I'd rather have Camaraderie be buffed to work on both hook stages and tell other players the one on the hook has it. By default, I think camping can be part of the game, specially if a survivor wants to loop around the hook or in a 3 gen situation.

Besides, using the heartbeat is not really a fix. If it was gonna be this way, it would be better be according to distance. But then again, you could just loop the killer at the hook with little pressure being pushed to the survivor team, so I don't really agree with it.

Survivors have crows for inaction so there has to be a way they can merge that with camping killers. If they are inactive (shorter time than survs get crows please) , the hook timer stops but if a survivor tries to take advantage of that situation and starts looping the killer around the hooked survivor, because the killer would be in a chase and active, the hook would resume.

That would stop either part taking advantage of that situation, I hope. I mean, cheaters will always find a way to cheat but I think this would stop both from being idiots.

Problem is stealth at its core is very inconsistent and not very fun to me

I get that, it's not the most fun but I think of it as one in how many games and try to at least do a couple of gens before exposing myself and trying to distract the killer so the others can do something.

While in chase, I try to run towards her when she's transporting as she goes through you and can get a little lost. It does piss them off so be ready.

We all know you can't play the same way with every killer and expect the same outcome.

When I play against a spirit (having urban evasion helps me) I go around the map at the beginning touching every gen so it's harder for spirit to track which one anyone is working on and then try to hide whenever I hear her approaching.

I hope it helps you too.

    @Phasmamain

  • Yes! And it's so frustrating!

And I had a couple where it was the killer that disconnected on the loading screen and I saw 5000 bp for survival (obviously getting a - 1) and the rest of survivors 0. It's either all 0 or all 5000, right?

Because this topic has already been covered ad nauseum on these forums and I've explained it on here literally dozens of times over the years.

    To summarize lots of explanation:

You counter most killers by reacting to what they do. IE you are being re-active.

    However.

Against Spirit you do the exact opposite. You have to be pro-active, not re-active. You have to force her to react to you, not you reacting to her.

IE if you are looking for feedback from Spirit to react to you are already playing against her incorrectly.

You need to understand what she is seeing and hearing, and then manipulate that to mislead her into guessing incorrectly.

I think my way of playing against her is an example of what you just said (I just posted it on another comment and don't know how to tag you in it.

I want spirit to be fair because the idea of a killer focused on interesting predictions is very cool but she’s just too strong right now

We all know you can't play the same way with every killer and expect the same outcome.

Survivors will probably disagree for obvious reasons but I think the red stain needs to be removed. It should be more of a guessing game when mindgaming certain tiles. I shouldn't have to walk backwards so the survivor doesn't know which direction I'm looking. I just don't understand why it's a thing. I know people will say get good, learn to moonwalk, etc... I know how to do it. It's just dumb imo. Good killers hide their stain so it wouldnt really change much as far as high level players go. I don't wanna fight over it, but kinda curious how other people feel. Feel free to disagree but don't be toxic to each other.

You're right, I'm a survivor and I don't agree with that. Not because it makes it easier. I am actually crap at chases and always, always lose the mind games killers play. The typical: I think I know you're trying to trick me so I'll do this instead but they one up me and I've been hit.

It's part of the game and I find it more challenging than not seeing the red stain.

It's actually a good idea. Instead of flashlights being continuous, one charge and flashlight will run for like 2-5 seconds. Cancelling will still remove the charge.

    Exactly! Something like that.

I'm used to not explaining myself properly so thanks for making sense of them lol

  • @Zeus said:

I really wish the devs look into it. Players aren't really going to stop clicking so the devs will have to do something about it. Not because some people think it's BM but just because of the health issues it causes to epileptic players.

There could be a way, you know?

What if clicks didn't do anything and every flashlight had certain number of charges, like a 2 second flash once you click it. If you misuse it, your fault but no more clicking like that.

Ok, but if we nerf every killer that survivors play stupid against from time to time we'll have nobody left.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I agree with you.

I'll admit he is a killer I do not look forward to matching up against but I wouldn't nerf Mike Myers, it'd be boring haha.

The little screams everytime I see him, too fun!

So, I get into a game, start a chase, hit a few people, same as always. One injured survivor leads me into an AFK survivor. I down the AFK survivor, & start feeling bad because it’s a 3v1. I pick up the injured survivor, and start chasing with the injured survivor on my back. Instead of doing gens, the survivors remaining keep trying to blind me. So I hook the AFK dude, and pursue just casual no sweaty chases. I let the survivors finish the gens, but I have the new tome quest to get a kill during Endgame collapse (so I’ve brought NOED) I down a guy, hook him, and instead of just waiting it out (to get the quest complete) I run around looking for some more chases. Survivors come unhook their partner, open the gates, and Tbag considerably... I mean come on man, most killers (despite being KILLERS) are pretty cool people, why be jerk offs? Something to think about...

    I'm sorry. I'm a survivor and I don't tea-bag, even when I get toxic killers. I don't think it's nice when people do it.

But most killers aren't nice, I'd say 50/50 for what I found.

  • @AsherFrost said:

The thing is, with that build it takes tons of stalking before you can actually hit t3. I don't believe it is OP because it has a very simple counter for survivors.

    Look around.

Ghost face peeks, but michael just stands there like a 7ft tall lump. When you see him, run away and break los.

Yeah, but it's a team thing. Everyone has to do it to avoid Evil within tier 3, and there is always someone that realises too late (that includes me sometimes lol).

I had a game a couple of days ago where I was the first one to find out he had Judith's tombstone. He did not gain tier from me because I saw him early game and went to the other side and kept an eye. He had something else that reduced the amount of stalking required because it didn't take that long. I think 1 gen had been done when he moried me and nothing else got done after that. Everyone packed and started crouching everywhere until they died.

  • I had a he playing solo with what I think were SWF and the killer was tunneling me hard so they all proceeded to tank and avoid me getting hooked. It was very nice as I felt helpless against a leather face.

A couple of days later where I was SWF with two friends and a hillbilly decided to tunnel a Dwight playing solo. He was really good too, we had time to do three gens by the time he got first downed but the killer camped him as well and we felt bad that he wasn't going to get any points so we all three went to save him, tanked a couple of hits and got him to safety so he could farm some points. We were trying to communicate with the killer too trying to hook us so he could also get points but he must have been pissed and was having none of it and just downed two of us. We recovered and finished the gens and all four escaped.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

I've definitely noticed an increase in toxicity on the survivor side, if it be something as small as tbagging after the killer had a bad game or body blocking teammates/teaming with the killer. However there have been many nicer players too, although this could be because there's now a clearer distinction between throwing players and nice players just not on their A game.

I've been 5-bagged by fellow survivors while on hook!

I was doing a gen at cold wind, minding my own business, a survivor runs to the gen, makes it explode and I went away to hide, the killer comes, this idiot who knows where I am, starts running with the killer behind to take them to me, I get downed, hooked and this evil player comes to t-bag me instead of unhooking me.

  • Absolutely!

I had one game where a Dwight started running in and out of one locker next to another survivor doing a gen. The killer went to them and the other surv hid in a locker. Dwight pointed at the locker to tell the killer where the other one was hiding and got downed and bled to death while crawling around following the rest of us to tell the killer in which fire tion we were.

    - Killers DC'ing if they saw red envelopes and all survs getting - 1

    - Survivors running around doing nothing and just vaulting around others with gens to alert the killer

-Being left to die on first hook because no one came to unhook

    - Another one where three survivors where just crouching in the school patio between 2 pallets and stayed there the entire game.

    And so many more.

I was talking to friends yesterday saying I think some killers are taking advantage of the current situation and being nasty as hell. I mean, why play if you don't get any more than 10,000 blood points and the match lasts 3 minutes? Unless you just play to screw people up...

I did a build explicitly for this type of killer and still get ratted by another survivor, that's just not on.

I found two I believe were SWF in another game, both with keys that did nothing and waited for the other two to get 2 gens done so they could look for the hatch. One got hooked and taken to the basement, DC'd on first hook so they other one ran towards the killer to get sacrificed too.

  • Ah, okay! I read it wrong, then.

    Thank you!

Joined a match, loading screen, someone disconnected while loading, back to lobby, de-pip. Does anyone know how this bug works? For example after I play my next match will it adjust itself back to where it should be following that match? Example I should be rank 5 flat out with no pips. So If I pip next match will I be level 5 + 1pip or if I de-pip level 6 - 1pip where I am now due to d/c or stay where I am if I safety pip yadayadayada or will this pip just be totally lost?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/QT8LASP90VO9/20210216-114344.jpg

I had the exact same thing happening to me yesterday and I lost a pip top. Also, many matches recently I have earned a pip less than it says on the screen. Also absolute 0 on survival when I was the last one standing with no hooks and so on...

I reported it a few days ago and still awaiting response.

    Run this Broken af build.

    Anti-Tunnel: New DS
    Anti-Camp: Deliverance
    Anti-Slug: Unbreakable
4th perk slot: Recommend Dead hard or Soul guard. Or any actually.

    I've tried the following:

    Iron will

    Self care

    Lucky break

    Urban evasion

I think urban evasion is under-rated (unless against a doctor lol). But these have helped me last longer in matches with tunnelers and in general if you play solo and the team doesn't

    What are your thoughts?

  • I've noticed that now, if you are the last survivor and you get hooked for the first time, you don't get the three attempts to escape which I think it's unfair if you made it that far without getting hooked. Or is it a bug?

  • I found a lot of toxic players on the first 2 days since the update and threw me off massively. That plus the score system that was bugged or something and either didn't add the points on some matches. I don't know how but I went down 2 levels over 6 matches which is physically impossible even getting - 1 on each game.

  • I recently had a game against a piramid head where one player DC'd as soon as they saw him. The other one must have been a team mate and ran toward PH and begged to be hooked so they could die on hook.

Me and a Claudette were watching this like: with are we going to do now, 5 gens to do still...

So we started working on one and grabbed Claudette straight from the gen, she didn't even run. I thought I was done for but he hooked her and she didn't commit suicide. PH left so I could save her, get her back up and he helped us farm a bit. I think he felt sorry because of the other 2 bumholes leaving us there.

We did plenty of points and we both opened the gates and offered ourselves as sacrifice as a thank you.

    It was a nice moment

One time i was playing spirit on the swamp map and the match wasnt going too well for me but shortly later i noticed something strange from the dwight on there team, they was playing like a completely new player running in a straight line no loops or 360’s and I normally ended the chase with them under 10 seconds so i felt bad for them since I already hooked him 2 times so i dropped him to let him stay in the match longer and every time i saw him i would hit him atleast once and go after someone else I didn’t let him escape but i let him stay in until i killed like 3 people and when i did chase him I actually pretended like i was gonna hit him just so he would throw a pallet on me to give him points

but yea I straight up gave that guy a mega handicap the whole game cus i felt sorry for him and when I finally killed him i tried stalling the chase as much as i could to give him a decent amount of points

I had to play as nurse once and chase survivors for 180 seconds. I'm bad at killer so I thought it was going to take me ages to do but there was this Meg running the way your Dwight was and managed to do the 180 seconds with her. Bless her, she had sprint but probably didn't manage to recharge since she never stopped running.

  • @vacaman said:

I once had a survivor that didn't teabag me at the exit gates, but then maybe his Ctrl key was probably broken. Still pretty wholesome.

I still don't get why survivors teabag at the gates, it's just mean school kid behaviour. I play survivor mainly and I only did it once: against a red rank that was tunneling me and that I managed to escape being level 16.

(I've also never been able to do a match like that again lol)

But never just for taking the mic out of the killer.

Sorry you get matched up with disrespectful players.

That time the survivors said gg

Sorry, I only found out recently that what I thought to be my only way of communicating (the thumbs up at the end) is useless.

Ppl actually take it as "killer camping"??? Where I play it means "hey pls unhook me now". Usually it's something along the lines of "hey no one is coming, can one of you pls stop doing gens and come to unhook me pls". If someone starts moving in the hook's direction, I stop waving to signal that someone's coming. At least that's how I think it works in Brazilian servers??? Bc I've seen lots of other ppl do the same thing.

I thought I did it as "please come save me" but you just made me realise I do what you do lol. Thanks for helping me understand myself

  • I had a couple of games yesterday where Dwight used his ability to see auras to run towards other survivors while in chase. First game, he actually survived (the only one btw).

The second time, the killer realised what he was doing and tunneled him. Not a fan of tunneling but he needed to go lol

  • I'm new to the game and not very good at it. I've had a friend trying to teach me to loop but I am useless.

Last week I had a ghost face that approached me crouching so I did the same and they didn't kill me. I had to drop 10 pallets so I pointed at one and he went there and let me stun him. He then went around looking for pallets so I could do all. Offered to sacrifice but wouldn't let me. Very nice of him.

Couple of matches go by and we're playing against a legion that has killed 2 of us with 4 gens left, we're pretty much f'd but we keep trying. Suddenly, he finds me and I accept my end and clamly come away from the gen. He hits me, damages it and signals me to keep working. I fix it a little and come away again so he can break it. The other player notices what's going on and starts doing the same. Legion hits him too. I try to cure myself and he downs me and picks me up for me to wiggle. Basically, he just wanted us to break gens but we were scared because he had killed the other two so fast. Took us around the nap showing us gens and then let us go. I couldn't believe it. I'd read about nice killers but never encountered one and had 2 in a game session.

The day after I had to hook 2 survivors as the nurse and I've never ever played as a killer and didn't find nobody. One Claudette noticed I was a ######### killer and was nice enough to let me hook her and get my first sacrifice.

Another few games go by and I still haven't hooked my second so I did what I hate from killers when I caught one, I camped that Bill. Meg came to save him so I downed her, let Bill go and I hooked her instead. Bill was nearby asking me to come after him so the other two could save Meg. I'm sorry, I didn't. Bill came anyway and I downed him too. Once she died, I picked him up, let him wiggle out and I went looking for the other two to see if they noticed I was done and meant no harm. I let them do gens, one asked me to follow them so they could stun me with pallets and I did. I tried to make up for being mean.

Up until then, I've had normal to bad experiences but seeing the human behind the characters keeps me going. I hope to get better soon.
