  • Well you wanted the one-hook moris to stop. That's how.
  • Welcome to dealing with 85%-90% of Leatherface mains done in Huntress form. You get hooked, and are either camped, tunneled and hooked again immediately after hooking, or remove option two's immediate hooking and replace it with a Mori.

The fix to this? Make Ebony Moris only work on death hook.
  • Happens to me a lot. For quick and easy fix, open your task manager and look up your active processes. You can shut it down from there even if the window for DbD isn't open.
  • Hey now as an Ace main I'm offended slightly by that hashtag. He's mama's beautiful boy after all!

But yeah I'd love some more Ace love that wasn't quite as goofy looking as fun as some of his stuff is ^_^
  • @BadMrFrosty I hear yah. Que times for killer were terrible during this past event so I tried some survivor, and it didn't matter what rank I reached, either my teammates killed me or I got tunneled. Hence why I've basically only been playing Warframe till the event hype dies down.
  • Well that removes my need to write an article on the subject... you've basically written everything I was going to say and you're 100% correct on all points. ^_^
  • P3 Claudettes both when I'm survivor and killer. Killer because they are damned impossible to see and survivor because they are generally some of the most selfish farming pricks who are in it for themselves more than any other survivor/killer besides Leatherface.
  • @TwistedRusty yes and no. While the idea of internet going out and not wanting to punish for that is great, the amount of people that DC the moment they are hit, the moment they are hit with Franklin's, the moment they are dropped to the dying state, the moment they miss a d-strike, the moment they are hook, the moment an ally misses a skill check. God pallet dropped? DC. Someone got to that chest before you? DC. All of these happen all the god damned time in a staggering amount.

All of these circumstances are literally things I have bore witness to. These are things that need to be punished. Yes it sucks for the person who's internet goes down, but we live in a world where it's come to the point that we must enforce the idea of, "This is why we can't have nice things."
  • As much as I think the 8v2 game mode would be interesting I just feel like it would be much of the same.

One idea I'm in the process of working on is 4v2v4 where two teams of survivors work against one another to be the one team allowed to escape due to limited resources all the while two killers are out there to eliminate them.
  • There's a reason why the green into purple ranks is full of face campers because that's about as high as they're generally able to get.
  • The issue Howling Grounds honestly had was the fact that at the same time they did THAT they also had the double Nurse Stun as well as the "it doesn't matter when you pallet slam or blind the killer, they're dropping the survivor once animation is done" thing. Flashlight ghostbuster squads would go around and chain blind killers, sabo squads would go around and break every event hook.

I honestly don't know who really drew first blood globally in that event to try and screw over the other side, but that event caused me to quit DbD for like two months.
  • It was implemented a while ago and stated on the dev stream to prevent killers from knocking down the individual immediately upon unhooking alongside the hooking of a Survivor removing exhaustion. It was designed to help counter campers. Now you actually have to time your blows.

If you time them properly people will fall down just about as quick, but if you don't they'll get a jump on you as you do your full wipe animations. In short, pay attention to how long the person has been unhooked for otherwise you're just screwing yourself.
  • They seemed to have issues with texts and backgrounds as I recall this being an issue on the forums this past year around the time of their inception.
  • Match began with a cut coin offering so I went to the basement. Heard the TR and hid in a locker. Ended up in said locker  beside an insidious basement bubbah next to a chest with no one in the basement besides him and me. Was an interesting voice chat with the people I was SWFing with lol.
  • yes said:

I absolutely HATE it whenever a survivor is about to be killed on the hook but they're saved at the last moment. It makes me frustrated. I HATE last-second saves.

I don't mind them if it's the first person hooked and their teammates have literally done nothing the entire time. It's like come on! Get him for crying out loud!
  • It honestly depends on the circumstances. Right up in the hooked person's face for no real reason holds no purpose beyond doing so to flashlight clicking d-striking pricks. At that point it's just cathartic lol.

But if you hook someone and see scratch marks nearby, see no one on BBQ, spot a foot or a hand dart around a corner, there's an open gate RIGHT THERE, or someone is LITERALLY attempting to loop you near the hooked person, it's not camping it's defending.

All those people that bitched about BBQ being overpowered and in need of more defense to fight it are now having to deal with the fact that YES the killer can no longer see the other three of you inside that locker or with Distortion, but now the killer has no reason to leave since the three of you might be right there for the instant save. In doing so light camping has now been encouraged.
  • 0_o so you're leaving the survivor on the hook to go on a decent distance patrol, return after a little bit to see if anyone's stopped by, and repeating the process until either the hooked survivor is dead, rescued, or you find someone else?

That's not camping, that's the survivors being morons for not rescuing when you are obviously nowhere around...

My jaw has dropped on more than one occasion where I hook someone like 2-3 minutes into a match and they almost die on hook while I'm on the other side of the map...

I've said it on multiple occasions: while tunneling and camping killers can be an issue, the thing that's most likely to keep you from pipping up in rank are your allies.
  • If he had just stayed there without attacking you or hooking you and left you body blocked in the basement then yes that would be bannable. Since he one shot you down and hooked you it's just more of a dick move.
  • 0_o wasn't aware of that bug. Generally that "bug" as people refer to it are individuals who get the RBT put on their heads on the other side of an invisible line around the exit gate the devs had put in place to prevent Pigs from just dropping survivors inside and instantly killing them. If that happens you're able to leave the match with the trap still on your head.

Also I wouldn't put her at top tier. She's DEFINITELY mid. She still has hard counters with looping and can't instant down to compensate. Doesn't make her bad, just that she has the weaknesses of many M1 killers.
  • I respect that it's your opinion... but Pig is not worse than Legion or Wraith. Pig has actual game control with the RBTs and legit mind games based on Dash, so as long as you know how to do it.

Pig is a game of chess. Once you get a RBT on someone you have to decide when to apply your next one. For as long as that player is wearing a RBT, they are essentially removed from the main objectives to the game. This is even more true on larger maps when Survivors literally have to run to the other side of the map to get to the next box, running the risk of Game Overs occurring.

I would respectfully ask for you to reconsider her position on your list.
  • @HatCreature awww thank you! Also Merry Christmas or whatever it is you celebrate!

Just remembered another quick thing. That video tape add-on (for the life of me can't remember the name) you can use it to counter Dead Hard plays to dodge your dash attack. I've got to redo my commentary on one of my Pig recordings, but in it was a moment when a David Dead Harded through me, and with a quick flick I was able to spin back around and drop him. It has a fair amount of mobility once you learn how to use it.
  • First and foremost, unless you're going to pull the backwards walk thing like a bunch of Legion players seem to be doing, don't expect many if any kills from RBTs.

Also on that subject, if the last remaining survivor has an active RBT on their head, just go crouch on top of hatch. The number of people that will attempt to shove you off instead of saving themselves is mind numbing.

Don't bother with any add-ons that give status effects or affect Jigsaw Box skill checks. Not worth your time.

Combat straps are broken in a good way. While it states it only SLIGHTLY increases the speed of a crouch it literally cuts the time in half.

Amanda's Letter is not junk, it's the same thing as a Scratched Mirror for Myers: ie VERY map dependent.

Do not be afraid if you get a big map because they have the potential to keep the RBT wearers off of gens for that much longer since there are more boxes and generally more spread out. It's also on these bigger maps you'll see the most RBT related deaths.

Do not blow through all your RBTs right off. Try to keep it to one to two survivors at a time. If it looks like you're getting gen rushed, try and save some for the end since they can not leave if they're wearing one except through hatch.

Some people specifically target RBT wearers right off the hook but that's not a good strategy as far as I'm concerned since you've removed that individual from working on generators for the duration they wear one. It CAN work as a strategy but only so far as any ordinary camping/tunneling strategy can work in that if the survivors stop being altruistic, you're screwed.
  • Legion gets you the most empty feeling rank ups in the game. While some people look at four survivors escaping with 30k BP and think "Job well done." You get your pip and carry on.

I understand that people think this is acceptable, but I'm not among them. When I play a Killer in DbD, I do it with the intention to actually KILL people as the name implies. To not kill anyone or BARELY kill one person makes me feel that, even though I ranked up and got lots of BP, it was all a waste of time. That it was not earned. A win for me as the killer is two or more people being impaled by Entity spikes, rising to the sky every match.

Legion does not give me that feeling. Legion is an easy pass to rank up and nothing more.
  • To use an example: A story that I heard about was a survivor on the Thomson's House map that went into the house for the second floor chest, having had a RBT on their head and it was beeping. The Pig followed behind him, and body blocked him in against the chest until the RBT killed him. Now while this is dirty, underhanded, and totally the survivor's fault for 1.) not paying attention to his surroundings and 2.) looting a chest while his head is in the process of exploding, it's TECHNICALLY not bannable. HOWEVER, if the survivor in question did not have a RBT on their head, and the pig had just held him there, leaving the survivor unable to do anything, that would be a bannable body block.

  • Pig: STBFL, Ruin, Pop Goes, and filler based on what I see.

Hag: M&A, Tinkerer, Bitter Murmur, BBQ&Chili

Clown: Coulrophobia, Thanatophobia, Ruin, Distressing with Sulfuric Acid and Garish Makeup Kit add-ons.
  • Engine changes: 6. I like the immersive feel now, but all the audio glitches and increased corn blindness aren't entirely worth it for me.

New Map: 5 1/2. I mean the place is essentially Asylum 2.0 in terms of jungle gym. That coupled with the game crashing people experienced which lead to the map being shut off really makes this chapter feel rushed.

New Survivor: 10. This guy is awesome both in design and perks. Absolutely love him.

New Killer: 3. Legion is such a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, I love the idea of a high mobility killer who's all about leaping over things to accomplish their goals. On the other hand, Legion isn't balanced for #########, if you'll pardon my language. There is no real feeling of challenge or desperation as a survivor or the killer when it's Legion. You either escape, woohoo...., or you get the person, woohoo part deux. There are no long, arduous fights where you and the survivor are fighting tooth and nail, trying to either escape or slay, and one finally managing to eke out the other. It is literally just one extreme or the other. The feeling as well of obtaining a pip without having even killed anyone is very hollow as well. I'm not sure what can be fully done outside of the level of rework that Freddy is supposedly getting, but something needs to be done.

Overall average: 6.125. There's a reason this release has been considered "a game in this bug." Too many game breaking glitches and a lackluster, hollow feeling killer for me to do more than give a slightly better than average score. If it weren't for Jeff this chapter would suck.
  • Honestly a chase against Legion goes one extreme or the other. Either A: you loop them for eternity and they never land a blow or B: they land every hit and down you. Now while you theoretically can have matches like that against other killers, there are also those "in between" chases where it's tough and hard fought, but one side barely manages to eke out the other. Legion's not like that. Either every blow hits, or no blows hit.
  • Added some more Killer perk ideas
  • @wladimiiir the only real use it has is if you down an injured person with a basic M1 and there's someone right next to them you can frenzy to. The problem with it is the same problem the add-on for cooldown reduction has where, yes you CAN chase after people without a full bar of Frenzy, but if it's not enough you're left like Leatherface who let go of his saw at 99.99% charged.
  • All the bad add-ons and glitches screwing with Legion atm:

Cooldown: pointless unless you're right up someone's butt. It only moves the point you can activate the power to a lesser value but means it runs out that much quicker.

Movement Speed: supposedly glitch and not doing anything as of now.

Reduced Energy Loss: Only useful for slugging someone and hoping that person nearby is close enough to hit with not a full Frenzy bar. See cooldown for details.

The Irridescent Add-Ons: Seem powerful but their requirements are not fully justified. Needing to be in a very temporary state to see generator auras puts your power on cooldown. You're also RARELY going to get every person with the Button variant and the requirement for needing to have hit someone for the pallet break to work makes for a factor that does not always happen.

Increased Mending Time: Potentially useful, but with the way the engine has screwed up the mixer volumes of survivor's in pain, all survivors might as well have a low ranked Iron Will making it next to impossible to track them down.

Let's also not forget about the fact that you can't track scratch marks when frenzied. Normally that would be alright since you can follow the blood except that the blood only squirts out twice currently then ignores the next five to eight before starting up again.

And for the coup de grace: if a survivor dc's on your shoulder as Legion, it can screw with your frenzy HARD.  You basically move at slightly faster then base movement and it stays that way until you hook someone new.
  • Makes sense for the cool down the amount of power needed to start frenzy, which at that low is utterly useless.
Unless you're right up someone's butt, yeah I agree. Honestly that would basically be the only really worthwhile time.
  • So I've gotten two conflicting arguements on this.

One side says that the "cooldown" is the duration of time you are fatigued

A different person is telling me the "cooldown" is the point when the ability has recharged enough for you to use it again.

So under this circumstance, recharge time is how fast the bar fills and cooldown time is where the location the needle is that the recharge time needs to reach before you can use the power again.

Anyone have any idea at this point as to which is accurate?
  • What I'd give to be able to hack the corn down with my weapon...
  • Not going to lie I'm curious about that stuff and what MCoteism we're going to get pertaining to Legion and/or Deep Wounds.
  • @Zanfer yes but there's no real finishing blow. Sure you can't stop his first frenzied attack but then what? Without top tier add-ons Legion is stuck smacking you 3-4 more times before you finally go down. And each time they smack you, they get Nurse stunned, and you get a speed boost.
  • @Tzeentchling9 THANK YOU! I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt that way...
  • Honestly if ANY CHANGE like that were to be made it would have to be "Deep Wounds ticks down at a 50%-75% slower rate when in a chase" would be a better choice. RBTs not ticking down makes sense when in a chase because they will kill you. Deep Wounds does not since it puts you it the dying state. If they did this change though they would need to lower the time it takes to mend probably slightly to counter.
  • Hillbilly is definitely a good option. If you're brand new to the killer side of things, can't go wrong with Trapper either. If you get good at your trap placements things can snowball VERY quickly.

As for general perks for usage, Enduring from Billy is good for recovering from pallet stuns. If you can either get Hag for Ruin or snag it off shrine that's a good call too.
  • @TheCatLady oh I truly wish I were joking about that quote lmfao. The salt in that end game chat was real.
  • If Legion were truly doing the same, it would feel like that. I dunno though
  • That's the thing though gnomes feel faster because they're covering the same distance at the same speed.
  • It might honesty just be an illusion of lack of speed due to the height. I just really feel as though I can cover more distance FASTER as Huntress.
  • Speaking of Legion's speed, did they take their size into account when setting the speed? Because I feel like I move faster as Huntress when i try to melee someone and she's  LOT taller.
  • I thought that too. Give it time. My first match I managed multiple people hooked and managed to get one killed. It was the first time I had played them. The following ten matches or so didn't go as well.
  • Didn't need to. Had all the info I needed from various videos and streams.

Once I got them live, they actually played worse then what I thought they'd be. As was said, you can 4k with anyone, particularly if survivors have their heads shoved firmly up their rears.

Plus you're on console and if the stories I hear ring true, PC killers that hop over to console generally wreck shop.
  • "You're not allowed to use NOED unless you use a killer that has Frosty Eyes and must use that cosmetic to alert the survivors that you have NOED!!! How else can we counter it?!"

    If only I were joking...
  • @Zavri Welcome to World of Warcraft post the South Park episode, "Make Love Not Warcraft." The moment casual interest hyped up due to it, the game was made face rollingly boring and dull.

Lo that just after Dedicated Servers get announced, which is CERTAINLY going to draw interest from newer players, they release a misleading trailer that multiple online articles take at face value. Even to some extent Polygon. They then release the killer without paying attention to the people that constantly surprise them with mechanics they never meant to exist but enjoy. If we are so much more knowledgeable about the game then they are, why do we only have our opinions taken "with a grain of salt?"
  • Actually had a better thought: All exposed effects function normally, but consume the full bar of Feral Frenzy, forcing a stun.
  • So my current list of potential Legion changes:

Red Stain removal when not frenzied.

Allow for better PoV WHEN frenzied so you don't LOSE people the moment you hit them...

Remove the power drain when you cancel the power yourself or do a regular melee attack.

Increase the amount of time it takes to mend from a Legion Deep Wounds, not necessarily the Borrowed Time Deep Wounds.

Have Frenzied attacks do more damage to the Deep Wounds bar by default.

Allow Rancor normal usage when Frenzied and other Exposed mechanics to function like normal if the target already has Deep Wounds on them.

SLIGHTLY increase the length of time Feral Frenzy lasts by default.
  • Legion's interaction with Deep Wounds definitely needs to be better. Also I suggest keeping Mending the same length of time for the purpose of Borrowed time but allow Legion's default Frenzied attacks to make the time take longer.
