If you use a controller and you’re searching a chest, if you wiggle the stick around rapidly you might automatically cancel the chest closing animation, even when the lid is still closing itself. Good for having to get away quickly, but I think the devs should remove the ‘close incomplete chest’ animation and just make the lid auto-close so a Survivor can run immediately instead of being stuck even when hit.

6%?
@Ihatelife Bleedout timer is four minutes. Six percent would be less than 20 seconds, in fact.
@ZFennecFox That being said, this perk won’t be useful. It’d give at least one more self-pickup with Unbreakable and No Mither, assuming you stay in the Terror Radius.
Good idea on paper though.
-
The hitbox is huge for the stun, but so is the time it takes for it to activate.
The stun only takes effect after the Survivor has fully exited the locker and the door closes. That gives a Killer the ability to just totally interrupt the Survivor as they jump out, getting a locker pull, and making it useless. At the same time, the hitbox is gigantic, but I don’t know exactly how big it is - I only know that it is big.

Calm Spirit becomes meta.

I mained Killer for a month after I got the game then decided to play Survivor for a while.
Didn’t expect to enjoy it so much, then suddenly my Dwight was level 50.
Basically I just went straight in without bothering to do or change anything for my Survivor, didn’t bother selecting perks or selecting any other character. Just went Dwight and played.
I play both roles about the same now.
I mained Dwight until Shattered Bloodlines dropped and now I play Adam with a dark coat because camo.

I highly recommend using Predator as the Spirit. Default scratch marks can throw you off if you aren’t smart but Predator tightens them up and gives you a direct line to where a Survivor is. If you use it every game though, you’ll find it feels mandatory and have trouble playing without it. I made that mistake myself.
Aura stuff is useless in my personal opinion, as she can’t see auras while haunting.
Mind games out the ass with this Killer - you can stand completely still and pretend you’re haunting to make them abandon the loop or run into you, you can stand at a window and pretend to be vaulting, you can even stand at a hook just after putting a Survivor on it and wait a moment in case someone tries to pull them off thinking you’re not there.
Besides all that, you just gotta get good and hope the survivors you’re facing haven’t gotten good.

Pig doesn’t give Survivors literal invincibility, so...

A month back or so, there was a ‘make a Survivor/killer version of yourself’ and I played ball. Here’s the one I think is best from my three.
Apathy: You have no sense of feeling for anything. Lose all aura reading abilities, become hidden from all aura reading abilities, and be unable to hear the Killer’s terror radius for the duration of the trial. If you die in the trial, gain 5%/10%/20% extra blood points awarded post trial per generator completed. If you successfully escape the trial, gain 0%/100%/200% extra blood points awarded post-trial.

That’s only the ‘nerf’ side of the rework idea. Legion should have another positive change to his Feral Frenzy, yes, but changing the revelation to aura instead of location would effectively balance it out enough for the stabby stabs to be buffed.
Just haven’t thought about how to buff the stabbin’.

Reveal aura would get blocked by lockers.
And a set distance would be either a nerf or a buff, depending on what distance you think about.
Jeff came with Distortion which was designed to counter auras. It doesn’t make sense that the Killer that came with him has no aura use in their power though.
If FF’s Killer Instinct did auras instead of locations, it’d be far more easily manageable and counterable;
- Locker dive
- Get out of range
- Hide behind a generator
- Distortion
- basically any counter to BBQ as well
Some of their useless add-ons (ie, the buttons or the rulers) could be reworked to increase the set range of the aura revelation, or maybe even make auras stay visible for some time after FF ends.
Just tuning the power to reveal auras instead of locations would make it far more tolerable as it’s got no counterplay as is.
-
They need to make Frenzy reveal auras, not locations, within a set distance, not Terror Radius. Then it’s way less broken, easily.

That’s not the point - the point is that flashlight clicking should drain the flashlight for every time it’s turned on.
A player can set Item to mousewheel and scroll to make a consistent clicking noise, to attract the Killer after them or after other Survivors, or for whatever trolling purposes. There’s also the fact that it’s already usable for bullying and taunting the Killer by going clicky clicky after ‘sick juke dude pallet stun lmao’.
Every click or every time the flashlight is turned on should use part of the charge. Maybe to compensate, give it a brighter flash when first turned on to balance it out and make flashlights not useless as a result, but clicking needs to go.

Wasn’t golden Feng a form of Legacy for her or something? I know that only a few people have the outfit but I’m not sure where exactly they got it.
Since there aren’t a lot of people who do, I can only assume it’s a Feng Legacy.

BBQ have counters.
If your fella is downed near you enough run toward them and the killer won't see you.
If you are far away use a locker and exit or run 5 seconds in one direction and then change direction.
In fact, BBQ will be buffed in the next chapter.
Technically, normalising the primary effects of perks across all three tiers isn’t so much of a ‘buff’.
NOED for example wasn’t technically buffed because Exposed was normalised across all tiers. In fact the removal of the attack cooldown made it a nerf. It just makes the perk not worthless at Tier 1 or 2.
Maybe this is the way the devs are preparing for removing the perk tier mechanic from the game down the line?
Either way, there’s no reason to use BBQ for the auras or the points unless it’s T3, so at least making T1 and 2 have 40m would encourage people using it more than they already do if it’s not max tier.
It doesn’t buff the T3 perk in any way - just normalises T1 and T2 to not be absolutely useless.

It's the fact that he spent minutes hitting me on the hook then insulted me post game, all because he made mistakes. I mean moonwalking in clear line of sight?
He was red rank too so should have known better. It's normally new players who act like this.
‘He was red rank too... ... it’s normally new players.’
Current ranking system, a new player could rocket to the reds within a few days, especially if there’s been an influx of players such as a free weekend or something.
Veteran players can even get to Rank 1 less than 12 hours after a rank reset as well, that’s with constantly playing the game without any breaks I believe, unless I’m still underestimating the ranking system.
Hopefully the new one with 2.6.0 will fix the new players getting into the reds, but the new pip system seems to require both Killers and Survivors to do well and hit at least 24k bloodpoints just to get one pip. Hell, Tru3 got a 4K with 5 gens remaining and only black pipped, so that system will need tweaks but will definitely fix the problems with noobs in red ranks it seems.

BHVR might have been going to change the chase rituals to ‘120/180 seconds’ instead of ‘2/3 minutes’, but didn’t change the numbers or the constraint yet.
Reason I believe this is because Survivor has ‘co op action for x seconds’. Though Survivor does have ‘be chased for x minutes with y survivor’, it’s possible the devs are going to change all of those to ‘seconds’ to make it easier to accurately determine how far along players are in completing the daily.
-
Is The Plague the singular oldest Killer in Dead By Daylight of all time, including future chapters? Or is she only the oldest Killer as of current?
-
Make her able to infect Survivors within TR for x seconds after Vile Purge, or while charging Vile Puge, perhaps? But don’t turn her into Doctor 2.0. She’s already Huntress 2.0.

Cool! so when's Noed getting 'looked at' or should we ask for a Survivor equivalent hex where once the last gen is completed both gates automatically open, that would be equally as fair.
NOED is not and will not be getting changed because of DS being changed. The devs themselves literally stated that.
Yours sounds like a ‘git gud’ problem to me.

Noice.

SO IT TURNS OUT SHE DID ALL OF THEM
Plague whacks them with the burner, prays and chants, picks them up with the chain, and vomits in their face.
This also makes The Plague the FIRST CHARACTER IN DEAD BY DAYLIGHT with actual voice lines.

There are a whole lot of perks that should have been worked out and made baseline, not bandaid. If you ask anyone in the forums, making perks mandatory for fixing broken aspects of the game (Ruin for genrush, Bamboozle + SF + Enduring for broken loops, Coulrophobia + Sloppy for healing etc) is bad game design.
That isn’t to say DBD is a bad game though. It’s just not as good as it could be, due solely to the way BHVR manage fixing the bad aspects. If they tweaked baseline stats and nerfed the perks to compensate, the game would be way better.

Honest question how do you force someone to farm? Or would this fall in line with just holding the game hostage?
Hook farming them against their will if one way to force someone to farm.
Also, other Survivors can pretty much force someone to farm by bodyblocking them for the Killer and farming from them.
That being said, being forced to farm doesn’t necessarily mean you’re forced to get points - it can also mean they’re using you against your will to farm points.
-
Hey, keep in mind that you don’t have a game without Killers. Play nice.
-
This is actually a great idea. It could be used specifically to complement the Terror Radius for Survivors, since said part-/deaf people would have difficulty hearing it. But a controller vibration would be a good substitute.
-
Actually it does - you might have not read it properly;BACKSTABBER said:Awesome thanks, why the description is not saying that key info?
But seeing as the game says nothing about the specifics of a Safe Hook Rescue, I’d be unsurprised if people confuse it with ‘Hook Save’. -
I don’t know about you, but I do love me some explosions.Peanits said:, so it would just look like it exploded.
-
You don’t just need an unhook - you need a safe unhook. That means the Survivor you rescue needs to stay unharmed for 5 seconds after being unhooked.
If you don’t get a safe unhook, you don’t get Deliverance. Don’t pull a guy off the hook and let him go down immediately.
If you ask me though, I think BHVR should change the rules on ‘safe unhook’, considering BT and We’ll Make It makes it impossible to down the Survivor again within 5 seconds to prevent Deliverance. -
Literally all this feature brought was grievances regarding unintentional switching, and an exploit - nothing good came of it.
Better to remove it than bother fixing or changing it, especially with the game’s spaghetti code. Trying to change this thing could probably cause pallets to cease existing for all we know, but since it’s one of the newest features it can’t be that bad just removing it. -
I assume the game doesn’t pre-load or prepare status icons until the first time you get afflicted by a status since booting up the game. I used to get hit so hard with Sloppy Butcher’s status icons popping up for the first time I get hit by it as Survivor, that my game would damn near crash. This was mostly fixed with the new engine change. My PC is only a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop so I don’t expect top performance either so long as I can play.
I’m pretty sure it’s a Unity Engine problem, but I’m also aware that status icons first appearances hit your CPU hard if you don’t have a good one. -
I was less than 100 hours into the game. Spawned into Grim Pantry, next to the Killer Shack, with another Survivor, and slowly approached.
As soon as I got into the doorway, a crouching Pig appears in the bottom corner of my screen, around the outside, as I'm standing just beside the doorway.
I shat myself so hard, I just disconnected and needed to take five to chill after nearly passing out from terror.
I saw a jiggy box so I knew it was Pig already, but I didn't expect her to be right next to me. Didn't even hear any breathing or rustling grass, I originally thought she was the other Survivor who spawned next to me before my brain processed the Pig mask and I heard the roar and got stabbed. Was always scared of the Pig.Bar that, I got hit by a Scratched Mirror Myers in The Game once, and that scared the hell out of me too.
Basically any silent/stealth Killer, still scares me to this day.
Also, Trapper and Hag. I HATE Trapper and Hag. -
Being AFK one or two games is not bannable, nor is going AFK mid-game like a pseudo-ragequit or something, but if you go into multiple games in a row and leave it alone, your account will rack up AFK reports and once the appropriate authorities of the game check it and realise ‘yeah this guy’s actually doing what the reports say’, you will get sanctioned.Master said:

However, if you just do the generators and leave, you’re fine. If you get in a game with an idling or botting Killer, don’t interact with the Killer at all, just complete generators and go. You won’t get banned for doing your objective and leaving immediately.
Regarding disconnections though, you don’t get punished for disconnections unless you do it too much, and the bans come in waves and hit many people at the same time. One or two disconnections here or there won’t get you punished, but if you disconnect nearly every game you play, you will be hit by the next ban wave.
At least that's what I've been told by mods. If that had changed, then I will need official confirmation. (Guess you need to derank cx DCing if you get banned for afking lul) -
Killer botting is literally not even playing the game - they are using a program outside of the game to basically play it for them and farm points with Survivors. It’s illegal for Survivors to farm with the bot as well because of what the Killer is doing. -

Have you tried adding a ‘confirmation by admin’ thing so an account isn’t complete and can’t post until forum staff approve it?MandyTalk said:I'm sorry about the spam - I've removed it it all now. I’ve seen other forums do this and it works wonders in preventing spam. You won’t need to deal with 15+ pages of spam in future since the spamming bot account would need to be approved before they could post. -

I would like to be able to have at least one chance of getting up on my own without having to rely on other survivors who not all of them will help you.
Thoughts anyone.
If you do use Deliverance, you’ll get whacked and thrown back on the hook immediately.
Though otherwise I would agree considering it gives both sides more points, it’s just a waste of time if anything. -
Where are the mods?
-
Really, Shadowborn should be reworked and M&A gave the FOV changer removed, and the devs should add a settings option to manually change FOV.
It’s bad enough that they prefer to make perks to bandaid broken mechanics instead of just fixing them, but forcing players to use a perk slot to not feel nauseous/claustrophobic when playing Killer is a whole new level. -
That’s Hide or Die.Coriander said:What was that game where it was like 99 people enter and have to open the gates so everyone can go through, meanwhile the killer is taking them out one by one... and I think every section there's a new killer, or something. Hope to god the devs don't actually believe it though.
Back on topic, OP, by 'offensive actions', do you mean recoveries from missed and successful attacks? Because if so it could either make Fire Up balanced or knock it out of whack beyond belief. -
They need to rework the Shrine of Secrets - make every single perk available to purchase and eight of them go on sale every week.
Make it like this;
Perks from DLC Killers and Survivors = 8k Iridescent Shards
Perks from non-DLC Killers and Survivors = 4k Iridescent Shards
Every week, two DLC Killer, two DLC Survivor, two non-DLC Killer and two non-DLC Survivor perks go 'on sale' and their prices are halved.
On Sale DLC Killer and Survivor perks = 4k Iridescent Shards
On Sale non-DLC Killer and Survivor perks = 2k Iridescent Shards.Maybe they could bump up the prices a little bit to make it more difficult to get DLC perks, and perhaps add the option to buy perks with Auric Cells maybe so they have another way to make money, to make up for a potential decrease in sales resulting from DLC perks being purchasable for free.
-
A Beacon will only make stealth more difficult - not chasing.
A godly looper who runs the Killer around until all generators are completed and straight out the gate can reap the bloodpoint gains from Beacon without the brightness making any difference for him. If anything this will make it easier for said looper to keep the Killer chasing him since he’d be harder to lose. -
And now I want someone to make a DBD version of ‘X Gon Give It To Ya’.
