I was wondering, are the current shrine perks worth getting? I was thinking of getting Inner Strength but wasn't sure, I've heard alot about Stridor also. I'm still kinda new and don't know which perks are the best to use, I play both survivor and killer. This is my first post, hope I'm doing this right haha. Hope everyone's has a great weekend π
Yup, you're doing just fine! I ask for advice on the shrine perks, too. There's so many, and it helps to be able to ask the community what utility they get out of certain ones. Welcome! π

YOUR BETA TESTERS !
We are players that have bought the game and we deserve quality. PTB is the platform where you can test your new features but the normal game should never be considered as a test playground.
We have paid the game, the full game to play it and enjoy it. So we deserve a few things :
- that you listen to the community when we tell you something, but seeing the state of the game you don't listen much...
- that everything works fine when you release a patch or a new feature
- that you don't change our game experience with your tests
Hire Beta tester as developers were doing 20 years ago or use your PTB.
Wait, is this...a tantrum? Because your points contradict each other. You're saying PTB is tickety-pooh, but you don't want the game changed based on those tests. So your commentary is about as broken as you think the game is.

Ngl, read the title and thought Sluzzy was the OP.

I only DC when I'm rubber banding- like vaulting a pallet, only to wind up at the beginning and get smacked by the Killer. Running while rubber banding also gives me motion sickness, so I will throw in the towel.

No it's not only affecting pc players as i had the issue recently.
Oh yikes, thanks for the heads-up. I'm on console but haven't had a chance to play yet today.

Is their a server issue going on at the moment? Had three survivors just disconnect two of them in rapid succession.
Yes, but I believe it's only affecting PC players atm. There's a thread on here that mentioned connection issues yesterday and today.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention I'm on Playstation as well, and PSN players are a lot more well behaved in my experience
I agree, and it might be because it takes effort to message someone else. In the year I've played, I've had ONE attempt at salt. And I say attempt because after my friendly, feigned oblivious reply, they left me alone π

As long as the Killer wasn't toxic (like tunneling me repeatedly off hook before even touching another survivor) I will say GG WD, no matter if I get destroyed or escape.
Though I like your idea I suspect a lot of players would have trouble taking or giving critique in a way that isn't perceived as #########-talking, so I leave it at just trying to preserve good sportsmanship.

Honestly killers just don't queue up because it's hard to get the nerve to do so. It's hard, frustrating, and you have no idea when "this is the game I will be bullied" is going to be.
Also, unlike survivor you need certain perks and such to be functional, so there is a huge bloodpoint requirement to even be able to play them generally, and actually have any kind of chance.
This. I haven't touched the specific Nurse challenges b/c I'm afraid it will be a dumpster fire. I'm worried how many matches it will take π

my comment was deleted or needs aproval for whatever reason after i edited it so i type again (hoping not geting named for saying some truth here) i know, but this is BHVR and they are greedy, way too much and enough is enough.
the worst part is that i actually spend some money in the shop, in fact ive spend 1200AC today after a couple of months and i bought 2 rifts so i do some buy sometimes certain things but really demoralizing, and most rifts are even the premium parts.
The pending or approval is due to being a newer account/having few comments. Don't know what's the magic number, but you're not being singled out, happens to everyone when they try to edit/repost too quickly. I'd recommend waiting 60 secs before resubmitting an edit.

Mine was the most harmless name I could think of when I was 16, and bought my first xbox and thus needed a gamertag. I wanted something silly and harmless sounding because all of the xXsnipemasterXx or deathgod67x ######### and just more serious names in general kinda made me cringe pretty hardcore. Like, we all get it, youre an edgy hardcore teen with anger problems, very cool. So I just wanted something whimsical, and ive been Fuzzels in every gamertag, ID, steam game, account name, etc. Ever since
This is so pure! Lol, agreed, lots of edgy names out there, that's why my tag on PS is sprinklkins. Whimsy = Beauty.

Yeah. I never used to think the grind was too bad. But even working part time Iβm already dreading just how long it will take to get every killer perk to tier 3 on Trickster just so I can have the freedom to experiment with different builds and synergies.
There are currently 78 killer perks. Tricksters will bring that up to 81. The staggering amount of blood webs Iβll need to go through with Trickster depresses me.
Imagine new players being confronted with all that. It's....a LOT.
But having a SWF to help with some of the challenges does help, especially the co-op ones.

I havenβt even played the PTB cause Iβm at work right now, Iβve watched some streams and gameplay and IMO this βkillerβ seems like a joke. Another projectile throwing βkillerβ who looks like he just left a Korean Pop Band after party. It just doesnβt feel like Dead By Daylight. At this point they might as well add spongebob and give him red eyes and call him a killer. I just feel like this chapter was made for shi*s and giggles.
Wait, wait, wait- aren't you the SAME person who berated others for complaining about the new HUD, as 'spoiled, entitled children who don't appreciate anything the devs give us'?
Guess it's doesn't apply when you're unhappy about something, but I'd urge you to take your own earlier advice and 'stop acting like a spoiled child, because the devs didn't need to give us anything'.

After seeing the photo posted on the dbd twitter account, I can't say I'm particularly happy. Don't get me wrong I have absolutely nothing against the LGBT community and I personally don't mind at all if the new survivor is LGBT. I have no objection to people expressing themselves however they see fit irl but I just don't think that a drag queen survivor would really fit into the dbd aesthetic. If it was something discreet like they mentioned in said character's lore that they were LGBT or it had some role in their backstory but a drag queen with crazy makeup and massive fake eyelashes would just be ridiculous in a horror game centred around murdering people.
Boy are you in for a surprise: The Entity didn't capture a drag queen, they kidnapped a Kardashian! I mean, big fake eyelashes, the evidence is there!!!

You'll have to pardon me if I'm not willing to take the chance that a SWF group isn't actively communicating information between one another that they wouldn't otherwise have in game.
Whether you admit it or not, it is a form of cheating. If you use voice chat in DBD to communicate in-game information, then you are cheating. Full stop. I'm sorry, but that's true by definition.
Lobby dodging is the only way I can avoid that kind of cheating.
No worries, I play Killer on occasion too and it really isn't easy to guess which groups are going to sweat vs ones that are chill. And I've certainly gotten burned being the only solo q in a lobby of SWF.
Don't know what else to say other than I hope you get ggs and best of luck in the Fog.
-
I have to say this is not the case with every SWF, nor my SWF group- not only do they bring along dead weight (me), we've had dance offs, accidentally sandbagged one another, tried to meme with favorite Killers, etc. It's incredibly fun, but not a sweat SWF by any means. Sometimes SWF groups just want to enjoy hanging out π€·ββοΈ

It is something to be taken seriously because media is a reflection of societal climate.

Game health isn't just about how well the game functions technically, but also how well it's modeling healthy representation of others. And if you think that's nonsense then consider it from a business/profit standpoint: A game (or most media these days), are leaving money on the table by excluding specific groups of ppl.

Can you please tell me where I've said I can't function if a video game doesn't represent my demographic/lifestyle? I mean, I lived through the dark ages of gaming where a woman's primary role was damsel in distress, or eye candy in titty armor. Doesn't mean I didn't play through it,, doesn't mean I didn't LOVE every second of playing a powerful, competent woman in CONTROL π€·ββοΈ

If you don't feel welcome to play a videogame due to you not being represented you live a very sad life and are missing out on so much. Lmfao
I think you have this wrong...I'm not advocating for me but for others. I'm a straight female and DbD gives me plenty of representation. I'm advocating for others, and some of them are friends, who aren't so lucky. I want them to have the opportunity to feel included, too.

Apparently you don't understand the concept of representation. Obviously nobody will play just because of that. If, however you are new to a game, or been around a while, you'll probably be happy to able to see yourself in a character. Why do you think survivors main a certain character? Because something about that character speaks to them.
Not everything has a pc agenda behind it. Sometimes it's just a nice thing to do.
You make a great point- I'm a Cheryl main when I play survivor, and guess what drew me to DbD? The Silent Hill chapter. My love for the Silent Hill series was what got me to play, and I stayed because I enjoyed the game. Same thing can be said, I'm sure, for fans of Stranger Things. So to say that representation isn't important, than why bother with licensed chapters? It's just another form of player representation.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I agree completely!

That's a Mister Fantastic level of reach.
Maybe if this were Dragon Age or Mass Effect, but this is a game where every Survivor is a paper doll with exchangeable perks. Whatever "lore" the character has is as relevant as the ingredients on the back of a shampoo bottle you read because you forgot to take your phone into the bathroom.
And no, it won't change gameplay. You cannot name one game mechanic that will be altered with this move. They can do it if the want, but thinking this will speed up your queue times is wishful thinking AT BEST.
Then what's the harm in indulging in wishful thinking? Who and how is the game being harmed by offering inclusion and representation? If it won't change gameplay, why complain? And if it does, how awesome! Do you need a hug, Debbie Downer? Cuz I've got extras π€

This is the general problem I see in the community. People make a lot of asumptions about their teammates and are quick to blame others without knowing the full story.
Don't worry about it. If you pip you contributed something to the team.
I think that's key- ppl need to look at the final points before they make their assumption. But most ppl just leave to get to the next game, so most ppl probably really never know.
-
@EvanSnowWolf said:
YAY! It's about time! Think about what this will do to the current gameplay!
Oh, right. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
It will bring tangible representation to a certain demographic. Ppl gravitate to spaces where they feel INCLUDED, and they'll naturally want to join in. So yes, I think this will change the current gameplay, because YES, more players mean a stronger community and hopefully faster queue times.
