If there ever is a Dead by Daylight 2, I won't pay for it.
If anything, they should make it an extension. Don't pull a Blizzard and make Overwatch 2, which is a game you have to pay for.
-
What a wholesome and weird post.
I do ship Jane and myself though.
8^)
-
I like this way of thinking but perhaps it wouldn't fit in the lore and in the game to have non-human survivors.
-
There's still a lot of bugs to fix in 3.7.0.
-
Betting it's April 29th, same time Tome 3 starts.

Honestly I went on a small hiatus because I got a bit burned playing DBD everyday ^^;, it felt like I wasn't really progressing much anymore but after hearing about the Bloodhunt I decided to go back to playing it again.
And man did it feel good. Reaching 1 Million BP every couple of matches as Killer helped me able to grind enough to get every teachable perk in the game, which means I can finally start prestiging my favourite killers and survivors.
Thank you for this BHVR, a lot of people may have dislike you guys for what you choose to change and not change about the game as well as what you choose to add or remove. But it's a tough job, balancing a game like this will never be easy.
But the fact that you guys cared enough to give us this long event to keep up entertained at home, just shows you guys care more about the community than most other multiplayer games I play.
Once again, thank you. Hopefully everyone got enough bloodpoints to get through the harsh initial grind! If you guys see me in the Western Australia region, I hope to have some more fun and interesting games. Which I also have been having a lot recently ^^
It's good to see a nice post and it's good to see someone actually posting about how they enjoy the game instead of poking fun at it and yelling at the developers for having a life.
See you in the fog!

Don't bother replying to that guy.
He loves his moris and he will use every argument that ever exists to win it if you argue with him about the mori.
-
This is why people hate Freddy.
( My team was lucky enough to do two generators. I was playing solo, by the way. )
-
A lot of killers recently have realized how good NOED is and because people don't do the bones, it's very easy to get it activated and screw everyone over.
So yes, do the bones.

I suggested this once already, except I also buffed it, not just simply "made it a Hex".
@Godot said:
Before you attack me, please read all of it! Thank you.
Every Killer runs this perk, but it's not THAT great, unless you're using Legion or some other Killer that moves around the map quickly. Sure, it does slow the game down, but I think it could be even better. Maybe it could be a different version of the old Ruin.
I was thinking, what if we turned Thanatophobia into a Hex perk (I always thought it would fit it better, since the icon for it is a bunch of skulls), but made it much stronger in terms of it's ability. Instead of it giving 3% / 3.5% / 4% reduced action speed for each injured Survivor there is, make it 4% / 4.5% / 5% or even higher (9% / 9.5% / 10%?), for a total of 16% / 18% / 20%.
Why would this be a good thing?:
- As I said, it could be like the old Ruin. As a Survivor, you have to find a totem otherwise repairing generators would be slow for the entire game, as long as someone is injured.
- " Well yeah, but the Survivors can just find this instantly and- " Not so fast. To make it better, the Hex Totem would only be placed down at a location if the Killer injures a Survivor. Said Totem would spawn as far away as possible from the Survivors. This way the Survivors can't instantly find it and it will slow the game down drastically if they don't cleanse said totem.
- The Survivors would only get a notification of this totem existing, if they are repairing a generator.
Why would it be a buff?:
- The ability would be much stronger than it already is.
Why would it be a nerf?:
- It would be turned into a Hex perk.
I would like your honest thoughts on this. I personally think this would be fair for both Survivors and Killers. If you have any ideas on how to make it better, or if you suggest that you don't want it to be changed at all, you are free to suggest it in a reply!
Check it out, if interested.

If it's not even bait, then it's just really really sad.
Please uninstall DBD and play some Minecraft.
-
A lot of people that actually play Freddy seem to have a very sweaty play-style. It's not even the fact that it slows the game down or whatever others think, It's that some people really feel into it and tunnel and camp and use his powers in such a way to make it not fun at all for the survivors going against him. All in all it's just boring. Oh yeah, and getting him about three games in a row is also pretty boring, lmao.

I meant a way to disable it from the options. So it never shows up. At all.

BHVR seem to follow a pattern between alternating between a couple of licensed releases, then a couple of originals, then a couple of licensed. I think that pattern, Tony Todd's twitter, the Candyman reboot's release date, everything lines up a bit too well IMO for it to not be a Candyman chapter.
While I also enjoy their original Killers a lot too (and there are obvious advantages, like more freedom being possible with designs), licensed Killers also present interesting opportunities for how exactly they'll be implemented and how to adapt their concepts into DbD, and that also has benefits beyond just the financial ones.
I mean, the Obsession mechanic might not exist without the Halloween DLC, for example.
You've made good points there.
Then again, since the Obsession mechanic came with the Halloween DLC, then I hope more new mechanics come with future releases. I personally don't even care about the perks or cosmetics anymore. Only the power and any new mechanics.
-
I'm not surprised this one has the most votes.

Thanatophobia is a must. It's pretty much a meta perk for the Legion.
The other perks, I wouldn't know. No Legion is Legion without Thanatophobia.
-
That there is the famous case of RUBBERING back into the window after a vault.
This won't happen next update.

I think survivors should fight back, the game is too killer sided. Why the killers can kill us but we cant kill them? Its really unfair, please nerf killers so they cant kill us anymore at least.Giving survivors mori should be a decent change. So tired of these killer buffs when survivors cant even kill #########?What needs to be done to get some balance in this game?
Killers can kill because it's in their title. "Killer".
Survivors can't kill because they're exactly just that: survivors.
I personally wouldn't even be able to imagine a way to "kill" The Entity's creatures and creations, although in that sense it would probably be an epic display, except it wouldn't really make sense lore-wise and gameplay-wise and anything-wise.

As the title says: y u mad bro?
I've been playing this game a lot. 1300 hours and still going up (God help me). I've seen quite a lot of frustrating things that really get to me. Getting Face camped for no reason, hit through windows, bad team mates, the works. My question is what makes everyone mad in this game and what do you do about it? Whether you're killer or survivor. Do you lash out in end game? Take a break for a while to cool off? Laugh it off and move on? I just had a game as Deathslinger and was getting dumpstered. I'll admit I got my tunnel on a little bit. More so when you get unhooked in front of me, I loose you and you're still running into me. Got blasted for it in the end game chat relentlessly. Instead of getting mad I just laughed, in-game reported and screenshotted the chat for a ticket. He was rather vulgar, even to my mother :(.
Bottom line I guess is I'm trying to figure out what would cause someone to blast another for playing their role in the game, however it was done. Feel free to share some of the reasons you lashed out or were lashed out at. I'm curious to read why :P
Have faith, especially with the upcoming update.
Might not be a survivor sided one, but a lot of maps are being changed, and so is the entire game for that matter.
One of these things being vaulting.
Rubbering back to the window will not happen anymore and the famous vaulting perk build can be put to use more now.
-
Two wise words coming from a player who plays both sides equally:
git gud.
Peanits is right, by the way.
-
I love all of your threads and I love the way you think, but the reason why Legion needs a rework is beyond me.
I think Legion is just fine the way it currently is, but I do like your idea! The power, however, doesn't really fit them, as it would look oddly supernatural. They look pretty survivor-like already and have the same height. If the Legion had the ability to disguise themselves as survivors, I don't know, it just wouldn't feel right to me.
-
I second this, I saw clips of it. It's actually only when facing the doctor. Hope they fix it.
-
If things were really in the Survivors' favor, Killers wouldn't have stuff like the Ebony/Ivory Mori, perks like Pop Goes The Weasel or NOED, there wouldn't be camping or tunneling from the Killer side, and they also wouldn't have fixed exploitable loops. Oh yeah, they also wouldn't have the Hillbilly as a Killer.
So what's the big fuss about? Why call out people because of a fix that is healthy to the game?
-
I said I played over it, not read over it. I didn't even know that section existed. Everything should be included in the playable tutorial. Nobody reads things anymore.
Regardless, my point stands about Moris. Lol.

stop lying to urself, ruin was nerf'd. while it was "reworked" it was made WEAKER, AND they still kept it a hex perk even tho its weaker. old ruin didnt force anyone to hit ANY SKILL CHECKS as u could tap m1 over and over to bypass ruin tho it was slower to do WHICH WAS THE POINT.
" And Rank 20 new players probably didn't know what totems even were" did u know theres a Tutorial in the game??? sooo if they skipped over that then thats there fault.
u said "The old Ruin forced them to hit great skill checks, which was in my opinion unfair for them" what about killers??? or even new killers?? how unfair is it for them to play vs SwFs??? vs double second chance perks??? killers only get 1 which is NoED which can be taken out.
I played over the tutorial.
It, IN FACT, did not teach about the totems at all to new players.
That, or I am really blind.

why do u think they need a nerf when ruin just got nerf'd?
Ruin was not nerfed, it was reworked. This is because there were people who were Rank 16 or above (because they didn't play the game for a while and have deranked, or deranked themselves on purpose) but still had the Hex: Ruin perk unlocked and used. This confused actual new players because they can't constantly hit great skill checks like us, more experienced players. The old Ruin forced them to hit great skill checks, which was in my opinion unfair for them. And Rank 20 new players probably didn't know what totems even were, so they wouldn't even be able to get rid of Ruin in the first place.
As for the Mori, I think they could nerf it to make it available after two unhooks of someone, or just get rid of the thing and make Cypress Memento Mori base kit. This is just my own opinion though.
You could also still use Devour Hope to mori players though. That perk's rarely used anyway.

OG Mori's let u Mori without having to have had hooked a survivor. MEANING game starts down survivor then mori.
again Mori's where alrdy nerf'd leave them alone
Nah, I think they need more of a nerf and I don't think people will let them go THAT easily.

Survivors don't get ultra rare offerings.. If anything, Killer offerings in general should just be overhauled.
1) When burned; the entity offers protection over all hooks preventing them from being sabotaged
2) When burned; The Entity increases the speed at which it consumes each hooked survivor. Greatly decreasing the time it takes to kill a survivor on the hook by 10/15/20 seconds
3) When burned; Increases the amount of totems on the map by 1/2/3 totems.
4) When burned; The entity graces the killer with two basements to devour its pray.
5) When burned; All survivors start the match with the broken status for 10/20/30 seconds.
1. I'd say slow the speed down instead of making it unusable. I have a feeling this offering would be overused a billion times and this also makes the sabotaging daily rituals not finishable.
2. The problem is match speeds. This would also increase the "speed" of a match, in a sense. That is exactly what we don't want.
3. I'd be fine with this one. But then we would need some sort of survivor perk to indicate how many totems there are on the map, like Thrill of the Hunt.
4. Two basements? Only if there's a higher rarity than Ultra Rare. Then I'd make this into an offering.
5. Again, speed of a match. Do you have any idea how fast a Killer can find survivors ESPECIALLY with high map pressure killers? (Hillbilly, etc.) Everyone being broken for 30 seconds, the first few survivors can be easily downed with M1 and also it makes no sense to be suddenly healed after the broken state. Oh yeah, insta down killers are also a thing anyway..

This. Although I would just stipulate that you can only mori a survivor that is on death hook, because if they struggle to phase 2 then you can't mori them if 2 hooks was the stipulation. I'd also make the current Cypress Mori basekit and change Cypress Mori offering to allow the killer to mori a survivor during EGC regardless of whether that survivor has been hooked.
However, I think they need to change both mori's and keys at the same time because they are both dumb. Keys I would add a 10 second channel animation to open the hatch and using a key would trigger EGC. I would buff Broken Key to allow you to open the hatch ONLY IF you are the last survivor. Dull Key would only open the hatch for the guy with the key and close behind them. And Skeleton Key would only open the hatch for the guy with the key but faster (maybe 8 seconds), unless the key was used after the Exit Gates were powered in which case it would stay open until the killer closes it (for the 'Where'd They Go' achievement).
I'm down to make Cypress base kit.
But in exchange, make Kindred base kit for Survivors too.

Could you perhaps add rewards when you rank up? Shards, bloodpoints, etc. Currently, ranking up is practically useless and there is nothing to motivate the player to rank up, unless they are hunting for the rank 1 achievement.
My idea, is that every time when your rank resets you are rewarded with shards/bloodpoints. The higher the rank, the bigger the reward.
What do you guys think? I'd like to hear your opinions and ideas!
Yeah sure.
I don't see how this would harm anyone.
Rewards when ranking.
But maybe make it a one time thing, because some people can just lose a rank because of a bad match and gain it right back up in a good match.

Yeah, balanced. That's a funny way to describe him.
1. A lot of Killers lack map pressure, excluding perks.
2. It makes sense to not have a cooldown on chainsaw, I guess.
3. Yeah, I figured a chainsaw would cut you in half and not deeply wound you.
4. I feel you on this one.
5. No comment.
6. Regardless, he's still pretty jukeable if the Survivor knows more than the Killer.
-
Killers need an Ultra Rare offering to burn, so I'd say nerf it instead, even though I would be voting for it to be removed instead.
If removed, I would at least keep a Cypress Memento Mori, and also not make it secret.
Oh yeah, did I mention it's pointless to make the Mori offering secret? Lol.
Nobody uses Shroud of Separation, which is the other secret offering for Killer, so if anyone picks an offering, and it's hidden, then it's 99.9% a Mori.
If I had to pick nerf though, I'd maybe make it so that Moris can only happen after the second unhook and not the first one? Or maybe make it so that people are killable once all generators have been repaired. One of those two.
-
For The People is a really situational perk, that's the issue.
Most of the times the user might be injured too, or as you said it: people run away.
Waste of a perk slot.

For me, boring matches are those that end quickly. By all means, I am grateful that there are efficient killer players out there, but damn, how about they let the match go on for at least 5 minutes more, instead of 3 minutes..?
-
I play both survivor and killer and this does sound stupid, but I think it's fair.
If there's a match where the killer wins super fast, it's not fun for the survivors and in some cases it's not fun for the killer either.
But everyone thinks differently.
Personally the game is only a win for me as killer if I get more than 20k points and at least 2 kills.
