeers towards the opposite side. I will sit in my chair, holding a drink with a slight smirk on my face and point these points out so that in the future we can recognize an issue for what it is and not simply belittle one side for being a sensitive snowflake who just wants buffs.
