  • I was thinking something had to have changed with them. I got hit with one today and it seemed to both blind and stun, like Blast Mine. Had Lightborn on and the blind did nothing, but I was frozen in place for a few seconds. Never had that happen before, with or without Lightborn.

  • It's unfortunate that no forethought was put into this when planning to release the game across so many platforms. Particularly consoles, which want to lock you into using their hardware as that's a big source of cash for them up-front and can hold you at least until the next gen console cycle starts again for continual revenue.

Just the smallest amount of thinking ahead would have had all player accounts, regardless of source, deposit their saved game info onto a site owned by BHVR so the players were allowed an exit path.

  • Both the daily ritual and Hag achievement Even Punishment are not working.

Didn't they make the Boxes a fixed number... 1-4 (a total of 12 boxes need to be searched divided between 4 Survivors which means... 4-4-3-1 is the bench mark)

It's supposed to be, but it can be fairly far off. As a survivor with the first RBT on, I've had trials where I got it off on the first box, and trials it took six boxes.

  • It has more to do with the player population in a given MMR bracket. Because of the lower population the game has these days it's not really that uncommon. Playing killer tonight I faced the same SWF three times over seven trials. In the third trial they seemed to have had enough of my sht for one evening and started DCing.

I keep getting sent to Europe.

Everybody's ping in my game is above 150

Same. No lag indicator pops up in the lobby, but as soon as I'm in-game it's solid red. I check my network monitor and I'm connected through a Western European Amazon Web Services server. I'm based in North America.

Before the ping meter changes I used to be able to see the high ping right in the lobby away and was able to leave. Since BHVR completely changed the ping meters to keep players from seeing how far outside of their geographic region they're allowing the game clients to connect to, you don't know until you're in-game and it's been awful.

See, that brown plague addon is meant to be her nerf gimmick for BP addon, which is why it's brown. It also happens to come with two buffs that actually make it an entire potential playstyle, thing is weird.

It is, but it's pretty effective and fun. I gave it a shot for one of her dailies to hit survivors when fully infected, and it was a breeze. I like running it so much I main that playstyle on Plague now.

  • #1: Legion. Just the worst designed killer in the game. I'd take a Nurse over Legion.

#2. Wesker. Too chatty, too overused, obnoxious.

#3. Bubba. One-shot face camper that even the devs can't stop.

#4 Perma-EWI3 Myers. An otherwise limited basekit killer with an "I win" button.

  • If it's bugged it must be fairly recent. I completed it around Fall of last year just by running the perk with three others and wiping a survivor group before all gens were done.

    image.png

  • It's gotten pretty frequent. Could be random server issues or a survivor player DDoSing you. It's about equal chance.

Playing during prime time the servers have a hard time keeping up, so you'll tend to notice lag/rubberbanding/hiccups more often.

Going up against certain SWFs you'll notice you disconnect as soon as they start to lose, or are running a build that directly defeats their one and only tactic (Lightborn or Franklins vs flashlight nazis, playing Pyramid Head vs sabo squad, using Sloppy/Nurse's Calling or iri tag Blight vs medkit crew, etc.).

You can try adjusting your playtime first to see if that has an effect. If not, you can pick up a VPN recommended for gamers to try out (most have a free trial period) to see if it's DDoS attacks. Surfshark, NordVPN, and ExpressVPN are highly rated among the gaming community.

  • The overall aesthetic looked so much better than the cartoony maps we have now.

  • My only issue is with Lethal Pursuer. Seems counter to the intent of the game to have a perk that shows you the location of your targets for a while at the start of the match. It's understandable that after it expires the killer has to three-perk the rest of the match, but the damage is already done. A lot of people quit if they're found/downed/hooked a few seconds into a trial. No investment in anything yet, one hook state already down, no reason to stay.

It's like a mini version of Legion.

Yeah, I don't really get the whole angle of being all cool and blasé about being a quitter who actively fights commitment in whatever way possible. Like it's the season-pass ticket to get into the Salty Spitoon.

Though I can respect it on some level. Like yes, I WILL throw my teammates to the wolves, and I WILL AFK if I can't do so immediately, and I may even sandbag them if they desperately try to keep me in a game I queued up for. My shame is fast, but I am faster.

See, now you're getting it! :D

Players who DC or kill themselfes often on hook should be flagged or beeing matched with eachother.

That's why i keep reporting them, because it IS unsportsmanlike.

The only reason why this isn't a thing yet are perks like Slippery Meat and Deliverence, hard to track i guess.

According to BHVR, suiciding on hook is a part of the game. Keep sending those reports. They just get deleted and slow the ticket reps from getting to actual useful tickets. Keeps the hackers and exploiters going for another day or so.

  • Almost exactly what I said. Reading comprehension is an important life-long skill.

I was considering buying some of these, but the fact that they're exempt from iri shards and the fact that they are time limited has made me decide to say no. What also has me saying no is the fact that solo q is still a terrible experience and that has no end insight. I won't be giving bhvr anymore of my money, until they start being for their player base.

I don't care about the fomo, I'm choosing to miss out. because at this moment in time bhvr doesn't deserve my money. I'll continue to play with what I have, they're only skins.

They keep changing things that do not need to be changed while never doing anything about or dragging their feet about issues until their golden children the fog whispers complain.

Vault speed for killers didn't need to be changed, blast mine didn't need to be changed. The doors and pallets didn't need to be changed. The fact that the twins have to wait until january to be fixed is wrong. The fact that stadia players are hanging onto till pretty much the last moment to get their stuff transfered is wrong. The fact that I can't just go from my playstation to my pc and play with all my progression and purchases is wrong. The fact that nurse still hasn't been addressed is wrong. The fact that Jeff has no cosmetics is wrong.

until bhvr starts to right this crap none of us should be giving them money. The only people that can make them change is us and our wallets.

Well said. I have no interest in buying time-limited cosmetics, particularly when the only option is Auric Cells.

Okay then- the Ultimate Edition of the game costs £56.52, and only includes original chapters up to All-Kill, meaning there are still at least 15 content DLCs to purchase, the majority of which are not available for currency obtainable through in-game playtime.

And they're still using practices as if the game were F2P.

BHVR aren't gonna give you free things my guy, you don't have to dickride this hard for a company that doesn't care about you beyond your wallet.

    This made me actually lol.

  • The bots can be painful at times, and in some ways play a lot better than actual players, so it's not an exact estimate for a real trial.

I played PH against them, and the bots could predict 100% of the time when and where I was going to use his ranged power, even when out of LOS for a while. Every. Time. The only time I could hit them with it was when they were locked into an animation of a pallet throw or window vault. They knew how to crouchwalk over his trails like a boss, too. The few times I could get one to actually cross a trail was when at least two bots were in the same place, I'd laid trails all over, and the bots had to both split up and run away in different directions.

Landing Lethal Blinks on some of the bots as a Nurse is torture. I also suck at Nurse, so there's that.

Throwing knives as Trickster or hatchets as Huntress? Some of the bot profiles are master jukers.

Regardless of stealth killer or otherwise, they always start to run when you get moderately close to a gen they're working on.

When bots were added I thought they would be too easy, and granted some of the profiles for them are somewhat noobish, but overall they're surprisingly challenging.

Aside from my bad matches today I've noticed for about a month now

If I play the side that DOESN'T have an incentive the games are less toxic, less sweaty, and generally easier.

Has anyone else noticed this? I guess it makes sense. If one side is getting sweaty and rude, the other logs off, kicking in the BP incentive. It really feels like the BP incentive is just telling me "here this side will be miserable but we will pay you to play it".

Everyday I've played for about a month I've done the opposite side of the BP incentive and the games were fine. But the MOMENT I've played a few games with the incentive it's been a nightmare.

Thoughts? Maybe it's my imagination but I had another couple friends try it and they got the same result. I'm not saying it worked this way every match but the majority atleast.

It is, but the reason I think this is occurs is because the MMR is incredibly thrown off (even more than usual) for the side with the bonus. Technically both sides, but it's much more noticeable on the bonus side. For example, if you're playing Killer with 100% queue bonus, you can get anything from a full stacked SWF sweatlord crew to a mostly carbohydrate-based noob group. There's not enough killers to go around so the game sticks you in whatever MMR bracket that's been waiting the longest as the game has lobbies to fill.

Compare this to the survivor side, who at the time would have 0% queue bonus. They're more likely to receive a similar MMR level of killer and other survivors to work with as they have the pick of what's available at that moment (particularly other survivors, hence having the higher population to need no queue bonus). The fact that it's not an immediate lobby pop is good, because the game is actually looking/waiting for other players at/near your MMR level to match you with. That's not to say you'll get a teammate or killer way off from your MMR, it's just less likely to happen.

  • I've only seen one Trickster my last play session, and their ability to down survivors was...intense. Saloon map, two survivors were working the gen above the bar. Trickster rolls around, both survivors run to the other side of the overhang and drop down the broken hole in the front right corner. Survivors split up each taking a different route and made a run along the outer wall to the other side of the bar.

Trickster drops down, starts throwing knives, and downs both previously healthy survivors before either one reaches their far corner. The colored ring around their party images did two loops crazy fast, one after the other. The icon for being injured had just popped up as the survivors were falling over. When the Trickster turned from the first survivor to the second, still throwing knives, it sounded like machine gun fire hitting the wall.

Didn't hang around to check perks/addons.

it's not uncommon for the matchmaking to fail in this game, much less so when playing solo queue survivor.

An example of a match just now, I ran bond and we go to killers map offering of meat plant vs a huntress with 5k hour something decent addons and streamer so i suppose he took the match very serious, as it was meat plant i could mostly see my entire team with bond, and right away i could see that my teammates were terrified.

No one was doing gens and they were mostly hiding, with 3.7k hours in this game my thought process at this moment was simple, no one is going to escape, and no one was gona get alot of bloodpoints either.

i do some scratch marks to inititate a chase but the huntress was already on her way to me so i started the chase injured into a dead zone and downed, i see 2 of our globe teammates on the floor above my hook and a pc player Ace on a gen.

With seeing this and mentioned above the matchmaking system had clearly failed so i tried to suicide on hook but one of the globe players unhooked me, the huntress came back after a few seconds to down me but left me to bleed out so i could observe the rest of the clownfiesta.

I did not guess the matchmaking failed this badly, but everyone died with 0 gens being completed and bp for ace 11k and the others bellow, now i don't take this game deadly serious like many others so i could care less in that term, i just wanted to play another match where the matchmaking system didn't fail this badly.

But here in the endgame chat the Ace seemed to be very upset and take this game deadly serious, i can't know what another human is thinking, but i simply said in the endgame chat that the matchmaking clearly failed.

Hell breaks loose & Ace then starts to hurl insults at me and saying everything was my fault, i said i could see everyone because i had bond and would rather play a new match. But no everything was my fault. I asked am i the whole team? surely you can complete even 1 gen? silence followed up with more insults.

The huntress was a bit upset aswell but when i said i was right that no one would escape, i asked would anyone escape even if i played? huntress replied with no because of map offering etc (strange answer but that was what the huntress said) maybe didn't wanted to acknowledge that i was right, who knows.

I read somewhere that bhvr was gona try to improve on the matchmaking system, better late than never i suppose, it's whatever for me but it would be nice if it could produce more even matches to avoid matches such as these.

With some context in place and the Ace player did not want to engage in a discussion rather than hurl insults, i turn to the community, what is your opinion when matches like this happends, was i right in what i did? do you guys suicide on hook when the matchmaking system fails in hope to get another match where everyone can have fun? no one doing gens? people dc vs nurse? 3 players downed under the same hook etc?

Matches like that are pointless all around. Neither side is going to get any real BPs, no challenge on the killer side, no learning opportunity on the survivor side, no fun all around.

Yeah, I usually bail on matches like that. There really is no point to them other than a waste of time on your end or a weak farm on the killer end. Total waste of time.

I thought about something like this after I remembered how left 4 dead had a game director (an AI) that would make the game easier or harder depending on how well the game was going for the player. If the player was doing extremely well the game director would spawn more enemies and make ammo and med kits spawn less, if the player was doing super bad more ammo and med kits would spawn, and so on...

This idea came to me to try to help killers who are struggling against good survivors and since the entity is supposed to help the killer it kinda fits a little bit within the lore, I guess? So how about having a Entity (game) director here? Here's a few ideas I had about how this could work.

Instead of having just 2 exit gates the map can have 4 exit gates, 1 on each side of the map, however only 2 will become active (survivors will only be able to open 2 of the gates as always) but the game director will choose which 2 doors will be the ones that will become active, if the killer is struggling then the director can choose to make the 2 active gates be the ones that are closer to one another, this could help the killer have more interaction with survivors at the final stages of the match. If survivors are doing extremely bad then maybe the 2 exit gates that become active will be the ones that are on opposite sides of the map.

Another example: Lets suppose survivors are doing extremely well, the game director can help the killer by spawning extra scourge hooks, or block a few windows. This will obviously help the side that is struggling the most. A lot could be done with something like this, a lot of ideas could be implemented, I know devs are not gonna do it but sometimes I wonder if the game would be a little bit more balanced if a game director was implemented.

I think this would be something good to add to the custom bot games, but I don't know how it'd work out for live/public games.

  • It'd be nice if some perks had at least an alt color layout if you're running two+ that use the same color.

Like running Eruption and Surveillance together. Someone stopped a gen from regressing? Yellow. You kicked a gen? Also yellow. If it wasn't for Discord's initial explosion to set it apart you could add it's yellow in as well.

  • @usesPython said:

Play yellow bottle only Clown, you'll get it in like two games

That explains a Clown trial I had a few days ago. The Clown kept throwing the wrong bottles (confirmed when hit with one) and I thought they were just new. Could've been doing that.

  • I got a bunch of them by playing a stealth killer and spooking survivors with Sprint Burst, smacking them just as they start to sprint away.

  • It'd be nice if players like the OP would just take a break or quit already. No need to be a Felicia about it. No one cared before, they're not caring now, they're not going to care on the next post. Be the statistic, don't just talk about it.

  • From what I can tell, each survivor has a set of profiles that can be pulled from when you load a bot. Each profile has a set of behaviors they follow. Some are pretty simplistic, others more intelligent. Some are downright aggressive, and some very closely match player behavior.

I played a bot game with one of the Jakes (05?) where the guy didn't work a gen in three trials I played vs him. I know, because I was playing Plague and he never got sick unless I sprayed a pallet or window ahead of him during a chase. But he did stealth around and pull other bots off hooks and heal them.

Meg 03 seems to be a decent runner/looper, while Zarina 02 is a pallet-throwing mo fo. One of the Mikaela profiles is pretty good with a flashlight, while another Mikaela profile is horrible with it.

I've even had some BM me after throwing a pallet.

I've not tested yet if there's a correlation between MMR of the killer you're playing and the type of bots that will spawn, but it's pretty clear that each survivor profile is at least somewhat distinct.

  • When it comes to two survivors left, unless there's one gen left and the two are in a SWF, the trial is effectively over. There's really no point in doing gens unless both people are on them as the killer will find you long before you get close to finishing the gen. And since, at least for the moment, escape is the win condition for survivors, most don't want to stick their neck out for a random who's probably hiding as well. Especially if you, they, or both are on death hook.

My move is to stealth around until I find the other survivor and try to get them on a gen with me. Most of the time the other survivor gets found first, because, and this is still bizarre to me, survivors will still fast vault/interact with everything for no reason. Killer camps the downed to draw the last one out, or bleeds the downed survivor till close to death them picks them up to try to get them to rat out the other survivor.

This is usually when I start video recording. If they keep the killer busy while I can work on a gen, at least that's something. If the survivor works with the killer to find me, I report them at the end and send the video along with screenshots of the trial info. In a few past trials the other survivor tried to sandbag me for the killer and winds up taking the hit. I've had it happen just often enough that the other survivor bleeds out (from the killer waiting to pick them up) and the killer chases me until I find the hatch. Then I usually get the killer and rat blowing up end game chat with all kinds of nastiness and I can report both of them.

But yeah, some kind of change needs to be done when it's down to two survivors. They get a minor gen repair buff, or movement speed buff, or something.

Hello! As the title says this is what I would like to see for the next mid chapter. The thing I want more than anything else is...Perks! I want to see 10-20 more reworked perks to really keep things fresh.

-Autodidact: I want to see a 10/15/20% increase to trigger a skill check when healing teammates.

-Blast Mine: Give us back the bomb lease if it isn't used.

-Buckle Up: When a teammate is on the ground you see the killer's aura within 10 meters of them. If you take a hit while picking a teammate up in the killer's terror radius you gain a speed boost for 1/1.5/2 extra seconds

-Calm Spirit: REMOVE the interaction speed penalty to items, it is deterring players from using it for this reason.

-Dead Hard: Change it to where if you are winthin 10/12/14 meters of a teammate getting chased by the killer they gain a 2/2.5/3% movement speed boost. can only apply once per chase.

-Empathic Connection: increase healing speed, botany does 50% so i would go 35%

-Pharmacy- when injured make it to where you can get a medkit through the rummage action. Of course once per chest.

-Beast of Prey: Rework it into anything and it will be 100 times better instantly.

-Brutal Strength: increase each tier by 5%

-Coup de Grâce: you do not lose a stack unless a survivor is injured or gets into the dying state, deep wound does not count. Also an idea is with each gen completed you get 1 stack plus a bonus.

-Dark Devotion: increase the timer to 30/35/40 seconds

-Dragon's Grip: change the cooldown to 90/80/70 seconds

-Dying Light: rework to where the increase healing is 10% items are consumed 15% faster

-Eruption: any survivor within 3/4/5 meters of a gen that has been kicked get put into the incapacitated for 15 seconds. More fair for solo and swf

-Fearmonger: increase timer to each by 3 seconds

-Grim Embrace: After the first two different survivors are hooked all gens are blocked for 30 seconds. When the last 2 are hooked block for 60 seconds and reveal all survivor auras for 5 seconds.

-Hangman's Trick: new effect would make hooks take 10/15/20% more time to sabo, if it is a scourge hook it needs 25%. maybe they respawn 10% faster

-Hex: Ruin: keep the removal of the hex after 1 death but increase the top regression to 150%

-Oppression: change cooldown to 60/50/40 seconds

-Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance: remove the scream so Dead Mans Switch doesn't apply.

-Septic Touch: increase time to 10/15/20 seconds

-Territorial Imperative: Rework it into anything and it will be 100 times better instantly.

-Thanatophobia: change it back to work how it was pre rework but instead of 3/3.5/4 its 2/2.5/3.5.

Whew that was a lot of perks...now of course this won't happen but a person can dream...I want to feel that feeling where everyone was using fun or unused perks after the major rework. Of course maps need to be shrunken down to more manageable sizes. Bugs need to be fixed and much more. List a few perks you want to see changed.

I like many of these. The main exception would be for Beast of Prey. I'd like it to keep it's current effect but have something else added to make it more useful. I like using that perk for tome entries where you have to hit X number of survivors while undetectable. Chase for 15 seconds then whack them.

  • I had an Autohaven map last night where there were no hooks in one entire quarter of the map, and the rest of the map had some within a short walk to each other. Fortunately the survivors finished the gen(s) in that area first, so it being a dead hook zone only caused an issue once where I had to drop a survivor so they couldn't wiggle free.

First time I've seen that happen like that, thought it was strange. Usually it's Midwich causing the hook problems.

  • Was rather disappointed on the DLC sales as well. The last four DLCs, which weren't worth the price tag at release for a number of issues, had very weak discounts. The highest discount was 30% off for only one of them (Roots of Dread). None of them are worth buying at less than 50% off.

Roots of Dread DLC specifically needs to be 60%+ off. The map still has problems, the survivor and their perks (though had interesting lore) were kinda meh, and the killer is lower rung with a power that still causes eye strain and headaches. Killer's perks aren't really used, either.

  • Correction: Shrine of Secrets updates weekly, not daily.

I wish it updated daily. I've rarely seen a single perk popup for anything released in 2022 so far.

Sometimes i can't sleep so i go play some dbd matches, The game becames unplayable at 3-4 am, i can guarantee you that 8 out of 10 matches are afk killers swiping their weapon around, i know most of them are deranking or trying to earn some BP but daam, i don't mind getting 1 or 2 afk killers but 4 IN A ROW like i had last night that's just too much, it litteraly becames a generator repair simulator, all you do is gens and leave and repeat if you get other afk killer, the match can last up to 10 minutes it all depends on the teammates you get, since i only get noob players that instead of doing gens they are just tea baging the killer, the matches end up lasting way longer. They need to fix this, afk killers who constantly go afk need to be banned, they are ruining the experience for me and other players, at this point i just stay in my phone waiting until i get a match where the killer is finnaly not afk

Besides the issues with the game currently given above, this also speaks to the population available. With the mass exodus of players this past summer the playerbase dropped by so much that BHVR had to loosen regional restrictions on the global servers you can connect to (which is currently causing lag issues for many players). With the Halloween Event over, more people have left. So what you're probably seeing is a similar percentage of players AFK, it's just because of the lower population you're running into them more often during some hours.

  • Playing a survivor vs the Knight is meh as well, if you're going for achievements or tome entries. Even though the guards are in a chase with you, including chase music, they don't seem to count towards things involving chases. I've tried tome entries for throw pallets in a chase, vault windows/pallets in a chase, escape chases, nothing works with them. But if they catch you or corner you they can certainly hit you and down you if injured, and aren't so slow and dim-witted as the Nemesis zombies, so I don't see why they wouldn't count.

  • @JakeCannon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/355569/perks-for-bots-where

Unfortunately none yet. They still have bugs to multiple have gotten caught on trees, and somehow last match 2 of the bots went AFK??

Sounds like a good simulation of some solo queue trials I've been in.

  • Map is free, survivor is a perk delivery skin, killer has a unique power set and perks.

I'd recommend the killer, but tbh with how much is messed up with the killer he's really not worth buying in his current state. I'd wait until BHVR does at least one post-release pass on them to hopefully make them playable beyond low MMR.

The less people buy the killer/DLC the more motivated BHVR will be to fix them to make them an attractive purchase.

I've had a teammate DC on me, because I booned a totem they wanted.

I've had a teammate DC because i saved them off hook when they wanted to suicide just because they were first on hook.

Biggest reason for the DCs over ANYTHING is the fact that BHVR changed DC penalty to 1 min from 5 min, and there's literally no punishment for them now.

DC penalty should START at 30 min.

I'll get bombarded soon with "what if I got crap internet connection?", don't queue up then. If you know your internet sucks, you know that the match experience gonna suck for everyone in it. Get your connection fixed and then queue up. I have bad internet too, and I don't freaking queue up if it's over 150-200 ping.

There's NO EXCUSES to DC other than cheaters

got super frustrated as wesker last night, 4 gens done and 1 hook. Then they thought they’d try a bunch of saves. Coming with flashlights for a save, and I picked one up at a pallet knowing they’d try to save as well (I was blocking it just enough to turn and hit him) got a 4k in the basement for sticking it out

Had something happen to me in a Lery's trial. Sweaty SWF gen rushing with stacked toolboxes. Three of them blew through three gens like they were trying to set a record, while I was in a chase with the fourth. As soon as I downed and hooked the one, the other three came out of the woodwork to try to save. So I just camped the hook and grabbed/dropped, body blocked, and smacked away potential savers until they managed a hook swap, then I camped that one.

Instead of using this time to finish the last two gens and 99% the exits, they kept at the hook. Wound up double hooking everyone, killing two survivors on two different hooks, almost bled one out on the floor while chasing the last one but got them on a hook just in time. Found/closed the hatch, and chased the last survivor from the exits until they made a mistake that put them on a hook in EGC.

Altruism kills more survivors than anything else.

Although it worked out for me in the end, if I knew what a sweaty drag that trial was going to be at the start I would've skipped it altogether. It's like playing a Legion trial as a survivor. Even if you escape it wasn't fun and doesn't feel worth it.

Can't wait for the bots to arrive. Even if they have less than stellar AI, it'll be fun just being able to play a chill game on killers I don't normally play as although they're fun they're ineffective after a certain MMR point.

    Genuinely curious.

I see this happen frequently and I don’t understand it. As soon as they flashlight and realize I have lightborn, they immediately DC or stand there and then suicide on first hook. Why?

Is the game unplayable if you can’t blind the killer?

They've no plan B or other skill. Same with sabo squads. If you really want to make them mad and DC fast, run Franklin's. Deny them the one playstyle they're good at or prepared for, they tend to have nothing else and ragequit.

Even trying to play chill on a killer and have some fun, particularly if they seem noobish, they give up. Some throw temper tantrums and run around the map throwing pallets and spamming vaults/locker doors to try to annoy the killer with the explosion sounds, instead of doing the gens and leaving.

Friday night I had a group do that for 40-50mins once all of their items decayed on the ground, including ones they pulled from chests. I parked my killer, tabbed to my browser and read the forums/watched some videos until they were done. Two DCed, after all of that, and the other two finally started doing gens. I ran around with the last two getting/giving chase points, hits/heals, hooks/unhooks, and we ended the trial with all three of us above 35k BPs before bonuses.

That's it. That's the post. just wanted to share I unlocked my last achievement today and have 100% (until the next release and new achievements come out)

That's a lot of pain and suffering.

So i'm trying to do ghostface challenges for the rift so i thought i would bring a lerys offering or game offering to help me out a bit.

Whenever i bring a map offering i'm met with a flood of "toxic killer bring offerings" comments from survivors yet if i don't bring an offering i get given a really open map like red forest and i get decimated by survivors leading to "trash killer get good" comments.

Like how are we supposed to have a fun game if no matter what we do we get hate from the other team.

Why can't everyone just play for fun these days rather than having it as "i must win no matter what and if i don't the other person is trash or toxic".

Its not just map offerings its perks you bring aswell. I was told i was the most toxic killer they had ever met because i brought franklins.

Ignore them. Besides the obvious, it drives them nuts that they can't get a rise out of you no matter what they say. It can play on their insecurities as well, making them wonder that you're not saying anything because you've already left the trial because they don't matter. Which is pretty self-evident.

It's particularly laughable what they said about Franklin's. With every SWF and even most solo players bringing in stacked items these days, I'm surprised when I come across a killer that's NOT running Franklin's. Items are there to help/support the player, not carry them. When playing killer I run Franklin's against flashlight troll groups and toolbox sabo squads, and it's funny after you hit a couple of them and knock stuff out of their hands they tend to DC.

  • I wouldn't recommend bringing a key into a trial. Killers see that and figure you're going for the hatch, so they go out of their way to make sure you die first. Survivors figure the same and will often leave you on a hook, not heal you, point you out to the killer, etc.

Better to just use a build for it. Pillager's+Appraisal+Clairvoyance+Sole Survivor is a great one for it.

Pillager's shows you where the chests are and gives you a high chance of getting a high quality item out of it (for me it was usually either red key, purple key, or red map).

Appraisal will let you search up to three chests a second time for keys, and stacks with Pillager's so whatever you pull out of it the second time will have the same chance of a high quality item as when you first opened the chest. If you get a purp/red key, hide it somewhere you can easily get to later (particularly if the killer is running Franklin's) so you're not holding it all the time to give away what you're doing, not getting it knocked out of your hand somewhere, and letting you use other items like toolboxes/med kits in the meantime. If you pull something else out, like a higher end toolbox or med kit, you can still make use of it yourself, or leave it by the chest or drop them off near gens for other survivors to use. If you pull a red map out, that can be a backup for Clairvoyance since it'll show the hatch w/o any addons.

Take out a totem early to charge Clairvoyance (this has better range than Left Behind at 64 meters vs 32, and you don't want to have the perfect setup but someone else crunched all the totems). The only difference is it's used like a map, so you'll want to get somewhere near the middle of the trial map to start, set down the key (have to be empty handed while using it), use the perk and look around. Because of the range, if you're near the middle of the map you'll often see the hatch right away. If not, pick up the key, move somewhere else, and try again. Don't use the perk more than you have to as it's limited to 10 seconds of use per cleansed totem, and can only hold one totem's charge at a time.

If other survivors die (which will likely happen no matter what, unless you're in a really good SWF), Sole Survivor will hide your aura from the killer (except Killer Instinct, so Legion trials are generally moot and PH/Nemesis/Wesker can be a pain if you're not careful) within 24 meters of the killer for every other survivor killed (at three dead it's 72 meters of aura blocking, which is about half of a large map). It also increases the speed of opening the exits and hatch by 50% (if you're the last one alive). It also increases the speed of repairing gens by 75% (again, if you're the last one alive), so if the killer camps the hatch you can 99% every remaining gen in the trial, start popping them randomly until all the needed gens are done, and the killer will have to close the hatch and start patrolling the exit gates to try to stop you. Meanwhile, you head for the hatch with the key and you're done.

You can bring a hatch offering so you know where it'll spawn (and so will the killer), which will speed up the process. If you're doing the trial with a friend, one can bring the hatch offering and the other can bring a chest offering to give you more shots at getting a key.

The nice thing about doing it this way is you don't have to farm keys from the bloodweb, bring them into a lobby to make you a target, don't have to worry so much about losing keys/farming addons to keep keys on death since you're likely to get at least one each trial, and really you don't need any hatch/chest offerings as although they help they aren't required. You also don't have to rush and potentially reveal yourself at the end, because you want the killer to find and close the hatch, then go look for you at the exits. Take it slow since you have a few minutes to reach the hatch after the killer closes it.

    Greetings, people of the fog,

I am sure that you have seen this question/issue pop-up just about a million times on the forums, yet this is still not resolved. Does anyone have any idea why this happens or what might be the cause of this?

As for me, I just randomly crash within my game or even outside of it. I am mostly greeted with the friendly neighborhood crash report and sometimes the game just closes by itself any notification or heads-up.

I have read from other posts that the root of the problem is having a tome challenge equiped. Can anyone confirm this? If not, are there any other possible ways of fixing this that worked for anyone? I already tried reinstalling, verifying integrity, etc. None of those generic solution tend to work.

I have not really heard a public statement on this from Behaviour which makes me think they are either unaware or deem this issue unworthy of their attention. After all, this issue has been going on since the Halloween update. At least for me, that is.

All in all, any suggestions would be much appreciated. Let me know about your experiences to as I am sure there are many others who are facing the same issue and are getting constant matchmaking bans because of an issue they cannot control.

No info from BHVR on it yet, but it's been popping up on the forums for the past few weeks. Seems to have started along with some other bugs when the Halloween event was launched.

For me, fortunately it's not happened in-trial too often, but it's pretty frequent otherwise. In a survivor/killer lobby waiting for a trial, when the trial pops and it's loading into the trial lobby I'll get disconnected from host errors that throw me back into the private lobby.

Loading up the game the first time for the day, it'll load into the main menu screen then crash with no error, just gone.

When moving between screens in the UI or buying stuff in the bloodweb it'll randomly crash, usually w/o error msg.

I did the same as you as far as Steam file validation, driver upgrades, Windows patches, reinstall the game, etc., with no luck.

    Pretty simple question.

If someone decides to kill themselves on the hook immediately, should I report them? I mainly ask this because there's a DC penalty and by hook suciding, they are basically DCing (prematurely quitting the game). Of course, hook sucides are contextual, and know all the different reasons as to why someone should / shouldn't hook sucide.

For example, something I would report is someone going down immediately, failed to self unhook three times, and proceeded to fail two struggle skill checks. Something I wouldn't report is someone hook suciding because it is a sweaty Nurse at 5 generators and there's already one dead with everyone on death hook. The game is already over and they acknowledged that — they are accepting their loss and moving on to the next game.

I see people talk about an automatic system, but again, an AI to detect such cases seem way too complicated and might backfire on innocent survivors who have a good reason to hook sucide. With all this said...

Is it a good idea to report survivors who hook sucide to avoid the DC penalty? Might be a stupid question, but I want to hear opinions before I go further with doing so.

Please keep it civilized and leave your emotions out of this. I just want a cool discussion from this where we can talk and see if we can reach an agreement. Thanks.

No. It's already been covered that survivors can play as altruistic or selfish as they want, and BHVR has defended that stance since the game came out. If it were otherwise, survivors wouldn't have the option to try to jump off the hook unless running certain perks.

Regardless, it wouldn't have any bearing. If someone is done with the trial, whenever that may be, they're done. Even if they were blocked from suiciding, they'd just run to the killer to be hooked again or AFK under a hook until the crows alert the killer. They're not going to do anything constructive to help.

The more annoying it becomes to leave the more passive aggressive they'd get to end the trial faster. Such as following another survivor around while sprinting to leave scratch marks, throwing pallets or fast vaulting windows/lockers near where a generator is being worked on, stopping and staring at a locker another survivor is hiding in, etc.

What's in the game right now is the best option overall. The person gets to leave, the rest of the survivors get to collect some BPs and have a shot at the hatch/exit. Move on the next trial.

  • It's been bouncing back and forth between survivor and killer pretty fast across my play time. In some cases they swap every trial.

  • @UnknownKiller said:

If its cost 13 bucks but have 2 purple rarity skins ( only obtainable buying the chapter) and a charm included?

No. Cosmetics don't influence my buying decisions at all. Perks and Killer are my interest for DLCs, since the maps are free and the survivor is just a perk delivery skin.

  • @Terion said:

Whenever i play sadako i often feel like her lunge is just not enough to hit afar, maybe im just too used with freddy, who feels like he has stretchy arms.

or is it just the animations being deceptive?

They're all supposed to be the same base amount, modified by some killer's powers and addons. In reality I've found that not to be the case, even when using killers of the same height. For example, when playing The Doctor I have to get right up on a survivor to land a hit, vs Trapper or PH.

  • There's been a bug where the last death isn't counting for the killer in trials. It's been effecting tome entries and obtaining adepts. This has been going on for several weeks, since about the time the Halloween event started.

...you are on the Hook and you see other team member(s) just walking around the map or hidding somewhere, not doing anything at all. I offten times play Kindred so everyone else can see what other Survivors are doing or if the Killer is near by. I had teammates that will just keep hidding or just walk around the map while you are on the hook and other Survivor is being chased and they don't even try to rescue you or something. Sometimes I ask myself "Why even bother playing Kindred when no one acts on the extra info they get".

    Bounce.
