    MMR is broken for sure.

    1. Queue times for survivors are literally 5 seconds even at 3 AM. There doesn't exist any matchmaking system that works with such low queue time. Just look around every other game has at least ~30 sec queue.
    2. Many regular players have reported winrates that are exceedingly far from 50%, My winrate as killer is over 85%, this should not be possible in a MMR-based matchmaking.
    3. One game I get a lobby with prestiges 0+ and no items, then I dodge and requeue instantly and I get prestiges 10+.

Clearly the "matchmaking" is just throwing people in lobbies as fast as possible.

Yup. I’ve been complaining we need longer que times for more fairer/quality matches, and what do they do? Go in the opposite direction.

    It is

You shouldnt rely on perks that activate when teammates die or lose health close to you.

Yea I agree. It happens, but it’s too situational to get value, for my taste. Sometimes your teammates get downed or hit too close to you, and you’re forced to move in fear of the killer switching his attention on you- if he hears your groaning or sees you in his peripheral. I’m assuming it’ll still be active if you make it somewhere safe to heal, in that scenario.

For those who don't know, Masahiro Ito is the original designer of Pyramid Head and has said he dislikes how that original design has since been used, as it was specifically made for James. This was apparently disregarded for Pyramid Head's lore in DBD where he is stated to appear in Cheryl's dreams despite the two having absolutely no connection whatsoever.

The White Hunter design seen in this tweet was apparently made to resolve this, as it doesn't hold the same connection to James while still maintaining what makes the design so recognizable.

Personally I think with James being in the game now the original design staying is fine, but a White Hunter outfit would be great.

    I agree.

  • Yea i noticed it too. I’m an RE fan but I don’t enjoy going against him- especially since he’s popular. And feeling like I’m always the unlucky one to get picked via Lethal Pursuer doesn’t help either. Damn I hate that perk.

  • I agree- he does look fun and cool. They nailed it by giving him the throw and slam options. Content creators say it’s satisfying. I’ll just enjoy throwing toxic players into each other.

it'll never be nerfed most people who suggest swf nerfs get rightfully mocked by everyone in the community

I agree it’ll never be nerfed, but I find it interesting that a statement and a thread like this were made. It’s almost like just the idea threatens/scares people. No one deserves ridicule for having an unpopular opinion/hot take. It’s just a difference of opinion and nothing immoral.

  • I think silencing survivor groans would be a bit much- the killer needs some sort of notification that you’re close by. Sometimes when a killer is looking for hatch, he happens to see some faded scratch marks & pools of blood heading away from the direction he was heading in (I’ve been on both ends of this situation), so Low Profile will help with this. If that injured last survivor is running it, the killer wouldn’t be able to pick up the survivor’s tracks, thus continuing on his original path, and the survivor chances of finding hatch or opening the exit gate may increase.

  • I can’t imagine being a new survivor player in 2022 for DBD. ######### is constantly changing, and there are so many game mechanics you have to recognize/remember. I’m struggling to keep up as a year 3 player.

  • Your post just made me envision you opening the exit gate, and walking out of the trial in disgust. 🤣🤣🤣

lol that might not be a bad idea actually… maybe hit a button prompt to submit when the entity puts up its wall. Maybe it can devour the killer and allow him to move on, while survivors stay and play around until the EGC timer is done.

  • They earned that right. Fog whisperers don’t ragequit and they get targeted like everyone else. BHVR can’t tell if the rest of us are just as noble as the fog whisperers. There’s just a few of them and they’re on record as being good sports. What can you do? 🤷

You don't have to cleanse the totems just remember where they are and check them once gates are powered. If you clease the totems you might shoot yourself on foot if one well hidden totem remains.

I’d rather attempt to prevent it, then take a chance the survivor gets hooked by one of the totems I made a “mental note” of- now turned NOED. 😂

Also, me personally I have it down to a science. Once I’ve made an effort to be proactive, it’s rare I can’t find it after it’s active. And even rarer if one of my teammates can’t find it (as long as they too are looking). It has happened, but I rather play the numbers and the odds are usually in my favor.

No its survivor sided, you dont need to be in a swf to be good... if you have to rely on coms are you actually good?

Solo Q sucks because you get DCs and teammates completely different mmr to you that cant even do a gen or skill checks.... but that dont mean 4 good solos still cant easily win.

The higher you go in mmr the more survivor sided it goes and it's why killers like nurse and blight are used to try have a chance.

You cant say the games not survivor sided because people are bad and cant play, survivors have all the tools to make most games in their favour it's up to them to utilise it.

I already acknowledged most of your talking points- why re-iterate & reword them as a rebuttal? They’re still the minority- they’re not even half. They’re just plain rare.

You and I will have to agree to disagree on what is in higher MMR, cause most people will tell you it’s indeed SWF’s. Watch any of your favorite streamer (ESPECIALLY pre-patch 6.0) and you’ll see them encounter more SWF’s than 4 god tier unicorn solos working well together. These same streamers who are IN HIGH MMR ARE EVEN ON RECORD SAYING IT THEMSELVES! There is so friggin many of these SWF’s, matchmaking has to give them low-mid MMR killers just to meet demand. You see the threads on here complaining “why am I going against a High MMR SWF when I barely play killer, and/or learning a new killer for the first time??

And what good are the “tools’ if potato solos don’t know how to use them? The only ‘tools” they know how to use are the ones allowing them to ragequit. And please don’t dismiss that, because you’ve seen this forum flooded over the past two weeks with DC complaint threads. That’s solo Que for you. That’s not high MMR, and that’s nothing close to being survivor sided like a SWF on comms. DBD is SWF sided, like every other asymmetrical game before and after it. As a solo survivor, I’m not getting pigeonholed into anyones box.

  • @Grum said:

There is nothing you can do to make people play a match that they don't want to.

But you can minimize the opportunities these entitled babies have, to disconnect on a match they don’t want to play. I seriously can’t fathom why these asshats keep coming back like lemmings, expecting their next gaming session to be any less frustrating/fun. They ragequit over the dumbest ######### like being found first- really??? Do you think someone with this mind frame can handle a game with Pinhead using Plaything & Pentimento? Hell no! They’ll disconnect so fast, their router will have an orgasm. Extend the time so someone ELSE who will at least TRY, can be in that lobby of the Pinhead game, saving the other 3 good sport solos a majors headache (they’ll still lose PH w/ those perks btw, 😜 but at least they could put up a fight).

  • I disagree. I always felt NOED should have been left alone & not nerfed. It’s an endgame perk that doesn’t guarantee you’ll always get kills. Run it enough and you’ll get a fair amount of matches where survivors will either stop it from activating by doing totems, or find it relatively quickly before you get serious value from it. Ofc there are plenty of matches where the killer can capitalize and turn a game around because of it, but the numbers aren’t something crazy like 90% of the time.

It just feels real bad when you’re the first one to fall victim to it, especially if you’ve been in chase healthy for a while, and then the last gen pops. Add more salt to the wound if your teammates can’t find the totem or are too scared to look for it, then you die on first hook. It’s somewhat hit or miss to use, with a few criteria favoring the killer (as it should)

After a while, you tend to get a feel for who is a “NOED user” during the match. A lot of newbies who whiff and hit objects and or lose track of survivors easily tend to flock to it, and understandably so. That’s when you make sure you cleanse as many totems as you come across, or actively pursue doing them. Remember, there are 5 totems within close proximity to 5 out of the 7 gens. Two gens do not have a totem associated with it, so if you can’t find one close to a gen- move on. Chances are it’s one of the two that doesn’t have one, so don’t waste time on it. Move in a clockwise or counterclockwise position (based on location of killer if you know or have an idea) over the map and try to knock ‘em out in order so you don’t lose track of your progress. That’s what I do, anyway.

  • Even if player count was dropping, it will rise significantly when Resident Evil and Stranger Things drop their second chapters. Everything will be fine. BHVR just needs to balance in small increments moving forward, and not with a heavy hand.

  • I second it. Nerf this overpowered b*#%h.

  • I wish you guys would be MORE specific- it’s SWF sided, not survivor sided. Yea SWF’s are a part of survivors, but so are solos and they’re two completely different worlds. Trust me. And yes, I know there are sucky SWF’s and good 4 man solos, but they’re the minority matches. Your average SWF is actually pretty decent at the game and they benefit from the comms advantage, while your average solo are mostly super casuals who are entitled potatoes, making the games miserable for decent solo players. I resent the whole “survivor sided” statement, because it’s usually coming from killer mains who don’t understand the solo experience, & just lump us all into one basket.

Otzdarva got lightburned in his most recent video lol

That’s because he got impatient and he admitted it. But in his defense, that flashlight lasted a hell of a long time. I would have just kept dodging like he was doing until it was completely out. He tried to decloak when he assumed it would be out. They guy was injured so he would have have caught up and downed him in 2/3 seconds.

That also got me thinking they really should show the other survivors what perks everyone on the survivor team is using shouldn't they, its outrageous considering swf already know.

If they do, it would have to during the match and not in the lobby. Don’t want to give the lobby dodgers another reason to leave. ‘Not running meta perks? I’m out.’

  • @Mewishis said:

    Use distortion enough said.

He put he uses Distortion in the OP. When he’s spawns with someone else or the whole team (which happens more now than before) it defeats the purpose. The other auras bring the killer to that area, thus wasting a token and potentially putting him in chase first.

What you are saying is that they should balance killer perks the way they balance survivor perks.

Huh? No. How did you manage to turn this into a “us vs. them??” Nothing in my statement remotely suggested that. Cmon now. Sigh.

When they are attempting to nerf or buff something, do a little at a time. So when they were trying to nerf COH, they nerfed it once- didn’t like the numbers, then nerfed it again (might have actually been 3 times total but I can’t remember). The good thing about how they handled it, was the moderation. They didn’t overdo it in one shot.

  • The devs really should do balances in moderation. Like how they handled COH. That’s how they should approach every perk.

Yea I don’t understand why they don’t allow cross-progression for Switch.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Performance sucks. The framerate is low, the sensitivity is bad, input latency causes a lot of problems, and since a recent update the frame drops have gotten worse. Survivor is okay (hitting skill checks reliably is an issue, and difficult skill checks like the one on Decisive Strike are nearly impossible, making DS absolutely unusable) but I find killer almost unplayable.

I have to play with cross-play on otherwise I don't get matches, so the number of hackers I get would be the same as anyone else with cross-play on. I don't see a lot of hackers (as far as I know, anyway, but maybe they're just not obvious about it), but I'm at a really low MMR and hackers are usually at a high MMR from what I hear.

Switch is included in crossplay?! 😳 I DIDN’T KNOW THAT!! I thought DBD Switch were on different servers. Those performance issues sound terrible. So playing on Switch with crossplay on put you at a serious disadvantage? Overcharge & Oppresion must be impossible to hit.

  • Damn that sucks. Impressive streak though- most cant do 10 with those rules let alone 17. Good job.

Yea, its not a straight shot between exit gates no matter the RnG in Pallet Town. Too many lengthy obstacles to curve around.

  • I 100% agree. It was already a great perk that was catching on. The sooner the killer gets into a chase, the better. I don’t think anyone saw that perk being good, when Nemmie dropped. I sure as hell didn’t. Now it adds 2 seconds to aura reading? Pairs well with Barbecue, Dark Devotion, and Scourge Floods.

I’ve read about that and I can see why some survivors would try to rebel against this patch as some would say. But anyway all I’m saying is I don’t really believe it since I’ve seen it from my killer games. I probably may have to give solo survivor another go to see what is really going on since I haven’t played much survivor lately.

Let’s not give this any light. This is one of those things that if you keep mentioning it, sheep will start to buy into it and actually do it. If this was the case, players would just DC at the beginning of the match or run straight to the killer nearly every other game or so. These entitled players actually try, get outplayed, then ragequit like babies just as they always have before. It’s just more started doing it out of frustration- not to manipulate numbers. I really wish that “content creator” didn’t meme this theory. Smh.

  • There is a skill to it if done properly. I’ve seen players do it and still not get hit. I personally can’t do it. I’ve tried & failed every time. I guess you need to have great map awareness and be a good judge of distance.

  • When we complain about solo que in this patch, it’s because it’s worse. We’ve been complaining about the solo experience for over a year now (because of MMR). We really resent it when players are dismissive of our frustration. We have a valid grievance. The whole “get gud” response is tiring. BHVR was heavy handed in a lot of the changes, so some of it does have to do with the patch. Ofc the entitled ragequitters are not helping the situation.

  • Have you played Revelations 2? Great and underrated game. Which the consoles had online play.

  • There are- but it doesn’t matter cause they’re still all #########.

  • How did I know “killing yourself” was going to be the “counter?” 😑

  • Empathetic Connection has a healing buff?? I agree- it needs to be map wide to upgrade it from an almost useless to a bad perk.

  • She’s Queen in Shelter (the irony- very little shelter) Woods. That map needs to be reworked as well. What’s good for the Goose…

  • @Piruluk said:

She is a relic from the past when game was an extremely casual experience with lot of overpowered option, like instantly doing gen with toolbox add-on , or infinite loops, or Mori after one down, blendettes ruling the dark maps with supreme stealth.

Today dbd is evolved and trying to be more of competitive game, and taking every fun option from survivor players, maps are brightened up, no longer possible to break LOS on most maps, or the options are severly limited, not to mention the extremely long list of aura reading perks. In short every countermeasure is disabled vs Nurse.

She doesn't play the same game like any other killer, she has no limitations, it doesn't matter what survivors are doing, she is playing against herself. If Nurse player avoid making any mistake, she is guaranteed to win every time.

Is it really good argument letting her to stay extremely overpowered just because she is hard to learn?

She doesn't belong into the game anymore, especially since everything that was unfair to killers, taken from survivors.

Its time for Nurse to be reworked, to be not a free win for a dedicated killer player.

Statistically she always be underpowered, since on console she can't reach the level which possible on pc, so console data providing the justification to be untouchable right now

I agree with her not fitting into modern DBD. But I have to disagree with implying console Nurses are hurting her stats due to a gap in controls. PlayStation & Xbox Nurse mains will tell you they can still hang with the best of PC players- they just need to get a little creative or work a little harder sometimes.

I’ve had matches where I thought the nurse was on PC, stomped me & 3 of my PC teammates, and then when I look at the end screen- it was a fellow Xbox player. Same with Blight. I have to tip my hat to those players.

  • From my experience, there was a sudden uptick/surge prior to this update. I want to say this is the “graduating class of 2022” for players who put in the time to learn how to play her & be effective with her. But you’re correct in noticing there are more now. Same for me as well. I’m getting them back to back more frequently and they all have her best add-ons (feels like every f’n killer does TBH), with Agitation, Starstruck, Infectous, and a Scourge Hook. Very frustrating to play against.

  • @Jinxed said:

I could be wrong, but I was always under the impression that survivor players on average play more casually than killer players.

Where a lot of killer players take the game much more seriously and consider nothing less than a 3k a loss, survivors tend to play the game to chill out and have fun and dying half of the time is okay as long as you got to do a few fun things in the game and give it your best try, even better when you get your teammates out.

The main problem with this patch in my eyes, is that survivor players now have to sweat profusely in order to get a win. Slamming gens, being an extremely efficient looper, being able to read every mind game. I just don't think that the majority of the survivor player base plays the game that way, and that's one of the main reasons that so many are threatening to leave or have already left.

For the top 10% of survivor main SWF who already loved to bully killers and were really good in chase nothing has really changed, but for the average survivor the entire game feels unbalanced.

Killers are still tunnelling, gens take forever to complete, and survivor perks aren't rewarding anymore. Not to mention the amount of rage quitting that happens in solo queue. There just isn't much fun to be had if you're a solo survivor anymore, and that is the main issue.

Very well written. Well said. I agree.

    @HugTheHag said:

    I wholeheartedly agree.

People who say this update is the fairest thing in the whole wide world think of 4-man SWFs as the norm, when they're 5% of the survivor playerbase. The casual 50+% of survivors are not having a good time with the update.

The people against whom this update was made (high tier swfs) already know how to loop, and mindgame, and escape. They'll adapt and still bully if they feel like it.

It's casual players who are taking the brunt of the bad sides of the update.

I agree with you as well.

    @ThiccBudhha said:

It is starting to annoy me a bit, to be perfectly honest. With everyone throwing, the game is not really fun as a survivor or a killer. It was alright at first, but it has been happening in literally every game so it is starting to get to me slightly.

This is the first time there are skins I like (AOT), but I didn’t buy. I’ve been saying for the longest I need to stop supporting this game financially because it’s getting less fun. This last patch really killed the fun factor for me, so I put my foot down and kept my money. I will however, purchase the RE Chapter because Resident Evil is my favorite videogame franchise of all time, but that’s going to be the last DLC I buy until the fun meter starts to go in the right direction again. I’m putting my money where my mouth is, and I’m going to let it do the talking for me.

DBD game design is OUTDATED. I know the devs said they are not going to make a sequel and many agree with that, but I personally think it’s a bad business model. Everyone would benefit from a new game that doesn’t put the power for you to have fun, ENTIRELY in the opposition’s side. A Killer shouldn’t have a miserable time because friends playing together trumps nearly everything he/she can do. To the point that only 2 out of how many killer(?) can only compete. That’s bad design. Then there is the flip side- a killer shouldn’t have the power to pick a random target and tunnel them out the game, literally making it so that player couldn’t do anything other than run away. It doesn’t matter if the killer threw the entire match just to kill that one survivor- the point is that player had 0 chance of having fun. BAD DESIGN.

  • Are you attempting this with 3 of your friends?

What is it that makes it feel so much worse now?

Curious- what did the folks you know say when you asked them? Did it cause a debate or any tension? Did they criticize you for doing it?

  • Leaving everyone to bleed out on the floor falls on the jerk using the perk, not the perk itself. Now if the killer has a slugging build, then the perk comes in super handy vs. solos. The best sluggers don’t use it though, because it’s not effective against SWF’s who call out locations and has usually at least one person running Unbreakable. Just chalk it up to one of those things that has a purpose but can be used by ppl to help their toxicity. It’s design is not to encourage it. The few times I see it, the killer usually picks everyone up afterwards. Once in a while you will get that ahole who leaves every1 on the floor. Yea, F that guy.

  • It’s sad you had to put a disclaimer at the end for your build- really shows you the mindset of our community smh.

  • That’s absolutely ridiculous. I’ve been in that situation a few times, and that ######### is not fun trying to get one gen done but it keeps regressing due to Pain, Jolt, & PGTW. Then every time you hop back on it, you deal with Thano. Bonus points if Dying Light gets subbed somewhere in there, cuz then it’s really a party. 😑

  • I am completely baffled by both the devs & our forum members when it comes to BBQ in 2022. I was saying for the longest time (years) Barbecue was very powerful & more players should hide when killers use it. Then I got shunned for saying so. As a result, I just accepted it and treated every game like the killer had it and stayed out in the open like everyone else, in order to “share the aggro.” I never understood why extra BP was associated with it, but then I came to the conclusion that BHVR wanted to encourage killers to use it, since it would help killers find survivors much easier. And it worked. I threw my hands up and just chalked it up as “it is what it is.”

‘Now in 2022 out of nowhere, BHVR wants to remove the BP when the DBD Community has already adapted to its meta?? Now it’s gone because they don’t “want BP to be the reason a perk is selected??” That was the whole point why they had it attached to BBQ & WGLF! (BTW why is BP still on PT & TOTH??) But now the kicker is, I’m seeing more and more threads pop up criticizing or calling for Barbecue to get nerfed in 2022! Huh?? I feel like it’s waaaay too late for that now. After all these years we should be used to it already. There are other perks that need immediate attention.

  • I thought they said it would’ve been in the next patch (which we just had a little over 24 hours ago)?? Please tell me I didn’t mistake it for “next chapter..” 🤦

    Okay, so.

There's a weird thing about the MMR system in this game, where new killers are pegged 'slightly below' your highest killer, if certain info is to be believed. Perhaps it's slightly below your average, but I know it doesn't feel that way.

    It sucks.

For your first few games on your new killer, don't sweat the losses. Just focus on getting a feel for them.

Are you kidding me?? No wonder! That sucks!

1 … 11 12 13 14 15 … 40
