    Is this...a Legion nerf?

    Let's go!

Not really, first you have to use the addon and second you need to face someone with Vigil and they have to actually cluster around the guy with the perk to be something that may be really noticeable, worst case scenario is a minor hindrance.

The buff to the perk while a buff is not enough to guarantee seeing Vigil on a common basis, maybe you see it twice as much after the buff so 1 per week to 2 per week.

  • Saw once a video on Reddit where Leatherface downed all 4 Survivors in Haddonfield in roughly 20 seconds just at the start, so we must take said video as prime example of balancing and nerf Leatherface accodingly and also buff Haddonfield since the map showed inmense Killer bias in that one video, right?.

And that's the key point: "how they (the devs) wanted them to work."

People in the community came up with the also easy fix for hatch spawn requirements set to either "all gens done" or "only one survivor left" in the first week after the mori changes 9 months ago.

And with the change above it would even still be the same possibility to obtain the achievement for 4 escapes via hatch since that already can only be done with active gates. But 2/3 men escapes at 1/2 gens left to be done (when killer start to be in control) would be gone.

And maybe they tried and didnt like how it went, Im not discussing whats the best solution to keys or how they should work but the person I quoted was lying about the developers going to tweak both mechanics at the same time when they always said keys were much harder for them to look at and they didnt have a fix as easier to implement as moris so I clarified it.

  • @PlaysByShady said:

Same thing that happened to the key nerf that was supposed to coincide with the mori nerf

Except they actually said the oposite, they said nerfing moris was easy enough to think of to make the change relatively fast and keys on the other hand needed time to figure and test exactly what and how they wanted them to work.

  • Wraith is most definetely getting nerfed (and very well deserved).

Hag, Oni and Blight are probably getting nerfed.

Shape is probably losing instakill potential (probably tombstone piece) and probably getting a change on his Tier1 related addons.

Hillbilly and Jigsaw are probably getting buffed.

Nurse and Ghost Face are probably getting changed, not buffs nor nerfs but just changes to the less used addons (since they dont really have super strong addons).

  • Im heterosexual so maybe Im wrong or my opinion is a bit weird but I would find it patronizing and condescending for players to give me a free escape or trying to farm just because of the pride charm, I mean I play games to have fun and a challenge not to be treated different even if they have good intentions.

  • After the UI "revamp" that gave me eye strain, the chat filter that filters "Myers" "Real" and "Name" as toxic words and the first MMR iteration that put people with 4000 hours against people with 50 minutes I think everyone should be concerned about an Autoban system.

  • To be fair almost all maps have cardinal points thanks to the shape of the map and the position of the shack and landmark building, since they are almost always fixed spawn locations.

  • @bowo said:

Here's two ideas for how they might work.

You activate your "Boon" perk by pressing the "Activate Ability" button while interacting with a dull totem.

    OR

Running a Boon perk spawns a Boon totem. Cleansing the totem activates the perk.

Personally, I'm leaning towards the 2nd guess. Either way, they sound very interesting and I'm excited to hear more.

I had a third idea, the boon Totems spawn on a fixed number (for example 2 per trial with offerings or perks increasing their number) and they grant whoever cleanses them some kind of benefit, for example healing a state or inmunity to Killer applied debuffs for a fixed amount of time (inmunity to Mangled, Hemorrhage etc) or they interact with Killer powers for example cleansing Plague's infection without using a pool or the easiest thing that comes to mind a BP multiplier or a huge BP boost.

  • Sure, PH was also awful and felt weak at the PTB then he had to be changed 2 times in the span of 3 months because he was actually super broken.

  • Small Game has been out of bussiness since Detective's Hunch got in the game.

The current system is pretty lousy though and you never see the results of your repot. BHVR seems to be saying that since the current system is inadequate and they are working to improve things to where people will see the actions of their reports, and the actions will come faster.

How is this not a good thing? Some people seem more worried about getting auto-banned for "no reason" rather than pointing out the positives that this system can bring. Detecting abuse of a reporting system is already something that is used by similar reporting systems and would help to ensure that people aren't just banned for no reason if they are following the EULA.

My main concer is when Riot tried a self policing comunity people just banned each other without giving any tought at all, you got reported the comunity judged you looking at the chat, on paper super cool, on practice the judges just banned people because it was faster and called it a day. The system was so bad and corrupted they got rid of it.

Seeing how petty and childish this comunity is, people will report others just because they got salty for the stupidest reasons, you cleansed Ruin at the start? all 4 reported, you used NOED? reported, A Killer I dont like? reported, a team with 3 Dead Hards? guess what, all reported (the 4º one because its free and I bet they were a pesky SWF anyways), .ttv? R-E-P-O-R-T-E-D.

You cant let the insane run the asylum.

  • @Dbdswitchisok said:

This is just speculation on my end, but I have a feeling it'll be like hexes. So the effect persists until a killer kicks the totem. but from all the info we heard it seems odd.

I doubt it, Killers complain a lot about lacking time to patrol and chase everyone, I dont think theyll put Hexes for Survivors so Killers have to check for even more stuff. I suppose they are Totems that give some kind of benefit when cleansed, giving a secondary objective for Survivors.

It will be abused. Streamers will be a huge target for report abuse. As will most killer players due to someone not liking the fact they got killed. Auto Bans have never worked in any competitive game as its a very easy to abuse system. That is more of the concern I have than anything else.

Yeah streamers are gonna get banned for sure, not only a lot of people love to mess with them but they also play a lot of games which means a lot of oportunities for reports.

On the other hand, BHVR does care a lof about streamers since they are their main source of marketing so the fact they are going to be prime targets for autoban makes me hope they system wont be implemented.

  • @Hex_Llama said:

LMAO. I guess we have to wait and see how it actually works, but imagine going on stream and being like, "Good news, everyone, soon you'll get banned automatically!"

If it works as good as the filter and the first MMR iteration I guarantee 50% of the playerbase is going to be banned in less than an hour, Im even willing to bet some people will patch the game, boot it up for the first time after the system goes online and they are going to be banned already.

  • @Pulsar said:

    I am gonna be banned.

Not even joking, if this goes through I will be banned.

Everyone who plays at least 10 matches per day is gonna get banned with this system, its a matter of time not a matter of why.

  • An autoban system will totally destroy the game, people is going to get banned very fast for the pettiest reasons you can imagine. A gaming comunity policing itself has already been tried by Riot in LoL with the tribunal system (or wathever they called it) and it was a massive disaster.

Also, seeing how well the toxicity filter works, where "Myers", "Real" and "Name" are filtered words I can imagine the autoban system will be at least as good and polished.

  • I dont like the idea of the zombies in the sligthest, the last time BHVR tried something radically different we got Twins and we all know how well received and how enjoyable Twins are to play as and against...

  • @NightmareKiller said:

    In low ranks, yes.

Bill = Borrowed time + Unbreakable

Two of the strongest perks in the game. Getting rid of someone with Unbreakable that can completly turn the game around if you manage to down all 4, or someone who can give 12 seconds of invulnerability to someone you just hooked is extremely helpful for the killer. As an opposite everyone knows Lauries ALWAYS have DS so they are never tunneled.

Low ranks that play in brackets where people dont have free character teachables unlocked dont know what BT or UB are or do, if you are getting tunneled as Bill in low ranks is because he is easier to spot and extremely noisy even when healthy, his grunts of pain and respiration are very very loud.

  • From "we dont know what we can give him since ingame he is a slow moving mele only mindless mob", I honestly believe they scrapped a power from an in development Killer and gave it to him, especially if you take on account how insanely buggy, rushed and poorly designed it was when released.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

wow iron will is absolutely ######### broken.

Thats a well know bug, people downed not having any grunt of pain has been in the game for years and IS NOT related to Iron Will, lately Ive been experiencing it more since the midchapter patch, they probably messed something up.

Anyway Selflessnea did find the correct answer.

  • Trickster depends A LOT on the map, you get a map with low wall obstacles and a good Trickster will completely decimate you because you cant avoid his knives in most situations (Haddonfield, several Autohaven for example), you get a map with high walls and a lot of LoS you will crush him because he wont be able to hit you many times and he is 110 m/s (Badham or Lery's for example).

  • Not enough data to judge, did you down him and went away searching for other Survivors? he could be using Tenacity and hid, did he get downed and teleported several meters (thats usually lag), did you went away for a minute? thats time enough to get very far away crawling.

Without more information its impossible to know what happened.

  • "Are you a survivor or killer main? Or do you play both equally?"

I play both, more or less equally unless some role has an insane queue (which in my zone is almost never).

    "Are you a good sport?"

Yes, as Killer I never camp, I rarely tunnel intentionally (cant avoid it if I face 4 people with the same char and cosmetics), I attempt to get at least 11 hooks per game, in most of my games Survivors end with a lot of points (even if I 4K almost always everyone has +15k points or much more) and I rarely get called things, as Survivor I dont T-bag unless the Killer was a real jerk, dont drag the game, dont sandbag, etc.

"Do you feel the need to max out all of your characters with all perks and prestige them?"

To an extent yes because there isnt much else to do with BPs once you have a Survivor P3 all perks and your 2 or 3 mains as P3 all perks.

"Do you get tilted when playing this game?"

    Only if facing Twins.

    "Do you buy cosmetics?"

    Nope.

  • You can always burn BPS and bribe the Survivors to farm the challenge, Ive never have any problem with any challenge doing this.

  • Theyll have to rework them eventually, Twins is so disgusting to play against people will eventually quit the game if they had to face them 1 in every 10 games.

No it's not a common bug it's literally nothing common bout it. Been playing since 2019 and the only time this happened was once back in the beginning of 2020. Some people have lives and dont want to be grinding on a videogame all day just to get back to where they were especially being solo. This isnt some light problem and those "its okay" and "it happens" is not gonna make everything better. This is bullcrap. I ain't got time for this they need to get their ######### together over there.

You are wrong, its common in the sense it happens to some people but since there is only 12 rank resets per year is not something you get to see every day but only on rank reset days, Ive been playing since 2018 and Ive been affected by rank reset bugs 4 or 5 times already, and they are never the same, sometimes I got reseted from 1 to 15, others I remain at rank1 and since is such a non gamebreaking bug a lot of people dont even care to report it, what does it matter if you get to rank 10 instead of 5? its just 15 extra games to reach rank1 again.

What its not common is the bug affecting so many people at once.

  • @NomiNomad said:

Pre-throwing pallets and running is an extremely annoying but effective strategy. A good portion of killers are somewhat anti-loop, and said Killers can't do anything against good ol' "Pre-Throw, Hold W".

Depends, if you predrop a safe pallet and run the Killer will just bypass it and follow you instead of breaking it. Today I had a Survivor drop the meat tree pallet and exit the tile without me even starting the animation to break it, the result was I didnt break it, went straight after the Survivor and downed him.

Dropping a pallet and running away is only useful on unsafe pallets or god pallets the Killer MUST break to continue chase because you cant loop them and they cant bypass them either so their only choice is to break it or having to take a massive detour to access that part of the map, like the pallet near the stairs in Midwich or several at The Game

The globe. Microsoft store, Xbox, PS, and switch cannot type in chat to steam players.

I believe the Microsoft Store players can talk in chat, as a rule of thumb if as PC player you see a globe with spaces in their name, for example "Internet Police" they are Microsoft Store and they can talk, if they dont have any space and their name is a word followed by numbers or they use the _ or - dashes instead of spaces they are console and cant talk in chat, for example "Danny_4" or "Ripper-1990".

I may be completely wrong but as PC player the only globes that can talk in chat are ones with spaces in their names.

  • Unless the trap has been activated while hooked, you are facing extra box+tampered trigger and you have bad RNG is almost impossible to die from the trap unless you slack.

  • If they hook bomb hit the saviour, if they are not hook bombing dont camp, problem solved in both instances.

  • The problem with Survivor at lower ranks is once you get to rank13 or so and lasts until rank6 or 7, when the teammates are bad or/and inexperienced enough to be a drag but you still need them to escape because the Killer is not as loopable and jukeable for 10 minutes like those in lower ranks but they also resort to facecamping to secure Kills if the match goes bad. Yes, that happens at red ranks too but in that bracket is much more prevalent.

  • I can guarantee all the Killer mains that complain about Hatch being unfair and rewarding bad Survivors that if BHVR were to get rid of the it you would be begging for it to come back in less than a week.

Do you really think if there was no Hatch the last guy would appear magically in front of you and point to a hook so you could get 4K easily? some would but others would chose to hide until the end of times either to win by DC or to spite you, before EGC was implemented, when Hatch only appeared after 2 gens were finished, Ive been in games were the last Survivor decided to hide full inmersion and they were not funny, I think my record was 35 minutes searching and I know for a fact people have been stuck up to hours because they couldnt find that last one.

    Who is Sluzzy?

The hero this forum needs but dont deserves.

  • Trapper, I always tought of him as a very straightforward Killer (go to loop, trap it, if they step on it when chasing you down them if they deactivate the trap you dont down them) but once I got a hang of him and started setting traps in very weird but effective places he got much much funnier.

The best trap is not the one that makes someone think "ah crap, obviusly there was a trap in that window" but the ones that make them think "who the heck puts a trap there?".

  • Oh hey, a Bizarro Sluzzy thread, I mean Lord_Tony thread.

Bait it out or git gud.

  • You know the risk and you took it, if it backfired is on you.

  • Ive been having a streak of repeating maps myself since they disabled Thompsons House and Fractured Cowshed, Ive been getting sent to Midwich and Sanctum of Wrath way too many times, sometimes even 2 out of 3 games are in one of those, I dont know if its weird RNG or the map rotation has bugged somehow.

  • Myers cant Mori someone without Judith's or Tombstone Piece, so it was either Devour Hope, Rancor or a Cypress Mori (this one allows to kill the last Survivor in the trial and requires no hooks).

  • Or maybe Valve saw the trailer and told them young Bill was a no no so they had to change the hair color. In any case something had to happen because coloring the beard brown/black or white can be done in one day without much trouble or effort.

  • @indieeden7 said:

Personally not a huge fan of it from the killer perspective. It never really feels like it does anything unless the window in question is a god window.

I never used it because I dont own the DLC but when it was released and people used it I saw the Killer getting 2 hits and a god pallet drop on shack several times, also forced me more times than I can remember to abandon L-T jungle gyms earlier than I wanted (luckily the Killer was old Trickster so he couldnt capitalize on it but still), take on account its not restricted to 1 window like Bamboozle, it can block several at once and one Survivor vaults it blocks it for all of them.

I think people didnt give it a try because they used it with old Trickster who was utter garbage so they never got much value out of it but I think they never got value of it because they were playing an extremely weak Killer instead of something with a bit more punch but the damage was already done, also being a Hex diminishes the pool of players willing to take the risk of having it cleansed early and having to play with 3 perks, myself included.

  • Depends on the map and the zone of said map, most of them have arguably regular and consistent hook spawns but some other maps can have hook deadzones for example Badham, if you down someone at the boiler room and the basement has not spawmed there you may find yourself with one hook within reach (or even none at all).

As a rule of thumb, anything that is a platform or underground where no hooks can spawn and you cant jump off easily because it has handrails (Pale Rose, the Saloon etc) is bound to have a long road to hooks if you down someone on the upper level, usually within reach but a very long carry distance.

  • SWF is the boogeyman of this game, you say their name, people cower in fear and hide under the bed while in reality most SWFs are pretty manegeable.

Not saying SWAT bully squads or depip squads are a myth, they do exist but they are excedingly rare, if a Killer is getting bullied by every 4-3 SWF is because they are bad at the game, not because all SWFs are strong.

  • Its not a bad idea, except NOED the rest could use some really minor something else as long as it isnt something you can detect since being able to tell the Killer has Bloodwarden or No Way Out or a Survivor has Left Behind can screw their utility.

My reason for NOED not needing another effect is because it already has, its sole existence makes Survivors cleanse Totems taking away time from gens.

  • I think BP codes can go through the 1 million cap (not sure tho) so it may be that.

  • Quite creative, I was expecting extremely broken or "paste perk into addon" stuff.

As Myers main I would add a bit of criticism, the "amount of stalk per Survivor" while creative and unique wouldnt be very useful, you have 6 EW3 pop ups, you never run out of stalk and if you ever were to run out the game is already won by that time (poping EW3 6 times in a game is pretty much 6 hooks at a bare minimum, usually you get 1,5/2 hooks per EW3 usage). I cant remember any game where I ran out of stalk and I still needed it but is a good idea anyway.

As a red addon for Myers I always tought of something that allows you to gain stalk at normal rate from several Survivors at the same time but at the cost of making him stationary while stalking. Right now if you stalk 1 person you gain 1 point, if you stalk 2 people, you get 1 point, half from each one, 3 people gives 1 point 0,33 from each and so on.

  • I got sent to rank9 in both roles as rank1 and I dont really care they put me today or tomorrow at 5, id rather climb the ladder again than to risk a worse bug also if every time the rank bugs they are going to give BPs I can only hope it bugs more often, even if I land at rank 20.

  • They are the exact same size they were before the rework and they are not even that big except Shelter Woods which is very Killer sided anyway.

On a funny note, you claim Coal Tower is close to balance and it turns out its the second smallest map in the game

P.D. This reminds me of that post by ¿Almo? about perceptions while playing the game, how what you may see/feel can be deformed and not adjust to what things really are.

  • Surveillance is very underrated, especially on low mobility and defensive Killers, it gives info on what needs pressure which is gens, as a low mobility Killer knowing someone is on the other half of the map after a hook is useless for they will be long gone.

Also is the only detection perk with no CD and no way of playing around, all others can be played around or countered.

  • Had to check if they really cost that and they actually do, in any case my headphones costed like 20€ and I never had any trouble hearing footsteps or grass moving as Spirit or anyone else in this game.

Problem with Spirit is if the headphones are decent enough they get the job done and decent enough are not prohibitive expensive.

1 … 29 30 31 32 33 … 59
