  • The power of Desperate Measures.

  • Both killers are good, but Blight takes the cake.

  • At least make the cap 2 million, in my opinion. Although some people would even cry about this because "ooga booga survivors will have more bloodpoints to spend on purple flashlights." That's what I've seen a while ago, when someone suggested this idea. Imagine crying about being able to save even more BP than before. That's like crying about getting free money.

  • I'm surprised barely anyone mentioned Spirit.

I did pay attention to your wording and I'm disagreeing with you. You're confusing "competitiveness" or "taking the game seriously" with the game being "competitive". Dead by Daylight is by definition a competitive game because one of the players is competing against the other players by design. The opposite of a competitive game would be a "cooperative" game where all the players are cooperating toward a common goal (e.g. Pandemic or all the players in an RPG working together to beat an NPC, etc.) Dead by Daylight can't be a cooperative game by its fundamental nature, it is a competitive game. There's no "should not be" about it, it is a competitive game by definition.

Okay, I'm sorry that I know less than you do.

Thing is, the word "competitive" grew on me ever since games like CS:GO have "competitive mode" also known as "ranked." I always misinterpret it when other people use the word casually (like you did), and simply it's my personal opinion that Dead by Daylight shouldn't be competitive in the sense of "taken seriously to the point of hosting tournaments, etc."

To me, that's what competitive is, I suppose. I try my best to not take Dead by Daylight seriously, and the only times I fail is when I have to sweat my butt off going against a toxic SWF team or a toxic big brain Killer who knows everything better than I do.

It makes no sense someone as big as Jeff should have the same breathing/grunting pattern as an athlete like Meg for example.

Being a strong, tough-looking guy means you suddenly have to be louder when grunting in pain?

I have been using breakdown for 40 games in the past week and I couldn't disagree more. The one hook has little to no value when other hooks are nearby, does nothing for basements, the 6 seconds is okay but I would rather have Alert for near consistent 5 seconds every 30 seconds. The only reason I was using it was because I thought it was two, but under my games it only was useful 5 times, and all those times could've been fixed with Saboteur or a toolbox. Imo definitely not worth it.

I guess we just both had different matches with different outcomes.

This is definitely a competitive game, you're directly competing against the other side as your main goal. Contrast that with cooperative games where everybody is on the same team playing against the computer, for example. It's also not a "party" game like some people inexplicably seem to think, there's a learning curve in Dead by Daylight. I couldn't just plop my mom down in front of the game and expect her to play even remotely well.

Now if you mean there are issues with making "balanced official tournaments", you're right. But that doesn't make the game not competitive.

You should pay attention to wording. I didn't say it's not a competitive game, I said it should not be a competitive game. I'd leave "competitiveness" to other games, like Fortnite, Counter-Strike, and other similar titles.

  • @dugman said:

I don't know if it's worse than other competitive online game communities, I think there's just a consistent 5-10% of people are jerks and they're the ones throwing insults in chat after a game and so on. With four other players per match I'd expect to come across a rude person calling people trash or cheap or lame or "gg ez" or whatever about every three to five matches or so.

This game should not be competitive at all.

  • Literally worse than the Undertale and Furry community combined. I am not exaggerating. The largest toxic wasteland I've ever seen in my entire life. I wish someone could do something about it, but guess that's not ever gonna happen.

  • The game is unoptimized and the FPS drops are because of the new graphical update. This is something we can only hope they will fix in the future. I'm having the same issues, especially when a pallet breaks, or when a generator is complete.

  • Why is this another "old Ruin" thread when the current Ruin is perfectly fine, but the old Ruin was literally a game-killer for newer players???

  • @KasumiFox said:

First, this is my first time posting on here. Second, I played both survivor and killer (though I love killer a bit more). I've wanted to ask survivor mains for a bit of a favor. When the killer is playing the best they can but not doing well and they didn't camp or tunnel, what's the point of Tbagging them in the end. Even worse, sending them nasty messages. I don't want to sound sensitive, but I've had to get off because it was too much several times. You don't know what someone is going through that day. I really just to ask everyone to be supportive and play the game fairly.

I learned this recently, that t-bagging in the end at the gate means the survivors let you have a free hit on them, unless once you approach them, they run off. I forgot the name of the person who told me this, but ever since I knew that information, I never got offended or triggered when they t-bagged at the end.

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

Yeah, the camping and tunneling part of this game is the reason I don't invite any friends to play this game, and it's the reason the friends I've made in this game no longer play.

    Thank you BHVR.

It's a real sad day to be alive, to be honest. I wish this game finally took a turn for the good... Ugh.

    No, not at all.

But it is a decent Tracking Perk, so there is a reason why players are using it. I prefer Whispers over Discordance. (Whispers is the best tracking perk IMO)

I never actually tried Whispers, but I know the perk gives out an eerie sound when there's a survivor nearby, and it works with lockers as well, which is kind of overpowered, but Discordance is a more direct tracking perk, from the looks of it.

It just makes me think that if killers don't have this perk in their builds, they will not find any survivors without it.

  • @CheyeneKL said:

How often do yall run into a team with OoO that wrecks you? Be honest.

    Like, once a month.

Recently, I ran into a weird team as Doctor on Midwitch, all 4 were Laurie with Object. I lost. I was just confused the entire game.

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

its fine as is, but if it MUST be changed, then make it obsession only

Many people would disagree with you in it being fine as is, lmao.

  • What do y'all mean, I played on Ormond like 3 times now as the Blight and on all of them the Survivors were annihilated. Rank 4, by the way.

  • I tend to be toxic if a Killer is toxic, but other than that, I 99.99% don't mean the bad things I might say to all the Killers in the end game chat. There are some people who actually deserve it, but others just get a piece of my mind for no reason and I'm truly sorry about that. My temper sucks when it comes to Dead by Daylight.

  • Kindred with Open-Handed

  • I'm loving the high IQ replies in this thread. It feels like everyone is Einstein and knows best.

  • I absolutely adore this Killer, both as a Survivor and Killer. I love going against him, and I love playing as him. Best Killer they've released so far, imo.

  • Ignore those who offend you, close the end-game chat and grow a thicker skin. Simple as that. No point in reporting those who won't be banned anyway.

Not a bad idea, not sure about the keys though, there's an achievemt for all 4 to escape via hatch, you need the key for that.

The achievement could just be "vaulted" or something, and everyone who got it can flex on new players and be like "Hey look I got this achievement you can't get anymore."

I can post 4Ks as well but that doesn't make Legion a "fine" killer.

Here you go, 4K on Red Forest, rank 2, 3, 5, 5, toolkits, flashlight, DS, Sprint Burst. It would have only taken a tiny bit of coordination for them to finish that last gen and all escape. Legion is average.

Soooo... He's fine, then. If he's "average", he's fine.

If you actually think Wraith and Myers are strong, you've been fighting baby survivors.

Yes, they're decent with their best add-ons.

    No, that's not the standard.

To each to their own, I guess. I wasn't using add-ons, by the way.

  • @Bard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1612478#Comment_1612478

You can like them all you want, they're still dogshit.

Maybe the Killers aren't the ones that are bad here..................................?

  • I truly wonder if some of the devs actually look at these Killer concepts and say something positive about them.

  • Gen-rushing has been a problem to an extent, yet each time someone actually gen-rushes the Killer, they bite it in the end thanks to NOED because they didn't do the bones. This happens 90% of the times, to me at least.

This perk isn't a good idea, not because it would suck or anything, but because it's pointless. I've played countless matches where the Killer starts chasing a Survivor, and that Survivor happens to be much more skilled than the Killer, which is how they could ran the killer for 4+ generators.

If the Killer sees too much generators popping while still in a chase, they should immediately change course instead of committing and leave the Survivor they're having trouble with. It happened to me countless times as a Killer, and that is how people escaped.

So, yes, as much as I hate to say it, you have to "get good" or improvise, adapt and overcome. Change the build you're using, play as a different Killer, etc.

  • Only read the title. I agree. 100%. And make them cost 5000 or something, so that they're like teachable perks.

If something like this ever happens though, it would have to change a few perks, such as Discordance being the first tier variant.

  • lol2.png

    Legion is just fine.

Can confirm, I swing my mouse around wildly when I'm rushing.

Also, all of those perks VS your first game as Blight with 2 of your own, one of which is bugged? Damn, that's impressive. I lost my first few games with a full loadout and survivors that couldn't dodge my lethal rush.

Guess this proves you don't need a full loadout to wreck survivors. :^)

In all seriousness, I guess I just got lucky on my first match as Blight. He was really fun to play as.

  • @Bard said:

He's not the worst, but that says more about Clown, Wraith, and Myers than it does about Legion.

I just had a couple Myers games and obliterated everyone. He's not a bad killer, I assure you that. Same goes to Wraith. Wraith is my 2nd favorite Killer out there. Lmao.

Yeah, I haven't noticed too many issues either. I did make a thread about the FPS going down the drain, but it was created before I was able to get into the game and test it out myself (It wasn't an issue). However, just because I don't experience it myself doesn't mean it's not my issue, as without other players there wouldn't be any game to play.

My apologies. Knowing this forum, I thought this was another one of those "let's complain about BHVR for no reason" threads, as the people here on this forum like to make a lot of those. If so many people are experiencing bugs and issues, then the only thing we can do is hope the people at BHVR actually listen and fix them. But I hope people take in consideration that coding takes time. I know that's not a valid excuse and many people have been using it, but it's just the truth. There are some games out there that started development in 2010 and only came to the spotlight in 2017-2018.

  • @MadLordJack As promised. I quite like this Killer, but my mouse nearly came off the table at least 3 times from trying to hit someone using his power.

    lol.png

Also, the hatch is my only weakness.

  • @RockoRango said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1612388#Comment_1612388

They're saying that because every update breaks the game in some way. For example, Silent Hill broke the FPS and introduced a completely broken map (going through the world, getting stuck in hallways, etc.) because it seems the developers have a crappy QA (Quality Assurance) system.

Almost every update as of this year, let alone since 2016, has fixed something yet broke a TON of major things just because they weren't tested before release (Or they have a bad testing system). If they TESTED the update on console before they released it, they could've averted the FPS issues or at least addressed them without a month of silence about it.

Guess I need to open my eyes a bit. Still, it doesn't change the fact that I'm not experiencing any issues, apart from the FPS drops.

Is that person a coder or someone that bought this game with expectations that it wouldn’t be broken every three months? If gaslighting is all you have ok, but don’t take a legitimate complaint about this busted game and try to make it go away with nonsense about going and working for behavior.

How come you, the poster and a chunk of other people think this game is broken, but myself and.. let me say "the majority" thinks otherwise? I'm having mad fun right now, but I do acknowledge the FPS drops.

I think the OP overexaggerated, saying that "every update screws this game over"

People thought the Pyramid Head update was bad, yet look at those people now, enjoying the Killer and everything else.

To be fair, against him is pretty rough at the moment. His TR is... Wierd, to say the least, but very few Blight's have even attempted to counter the 360's, so he gets an easy first hit but then just played like a normal m1 killer because they're so convinced they cannot use his power in a chase. It's hard to gauge how good a killer is when it's a pebcac issue.

Gonna play my first game as him. I'll reply here and judge whether or not he's easy to use based on my own skill level (that being purple ranks).

I will be using Dragon's Grip and Hex: Undying.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1612321#Comment_1612321

According to the tooltip, Myers is hard, Billy is easy, and Deathslinger is intermediate. To be blunt, they mean nothing. They're like rank: Sometimes you get killers that make sense (Nurse is Hard, Pig is Intermediate), and other times you get rank 1 Trappers that facecamp with NOED.

Also, rank 1, consistent 4k's against good teams that know how to loop and slam gens. I think Blight might be my new main because he's so damn strong and his add-ons just make him better in every way. Plague Bile and Umbra Salts for life.

I like his power and such. He's a good addition to the game, in my opinion. Anyone else who thinks otherwise just didn't play enough as him or against him.

  • @OBX said:

And the white knight drops in to add his pithy comment that has absolutely no value to the topic of the OP.

You can't say I'm wrong, though.

  • @Peace said:

    No terrorradius on killers.

Seriously every update just ######### this game over. Its unplayable at the moment.

If you know any better, you should enlist into BHVR as a developer and help them fix things faster and make things better.

  • I didn't get the chance to play as him yet, but I think he's pretty underrated.

To everyone out there struggling with this Killer, please note down your skill level and rank, and make sure to look at the "difficulty" on The Blight's tooltip to see why you're unable to correctly play as him.

You directed "you people" towards me, that's out-of-the-question, but that's fine as long as you exclaim that you're not. The rest is fair, I was just clarifying that you shouldn't assume I'm part of that group if you were.

I used bad wording. It happens every now and then. Yet, I didn't exactly mention or quote anyone when I said "you people".

  • @RockoRango said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1612262#Comment_1612262

No hard feelings either, but assuming that I'm part of "you people" that always complain the game is survivor-sided isn't fair. I'm just happy we now have a perk that isn't the boring meta to use/play against, not just "I'm a killer main and this might finally give me an advantage".

Besides, good killers don't have a vendetta against survivors in general unless their behavior is extremely bad for the game or the perk is quite legitimately unfair (Ex. old Mettle of Man). I would get rid of that mindset, else you're going to hate a good chunk of the community just because of a few rotten apples.

I don't hate anyone and I didn't specify whether you are apart of those "people" I mentioned. I was talking about a good chunk of the killers who are on a high horse and always seek out the wrong on the other side instead of focusing on their own side. I'm glad you're happy and that's exactly what I said in my first post. You finally have a perk you appreciate.

Personally, apart from the old Mettle of Man, I don't think any of the perks in the game are unfair anymore. Not even Hex: Undying, although some people are really afraid that this perk will dominate every survivor out there, when in the end it's a regular Hex perk that can be cleaned like Devour or NOED. Lmao.

  • Queue times are fine for me. Let's be honest here, if people who love the game actually left because they personally didn't like the update or something, they seriously need a reality + ego check. Lol.

  • @RockoRango said:

Separating the killer playerbase from the survivor playerbase instead of saying "Good, now we can be happy we finally got a good killer perk" isn't healthy.

It's just you people always complain that the game is survivor sided and that they have overpowered perks. All I'm saying is be glad you got something that's actually good, for once. No hard feelings.

  • Good, now you killers can be happy you finally got a good perk.
