  • Use it and you’ll see it’s a situational perk that gets most of its value from new or inexperienced killers. Once you know they have it. Manually locate the closest hook & plan your route before you pick that person up. But don’t take too long because they most likely are running flip flop along with it.

  • Shout out to that C student. He did Gawd’s work today. 👏 👏

  • That’s a dope promotional poster… I’ve never seen that one before.

  • I had a match this morning where the killer messaged me on Xbox “easy 3K.” I messaged him back: “What are you telling me that for? I’m solo and I’m the one who escaped.”

He was such a toxic Ahole, I imagine he was so anxious to send that- he didn’t even bother to check who was who. All he saw was we were both on the same platform, and it was an opportunity to be toxic.

  • Although it had its own flaws, I miss Red Ranks. That’s all I gotta say.

  • @Tsulan said:

Was the SC nerf really that impactful?

It’s actually better IMO. I’ll take the TR stealth nerf trade for a more accurate Spine Chill against killers with a TR. Better than that damn thing lighting up as a Xmas tree making me think the killer is coming but all that’s really happening is a teammate looping his ass around main building. Now I can stay on a gen till I’m absolutely sure he is coming towards me.

No, Head-On shall remain the same, while Decisive Strike shall be buffed.

You're not meant to stun the killer for a long time with Head-On, but to give some sort of a headstart to the chased survivor, or to force the killer to drop the carried survivor. The perk on its own alone doesn't serve any other purpose, so I see no reason as to why we shall make it even more purposeful perk. It's already one of the most used perks in SWF premades as it is, and it's really unfun to face.. Not to mention the forced locked animation during locker grabs to force an easy flashlight saves.. Yuck!

The Decisive Strike, however, shall stay disabled during the EGC.

SWF’s ruin everything. The perk is useless if you’re solo, because killers are right on your ass in no time just like DS. It’s a bad perk. That’s why i suggested a longer cooldown.

  • Idk…I’m already questioning why this is a perk when Leader already exists. Leader can affect more than one teammate simultaneously and gives a 25% buff. And it still gives value even if your team takes damage.

  • Crawl to the closest survivor not in chase after I recovered as much as I can. If I still don’t get picked up, let the crows come and hopefully it’s enough to annoy the killer to pick me up (probably not). But definitely not DC’ing. I’ll smh and go get something to drink before i do that.

  • I don’t think there has been a better time to play killer in the past 3 years, than now. You MMR may be too high like others suggested. Try playing a new killer to hopefully offset that. Or at the very least, play one that you’re familiar with but didn’t rack up too many hours on. Maybe MM will cut you some slack, like it was intended to do.

  • While you wait to play killer, just do other things like tidy up or go on the internet, or text etc.

  • No, not worth it. I would rather them make a sequel (which they said they’re not interested in not doing).

  • Yea 3 seconds isn’t enough. It’s bad enough that it doesn’t work during endgame. On that same note, Head On also needs to be buffed to 5 seconds, but balanced with a longer cooldown.

  • Gideon is fine.

  • I let the last survivor go for various reasons: steamrolled (like you said), submitted & accepted defeat (dropped item, and crouched before me a.k.a bend the knee [for my Game of Thrones fans 😆], or if they didn’t have any engagement with me all game and chose to incite a chase rather than look for hatch/knew where hatch was and didn’t care (after getting looped for 5 mins while hatch is open, once I down them I carry them over. They deserved it and proved their point), or if that last survivor played really well all game and was screwed over by teammates making bad plays.

It’s funny, as killer sometimes we get to see and observe a lot of things the survivors don’t realize. Give us enough time, and we can tell who’s a coward, who is smart, who is a team player, who is not worth chasing, who is a gen jockey, etc. Sometimes for me I take that into consideration on giving hatch or not.

Now as far as how often? Maybe 1 or 2 out of 20 games. Now bare in mind most survivors go for the jugular (especially SWF’s), so I’m not going to be giving the hatch like I’m handing out free candy.

Ok how come? Where does it say in his ability or perks that this is a thing?

Victor’s pounce that downs a survivor in front of exit gate entity wall, doesn’t say the survivor can’t escape immediately after either, and the Twins have been in the game for almost two years now.

I believe this is intended and not a bug.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Honestly i think more killer powers should work like this.

I prefer these kind of clutch moments instead of the exit gates being 100% safe

Agreed. NGL, it would’ve been fun & funny to throw survivors out the trial though. 😂

But I imagine that would’ve got old after a while, so better this way.

  • I’m not good at stacking because of the speed increase- I keep cancelling it with good skill checks. For someone like me I think I would need Stake Out to get some actual value from it. And like someone said above, Wesker’s TR is what really pushes that combo- especially on small maps.

  • @lauraa said:

sucked for GF and Twins but honestly I loved it haha. I had a lot of fun with that event. I hope they bring it back next year!

Wait- the Snowmen cancelled GF’s power?! Oof!

  • I haven’t faced it yet, but it sounds like a nightmare. Not looking forward to that encounter.

  • Map offerings definitely need to go, but BHVR needs to promise to have ALL maps on 50% priority. NO MORE INCREASED MAP PRIORITY FOR CERTAIN MAPS OVER OTHERS. Tired of getting spammed Midwich, Lery’s, Game, & Wrecker’s Yard. All these maps in the game and i keep getting sent to the same 4 all year. Leave it to pure RnG.

That's the problem I do but my teammate never will it'll be about 95% done I know we won't be able to finish it in time because of how close the hook is so I let go and well no one else does.

    I can feel that...

Nothing feels worse then you stop working on the gen squatting and clicking your flashlight at a teammate to just have them stop working on it just for them to completely ignore you and get DMSed

If the stare of my survivor could kill nurse would look like ptb ghostface compared to me

I’ve had teammates that fall for PR EVERY. SINGLE. F’N. TIME. 🤬 I’m like you know he has it, so why the hell are you still on the gen when he’s hooking someone for the third time. And like clockwork, he runs straight towards our direction regardless if DMS is in play or not.

    @Ghoste said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3165646#Comment_3165646

Okay but that doesn't stop the gen from regressing. And if I touch it, then the Killer can push me off and block it. Basically it takes a gen completely out of play for 30 seconds if not more, if the Killer is good.

That’s the most frustrating part- dodging PR, but getting forced off so DMS is activated.

As annoying as PR & DMS is, I’m seeing another annoying combo making a VERY STRONG and even more annoying comeback: Plaything & Pentimento. Those two on any killer with other perks that force you to break Hex Totems are toothaches. Even with my Small Game/Counter Force builds, they are quite formidable and time wasters.

  • @CyberRoninX said:

Right lets increase the DC penalty to 24h base and see how many people stop coming back to the game. If you know you will lose why stick around to be miserable?

I personally would not miss those players who left because their DC penalty was too high. There’s no reason for you to be ragequitting that often. Don’t play or take a break if the game is that miserable. Quitters just make the game more miserable for players who are resilient. That’s not fair.

  • Holy crap bro that’s pretty impressive and creative! I’m a trapper main but i don’t have any of those perks unlocked, so I won’t be able to try it out. Question though? Why did you choose Trapper for this build? Pinhead sounds like a good candidate for this, because his power thrives in chaos and confusion. It’s too bad Fearmonger doesn’t have room to fit in there, to circumvent Sprint Bursting away from gens.

I think this build is perfect, and not worth substituting any of the perks for Awakened Awareness. Even if you swapped it out with Floods of Rage, that will weaken the build. IMO, Floods will give you more value.

Not with SWFs but with DCing and Rage Quiting is partly to do with the mindset of it's a 1v1 game when it's actually a 4v1 game. When those players with that mindset get beat easily or downed too quickly or if it doesn't go thier way they Rage and DC or suicide. But those who remember this is a team based game and 4v1 will help out their team and won't DC or suicide because all that does is hurt the team

    Exactly.

    @rvzrvzrvz said:

I think there is too much incapacited gameplay on hook or slugged on ground and it gives very low bloodpoints, it's way too late to fix it now because half of the perks are related to hooks but imagine if we just respawned somewhere random on the map, it would solve camping at the same time because no hooks to camp

Bro, this is exactly why I believe BHVR needs to start making a sequel (I know they went on record saying they are not interested). This game’s mechanics are antiquated.

    @solidhex said:

Dbd is a very "toxic" game by it's nature and mechanics. It's something i would only recommend if you're in a stable mental condition. If you play too much of it, you easily get frustrated as there are many situations that feel punishing and unfair (for both sides!) and you just have to go through them until the game finally ends. People don't know when to stop and then they keep on playing and fall into a black hole.

Those people you encountered have probably played way too much Dbd recently.

Well said. 👏 I agree. When I get too many ragequitters consecutively like I did the other day, I just play something and return later. Too many times I tried switching to killer, just to end up having MM screw me over with a 4 man SWF, waaaayyyy higher skilled than I am. That just makes me even more deflated & question why I keep supporting this game financially.

    1. What teammates are doing or not doing
    2. Which killer it is (stupidest reason IMO)
    3. What type of playstyle does the killer use; ie camping, tunneling, slugging for 4k, etc
    4. What perks/build the killer is running (I've seen people d/c or quit just because of a killer running full gen slowdown build along w/ Thana)
    5. They have an emergency/have to go and realize they can't play the game out in time.

    Pretty sure those are it.

I agree with this list and don’t have a problem with number 5. Life happens, we get it. The DC’ing that I am referring to always has to do with killer engagement. Those players don’t conveniently remember they have to go whenever the killer is on them- they’re just frustrated. I get the frustration, but not the lack of consideration of others. Just deal with it and let’s all try to get better & do ur best no matter how bad it looks.

I personally think that the hitbox needed to be reduced, but again not to the extreme degree it is now. The hitbox in ptb was far too big, basically giving new players without precision training wheels. Obstacles were your only enemy but aside from that you could just fly in the general direction of a survivor and grab them. Not fun for the survivor and can't even dodge. People behind Wesker were getting nabbed

Wait- so if someone juked him and ended up behind him they would still get grabbed?

Your definition of "good sport" and most others drastically differs. It's like sticking out getting hit in the head with a hammer for 10min so you'll feel like a better person after, instead of just leaving immediately. I've never been that masochistic. No kink shame, though.

The condescension is from another day, another whine about hook suicide/DC. Nothing new is ever offered or gained from it. It's just a woe-is-me post and demand that BHVR make punishments more severe or ban them all. Over and over, when the OG could've just done a search on the forums and found enough reading to last a good while. It's a waste of visual real estate.

Until the demand for a better solo queue environment is made loud enough to BHVR to actually take significant and meaningful steps to improve it, there will be no end to DCs/hook suicides. Ever. Fight the problem. Bitching about the symptom does nothing.

Look at the terms you yourself are using. "Hopeless." "Not fun." "Take my medicine." "Play something else." I don't know what happened in your life that drilled the idea into you that you have to suffer like this, particularly in a game, but I'm pretty sure it's something a few years of therapy can work through. To everyone else, if things are that bad in one match of a video game, they leave the match.

And if you're noticing it this much across multiple trials, there's a reason. As others have already said:

Solo queue is garbage made worse by repetitive uninspired maps and the occasional stupidly overpowered or pointlessly annoying killer. Get in, grab some BPs, get out, go into the next trial. Live for the rare decent trial, but suffer no ######### ones.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3159955#Comment_3159955

Will never happen. There's no technical way for BHVR to tell the difference between an intentional DC and one for any other reason. It's especially difficult since they don't even run their own servers, and have to use an Amazon client portal. The last thing they want is to segregate players from the main player base to cause a further imbalance. Hence the bonus BPs for whichever side has the lowest population. BHVR needs to sell cosmetics to the largest possible audience. If not everyone can see them, fewer will buy.

So the players who are being good sports and have consideration for others are the ones who need therapy, and not the players who quit every time something doesn’t go their way or when faced with adversary?? 🤔 Riiiiiiigggghhhhtttt….

I don’t get the condescending smart Alec response- we are all being civil here. If you can’t get your point across without being insulting, then move on. Not in the mood for the negativity this early in the morning.

The reload addons are fine as they are, and her range addons have just been nerfed (now a nurse who uses the range addons is only impacted by the advantage it gives her above 20m tp) 😊

It is much more balanced than before yesterday's maj😄

PS: and if not, all of you who scream every day about the ugly OP nurse ... we're still waiting to see the recordings of your games against her 😆

And be careful, don't show us ONE game where you were killed by the nurse, if you want to prove that she is indeed OP, you'll have to show us dozens of games, against different nurses (not the same one, otherwise, of course, ha ha, anyway), with different survivors, on different maps ☺️

And preferably, make the effort to compose a team of excellent survivors 🙂

No, because if I play with survivors who are as good as potatoes, I can say that the bad nurse is too good too 😂

You who spend so much effort to come and create / feed topics on this forum ... show us that it's not all talk, and spend so much energy to provide evidence 😉

    I'm waiting for your videos.

I don’t understand the copy and paste/italics at the end- I just want her oppressiveness gone. Blight is the second strongest killer and gets ish done. He just doesn’t make you feel like you don’t have a chance in hell 3 out of 4 encounters, like Nurse does. I don’t complain when I lose to him for the 5th time in a day, because at least me and my team got to do something. A heal here, a gen there, maybe even a totem or a chest. At least we got to play. Nurses can and a lot of times shut all that down. Doesn’t make for fun times when everyone gets wrecked within the first 4 mins and 5 gens are still up.

  • @GoodJobGuys92 said:

    Nurse should be left alone.

I used to think that, but in 2022 where this game’s mechanics are outdated and players have perfected use of her power- she’s a bit much. She’s oppressive. She can consistently 4K at 4 or 5 gens, with various builds. That’s not healthy for the game, and that’s why we see so many DC’s when people go against her (not saying they’re justified, because they’re not IMO). She just needs hits after a blink to register as special attack, and her two best add ons to be dialed back a little. She’ll still keep her crown as best killer, she just won’t be so dominant and inescapable.

  • For some reason, DBD can’t do Stilettos. I’ve noticed that for years.

  • I’m having more fun going against him than playing him. Feels good to dodge and/or bait his rushes. I have to get used to playing as him. I don’t find him annoying or oppressive as Nurse- at least not yet. Hope it stays that way.

Oh this is more so to see if y’all are frustrated as well and if anyone has any ideas to minimize/deter egregious quitting. People will always quit, but now it’s a bit too much.

Dude, I just had my first match. Within about 30 seconds I see a teammate being carried (mind you, I forgot to watch anybody play PTB to get a feel for Wesker in advance and can't play PTB since the computer bit the big one). So I was like, huh, ok, adjustment period. Whatever. Player is hooked, then immediately I see another person down. Then just as one gets pulled, another down as I'm running to get hook #2. It was just a carousel of downs after that. I got 75% of 1 gen done when we were down to 2 people. All of this in a span of about 3 minutes. And I got screwed over because it was my first time on the RPD map and got disoriented due to the rework (I was an RE2 Remake player who already knew the map before the DBD release).

I feel like today is going to be a struggle......

    I feel your pain.

    @RonMan32 said:

Hopefully they make the punishment more severe. Honestly people who DC a lot should be shadow banned to only get matched with fellow survivors and killers who DC until they shape up. That would be a nice addition. If you DC a lot in a span of a week your matchmaking only looks for other people that have the same rapid DC shadow ban, making your queue times longer and your games full of like minded people that aren't fun to play with because the game won't even happen because people will keep DC-ing. Hopefully it would put them in a cycle where they either stop playing all together so they're no longer a problem, or it would teach them to stick games out and they can come back into the normal match making. Sort of a DC prison and rehabilitation program.

I absolutely LOVE this idea. @Peanits make it happen, Captain. 🙃 All kidding aside, the community needs the devs to look at the DC’ing epidemic. It’s REALLY bad. Hopefully you guys are able to track it and the amount of players who force themselves into the struggle state then let themselves go. I believe those stats would tell you a lot about the current state of the game. When the DC penalty was first introduced, it was a good deterrent and curtailed the ragequitting for a long time. Now in 2022, it’s not as effective any more.

I know when my solo team is garbage. When the ratio of hooks to gens is high and I see my teammates all wandering around while I’m on the hook… ######### do you think is going to happen? Game is lost. And when I’m downed inside of a minute because of an OP killer like Blight or Nurse using Lethal Pursuer… Blame the devs for allowing OP killers, horrid matchmaking and no improvements to solo play so that soloing feels hopeless way too often.

Then why do you keep playing and ruining it for others when it happens “way too often?” Why do you keep coming back? The players who stay get frustrated as well. You’re just making it worse for them when you force your way out. (Not trying to be mean btw, genuinely asking/concerned). We all are supposed to be a team an endure the headache together. Someone just might make it out that game, or get a little better at the game. That someone could be you. But when you quit like that, you’re definitely not going to improve- and your team has a much smaller chance of surviving.

Honestly might just join them. Wesker is so hilariously overtuned, he feels like a nurse with upside. Just gonna not play for a week until hopefully the craze dies down and it's only the sweats playing him, then I can just insta-conceed every Wesker.

Why do you guys do that? You’re screwing 3 other players over. They don’t want to face certain killers either, trust me. They cringe just as y’all when they go against the killer(s) they hate the most, but they try. Maybe someone or two will actually make it out. Maybe it’ll be you. I mean the list of killers are growing, so before you know it- you’ll end up giving up to a third of the killer cast. Why even play at that point.

If for nothing, have consideration for others. That’s why I stay in trials that seem hopeless or not fun. It’s just better to “take my medicine” and play something else after I tried my best. I don’t want to screw my team over, because only having 3 players to vs. a killer you hate with an annoying build is ten times worse.

And damn you have to be close as hell, too. I don’t like that.

  • Keep in mind hatch is now considered a draw for survivors and even though they escaped via it, they didn’t beat you. They gain nothing. You already won by killing 3 out of the 4. Don’t let that upset you. Now if they managed to get the exit gates opened after you closed the hatch, chalk that up to RnG and don’t let that upset you either, because you will catch more survivors trying to open the exit gates than them actually slipping past you. That was just a bad spawn of the gates being far apart with line of sight blocked in between. There are plenty of map iterations where the killer can see both exit gates from the middle- especially if you find a little elevation or high ground.

Hatch is needed for survivors who actually tried to get ish done, but had teammates like the one you spoke of above, not doing anything and dying earlier. Imagine being a good player getting paired up with 3 of those potatoes (which happens waaaay more than you trying to beat one of those potatoes to hatch as killer) and not standing a chance in hell of surviving. Your only glimmer of hope is a 50/50 hatch escape that just gives you a draw. You’re not guaranteed to beat the killer to it, but at least it’s there as some sort of compensation for your troubles.

  • I wish you could play with me against the Hillbilly’s I play against. Some of these guys can do perfectly timed “J’s” on Eyrie of Crows with ######### add-ons. Then there are the ones who feel unescapable with their “L’s using the best Boot add-ons. Sometimes I swear I got caught with a “U” on there a few times, but that could have just been in my head.

I still feel compelled to attempt end game saves because like you, it's empathy. In Solo Q it feels real bad to be there for your team all game only to die on your first hook during end game watching as your team mates run out the gate. At the same time, I'm guilty of finding it exhilarating to actually pull off a successful end game save. I find it fun to leave no man behind if it's possible, and I'm ok with dying to try. I just hate that we're completely punished now for attempting it by the MMR system.

Thank you, bro. Well said- especially that last line.

  • He’s good but the only thing i would change is how he can make a full “U” around an object while sliding and still hit you. That’s complete horseshit. And no matter how many times i see him starting to do it, my brain keeps telling me “no way he makes this curve,” even though I damn well know he can- from past experiences. Then when i get hit I’m yelling at the tv. 😹

no, they aren't. Just infinite use flashlights. Like I said I see a flashlight I bring lightborn and it becomes obvious who's doing it as they just try and try. Base FL duration is 8 seconds for the greens. they will sit there and try to blind me as I pick up and walk over to a hook. I have never even seen the perk built to last used ever so no they aren't using that.

Hmmm…idk then. When you say infinite, do you literally mean the flashlight is infinite and they’re cheating? Or the current state of green flashlights and add-ons are too OP?

  • I used to think I was decent until this last patch humbled the shlt out of me. I went from usually being the guy with the most points at the end of the trial (even if dead), to the guy consistently with the least amount of points (to my shock). And mind you- i was not a DH or DS user. But come to think of it, a lot of my builds did get destroyed in perk shakeup. Some of my favorite builds that weren’t even Meta got sent to the moon, along with the fun they brought. I hate the Off the Record and Dark Sense changes- they weren’t even popular but super underrated!

I always knew I wasn’t great at looping, but i didn’t realize how much my favorite perks helped me.

What I really am as survivor: 6

Mine has been less than a minute most of the night. Had a couple close to 2 minutes.

    Regional?

I wonder the same thing. I see posts/memes on here, Twitter, and Youtube saying killer que times are very long- but I don’t have that problem at any time of the time. Sure some times of day are longer than others, but we’re talking 2 or 3 mins. I don’t consider that long since we used to wait up to 10 mins to get into games before crossplay. I think ppl forget how bad that was, and it actually felt NORMAL on a nightly basis.

Why not just force them out? I actually never have to force a bully squad out as I basically run a build specifically to counter them. But those stealth genrush squads wreck me and I definitely have to force them out as I am not about to wait 2 minutes. They are super easy to force out because they are very scared of getting caught out.

The bully squad types probably wouldn't be as afraid, but that is even more reason to keep playing as you might get one of them. They usually go for swag over securing their win to be perfectly honest.

If you don’t want to wait then ofc go ahead and force them out, but that’s exactly what they want. To teabag at the end while you’re forcing them out. Me personally I can wait and not give them the satisfaction.

I’m not saying concede every game once the gens are done. I’m talking specifically of the games OP described. The ones where you only got only a few hooks and straight bullied with toxic behavior. They’re just going to toy with you some more while the exit gates get done. Not worth trying to kill one, only to get maybe a hook or two extra? Plus that’s what they want anyway? And not every killer can insta down. Not worth it IMO. Better to move on to the next match.
