  • I'd like to see Nurse, Clown and Legion be reworked... Along with Moris, Keys and the BT issue mentioned above.

I wish that ALL Killers were relaxing to play against, but so far those that I mentioned + Ghost Face + Spirit too, kind of, are all of a pain to go against as Survivor.

Like seriously, you can see these Killers sweating their butts off just to get ONE kill, all while the Survivor team isn't even that good.

  • @Boss said:

Yeah, and fat Survivors are actually slower, and old Survivors become permanently Broken on any hit!

Fair play if they would do this as an April Fools joke.

Why would you reduce PGTW timer and not do the same as DS?

Why would you not activate Xbox/PS crosspregression?

Why not listen to the community? No one asked for PH nerf, he was in a perfect spot, I don't see what's wrong!

Could you answer us and provide more info please, we only ask that in exchange of our said "love" for the game. (DBD is a love/hate relashionship for most)

I'm going to keep doing this every time there's a new but repetitive post about the same dumb topic(s) that the select few minority do not seem to understand.

  • This is like the 100th discussion about this, so I won't read it. I'm sorry in advance.

But I get it. I really do. It's unfair that they nerf PGTW and not DS. I think they should at least make the DS time the same as PGTW, but also add a way to preserve the effect, in case of a chase or something like that. And about Unbreakable, UB is fine as it is, in my opinion. It's for the sole purpose to prevent slugging, and combining this with DS can be sucky, but also very situational. As I said before in my own threads (and replies to other threads about the topic) this combo almost never works out for me. But that may just be me, I guess.

Decisive strike needs a big rework to be a truly anti-tunnel perk, not I have - 60 seconds of protection.

    • change the number from 40/50/60 to 40/45/50 or 35/40/45,
    • Make it that you can use it twice,
    • It deactivates after 3(?) seconds of being healed/healing someone/doing a totem, opening a gate,
    • And after taping a gen,
    • It wouldn't work after being grabbed, the only exception is pallet grab and window grab.
    • While in a chase the timer wouldn't tick down.

    @Reinami said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/194359/ds-doesnt-need-a-nerf-it-needs

    • Make it last 45 seconds
    • Make it so if you are in a chase the timer doesn't tick down
    • Make it so it can be used multiple times
    • Make it so that the perk deactivates if you get healed, or heal for 1 health state, or start repairing a generator, or cleansing a totem, opening a gate. etc.

I'd be fine with it deactivating once being healed, doing a generator or a totem, but opening the gate? Nah, I still want to escape fam.

  • Where's that whataboutism guy?! We need him to settle things, although he will probably side with the killers here...

  • @Hex_Llama said:

I'm also excited for this. I think the rationale behind all the changes made sense and I'm looking forward to seeing it all in action. 8 months also sounds like a pretty normal timeframe to make these kinds of changes, IMO. It's not like one person can just go, "Hey, what if we did this?" and put it in the game.

Fair, but if we only include the perk changes here, I think 8 months is kind of a stretch. It also really depends on how many people were working on the code and whatnot.

I mean, this makes me seriously wonder how perks look like in the code, so I would know why they took so long to do, but at the same time they make me question everything because... I know we're talking about many perk changes here, but each chapter adds 6 new perks (and a killer + survivor as well) and the timeframe between them is questionable.

Silent Hill Chapter was released on June 16th and Descent Beyond was released on September 8th. There's only about three and a half months between that, and they pumped out loads of more content than just a few perk changes.

  • Okay, okay-

I get that coding can be difficult, and this is what I say all the time as well, but... 8 months?

Yeah, okay. I'm convinced. Dead by Daylight's code is spaghetti.

  • @Kebek said:

I was really happy with this perk updates patch until last spacecoconuts video came out making me realise that these changes were in the making for 8 MONTHS. I hope that devs didn't actually take all that time for these few very very slight perk changes. If that's the case, I have no other words then disappointment.

I sure hope that it's not the case and it didn't take 8 MONTHS to slightly adjust a few perks. @Almo Please tell me something pushed the changes back and that you didn't really take 8 months to slightly adjust only a few perks.

    image.png image.png

    Please tell me you're joking.

What are some of your memories from when you first started playing the game?

I remember learning with a friend and I had to tell her to use the wraith instead of the huntress to train me because the humming creeped me out.

Oh, man. I remember playing as David against my sister in a custom match, somewhere in late 2018 to early 2019. I was way too scared of this game, and my sister figured out where I was because I rush-entered a locker, which I thought wouldn't notify her. Of course, she found me and I screamed out loud like a baby.

Now? Only Ghostie and Myers can make me even flinch, to be honest.

Why would you even think to do this? Like stop the "oh it's not final and it's just a sneak peek towards the mid chapter", no.

Why would you even think of nerfing pop without thinking of nerfing DS or UB.

It's pretty stupid to call the devs survivor biased, but when they do stuff like this it's hard to call them not.

This needs to be balanced out from both sides, pyramid is getting nerfed, his lose lose scenarios is what made him good, we'll have to see how he turns out though. Other survivor perks are getting buffed (thankfully none of them look busted) and now pop is getting nerfed with nothing to the survivor meta being nerfed along side it.

Pop is still going to be pretty good and usable, but just why did they need to nerf it in the first place? AND why not nerf DS UB in the mean time if we're touching meta perks?

Oh no, I'm talking about big boys like Bubba. Earlier I went against the 37th best Bubba main (apparently, judging from stats) and had a discussion with him unrelated to this topic, but he only had one perk: BBQ & Chili. No agitation, nothing else, yet he was moving like a train and even downed my friend in the process.

  • @xerav said:

Sanity is overrated but you can test it ... next time run next to the killer if he runs faster then you its not on your end.

Ok but I'm normally not the kind of person to do this kind of stuff but it's got to me.

I've been experiencing multiple frame drops, stutters and rubber banding on killer since the release of blight. After the hot fix, nothing happened. I have tried to be calm and look for help. One of your mods helped me fix this issue, or at least I thought. After I got helped I was no longer getting rubber banding and stuttering, but the fps drops still persists. Sure I have a crappy pc. But at least it ran the game damn find until blight. Don't get me wrong I love this game but sometimes I find things blatant.

I've met multiple of other players in game with the same issue and only a few here on the forums. I find it so stressing when I see a squad of baby survs defeat me all because of frame drops. Each time not even a kill sometimes not even a hook! Not that rank matters, but from 1 to 8 is pretty big! I just hate the feeling of facing more inexperienced survivors who stomp me because of crappy fps drops, sure that sometimes even with the low fps drops I might make the wrong choices. But if only I could count how many times I could of won from a actual game without fps drops getting in my way.

At this point I don't even want to play killer as it ruins fun. What the heck, even a kill or two will please me! Sure survivor works but I do t want to play it all the time. Not to mention how it stacks onto of the games ring hating me giving me the worst maps for every killer i choose. But that's a different topic. And no i will not go toxic and get up to the higher ranks, using Morris and crap. All because I'm having a bad experience doesn't mean others have to have the same fate.

Please it draining my fun. Can you please BHVR announce a fix or at least announce what systems are not compatible because that's all I want to know. Why and what's going to happen?!. Do I need a new pc or is it on your end.

Please no arguments aswell I'm not in the mood, I won't be able to respond straight away im taking a break from technology all together.

Also if any of you are experiencing this please do say, this let me no if it's actually common or not, or my fault. if you have a fix please tell me.

Thank you for using your time to read this.

Well one thing that would help is for Killers to KNOW 100% if/when they are facing a SWF. I know I don't go for the Tunnel/Mori when I'm facing a Solo group. I don't have to, and would rather not. They WON'T tell us, because they are afraid we will dodge Lobbies. The result is people STILL dodge lobbies doing their best to guess, AND assume every game is a SWF till proven otherwise. Do you see my point? :) Better to just tell us any 3+ group up front so we know when NOT to bring the sledgehammer.

I agree. I'm kind of eager to see what the hell they will do in the upcoming Mid-Chapter update...

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1629891#Comment_1629891

With all due respect, no... it wasn't. You can look at my own posts going back over a month talking about the rise of the Mori and Tunneling. You may not have noticed it, but it was going on. You can see it in videos on Youtube and discussions of how to deal with SWF. The chatter and implementation of it isn't something Killers wanted but rather have been adopting out of necessity. A LOT of us (Killers) have been talking about it for a LONG time, specifically in context that we don't love it but what else can we do.

What bothers me the most is that this strange activity is from both sides. I know it seems like I'm just talking about simple toxicity, but it just feels like it's more than that. I hope some way this will die down, in the future...

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1629873#Comment_1629873

See my previous post. The META is shifting around SWF because the numbers of them (and their efficacy) has reached the critical point. I play Survivor and Killer, and have been noticing the shift in direct correlation. It isn't the Tournament that caused this; that merely showcased the issue to a lot more people. It has been going on slow and steady for sometime. We are just now reaching the point where EVERYONE sees it.

But I don't understand. Everything was fine until the day before yesterday. I was having a blast on both teams. Actually, I've been having fun endlessly before the release of Level 4 of the current tome. But now, my fun is slowly dying down because... because everyone is becoming an ass?

  • I hope it's Huntress, and they fix hitboxes as well as make Iridescent Head a range-based add-on. It's seriously frustrating to go against.

Before the Hexy's Tournament and Rank Reset, I would get out of every match as a solo in red ranks. After the tournament and rank reset every teammate needs to get beat over the head with a shoe before understanding. Not including a few.

Killer before hand were genuinely good sports, I would give tips on how to fix the perk builds from what I've seen from people who main said killer. The minority tunneled and camped. Now, everyone tunnels/camps, runs garbage perk builds that are fixed with OP add-ons, most are toxic. And the majority tunnels/camps and now including, slugging. For no other reason than 'they can'.

You know what? You're actually right. Yesterday I've started to notice something wrong, not only on the Survivor side, but on the Killer side as well. It's as if literally the entire playerbase of this damn game has changed their playstyle from regular to uber toxic. Is this the influence of that Hexy's Tournament everyone keeps mentioning? I seriously know nothing about it, but I've been noticing an increasing amount in camping, tunneling, slugging, t-bagging, flashlight clicking, gen-rushing and even DCing, from both sides. I started seeing these signs around yesterday or before, while I was trying to do my Daily Rituals and the Killer challenges in the Level 4 of Tome: Conviction.

I know those things have existed in the game before, but not on the level it currently is. As Killer, I was Rank 3 and had at least FIVE "Entity Displeased" results in a row as I was trying to do my SIMPLE challenges. I can assure you that it can't be because of my skill level, since even I can play moderately well, above average, I would say. I know how to mindgame, I know how to play Killer in general, so what the hell is going on?

As Survivor, teammates keep DCing and the Killer camps, tunnels and slugs. Oh, there's also not a single Killer without NOED. So, what's going on??? Again, these things existed before this tournament, but NOT on the same level as currently.

    0_o Y'all good??

I mean, they always could do those things and they were always a "strategy" that's not "punishable" for some reason, so I guess fair play to them. If the developers said it's not a bad thing, then I guess it's not a bad thing, although I think they should really listen to what brings actual fun to the players instead of despair.

As much as I hate to say it, swf does solve all those problems. I never play solo que anymoe. Since they turned on cross play this feels like the worst batch of randoms we've ever had.

Randoms are the worst, but funny enough being a solo player is how I still find Dead by Daylight "fun" and challenging. I have more luck as a solo player then as a SWF group, lmao.

I’d consider taking it as a main perk then.

Everytime I let go of a gen it blows up. Apparently its just a skillcheck loading as you let go I heard but I’m convinced gens are randomly programmed to explode as you let go.

If Technician was 100% prevention it would be pretty strong. 3 of these letting explosions avoided and you’d save yourself 24 seconds of gen time.

Downside is it would completely nullify Huntress Lullaby if anyone wanted to use that.

I see. What about simply 100% preventing the noise from appearing upon an explosion, but still having a penalty and small stop in repairing?

  • @Heartbound said:

Imagine you're a grizzled survivor. You're ready for anything. You do generators in your sleep. You exhale light from having so many flashlights shoved up your butt and...that poor nurse keeps blinking into a wall, but not far enough to actually go anywhere.

You don't wanna die of course, but generators aren't really worth rushing if you're not in any real danger. Why not go over and say hello to the floating tissue?

It's not bullying, we just think you're cute and want to hug you, but we don't want to get murdered.

    3xi59m.jpg

    Beautiful.

  • Would it make Technician too OP if we turned the 50% explosion prevention into 100% (but it would still pause repairing upon an explosion)? It would take up a perk slot after all, but it would drastically help those who can't hit skill checks.

Friday the 13th had already been announced as early as 2015, including a trailer for the game itself. Certainly, BHVR released their title first, but it's pretty obvious that it was a rushed job. Can't possibly be a coincidence.

"PewDiePie made a video like this one, so you're obviously ripping off PewDiePie."

  • @GoshJosh said:

I think it goes against the spirit of the perk, and can actually work against the killer (assuming you are facing smart survivors). They now have control over which generators get blocked, versus it always being the three furthest.

The perk doesn't activate or show until they touch a generator, so even if they are smart, they never know this perk exists until they touch a generator, therefore the Killer would most definitely find a Survivor in the beginning of the game. Oh, and let's say one of the Survivors purposely move to the other side of the map so they touch a generator that's on a bad spot, the Killer would see its location regardless. It would be great to use this variation of the perk to stall time and find Survivors easily.

well well, its godot again, good day mate! i see u got alot of ideas, lets see...

i would honestly say... its a great idea, because of this, sometimes at the start of a match, some killers struggle to find survivors, and there is currently no perk for the killers that allows em to find survivors from the beginning (apart from whispers but with inaccuracy on the where abouts), so im supporting this idea, although im still thinking about it, but other than the fact that it helps to, and to quote you " giving you an easier time as the Killer to find them", i have nothing bad to say about it, other than what the guy said about "They now have control over which generators get blocked", which i dont know how it would be against the killer, like im not saying what he said is terrible, im just saying that i dont know how, its a great idea but needs more thought before applying, but mainly helping killers find survivors is a great idea, i gotta make sure i catch up with your posts ma man, keep it up! cheers!

I've never gotten a positive comment like this, so thanks! I have loads of ideas but some of them are dumb, so I will only ever share what I find interesting and actually useful.
