This particular case.
"One feature we are experimenting with is a status icon next to each Survivor’s portrait in the HUD that lets you know what they are doing. This way, solo Survivors can base their decision around what their teammates are doing, and partial groups get a better idea of their solo teammates’ contributions, making everyone feel like more of a team. This is something that can already be easily conveyed with a quick callout over voice chat, but is currently not available to solo Survivors. Once again, this is a very early preview- so early that we’re still discussing this internally. Feel free to share your thoughts, but please keep in mind that none of this is final or confirmed. Depending on how things go, this feature may be changed or scrapped entirely before it ever sees the light of day. We wanted to be open about this and keep you in the loop: The gap between solo Survivors and groups is not going under the radar, it’s something we’re actively working on"
I think the thought process behind is disastrous. This coming from someone who has been playing Solo queue for years. I don't think Survivor should be hand held because they have the game sense of a potato. I want the average survivor to improve not because they're spoon fed every information in the game on a magical hud. I don't care if this closes the gap between Randoms and SWF. Go use Kindred or rely solely on game sense.
If some killers can figure out Survivor movement without any information perk at all WITH a first person perspective you can too with Third person camera and I have been doing so with enough accuracy to get consistent 3-4 man escapes and this is with randoms. My best memories in this game is clicking with randoms like we were navy seals and getting out alive
Map awareness is a skill and they're destroying it with this hand holding.
Also keep in mind this isn't final but I'm just putting my thoughts out there. I don't want this in the game.
Awww... I came in here thinking physically hand holding like you can do in Humans fall flat and I AM SO READY FOR THAT. Pulling survivors out of a gen and trolling in general would be so fun (maybe only available in private games though, it'd be really toxic in public games).
The new solo q HUD info is not necessary for me.
I change my build when I play solo and it's part of the fun.
-
I can only suggest you ignore it and move on. I get how annoying it can be, but I don't post/write anything to anyone.
I've been brought up to only open my mouth if I have something nice to say. I obviously don't stick to it all the time, but online? 100% lol.
I personally don't want to be atta jed by some salty expert that can tell how the game is gonna be in 10 seconds.
Also, by the way, that is utter bull crap.
The amount of times I've seen the game start and it seems as if we're doomed, but then completely turn the table is incredible. Plus you feel pretty good about it too.
-
What's your problem with the snowmen?
They were fun!
I danced a lot in those
-
I rember I got into it because se friends had been playing for about a week. I got suggested to start with a Claudettes because of the self-caring perk and being really scared of running because of the scratch marks.
Healing in a corner was pretty standard before knowing what nurse was, I just knew killers could find you and crouching every time I heard the TR.
Ah, those were the days lol

@ChiSoxFan11 said:
I learned not that long ago (I've been playing for nearly two years) that The Nurse can't blink while they're being flashlight-blinded. Your blink won't charge until you're out of the stun. Considering how little Nurse I play, and the fact I never use flashlights (since I'm terrible with them), I'm not terribly surprised it took me nearly two years to figure this out.
I did not know this (and for the same reason as you)
-
A friend recently told me that, if you try to blind the kler by the doors and you get hit, you actually get dragged back inside, regardless of which direction you were going in.
I then saw it in a game and I found it hilarious.
Those trying to get that ind with the safety net of being by the gates lol

I'm yet to do his adept.
I was waiting so I wouldn't get tunneled out lol.
Imma wait out a little longer.
Plus I just promised a BUBBA I'd play as Jake today so he can get his mask.
-
I read you and I'm going to Jake today and his hair full of twigs. I hope I see you!
-
I guess normally means keeping tabs on everyone.
Make sure they've all stunned you a couple of times.
If you hook survivor #1, then #2 and #3. Don't, for the love of God, hook #2 before finding number #4.
How dare you not keep the order? Lol
What I'm trying to say is: there is no "normal playing". There are so many perks and builds for different outcomes and you play against 4 survivors that have their own objectives in mind, not always the same.
Do whatever you want and be happy, my friend.
-
Head-on makes me laugh every time. If they have iron maiden, I find it even funnier, not sure why.
But I'll try to use it and not do much else.

Yep, same. But I honestly don't care if they're streamers or fog whisperers. I'm going to try to kill them in game
Innit? It's your role as killer.
As a player, play however you want in order to enjoy the game.
I used to get upset if I felt I was being tunneled or killed unfairly (like, two people who've done nothing all game get to live, #########?).
But I realised, thankfully a long time ago, that any game-play is valid, whether I like it or not. That's not "my enemy's" business.
I think people that complain about these things fail to realise that their idea of behaviour is not universal nor should it be the absolute example.
I'm lucky I don't have end game chat, I don't know if you can switch it off, but that's what I'd do.
All the best out there.

Exactly. They were just pissed because I went after the afk person and the afk person were a streamer.
Oh, how dare you touch a streamer! Haha
I honestly feel a bit iffy when I see streamers on lobby. I don't know if they're going to play normal or just f around not helping anyone.
As if they were VIP

So I was playing hide and seek Myers a meme build I like to use and made up.
So this build gets rid of tier 3 Myers. So I have to be sneaky and be technical.
So I saw a survivor afk at the crow tree and their friend took the hit. Instead of going after the person I hit, I downed the afk person and placed them on hook for basement pressure. I honestly got the 3 k and the the swf started messing me giving me crap for downing an afk survivor and hooking them.
I simply told them if I was afk that wouldn't stop ya from finishing the gens and escaping. I also told them, that I'm ya's opponent. If I see an opportunity I'm going to take it.
The person who was afk agreed with me which was surprising.
It's not surprising to me that the AFK agreed with you. If you go AFK, you know what could happen.
What I don't understand is why the rest where giving you aggro about it.
You're meant to kill survivors, not befriend them lol.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Right. I gave up trying to farm with survivors years ago. Their idea of farming was hitting me with pallets and then getting pissed if I tried to get a single hook. That scenario was much more common than friendly survivors who understood how to actually farm.
Personally, I don't burn BPS as survivor because I always get tunneled out first, and I don't burn BPS as killer because survivors rush through the gens and avoid me as much as possible. BPS are bad luck.
If I see a streamer as a survivor, I tend to go to the killer and get hooked so they know I mean we'll. Even if I haven't brought it myself.
Doesn't always go well, but it pisses me off when I see 2 gens pop straight away.
Farming for is 99-ing all gens, getting everyone hooked twice, healing and rarely a couple of pallet-stuns each, when I don't see that happening, I offer myself up. Even if that means I don't get as many points.
It's like they bank on the killer being nice just for that and taking advantage of it.

I recently had one of those. He had tinkerer and we were in a closed space in Midwich. I screamed so loud my cat ran out of the room.
Terrifies me, but it's funny as hell

No sé si me explico.
-
No, la gracia de hacer los niveles es obtener la recompensa.
Si llegas al 6p,solo te dan premios hasta el 60.

THATS LITERALLY HOW THEY'RE ACTING!!!!!
I'd noticed that behaviour and honestly thought it was some inside joke I never got.
Every time I see a Bill at a match, they walk everywhere (and they don't have sprint burst).
It could be due to their age?

I'll straight out throw matches, especially if I'm playing killer. There's not a lot of challenges where I have to do it, but I do it.
For survivor I'll just equip perks that'll make it easy. (Stake out for great skill checks, left behind for hatch challenges, etc) I won't actively sabotage teammates but I'll play a lot more selfish where as I'll regularly be turbo bold and not care if I survive or not.
I got things to do.
I'm a main survivor and loved the yellow glyphs so, when I learned of the purple glyphs I couldn't wait.
Did two matches and didn't find it, until I found in this forum that it was only for killers.
I went in with no perks just to look for the bloody glyphs.
I remember a match where 3 where following me around and eventually body-block because I didn't hit them.
I was just looking for my glyph haha

@Idontknowtbh You cannot see blood trail in phase. You used to thanks to father glasses but they removed it.
Sorry, I didn't know that.
Could that be the counter? That they allow you to see blood while in phase?
-
They need to break LOS first for that to work and, when injured, you'd still see the blood trail.
The nerf on stridor was because there was no point running Iron will if stridor was chosen. And now it's the other way around, although I don't see Iron will as often as I used to.
-
This was great, but I had to mute the guy. I kept listening to his story trying to work out what was he laughing about 😂
May he rest in peace
-
Sorry for necroing, but I had to.
Spawned In Glenvale yesterday with a Nemesis.
I hear the TR at the saloon, but no one has been harmed in a long time, as I'm approaching the building, 2 gens pop.
I look from upstairs and I see Nemesis on the bar punching in the air, so I just stare from up there and he says yes. So I come down, he pours be a drink! That ######### killed me. I went, took it and went to the table, Nemesis approaches the piano so I now go behind the bar and pour him a drink. Tried asking for him to pay as well. We were role playing the saloon crap for a while. All gens but one are done and the other 3 survivors have now come to check out what's going on.
I think they tried playing around, but Nemesis just kept on hitting Bill who'd run away and only the girls were allowed to stand on the bar.
I was laughing my head off
I found oout after the game that we are the same platform and I can actually communicate with them!! I messaged saying they didn't pay for their drink. And their replied made everything 10xfunnier than it was: Nemesis was running up and down singing the coyote ugly song.
Best non dbd match I have ever played in DBD.

The only time it really bothers me is if they're doing the sabo hooks and immediately start sabotaging right beside you. Like, they're sabotaging the hook AND you.
I'll admit I do that, but I always bring gloves with me.
I remember I once spawned right next to a Feng and sabotaged one hook right next to her. She started following me around teabagging.
Not sure if she realised when the killer didn't come for us or after end game that I had gloves on lol
-
I don't use them, but I do use the crackers whenever available.
-
I agree, but it personally makes me appreciate a good solo q match.
There are games (very few) where we work so well together with random that I just love it.
-
Hola,
No estoy segura, porque soy de play, pero al final de la partida, cuando tienes la opción de reportar a los otros jugadores, puedes bloquear y creo que no te pueden hablar.
Si no funciona, quédate con los nombres y dodgea lobby cuando las veas.

I still don't get why they announced the new chapter so early. Artist literally just came out and now a new chapter that's not coming out until March has been announced. Really weird.
Probably couldn't stop the info from leaking and they announced it.
-
I have now started using up all my broken keys to see the aura of the killer's obsession when playing solo q
-
It depends.
If I get really bored, I'll start creating silly builds and play with them.
I once went a to z in perks.
Another time, I created builds based on the character's lore or they way I saw them. They would have at least one of the original perks and I'd match the rest with what I found suitable but not gameplay wise, personality.
I have a gift-giving build and I go looking for teammates and presenting them with items. If I find a key, I take it to the entrance of the basement and run up and down making sure all the items I find are there.
Sometimes, the game or matches can get very repetitive, so I play my own game.

Wait what? And if you stop repairing generator or healing survivor, DS should still be available?
Most just run around killer when they have DS ready. And if Killer don't take the bait, they are upset.
No, no. Whatever it is that you do that is not running or hiding for the killer deactivates it. So it is used for tunneling situations. You can go in a locker or run, that's about it.
Which is how it should be, in my opinion.
-
@RoaderFrost said:
Boons are foul sorcery and witchcraft.
DS works to prevent you from being tunneled after unhooking. If you have time to find and bless totem (and that's foul act of heresy against the Entity) it means you aren't being tunneled.
They had removed DS if you stopped to break a totem, so is it not the same if you're blessing it?
It might be a glitch, but they should hopefully fix it soon.

As a Freddy when i wanted a relaxed game for once (before sbmm) got a bully 4 man swf.
Didn't bother when 3 gens were done within a few minutes and went afk in the basement.
Came back 10 minutes later and 2 were t bagging behind me, hit 1 and they ran of.
Another 10 minutes later (nope not joking) and now 3 were t bagging.
So i guessed they weren't in any hurry to get out as they still hadn't done the last gen.
So went beserk on them, didn't even bother to put my headphones on.
Downed all 4 of them and just let them bleed out on the floor.
They did the last gen when i went downing them, but that was to late.
Now they could wait 4 minutes on the floor to get out of the match 😂
Serves them right!
I once had a Plague AFK all match, the other three 99'd all gens, but I had my Christmas Santa build: basically ace in the hole, Elodie's perk to get more things out of a box and all I did all game was putting the presents at the feet of Plague.
She came back at some point and these three were teabagging her, I was just coming with the last gift and she came after me 😭

It is interesting to see your growth as a player in this game...I used to crutch hard with using deja vu and dark sense as a survivor at first and now see those perks as trash 🤣.
Absolutely! I used to run self-care, botanic knowledge and hide constantly! I was so scared of TR that I walked everywhere. I still don't know how to loop, but I do last more than 10 seconds in a chase haha
-
I haven't noticed that, but I did notice that some gens don't have the sound when completed

-
Iron will. Grunt pains are annoying to listen to. I sometimes run calmed spirit on characters I don't like to hear screaming.
-
I sometimes wonder this myself.
I don't know anymore.
I mean, it's the first game I have ever invested time in, watching videos, trying to learn and improve.
I still get absolutely rinsed if the killer finds me out in the open and I don't know how to chain tiles, so I still have a lot to learn. I think that's what keeps me going.
-

I've seen a pig chasing people with 0 TR.
Myers getting to tier 3 super fast with tombstone on one side of the map and all 4 survs on the other. It was autohaven and I saw him coming out of the shack full power on when we were doing a gen at the other end.
I popped into a locker to heal (I had Nancy's perks plus Iron Will) so I knew my scratch marks weren't visible and the killer couldn't hear. 3 second later I hear the TR and the killer is chasing someone. Stops in my locker and gets me. Gobsmacking.
I've seen many others that run straight into lockers the other side of the map that don't make sense at all.
And one that moved so fast he was like teleporting.
Also, randomly, one day. I was in mcmillan's main building, someone got hooked, I went to unhook them and, as soon as I start, I appeared back on the main building after a half a second blackout. I was so confused.
I was playing with a friend that was near the hooked person and saw me dissappear as well and recorded it.
I hit record, but guess what? It was nowhere to be found on the gallery...
Sorry, completely off topic, but it just reminded me and I had to share.

Mmm, okay. I don't understand why they would include the map in any DLC content if it is free then lmao. I know before any DLC I bought my map offerings never worked, so I was under the impression (especially by friends) that I couldn't access it MYSELF with my friends/family if none of us had the map DLC.
I don't have any of the DLC's and I've played in all maps. Maps offerings work too, so I'm not sure why it didn't work for you.
It's an online game that matches you up with anybody, so it would be very restrictive if it played out like you say.
