I’d use Task Manager.
Implying I’d ever play a game that doesn’t give you the ability to stop playing. -
I think that should be built in to the Ghost add-on maybe, wouldn’t you say?@PhantomMask20763 said:I would actually like one that makes wraith completly invisible. That would be sick. But right now the aura reading one is pretty useful as it is
Just to make sure we’re on the same page, I mean the generator aura one, not the Survivor aura one. I’ll clarify that in my post. -
@Peanits can you close this thread, as per OP’s response to the recent bumps?Might_Oakk said:Yall bumpin something I posted in August lol

Edited to remove the image of Ruin - it was meant as an **example only**, not a total rework. I didn’t have much time on my PC to make a full-on rework so I made an example to explain ‘individual effects per totem’.
-
I think this is an excellent idea, especially since it can make terror radius perks useful on Killers with sporadic TRs or even the ability to mute them entirely:
- The Wraith can keep the effects on Survivors even when he cloaks, which would especially work with his TR add-ons;
- The Legion can hit the entire map with his TR using Iridescent Button, making it more useful than seeing a Survivor is extremely far away;
- The Pig
- The Doctor with Calm add-ons.

Same actually but the rehook part is dependent on whether I think they deserve it or not.Orion said:I always respect the 11.5% (4% over 3 attempts following a binomial distribution). I observe the event like I'm watching a live birth (but with far less disgust). Once it's over, though, the survivor goes right back on that hook.
Be a toxic ass? That’s a hookin’. Do nothing all game? That’s a hookin’. Sandbag teammates and do basically everything to screw over your team? Better believe that’s a hookin’.
Also Deliverance. If you run that and I think you have it, that’s a facecamping.
But play well and play nice, you’re free to go. -
Love entitled Survivor logic.

Console bans have been implemented now, that’s how he got banned from PS4.PinkEricka said:

It's pretty easy to evade bans on pc, not sure how consoles work.
He's still making videos to this day.
Hardware banned was what made him move to PS4.
I don’t know how he got banned from PS4 since Sony isn’t really that strict but there must’ve been a lot of people making a fuss about him.
Now we just need optimisation and auto-aim or keyboard and mouse support and DBD on consoles will be complete. -
This oughta be good.
Survivor; An unfeeling guardian who, his entire life, wanted to keep his closest friends safe.
Perks:
Apathy: You have no sense of feeling for anything. Lose all aura reading abilities, become hidden from all aura reading abilities, and be unable to hear the Killer’s terror radius for the duration of the trial. If you die in the trial, gain 5%/10%/20% extra blood points awarded post trial per generator completed. If you successfully escape the trial, gain 0%/100%/200% extra blood points awarded post-trial.
“I don’t have it in me to care sometimes, but that is for your benefit when you think about it.”
Hit Me: You do your best to protect others, no matter what the cost. If a Survivor is in a chase and you take a hit for them, the Survivor’s scratch marks will be hidden for 5/7.5/10 seconds and blood trails temporarily vanish. Gain 12.5%/25%/50% more bloodpoints in the Altruism and Boldness categories during the trial.
“You’ll have to contend with me first.”
Get Up!: When your friends are in peril, you do anything to keep them safe, even if it hurts yourself. If a Survivor has been downed and you are in the injured state, you may use the ‘Get Up!’ Special action. On using Get Up!, the downed Survivor will be immediately restored to Injured state, while you fall into the Dying State in their place.
Once per trial, if you are already healthy, a Survivor rescued with Get Up! will be healed to Healthy, but you will suffer the Broken status effect for 300/240/120 seconds. Subsequent uses will heal a Survivor to Injured and apply the Doomed status effect on yourself.
“I want you to be safe, now get up and go!”
Doomed status effect: You have enraged something, and it wants you dead. While suffering from the Doomed status effect, the Killer is able to kill you by their own hand without the use of a Memento Mori offering.
Doomed is represented by a skull similar to Exposed, but split in two pieces and covered in blood.
Doomed can be applied by;
- Get Up! (on use 2 and beyond)
- Rancor (on the Obsession when all generators are complete)
- Devour Hope (on five tokens) -

The grind is ######### abysmal, even worse for Killer. Maybe the devs know that which is why they made the cosmetics take so long to get and cost $20 to get a set. -
Because it’s a perk that warrants immediate, permanent IP bans when you hack it in to use it, and I’m not sure whether discussing the perk will get me banned or barred, so I’d rather not gamble.JammyJewels said:

For Survivors, Decisive Strike is the most unhealthy in my opinion. You take this perk and literally punish the Killer for doing their objective.
On the Killers’ side, No One Escapes Death does the same to Survivors as DS does to Killers, but it’s not as unhealthy as DS because it can be countered before taking effect. -
Claudette, and Nurse.
-
Stat-wise, all Survivors are identical. There is absolutely no change in gameplay between them.
Female characters seem to look like they run faster as they take more steps in their animations than the male characters do, but all Survivors run the same base speed.
As for the camera movements, maybe you bumped the DPI or changed the sensitivity settings of your mouse or controller and didn’t realise it? Or maybe it looks and feels like the camera moves smoother due to how small the female characters are compared to the male characters - you see more of the environment past a female character model than you do for a male character model.
At least that’s my understanding. -
Alternatively, the devs could rebind the character switch to L1/LB, R1/RB, instead of the triggers.
-
Spanish people won’t know what Leader does though.
Can we get an F for all the Spanish who can’t read what Leader does? -

It is pretty satisfying to hit that button, especially as it has a "ban button" attached to it as well.
I cleared the spam before I even had my coffee this morning, sorry there was so much of it - sadly some does seep into the forum, I can assure you it's a fraction of what the filter catches though. But I appreciate how annoying it is.
Realistically there’s no reason for people to make multiple posts within a singular hour. This would help drastically with reducing spam.

Best:
The Game, for Killer and Survivor. I just love the map and enjoy playing it either Killer or Survivor.
Worst:
Yamaoka, for Survivor. Even though I mainly play Adam with a brown trench coat and blend extremely well, I just don’t really like Yamaoka’s Estate. Maybe I’m still not used to the map, two chapters later. Maybe it’s because of the pallet distribution, low compared to other maps in favour of stealth and camouflage.
For Killer... well none of them really. I don’t have a hated map as Killer. -
Exactly why I’m saying to bind Secondary Action to Square/X on the game pad as that button is unused and keep the primary actions on R1/RB.ToxicFengM1n said:@Judgement said:
You can do that even on console - go into settings and in ‘controls’, you will be able to change the button layout I believe.on console they are both secondary action, so the pallet and self care will be bound together
I play on PC, and used to play on PS4. On my PC, I use a controller to play Survivor and M/KB for Killer.
I know you can change the button layout on console because I’ve done it for both platforms.
Believe me, setting an unused button to the action that is bound to another action’s keybind really helps.
EDIT: I didn’t read your comment properly - you’re wrong about that. Self-Care counts as a Primary Action and is bound to R1/RB.
If it’s bound to M1 on PC, it’s a primary action - if it’s bound to spacebar, it’s a secondary action.
My bad. -
You can do that even on console - go into settings and in ‘controls’, you will be able to change the button layout I believe.
-
You on console or use a controller on PC?
For consoles and PC gamepads, two separate type of actions are both bound to R1/RB. Personally I circumvented it by setting the second one (for vaults and pallet drops) to Square/X, and the other one (repairs, heals, other actions) to stay at R1.
The game does not use the Square/X button for anything else so all you’ll need to do is get used to which actions are newly rebound to what button. -
There are glitches that can happen sometimes where Killers can end up outside the map. As far as I have seen, through videos and personal experience, it’s much more common for Hag (teleport misplacement) and Nurse (gaps in boundaries that allow her to blink through).
I don’t know if it’s possible on other Killers who don’t have teleporting powers, but if it is it’d have to be extremely rare, such as with bad spawns or an instance that snaps the Killer to a point (ie, interruptions off generators), going horribly wrong. -
This seems like it’d be fun but we’ll need to wait for dedicated servers for BHVR to even consider adding game modes above 5 players.
Hopefully this could become one of them with a few tweaks. -
Current BB is 5/10/15 percent and 4/8/12 seconds I think.SenzuDuck said:Oooook?
I wonder if it’s on the table to let BB block pallets down the line too for the Legion. -
I actually saw something like that a while ago, a Survivor was teleporting forward while I was chasing them and essentially doubling their speed so that it took me so much longer to catch up to them.Kaelum said:@Judgement there is something new that survivors are doing that from the killer’s side, looks like they are just jumping from point to point to point, without really running. It started a little over a month ago, where I’d see it maybe once every few days, to now where it occurrs at least once every 5-10 matches. It only seems to happen with higher ranked killers, and I didn’t see it all for the week after rank reset.
I play on PS4 and thought that it was just a PS4 thing, but then I started to see it on PC streams as well. It definitely happens more on the PS4, which means that it is some sort of black box on their Internet connection. I have a feeling that when it is turned on, it blocks like every Nth packet, which would exhibit behavior like I am seeing. I’ll have to setup WireShark and monitor the connection sometime, to see if there is a pattern.
They were totally green in the lobby and then suddenly started warping which increased their speed.
I guess it was either a speedhack or lag-switch - or both. I still managed to kill them though. -
Understandable.Peanits said:@Judgement said:
Peanits said:Whoever told you lagswitching is not bannable for survivors has lied to you. When we go through reports, we don't care in the slightest who's playing what, lagswitching is lagswitching.
Does lag-switching even work as a Survivor though?
In normal cases if a Survivor lags they get teleported back to where they last were or, if they were moving, to where they would have been if they kept going that way. For the host (Killer) and other Survivors, that one keeps running in the same direction.
At least that’s my experience with lag as a Survivor but I don’t know if lag-switching changes anything. There are ways, not going to go into details. The less is known about it the better.

I made a post about this a long time ago and it was lost to a botspam or something.
With literal lore explanation as to why he wouldn’t get caught - how long have he been killing for the Entity? And he still gets caught in his own traps.
It’s also too easy for Survivors to abuse their smaller hitbox to step around traps that Trapper cannot, which literally makes loops safe so long as there is a trap in a narrow area that a Survivor can squeeze through without setting it off.
Trapper has no reason to be caught by his own traps at all. They literally make areas safe to be in so long as a Survivor is aware of a trap’s presence. -
Actually, the Skeleton Key has 30 seconds of charge for the aura add-ons at base - the Dull Key has only 5 seconds of charge, making it essentially worthless for the auras.SnakeSound222 said:The Skeleton Key does have an advantage over the Dull Key. The Hatch will stay open for 30 seconds if opened with a skeleton key as opposed to five seconds with a Dull Key.
I thought Ultra Rares could be already found in chests and the event just increased the chances of you getting one.
The Broken Key has 10 seconds of charge but can’t be used for the hatch. Skeleton Key is good for both jobs.
Dull or Skeleton, hatch is open for 30 seconds. -
Personally, the only perks that I want to become built-in are the perks that were made as a bandaid fix to bad game design or bad mechanics, or ones that would make sense being baseline.
Pop Goes The Weasel is one of those perks that I think should have been at least partially baseline. Kicking a generator should instantly regress it by a bit at base, but instead BHVR made it into a perk. They decided to make Killers have to sacrifice a perk slot to fix a bad design choice on the devs end.
Hex: Ruin, well it’s not exactly mandatory but it does help... sometimes. I wouldn’t say it should be a baseline mechanic. In fact, I believe that if perks that should have been baseline were made baseline, Hex: Ruin wouldn’t actually be needed so much to slow the game down just a little bit.
Thanatophobia, as weak as it is, could work as a baseline mechanic to give Killers a bit of pressure. Some of the cast really need all the pressure they can get, even if it’s very little.
There’s other perks in the game that I can’t remember at the moment, that I believe should be baseline. PGTW and Thanatophobia are just two of them. -

I saw another discussion about having to complete a Captcha to be able to post a new topic on the forums as well. I think that should be done as well, as an extra layer of anti-spam.

I spent like 40 minutes or something in my first game (Killer) because for one none of us knew what we were doing and for two I was being merciful to Survivors.
I still actually have the recording, back when I used to record my DBD matches. I haven’t checked it in months but I think it was 40 minutes.
This was during a free weekend back in like May or April or something too. We were literally all noobs so it doesn’t come as a surprise to me now.
It was in that Coldwind map with the shed, back when there were total dead-ends where windows occasionally didn’t spawn.
THREE Survivors went down that way and I had them cornered then figured ‘that ain’t fair’, so I backed up and let ‘em go past then turned around for a while to let them escape, and continued again.
Everyone left the trial happy. -
I had a Billy perk idea a few months ago when Shattered Bloodlines came out, using the Broken status effect for it;
Iridescent Chain
A chain molded from the Fog that leaves naught but ruin behind.
Survivors hit by the chainsaw suffer from the Broken Status Effect for [the duration of the trial?]. Tremendously increases the chainsaw's cooldown/charge time. -
My understanding is that the game tries to make sure a client (Survivor) is still vulnerable to an interruption on their end when the host (Killer) initiates the action on their end.
So if a Survivor on their screen is not working on a generator when a Killer on their own screen is interrupting them while they are, the game will cancel the action and make the Killer strike instead.
You can see it happen more often on Survivors with higher ping as well, which leads me to believe that it’s a form of lag compensation. -

Then you get much less items.I think a better idea, would be that once you’re at P3L50, you could press a button in the middle of the web to “reroll” your current bloodweb. You could keep doing this until you see things on the web you like, and start spending your bloodpoints. However, once you’ve started spending on a bloodweb, you cannot reroll until that web is completed.
This means you could only reroll fresh bloodwebs, and this stops people from going directly for a perk, and then rerolling and getting another perk.
I 100% disagree with your post.
Item, addon and offering distribution is already good. Because of the last even, there are keys, mories, third blinks, intsa hatchets everywhere and the game is really unfun at the moment. I face 7 purple/skeleton keys as a killer (out of 10), and in more than half of my survivor matches there were ebony mories.
In the second part of your post, you said that it would prevent people getting the perks easily. Why do you not want them to get the perks easily though? It is grindy af to get all the perks at the moment.
All in all, bloodpoints earning rate and the game's economy is quite balanced imo. The only problem with the grind is perks and they should be easier to acquire. OP's idea is quite good imo, another approach would be allowing players to get 2 or 3 perks per bloodweb.
Instahatchets dont even exist anymore dude.

I was actually told once that if the Hag and the Doctor DLCs were purchased before the store that allows them to be unlocked with Shards opened in 2.0.0, users would get exclusive cosmetics as thanks or compensation or something.
Apparently it was meant to be a thing to compensate players who paid for the DLC by giving them free exclusives since he DLC’s contents can now be obtained without paying.
I guess it was a lie because I didn’t get anything when 2.0.0 came out.
I still think BHVR should have done something of the sort though. Maybe they should give some form of exclusive cosmetic or something to users who purchase the DLC as opposed to farming it? I don’t know. -
And yet another bot raid came by and blew my post off into oblivion again.
Re-bump. -
They need to change how users can sign up for forum accounts so that forum moderators need to validate their accounts before they can post.
And there you go - no more spam bots raiding the forums when the mods are asleep, because there’ll be no more being let into the forums to begin with. -

Is that a new thing or should I just report this guy for threatening me ?!
Thanks
You could try blocking him instead and not start silly threads.
I played a game with a streamer and ended up in their lobby, told them in chat and paused the stream so I could play without sniping or feeding info or anything.
Right at the end I said “gg [streamer name]” and the last guy who died, who died on hook from second phase while I waited near the gate and took the hatch, accused us of working with each other and getting me and the streamer banned for it.
I came to these forums to ask if I could legit be banned just because some salty ######### who expected me to kill myself saving him saw me say gg to the streamer immediately after the game’s end. I was scared I’d actually get banned - Survivor-Killer team-up farming is bannable permanently, and I wasn’t teaming.
Fortunately I was told no, and apparently that was true because I haven’t been banned for it.
So I ask again - how would you react if you were told you might get banned for something you’re not 100% certain on being rule-breaking or not? -
In all fairness, BHVR should allow DBD Console players to use M/KB.Peanits said:I don't think we'd ban for that. This isn't the type of game where you get a significant advantage with a mouse/keyboard. Even if we decide to later on down the line, we would make sure it is properly announced first.
While reports are already saved, we don't have a ban system in place on the console versions of the game just yet. The rules still stand for the console versions as well, and something someone does now can still be punished later. The rules exist, the ban system does not.
But as far as using a keyboard/mouse on consoles, we have no rule against that at the moment. As always, if that changes, we will make sure to announce it first and we would not retroactively ban someone for doing so before the rules changed.
Just double check the TOS for your platform. If Microsoft or Sony say not to do it, you probably shouldn't do it. They can enforce their TOS and we won't be able to help you if they do, so just make sure it's okay first.
The sole reason why being that it’s much harder to catch and track juking Survivors when you can’t turn as fast and precisely as you would with a mouse.
Regarding the use of Xim4 on PS4 specifically, I do not think Sony bans Xim4 M/KB users so long as they do not use Xim4 in multiplayer - I think it’s fine using M/KB in single-player only.
I don’t know if game developers can request exemptions for their games but it might be a good thing to bring up to BHVR so they can bring it up to Sony, considering how awfully a controller limits and negatively affects Killers. -
I remember shortly after I posted this it got spammed off by a massive bot raid and lost in a rush of discussions made by legitimate users, so I want to bump this to reignite this discussion as I didn’t get the chance to last time.

There used to be a time when the devs went too far in “fixes” and made it so any stun at any time of picking up a Survivor would cause the Killer to drop them when the animation is complete.
But never have Killers been able to drop Survivors mid-pickup. -
