Woah there, son. That sounds like something only a flashlight clicking, tea bagging, DS using survivor main would say! You can't possibly view things from both sides! /s

Woah there, buddy, partner, friend, pal. Don't go around assuming things and being on a high horse! Where's your video proof that I am THAT kind of a Survivor main? Do you have video proof? Evidence, pal, evidence. Evidence is key.

According to the devs "camping and tunneling is a strategy".

The funniest thing the devs ever said. I'd like to see themselves play as Survivors in their own game, getting camped to death each game.

  • @Zeus said:

Don't blame the killers. Every time they try and play a different killer to not make it annoying for the survivors, they get t-bagged and pointed at and bullied and BM'd. It's the survivor's own doing.

Hmm yeah, the Killers can never be blamed, to be honest... They're immortal, untouchable. You cannot disrespect the High Council of Killers.

  • Would you rather remove Object of Obsession and buff Decisive Strike, or remove Decisive Strike and buff Object of Obsession?

Imagine if you were given this option.

I don't think so. Seems fine to me.

Also it isn't trash situational, it's probably the best perk in the game.

Trash was an overstatement, my apologies.

But situational, that much is true, since you can only use it when the Killer picks you up during a certain time.

  • Oh no, seriously? Doctor is a really dirty Killer imo, with his pesky Survivor-finding abilities. :c

@Godot The devs have confirmed that its not holding the game hostage

disagree all you want be we've gotten a public statement on this

I do agree that its a dick move but the game is still progressing and as such not held hostage and as such not reportable in any way shape or form

I never said it's officially holding the game hostage.

It's quite the dick move, is what I'm getting at.

It just shows that you either have a bad temper or a very toxic attitude, if you do this to the last Survivor, at least.

The game is not held hostage the slug is dying and i continue to run after the other survivor so i can kill all of them and if the slug is the last one and i still refuse to hook him the game is still progressing.

If you still think this is holding the game hostage then every time a survivor t bag at the exit gate or on the hatch then the are holding the game hostage too and this happen more often at least for me

    I disagree.

I think it's a good time to call on that one guy who always talks about "whataboutism" because I think this is a good example for that.

Just chase the Survivors out who t-bag at the exit. It's not that big of a deal, unless you're lazy, mad or easily offended.

As a Killer, you are still holding the game hostage because you are the higher, more powerful being in the match. You can choose whether to kill dying Survivors or not, and it takes much more time for a Survivor to bleed out than to simply chasing them out the exit.

    Smh.

  • We need a middle finger emote to trigger Killers who nod and play toxic.

You would also be able to use this gesture while on hook.

  • When I give up, I don't wiggle.

If the Killer slugs me, I disconnect and take a break.

    Simple as that.

Then it must be just me. I may be able to escape against most Doctors nowadays, but I have this feeling that he's quite a dirty Killer, especially those Doctors who come with add-ons that speed up the recovery of the "Static Blast"

I hope it's not an entitled thing to say that I think his power is a bit dirty and unfair, at least the Static Blast part, but oh well.

I think most people want SWF to have drawbacks, since you literally gain like 10 perks for free with voice communication. Even if you aren't using coms SWF is still very strong, because you know you can depend on your teammates. Everything you do as a survivor will be enhanced, even the perks. I've played 4-man SWF and it honestly feels quite dirty how much information you have the entire game. Only way the killer could have defeated us was if he did good snowball at the beginning but even that could most of the time be avoided by spreading out and doing 4 generators individually.

I'm one of those typical "I play both sides equally" type of guys. It's strange, because I agree with Survivors but I also agree with Killers. I just can't deny anything. DS, DH and all of these perks are annoying, but I use it too. SWF are really annoying, but I play with friends optimally, too. It's strange.

  • I don't know why people stopped using Hillbilly. Before the nerf he was my main. I used him after the update too and I had no problem. Red ranks, by the way.

  • Dumb question: Wouldn't nerfing SWF make the game unfun for people who love playing with friends? I remember people suggesting to remove overall SWF which is the dumbest idea ever.

  • Lol I eat Decisive Strike. It's tasty.

  • Never. Thank God.

I'm bored. Here's my list of changes I wish would happen:

    Graphics:

    • Optimized graphics as much as possible (kind of a duh thing, but I realize it's very hard)
    • Updated the animations for locker grabbing (bug eyes are such a
    • Every killer has a few animations for wiping blood off, randomly chosen after a hit

    New Gameplay Features:

    • Indoor maps now have generators that have cables running to the 3 nearest generators instead of the light-pole on top. Completed generators will have their cables light up, dimming slowly as they get closer to an uncompleted generator
    • Indoor maps' crows now fly out into a nearby hallway and up into an air duct. This makes logical sense and gives the killer an idea of where survivors are, similar to outdoor maps
    • Added a new practice mode where you can play against bots or by yourself
    • Disconnected players are replaced by bots similar to mobile DBD
    • While hooked, you will gain "bait" bloodpoints in the survival category for each 10 seconds (totaled up once you're unhooked or sacrificed) while the killer is within 32m of you. Consolation prize for being camped
    • Players that are playing SWF are shown connected at the end game screen, and player's console are shown instead of a Globe
    • Bringing someone up from the dying state doesn't use a healing animation but a 'pick up' one. This also gives bonus bloodpoints the same as an unhook.

    --PERK BALANCE--

    • Perks besides the 3 'natural' ones the character starts with are always Tier 3 on the bloodweb

    Survivor perk balance

    • Decisive Strike - is disabled upon repairing a generator or rescuing a player, but pauses the duration during chase
    • We're Going to Live Forever - *keeps the token system* but no longer gives bonus bloodpoints. Rather gives you an ability to remove exhaustion for 1 token. Activate the power button while exhausted to shave 10/13/15 seconds off of your exhaustion, removing a token. No maximum tokens.
    • Object of Obsession - (shamelessly stolen from Otz) When being chased, every other survivor can see your aura. If you are Obsession, all other survivors get a speed boost of 2 / 3 / 4% action speed to healing, repairing and sabotaging.
    • This is Not Happening - also moves the Great Skill zone in the middle between the Good Skill Check zone
    • Slippery Meat - removed. A hangover from a game that is very different.
    • Sole Survivor - also prevents the Heartbeat notification
    • Lucky Break - also prevents you from leaving scratch marks for 4/5/6 seconds after being injured
    • No Mither - stops grunts of pain by 50/75/100% instead, and also prevents screaming
    • Baby Sitter - lasts 6/8/10 seconds instead, and also prevents the killer from seeing the rescued survivor's aura for the duration
    • Up The Ante - can't think of anything, but this needs a change

    Killer Perk Balance

    • BBQ and Chili - no longer gives extra BP, but reveals auras for 4/5/6 seconds
    • Discordance - reversed the duration from 8/10/12 seconds to 12/10/8 seconds. Subsequent notification sounds are a little quieter than the first one
    • No One Escapes Death - works on a token system equal to the remaining totems. Putting a survivor into dying state removes 1 token. At 0 tokens they are no longer exposed, but you retain your speed boost until the hex totem is gone.
    • Cruel Limits - increased the area to 40 meters
    • Overwhelming Presence - also increases item rate consumption outside your terror radius by 0/25/50%
    • Mindbreaker - works on all gens, not just ones with less than 50% completion
    • Hangman's Trick - also increases the time it requires to sabotage a hook by 10/20/30%
    • Beast of Prey - also reduces the time required for Bloodlust by 1/2/3 seconds
    • Zanshin Tactics - is no longer disabled upon injuring a survivor
    • Territorial Imperative - also increases the time it takes to unhook survivors by 50/100/150% while outside 32m of the basement
    • Furtive Chase - the reduction of terror radius is permanent, not only during chase. It is no longer turned off once the obsession is dead - still capped at 4 tokens (16m terror radius reduction)
    • Gearhead - requires only 1 hit
    • Monstrous Shrine - removed
    • Shadowborn - also increases the game's brightness

    Survivor Balance:

    • Survivors no longer spawn right next to generators, but closer to the edges of the map
    • Purple Keys take 10 seconds to open the hatch, close upon going in
    • Red Keys take 5 seconds, also close upon going in
    • Added a "bleed out" option once a dying survivor is nearly fully recovered, which increases their bleeding rate

    Killer Balance:

    • Moris have been removed. Yellow Moris are always on, i.e. The option to kill a survivor is available if they are the last one remaining
    • Spirit - removed from the game (jk). Idk, maybe just make it harder to hear and scratch marks are further apart?
    • Trapper - he starts with 2 traps, and can hold up to 2.
    • Legion - reduces the stun from 4 seconds to 3 seconds

    Map Balance:

    • Midwich: lights properly flicker near generators that aren't fixed. Added stairs connecting the courtyard to the upper floors
    • Haddonfield: reduced the amount of long fences

    Addon balance:

    • jesus too much to list, let's stop here

If you read all that, bless you

Aside from removing extra BP from certain perks, I like these ideas.

I'm not sure about the keys and hatch idea though, but I guess if this was a thing, it would actually have a cool little animation with the survivor trying to unlock the hatch.

The Spirit idea made me laugh. #RemoveSpirit

And, well, some people might hate me for this but... #RemoveLegion

Ya agreed something like that would't work but maybe they do something to force them to do bones. Each time a totem is cleansed a generator is allowed to be repaired. Doesn't sound to difficult however it randomly unlocks a generator and you don't know which one. So more bones the better, more unlocked.

No, that doesn't sound fun to me. Some totems immediately spawn in front of the Survivor, that's one of the issues with this. The other being that there's 5 totems, and the Killer uses Hex perks. If all Survivors do is find all bones to "unlock" the generators, Hex perks like NOED and many others have no chance of used or even being activated. And putting more than 5 totems in a match just seems like overkill to me.

Let me also mention that the Killer can camp the last totem that would be used to unlock the last generator, meaning the match is never going to end. That is, unless, there's more than 5 totems.

  • @Pulsar said:

While I don't blame Survivors for doing their only objective (besides totems), there have been times where I have felt that I couldn't do anything better. In my opinion, if you take 4 perfect Survivors and one perfect Killer and put them on a Killer other than the top tier one's (Nurse, Billy, Spirit ect ect), the Survivors will almost always win simply because the Killer's objective is far more difficult than the Survivors objective.

Again, I don't blame Survivors for doing their job, but they need something else to do.

It's up to BHVR, but I feel like coming up with more "objectives" for Survivors is going to be a bit difficult for a game like this, unless they revamp the whole system. And plus, some of these ideas for objectives may be cool but it can be easily exploited by Killers, say for example Survivors' new/side objective being to repair a vehicle. The Killer could very much be able to camp the vehicle if they so wished to.

  • @xenotimebong said:

Yeah, some people get serious tunnel vision, refuse to drop a chase and follow one guy for minutes at a time, then complain about gen rushing at the end. I’ve even had killers who camped hooks complain about gen rushing, lol. It’s like survivors who make bone headed plays and blame the fact that they died on camping/tunnelling. They just don’t want to admit that the reason they lost is because they played badly.

Bad Killers who tunnel and complain about gen-rushing vs. Bad Survivors who complain about camping/tunneling.

    image.png

  • @Zeus said:

I do think a lot of killers who think gen speeds are quick don't really tunnel. Besides if it's a good survivor team, your chances of winning are super slim no matter how optimal you play. Maybe that's why a lot of people play nurse and spirit.

T'was more a personal look on the matter. Me and my buddies don't always play optimally and there's no shame in admitting that, but even so we must be doing something "right" if the Killer in the end complains about being gen-rushed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/184224/i-can-see-why-people-dislike-the-ebony-mori-now-but-hey-fair-play

“It’s quite fair, especially if the killer is really good” that sentence there....if a killer is “really good” then they wouldn’t need a mori, let alone tunnel people off hook for a mori. If they are “really good” then there wouldn’t be As much gen rushing because you’d know how to counter it and put pressure on without a tunnel and a Mori.

Personally I prefer the challenge of hooking everyone 3 times, putting the pressure on, the chases and just learning to get better. Like you pointed out, tunnelling everyone for a mori is boring especially when there are so many gens left. What’s the point in playing if you want the game over that fast. Each to their own though.

Even good Killers can be genrushed and you can't deny this. Especially if they don't use a certain Killer or certain perks to counter genrushing.

If they meet the criteria, then yes, good Killers don't get genrushed "as much"

I did go againt an entitled p3 Oni main who accused me and the randoms of genrushing while he brought a Mori and tunneled everyone until their deaths, after first hook. He still had 3 generators, let me mention that, too. That's when I went and played those Killer matches I mentioned.

That's why I compared genrushing and mori. They both end the game fast and it is rather unfun.

And, i'm no expert, but genrushing can be countered. Mori can't.

I have to agree. Hearing killer's footsteps seems unnecessary. However I love how well I can hear survivors'

Now now, don't take a side so quickly. Survivors hearing the footsteps of the Killer doesn't really do much, since there's terror radius, red stain and everything else, so if that gets removed, then the survivors' footsteps should be made quieter, too!

  • Yes, I think the audio is a bit messed up or refined. I'm not sure which one it is, but I vote for messed up, because the footsteps of the Killer are the most annoying thing I've seen (and heard) in this game since Legion Thanatophobia/Dying Light combo.
