If "the gens are done" happens in your soloQ games often, you are indeed one lucky guy. It also seems nothing like "MMR hell" to me.
It goes back to what i was originally saying- you have to screw over your team when those opportunities present themselves, otherwise you dying while trying to help others when you had a chance to escape, just compounds on the losses from the other games with bad teammates. Thus leaving you in MMR hell to encounter more of those bad games. My post gave no suggestion of it happening often- only advising that one needs to take advantage of it when it does, in order to better position yourself to climb out.

Challenges like these are lame. They can do better than this if they put some thought into it.

Well said, but there is no excuse to DC/Ragequit unless there is a blatant/confirmed cheater. Idc if it’s Nurse, take your medicine like everyone else. Some of these ppl DC for the dumbest reasons, and many times had they just stayed in the game, they would’ve escaped. I’m talking me and THREE teammates getting all 5 gens done or down to 1, before us 3 all die. What does that tell you? If they stayed we would have either all got out or only 1/2 die instead of everyone. But they don’t even try. Just a bunch of quitting babies. And a lot of them are kids who have Fortnite, Roblox, and Fall Guys in their recent played list.
Sorry- meant me and TWO teammates. Can’t edit on iOS.

But they aren't bringing those, they are bringing green flashlights with 2 blind duration add-ons
they are also not bringing that perk.
What about Streetwise? And what about their teammates- did any of them have SW or B2L? Cause they could have just given them the torch to recharge or the SW boost while you’re picking them up.

Dang, thats rough. Playing Billy against half competent survivors already feels like a slog. Maybe we can do something about this and just nerf Pig?

I get bored as well, playing killer. Especially after winning 5 games in a row. I don’t know how people can enjoy playing Nurse for hours on end stomping players. I don’t find it fun. I prefer to be chased. It’s just the MM in this game pairing me up with inexperienced/bad players that make solo que tough to enjoy more than ever before.
-
Oh boy- you picked the absolute worst time to return. The last major update made solo que very difficult, and also seems to prioritize que times over fairer matches (better teammates & equally skilled killers).
The only way to climb MMR in solo is to escape every single opportunity you have. Do not try to help anyone after the gens are done. Open the gates and leave. You have to screw your team over unfortunately, and it’s because you take so many losses with deaths- that you need to counter as many as possible with a win (escape). And this still is not a guarantee because again, que times are prioritized so you’ll still occasionally get bad teammates once you’ve climbed. Be wary of entering lobbies where everyone is readied up and your teammates have low prestige levels, OG launch chars (Meg, Dwight, Claud., etc.) and old ass or default cosmetics (ESPECIALLY MEG WITH ANY MASK- DODGE!!!). That’s a perfect example of the game prioritizing que times, because the person before you left and matchmaking threw you in with less experienced players just to get the game filled as quickly as possible.
This really isn’t the best advice, so I apologize. I personally am stuck in MMR hell because my conscious won’t let me screw over my team. I usually try to help when gates are 99’ed and I’ve died many times because of it. And I think the reason for this is because I have been on the receiving end of many players sacrificing themselves for me, so I just try to pay it forward when it’s my turn to try and help.
-
That is absolutely the way to get out of low MMR, however my conscious prevents me from doing it. I always feel bad- like scum. I keep chasing that high of the red rank 1 days, where how you played mattered more than escaping- and you were mostly paired with fellow red ranks who played just as good as you.
-
For the love of Gawd, please turn off y’all end game chat instead of making threads about it on here. Jeezus.
-
I don’t know why y’all entertain these guys. When the match goes left, open the exit gate after the last gen is done & move farthest away from the gates till they leave. As soon as the match is over, go to your next match immediately. Do not even stick around for endgame chat.
-
The most fun i had in this game was when i was afraid, nervous, or uneasy. This is why I no longer get upset at immersive players. They’re still getting a kick out of the hide n go seek/cat & mouse horror mechanic. I envy them.
-
It’s rare for me now. If I do, it’s usually to confirm or see what perks the killer was running if they kept finding me hiding in spots I thought I was safe, or if they had a really nasty build with perks I couldn’t remember the full description/power.
-
I would have preferred for the devs to allow Reassurance to go live as is, then monitor it closely with their finger on the kill button. I don’t think it would have been abused greatly to the point where complaint threads would have started flooding in here. I think they had it right the first time.

You just throw a footat the killer to stun him so the teammates can get the unhook ^^ Also if we start to follow the rationality and logic of DbD mecanics, you should be able to recover that easily from a hook going through your chest or even be able to unhook yourself.
It was a joke. And if I can kick anyone in the face while I’m on hook, let it be my teammates who foolishly try to unhook me while the killer is chasing them.
-
I don’t know about you, Fran- but I don’t think I’d be in a position (or the mood) to taunt the guy who just placed a 6 inch wide hook through my shoulder blade. 😂

Nah, making her stay 1 min literally with no power is too harsh.
The two most needed nerfs respectively are: make her blinks special attacks & Remove her faster blinks (Already nerfed next patch).
I agree with this. Those are her two biggest problems. They are the reason why she’s able to consistently stomp survivors at 5 gens in the right hands. Make these adjustments and she’ll still keep her crown as number 1, but she won’t be destroying players so much.

I'd say they got most of the community outfits right with the sole exception being claudette's free style outfit.
Although a decent attempt, they messed up Legion’s “Never stop slashing,” as well: the backpack & the mask.

Everything that you listed is not useless.
Let’s agree to disagree.
It’s like I said in my previous statement- you don’t see our community using those add-ons, and there is a reason for that- they’re useless. Now when I say they’re useless, I don’t mean it in a literal sense. Obviously if someone REALLY wanted to try and get some value with it, they technically could. But it’s not worth the inventory slot when there are much better options/add-ons available. And that’s exactly what you see today whenever players equip key and maps (which in themselves are rare in 2022). So hence, the stuff i listed above are “useless.”
The points OP made are not literally “useless” either. But when you compare them to the other add-ons, they don’t hold a candle- and that’s why Bubbas don’t use them.
-
I agree. This should be a thing. However, there would need to be an option to remove them as well. The database should have a block list for you to remove players from that list. Also, you should get a warning that by doing so, your que times will increase. And the block shouldn’t be 100%, it should only decrease the likelihood of pairing up with these players. Cap at 100.
One last thing- it’ll only reduce your chances as being TEAMMATES with them- doesn’t work if they are the killer/opposition (you’re the killer and they’re survivor).
-
A lot of the add-ons for survivor items are useless too. Like the key add-ons that let you see survivor auras for use of the key’s energy. Or the map marker. Or the pliers that reduce gen repair noise. No one uses those. I don’t ever see them in post game menus. You know why? Useless.
And they need to rework my boy Meyer’s add-ons. I sware to gawd I get more 4K’s with his brown add-ons than his yellow’s and most greens.
-
I had a nurse player today who pretended to be not as good as they really were. Either that or they passed the controller to big bro to finish the match, because the skill level suddenly skyrocketed when we got the gens down to two. It definitely wasn’t a matter of “a few bad plays early on,” because like I said- the skill gap was tremendous.
I’m guessing they did this to “encourage” survivors not to DC or let themselves go on hook, but honestly- this was worse than getting the usual straight butt stomp. This just made me realize that Nurse is so ridiculous, in the right hands- she can meme or throw most of the match, then turn around and destroy everyone in a matter of seconds. As I’m typing this and remembering our match, I just realized what her game plan was: she plays chill most of the game, gets everyone to death hook- then downs all four in a quick snowball succession (like your typical Nurse with zero in pinpoint precision). By the way she turned it up at the end, she could’ve done it in the very beginning. I get it, she wants her points. But that’s very disheartening as a survivor- especially solo que players.
At what point does it not get fun any more to have this “cheat code” of a killer? I hate smurfing in fighting, shooting, and other competitive games. I don’t find it entertaining at all to constantly stomp the competition. That’s boring. Yea it’s fun at first, but after a while it gets mundane for me. You can tell a lot of these Nurse players KNOW they’re going against four solos and will STILL bring their strongest build with best range add-ons. Like let your foot off the gas a little. It’s overkill. And by that, I don’t mean do what the guy did in the match I mentioned above- play at your skill level but save the good stuff for the obvious SWFs. Can I see some yellow add-ons on Nurse for a change? How’s about something other than Starstruck, Floods, LP, and/or Infectious? And how do all these Nurse players have so many purple & green add-ons?? My killers don’t get that many in the Bloodweb.
-
I typically don’t go after the person who was just unhooked- I go for the person who did the unhook. Now the only problem with that may be if they have the new Mettle of Man, DH, or BOTH! But that’s a different story. I rather keep trying to whittle away at the survivors trading hooks- it increases my chances of getting more than 1 sacrificed, as opposed to just tunneling that one unhooked survivor out with less points. I’d rather roll the dice and try for one more, even if it means risking losing that one guaranteed kill.
-
My list for what they got right:
- Endgame Collapse
- Mori & Key Nerfs
- DH Nerf
- Extending Gen Time
- Gen kick regression Buff
- Licensed DLC (great selection)
- Nerfing Spirit
- Graphical & Animation Update (Realm Beyond?)
- Bloodpoint Cost Reduction (coming soon- next week?)
- Bloodweb Grind Reduction
- Level & Bloodpoint 2x/1.5x Events
- Seasonal Events
- Cosmetics & Charms (knocks this out the park- except converting ones made by the community…it’s like the interns get to do those what the hell)
- Frequency of Chapter Releases/Updates (other developers could learn from BHVR’s time management- kudos)
- The Rift/Tomes
- Crossplay (this was huge- BHVR had the foresight to jump on this early while most devs were lagging behind)
- Communication (they still have hiccups from time to time [especially with controversy like hackers/cheaters], but for the most part they keep us in the know- especially with what they’re working on/future plans are)
Btw good thread. About time someone initiated one for the community to give them their flowers. I hope this thread gets highlighted and the feedback in here is shared with the staff.
-
Awakened Awareness probably wouldn’t have been Meta, but it would have been popular & been great for a lot of aura reading builds. I think it’ll still get some burn, but this nerf does hurt it a little.
-
It used to be Shelter Woods IMO, but at least it has size. Now it’s Wrecker’s Yards. There is a reason why killer mains say it’s “the most balanced map in the game.” 😑🙄
-
The few games where you’re successful saving someone and getting everyone out, is worth enduring the many times you sacrafice yourself and get left behind. Well, in my opinion any way. I just don’t feel right not trying if I think there is a chance.
Now if it’s Bubba- forget about it. I’m not even going to try. No sense in feeding- especially since that’s what he’s counting on.
-
Only if someone is blatantly cheating. Other than that, take your medicine.
I would like to see harsher penalties for players who DC repeatedly.
-
Yea it’s been rough bro. I’m starting to build a resilience to the bullshit with all these damn ragequitters compounding on top of everything. My sessions just last a lot shorter. No more 3 hour sessions, that’s for sure.
-
Idk bro…maybe slightly? But I don’t see the licensed perks as being that much of an impact. As long as it’s not something egregious that you would find on a free to play mobile game, I’m ok with the way things are. But then again, I do own every DLC. 😂
-
IMO, the best thing that came with the 6.1.0 is the newfound diversity of killers when getting matched. I appreciate it a lot. If I had to choose bases on the last two weeks, it would have to be (in no particular order): Blight, Nemesis, Spirit, & Legion.

Obviously, even though I dread pinhead matches I don't give up and try my best, so if anyone has any tips to make pinhead better in solo q for me it would be much appreciated I'm not one of those people who cry something is broken unless it actually is futile. So if anyone can give me any tips and tricks I am all for it. I honestly just think it's a shame that it gets worse only because my teammates just give up so it's always going to be a 3k once they lose motivation to try.
Just keep doing what you’ve been doing all this time. It’s your teammates who make the matches harder than they need to be. Just try your best and hope that it rubs off on your teammates who are starting to feel like giving up. Unfortunately you can’t do anything about the hardheaded ragequitters.
I’m usually the one who goes for the box, and when I do- I try to take it somewhere where it’ll be a pain for him to relocate to me, or an area where I have slight elevation with a safe tile nearby to drop down/run over to. That way I get a clear view of his spawn. This game loves to position him right around the corner of tall structures.
I can’t tell you the amount of times I have seen teammates run near the box and purposely not pick it up. It’s absolutely disgusting & frustrating.
-
He’s my least favorite killer to go against. I’d rather go against Wraith and Legion, and I hate those two a lot.
-
It’s because the map priority is not set for all the maps to have equal values. It’s ridiculous. I never knew this game has 43 different iterations of maps, so this makes me even more upset now. Every map should ALWAYS be on “50%” for selection. I’m tired of getting spammed mostly Wrecker’s Yard, Midwhich, Shelter Woods, Gideon, Dead Dawg Saloon and Lery’s. Cmon now. It’s obvious why that’s happening. I wish more players would complain about this and bring more attention to it. Besides, it’s very boring playing the same maps over and over.

I think solo queue is from now on meant to be only for pros with high skill who didn't slip into low MMR and get good teammates, and super casuals who don't mind dying all the time. It's basically a 1vs5 at this point - you don't just have the killer and three teammates against you but also BHVR's design team.
You could hope for some adjustments next year but I fear it is not a coincidence that they tried to release matchmaking incentives in the same patch and have bots coming soon.
I'm currently in the process of quitting solo queue for good. All I want is one last good game in which I had fun and escape through the gate. I've been. trying for two days with no success, I'm just starting today's attempt. Wednesday I got one escape but against a camper and when I get a camper I go in full stealth mode because I don't want to get camped. So it was too boring to count it as a satisfying game.
Yesterday not a single win, just one hatch. The killer was deaf, blind, and constantly outplaying himself (no need for me as survivor to try to fool and lose the killer, he did it himself). He kept losing and even could not find me sometimes though I was pretty loud (injured and infected, Nemesis ...) but nine hooks later I was the last survivor with only three gens done.
Once I got that one last satisfying game to end my 5 year long solo survivor career, I will take some time off and then look for and return as a 4SWF.
Yea, i had a few games the other day that made me say to myself i need to go find a 3 man SWF. I don’t look forward to it, because it’ll be like interviewing for a job and interviewing someone to come work for me at the same time. Need to find the right group of people who just want to play and have fun, but still have some skill. Players who are good sports and don’t give up/ragequit, bully killers, or are too altruistic. They need to understand when 1 of us has to die so the other 3 can live, and everyone respects it. No suicide missions to feed the killer. And most important of all, everyone being respectful to each other. It’s going to be hard to find a consistent 3 like that. Usually one or more are going to tick off a few red flag boxes and ruin the entire experience.

This. Exactly this. Earlier this year he felt either like a Bubba 2.0, or a poor man’s Bubba. Most days I couldn’t tell which, but it didn’t matter- the toxicity and annoyance factor remained the same. Relentless game throwing tunneling, and Leathal Pursuer has been the a thorn in my side for all of 2022. I hate killer aura reading perks as a survivor. Very annoying to deal with. I’ve been saying this since it was announced. Players on both sides dodge lobbies because of this. NGL, I occasionally do this myself when I see a default Meg with that damn mask on and 0 prestige. ######### that. I learned my lesson. I gave them TOO MANY chances to prove that cosmetic is just a stereotype associated with being bad. Spoiler alert: IT’S NOT A STEREOTYPE, IT’S FACT. THOSE PLAYERS SUCK.
They’ll remove it one day when there is a huge disparity in prestige levels & the lobby dodging is blatant.

Plus i cant really imagine any scenarios where this perk can be used effectively.
if you are trying to proc it casually, it is too situational. Like, you are doing a gen with another surv and the killer hits him instead of you but you need to be lucky that the killer does not target you instead.
If you try to force its activation, you would be chasing after the killer who would be chasing after another surv. That's just plain trolling.
No matter what you do, it is not worth it for 35% missing health.
Agreed.
-
I own all 3 and haven’t played one game with them (I’m a survivor main, duh. 😜.
The Artist is annoying to go against. Especially with all the meta builds from 2021 & 2022. I find Sadako the most confusing to vs. and she always has me on my toes. I think I’m the only person in the world who does tapes, and do them successfully. The rare times I see a teammate do them, they always get cursed than Mori’d…with 0 hooks!! 🤦 Dredge is the coolest designed character in the game, and currently the ONLY killer I have fun going against. That first month he came out he actually scared me. My favorite moments were the 3000 I.Q locker grabs when I would go to lock a locker. 😆 I appreciate his lore (what little we know for now), especially with Maurice. And Nightfall is a cool mechanic.
