As survivor it wouldn't really change: I'd keep the Head On, Quick and Quiet, and Detective's Hunch.
For the final perk, I'd probably chuck on Dance With Me to keep the synergy going.
As killer, it'd be a lot worse since I love STBFL and PGTW. I'd have Surge and Surveillance together to form the main base of my build, map control, and probably throw on Thrilling Tremours too. For the final perk, maybe Enduring since I love how it helps in a chase.
Actual builds:
Head On, Q&Q, Dance With Me, Detective's Hunch
Surve, Surveillance, Thrilling Tremours, Enduring

I know it says that, but I’ve also experienced it to work on anyone that is put into the dying state regardless of what kind of attack. Only very recently though, so it might just be some sort of bug.
that would be a bug then because like, 600 hours of using it confirms thats how it worked prior to this patch

I believe it still works if you grab, as long as they’re automatically put into the dying state. It also works on people that are downed from neglecting deep wounds.
Anyways, it’s a perfectly balanced perk and rewards you for doing good. Therefore, it’s the opposite of a crutch perk.
"Putting a Survivor into the Dying State with a Basic Attack causes all Generators within a radius of 32 metres to instantly explode and regress."
Source: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Surge
Note the wording- it does have to be a basic M1.
EDIT: this is also definitely true from my own experience with the perk (using it in my regular build)

I'd ######### love Velma in the game lol.

God damn it I wanted that fridge.

You're choosing to screw over your teammates just because you refuse to play the map. emphasis on *you* choosing not to play hence it being a you problem.
Thank you lol

Could even add that it changes the struggle to skill checks and each time they fail the skill check it gets faster in the hook progression (but the skill checks from MS will not be effected by madness or any perks that mess with skill checks)
I feel like that'd be going overboard with perk effects tbh, MS would do too much

Thank you lol

As a Freddy main please do keep thinking he's overrated so he doesn't get changed and may even be buffed. Please.

Refusing to play that map and going afk whenever you see it, sounds like a you problem there.

Again, still sounds like a you problem sis.

The perk imo is in an amazing spot right now. Similar to Pop Goes The Weasel, it rewards the killer for doing well and allows them to make decisions based on information they're given. Early game? You can slug and get more pressure, or force an early Unbreakable. Mid-game? A hook state might be more worth it. End game? Obviously that's a slug lmao.
It's strong, but not too obnoxious. Even on, say, Doctor with a massive terror radius, that's still at least 1 add-on slot, and 2 perk slots (infectious and Distressing, often 3 with Monitor and Abuse too) used to get max value from the perk.
If you're finding that much issue with it, run calm spirit. "Oh but calm spirit is useless!" no it counters this perk completely, and if you hate it that much adapt your build to cover for it.
Also how can you call this perk a crutch when NOED literally exists lmfao.
-
Personally I enjoy it but I wouldn't mind a few QOL changes to make getting upstairs easier.
If you wanna dc on that map every time, that sounds like a you issue tbh. Also, I have a feeling Konami influenced the design of that map to lean more towards aesthetics than gameplay.

What about every time you hook a survivor the basement is blocked for 30 seconds
If we're being serious here:
Monstrous Shrine:
Your fervant care of the hooks surrounding the map has aroused the interest of The Entity.
Monstrous Shrine is applied to all hooks on the map. Hooked survivors can no longer attempt to escape, and will have their hook states progress 15% faster.
Hooking a survivor prevents entry or exit to the Basement for 20/25/30 seconds, and all survivors in the basement will scream.
[For clarification, that 15% faster hook state progression is equal to 9 seconds, compared to the 9% (or ~5.4 seconds) we have currently.]
-
@Kebek said:
I can't wait for my Deja vu to finish first few gens by itself for me and Monstorous shrine to make hooks attacks survivors that come near them.
Survivors that enter the basement for the first time are automatically hooked. Basement Bubba suddenly became the best build in the game.
-
Okay, so, I haven't tried it but since Black Box forces the obsession to remain asleep at all times, including the start of the trial, this should instantly put the obsession to sleep as soon as you're stunned or blinded.
Thanks for the idea lol
-
No. This is beautiful.
-
This seems to do with servers and when I have it happen to me it's usually because the killer's playing either from Mercury or Mars, I can't quite tell.
-
I mean, if he's teleporting when a gen is blocked by Dead Man's Switch or if the gen is completed, he's able to continue the teleport. I don't see why Repressed Alliance would be any different. Were the interaction with DMS/Completed Gens changed in the future, then I'd expect this to be the case with Repressed Alliance too.
-
I'd have to say Freddy, because I play him like 60% of matches (with the extra 40% being split 30:10 Doc:Wraith). He was the first killer I played, first killer I made it to rank 1 with, first p3 50, first all perks. Then he got reworked and suddenly because pretty danm strong.
As survivor, I'd have to say Claudette. It used to be David and I still love the man with all my heart, but I'm cursed in that if I don't wear a shirt I don't get a life. She was also my first p3 50, first character I levelled at all, first all perks, Blendette is still my favourite thing to play (although I do try and be useful to the team lol).
-
My personal build includes:
Pop Goes The Weasel (the best killer perk imo).
Save The Best For Last (this perk helps most M1 killers in a chase and you can recover faster).
Infectious Fright (this is basically your win con, doctor is very good for slugging due to being able to trap people in T3 and preventing them picking up the slugs, and being able to combine this with STBFL gives so much snowball potential).
Barbeque and Chili (this is an incredibly good tracking perk, and doc is a bloodpoint ######### so double bp is beautiful).
Add-on wise, the best ones imo include High Stimulous Electrode (increases your range at no cost) and then either Iridescent King (for obvious reasons) or "Discipline"- Carter's Notes.
I say that because it decreases the shock detonation delay by 0.3 seconds, and if I remember correctly the detonation delay is something like 1.5 seconds at base. It doesn't sound like much but they're still shocked for the full 2.5 seconds and it's actually game changing.
Imo nurses isn't very good on doc since they removed Snap Out Of It as a healing action. It is a pretty good perk overall on everyone ever, but I'd suggest using other perks which play to his strength of easy tracking and better chases.

OMG I love you. this is exactly how I play. I just want to have a good time, that's why I play this game.
I'm glad there are other people out there who play like that :)

The thing is, the purple Key can allow even 3 Survivors to escape. Three left, two escape with the Key, last Survivor escapes because the Hatch is open.
I would like to remove the Hatch-Part completely and make it an Add On or give it to the Skeleton Key for 1 Escape or when the Killer closed the Hatch. Something like that.
The issue with this suggestion is there's an achievement where you gotta have all 4 survivors escape from a hatch you opened, so one of the keys has to be able to let at least 3 out.
-
As a survivor? I consider it a win if I had fun without being toxic.
As a killer? I consider it a win if I get a 2k. Without tunneling, camping, playing as fair as possible, trying to ensure everyone has fun, because hearing someone had fun is much better for me than knowing I had fun at the cost of a fat Ebony and a silent-bell Wraith (or ForeverFreddy(tm) or Insta-shock Doc).
-
Because of how they're bugged, gateus are personal and don't stack with other players. Therefore they would have had no outcome on your bloodpoint total since you used none.
-
Okay so I'm having this exact same issue right now, this game makes me want to curl up in a ball and cry 99% of the time (yet i keep playing D:).
I keep going through a few ways:
-Play with good friends; they're not always available but having some amazing friends to play with, or even just screen share and have them in a voice call while playing, is so much more fun than playing alone. Everything is much more fun like this.
-Play with music in the background; not necessarily as killer but definitely as survivor. Blast some trashy pop, scream to some harcore metal, flashlight click to the beat of electro or swing your camera around to some house, doesn't matter. Just have something to focus on apart from dbd and how it's making you feel.
-As killer, use people you know you can play well, especially at higher ranks. Same with survivor- use people with perks. Going in fully equipped and ready is so much better than a level 30 Billy, where your best perk is Make Your Choice.
-Play Blendette/immersed. As stupid as this sounds, and as fun as chases are, sometimes it's just much more fun to remain hidden. Hiding in the locker you just jumped into with Quick and Quiet, watching the killer lose your scratch marks (then when they cotton on you yeet out with head on :D) is some of the most fun I've had in literally years. Even if it's not usually your thing, give it a shot, it's honestly a lot more fun than you'd think.
If you play PC in Europe, I'd be happy to play some matches with you to try and help you have fun. Escaping is always more fun than dying, after all.
Good luck man, and props to you for always trying to remain positive <3
(also that week long break may help a lot).

Let's start with Realistic Perk Descriptions: (Changes are in bold)
- Hex: Devour Hope - When a Survivor is rescued from a hook at least 24 meters away, Devour Hope receives a token.
- 2 Tokens: Gain a 5% Haste status effect, 10 seconds after hooking a Survivor, for a duration of 10 seconds.
- 3 Tokens: Survivors suffer from the Exposed status effect. Devour Hope will be cleansed just as you are about to hit a survivor.
- 5 Tokens: Grants the ability to kill Survivors by your own hand. Survivors who are hooked will attempt to escape the hook and stop struggling if they fail to.
- The Hex effect persists as long as the Hex Totem is standing.
----
- Boil Over: Your struggling effects on The Killer are increased by 75%. You obsucre The Killer's ability to see hook auras within 14 meters. There is a 50% chance for a hook to spawn next to you when put into the dying state. The Killer will teleport to the nearest hook when the struggle meter reaches 99%.
----
- Mettle of Man: After you earn 3 Protection Hit scoring events, Mettle of Man Activates. Once activated, the next occasion that would put you into the dying state from the injured state is ignored. The next time you heal back to full health, your aura will be revealed to the killer when you are further than 16 meters from the killer. Mettle of Man will deactivate the next time your are put into the dying state.
- Increases your chances to be the Killer's Obsession.
- The Killer can only be obsessed with one survivor at a time.
- Removes the ability to score Protection Hits.
That Mettle of Man one hits too close to home
- Hex: Devour Hope - When a Survivor is rescued from a hook at least 24 meters away, Devour Hope receives a token.

I mean, if the problem is how it’s obtained, then they should make a system where everyone can get it, BUT they have to grind for it. Like an extra 3 prestige levels or something. Then if they give legacy back to those people who lost it, the others can still get it with a bit of work.
The difference being that the grind was so massive on a game nobody knew would succeed. It was unbalanced to #########, the grind was like 100x worse, level 10 looked like level 50, and it was meant as a reward to those who'd prestiged and grinded and supported the game even though nobody thought it would succeed.
The only time I'd support legacy being returned is when the very last person loses it.

I didnt say you couldnt be hit, of courtse you can get hit, but vaults literally were adjusted in favor of survivors not that long ago so not sure what else people want. Oh I got it if you can be hit at all theres a problem. gotcha
I just wanna not be hit whilst I'm literally running away from the window and a normal lunge couldn't get me. Which is what the devs are hoping to fix with server sided hits.
What OP wants with windows being making you immune? No thank you.
-
@DrDeepwound said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1395386#Comment_1395386
they gave survivors momentum when vaulting, it wasnt always like this,... killers miss more now than in the past. It was addressed long ago when they changed vaulting in favor of survivors.
You can still be hit mid vault animation and through the window though? As intended? It's just the 2m hits away when you've finished the animation and are runni g that people have issue with though?
-
This is a known bug, the endgame screen is showing incorrect results, particularly if you last-second switch.
-
Afaik you actually have to be 2 hooked then escape. It's a pain in the ass but I lucked out and got it my 3rd try.
Dwight's Fright though. That challenge scarred me.
-
I'd say the comments have been pretty good here. Stick on STBFL instead of something there (my best thing being nurses but imo whispers isn't needed on him at all, you got your static blast for that or hopefully seeing someone, and after that you're free rolling with madness).
If you ever expand on DLC, my perk picks are PGTW, STBFL, Infectious Fright, and BBQ and Chili. In that order to get.
-
Because I, personally, don't feel like dbd and FNAF would fit. One comes from psychological horror and jumpscares, one is based off of slashers. Sure, stranger things (which I also didn't think would fit but somehow does slightly) but I (yes, me, myself, my opinion) don't think it would work.
Of course I could be completely wrong.
Also it'd have to be a paragraph, since we know the looks of absolutely 0 night guards. Or based off of the books, which Scott confirmed to not be 100% linked to the main plot of the games (though still canon).
-
Sometimes this game still manages to surprise me with what the bugs can achieve.
Edit: unless this is some sick new hack to not have a game? In which case the ######### is the point lol?
-
I feel awkward but I'm missing nobody.
Can I play them all though? Goodness no.

i think the killer playerbase would plummet if they fixed latency tbh
Depends, I'd still play because it means a) ill be blinded by survivors ACTUALLY on my screen instead of when they're literally behind me, and b) grabs may work now.

great to know they've "expressed interest" rather than actually doing anything
They expressed interest in fixing maps, some maps were fixed. Expressed interest in buffing clown, clown was buffed next patch with probably more on the way.
If the devs left these servers like they were then I'd be pretty ######### sad.
