  • Oh, I've seen it in a few maps.

I thought it wasn't meant to be for 3-4 people anymore.

There was one game where it was a 2 peeps gen and we were both there and this Ace kept pointing at the gen like: hurry up, what are you doing? Do the gen!! And I was trying to signal that it didn't work. It was a hilarious interaction.

  • @Snailcastle said:

the range of this perk is absolutely insane!

i dont mind about the duration but i dont understand why the range has to be so huge.

I also understand that they wanted to get rid of survivors blocking the killer while trying to hook a survivor but then decrease the range to about 5-10 meters.

Getting the exposed status 20-30m away from the killer doesnt make any sense

The killer doesn't even get a notification that you are now vulnerable, just hide out of killer's view instead of going head on for the save with BT and do a safe save.

  • I'm not getting many tbh, but I also do the dailies and try to get the crown for different characters and not all my characters have cakes.

I do hoard the event items (medkit, toolboxes, etc).

  • @Shaped said:

Just ditch the hatch or change it completely.

I wouldn't mind ditching hatch BUT, if the killer couldn't see the door aura and has to find it instead, and the same for survivors.

    I think that'd be fun

I wonder if anyone has gotten the new map since it been reenabled for public matches? lol i have played 10+ games and no new map:(

Yes, once today and, as much as I love the map, playing in it is hard. I think I've played in it three times in total and it's a maze.

  • Are the cakes out yet?

    I haven't found them 😭

The fact the recently Every survivor I've been matched with even though I save them multiple times has left me on my first hook at the end of a match. Killer isn't camping or anything and they just dart out of the gate. So If I am in your game and we are survivor together don't get hooked because I am leaving you up there. As I cannot take the chance of risking a hook state for someone who is just going to leave me up there.

I feel you. I do the same and get done for it. Other times, it looks like they are not coming (NOED) and they do.

  • @FrndlyChnswSalzmn said:

Seriously, every second or third game I have at least one person with a key. Sometimes multiple. They know there is nothing a Killer can do about keys now and they are abusing that fact. Something seriously needs to be done about this lickety-split.

There is a tome challenge where you need to escape with an ultra rare object and I ly keys and maps have those, so it might be just that.

  • I don't think I have a win condition.

I used to play to level up so a pip was a win and depip was a loss.

Now, I don't care. I play for fun, to do challenges and try stupid builds.

Yesterday, me and a friend both had the challenge where you need to bring the killer to a generator using one of Zarina's perks.

It was a huntress on midwich with Iron Maiden.

We both worked on the same gen so we would have more chances of calling her over and it was just hilarious, we ran head on just in case and we were laughing our heads off the entire match.

I felt bad for the other two survivors but I think they understood what we were doing and cracked on.

We died, got really low BP but we had fun after a few very sweaty matches.

  • @SadLegion said:

Just watched this masterpiece of a match and remembered about this topic. I never had matches like this myself, they must be pretty rare

    https://www.twitch.tv/theentitylefthand/clip/IgnorantChillyClipzKappaPride-Dycp4QAQKCG5NHkJ

I had one when we had to find chompsky in The Game where I found 3 survivors warming their hands on the first floor, so I joined them still very confused. The killer joined shortly after and we invited him to warm up by the fire as well and we farmed.

Also, recently, I encountered a ghostface in auto haven and he got me first. I saw Ash running towards me like: nooo, let her go! And, for some reason, ghostface actually listened. We all got hooked twice and then followed him crouching for a bit, did all gens and he called us for a couple of pallets stuns. A Nancy and I offered to sacrifice but ghostface was adamant to let us all go. Couldn't thank because they were from a different platform but it was very random and funny.

  • I would use the one to waive my arms up while running all the time. That's how I think I would run in real life if a killer was chasing me and I wanted someone to help me

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

    Yeah they're the same

1.Both are completing the objective as fast as possible. While ignoring other things.

2.Both are legitimate and fair strategies. With enough in game and perk counters.

    Honest opinion

What I find unfun is that the survivor tunneled is usually not the one gen rushing. If you don't catch the rusher, they'll let that survivor die on hook so they finish all the gens.

That's why I usually start running around if 2 gens are done and the killer hasn't even hit a survivor.

In most cases, it doesn't end up well for me because the killer sees the third gen pop by the time I get hooked (not because I last that long in a chase, the rushers kept going while I was looking for the killer). And they leave me there to rush another gen before I get to second phase.

One gen left, the killer comes back to the hook as no one else is on view and one survivor comes to unhook me on second phase, the killer hits them and they run away, doors activate and out.

If they managed to unhook, I would go down because I am the only viable kill.

    This has happened several times.

When I play with my friends it's pretty similar but it's an advantage that solo don't have. You can go from casual fun to coordinating when needed. You don't even need to be bringing sweaty perks or even bring add ons for it to help. Just knowing "I'll get X off the hook" is instant info that solo doesn't get unless using a perk and even then it's communicated in an inferior way.

Fair, we get caught up and end up finding ourselves at the hooked person sometimes. We are just friends playing together, coms are an advantage, absolutely, but not everyone uses them.

I casually play with another person that I met on a match, he was the killer, we don't speak the same language so we don't even have coms. We just share the same lobby and send messages after the match about how it went.

And one of my friends has very bad headphones and we don't hear him half the time. I think we play how we play so our friend doesn't feel like left in the dark, maybe. Or because it's a game and we only want to have fun and talk to each other.

That is fair. However, IMO, it’s far too weak to justify having it beyond the beginner level. While it helps with its stealth capabilities, there are far more viable and/or reliable alternatives. Such as lockers, off the record, and even sole survivor (despite it still being a terrible perk in general).

Distortion needs something to make it more appealing to run besides other perks and there are so few perks that are dedicated to simply aura suppression.

It depends. I see it as a heads up perk, you know how to counter it or be aware when you lose the first token and I think it's alright the way it is.

Yes, I would love more tokens but that would just be unfair, so 3 is OK.

I started using it again recently after rancor was being used more and I find it really useful except for a wraith with the aura seeing addon while cloaked in midwich, 3 tokens went out in 10 seconds.

  • I think the rework has to be against sweat squads not SWF.

All sweat squads are SWF, but not all SWF are sweat squads.

I play with friends, we try builds for memes, for specific challenges, yes we are on coms but not like you described, nowhere near.

We talk about other games, previous matches, we bet who the killer is going to be and who they're going to get first, we talk about TV and movies, life.

What you described, apart from defining a sweat squad and not SWF, sounds very boring. Do they get to actually enjoy the game? I putty their souls.

  • There is no speed boost and it activates if the killer goes back to down once they've been unhooked which is not the survivor that's running DS's fault.

Imagine the frustration of going down, to get unhooked by someone without BT that doesn't take a hit for you when the killer comes back and you want to nullify that?

But yeah, it's probably the survivor's fault for going down in the first place, how dare they?

  • @CoalTower said:

God damn it this is so annoying

I can't play a match with the stupid charm without everyone trying to farm with me. Like, farming is the most boring thing you could possibly do in this game. I just want to have a normal match for Christs sake!

I've had to stop wearing it, and dodge lobbies when people have it just to have fun games.

For the people who are doing this, I get that you're trying to be supportive, but no one is wearing this to farm. No one is wearing this as a free escape card. Just play normally!

Sorry about the angry post but this is frustrating.

I've not seen one or played any of those matches. You must be getting into all. I've not farmed with a killer in ages, well before the DLC came out

Yeah, I'd like that. Although, Fixated could make shack real nasty. It's fine though, since that isn't OP.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone running it of they're not doing Nancy's adept or also run sprint burst.

The thing is, you would never know what's going to be so what are the chances of you running fixated and finding that totem and cleansing it and being that prize?

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2293264#Comment_2293264

Walking 5% faster is fine, but running is OP.

5% is a lot of speed in this game. We can see this by the difference between 4.4 and 4.6 killers. It would make it almost impossible to catch a good survivor, and impossible if you're a 4.4 killer.

I know, I know. It was just an example and I made very clear I said walking and not running. Running would be having a 5th perk all game, not fair. But walking? Who cares, you know?

But that was my point, small little things that are enough to keep survivors entertained but not make things harder for the killer.

  • @Wiggles_Diggles said:

In 10 games I have had at least 2 survivors DC during the game. 5 games I was playing survivor and the other 5 was killer.

This is getting out of hand.

    Been there, seen that.

First game, huntress, one DC's straight.

Second game, trickster, one David goes down and DC's, his double at the other end of the map leaves too.

Freddy and a Feng min I unhooked, he comes back for her, she DC's. Feng ming across the map DC's too.

And I'm there taking mental notes of all the names to see if I'm encountering the same culprits over and over, but no, they're all fresh new DC'ers.

  • Wow, my answer was so long it actually Dc'd from server and lost it all. I think this forum saved you from reading a novel.

I think, if they had the chance to break it, survivors wouldn't even see them.

I was thinking "camping" totems, or running inmortal to see whoever is looking for them.

Also, in my head, I have really silly advantages like: 3% regression if you fail a skill check instead of 4 or walking (not running, walking) 5% faster.

Something small enough so it doesn't give advantage over killers but that people would seek out because of the kinder surprise touch to it because you don't know what it is until you get it.

Imagine if it slowly got closer to morning as the EGC ticked by. At the end, the sun would peek over the horizon, and a sweeping shockwave of destruction would suddenly burn the map away, instantly sacrificing the remaining survivors.

    Wouldn't that be great?

  • @HawkAyeTheNoo said:

SWF - Nothing can be done with swfs, you have to allow people to play with there friends or they'll go elsewhere to play. Not all swfs are bully squads, its just people playing having fun, sometimes winning sometimes dying but having fun.

Key - Keys are BS, absolute BS. As survivor i dodge teammates bringing in keys and as killer i facecamp, tunnel, slug, whatever, you aint getting out. F you and F your key.

Solo - I love it, every games different. Sometimes you get good teammates, sometimes bad. Sometimes you face good killers, sometimes its a baby killer. You just dont know what you're getting. Only things i'd change is to make Kindred base for survivors and make Noed base for killers. Take keys out the bloodweb and they only spawn very rarely in chests.

But keys now only work when all gens have been done if 4 survivors are still alive, no? Anyway, not defending them. I only brought one in for a challenge once and didn't even do it, still haven't. F bringing a key into a match.

Solo for me lately is either I have bad teammates or I am the bad teammate.

I had exceptional matches where we "communicated with each other perfectly without coms" and those were super fun, now I go do my challenges and try to help the team, but it feels more like a task.

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/259557/my-boon-totem-theory

Yeah no. With how they hide totems, that wouldn't be fair at all.

What if the killer knew where they were just as they know where hex totems are located? Would that make it fairer?

  • I came in here thinking the question was "Why dead by daylight?" as in, shouldn't maps start at night and progress towards daylight as gens are done and I was a bit hysterical because I literally had a dream about it last night.

Yours is a very valid question, I just had other expectations :D

Anyway, I wish I knew. For me it happens when I have been playing for a while and starts saying Internet issues, or sends me back to the main menu. I don't know.

  • @LordChaos01 said:

please add option to use some visual warning before skill checks I just dont play as survivor often because I just like to play listening to music on the background and its impossible do any gen its like to go agaist a huntress lullaby with 5 tokens

I think that's the point of that perk, you only have the skill check. Whether you're listening to music or not, with 5 tokens, you're not going to hear anything.

  • So, if someone doesn't agree with you, it has to be they are not experienced in the game?

But you are the one sounding like a newbie by saying tunnelling is the only way.

Nemesis is bugged and gets Objective points, allowing him to go past 32k. This may be part of what you're seeing.

    Oh, was that why?!

It was in all matches these last few days I hadn't realised

  • @Kira4Evr said:

I have been thinking about this recently, and I haven't seen anyone talk about this. As we all know, the max amount of BloodPoints in one category is 8000. What if they removed that cap? I don't really know why there is a BP cap, and I don't see any problems with removing it?

I like it but with undying BBQ and lethal pursuer all being viable options tokens go away extremely quickly.

But it's meant to give you a heads up, not hide you away constantly.

Only for lethal pursuer, but BBQ, the moment you know, go in a locker or within range, and you have one more to see if they run nurse's.

I think I'm going to start running it again, I've been the obsession 3 times in the last 2 days when the killer was running rancor (and I don't run any perks that could make me more likely to be the obsession).

That's the thing. It only makes sense for prestige because you're going to lose whatever you get. If you're keeping it, I would say it doubles for decent buys.

Idk when someone in my chat called RedPanda667 shows up for one match and leaves and the killer I just faced was called RedPanda667 and knew exactly where I was I think that's proof enough

DISCLAIMER: I do not know anyone called RedPanda667 and I have never faced someone called RedPanda667

They don't necessarily have to have the same names on, I know I don't.

Not on purpose or to try anything naughty, but it just happened like that.

  • Absolute favourite: Uncharted 4.

I also enjoyed Tomb raider quite a lot and Kingdom Hearts is love.

And recently, "it takes two" was super fun to play.

    P. S. I don't really play other horror games.

So there I am trying to rank up and 'git gud' when I was rudely Interrupted by the camp god himself. Bubba mains clearly have deep seeded issues and must display there unbridled rage upon thine survivors at all times. I know we have all have faced the occasional camp or tunnel, but it happens a little too often. The classic perks to "prevent" these issues doesn't necessarily Help when all the survivors Desperately avoid the insta killing 4k machine that is Bubba. But don't you worry cause I have found a solution. A solution to face camping, a solution to proxy camping. Therefore a solution to Bubba. When a survivor is on a hook and the killer is within a certain radius the hook progression stops completely. Forcing the killer to move elsewhere and actually play the game.

Thankyou for coming to my Ted talk

The only thing to do when that happens is to get gens done and get out ASAP. You can do 3 gens if the survivor doesn't suicide on hook. Max 2 kills.

I encountered one recently and the survivor he caught had family, so we could all see he was camping in the basement with insidious. We got three gens done by the time stage 2 was nearly over. The mistake was that the other two tried going for a team save, which is impossible with Bubba.

  • I've given up in chases. I just stop running, but I don't suicide or DC.

Last night, I got to the second stage in hook because they didn't come to rescue, no gens were done in that time either, the killer was chasing someone, they finally come to get me and the killer turns around and comes to the hook, so I start running, the other 2 survs don't even try to help (1 had one hook and the other 0, the injured one self healing on the other side of the map unaware of what was going on) and piggy wants her kill, so I give up mid chase and accept my fate so I can move onto another game sooner rather than later.
