I want to say it, but i'm not going to.
That Hex: Undying can easily be cleansed at the start of the match? Yeah, true. It's not an uber strong perk. I don't know what the big fuss about it is. Pretty sure the chance of Hex: Undying saving a Hex: NOED and placing it on another Dull Totem is 1 in a 100, if not 1000.

Then my thread about this update (and the entire game itself) being unoptimized was very true. Even me, who runs every game 60+ FPS, I lost some FPS with this update. Lmao. I love DBD.

Why we don't have auric cells in the free pass? Here's why:

It was being filled with spam/bumps/trash. Yeah optimization is a problem but pages upon pages of spam(and hate) to keep the thread up is not the way to go about fixing it.
Hm, even I didn't know this (I'm not even a console player, so that explains why)
It's good they took off the thread then. I think we should just give the devs a bit of extra time to go about optimizing the game.
I really hope they use this time well, though. Lmao.

I've got the same problem. I believe i've got a pretty good PC for running games, but even though I get perfect fps in almost all of my other games, I only get between 30 - 20 fps on DBD.
Let's just hope that they really optimize the game in the next update.
That's the thing about the next update. It will get even worse if they don't do something about it now.

Good. Now, make a thread about camping. That seems to be misunderstood, too.

Yes, the game is unoptimized, it´s the type of game that doesn´t look good and doesn´t run well.
Thank you for the clarification. I thought my computer was the problem. Even a higher caliber game such as Fortnite (don't judge lol) runs super smoothly with no FPS lag.

Well, it depends on what you want to do. I like stealth and options, so Pig is a fantastic choice for me. Crouch, Ambush and the RBT's are perfect for how I play.
Just remember that some killers are what you'd call "different", and I place Pig, Legion, Hag and Trapper in this sort of category, because you aren't doing the usual killer thing of just chasing survivors. There's more to them than just the chase.
As you probably noticed, the Killers I mentioned that I won't main are all somewhat ranged. They might not be weak (except Clown), but I can't be arsed to learn them. Plague is also somewhat ranged too, but I left her in as an option because I quite like her power and the possibilities you can achieve with her.

Or you just play aggressively and freely use at least one of them to completely undo the killers pressure. Every time I see someone say that they're situational, I know they're a nice person.
I probably have anger issues because sometimes I'm not a nice person when I play Dead by Daylight, but I always try to be as fair (and nice) as possible, up until either Killers (as a Survivor) or Survivors (as a Killer) piss me off one way or another. It may seem like I usually side with either Survivors or Killers, but honestly I'm neutral. I use ######### perks myself, as a Survivor, yet I still acknowledge how scummy they are as Killer.

Usually them doing that is them communicating that they'll give you a free hit, know how survivors end game farm sometimes at the gate? It's that, their way of showing that to you
I didn't know that, huh. Guess that makes everything a lot less frustrating, to be honest. It's like a weight off my shoulder. Thanks.
-
I agree. DS and Unbreakable are nasty...
*hides Survivor perk build...*
But on a serious note, I despite those perks even as Survivor. They're very situational and a waste of a perk slot, if you never even get to use them, like myself.

I'm only a nice killer if I have a big reason to be nice, like one time 2 guys suicided first hook so I shepherded the last 2 to gens and gates. Sometimes when i'm nice I still get the "gg ez" "baby killer" "tunneler" so I tend to just get my 4k while in the game, then I'm nice post game
Just now had a game as the Oni. The crossplay Survivors (1 Claud and 1 Nea) t-bagged at the Exit gate, and I didn't even tunnel or camp. Why are people like this? What the hell? I confess that I, as a Survivor, only click my flashlight or t-bag at the gate when the Killer really pissed me off during the match, but I didn't do any of those as a Killer, so why am I rewarded poorly by Survivors who managed to escape? This game can be confusing sometime. At least I have a reason to t-bag and click my flashlight, but they didn't.

@BitingSea said:
As a killer main myself I honestly feel bad for some of the survivors I face off against. I'll play Legion and they'll heal and a dude can have me on a 1 minute chase with 3 others unpressured, they all heal and barely work on the gen. I'll play Pyramid Head and they are way too afraid of torment causing time loss in dire situations. For God Sakes I play BASEMENT TRAPPER and they don't think to never step on the grass or take the window or just leave that person to die bc shack is a Saw Trap. I feel bad when a genuinely good survivor gets with a bunch of meatheads and gives me an easy 4k, but I usually work on trying to kill the good survivor bc I know if I do that, I win already, but hey, matchmaking is never gonna be perfect, neither will PvP game balance, we just gotta live with this stuff unfortunately
I'm not sure how legal it would be for me to do (and say) this but: I think I can call myself a "nice Killer"? Yesterday I saw a Claudette get stuck in the hill bug, and instead of devouring her and using it to my advantage, I freed her and gave her another chance. After that, in the same match, the last guy was struggling against me, and he almost had the Exit opened, I suddenly had this feeling in me. I felt bad for the guy so much that I let him escape in the nick of time. After the match, I got praise for being a good Killer, and I felt really good about myself. I know I had all the opportunities to have a 4k and stuff, but those guys weren't playing toxic at all. We need more players like them.

I assume this very elaborate response means you don't experience any sort of pain while playing Killer, fellow Killer main?

I haven't seen anyone play him the past month, me included, and I have all DLCs.
Demo is underwhelming because he doesn't fit in the game at all (in my opinion), and his perks aren't super great, apart from Surge to be honest. Surge is the only good thing, and maybe Cruel Limits when you're in Lery's.
That's pretty much it. A big "meh."
The Survivors and their perks are good, though.

Let me be clear to some of y'all. While pirate ships are cool and all, I was suggesting one of those very large motherships. Not necessarily with "weapons" on it and whatnot, just a very large ship with containers on it and stuff, think the cargo ship from Call of Duty 4. Okay, maybe minus the containers, to make for easier loops. But yeah, just wanted to make that clear. ^^
-
The only Hillbilly I've seen the past 1-2 months is myself, and I suck as him A LOT. He was my main before the update, but now that's a lost cause.

Someone who tbags tries to tilt or annoy the killer.
Why would people annoy other people? I dont know, lets look at some examples who do it.
Ochido and AngryPug are good examples. Both do it all the time, both are pricks and unsecure. Both had big ups and downs during their life (at least they claim they had) and both seems to be pretty lonely, at least this is my impression when i watched them.
Bit harsh there but honestly you're not wrong. xD
I seriously hate tbaggers, flashlight clickers and other toxic types of players, but I'm going to confess here that if the Killer plays in a really absurdly annoying way, I also tbag and click with my flashlight. But I swear, I don't do it because I want to, it's because I also get tilted.
-
Nah.
The devs should remain opposed to ideas like these and continue coming up with their own, original (or community-made) ideas and licensed Killers/Survivors/Chapters.
-
Personally I am opposed to this, as I don't think it would be cool and fitting, to be honest, much like children Survivors, obviously. Besides, it would just be annoying to not be able to see the Killer because of their size.
-
@Dustin said:
A ship map would be awesome but how would you go about with exit gates? What happens when a survivor walks out of the gates do they just jump in the ocean or what?
With a ship map it would be cool if there was a slight sway to the screen to represent a ship on the ocean sailing away.
I explained that. Both exit gates could be in the below indoors levels of the ship(s?), with each exit having 4 motorboats there. A map like this would obviously need a unique way the Survivors make their exit, in this case being motorboats. When in a regular map the Survivor escapes, they run off into the distance, but in this map they hop in one of the 4 motorboats and drive off immediately, The Entity not allowing the Killer to go after them, obviously.

No Mither needs jeezuz 🤣 but I got ideas for the other perks.
Distortion should allow you to gain Tokens through Safe Hook Rescues.
Wake up needs a rework, something like you charge the perk after being in the Killers Terror Radius for 30 seconds. Once activated, when you receive a Basic Attack you reveal the Killer's aura for 5/10/15 seconds.
Thoughts? 🤔
Actually I preferred if Wake Up kept the exit gate opening speed, but somehow make it better. Or if they ever nerf the hatch and keys, it could also be the only perk that allows the hatch to be instantly opened instead of doing a small animation of unlocking it. Kind of like other certain perks allow small things to happen, such as Ace In The Hole allowing you to leave with your add-ons.
-
No Mither, Distortion and maybe Wake Up!

If they nerf Corrupt Intervention or Pop Goes The Weasel, it's going to piss off the killers just like the ruin change. It's used because gens can go by fast if they are facing competent survivors.
The current Ruin is not even bad lol. Back before the Ruin change, I kept getting matches where Bubbas literally camped Ruin, but didn't kill or hurt anyone. And, of course, having to constantly hit great skill checks was the biggest horror of everyone's lives.
I believe Corrupt Intervention is fine, but PGTW should get a rework, like a 120 second cooldown or something. Imagine demolishing a generator that was worked on hard only because you managed to hook 2 survivors under 40/50/60 seconds. Pro survivor tip to those who hate PGTW: use Repressed Alliance. Underrated godlike perk.
-
People who are toxic for the sake of being toxic should low-key visit a doctor or something lol.
-
A Survivor Perk I came up with while I was bored, I thought it would be a pretty fun perk to use.
I'm not good with names though, so the name is temporary.
_____________________
Overclocked
- Every time you are within the Killer's Terror Radius while they kick a generator, you gain 1 Token.
- You can gain up to 5 Tokens.
- Each Token grants a 3/4/5% repair speed bonus, up to a total of 15/20/25%.
- When repairing a generator for 5 seconds, 1 Token is consumed.
_____________________
Oh, and here's another Survivor Perk I came up with a long time ago, and many people seemed to like it. I added a few extra things to it, which may or may not make the same people dislike it, but I'll let you be the judge.
_____________________
Feasting Time
With all the food in your stomach, you suddenly become very energetic. However, you also lose focus and you become vulnerable.
- Cleansing a Dull Totem grants you 1 Token. Cleansing a Hex Totem grants you 2 Tokens.
- You can gain up to 10 Tokens. (( Before, this was 8 Tokens due to there only being 4 possible Hex Totems, but with a new perk coming this next update it would be possible to get 10 Tokens, with there only being 5 Totems in a trial. ))
- Each Token grants a 3/4/5% action speed bonus to repairing, opening Exit Gates, opening Chests, overall cleansing, unhooking, healing, entering and exiting Lockers, waking yourself or others up from the Dream World, tampering with Bear Traps and slow Vaulting, up to a total of 30/40/50%.
- Each Token will considerably / moderately / slightly spawn your Scratch Marks closer together for the Killer. (( Meaning, a level one version of this perk would be twice as effective as the Killer's Predator perk. ))
- Being hooked by the Killer consumes all Tokens. (( This was difficult to decide on, so I'll leave it up for debate. Obviously there needs to be some sort of way to lose tokens, otherwise it's too overpowered. ))
- Additionally, having less than 5 Tokens while Feasting Time is active, Skill Checks are 50% more silent to you. Having more than 5 Tokens while Feasting Time is active, Great Skill Checks will no longer be possible and overall Skill Checks are 100% silent.

That.. makes no sense. And that's your personal opinion.
What? What makes no sense? The fact that I want to spend less bloodpoints, which clearly happens if the bloodweb doesn't show me 5 Very Rare items/offerings because of my character being P3? It is my opinion, but I don't see why it wouldn't make any sense. It's literally how the Prestige system works. xD
-
@Desh said:
I like losing my stuff all over again. It's nice to start from the bottom and play around with Tier 1 - 2 perks.
On top of that, you essentially stated the purposes of Prestige. To get a better chance at having better items and getting their bloody skins. That's all it was designed for.
But better items cost more BP and I want to spend less BP.
Not prestiging your character clearly helps in this, if you're someone who doesn't spam Purple Flashlight every single match, or use Ultra Rare add-ons as Killer in each match.

I only lose some add-ons. Once I get level 50 I start using my items and offerings then once they are all used up, I prestige and use those extra BP's right away to start leveling again. That's been my method. ☺
I've been doing this, too, but I decided I won't prestige my main further, this being Jeff, thanks to somebody on the forums who suggested I should main him.

I am only prestiging my caracters because I want to have a bloody shirt, but it truly don't have a purpose and the majority agree with you.
Knowing this forum, I thought many people will disagree with me.
But prestiging characters only for a bloody outfit, flexing on others and having to pay more bloodpoints for items later (because rarer items become more frequent) is truly really worthless and has no purpose.
Let me also mention you lose all your items and perks in the process.

Also Ace's bloody hat goes really well with his dark red suit.
It's pretty safe to say you can blend even without bloody clothes if you're on a dark map + Claudette with any dark clothes.
So yeah, valid point, but still worthless. I realized this after I had all of my characters on P2.
I won't do the same for Killers, once I switch sides.
-
Do the same with Kindred, remove Mori's and turn Cypress Mori into base kit for Killers, remove or at least nerf Keys by having to go through an animation to open the hatch, and only one person can escape, delete NOED...
...And this game would be perfection.

You should do Jeff! There are so few Jeff mains out there and his perks are extremely underrated. Breakdown's very niche, but Distortion and Aftercare in particular are two that I love to run. Distortion rewards good knowledge of the game in a way that few other perks do, especially when you care share that info with SWF mates.
Thank you! I will main Jeff, although I will continue getting all the cosmetics for Jane. I absolutely adore her. ❤️

The fact that people upvoted this load of bs amazes me.
If one side refuses to progress the match, that is taking the game hostage. It's the same as if a killer blocked a survivor in a corner and refused to let them play. It's a bannable offense, as stated in the rules.
'Camping and tunneling' ENDS the match one way or another. The survivor dies, they move on. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you meant 4k slugging, forcing all four to bleed out. Dick move, yes, but the survivor still dies in the end, and can move on.
It is not difficult to hide from the killer, if that is the intention. Especially on maps with lower visibility, such as corn maps, or Yamoaka.
I'm all for the killer being allowed to trigger EGC after a certain amount of time has passed, just so this situation doesn't happen. And it does happen.
Your opinion is similar to all the others that responded to me.
I'm not saying you or they are wrong, but allow me to say that it's rather unfair the way it is, to be honest.
The game is in favor of the Killer 90% of the time, the remaining 10% being situations like these, pallets, SWF, certain perks, flashlights and among other small things that somehow make the game "not fun" for Killers.
It's funny. Things that Killers do and Survivors hate aren't bannable or punishable, but things that Survivors do that Killers hate will always be bannable or punishable one way or another.
Is that quite fair to you? Then again, I don't think a game like Dead by Daylight will ever be fair to both parties.
It is a 1v4 game after all, in which the game is in favor of the "minority"
-
I don't run Object, but I tried it, and it's very bad. Might be just me and my communication skills sucking a lot, but honestly I don't see the appeal of this perk other than constantly seeing the Killer and the Killer constantly seeing you.
Why use this perk? Seriously? To tell every time the Killer scratches their balls or something?
There's nothing good about this perk, other than to force the Killer to tunnel you and viciously nod their head at you.
For once, I finally agree with the Supreme High Court of Killers. Bad perk, tbh.

So when I see that a killer brings a Mori, I always bully them due to how many times I used to be insta Moried at the begining of the game. But...I've found that if a killer has a cool cosmetic, I don't mind being moried... Like especially if the cosmetic is new, I'd actually love to see it in a Mori. For example. I had two games. Both killers were Oni. Both brought a Mori. One had default skin, one had the Minotaur skin. I was mad that I got Moried with the default skin and literally crawled to make it so a barrel was blocking the whole Mori. But with the Minotaur one, I love the skin so much that I intentionally went down in a dead zone so I could also clearly see the Mori. It was sick and I didn't even mind it. I left that round thinking of how cool that skin is and how nice it looked in the Mori.
Is that wrong of me?
I don't see it being wrong but please don't purposely go and game-end yourself and mess up your teammates' match only because you wanted to see the Mori combined with a new skin, lmao.

Before the killers got locked in lobby, you could switch to Freddy, since sleeping survivors gat a blue/white outline and cannnot hide efficiently. Sadly thats no longer possible. Does predator really help against that? I would say Bloodhound, Stridor or Whispers are better picks in case of Blendettes ^^.
Well, I always get confused when they run at me suddenly and I instantly lose them because of how weird the camera angle is for Killers. So yeah, Predator helps tracking where they go. But I agree, the other perks you listed are also quite useful.

I had exactly such a game maybe a week ago. Playing with two blendettes, and as soon as I was dead and they were the only left, they refused to do any gens and crouched around the map the whole time (with urban, of course), for more than 15 mintues. Eventually I befriended the killer and tried to tell him where they were hiding, it still took quite some time until they were finally sacrificed (bc. I could only messge him).
You did the right thing, to be honest. I may be a Survivor main, but even I hate Blendettes. Seriously, worst character ever. Every time I see them as Killer, I literally have to up my monitor's brightness by like 200, and use a useless perk like Predator to properly see where they run off to.

Are you serious? Or are you one of the survivors who does this? 2 survivors literally ninja around the map, and unless you're a killer who can make them appear somehow, EG: Doc, you're stuck wandering for ages hoping someone makes a mistake and shows themself. Killers can't exactly force a Gen to pop can they? If it was 1 single survivor, then sure, they can ninja all they like but the game would end because killer has access to closing the hatch and letting EGC count to 0. 2 survivors left not touching gens leaves the killer with no options.
Oh, boo hoo. Give me a break. I have never had a game like that in my life. Not as a Killer, not as a Survivor. However much I tried to "ninja around the map" either alone or with a friend to attempt great escape, we still tried to do generators (because we were working together in the first place) but even if we didn't, the Killer would've still found one of us. Must be just the trash way I play, although from the looks of it it still would've been trash if I tried to play the hiding game, eh?

Not to mention the fact that many Killers will repeatedly slug until they find the other person and/or the Hatch. People obsess so much over "winning," even if you get a 4k - it wouldn't be worth two hours. As The Killer, I will let them escape because it isn't worth my time. I don't need a 3 or 4 kill match to validate me. I'd rather move on. Same as Survivor, I'm the one that will openly make noise just to get killed so I can move on bc I value my time and not necessarily so the other Survivor can get the Hatch. If they escape, great for them. I've done this many times and usually I get slugged for the aforementioned reasons. Hook me and let me the match progress but again people obsess so much with their perception of winning at any cost.
If they're sweating off their balls to get that 4k, instead they should just AFK and go watch YouTube or something in the meantime. That's what I would do, instead of complaining about something I've personally literally never experienced, but 90% of people here somehow have and it being a "serious issue" (Red ranks, by the way). Seriously, what's gonna happen if you don't get a 4k? Ruin your precious 2 win record?

Up votes mean that people agree with you. Shouldn't you be happier or something? You got more than I did!
-
@TheButcher said:
It's been a serious problem. Any amount of gen's left, but only 2 survivors remaining. The two survivors will hide, and refuse to do gens. Just to have a chance at getting the free win from the hatch. Taking the game hostage, or until the Killer finds one of them.
Just played in a match for 2 hours, simply because I had nothing better to do anyways (so I wasn't forced to DC). Wanted to see how long it would go for, and when I could actually find one.
@Peanits Any dev's want to explain to me again why adding the hatch to stop players from taking the game hostage was a good idea even in the first place? Because imo it did nothing but cause players to take the game hostage anyway they can for the easy/free win.
How is that taking the game hostage? It's clearly a strategy for Survivors, just like camping, tunneling and slugging are strategies for Killers.
Taking you two hours to finish a game just means you're bad at Killer, no offense.
