Why are killers being given ANOTHER objective? Survivors need an additional objective, not killers. This is seriously busted.
-
Yet killers can't move their hex perks to a more advantageous spot... This game just keeps getting worse.

No, a Survivor can bless a Hex totem turning it into a Boon totem....if the killer snuffs out the Boon, the the totem returns to a Dull totem.
The blessing of a totem takes as long or longer than a Hex totem to cleanse.
So... Killers get a new objective. And survivors get minimal drawbacks to losing a boon totem, especially when they can gain 90% to healing and safety from aura reading.
The few select killer buffs do not cancel out this crazy power swing in the survivors' favor. Yikes to the queues.

It's not THAT bad. Boon totems' effects are bound to one area.
Hex totems are global.
And ironically, do bones.
Everyone's been suggesting that BHVR give the survivors an additional objective. BHVR gave killers an additional objective and gave survivors infinite undying. Buffs to a few select killers don't equal out to boon perks for ALL survivors.

I dont understand why everyone defends killers in this forums
Killers are players, too, my dude. Just because someone is playing the solo role doesn't mean they shouldn't have fun. Like, come on. Keys and SWF are anti-fun for killers. It makes their experience miserable. Maybe think things through from both sides?

How many god-level SWF's did you actually go against?. SWF is pretty common at red ranks, yes. But most of the SWF's are chill and they are not really good. I dont understand why you take this game and SWF too seriously. If you lose, just give a cheers to your opponent and move on. I think you exaggerate the power of SWF. As i said you dont go against a good SWF too often. You cant win every match, accept it.
As for the keys, i dont think key escapes happen often. And i know even though you complain about the keys you bring it at least once. If you hate keys SO much just bring franklins, its not that hard.
The things you should complain about are Spirit, Nurse, Ruin + Undying, Wraith and OP Myers addons. Killer is the power role in this game if you know how to play it.
Dear killers, if you expect to win every match, just play with bots with the new update.
OP Myers add-ons? You're talking about Tombstones, I assume. I mean. Do you realize how much of a toll that takes on the stalking? Sure, you can delete a survivor, but if everyone's working on gens in the meanwhile, you're still going to lose.
Also, Franklin doesn't wholly counter keys anymore.
If you're having trouble with Wraith, then you're either playing against a good killer or you're a bad survivor. Spirit can be annoying. I get that. Her counterplay is nearly non-existent. But Nurse? Nurse takes serious skill and has already received her fair share of nerfs (along with having her own bugs to contend with). Nurse is fine.

Gens take 80 seconds to do.
Each hook state take 60 seconds. If you facecamp for all 120 seconds, three gens are easily done if the survivors are doing their job. That's not including the initial chase. With a second hunt, chase, and facecamp, there is plenty of time to finish the final two gens and the totems.

Its not all match. Its once per 40 seconds of walking around. No one is using their exhaustion perks more than once per chase and 3 seconds vs 1 shot are 2 different things. NOED is a free down for not doing your objective and probably face camping. A survivor has limited time in a match, specially with Ruin in the game to do all totems plus all gens if someone is being camped.
If you want to reverse that experience, run no slowdown perks against SWFs and nothing that speeds up attack recovery and dont use Spirit or Nurse and tell me how it feels to get rushed without no real way to stop it. Its the same for survivors. You have limited time. You waste time looking for hidden totems while someone is camped and you lose a survivor with no gen progress. Now its a 3 vs 1.
All you have to do it repeat the camp and now its a 2 vs 1 with 3 gens left and now you're 1 gen left with 1 on the the hook and 1 person doing the last gen. This would be every match if the killer catches someone quickly and face camps while the survivors are worrying about NOED. Not enough time. Gens take 80 seconds. Totems take 15 seconds and you have to find them also. Hook timer is 2 minutes until death. See the issue here? If a killer just camps with NOED, you will always lose as a survivor.
That shouldn't be rewarded. Half of the time, survivor's don't even get Adrenaline because they're dead before it begins and NOED speed boost is permanent while exhaustion ones are 3 seconds with a long CD and have requirements for activation. NOED needs changed. I say 6 hooks to get NOED and if a survivor isn't rescued for a hook state, that hook state doesn't count towards NOED.
If all you do is camp all game, you eliminate two survivors, and there are STILL 3 gens left, then the survivors were just bad to begin with, tbh, totems or not.

Nope, I didn't read it. ;)
I mean, assuming you pay as much attention to these threads as you did to the colorblind ones, NOED is here to stay until you lash out on stream again. Things only change in this game when the devs feel pressured. They don't want to balance or optimize the game of their own accord. Because that would be trying.

So. I don't even know where to begin when talking about what is wrong with spirit. I play this game at rank 1 killer and survivor and in the past 4 games, I have gone against rank 1 spirits who were all running stridor. It makes the game just purely unfun.
Spirit has absolutely zero counterplay. Her power allows the chase to become 100% killer-sided. The survivors have no clue where she is coming from while she is phasing, she can move nearly twice as fast as a running survivor, and she can reappear and attack within a second, giving the survivor zero chance to respond.
Not to mention that she can hear all noises and see scratch marks while being able to phase. This means that the only good counterplay to a spirit is to begin walking. If you are injured, however, walking is almost pointless. A walking survivor moves at a speed of 2.26m/s while a phasing spirit moves at a speed of 7.04m/s. This speed difference limits the distance a survivor can move before the spirit catches up, giving the spirit a greater advantage in the chase. Bringing back if the survivor were to be injured, the spirit just simply has to listen to where the grunts of pain are coming from (which are directional) and pinpoint where the survivor is.
Sure, you may suggest that the survivor bring the perk iron will. While this may be a good option, most Spirit players bring the perk stridor, countering iron will and making it a waste of a perk slot. Also, why should survivors be pressured into bringing a perk to counter a single killer of the 24? Statistically, if the absolute killer pick rates are evenly distributed (which it is not) that Spirit will be played just above 4% of the time. And if we say that only 50% of Spirit players bring stridor (which is probably higher) that bringing the perk iron will, will only be completely worth it 2% of the time. For something to be that statistically rare, it is unreasonable to be able to conclude that bringing the perk iron will is a reasonable counter to spirit.
In addition to all of this, Spirit, as of 2020 had one of the highest pick rates and kill rates of the 21 killers that were out at the time Dead by Daylight released this information. I am sure that if you looked at the pick rates and kill rates of red rank killers, Spirit's position would have no doubt either increased or stayed the same. With this information, I don't understand how a killer that has been in this game for nearly 3 years has rarely been touched. Sure, she was nerfed when she first came out but ever since then I don't recall a time when the spirit was nerfed or changed.
Using the information that Dead by Daylight released to the public back in 2020 about the pick rates and kill rates of all killers at red ranks (Huntress, Blight, Nurse, Spirit, Deathslinger) Spirit had the highest kill rate. Not to mention that to play the spirit only requires the ability to have ears, which is a much lower "skill needed" to play when compared to the other 4 killers listed. This is yet another reason why so many people, including me, don't support Spirit players nor find it fun to play against them (not to mention any of her addons because that is a whole other issue).
Given how killer design has been developing, the devs appear to favor killers in chase... They want killers to be threatening 1v1, but they want them to lose the 1v4. Sure, it's unfun for the survivor vsing the Spirit (or Slinger or PH or Victor or Trickster or Nemmy), but the other 3 are going to get gens done in no time.

Does it proc when a survivor goes to injured from Plague’s infection? If so, that would be amazing. Infect multiple survivors and anyone who chooses not to cleanse gets hit with Oblivious. That would add pressure and incentive to cleanse, giving Plague more Corrupt Purge and ranged attacks.

First of all,
I understand that bugs and crashes are frustating and lows the fun of playing the game. But every game this big has the problems.
But to criticize every chapter or update saying its unplayable and demand a ridiculous amount BP for free is just disproportionate.
For example Skyrim had so many bugs over years and no one got any "compensation". We all get free Bp for the many bugs in dbd. Be greatful. I mean its still playable and enjoyable. Take it like a grown up.
Skyrim was not an online multiplayer game. Bugs and crashes could be dealt with using old saves. You learned to save often. In DBD, bugs and crashes cause you to lose. No saves. No backups.
Don't be scared: compare DBD to Fallout 76. That's more appropriate.

Just learn to play him. You can’t just be lazy and demand buffs on already op killers. That is why you see so many red rank killers without skill. They never had to improve or practice. It’s a huge issue in dbd now, as you can see on this forum.
OP killers? Are you seriously calling Nemesis OP...? The zombies are RNG. Without the zombies being consistent, he has no map pressure and no gen pressure. Add on the fact that his tentacle does .25 seconds of slowdown to a speed burst, effectively doing nothing to slow down the survivor. If you chase a survivor, it takes three hits of the M2 to down them. With poor RNG with the zombie AI (something that happens on most open maps), he's lackluster.

if ur going to comment on how a killer is 'SEVERELY lacking' but can't be bothered to even say what should be changed then i literally don't understand what ur point of this post was... the only killers with decent map pressure are spirit, nurse, and arguably billy... not every killer they are going to release is going to have some insane power that is able to teleport across the map and stop a gen from popping.
if u think a killer needs to be reworked bc they lack 'gen pressure' then u either need to be usng better perks or stop tunnelng and pressure survivors off gens
The issue of lacking gen pressure (for all killers) is one of survivor spawns. But on the subject of Nemesis: one of his abilities needs to be buffed. Whether that's enhanced distance on the tentacle, autodamage on the first tentacle hit, better zombie AI, etc. He has bits and pieces of everything, but he excels at nothing to the point that he falls flat.

They’re Zombies. They’re brain dead. You can’t expect them to behave intelligently.
They should follow basic zombie rules. A generator being worked on nearby? Noise attracts a zombie. Fast vault, dropped pallet, or fast locker? Noise attracts a zombie. And before people say: "But a zombie moving straight to a generator is OP!!!", consider the state of Nemesis. It takes 3 hits to down a survivor, including giving them two speed bursts. The zombies move terribly slow. His power takes multiple hits to become decent. Adding slight gen slowdown in the form of noise-based patrolling zombies wouldn't do anything except balance him.

If something starts happening in the trial that is frustating you, focus on the music and sing along.
It will get your mind out of the game for a bit
If in-game sounds weren't so important for killer, I'd agree with you. Unfortunately, being immersed is somewhat necessary for killers to be able to hear footsteps/breathing.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/257647/keys-keys-everywhere
The Franklin’s nerf was VERY well-deserved. In no circumstances should a killer be able to steal survivors’ items. Keys are not broken. Killers running stacked regression perks are an epidemic, many killers have broken add-ons in dire need of rework, majority of maps in this game are heavily killer-sided. Right now, killers are almost unstoppable. Keys are needed to level the playing field against opponents running busted builds and crutching on broken Midwich/Saloon offerings.
Survivor spasms are broken af. More often than not, survivors spawn separated and right beside gens. This maximize their time on gens while minimizing their startup time.
So, the killer still has heavy startup time and is then stuck chasing a survivor down while the other survivors are on three separate gens.
While survivors may not be completely separate every game, it happens more often than not, especially in larger maps.
Survivor is the power role if both sides are equally skilled, and there’s no real challenge for them atm.
-
The rng feels awful for both sides. They either camp a hook/generator and down the whole team or they wander around in the middle of nowhere.
They should be attracted to the nearest active generator or the nearest slammed pallet to offer some kind of forced counterplay that offsets Nemesis’ abysmally slow start. You know, classic zombie rules of being attracted to loud noises.
-
@Satelit said:
Well Plagues sickness doesn't have limited cleansing
But her sickness also auto injures survivors and makes them broken if they don’t cleanse. It’s not equivalent. The extra hit just unlocks Nemesis’ ability to use his ranged attack later on which is bs

And at the highest levels of difficulty, it’s impossible to win (this is assuming 4-man SWF with 3rd party comms). To say otherwise is to Be completely disingenuous or be completely detached from the state of the game.
-
The hitbox on his right clock is terrible. Survivors can just run back toward you to avoid it, leaving you in a cooldown and making more distance. There needs to be an AOE of like a meter with the right click to keep Survivors from running toward Nemesis to avoid his attack.
-
I don’t hate survivors. I just hate SWF on comms.
-
Pig has the highest kill rate.
Myers has a ton of meme builds and fun playstyles. Scratched Mirror is particularly satisfying.
Ghostface is fun when not playing against SWF, and I personally enjoy the killer.
Pyramid Head is very strong and can hard counter DS.
Deathslinger takes a lot of practice, but he's a very powerful killer.
Oni is one of the best killers in the game in terms of mobility, map pressure, and instadown capability.
If you're only going with one, I would recommend Myers for the fun factor. Scratched Mirror, Infinite Tier 3, Tombstone, Ultra Instinct, and all of his other builds are just too much fun.

Lobby dodge SWF. Your stealth is your greatest asset, and a SWF team will destroy your ability to capitalize on that.

Franklin's Demise
NOED

You just hang out in the basement until the survivors come to steal from your chest at the end of the game. Then, you smack everyone and get as many items as possible.

Dude dead by daylight doesn’t portray the killers positively they are literally portrayed as the bad guys in the game
also way to go shutting down any attempt at discussing this issue by saying no uterus no opinion really productive
at the end of the day yes this person does need to seek help as does anyone who cannot differentiate fiction from reality
btw she isn’t going to have sex with you
Explaining a killer's backstory isn't actively portraying them negatively. Most casual players don't even care to read the backstories. Just because they're on the opposite side of the survivors doesn't mean they're being portrayed negatively either. The Trickster is being portrayed as "cool" or "slick", and that's an issue.
And you're discrediting this woman's legitimate argument based on the fact that it's a translation that you're not willing to read into. She can clearly differentiate between reality and fiction, but you're arguing that she cannot to discredit her. The point she's making is that this killer is too based in people's current realities to be an innocuous addition to the game. The number of sexual assaults worldwide is on the rise, and 35% of all women have experience sexual assault or violence at some point.
To have a modern day killer placed into the game, have him wink at the camera, and portray him as cool while knowing that a patriarchal system is in place that makes violence against women difficult to prosecute is clearly an issue that needs to be accepted.
Your "opinion" was that OP was mentally unwell. That's a terrible thing to insinuate, especially when she's trying to express how glorification of male violence against women with modern day examples can perpetuate more violence.
You don't live in fear of violence against you because of your gender, so you don't have solid ground to stand on.
I'm married, btw, so you can knock that ######### off, too.
-
@Kolossoni said:
You are comparing a fictional killer to a real life one?
Many things will likely overlap since many of the killers are based off of real life murderers.
You don't need to feel afraid of living in South Korea because of one character in one game.
If you do feel like having a panic attack, you need to go see a psychiatrist and book a meeting.
You will need professional help.
Good luck and stay safe.
You're crying hysteria over a legitimate fear of sexual violence and the nonchalance of portraying a contemporary killer as "cool"?
No uterus, no opinion.
You can't claim someone is mentally unwell because DBD is portraying a murderer in a positive light. It's a legitimate fear. After the Columbine shooters' videos were shown across the US, school shootings skyrocketed. Why? Because impressionable teenagers and children saw two guys dressed as characters from the cool, new movie that everyone was talking about. It encouraged copycats.
This is a legitimate concern.

It feels like he needs add-ons that cause status effects. Blindness/exhaustion/hemorrhage while lacerated, etc., would be helpful. Additionally, there needs to be more of a reward for hitting the knife throws that there is now. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense to throw knives over M1.

You remember how animations caused desync issues?
Well the foundations are written on poorly written and rushed code. It links things together that shouldn't affect each other, and is overall an ineffective way of writing code. This is why every patch comes out with loads of bugs. It's adding a piece of spaghetti to a bowl of it. It's all a mess. They are all tangled and messed up. Things that shouldn't effect each other Do. It sucks but that's how it is. Unless they rewrite all the code this is how it's going to be.
So due to poor coding and foundations, they have difficulty adding different features. For example, have you noticed very few new features have been added like totem and obsession, because it takes a long time to write a code that would work.
To create the code that would stop discord or any social media from functioning when using the app (they could still use a different device to get over this), they would have to add something completely new, and therefore can't do this.
The issue isn't coding against comms. The issue is coding comms in for solo and balancing around that
-
@ZarosNozara said:
Your complaining about SWF. All you have to watch is the killer god, otz play solo queue survivor to realize it is nearly impossible. If there was only solo survivor this game would be dead in it's tracks. It's hard enough to play the game in general with 20 min queues just to get facecamped. You need your friends to make the game enjoyable and to actually give you a chance. Otherwise when your not getting facecamped your watching a claudette in the corner self caring or a nea crouching around the map while you advance hook state.
Then the devs need to include comms for solo survivors and balance around that. You can't ignore the enjoyment of the killer portion of the community; queue time are long enough, aren't they?
