Its not, in Hex heavy builds is actually very good because Survivors will have to break the totems (not everyone uses Boons, rarely you see more than 2 Boons per match).
You can actually make the Survivors cleanse over 8-9 times which translates into 112-126 seconds (a gen and a half), not counting time to reach a totem, stalling from Pentimento until they cleanse etc.
-
My argument still stands, since you have double speed regression breaking a 3 gen will take double the time (actually longer since the slowdown gets exponential once you get someone in the ground) once this starts to spread thanks to youtube and content creators the game will devolve into "finding the best most defendible 3gen" and play exclusively around it which will turn games into slow turtlefests, now, if said base speed where to be reduced once the game starts progressing the Killer couldnt take advantage of that and lets be honest, people always complain about the first and second gens going too fast, once you get 1 down the game stalls inmensely in a natural way so it makes sense the slowdown applies at the begining of the game, where it really matters and starts to tone down since other factors start stalling it.
Or void 3gens alltogether on the tile algorithm (I think decreasing would be the better solution tho).
This is what happened to tunneling and facecamping, streamers and youtubers started crying about boons and how you can only play around camping hooks now and the community followed suit, if you want to implement a change you have to take on account all ramifications and how people will play around it and look at the worst posible scenarios, because looking only at the good side (better early game stall) can devolve into an abomination in dire need of fix (3gen turtles), has happened with boons, with Pyramid Head (people found you could bodyblock cage rescues and tunnel someone out by reading the aura) with Twins (built as 2 killers, ended up as mass sluggers), purple Toolbox spam, Forever Freddy, Moonwalk Legion, Mettle of Man etc... most of those things caught the developers unaware of... "creative" playstyles and unfun strats created around so they had to be fixed (or will be fixed eventually).
-
When you select Twins the game automatically picks another Killer at the start of the match, this way nobody suffers and everyone is a winner.
This could also apply for maps, everytime RPD gets selected you are sent to a random McMillan map.
-
As a rule of thumb "people with ugly cosmetics" fall into "im going to try my hardest to be a pain in the ass" category, applies both sides and above all skill spectrum.

The perk slot is the cost to HAVE DS, thats not the same as the opportunity cost to specifically use it for body blocking.
Also, as I said in another comment, even if it wasn't made base line I still believe it should activate on both hooks considering all of the (rightful) restrictions placed on it.
"A 3 gen situation is a failure of the survivor team's macro decision making,"
Yes and no, how do you break a 3gen from the start if the Killer refuses to leave those 3 gens? If the Killer is roaming the map and the Survivors fix a gen in the cluster, this is with the current game mechanics.
With increased base regression? how do you force a Killer to leave a cluster he doesnt want to leave? First of all a 3gen allows the Killer to camp the hook AND patrol the gens since anyone downed will be invariably hooked in the cluster, right now with normal regression draining 12 hook states of 4 Survivors is hard so a 3 gen right from the start is a suicide because with slower regression eventually the gens will get fixed, even if it takes 5 minutes for 1 single gen, a tap here, a tap there slowly until you get 100% in one... with double regression? thats a whole different thing, as I said Ive been in 3gens with Ruin and it was impossible, gens regressed way too fast.
Now, if that regression would decrease once gens start to get fixed it will make Killers think twice and force them out of their turtle or they face a 3 gen with 0 hooks and base regression, which I already said, its breakable even if its extremely slow and dull.
For reference, I was once in a game in Suffocation Pit against a Huntress where 5 gens where on the mine shaft side of the map and only 2 spawmed on shack and we got 5gend badly, you could say "you guys are dumb, just fix 3 gens on the shaft side" thing is Huntress refused by all means to leave that side of the map, we tried to lure her, we tried to split push going 2 per gen, 1 each gen, we tried a ton of things, nothing could get her out of there, everytime she chased us out of there after a hit she would just stop at the middle, refill hatchets and stand guard again, at the end we found the hatch (thanks to the bump), 2 suicided, 1 dcd and the last 1 got hatch, this was with base regression, imagine twice as fast.
P.D. this isnt even taking a weakened form Corrupt as basekit.
-
Ruin regression baseline cant be done without tweaking because it would be almost impossible to break 3gen situations (especially 3 Survivors vs 3gen scenario), the only way it could be implemented is if decreased the more gens get done or if maps dont have as many 3gen openings as they have now.
With permanent X2 base regression games would devolve into a turtlefest where the Killer would just race towards the biggest gen cluster and defend it with his life while clearing pallets in the nearby tiles but if it decreased the more gens get fixed it would force him to get out of the position to protect the regression.
Ive been in 3gen situations with Ruin active and it was literally impossible to fix a gen, I know Ruin gives the autokick effect and this change you suggest would not but still, even if it takes 10 seconds for each kick the increased regression makes it very hard to fix anything against high mobility, ranged Killers or Doctor.
-
I dont browse the forums, reddit and DBD generals on a daily basis but I dont remember seeing any "nerf lightborn" threads or comments lately (or ever), are you sure the perk is in a hot spot or a gross exageration?
-
Its Jeff by a huge margin.
-
For Killer:
- Prove Thyself, very annoying at the start of the game since if Survivors get good spawns and you get a bad one you can lose a gen way too fast without much counterplay.
- I dont really care about the rest of the perks.
For Survivor:
- More than especific perks what I find annoying are certain combinations of perks and powers (Blight+Pursuer) or perks and maps (Ruin+Lery's).
-
On high wall or corn maps Shadowstep is very very strong unless the Survivor is bleeding, on low wall maps is rather meh.

So its a matter of copyright?
Rip :/
It is, and as far as people say Freddy license holders are tough to work with so I wouldnt hold my breath waiting for any kind of cosmetic for him.
@gammatsunami said:
The licence holders are crazy, id buy all of freddys outfits
Maybe they want to sell cosmetics and know theyll sell a lot but they demand a very high cut, high enough to deter BHVR or maybe they demand too much control on what BHVR will make (like BHVR designs the cosmetics, makes them, polishes them, advertises them and the license holders get a claim on all assets so if they want to make their own Freddy game they can just use BHVR work without giving them anything in return) etc.
Corporate bussiness is always about the money but sometimes is about money in a less direct way.
-
Only if Im playing a Killer I never play for challenges/rituals, if I play with the ones I usually play I take the challenge.
-
If we take on account the first movie was a low budget flick and Sadako was just an actress with a wig (or her hair) over her face and white powder to make her look like a corpse, the look was very... simple and not very spectral. Odds are they are going for one of the sequels since those had a higher budget and way more make up.
P.D. the one who got licensed is Sadako Yamamura not Samara Morgan from the USA version or thats what I understand so I dont expect anything looking like Samara.

I am of the opinion that all names should be hidden, at least in the lobby, while shown in the score screen.
There's always a chance that people take it personally and start attacking a specific player, Survivor or Killer, however I would like to see the players' ping in the lobby, that's something that could be pretty helpful.
You are right about that but playing 3 times in a row against a facecamper is not exactly pleasant, same as playing 3 times against a SWAT team, at least Killers can avoid that situation while Survivors cant.
And before anyone says "thats rare" try playing on low player hours, you can get the same 2 or 3 Killers and 10-14 Survivors in the span of 2 hours.

The irony of the thread title with the actual tone of the op is nothing short of amazing.
This is a self serving apologize thread about playing in the most toxic way but blaming the devs and Survivors because one cries and the other nerfs so they made me do it.

Blizzard is way more distant and antagonizing when dealing with their playerbase.

The Oak-Offerings are some of the most useless Offerings, at least for Survivors. Because they are designed with the fact in mind that 4 Survivors can potentially burn them. So one of them is super-weak and does almost nothing.
In general, on most maps there are so many Hooks, you will barely see a difference.
Pretty much this, the only time I noticed one of those being useful was in Badham if a Survivor gets downed in the boiler room and the basement is in shack.
-
Jolt is probably the worse gen regression perk of all, unless you are in The Game the perk wont affect more than 1 or 2 gens (and if it affects more you have a very strong 3 gen and you already have half the match won anyway) plus it doesnt synergize very well with PGTW or Ruin.
Overcharge is more of a detection perk and Oppression while having a massive CD the effect is quite decent.

That's not alot.
You usually see new killers constantly and killer queues are usually awful.
But no ones been playing her even when killer queues are extremely fast.
Nah not anymore, that was the case long ago when there were fewer Killers and every release felt fresh but now we have 26 and 7 out of 8 last releases are ranged and built around locking animations, in the end they are all "wait for Survivor to be locked and hit em" it gets stale.
Its another "the Killer is ranged" episode... yawn how original...

Even though I pasted an answer from the wiki, how do we explain when survivors fast vault repeatedly for the killer to come to them? You’re telling me every instance that the killer sees those is within 48m?
Yes and is the easiest way to test the radius, when you start seeing spammed rushed actions just backtrack until they dissappear, once they do just go forward again and check if they start appearing again.
Take on account 48 meter radius is rather big and you may need to go to a corner if someone is doing them on the center of the map.
-
@tippy2k2 said:
...wait, fo rizzle?
Huh. I've been playing for almost two years and I had no idea there was a range to it.
You dont notice what you cant notice, I mean if you are at 50 meter distance and someone rushes an action you would never know there was a rushed action (you are so far away you wont be able to even see the Survivor doing it), on the other hand when you are inside the radius you will always notice them reinforcing the idea they always activate.
Also the notification is not capped for gen skillchecks and hook saves, those are map wide always.

They aren't even a failed concept tho, how are they a failed concept? If they just let you switch during fatigues to remove all the waiting, it would not only encourage hooking instead of slugging, but make them feel way better as well.
Genuinely curious why you think they should be deleted because they are pretty unique and not completely oppressive compared to other killers
Their only viable way of playing them is by mass slugging which is not very fun to play as nor against, especially when BHVR has been trying to not encourage certain things considered unpleasant.
They made something that can only be played in a way they dont want to encourage, they tought they would be making a Killer able to pressure 2 places at once and they managed to make a mass slugger, thats why they are a failed concept and I assume the reason they have been collecting dust since they were released.
-
Twins is a failed concept and since they cant get rid of them because people paid money they went with the second option, let the dust settle over them in a way almost noone plays them.
Im all for that, pity they cant delete them from the game.
-
Happened to me a few times over the span of several years, half of them the Killer was obviusly hacking, the others couldnt say for sure.
-
Mainly the maps, for example Trickster is universally seen as one of the worst Killers and rightfully so, he is quite weak indeed, then he gets sent to Corn and he destroys.
Maps are the biggest source of imbalance in this game and a real problem because if you buff/nerf something you can make it completely broken in a lot of maps, they should pick one gamestyle map, make them all with the same gamestyle and balance perks and powers around that, it makes no sense to have maps as open as Coldwind maps and then maps like RPD and Lery, or maps as small as Coal Tower and another one as big as Mother's Dwelling.
-
I can count with the fingers of my hands how many times a Boon has tilted the scales in favor of the Survivors in a real meaningful way, both playing as Survivor and as Killer.
In my opinion people are overreacting to Boons, they are strong but not as broken as old MoM or first iteration DS.
-
Killers have been camping and tunneling since the dawn of time, its not worse now than it was before and its not because of Boons, actually it was worse before Moris rework, when they meant someone out in less than 2 minutes.
-
Some people should really think before they post...
-
Gaming "journalists" rarely make any research at all, they are paid by bulk so they resort to pump out the maximum amount of articles they can write, even if they are wrong, after all most readers are not familiar with wathever they write.
I remember there was this article where they listed the best maps for DBD as Killer and Haddonfield was first or second spot (I dont think Haddonfield is THAT bad for Killer but it isnt a Killer sided map).
-
Another "I feel miserable as Killer so Ill be toxic" thread, how nice... NEXT!!
-
Sometimes is faster and less painful to eat a 5 minute penalty than being dragged into a 15-20 minute slugfest against Twins (for example).
-
Spirit, Wraith and Blight because 99'9% of times it means you are facing a sweatlord, Leatherface because 90% of times you are facing a camper and Twins because they are disgusting to play against.
-
Nurse is stronger because there is nothing anyone can do against a very good one except going full stealth, the moment she spots you, you are going down in 10-15 seconds, the Artist at least you can press W to gain some distance.
What Artist has is more potential in the "low effort-massive reward" departament, she is extremely easy to use in a way the Survivors dont have much to do and will eat a hit yes or yes, you can always close any loop without any dificulty, you can always check gens easily etc, same stuff as Forever Freddy, he wasnt the most OP of its era but damn he was the easiest and most rewarding, the thing that infuriated me the most wasnt dying to him, but knowing the player was garbage and was getting spoonfed by Freddy basekit.
-
Nah, Lightborn only messes with flashbangs and flashlights, and its as easy to bypass, just dont bring 4 flashlights into the lobby as almost 99% of Killers who use it is because they saw an abnormal amount of those in the lobby, especially if they think its a premade.
On the other hand, you can always equip 4 yellow flashlights with no addons, trick the Killer into believing he is going to get bullied by the evil SWF™ so he equips it, you are esentially making him play with 3 perks.
-
People also dont realize that pairing old Thrill with Pentimento would make a combo almost as broken as old Undying+Ruin, especially on Killers who have a lot of map pressure.
You try to get rid of old Thrill without cleansing dulls?, Killer gets a notification and stops you, you get rid of a dull to lessen the cleansing timer?, Killer revives it as a Hex, gives Thrill the charge you got rid off AND since the cleansed totem is now a hex it also gives a notification if you try to cleanse it, pair this with Blight, Spirit, Hillbilly, Demogorgon etc and you have pretty much uncleansable hexes that just keep getting worse and worse.
Imagine pairing Pentimento, Old Thrill, Ruin and Thanatophobia/Tinkerer together on Blight...
-
Been playing Trickster for some days, the problem with him isnt exactly himself but the maps, you get a low wall map or open and you destroy, you get a high wall or indoor map and you get destroyed.
If maps had roughly 50% of low walls and high walls maybe he could be a better Killer, with current map style discrepancy its impossible to balance him in any way, you make him stronger he becomes godly on places like Autohaven or Shelter Woods, you nerf him he becomes a 4 escape at 5 minutes on places like Yamaoka State or Crotus Penn.
-
Its another "the Killer is ranged" episode... yawn...
-
Its weird because altough I have been seen a lot of cheating related threads lately I never encountered them during the last year, I had encountered them but loooooooooong ago (I obviusly believe there is a cheating epidemic, not saying people were lying) and then yesterday I had 2 hacking Killers in the span of 1 hour. Maybe you are being lucky or Im unlucky or god knows what.
-
As far as maps goes, yes RPD is the worst thing to ever be implemented, I cant believe im saying this but that thing is even worse than Midwich, I tought it was physically impossible, as in the laws of the universe could not allow for a map worse than Midwich, but alas same as science, brave and inquisitve people manage to break the barriers of what we take for granted and released a new bane upon the game.
As for all content, including perks, mechanics, maps, etc, Twins is by far the worst atrocity to ever walk the fog, I fear the day they actually manage to surpass the "experience" of playing as and against Twins, if I had to chose to delete either Twins or RPD from the game I would pick the first any day of the week.
-
They went to the new EZ-modo stompalot low effort Killer, in other words, they are playing Wraith.
-
Bugs, performance issues, perks nobody will use and a Killer with a ranged attack that will be insanely strong in 1vs1 but overall garbage at anything else.
3 out of those 4 is what we get lately so Im betting on the winning horse.

I can tell.
Literally just thought it was cool not to face only Blight and Nurse for a survivor session and thus took notes of the matches to share and some people try and make more of it than it's supposed to be. I literally said:
"These results aren't really supposed to mean anything because it's just 13 games but I thought I would share them anyways because I usually don't keep track of any game results."
I know, I read the whole post and your disclaimer but still a lot of posters will just ignore wathever and bandwagon into "SWF must removed", "nerf DH/NOED", "X Killer is broken", "nerf genspeeds", which is sad but its the state of the forum and comunity.
-
Trickster has several problems
First a problem shared by other Killers, especially later released Killers, which consists in if he manages to get optimal conditions you cant do much against him and if he doesnt he is so easy to play against is not even fun, Trickster is garbage on high wall jungle gyms and loops but if he gets you on the open (corn, Shelter Woods or Glenvale) or if he gets you in a low wall map (Haddonfield, Backwater Swamp or Autohaven) you are doomed, so its either unfair or 4 people escape at 6 minutes, both scenarios are dull.
Second he has very little synergies with a ton of perks, once I tried him and started thinking about what build could I do I noticed how poorly his power works with most perks, while Huntress suffers from this too her power is stronger and makes up for smaller pool of perks, for example any M1 attack perk like Sloppy dont work, Exposed perks like Haunted Grounds dont work, TR related perks dont work (he has a lullaby), he is very slow and lacks range so detection perks are not that great etc.
Third he is a ranged Killer in the sea of ranged Killers they have been releasing lately so he feels uninspired, they just took Legion and Huntress and made an hybrid.
Fourth and subjective, some people believe his looks are not fitting for the game and Kpop is very polarizing, a lot of people either love it or hate it, no inbetweens.
-
13 games are nothing statistic wise, I understand your wish to share them but this kind of posts only use is to rile up mains (from wathever side feels afected) and start ranting about wathever flies their head.
-
I dont think its intended, especially since it cant be done with controllers, same as old Blight turns, they should really look into some of the "techs" out there and state clearly which ones are intended, which are not but they let them to turn into features and which ones are not intended and plan to fix in the ¿near? future.

RPD.
I cant believe they managed to make something even worse than Midwich.
-
Absurd suggestion, being injured is already dangerous enough and before someone comes and parrots "being injured is strong lol you have DH", sure, try being injured against small TR Killers and see how well it goes...
-
Twins by a long margin, they are designed around one of the worst aspects of this game (camping and slugging), doesnt matter how weak, annoying or unfun other Killers are, theyll never be as unfun as Twins for both ends.
