Well it´s not so much a problem for me, people being mean on the internet really is the least of my concerns. There are people though that have a hard time coping with such things, it can really take a toll on them. I wouldn´t wanna miss the nice post game chats so I´ll always leave it open.

The post game chat doesn't bother me either, but it does make me feel a bit sad that the players just HAVE to commentate.

  • @Slashstreetboy said:

I know the feels. It´s amplified by this insulting, almost mocking sound cue, too.

It gets worse once post game chat starts and the survivors tell the Killer that he sucks, EZ and he should kill himself this disappointed sound and message are still fresh.

Don´t know whether they should change it. If they don´t, you can work on your attitude towards it at least, it will lessen the frustration more than any change of message ever could.

People tell me the post game chat can be closed, but I think it would do everyone a favor to just remove it entirely.

They don't actually have any solid arguments. I mean, look at them claiming Deathslinger has no counterplay and that you'd win with him regardless of whatever. Which objectively isn't true. It's always survivors refusing to adjust their gameplay (the same kind that complains about ruin/devour but won't bring Small Game or such and cleans totems).

Zarina is fine, that person is just grasping for straws cause they probably fall for Red Herring or Off The Record on a regular basis.

    Right on, fella.

Thing is, Slinger isn't a good Killer. But that's because he's 110 with no mobility.

Easy Killer =/= good Killer. Just take a look at Legion or Wraith. As far as landing shots and hitting speared Survivors go, though, yes, 500 hours is more than enough time to get good with this Killer.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1677018#Comment_1677018

    No, you're welcome here.

I just think that by defending this Killer you are supporting an extremely unhealthy balance decision and if you were to leave I certainly would not miss you.

I beg to differ, Zarina is bae.

Yeah. I know. Look at me, I'm an idiot. That's crazy talk. Stop having reasons to play Spirit, to play Nurse, to run DS/UB or OoO with my friends? What's this guy on about.

But please: It's okay to run strong things.

That's it. There doesn't need to be a reason, an excuse. You might well have one, but you don't need to. At all. In any way. Your reason is totally fine being "I want to win." There's nothing wrong with that in the slightest. All the rest, all the victimisation and the blaming of the other side, it's just causing this community to divide and rot. It's not the survivors fault you're playing Pyramid Head. It's not the killers fault you're running DS/UB. It's yours. You wanted to. You wanted to be powerful, to bring in the good stuff, and that's okay.

But this insane, constant need to justify ourselves, it's just alienating everyone. Not every killer tunnels. Not every survivor runs UB with their DS. And trying to claim that they do? Trying to tell them that it's their fault? That they are the ones ruining your day, despite you having never played them in your lives? That's hurting everyone.

It's okay to run strong stuff. You don't need any other reason than that. You don't need to justify yourself. Just do it because you want to.

And side note, please stop making me constantly remember to mention a problem from each side of equal magnitude. I'm very tired and it hurts my brain. Sometimes I talk about survivor, sometimes I talk about killer, and not remembering to do both all the time every day doesn't mean I've completely forgotten the other.

    Bravo. Well said.

You know, it's sort of weird because I always get upset at people literally just playing their game in their own way, but at the same time, I use the same tactics to win sometimes. I'm also toxic as survivor, and sometimes as killer too.

    But what about Zarina???//////

Closed Curtains: I'm torn, personally. Mostly because of the concept of indoor realms in general. You mentioned that the haste effect is disabled instantly when in a chase if you're in an indoor realm, but what about the first effect?

In outdoor maps, though, it seems passable.

White Lie: So basically a Diversion or Red Herring type effect that activates when you vault a window. It would be funny as ######### but I'm not sure if it would be any more effective than humor

Leave Me Be: so this is how the chase jockey helps his team. Jokes aside, it seems okay, and it's smart of you to not allow it to stack because otherwise splitting up to do gens would be hellish for the killer even moreso than usual. The wording of "alone and not within 16 meters of your allies" should probably be replaced with "When further than 16 meters from another survivor"

About Closed Curtains, I actually wasn't sure. I was going to make it so that it does work the same way as outdoors realms, but that would make it overpowered. Perhaps turn off the white Aura-reading effect but still make it work in indoors maps? After all, it's not always you get an indoor map, and not every map has a house (that isn't the shack).

And for example, on Midwich, this perk wouldn't work if you're outside, in the middle, or at the Exit Gates, but it would still be counted as an "indoors" map.

Nothing "forces survivors to DC" except being salty that they got downed, a teammate was being an ass, or maybe face camping. Even if I'm going against a killer that tunnels AND brings an Ebony Mori I'll still stay in the game, because getting a few thousand BP is better than a timeout AND 0 BP.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I don't DC either, but those that do would rather save their time and move on to the next match.

Since when does the amount of posts relate to being a good example for the community? But no worries, I think I am, since I am calling out your bs. Just because you are a terrible survivor who lasts 20 seconds in a chase and dcs instantly the moment he sees a spirit, does not mean everybody does.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1673652#Comment_1673652

Yeah I can connect that, but unlike you , I actually did play killer. See billy is very loud when he approaches, so in order for a survivor to be hit by a billy who sprints across the map, they have to be blind, deaf and incapable of using the movement keys, that is literally how easy it is too dodge a billy who sprints across the map. Far more easy than to avoid a curve of a decent billy or hugging windows. Play the game maybe instead of watching some streamer?

Actually I didn't get offended by it, you should stop to assume so much on your end, spirit is probably the most cringy killer there is. Yet she takes skill, otherwise you would not have chickened out of a bet. So most people saw botb, we saw there is counterplay to spirit and not every survivor goes down in 20secs like you and your friend up there. No worries now, jump back to to the other tab, spam omegalul spirit takes skill omegalul and keep parroting in your echochamber, just know that you are not able to put your money where your mouth is.

When did I say that I am a terrible survivor or I DC when I see a spirit? Don't go around assuming things, for the love of Mathieu Cote.

All I said is that it doesn't take skill because I personally always got a 3k with her. Maybe if I play another match today, it won't happen that way because everyone can have bad days.

  • What about Killers who use meta perks, an Ebony Mori and end the game within 5 minutes, forcing Survivors to literally DC because of how overpowered they are?

Yes yes, I don't care about whataboutism. Shut up.

A billy can not snipe people, sorry kiddo billy is in a chainsaw sprint and not a fired railgun which connects instantly, the only way that this happens is because of stupid survivors who are too dumb to move.

Please just stop, you made a flawed statement, and you are too little to say sorry i f*ed up. Instead you try to make up with horrible comparisons such as billy can snipe good survivors across the map, yeah lul, lul ok  .

Quite the childish statement from someone who should be a good example to members of the community, considering you have 2,000 posts. "lul lul ok :: haha funny"

    There’s nothing to prove

A billy who can curve around loops and snipe people or a huntress who can cross map are much more impressive than the weeb anime killer who ignores the entire chase

  • Overrated

Survivor: Decisive Strike - Really situational and overrated perk, stun only lasts 5 seconds after off the hook. If the Killer is in a good spot, they can eat the stun and move on to continue following the same guy, downing them and hooking them again as a matter of "revenge because you stunned me!!1" (Usually this is how Killers lose a couple of their gens, not having a thick skin)

Killer: Pop Goes The Weasel - I think this perk is too good, and I'm glad a few seconds got taken off of it. During the 1 minute timer, both a Survivor and Killer can be doing lots of other things, instead of just going straight ahead and kicking a generator. If it was up to me, I'd only give PGTW a 20 or 30 second timer, because 20 or 30 seconds are more than enough to go to the other side of the map to kick a generator. It allows Killers to actually work for something, other than just chilling with a 60 second timer, downing like 2 more Survivors before kicking a generator and making it regress 25%, which, by the way, is quite the amount if you think about it. If this perk was nerfed even more, I would give it a second feature: It reveals the generator that has the most progression made on it, so the Killers can make their way to it and kick it.

    Underrated

Survivor: Breakdown - Again, situational, but really good when it works out. Shame that it can be only used twice. This perk has a special place in my builds. I'd choose this over Decisive Strike, Urban Evasion and any other "good perks."

Killer: I don't know. I'm actually not as invested in Killer perks to know which are underrated. I only know which are overrated, which I know it sounds like a biased reply, but that's just reality. I guess if I really had to choose one, it would be Tinkerer. Sure, it became a meta perk with Blight mains such as myself, but it's actually a really useful perk to know which generator to go to. But often this perk makes me panic, especially if it activates like 2 or 3 times under 5 seconds. At that point, I just give up.

  • @Slashstreetboy said:

Well, you´re entitled to your opinion. Against a Totem Killer I at least can do bones. Against a DS+UB/SG user I have literally no option other than leaving them be if I don´t want to throw the game.

Eat DS like a real man (if it's still "early" in the game). 5 seconds ain't shizzle.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/196725/killer-concept-the-vigilante-v-for-vendetta

Came back to review the perks personally.

Beneath the Mask: Doesn't really seem all that bad or good. Probably better on really chase focused killers and with Brutal Strength. It's a filler perk but that's not necessarily a bad thing, at least it's better than something like Bloodhound.

Hex: Ideas are Bulletproof: Ignoring the somewhat funny name (I know why it's called that but still), I would've said it's weak but the fact it seems like it's permanent is really strong and actually makes up for the fact that it's a hex perk. Some tweaking on the range and amount of time it's active during a chase may be necessary but this could be really good.

Only Truth: Seems kinda the weirdest bunch. Assuming the aura reading is about BBQ levels (4ish seconds), it seems like a somewhat decent way to find survivors outside of whispers range. The two healthy survivors is probably decent depending on the numbers and the exposed survivor one really depends on the numbers.

What does the last line mean, exactly? With the whole "only revealed after hitting someone while they suffer either the exposed or oblivious status effect caused by the perk"? Doesn't that seem redundant that they would know something is up if they get exposed/oblivious out of nowhere?

You know perks like Thanatophobia, Deathbound, Hex: Retribution, Hex: Huntress Lullaby, Hex: Ruin, Sloppy Butcher, Hex: NOED, and stuff like that?

You see, these perks are "revealed" to survivors once you activate them. Thanatophobia is revealed to the survivor (shows the perk icon on the side, basically) once someone is injured. I know this isn't mentioned in these perks, but I felt the need to mention it here just in case.

With all the Hex perks, they are shown once you activate one of their features: For Ruin, let go of a generator. For Lullaby, do a skill check (fixed next update). For Retribution, cleanse a totem.

Sloppy Butcher, you hit a survivor and the first time you do so, they will be shown the perk on the right.

Hex: NOED is revealed once you hit a survivor when all generators are repaired.

  • It's difficult to get it to work properly if you're doing a normal game, but it can be a pain to survivors if it works perfectly. I wouldn't change it, because not many people use it anyway. It's fine as it is, imho.

Every tried "For the people" with "Soul Guard" in an SWF? It's borderline broken when you got halfway good loopers and coordination.

Ever tried "Hex: Undying" with "Ruin" against any survivor? It's borderline overpowered but fun to go against, you don't see me complaining now, do you?

And don't you dare say "that's whataboutism", I'm clearly complimenting the other side.

  • Can we all stop trying to nerf every single good survivor perk just for being good?

  • @Ryan489x said:

I don't know if it's the game or just me(most likely me)

I have good games sometimes but there are other times I just can't win, my hits don't land even when I'm right behind someone, there are weird dodges and jukes appear to make no sense at all. For some reason when I go for a lunge that looks like it should hit it doesn't. when I go for a survivor as I swing my camera decides to turn causing me to miss or for some reason when I want to go straight it looks up and totally loose someone. the same goes when I try to follow them around turns. my camera decides you're not looking there. or the camera turns as I'm swinging and I miss. it just feels weird.

some of the dodges I've experienced are insane. If I try to do any of those things myself they never work ever. but It's mostly loosing people I shouldn't loose and missing hits that seem to be right on. Yeah dodging takes talent and is a skill so I'm not knocking the people who do it. oh and sometimes the people in question are running no perks at all or maybe 1 that does not give them a speed boost.

Sometimes I think this too, as killer. But then I realize that 50% of the time this happens to me because I'm trying to win way too much, even sweating while doing so, which is exactly why I lose in the end. You just gotta take it easy, and not take the game super seriously. Then, you'll get at least a kill or two. And also, sometimes the survivors just get the best of me. For instance, in my killer games, there is AT LEAST ONE person who uses Dead Hard.

  • Spirit never takes skill. I can't think of ONE game that I didn't get 3k+ in as Spirit.

  • @Dpooly said:

This game has seriously devolved into a toxic dumpster fire...I remember when I first started playing Dbd thinking, 'There's no other game quite like this' and having fun win or lose (mostly lose lol). It seems nobody plays this for fun anymore, it's just one side trying to end the round as quickly as possible with no regard for the other side whether it be Survivors pounding out gens in 4 minutes, Survivors sandbagging teammates for their own amusement, Killers facecamping and Mori'ing in the first two minutes of the match, Killers tunneling and/or slugging every hook they get...the list could go on for pages but you get the point. The janky spaghetti code this game is built on spews tons of bugs with every update and devs just keep piling on the sauce to cover it up instead of actually fixing the issues despite the numerous complaints but hey, give us $15 dollars for a skin...yeah right, eat my shorts. I know several of you 'know-it-alls' on these forums are just gonna say something along the lines of 'You won't be missed' and you can save it, I don't care because people like you are the problem. In the end, I feel this post is pointless but regardless, just wanted to say my piece before I left. Deuces.

    I, too, can relate.

On behalf of all the good players in this community, please accept our deepest apologies for the toxic part of the community turning your life into hell while playing Dead by Daylight. Us "good players" have to say sorry, because they themselves will never say sorry for being toxic.

All I can say is I hope you return some day.

  • Dying Light and Thanatophobia is going to be really good after the mid-chapter update. Bamboozle is also really good, as it activates when using power as well.

Don't use Enduring + Spirit Fury. It's pathetic. Legion can vault through pallets. You're better than that.

I'm sick of playing Killer on ps4 on Dbd and survivors disconnecting for the last survivor to get the Hatch and im also sick of survivors dcing for no reason especially when they get caught 5 seconds of the game starting. :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UnrpZz0lR0&ab_channel=DOWSEY as its impossible for the game to "crash" on ps4 as survivors will have to dc via closing their playstation app for dbd or leaving the game ingame. Both should cause a DC Penalty.

I love how you said all of this with a smiley face at the end. That's pretty creepy, ngl. Imagine if you were in a restaurant, and the food was so bad you had to literally speak to the manager (karen mode), but you talked with a constant smile.

  • I don't know what's so good about this video, but it's making me smile to the point where I'm excited that one day I will be leveling up all killers to get all perks on each of them. Oh, boy, how long THAT will take...

  • @ClickyClicky said:

First of all this is not 4%. It's far too common for that. It's basically every other game now, in some games multiple survivors are doing it - no luck offerings or perks btw.

Secondly it's probably the worst of all second chances. Why? because it's free. Doesn't even take a perk slot, it's just the game slapping you in the face.

It's getting to the point where I'm having to face camp survivors just to make sure they don't jump off. If they can find hatch it's basically a free escape.

What's next? Are you going to say that "running" is also a second chance and should be removed, so that survivors don't have a chance of escaping at all?

  • Replying to the title: Yes, personally I have. It's like a wave that happens during a certain time, every month, without being able to stop it. If you play during this certain time, you have a 71% chance of running into:

    1. A Toxic 4-man SWF.
    2. 4 Blendettes w/ Flashlights.
    3. Seal Team 'GenRuSHeRs' Six
    4. At Least 2 Megs
    5. Camping Stridor Spirit
    6. First Down T-bag Ghost Face
    7. Basement Bubba
    8. Speed Train Bubba

Typically, you know you're in this wave of the month if you get at least 2 Megs in your lobby. Then, you know it's about to go down.

  • @impossibleodds said:

Please stop teabagging the killer. You'd hate it too, if you ever played killer. You don't, so you see nothing wrong with it. But this is just a game, I'm not out here to ruin your lives. I get SWF's flashlight clicking and teabagging even in games where I didn't do anything they could possibly perceive as "toxic."

Why? I'm just trying to play a fun game after a long day at work. Why do you explicitly want another human being who did you nothing wrong to suffer? Why are you so mean to me?

Please stop teabagging me. I'm really begging you. I can't take it anymore. This game just makes me so sad to play.

What's sad is that you have to beg for it to stop, but as it was said above, it's a thing that's never going to stop. Same thing with hackers, toxic people, people abusing overpowered survivor builds (DS & UB, etc.) and killer builds (Stridor Spirit, Forever Freddy, Annoying Legion etc.) It's something that won't stop. If it really wears you down up to the point where you feel like begging for it on the forums, the only solution is to go play something else.

  • Please, no more ranged killers, even if my recent concept was a ranged killer.

  • A new survivor can become the obsession if you're using the perk Nemesis and they drop a pallet on you, or if they stun you with Decisive Strike.

  • Updated: Finally added Perks.

If they seem rushed, overpowered or weak, please let me know and suggest me something better and more fitting for The Vigilante. I've had tons of fun making this so far, and I'm liking all the feedback and comments I'm getting. Thank you in advance!

Well say theres 3 gens left, having two 8 meter radius detectors while also removing one of his main abilities would suck. Blight's was good because you were high speed, could use his power multiple time in a row, and were always close to the survivor that you revealed. You should either bump up the aura reading, or remove the limit on how many rapiers you can have

Do you really feel like having the aura reading on 16 meters on Ultra Rare Add-on #2 would make it better? If so, I will edit it! Seems like then it would fit the Ultra Rare category.

Tbh haven't really felt like playing throughout this pass. The game kinda got really stale for me.

Nobody says you have to! The pass is just there if people want extra content. Nobody is going to ask you to pay for it. If the game itself got stale, then nobody asks you to play that either.

  • As both roles, for me, a good game is a match that lasted more than 5 minutes, preferably nearing 10 minutes, so that everyone involved gets the balanced amount of bloodpoints, all depending on what everyone did during the match.

If you want distortion to last forever, you don't really understand power dynamic balance very well. Imagine running OoO but never having the downside to it? It's already an exploitable portable UAV wallhack as it is, but completely removing its downside?

This could still be nerfed, though.

  • @Ryuhi said:

Protip: if you randomly use up a token without the killer hooking someone, without healing in their TR, and without you running OoO like an idiot... you just found a free totem to cleanse! You even get to not be seen while doing it as an added bonus!

Hm, to an extent you're right. Undying's revealing effect lasts 4/5/6 seconds, while Distortion's anti-reveal effect lasts 6/8/10, so yes, this could work. In my opinion, still, Distortion should last...forever, or at least have a token recovery mechanic.

I really can't see V serving a tyrant like the entity, I see him being more so a survivor.

Lore-wise, it might be tricky to implement someone like V. Perhaps, this could be changed or something. Since V dies at the end of the movie (if I remember correctly), it could be said that The Entity liked his skill, revived him but on two conditions: his eyes have to glow white (as every "revenge" killer's does), and he has to serve The Entity.

  • Until Distortion gets a feature where you can get your totems back, or turns into a perk that simply constantly hides your aura if it's from an aura reading killer perk, it's not going to be placed into my builds.

    1. Freddy (No comment)
    2. Spirit (Uncounterable)
    3. Ghostface (Staring into his soul doesn't reveal him)
    4. Leatherface (If you don't have a pallet in front of you, you're dead)
  • @Milkasa said:

His power seems like a mix mash of Huntress, Deathslinger, Nurse, and a bit of Legion. Though Ultra Rare Addon #2 seems horrible. If it was 16 or 20 meter radius's it would be worth it for 7K BP, but only having two of them its absolutely horrible. It's like Amanda's Letter: removes one really good ability and gives you really bad aura reading

Perhaps I'm overestimating Aura reading in this game, since I never really liked to touch that topic, and 16/20 meters just seemed a lot to me. You've seen how overpowered Compound 21 was on The Blight, so being able to constantly see survivors within a 16 meter radius, 32 combined if you place both Dropped Daggers close to each other, it would cover a rather large portion of the map and would seem unfair. Place these next to the last generators for example, close to each other, and you've got perfect constant aura reading, giving almost no chance to survive, even if The Vigilante is 110%.

  • Updated Add-ons:

    • Uncommon Add-on #3 - Vendetta Daggers take moderately (by 1 second) longer to remove.
    • Common Add-on #2 - Dagger Hit scoring event awards 100% more Bloodpoints, but no longer inflicts the Deep Wound status effect.

He opened the gate, down into carry... Now why fid he feel invincible? Decisive strike! After 15 seconds of being unhooked and than a 20 second chase , where he was able to get a free unhook on tap and did not have to use dead hard. DS should be a anti tunnel perk, not a free escape, free save, free one man army game plan ability. His other 2 teammates merely waited at the other exit gate and did not get involved whatsoever. Felik was in a literal god state taking advantage of dead hard which he knew he could use if i slugged and incase that failed he buys another 5 seconds of escape time. Devs you people have to nerd DS to a bare minimum of 35 seconds. Pop was a meta perk, but it is only rewarded for successive downs. Why are you punishing skill and letting game breaking perks exist?
