Killers are meant to be able to hit survivors through windows. It's when you get hit, like you said, from 2m away it feels very bullshit.
Devs have expressed interest in fixing, or helping, this through making hits Server sided and improving servers in general.
-
This has always been the case since Tombstone Piece reduces your Evil Within back to T2. Try it with Judith's Tombstone instead.

CMDs are monitoring your ping every second. had it turned on whole game and there was no spikes. And in other games its fine.
it could be mistaken, is all i can guess. it could be that your connection to the dbd servers is pretty unstable (which is also an issue on their end too), or something is going wrong in the middle.
i aint no techie so my advice is pretty limited, but usaully when i have internet issues i switch it off for a minute, wait 3 for it to reboot and im set for a day.
-
exhaustion perks are not required to play dbd and you can have success as a solo survivor without any perks.
they're strong and valuable, yes. they make games easier, yes. but the only two perks i'd even consider anywhere near required are kindred and DS, and even then you can live without them both.
-
this seems like it may be your end, despite what CMDs say, if other people are fine and you're not. it could be your ISP hates having a stable connection and your ping likes to jump from 36 to 360 then back to 36 (which is what happens with mine quite frequently).
-
The thing with huntress, is you don't play against her like she throws a hatchet. You play against her like she throws seven fridges lined up top-to-bottom, or a bus. Since her hitbox isn't a hatchet, it's a beachball.

This game isnt dying anytime soon. This game was supposed to "die" multiple times by now.
Remember when F13: The Game, Last Year: The Nightmare, Res:e Resistence, Hide or Die, and Predator: Hunting Grounds were meant to decimate this game?
-
I wanna go back to some more originals with fun, unique powers. Don't get me wrong, Pyramid Daddy is amazing and I love him (and his ass) with all my heart, but imagine how creative they could be with a killer that, say, controls time, or summons familiars to assist in a chase, or a mad scientist inflicting different debuffs, or a killer where you choose how you want to play at what time (example reduced movement speed but you insta-down, then you can change to a massive boost in speed but you cant hit people, then the default 115 m1, then a fourth ability to hinder repair progress). Hell that second idea could relate to tarot cards and then we could have a killer to interact with Ace's lore too if we wanted.
If it had to be a licensed killer though (and bearing in mind I'm not big on horror at all), I'd say something from The Shining/Doctor Sleep (some of the only horror films I've ever seen lol). IT wouldn't be bad but I see some massive issues with lore, most other large names I know are already in the game. Xenomorph would be epic but h e l l a expensive.

Aftercare is his other perk yes. But Jeff is one of the few survivors to have actually interacted with the killer they released with.
Breakdown could be good if hooks were not so close to each other
Distortion is the perk that has a chance of getting used
Yeah I agree his lore is cool (but his killer ain't lol). Aftercare isn't too bad, distortion is fun, but yeha breakdown needs some hardcore supeebuff to be viable lol.
-
Nah I don't think it's that scummy if they farmed all game. They're just getting more points for them since it's impossible to get 8k sacrifice without a 4k (or some hardcore EGC hooking).

oww ye i forgot about the perks, but i still like the IDEA of mount ormond we all wanted a snow map and we got it but its just awful lol. But ye i just like the legion as an idea and their lore, plus it brought jesus into dbd
The IDEA of Ormond is cool. The fact it introduced C-walls and spawns jungle gym into jungle gym into safe filler pallet into jungle gym into safe filler pallet into shack though, ######### this map.

jeff is the only good thing to come out of that chapter
Honestly I'm not his biggest fan but I wouldn't call him bad. Distortion is fun, breakdown is ######### though, and I don't even remember his third perk but I think it might be aftercare? His outfits are nothing spectacular (although with the crown he finally gets a Jesus cosmetic lol), but he's hardly bad.
Shake the rest of his chapter is utter #########.
-
I won't say you're wrong cause I kinda like this interpretation of it.
-
In my opinion Inner Strength. It's so good, and criminally underrated, but doesn't deserve a nerf because, the more popular it gets, the weaker the perk becomes. ESPECIALLY if you or someone else on your team is running Soul Guard.
-
Darkness Among Us.
I don't care about my hatred for Spirit, it brought original Legion who is arguably about 50x worse to face (not better, just worse to face). It brought Mount Ormond Resort, and I think that's enough said by itself (even though, again, bloodline brought Yamaoka so :/)
Also it brought the worst survivor bug ever. Killers were just invisible. Only thing you could see was the stain and there was no fix, just praying a restart helped. This persisted till at least the January mid-chapter, if not the Plague release. It was atrocious.
Darnkess Among Us, then Shattered Bloodline. They're close, but the bugs from DAU is what tops Bloodline imo.
-
Yes.
Source: I found about 19 on Hawkins once
-
Honestly I like fnaf but I wouldn't really want it in dbd. I feel like they're 2 completely different franchises and wouldn't mesh (though that can kinda be argued about stranger things, I do see how they linked slightly).
Edit: Also you want to give MORE skins to legion? Please, no; doctor, wraith, (if licensing is sorted out) Freddy, Nurse- more killers deserve new skins more than Legion do.
-
I feel like these may come with map reworks, example Lèry's and Badham have some of the best dpsens in the game (and some of the worst lol). In storehouse there's this one spot in the middle where the totem is hidden in the debris on the shelves and honestly it's so cool.
-
I honestly can't comment, STBFL is one of my favourite killer perks so there's usually an obsession and I don't think I've taken off DS since it's rework back last March. Though I haven't seen much less of it since I'm not usually hit by it.
-
No, sorry, I disagree completely. Frank and Joey you stand a chance getting me to say yes to tho.
But I'd never leave main man David.
-
Well to hopefully cheer things up slightly here's my very un-cheery take on it.
So imo my power would be taking something good and turning it bad. Example, trap gens for a certain amount of time to make survivors who work on them actually regress them, or trap hooks so instead of just unhooking someone, you take one point of damage. The trade off being that I physically can't run anywhere due to me having less than optimal stamina so I'd be a 110% at BEST. Also if a David has no shirt on I'd be physically incapable of harming him (but insta mori those with a shirt >:C)
Alternatively I'd ride around on a unicorn. I don't know what I'd do with it, but I would. Because, well, unicorns are cool.

I wish the rift didn't encourage pay to play. I have challenges for characters I do not own or challenges for perks I do not have. Can't the rift just make challenges for what you own in your inventory?
The Tomes are based upon specific characters and their lore. So far we've had Claudie, Davey, Dweet, Kate, and Jane. At the start each (paid) character goes on sale, and their perks are available on the Shrine for the first week when needed for challenges. They're not randomised because it needs to corrispond to each character's lore, and so they use the characters/their perks for these challenges.
It's as far from P2P as you can get without literally giving away the characters for free (which you can kinda get for free with shards).

Honestly I don't like Kenny but I remember watching a friend play season 1 & 2 of TWD and wouldn't mind it. Kinda feel bad for Lilly but I feel like she could be a decent killer (idk she went off went insane and cannibalised walkers, again haven't seen further so if she makes a grand re-appearance I wouldn't know).
I'd prefer Clementine, Ben, or Lee tbh. Idk why for Ben but I feel like Clem and Lee are very obvious.

It's full of survivor mains too. Wanna see how many NOED threads I see a day?
Probably just more people complain about DS because you see DS four times more often than you would NOED. Also unlike NOED, DS cannot be removed before it activates unless you just take it to the face, use a mori, or play Pyramid Head.
Also, I would preface that some people who play survivor or both roles like me, still think that DS needs to be retuned to not be an "anti momentum" perk.
Just a bit confused about your last statement, "think that DS needs to be retuned to not be an "anti momentum" perk.". Is this implying DS used to not be anti-momentum and you want it reverted, or that you want the entire effect changed to not be anti-momentum and make DS a completely different perk?
-
Yes, you can. I don't know if the devs ban for it (they used to) but Steam like to ban people for this if the game is an online-multiplayer game and uses Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC).
I know this because a friend got VAC banned for hacking the Evil Incarnate Achievement.
-
Imo Freddy is a great spot rn in terms of strengths and doesn't need anything more. I wouldn't mind my Main Man getting a nice QOL but like, I'd rather they buff other killers instead.

Yeah because rank 4 means you are good..
It should mean you're better than a rank 12. I know I'm rank 1 and nowhere near good at the game, died in like 3 minutes vs Scorpionz, but that's cause I usually face rank 4 killers and better. There's an 11 rank difference there.
-
purposely letting people escape after having not hurt them at all all game over the course of several games, yes that's working with the killer. Doing it once? Not really. Not wanting them to escape but they outplayed you? Not at all.
-
The devs said they'd be exclusive. Circumstances changed and they backed down on that decision because so many people that did grind for them lost them. Then they were released to everyone because the devs couldn't accurately give everyone back their lost cosmetics. This all happened because of a storage failure and current event cosmetics are stored in a much safer way. If you don't want to grind in the hopes this happens again, then be my guest and don't. Just don't be upset if you don't recieve them later.

@Peanits if you don't mind the tag, is there something I'm missing here or is this a bug? If it is, am I able to contact support to receive these cosmetics, using the VODs as proof of me playing and logging in during that time?

I logged in first thing and didnt get Claudette shirt. When I relogged in after 11(I think) it was there.
I've been playing from like 10:30pm BST to 2-4am BST every day- apparently that's about 5:30pm - 9:00pm (or in case of 4am, 11pm). So I should have been lol

Why do people act like corn blindness is a real thing? I've never had issues with it as killer.
My eyes aren't all too good and I'm pretty awful at tracking. Usually I rely on LOS, sounds, and blood, since I'm bad at following scratches.
Just because you don't have an issue doesn't mean nobody does. I can't see well through corn at all, I lose survivors easily, and if you just crouch down in front of me chances are I'll lose you since sounds don't work correctly (unless you're injured in which case I can see blood, maybe). I hope the devs change these maps to make them more enjoyable for both sides- effectively stealthing around a structure is much more fun than crouching in a cornfield, and it's a lot better to see someone stealthing around a building and be like "hoho you sneaky bastard imma catch you" instead of just "oh they were crouching the entire time."

We’ve observed a growing Community concern about matchmaking in recent months. Matchmaking wait times have exceeded our targeted limits and we’ve seen rank disparities fluctuate. In this Status Update, we will go in details on factors impacting the matchmaking, our current matchmaking system and our future solutions.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/793/ZSC8B6CPRDCP.png
Above are the three variable factors in matchmaking, with a fourth being the number of players on each role, with an ideal ratio of 4 survivors for 1 killer at all times. When dealing with matchmaking, we need to decide how much to focus on each of the factors. If we focus on one point, the other points will see some sort of impact. For example, if we focus on time, your matches will likely end up being less fair, and you might get paired with people further away. Dedicated servers have helped us ensure a stable connection, with over 90% of players being put into matches with 150 ping and under. Our goal is to get you into a match as quickly as possible with a good connection, without compromising too much on fairness.
This is a difficult task in a game like Dead by Daylight, where both sides have different objectives and cannot be directly compared to one another. We’ve attempted to address this in the past with the Emblem system, but upon further review, we’ve concluded that rank does not directly correlate to skill. While a player who plays a lot will tend to be better than someone who plays very little, there are also players who are good at the game but don’t play enough to reach the upper ranks.
To help improve with the fairness factor without sacrificing wait times or pings, we will be making two changes. The first is a new system to better reflect a player’s skill level, and the second is a change to the matchmaking system to create fairer matches.
Going forward, we will use a hidden skill rating for matchmaking purposes. Your skill rating will increase when you do well and decrease when you do poorly. To keep this as fair as possible, the system will predict the outcome of the match based on the difference in your opponent(s) rating and adjust the amount your rating changes:
- If your rating is higher than your opponent(s), your rating will increase less if you win and drop more if you lose.
- If your rating is lower than your opponent(s), your rating will increase more if you win and drop less if you lose.
This way, even if you aren’t perfectly matched with people of the exact same skill level, your rating will not change unfairly.
In the future, we would like to extend this system to support different ratings for each killer, allowing you to practice a new killer without being immediately matched against high skilled players. This may not be included in the initial launch of the feature.
Additionally, to make sure that your matches are as fair as possible, we will be switching over to “batch matchmaking”.
Currently, our matchmaking system takes the player in queue and looks for a match close to their rank. If it is unable to find an appropriate match, it will gradually expand the search range until it is able to give you a match. This can lead to both unfair matches and long queue times.
The new batch matchmaking will instead pool a larger number of players together, compare their skill levels, and then create the fairest matches possible simultaneously. With a larger pool to pick from, we hope to improve the fairness factor of matchmaking while also keeping pings and wait times low.
The release of these changes will be gradual. With the release of the mid-chapter update, we are able to start tracking skill levels. For the time being, this is only a test and is not being used for matchmaking purposes. Once we are confident that the skill rating is working as intended, we will be running tests on live servers.
When this happens, you may notice some disparity in ranks during your matches. This is to be expected as rank will no longer be used for matchmaking purposes at this time. To avoid confusion, we are considering removing ranks from the post-match scoreboard once testing is complete, as they will no longer be relevant to matchmaking. Ranks will remain visible only to you for bragging rights and a goal to work towards, but will be a reflection of your dedication to the game rather than skill for the time being.
We are confident that these changes will allow us to create fairer matches without losing sight of our goals; to get you into a match as soon as possible with a solid connection. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on our progress as we move forward.
Two
Devs said this should be ready on June. Let's hope they were right.
Three
You died to a rank 12 at rank 4, yikes. No offence but, uh, yikes.
Four

Then you're luckier than me :)
I got DSed far frequent when playing as Oni lol.. Downed people so fast that i got confused and get DS for tunnelling.
I mainly play Freddy with Wraith and Doc on the side when I wanna spice things up a bit- I prefer applying pressure through fear to touch a gen (hi surveillance I love you) rather than kill rushing people. I find it much more fun to make people suffer than it is to just kill em off.
-
I get dsed, but not very often. I've been playing the game since 2017. Usually I like to slug people I know have been unhooked (unless they play the same character, then idk lol). It's possible to apply pressure and not hook people.
Guess I'm not veteran enough though.

Maps I love:
Hawkins
The Game
Lèry's
DDS
Maps I hate:
Anything that exists under "Autohaven Wreckers". I don't like the look, too many pallets not enough windows, pallets are obnoxiously safe, you can be seen through jungle gym tiles.
Mothers Dwelling. It's too damn big for its own good, the infinite still opens, and goddamn they need to fix tile spacing and delete C-walls again.
Haddonfield. Need I explain?
Anything that exists under "Yamaoka Estate (in particular, family residence needs to die and Sanctum needs to get tile spacing sorted, bamboo sorted, and C-walls need to be deleted).
Mount Ormond Resort. The entire map is one big loop and 2 days ago I managed to find a variation (as wraith lol) that went jungle gym (long wall) into filler into jungle (C-wall) into jungle (long wall) onto filler into jungle (short wall) into filler into shack. I mean seriously, what the ######### Richard.
