-laughs- Oh yeah I've used this strategy on MULTIPLE occasions. Doesn't work well on Balanced Landing users but is still pretty effective. It's even more broken on maps like Grim Pantry as the pantry itself has a double set of stairs, so generally you recover from the stun before the survivor even hits the ground if you let them wiggle out at the top of the stairs. I also feel like it would be somewhat effective over the hole in the ground on the Temple map as there is a choke point that the survivors NEED to use to escape.

Either bring a key, bring Wake Up, or bring both. I personally run Wake Up because keys tend to get you focused.

Honestly, my only issue with the detection mechanic is the inconsistency. For every time I can’t detect him as a survivor when he’s right there, I get detected through walls as a killer. Aside from that, though, leaning and cover is your best friend, and when you learn to use them effectively, avoiding detection is entirely feasible.
Agreed. I think Ghostface is suffering from the same hitbox issues that survivors do when we swing at them. That is to say "while on YOUR end you're halfway up the stairs out of basement for the survivor you just hooked your hitbox of detection is at the bottom of the stairs well within range of detection."
So translation: as long as hitboxes are an issue in DbD, so too shall be the inconsistency of Ghostface detection.

Ran past a survivor crouched in the corner of a wall in some grass with their back to me, mistaking thinking they were a dull totem. I forget who it was but I took like two or three steps around the bend, stopped, then the gears clicked in place and I was like "Wait a god damned second!", spun back around and put chase to the little bugger.
That survivor and myself were howling with laughter about in in endgame chat because he was shocked it worked for as long as it did.
-
I THINK they said on the dev stream it's to symbolize his connection to The Entity but don't quote me on that.
-
The only time I see it actually activating is with the cocky pricks that fast vault no matter what. Honestly I feel like Territorial Imparitive will hold more use.
-
We should get a Change dot org thing going for Carl to be put in the game since those ALWAYS work lol.
-
My current Hag build:
Perks: Monitor and Abuse, Nurse's Calling, Tinkerer, and Barbecue and Chili.
Add-ons: Dried Cicada (teleport distance) and Willow Wreath (5 seconds of reading a survivor's aura)
Pretty obvious but my build is all stealth and aura reading. It doesn't seem like it should work that well and honestly I've no real defense for it. Results speak for themselves though and more often then not I get 4ks with it.
-
Popular streamer accused me of stream sniping when I played them on Leiry's with Pig and Amanda's Letter.
-
Intriguing to say the least. I'll certainly be getting him.
The most interesting thing about him is the fact that these words are about to cross my lips: Insidious is going to be a legitimately beneficial perk to this killer and not for camping purposes provided nothing significant changes.
-
Slightly off topic but can I just toot my own horn for a moment on how close I guessed almost all of Ghostface's machinations strictly based on the wording of his add-ons. To quote MCote, "I think I did a pretty good job." Lol...
-
Yeah I doubt he'll officially replace Myers...
Couple of things I gleaned from watching Paulie Esther's video on the add-ons.
1) The Stealth is not a mechanic that is permenant as long as you have it active. It has a duration and that duration is lessened if there is a survivor within a certain range, called The Spotter, who have their camera aimed at you. Once depleted the Stealth needs to recharge before being used again.
2) More then likely there will be no accumulative stalking effect. Judging by the frequent usage of the term "The Mark" I'd say it's fair to assume that either you can only stalk one survivor at a time or that each survivor will have their own personal stalk gauge that the killer can keep track of it via a UI near the Survivor's name in the left hand corner of the screen.
3) One benefit of the stealth though is that you can perform basic attacks while Stealthed. As such you have what amounts to a toggle E1 Myers without the aura sense.
4) Lastly, going by the images that King uploaded in a video, Ghost might actually have a quasi sprinting mechanic when chasing "The Mark," but that is hypothetical and probably not the case.
There's a lot to love about Ghostface and I'm sure a lot of what I suspect to be how he works is going to be changed, but outright replace Myers? Oh definitely not.
-
Oddly the thing I've seen activate the greatest level of killer ire is Head On.
Like I've seen tunnels to the ends of time when someone activates this perk...
-
Yep it goes both ways. If you have a trash killer or trash survivors you can't rank.
-
There's a reason Claudette gets Self-Care because the vast majority of them I run into both killer and survivor side are only in it for themselves. This includes frequent farms, running the killer to allies all the damned time, dcing when being dropped once, the list goes on.
Yes I see this behavior on other survivors, but Claudettes are generally the worst offenders. If it comes down to me and a Claudette at the end and I get caught, doesn't matter if it's my first hook, she'll let me die...
-
Also the wording on Feral Frenzy not being able to damage Deep Wounds timer specifies "regular Feral Frenzy attacks" which has me thinking that you'll still be able to damage it IF you decide to use add-ons to do so.
-
@No_Mither_No_Problem if I had to venture a guess about the speed drop, it is to keep the final speed of the Frenzy the same as it is now. That is to say that the Frenzy speed at 115% base movement will have a smaller percentage boost then Frenzy at 110% base movement, but both will be moving at the same rate of speed in the end. It's just poorly worded. No offense meant, but like how a lot of stuff is in this game.

Honestly I don't really see the issue WITH MoM... About half of the killers have means of dealing with it without triggering it (not including Nurse in this because that's a bug).
Leatherface and Billy have their saws, Plague breaks people faster then the survivor can make use of it, Huntress has hatchets, Trapper has... well... traps, Myers has E3 AND insta-mori, Legion for all their ups and downs is in the same boat as Plague being able to down them faster then they can get MoM stacks. Even NURSE PLAYERS, once the bug fix is valid won't have much difficulty, the good ones at least, as Nurse ignores literally every rule in the game anyways lol.
The only ones potentially screwed are Wraith, Pig (if the dash counts as a M1 attack), Doctor but he's got other issues anyways that need a WHOLE other topic to discuss, Freddy (he's getting a rework though so who knows if it'll be an issue once that drops), and Hag. That said a decent counter to MoM is Save the Best for Last allowing you to recover from a successful attack that much faster.
In all reality I see MoM usage dwindling off once Killers start making more use out of their killers that can ignore MoM and not use the ones who can't. When that happens, Survivors are either going to call for MoM buffs, call the perk worthless and not use it, or both.
Just another storm we need to weather the tides of ^_^
-
-laughs- No. It's certainly NOT the weakest. As everyone has said before, it takes a bit of skill to know when to activate it and when not to. My personal thoughts of the five are Balanced Landing, Lithe/Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, and lastly Head On.
Balanced Landing because you can still get utility from it even when it's on cooldown, Lithe because you can control when or if you want to activate it, Dead Hard because the people that know what they're doing are some of the most annoying god damned loopers know to man lol.
I rate Sprint Burst low because odds are, if you're doing objectives when the killer comes up on you, the perk is probably on cooldown since you've been sprinting between generators. Obviously Head On is at the bottom because it's ranged from a decent stun if used right to a grace from God as to whether or not it'll actually work even if the killer is right in front of you and you've been in the locker longer then ten seconds so it should SERIOUSLY work but LULZ NOPE!
-
One of my more frequent arguements in regards to Legion is FMT in that I only feel it's overpowered for it's rarity. Remove the current UR tape and replace it with Frank's and that'll solve a lot.
-
Currently only Ace ^_^
-
It's essentially the same issue they had with Sloppy Butcher causing the infinite blood fountains. There's something about killers who have M1 scoring events that bugs up the whole system.
I'm fairly certain you'll see similiar occurances with Spirit coming out of phasing, Wraith out of cloak, (obviously) Nurse with blinks, Clown with gassed survivors, Freddy after just putting someone to sleep, Hag after teleporting ti a triggered trap, etc.
-
Hmm...I'm curious... Since Billy and Leatherface saws with speed limiters get NOED applied to them does that mean speed limiter saws trigger MoM?
-
I'm actually planning on a quasi meme build for Doc who's name I gleefully call, "Forever Screaming." More or less just all the perks that cause survivors to scream. That is Infectious Fright coupled with Distressing, Make Your Choice, and Iron Maiden.
-
The idea of blocking players is how an app that I don't recall the name of got banned. It let you do all sorts of stuff such as "This player played Nurse one time" or "This person ran loops" and it would disconnect from lobbies instantly. This happened at such an extreme that lobby ques were even longer then they are now. Survivors and killers alike.
-
@DudeDelicious I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure they don't.
-
My one request would be that his smoke's initial cough would be an interrupt if not by the AoE but on direct bottle hits. I mean if the Doctor shocks someone, they're interrupted from their current task due to high voltage, but if Clown hits them with god knows what sort of chemicals they're allowed to continue cleansing totems, healing, and repairing generators without needing to re-interact with the object in question.
-
<_< I mean sure it's purple ranks but I'm doing just fine as her. I run cooldown and charge speed add-ons for a howitzer vomit stream. Add on to the fact that breaking your Obsession grants you stacks of Remember Me and that survivors don't like cleansing and you end up with a free extra 30 seconds on gate opening ^_^
-
I BELIEVE I read somewhere that her current BP gains are bugged at the moment and that when the patch for it comes out you'll be seeing a lot better gains.
As for your other points:
1: something to that accord already happens but due to the infrequency of the vomit, you're more then likely going to spot the blood from the "injury" then you are the vomit.
2: You already are when you're broken. Think of it like reaching a point in a personal illness when you finally become contagious.
3: I'd more prefer to see an add-on that did something like this as opposed to default. A quasi Plague Inc where you control the type of disease you're spewing.
4: No. Just no. I'm not going to go into why. Just no.
5: Within reason MAYBE? I could see maybe your vision clouding slightly each time your character vomits, but Clown levels might be a bit harsh considering that blur already gives people headaches.
-
@Milo true but Wraith only has his cloak while Pig has her traps to continue to slow the game down.
Myers can't be seen in E1 and even IF he's in E2, due to so many people running Dead Rabbit, the moment he hits E3 his tr is MASSIVE.
I don't believe you can see Spirit while she's phasing and you can only see the husk, but I might be wrong about that.
Hag has traps able to be placed globally so that she can get anywhere she needs to be even if survivors see her set them. They can't remember them all.
-
Yes Enduring makes it virtually pointless, but in turn, you actually need to have a killer RUNNING Enduring for that to be that case. By that standard, because I run Stake Out, Ruin is useless as all of my Tokens make my skill checks successful Hex Skill Checks.
I actually made good use of the new D-Strike yesterday, running into the basement to rescue a survivor from a camping killer whilst d-strike was active. The one I rescued had Borrowed Time on them so the killer went to pick me up, and I stunned them for the escape.
The main difference from before is that it's not as braindead as it once was. You actually need to think about what you're doing before you use it.
-
It depends on the individual playing and those they're playing against in addition to the add-ons being used. Over complicated way of saying no they're not OP, just very annoying, especially in the hands of tunnelers.
-
@projecteulogy said:
First bug would be BT activating against a cloaked wraith. i can see it now.
Hence why I have two options. You can't see Freddy while awake and you shouldn't see Wraith when cloaked.
-
I've taken great enjoyment in Remember Me. Each the obsession breaks, whether by the killer's hands or by survivor, you gain a stack of Remember Me.
By the same standing, each time a survivor that's NOT the obsession breaks you likewise gain a stack of STBFL.
-
I'm kinda taking it the same way that the Azshara Warbring video in WoW did, except Plague wasn't as cunning as Azshara and instead of being made an equal was made a pawn.
-
If I had to venture a guess, it seems to be able 1-2 meters either side of the locker you're in and about 2-4 meters away from the front to still be hit. NAILED a Hillbilly today that was nowhere near directly in front of me.
Maybe this is the survivor equivalent of being able to hit a killer when you're nowhere near them to land the attack?
Translation: DbD hitboxes = broken as all hell.
-
The only real issue for punishing DCers I see comes from the game itself. Yesterday being a prime example, I got kicked out of two to three lobbies and matches for "No Network Connection" but didn't skip a beat on Twitch and Discord, not disconnecting once or dropping frames. Hopefully that side of things will be fixed when dedicated servers come.
-
To the people bitching about my internet: When everyone else in my lobby is sitting at a solid 87-100 and you bounce between 100-800 it isn't my fault. Fix your own god damned net.

@Orion said:
Play those killers exclusively and make them DC more to the point that they get banned, just like they deserve.
Honestly I'm planning on writing an article that basically implies, "Please keep dcing in the games I play so at some point in time, I don't have to put up with you anymore."
-
Current "counters" that I've used and experienced are the same you see a lot of people use against Leatherface players: running in a circle around a wide tree or wide and tall rock. Also much like Leatherface, Plague can down you with relative ease on a straight stretch with zero structures around. Basically you just need to constantly break LoS with her.
-
@Hoodedfengm1n yeah sorry about that. It's so bad I can't commit it to memory lol.
-
Step one: Keep FMT the current stats it has.
Step two: Get rid of the current Irridescent Cassette.
Step three: Replace said ultra rare with FMT.
Honestly FMT's only real issue is that it's rarity is too low. Make it cost more and harder to get and that'll fix a lot.
-
Strictly based upon how the ones I get matched up against generally play:
5: Trapper
4: Pig
3: Nurse
2: Wraith
1: Leatherface
The people I usually get as these killers personify the stereotypes of tunneling camping pricks. Leatherface obviously being the most notorious.
I don't mind dying to people. My issue stems from people who go out of their way to either camp or break off of chases with other survivors for the sole purpose of tunneling the recently rescued into oblivion. These five are the ones I experience doing it the most.
-
I'll refer to a killer as a potential baby or babu privately to myself or to the people in VC with me and then try and offer some advice in end game lobby if they're willing to hear it.
-
I refer to Legion as the Schrodinger's Cat of killers. Simultaneously being one of the strongest and weakest at the same time.
-
I think the people calling her weak, especially at red ranks, are forgetting that a lot of people weren't prepped in advance for the PTB in terms of bloodpoints and dailies. As such, fully prepped squads of survivors were facing off against a person not yet used to the killer they had just received and were doing so with 1-3 perks at best, odds are not even at max rank of said perk.
In terms of the killer herself, I only really managed to get about 6-7 matches in but I throughly enjoyed what I saw of her. She's a lot more balanced then Legion that's for certain and can easily be tweeked without totally shattering the meta.
While certainly not a weak killer I do feel she needs a couple tweaks. As I've said a couple times, her melee attacks feel a little wonky, almost as though her lunge range isn't quite as long as other killers are. I also don't feel like, for whatever reason, every hatchet-sized chunk of puke is capable of hitting a survivor. It feels like only every 2-3 chunks of vomit are capable of doing anything to a survivor.
She, and the chapter as a whole, definitely feel in a whole lot better place then chapter 10 did and I look forward to seeing how the tweaks come for her down the road.

To be fair, Pig is kind of forgettable, unfortunately.
Don't make me use this RBT....

I actually run DWS with one of the blades that increase mend time and just make everyone take forever to do everything as I slowly pick them off one at a time. Works quite well actually.
-
Had a guy who locked into my lobby with 750ish ping. Could never hit him and he bragged about how he used his lag to beat me. Since that point, any time I see a red ping lock in, I end my killer lobby.
