No way. it's a video game, don't yell at me that I'm not RPing well enough.
Lol, I vibe with your comment and now I can't un-vibe. Instead of 'just git gud', it feels like, 'just roll a nat 20, bro'.

Well, it sure can save you a boatload of time accomplishing certain Rift challenges. In fact, I'd argue it lessens the Rift grind.
-
I think with so many different time zones, it makes sense to release multiple codes. The first one was already used up by the time I got home from work. Thankfully the 2nd one worked for me.

Then why isn't every character a white man? Diversity matters. It's probably nice for you that you can see yourself represented everywhere, but it's the not case for a lot of us.
*Mic drop*
Preach it 👏

If they CHOOSE to? Go for it. Do we need to LOBBY for it? No.
We don't need anyone's sexuality represented, straight, queer, or otherwise because those traits are not relevant to a game of this type. If they wanna throw an archive page in a rift talking about Kate's girlfriend, that's fine. But ultimately "ROBBLE ROBBLE WHERE'S MY LGBT CHARACTER?!" is not important in this sort of genre.
My guess, based on your tone-deaf response, is you do not identify as LGBT. If all the characters were female, would you feel the need to lobby for male characters? Your answer proves whether or not your acting hypocritical.

There is no such thing as "familial" obligation. You didn't sign a contract. When I don't want to deal with family at the holidays, I go into the other room and play a video game.
Thanks for livening up this post with some epic trolling commentary, but I think it's more important to stay on topic. But thanks for visiting my thread! ❤

I think their user name sums it up.
-
Open-Handed is great when paired with Kindred. I play mostly solo and will run this build every now and then.
Up The Ante tho...if someone has a build where it's not useless, I'd love if you share it.
-
Same, I've been wanting to change my user name on PS4 but was scared off by stories of losing game licenses. Any special way to avoid that issue, or is it straight forward to switch?
@Rareware0192 where can I find a list of games that aren't affected by name change?

I should have dodged the lobby.
Wait, why? What's the story behind your post, I MUST KNOW 👀👀👀

I've made the choice to just not prestiege at ALL. I have a few characters I could do it for, but I just don't want to lose my perks only to get worse ones. So I just have particular survivor builds and I switch them out depending on the playstyle I want.

Yes, I always give thumbs up props to people I like playing with/against! I also don't know what it does, but if it's the only thing I can do, it makes me feel like I did something.
I really hope this function gets a purpose, it has so much potential. Right now I don't think it sends any feedback, but it would be nice if was incorporated in game as some type of reputation system, either to recognize non-toxic players or have some tangible awards given based on your reputation level.
-
100%? No. But I think it IS possible to cultivate a positive experience. Because in game and on forums, there's good and bad, and you can't control the bad. But you can certainly use your agency to leave. Or only choose to interact with community members or forum posts that don't damage your worth as a person. *shrugs* Besides hugs, that's all I got 🤷♀️
-
I've never had it happen because I don't play Myers enough, but I can very easily see it happening with his Scratched Mirror add-on; let's you see Survivor auras within I THINK 32 meter radius. If you don't know they're playing it, it's easy to assume the Killer is hacking to know your exact position.

Don’t let those tears turn to icicles!😌
Your post made me laugh, made me smile, and then made me feel terrified- I don't know WHAT kind of cookies Santa was eating for that demonic transformation 🤣 i will take the hug anyway!
@Darkskies you, too! I will take all the hugs, mwahahaha!

When I notice a stealth Killer stalking me before they can down me and I point at them. By far my favorite is "Shy Myers", who turns abruptly away from me as if they're embarrassed to be caught peeping. It's honestly precious 🥺

Where are these snoot boopers when I log in? Everytime I want to play Pig it seems the survivors try to do a 5 gen speedrun lol

Please. Teach me the Boop rules!
If I play Pig, I feel like it’s either “play normally and feel like a real punk for not respecting the boops” or “respect one boop and suddenly they’re all doing it and now we’re farming (blah).”
Is there some happy medium?
How can being a killer and respecting boops ever coexist in this crazy world!? 🐷
For me when I play Pig, I give the signal close to the exit gates if no one has approached me yet. Survivors seem to always linger in Exit Gates, so I try to keep a bit of distance and spam crouch and keep growling. That way you can give Survivors the opportunity to boop the snoot ar the end without playing a farming match.

Claude main here, I always boop !!! BUT I am an 'older' player. I know many new players don't know the fun of the BOOP :( So I always try and boop even if it gets me hooked XD
You're a beautiful soul. It's true, lot of newer players don't know about the magic of the boop, so I applaud you for putting yourself out there 👏
-
Omg, this is entirely accurate. All my mains are on 'Plz don't kill me boopers'.
STAHP CALLING ME OUT LIKE THIS 👀
-
That's not befriending the Killer. That behavior is toxic and greifing, which I do believe is reportable. Sorry you got sandbagged like that 😬
-
It depends on the person messaging. Sometimes they just want to stir the pot, but sometimes ppl just legit want someone to listen- especially if they've had a string of bad matches.
100%, you aren't obligated to respond to them. But if you do want to try and have a dialogue, come from a place that invites them to tell you more.
For example, you can say something like, 'Hey, I'm sorry this match upset you and you felt cheated. Can you help me understand what I did that made you think I was cheating?'
And then let them respond. If they seem open to dialogue, great. If they keep hurling salt, end the conversation cordially. Also, you saying sorry doesn't mean you did anything WRONG, or are acting like a beta. The apology is meant to convey you're sorry a miscommunication occurred.
That's how I'd handle it. I spent over 10 years in customer service and a few in a call center. De-escalating first is the easiest way to try and persuade others. Good luck! *Hugs*

Were you playing on midwich against an addonless wraith? And a combat straps pig?
Sounds familiar but it might not be me, if it was me, I apologize I was having a very rough night against OoO every match.
@Komodo16 No, Pig was on Haddonfield and Wraith was on Yamaoka Estate I believe. So you are innocent 💯

Ok, thank you for the information! Appreciate it!

One of the biggest offenders is Survivors running self-care. I acknowledge a time and place for everything, but losing time is what costs the game in many cases.
I run Kindred in all my builds, and I internally scream when there's one gen left and I see 2 rando teammates in the corner doing self-care 🤦♀️

Boop snooting is a punishable offense in over 10 different realms. Capital punishment includes hooks, a mori, and duh death hat.
*Whispers* That is so sad. Have you had a boop snoot before? It's like booping the snout of a majestic dragon. And it's full of fuzzy feelings 🥰

What do you say, mods? Some place we can post our stories and try to connect?

Why take the chance? You can't ever go on the assumption that a killer will suddenly act nice.
Because I like to be nice. And if the Killer happens to be nice, too, it's a beautiful moment of good sportsmanship 🤷♀️

Please tell me this isn't real.
Lol, it is definitely real. When I went to message the Killer after the 2nd match I was floored it was the same person! By far one of the funniest things to have happened to me in game.
@Reinami sorry you've had those experiences, but not all Survivors are like that. Also, the only reason the Killer made me cry, was because I was laughing so hard.

You standing on the hatch, teabagging or pointing, is toxic.
You can't expect players to not play the game the way it is intended. That is not toxic to attack you as pig.
Every other game i play has a guy in the game who
- Has as script to spam flashlights
- Teabags constantly, bonus points if they have OOO
- Calls me the "N word" after the game is over
- Harasses me in chat for being a camper/tunnel/insert other thing.
As a survivor, i often get killers who offer me the hatch at the end, or do other nice things. Rarely are they toxic to me.
Survivors are more toxic IMO. Especially SWF.
I wasn't tbagging or pointing. I was just crouched. Also, this isn't a salty post at all. It's meant more to poke fun at me more than anything for being a trusting and overly altruistic player and that I happened to meet the same Killer w/in an hour.

So we have hook charms but what about being able to pimp our basements with different bloodstains? Or rats, bodyparts etc nailed on the wall? Let us make our basements a bit more personal and scary.
This is actually a great idea. Any way that you can build your own identity in a game helps build a stronger player engagement. I think the versatility would be a refreshing aspect, too!
-
This will haunt my dreams 👀
-
I kinda get it. From what I'm reading OP is frustrated by ppl knowingly referring to Elodie as Claudette 2.0. So not in game, or from trailers, where things can be vague, but in conversations where we already know Elodie's identity as a separate survivor.
At least that's how the complaint read to me 🤷♀️
-
Thank you for the info @Lambda I couldn't stop wondering about it!
Hmmm....a real bad-ass. Suddenly I have visions of Red Sonja and Conan the Barbarian cutting a path through the Entity's Realm 💯
-
@GoodBoyKaru any thoughts on this?
-
This is the bad timeline, lol
-
@TrapperClaus said:
I guess it's easier for the Entity to make survivor do stuff with gens if they are familiar with it which happens to be the last ~100-50 years of human history.
As for murder, this is all times classic.
This. This post right here broke my brain. How DID survivors escape before the time generators were invented??? 😱🤯
-
To be fair, I think it allows for lore to be introduced for those characters. But I'm not sure how I feel about that- I kinda feel like at least the lore aspect should be a free feature in DbD.
Whether or not you own the character or even complete the challenges, I think the lore sections should unlock after the Rift ends. Learning more about certain characters might even incentivize players to purchase them, or try them out.
Thoughts?
Edit: putting lore behind a DLC paywall discourages me from purchase.

It's very good for making sure you get at least 2 hooks per game. If you go down first it's a waste but mid to late game, when you are liable to die on your first hook; having it available is incredible for giving yourself a second chance. Dying on my first hook or going half on my first hook is probably the most annoying thing in DBD to me so I run it often.
Before crossplay I would do an endgame hook trading build sometimes. BT/DS/Deliverance/Tenacity. You could aggressively trade for someone on the hook; then save yourself and either DS the killer or crawl out of the exit gate with tenacity.
Thanks, that sounds like a formidable build! I tend to use Sprint Burst for safe unhooks so I think it would pay off frequently. And if the Killer is running NoEd, that would make for a spicy finish 🙊

Some cake offerings in the bloodweb would be good right about now. They Should've done Fruitcake BP offering instead of limited charm.

The Devs haven't given out codes for Cheryl sweaters yet if I'm not mistaken. That must mean they're hacking right?
The sweater this week on the calendar is for Zarina, not Cheryl. So I'd agree, probably a hack 😒

WHUT?! omg, my ghosty baby 😭
Is this a bug or was it intentional?
-
I will wait and see. I love Wraith which is why I don't want to get too hyped 🥺
-
It do be like that sometimes ☹
Hope you have ggs today full of survivors who realize good sportsmanship is a thing.

Come on y'all, let's not turn on each other. Why can't we want the game fixed AND Cheryl's ugly sweater? We can want our cake and eat it, too.
Mmmmmm....cake 🎂

Holy **** this thread is a stale echo chamber. Do all of you guys on here really think that these guys are just callous business robots whose only dream is to make money off of one game?
I'm not gunna rant about " oh they work hard " cuz it's not like I know. But at the very least I don't waste my time *****ing and moaning online in their forums about the game thinking that my nihilistic take is gunna do anything. Being bitter online solves nothing. Dehumanising people because you don't like how they balance a game is insanely petty. If you don't like things about a game, move on. Play something else. When their player base dips they might reach out and try to fix things. But by virtue of you continuing to play and engage you're just showing them that you still like what they're doing.
I'm just so tired of seeing people in this community repeat themselves and spout ' money hungry business ' as the main reason " BHVR Sux ". If they were money hungry this **** would be a gacha game. People would be rolling boxes for the top tier killers. Thank ****ing god we're not living in that world.
Uh....as someone who plays lots of gacha games, I think that DbD would be FORCED to improve, or be abandoned. I think going gacha would be brilliant for this game and wouldn't mind that business model. You're still paying for uncertainty, but at least it comes with statistics and you pay knowing there's no guarantees.
