Honestly the rifts aren't worth getting.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. In my opinion, they are only worth getting if you really like the skins in them. Me, I liked the skins, so I got it.

I came back after not playing for like 2yrs and have been no life-ing it again.

Decided to play my fav killer the nurse i have no idea what you did to ruin her but you did. Ive played tons before writing this NOBODY plays nurse anymore. I tried it just feels hopeless when you play as her as if you lost before it even began. Killers are supposed to be strong anyone who cries over it should just play customs tbh. I miss seeing the nurse as a survivor....

All i see now are killers with lots of movement speed can still be fun to play against as a survivor until you get a cannibal that camps every hook an 1 shot everyone lol yet you nerf the nurse who took actual skill to be top tier.

Imo id rather die to a nurse which takes skill to play even if she was op you still had to be good at playing her. Rather than some killer who has crazy amount of movement speed and dashes can catch any survivor. Nurse you had to time your blinks right otherwise youll just be blinking into a wall or infront of a pallet.

In the end if anyone reads this if you think im wrong vs some reds and purples while youre playing the nurse see how it goes. Then after you lose 10 times in a row play a diff killer and see how much easier it is (other than spirit she's lacking as well)

Don't spout nonsense after coming back from being gone from the game for 2 years. If you don't know anything, just zip it and get updated on things before you complain.

For his addons, I'll just give some notes on what I feel like should be changed or anything particularly weak/bad (ignoring the obligatory "oh weaker power but more BP" addon). That or just ones I find interesting.

Rare Addon #5: Just say "hit with a dagger" if it applies with both front or back. The fact it's 60 seconds feels a bit much, though, since addons with the same function on similar killers are only 15-30 seconds.

Very Rare Addon #3: Jesus ######### that's just...holy hell, that sounds incredibly strong. Maybe I'm overestimating how many gens it can effect or how long 2 minutes actually is but it's basically an extra pop + thrilling use.

Ultra Rare Addon #2: Seems terribly weak. Giving up 2 daggers and your ability to find them for a limited aura reading doesn't sound the best.

Ultra Rare Addon #1: Actually sounds interesting and yet somewhat limited by the fact your blink is basically four meters. Not sure what to change but it feels iffy.

Very Rare Addon #1: I'm just having a hard time understanding how useful that would be on a killer like this. I'm not sure it would even really have a use?

The rest are typical number tweaking addons or other minor things, so there's mostly fine.

Alright, so I will tell you what I initially had in mind for these add-ons and why they came out the way they did. I'm loving discussions like these.

Very Rare Add-on #3: The most overpowered of them all, and it's not even Ultra Rare quality. Despite it being overpowered, it has a 2 minute cooldown (which, in theory, is quite a long time, if you ever used Any Means Necessary, for example) and it can only be used on the generators revealed in green, otherwise known as: generators that 3 or more people can work on. Essentially, this is a powerful version of PGTW to push back gen-rushing that is being done on generators that more than 2 people can access, such as the 4-man generators in the middle of Coldwind Farm. An effect that is fit for a perk but placed in an add-on is seen on The Blight, as he has an add-on that does literally what Hex: Blood Favor does with the pallets, only difference being is that it's less reliable.

Very Rare Add-on #1: I can imagine a number of ways this being useful. Imagine looping someone in the shack. Combining Very Rare Add-on #1 with Ultra Rare Add-on #2 can have an interesting & powerful effect. See below for the effect of Ultra Rare Add-on #2. As you might already know, one of The Blight's very rare add-ons turns him Undetectable while rushing. This is kind of it, but instead it's a beacon that turns you invisible. If you want to be toxic, you can throw a dagger at a hooked survivor and camp it with Undetectable, without having to equip Insidious.

Ultra Rare Add-on #2: Imagine a survivor taking out a dagger and dropping it, but they don't know that The Vigilante has this add-on equipped. He can instantly find these careless survivors, because that's what the add-on does: It reveals survivors in a small range, continuously.

Ultra Rare Add-on #1: Sounded like a cool concept in my head, since The Blight has a pallet-breaking add-on. In this case, this add-on also injures a survivor when you dash through them. Dashing for The Vigilante is essentially pulling a "nothing personal, kid" despite it having a 4 meter range only.

Rare Add-on #5: Gotcha'. Can lower this to 30. Might've been over the top with this one, to be honest.

  • @JackFrostMan said:

Kinda wished we could see your perks but onto the powers and how I feel about them from a "on paper" stance

Vendetta Daggers: I personally feel iffy about the forward/back thing since I feel like that could lead to a lot of nonsense (I mean, look at huntress hatchet hitboxes for why). The poisoned effect feels like a very delayed deep wounds type situation and I'm not sure how much of an effect it would have compared to deep wounds.

Lightning Dash: I feel like this could either be the best part of his kit or just a weird gimmick. It is basically a very limited blink but on someone with a movement speed faster than survivor's. Sounds interesting but it's a bit hard of thinking on how many situations it would have a use in.

Also the fact it's the vendetta guy cracks me up. The two ideas are somewhat solid stuff you can mess with but imagining a guy with that mask running around is just funny.

Thanks for the short review! I like coming up with ideas a lot, even if some may sound stupid, so I don't take into consideration the bad side of the game, such as bad hitboxes. Whenever a Survivor is running away from you, they always face front, so likely the dagger might land in the back 90% of the time. If, however, it lands in the front, it's not as bad as if it were in the back, but it's still punishing. Taking out the dagger injures you, but leaving it in also does.

I'm going to keep refining this idea. So far, the most fun I've had was with the Add-ons. In my head, I could imagine certain amazing plays with a few of his would-be add-ons.

    She can’t mindgame at all

    • she can’t fake her power due to the cooldown.
    • Survivors can always bloody see her, so hiding the red stain is utterly pointless.
    • Pretty much everyone is running Spine Chill.

Soooo she's a balanced and fair killer! Time to go home.

  • I expect nothing less from someone with an anime profile picture, no matter the platform.

  • Is this a cryptic message?

  • What- No. That's not what I meant. Buff both roles, or nerf both roles whenever it's needed. But having 4 perks on both roles currently is very good and balanced, and it should stay that way.

I basically had no perks on my first game as I never got to use Dragon’s Grip as people kept hiding immediately after being exposed lol. I was expecting to get dominated, but his map pressure is insane. They only got 2 generators completed which is not something I expected.

My next couple of matches were against SWF where I got a 3K (last survivor got the hatch) and a 2K (I let one person escape as I felt sorry for them, as they were a solo with a 3-man lol).

I actually had a lot of fun as him and I can tell he’ll be an absolute beast when I have generator slow down perks on him.

I really want Tinkerer, PGTW, Surveillance and Dragon’s Grip.

How is everybody else finding the new killer?

I like Blight so much that he's my defacto main.

Why do you want to bully noobs??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Yeah, let's slow down generators even more, or even TAKE AWAY the survivor's main objective, so that they have the most unfun game ever, and they shall never escape!

  • I made a similar post a day or so ago.

...And you people want Spine Chill nerfed against Undetectable Killers? Please...

I feel like the DbD community needs that sometimes, especially this forum. e.e

Oh, yes. Definitely, I agree with you on that one.

  • Wholesome.

  • The way I look at Dead Hard is this:

As a Killer, fair, but infuriating if you swing and they time it right.

As a Survivor, unfair, because most of the times it doesn't even work.

  • @Terro said:

What's the point of complaining about anything then? You'll forget it all eventually anyways. If some1 slaps you in the face, knocks your phone to the ground and kicks you, you'll probably forget it within a month too.

Are you comparing being actually honestly hurt in real life to forgetting about a change in a video game? Uncool.

  • @BastardKing said:

This would change up the meta in terrible ways the game is not prepared for; currently, good killers break good pallets and leave bad ones. If the survivor stays at a bad pallet, they go down, so they run for better ones. They are balancing maps better so that there are less 'god pallets' and less extremely good ones where it is extremely difficult to play around. If a survivor leaves a loop with the pallet still down, the killer will too.

If Any Means Necessary is base, killers have to break every pallet, which means the ability becomes more moot than it already is, which means killers have to waste even MORE time. Nothing needs to be done about dropped pallets. They are meant to be an EXPENDABLE resource. The killers don't exist just to have pallets dropped on their heads.

Usually if I don't break pallets as a killer, I'm more screwed than rather screwing the survivors with it, unsafe pallet or not.

  • @KIKI_ said:

One thing is forgetting about something, and another thing is given up on something. I personally did not complain about any change, but i'm pretty sure some people just gave up on complaining.

But why did they give up? Do you feel like they gave up because it got no recognition and the complaining was useless, or something?

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1664797#Comment_1664797

Balance isn't always add and take away. If one side has too much add and you take away, you don't add more to compensate.

What if I had two fish tanks with different needs and requirements? I don't dump the same amount of food in both. One tank could become overloaded and grow algae everywhere.

So what did you have in mind? Ruin? Ok, but that requires ANOTHER survivor nerf.

Nah, not exactly Ruin. Ruin is fine.

Just... Any perk that's "overused." An eye for an eye.

Spine Chill is pretty good in my opinion. I don't see people using it in my matches as the killer, for some reason, and I don't see myself using it either since I've got better perks in mind.

  • Imma pull a "whataboutism" and say that if you're gonna rework Spine Chill, then rework/nerf a killer perk that's always in every killer's build.

  • @azame said:

It's just that how are these guys even considered "high rank." It confuses me. Then they can't do anything productive. It makes me consider becoming a killer main because then I dont have to have bad teammates holding me back.

Been there, done that, although I still try to play both roles equally. Currently I'm Rank 1 on killer, somehow, and I constantly keep de-pipping as survivor. I don't mean to derail the conversation but I guess this just shows that playing as killer is somewhat slightly easier than survivor, and then there's of course what you said: you don't have to worry about getting bad teammates.

  • They could buff Lullaby by making the Hex itself only appear if the Killer has hooked someone.

Kind of like NOED, which NOED only appearing when all generators are repaired.

  • To be honest, I've had my most fun in this game while:

    1. Playing as a killer and getting a 4k.
    2. Playing as a survivor, solo, with random perk builds (created by the DBD bot in my Discord server).

But I can see where you're getting at. Randoms during your solo matches are rarely ever amazing. There's been only one time where I was playing solo and I was just absolutely baffled by the amazing team-play these guys did... Turns out they were SWF and I was the only one solo, but we still pulled off such a great play that even the Trapper we were up against was confused and amazed, despite him trying to camp and tunnel us. This was the only time I had an unreal amount of fun during solo, but other than that, I tend to not get upset about solo unless I actually get worthless teammates, such as the ones you mentioned: leaving you to die when they have all the chances to rescue you, etc.

  • I stopped running DS. If I get tunneled and camped for 3 games straight though, I'll equip it instantly to prevent that happening.

  • @MadLordJack said:

People dont suck at solo, people suck in general. That's just how the matchmaking works, because otherwise killers would rarely win as anyone except Spirit or Nurse.

Comms just tell people what to do, not how to do it.

Edit: and if you want to prepare for anything, here's your build: DS/UB/SG/DH. Need to do gens? Do them in the killers face. Need unhooks? Gotcha covered. Killer has map pressure? Not anymore. Ruin up? Who cares.

Well you're certainly not a people person. Lmao.

"People suck in general." I feel you, friend.

  • @PyroGL said:

I know there have been many threads with feedback regarding the Rift, but I feel like I need to express my own concerns about the Rift and my future with DBD. To put it simply, the current system of near constant Rifts being active is making me want to quit playing DBD altogether. I have completed each of the first 3 Rifts with 1-2 weeks of time remaining. In each case, I completed the Archives and landed at about Tier 65-67, and was able to grind out the rest of the tiers, but it left me exhausted from playing DBD. After reaching Tier 70 in all previous Rifts, I ended up taking breaks from the game and did not play until the next Rift started (which ends up being a few weeks).

This latest Rift, however, is pushing me over the edge. Despite playing a similar number of hours and keeping the similar playing patterns (usually getting at least the 2 games min per day, and more when time is available), I have completed the Archives, got to Tier 61, and have a week to grind out 9 tiers if I want to complete the Rift. Mathematically, it would take about 20 hours in game to achieve this. This does not count for queue times, loading times, BP spending, and max XP efficiency (i.e. getting out of the game right at the 10 min mark when xp gain/second stops). I do not think this is feasible to accomplish this in a week without ridiculous sacrifices, but it is obviously my choice whether to attempt it or not. What bothers me most, though is that I'm put in this position at all.

As a big fan of DBD, I've played about 1,350 hrs over the past 4 years, and never have I felt more irritated and annoyed about the game. I've participated in all the in-game events DBD has offered, including the crazy community challenges from year 1, and completed them all. I'm perfectly willing to do limited time events, but not ones that are 70 days long and restart a few weeks later. Because of the daily nagging to play (to get the bonus XP for Survivor and Killer), DBD has become more of a chore that I feel demands far too much attention, and consequently drains my willingness to play.

Obviously to some extent this is a self-inflicted wound. Sure, I should just "not care" about the Rift, but the Rift is designed to MAKE you participate in it. Regardless of what you do, the challenge widget pops up after every game and reminds you and gnaws at you that the Rift is going and you have challenges to do/prizes to claim. Again, this is fine for shorter events that last a week or two, but the Rift has become something that I frankly hate and despise. So much so that I am going to be more annoyed and pissed off that I got so far in the current Rift and didn't quite reach the goal; which feels like my time was wasted, which ultimately makes me not want to play at all. This endless cycle of Rifts is unsustainable (for me), and I really hate it.

Please... for those at BHVR that have any empathy for people's time, stop doing Rifts to often, and stop making them harder to complete (yes the community has done the math, we know you did this on purpose).

    Well said.

To be honest, It's different for everyone. For me, Rifts (and challenges) give me motivation to play. If only ACTUAL daily challenges were added to the game (whilst still keeping daily rituals), it would give us more things to do that are less exhausting.

In my eyes, Daily Rituals would be Killer challenges (as they currently are right now), and Daily Challenges would be Survivor challenges similar to challenges in the Rift.

To make things even better, these Daily Rituals and Challenges should also give Rift Fragments.

The fact that they were Legacy isn't the only thing rare for me. The more rare thing was the fact that they royally messed up. They started being toxic towards me with flashlight clicking and t-bagging super hard at pallets. They only managed to get 1 generator done, while the rest of the match was just them saving each other in front of me. Honestly, I expected more from them, but I almost never get to face or stand alongside Legacy survivors, let alone an actual TEAM of it. That's why it meant a lot to me, especially this amazing outcome.
