They’re favoring que times over fairer matches. I’d rather wait longer to get teammates and killers on my skill level, as opposed to getting less experienced players to go against a Sweaty Startstruck/Infectious Nurse who lands every hit after a blink. What the hell is that??! Cmon now.

Not to say that every killer is playing super sweaty, but lately when I load up the game it always has blood point incentives for survivor. We're talking 100% blood point incentive. With that kind of incentive and BBQ being nerfed, I definitely don't want to be playing killer. But maybe I should because every single match is just tunnel after tunnel after tunnel.
I'm a casual DBD player at best, but SBMM puts me into matches that I clearly don't belong in. Can we please have the bots already, because this #########'s getting old.
My theory:
SBMM: [🥔🥔🥔🥔] <—— Potatoe Pool. Our (Us:🐟) Pool ——> [🥔🥔🐟🥔🥔🐠🐡🦑🐬🐳🐋] <—— SWF’s, Blights, & Nurses at end
^Starting MMR^ ^Low/Mid - High MMR^
650 - 1600 (Guesstimate) 1600 - 2800 (Guesstimate) [Very difficult to fall/drop out of: 15L’s? Nope.]
I miss red ranks.

Treat it like how you should when leaving a job- quit when you’ve found something better. Otherwise after a short period you’ll just reinstall it again and deal with the same mess. In the meantime, hopefully the devs will figure something out- like fixing matchmaking.

You shouldn’t. But the nemesis players dont really facecamp this is the only time it has happened to me. Tunnel and slug yeah they will but facecamp? Its rare. For bubba its like expected
So I went doing some digging, and I actually created a thread about it earlier this year and you responded pretty much the same thing lol. You even used the same Nemmie pic and congratulated me on my one thousandth post!
A lot of people had the same sentiments that they didn’t notice him being a camper, but then there were others who experienced it as well (minority). Maybe it was a region thing? I don’t recall there being any challenges with him… If there were obsession challenges with Nemesis, then that would explain it. Like kill the obsession with him. But even still, he always seemed to camp whoever he got on hook.
@KerJuice said:
Any one else noticing a lot of Nemesis players camping & tunneling, more than ever? He’s going to make Bubba blush at this rate.
But going back to the topic- I really think they should have left Reassurance as it was in the PTB and monitored it closely when it went live. If too many people were complaining they were being held hostage, then they could have easily kill switch engaged (🎸🎤 [🐰 🥚] 😉) the perk and have it nerfed in the hotfix. It wouldn’t have necessarily been the end all be all to camping, but it would have been viable. When players hear or see “nerf,” they tend to abandon or not give a chance to whatever got hit with the nerf bat.

Before patch 6.1.0 (or whatever number the meta shake up was in), I used to get camped HARD by Nemesis players. Especially the ones who kept Lethal Pursuer on. It was ridiculous. I never understood what made him a good camper or attracted campers to him.

I think the strongest gen perk is still corrupt intervention. It works great on killers that can infect or set traps but it's good in case your first chase does not go well.
@RiskyKara said:
I want to agree with OrangeBear here. CI is incredibly strong. With CI in play I regularly see 2-3 hooks before anyone's even gotten a single gen done. It also opens the door to some severe snowballing. After CI fade's it's like the game finally 'starts' and you've already got hooks on you, injured people, and momentum. Sure the map opens up, but it's harder to capitalize on it when people need heals, med kits are used, unhooks happened, someone's in a chase. Etc.
I may have to agree with you both. I can not tell you the last time I saw a killer use CI and he was not good at the game. Whenever I see it at the start of a match, I know me and the other survivors are in for it.

This is a great idea. You should add it to the feedback section.

I think it's more removing the green key from being found mid trial, where its pointless as you want have an add on for it, not remove it from the game.
Ahhhh ok. Yea that definitely makes sense. You would need Ante Up(?) to get use out of it- and that would still be a crap shoot.
-
Selfish Survivor Build?? More like Scumbag Survivor Build.
-
I love the green key. I pair it with the ring add-on that let’s me always see the obsession’s aura in the entire map. Seeing only one teammate can surprisingly give you a lot of helpful info. The better/more active the obsession player, the more info I receive and the more efficient I can play. Obsession going for the save? Good- I can stay on this gen. Obsession in chase approaching my tile? Time to move. Obsession on death hook and in chase? Time to go over there and take a hit and a down, to get the killer off of him/her. And other various scenarios. It serves kind of like a 5th perk.
-
I treat the corn as a giant dead zone and try my best to avoid it while I’m being chased. I’ll cut through it only after a hit gives me a small sprint burst, or the killer is kicking a pallet in the last tile, but my aim is not to stay in it- just make it to the next tile and hope there is something there I can use to buy more time. It’s an antiquated tool, and you’re not losing any killer in there with today’s cosmetics & Coldwind’s reworked dawn/dusk setting.
Unfortunately sometime’s you have no choice to dip in there (especially if you’re cutoff/caught off guard by Nurse/Spirit), then you’re royally screwed.
-
Yea I assume she’s always running COH. I don’t get upset as killer or annoyed as her teammate if she doesn’t have it up. I assume she can’t find a totem to bless. When I play her, I prioritize gens over blessing boons. I will pan my camera and take a quick look in a nook and cranny here and there when I’m on my way to a gen, but I’m not wasting precious time unless gens are flying.
-
I have a hunch that the devs will address the gap between solo & SWF’s in their Halloween stream.
-
I think Wiretap’s radius is fine- making it 20 would be a bit much and hard for the killer to mind game at the next tile over. But I agree with a lot on here saying that both should be indefinite until gen is kicked or complete.

-
Yea, I definitely agree with the sprinting time after getting hit. I don’t like having to sometimes camp the next closest pallet. It’s weird because sometimes if try to get to the 2nd farthest tile, there is nothing there and it’s an insta down. But if I go to the next closest tile and it has a pallet, I have to wait for the killer to catch up, play around it, possibly use it, and create an early dead zone. At least before the nerf, you could often just make it to the third farthest tile and play around that, knowing you saved that first closest pallet when you got hit. (After re-reading this, this does sound kinda strong NGL…)
As far as bloodlust goes, I think that should be a new killer category and based on individuality. So someone like say Hag- can get the new Bloodlust buff while someone like Nurse gets reverted back to the old (not that it would do much to her, but this is just for example sake).

I think the community is adapting (probably more like “accepting” lol) to the way things are, for the most part. Losing several games in a row (especially when getting stomped a lot) can be very frustrating, so players come to here and Twitter to vent. I get it. When the ragequitters get to me, I do the same.
Now when you stop seeing the complaints and the numbers drop in players playing, is when you’ll know the game is in a terrible place. As of right now, I don’t think so. But on the same token, a lot of us are not having as much fun as before. Something the devs should think about, and I think it mostly has to do with matchmaking tbh.

I think, "Oh well, just some bad luck."
The very next game, exact same thing, except it's a Tombstone Myers. He just sits in front of me, Stalking and nobody even comes close to grabbing me. They just sit and t-bag in front of him and let him 99 his power. The girl who hide the entire game in and out of lockers gets out through the Gate because it spawned poorly for the Myers.
It's just been awful today and my Killer queues are exceeding 10 minutes, can't imagine why.
I ask myself that most days. I seriously can’t find another game to replace DBD as my main. I just keep chasing that high of playing DBD in the good ole Red Rank era, but I don’t think I’ll get that again.
Why are your killer ques so high? I hear a lot of players say that as well, but mine are pretty decent. I wait maybe 4 mins tops? What MMR do you suspect you’re in, Region, and time of day do you play? I play on NA servers, suspect I am in low-mid MMR, and play all different times of the day, with the same low wait time.

I remember one of the devs saying in their stream (maybe it was the hockey one lol) that for killer it’s 1v1. I don’t recall if he said anything for survivor.
For me personally I always see it like any asymmetrical horror game: 1v4. And this is regardless of playing solo or in a SWF.

Yea maybe y’all ok with trying to explain to the entity you let certain survivors get away because of their looks, but not me.

I didn't ignore what you had said about tunnelling as a strat. Quite frankly, you appeared to be contradicting yourself by stating that tunnelling is a legit strat then calling it an offence. That was the point of my post. When you use a negative statement like "offence" in the less-common meaning of the word it's probably better to clarify that.
By the very dictionary definition that you quoted calling it "his offence of tunnelling" is very clearly using the first definition. The form of your statement followed the definition of the first dictionary meaning IE "breach of a law or rule" - offence is used as a descriptor of his action not a response to it.
Seriously. Re-read what you said in full:
"Maybe that was his only offense of tunneling and he didn’t remember that instance."
Be honest - tell me that it doesn't sound like you're using the first definition not the second. You're not using offence to describe your feelings, you're using offence to describe his actions - there is no mention of you or anyone else in that sentence, no mention of annoyance or resentment, just him and his actions.
Then I used the word wrong. Apologies. But I’m definitely referring to it as the second definition. One misuse of a word shouldn’t contradict the entire idea (at least I don’t think so- especially since it’s one word vs. an entire thought that prefaced it). What I wrote prior in regards to tunneling being a strat and in the killer’s rights shows my true thoughts, and if anything, one should be able to determine I misused the word. I mean, the same word has more than one meaning. That’s my opinion anyway- even if it’s an unpopular one.
Anyways we are going off topic here- remember my original post was in relation to this thread, suggesting maybe OP’s killer only tunneled once and he forgot, and that’s why he denied it.

One second you disagree, the other agree with me, and the other other you play competition also play judge? Replies are supposed to have one point not more, kindly make up your mind.
I have been talking about his chain hunt issue for awhile, just not here, and I thought of talking about him here but before he was rather bad so I just didn’t “felt” like talking about him. Now since he’s gradually getting popular, it’s a serious issue, especially when nearly everything that is considered toxic is receiving a change, so I thought it was the time.
But it’s rather bizarre to say something like “where were you when—“ since people are complaining about camping, tunneling and even Nurse and NOED which all were the OG complaints from literally everyone, and no one said to them “where were you back then” as if they’re the magic lamp that brings wishes by simply asking lol we have complained and it’s not being heard, so what do we do? Talk about it until devs listen, not play judge. So either you agree or disagree, there’s no in between.
Apologies if my response came off as passive aggressive- that wasn’t my intention. I genuinely found it interesting that someone has taken issue with Cenobite now, as bizarre as that may seem. Good luck with your games.

It still shows the cursed symbol too the way it did before though.
(Fun fact on the wesker ptb this was actually bugged and it was shown to survivors from the start of the match so hiding it was impossible.)
Ahhhhh ok, cool. Thanks.
Yea that’s an interesting fun fact- I’m sure a lot of survivor mains would’ve loved if the PTB version went live. I’m happy with it as it is now, though.

SWF troll usually don't need a reason to troll someone. They do it for the sake of it. Sometimes though they come up with the justification post factum in end-game chat just to add more salt to the feast, with something cliche like "you were hiding all game" (and finished 3 gens 4 unhooks and heals while doing so) or "you sandbagged us!" (without further elaboration). It's a huge mistake to look for "reasons" why SWFs do it, because this way you are trying to blame the victim here.
I literally typed “it doesn’t make it justifiable” and gave an example of what happened to me, in relation to my question of whether or not he/she was playing stealthy. You just completely ignored that. Op does not need a white knight. There was no suggestion of victim blaming. I even stated in my previous post that perception can be skewed when playing with strangers- meaning they may have felt offended in some manner. I’m just asking discovery questions to see if it was indeed a straight troll, via process of elimination
YOU may not care as to why people do what they do, but I am genuinely curious. If you want to attack, name call, or insult me for “caring”/trying to figure them out… 🤷
-
Did you guys see that YT video explaining how MMR supposedly works? So after we hit like 1600, we get thrown in a large ass pool of 1600- and ABOVE. So that’s pretty much the majority of the player base. The problem with this other than the obvious, is that you can lose 10 games in a row and not fall out of this pool. So that means the truly bad players that happen to make it up there, pretty much never leave. So decent solo que players (not talking about good or very good- just your average gamer who is a team player, experienced, & understands the do’s and dont’s) most likely sits and hovers around 1600 with the bad players, getting killers of upwards towards 2800. This is why it seems like we are always getting sweaty killers- becuz we are. And this my friends, is elo hell. To put things into perspective, SWF’s (4 man?) on average are in the 2200 - 2400 range.
Now this may not be fact, but this YTber has been pretty spot on with his sources before, warning of things to come and those things actually happened. And the way this is explained makes perfect sense to me. It all adds up, and all the parts fit into the right slots.

No. I did nothing wrong. Solo Queue is a toxic experience half the time. This is the point I am trying to show everyone.
You see I have max Autodidact stacks in the video right?
perception can be a tricky thing when playing with strangers. So I was just trying to figure out if somehow they felt like you were doing something wrong and wanted to punish you for it. I guess at the point they started trolling you they just gave up on the game and wanted to mess with you. It’s unfortunate the killer didn’t realize what was really going on. He probably assumed you weren’t being a team player and joined in on it.
I’ve been trolled for playing stealthy even though I was being efficient with gens, finding Hex totems, AND saving/healing. Were you being stealthy & trying to avoid barbecue? That doesn’t make what they did justifiable but if not then yea, it was just a straight troll session.
-
I don’t main killer, so I don’t have any nasty builds to challenge the survivors- so with that being said, any game I play where one of the survivors appear to just want to “give up,” have me show them mercy, or “put me out of my misery becuz my team sucks,” I feel bad for them. I always let them go. Like I said, my builds are nothing to write home about- so there is no reason for their teammates to be urban evading & hiding all game, not contributing. If the offended party had their fill, I show empathy and let them go about their day with the occasional farm here and there.
-
I’m starting to think this has is the worst chapter of any Tome. A lot of these challenges are just different, and not in a good way.
-
@SilentShepherd were you unhooking them in front of the killer, or were your hooks all safe unhookings? Was the killer on top of them every time you unhooked them?
-
The nerf to Hatch was good & healthy for the game. Even though I had a lot of fun with it over the years, it needed to go. I would take it even a step further and remove hatch offerings and leave it up to pure RnG.
One thing they should revert though is requiring there to be a pause/meter when opening a locked hatch with a key. That was a bit much. It should be instant like before.

"his only offense of tunnelling".
Dude, tunnelling isn't an offence.
You’re thinking of the definition of offense as in: “a breach of a law or RULE.” That’s objective. It’s fact and can’t be debated or disputed. There is no RULE that says killers can’t tunnel. I am not an advocate for entitled hidden survivors’ rulebook. But at the same time I personally choose to go by it when I play killer, because I do not like how it feels when it’s done to me as survivor. I keep that same energy and don’t get upset at killers for using it, just frustrated with the game’s design.
I’m referring to a second definition of offense as in: “annoyance or resentment brought about by a PERCEIVED insult to or disregard to oneself or one’s standards or principles.” This definition is Subjective. So in other words, players like myself can get offended when being tunneled because we ourselves find that in poor sportsmanship (just an opinion). When we play killer, we don’t tunnel. That’s our principle(s). This is our perception, hence me calling it an “offense.”
I prefaced that last line by acknowledging tunneling is a strat and killers are well in their right to do so. Why would you completely ignore that? You come across as being defensive & one who gatekeeps tunneling. Do you not agree with me that’s it’s a strat and well in the killer’s right to use it?
-
I really don’t understand why these people keep playing this game. The reasons why some of these inconsiderate jerks quit, tells us they do it A LOT. So if you’re giving up in this current trial because you were found first by the killer, what’s going on in your other matches?? Your have a 1 in 4 chance of being found first. So you mean to tell me you’re ragequitting that often?? Just uninstall the game. They keep chasing some high of 1 game that they will escape, by ragequitting through 15 games because they’re entitled. That’s 15 matches they ruined for 60 players (killers included), just so they can enjoy that 1 game they escaped. ######### is that??
-
Which killer? I can take the REAL “killers” in DBD in a fight IRL- Ragequitters. Face it- after a few hits, they’ll give up.
-
Sorry to hear.
If I may make a suggestion, try running Thrilling Tremors instead of Barbecue for a few games. I had a Nemesis use this on me last night and I fell for it because I forgot how it works. I THOUGHT he had Barbecue & continued working on the gen to the last second before teammate was hooked, but he came straight for me crouched down behind gen because TT didn’t prox on my gen. I imagine a lot of survivors will fall for this as well. Some may catch on, but by then you would have got some value out of it.
If you see a bunch of medkits maybe sub a perk out for sloppy butcher or franklin’s.

This.
@SailedSavage play the video back at 0.25 speed. You can’t stand in the middle of the pallet (even when you face the direction you want to drop it) and expect to be on the other side. It may work sometimes, but more often than not it certainly doesn’t. Now i know you weren’t dead center- you were 3/4’s on the safe side, but you need to clear the pallet altogether or you get a reverse vacuum. It took me a long ass time to get used to that. It’s very stupid and frustrating. I could be wrong, but I don’t think it has anything to do with latency or the servers.

Eruption isn't range based. It's based on working on a gen at any point after the killer has kicked it. There is no way to play around it without just having perfect communication with everyone on the team. The killer kicks the gen, you start working on it at some point afterwards, a teammate goes down, you have no way of knowing this was going to happen, oops you got outplayed, now the killer knows where you are and you can't work on the gen or *even heal* for half a minute. Outplayed.

Overcharge skill checks are not difficult to hit.
Oof! I didn’t realize! Wow, that’s pretty strong. And let me guess- short cool down, if any?
No, I get the whole not able to play around thing. Idk, I need more experience going against it before I call nerf. I would call it underrated but it’s picking up in popularity. It’s probably going to be annoying as PR DMS (which can be played around).

Even if you have to be pro-active when solving the box, the fact that it can stop unhooks and interrupt actions that don’t save progress like cleansing and blessing is just too much. Imagine killer has 3 or more stacks of Devour Hope, while you’re spending time looking for the totem, your team is getting killed and when you finally found the totem, chain hunt make it literally impossible to even touch it, you’re gonna have to go back and solve the box, but then Pinhead comes to you and you’re doomed, there’s literally nothing a survivor can do in this situation. Dodging “waves” of chain hunt will not solve the issue either as they will come back in just few seconds.
I have played Pinhead, just because I spoke about his issues doesn’t mean I don’t play killer, I have more than 4000+ hours on DbD and I have invested time on killer just as much as survivor. While Pinhead is so fun to play as, he’s a pain in the @$$ as survivor and it’s a matter of time someone speaks about it.
Oh, you’re preaching to choir- I know how oppressive he can be. He’s my 2nd least favorite killer to go against. But I blame mostly my teammates in solo que for making matches against him harder than they need to be. And that’s because of what i mentioned about solving the box, and my number one pet peeve: ragequitting. He gives Nurse serious competition for most survivor ragequits IMO.
I was complaining about him since day 1 and so were others. I just found it interesting that you’re addressing him in September of 2022. Did you not find him tedious to deal with prior or did you always think he was a PITA and you’re fed up & now saying something? This is why I assumed you never played with him. It comes across as you “being late to the party.” At this point it just feels like the community just has an attitude of “it is what it is” with him, while many others just plain out DC. I personally fall in the category of the former. 🤷
-
Yea, that’s tunneling. I agree, if you want to use that strat, you’re well in that right. But don’t be delusional about it. Maybe that was his only offense of tunneling and he didn’t remember that instance.
-
I don’t think it’s stupid. I think it’s actually pretty good and plan on getting it. I don’t like going against it though. I feel like the range effect on that and Jolt are a little too far. If a teammate goes down towards the end of the cornfield, complete opposite of the Thompson House, those perks shouldn’t reach that far. A bit much if you ask me. But hey, that value huh?
-
You have to be pro-active when solving the box. Don’t expect your teammates to do it, because more often then not they won’t. They’re too scared of him teleporting over.
I try to grab it fairly early and take it to a different location-where I’m pretty safe if he happens to teleport. Best time to solve it is when he is in chase with someone injured. But don’t wait till then if that’s not the case. As long as you’re not out in the open, solve it.
Like someone said above, if the hunt is active and you have the box- just dodge the first wave of chains then solve it. You’ll have enough time after that. Just try your best to avoid letting it get to that point.
Pinhead is actually not an easy killer to play as. You have to be methodical in your map pressure, and tactical with your build. If you have him, try playing as him to understand what his limitation are. Even if you’re not a fan of killer, there is no better time to learn a new killer than now.
