  • As serious as this is indeed, do try to ignore it.

It's just some keyboard warrior who disliked the fact that they got owned at the game.

    Ignore the bad comments.

Have a splendid week and flip that frown into a crown!

  • I am personally not opposed as I have already seen a post about this, unsure if it was you or someone else.

Sadly, a lot of people would dislike this even if this is just an idea, because "ooga booga unfitting, ooga booga fnaf sucks"

I like these perks, two of them are generator related which is all in all nice.

Mechanical Motives can be a bit overpowered though if combined with Pop Goes The Weasle.

Nowhere To Run seems to be a different version of Cruel Limits, except centered around blinding, which frankly, the game needs more perks that are centered around different and unique things, for example getting blinded and whatnot.

Hex: Death's Design can be easily obliterated at the start by a SWF who cleanse all totems just to make sure there's no NOED. Personally I would turn it into a regular perk and make it work like Blood Warden and have a long duration. Having to hook someone to block all remaining generators and it only works once.

    All in all, good idea!

The Power could be something related to traps, hence the name: Springtrap. I got no cool ideas for that though.

  • The players (new and old) have been coming in hot lately more than ever, despite the game having the same mechanics basically from launch.

I am going to compare it to a few games and don't be alarmed, it's obviously not gameplay wise: It's kind of like Left 4 Dead where the maps and survivors are same, but people still play that. Sure, there's all the extra modes like Realism and whatnot, and also the Steam Workshop to make stuff look super goofy, but DBD got cosmetics for that. Another example of a game that's totally not related to DBD but has had the same mechanic for years is Overwatch. Team and hero based shooter with different heroes and a couple of modes to mix and match up the gameplay. But the goal is all the same: eliminate the enemy team. Dead by Daylight is a survival game with survivors and a decent amount of killers and perks to mix up the gameplay. The goal is the same: As a survivor, you have to escape. As a killer, you have to kill everyone. I will agree to this though: After a long while (im talking years) of playing (which includes you have all killers, survivors up to P3-lvl50), it's completely understandable that you don't have the motivation to play.

If you want to play something else during quarantine, you definitely can and nobody is stopping you. A lot of people, myself included, have no problems about how the game is unchanged. After all, what you have to do is be appreciative with what you got, and it's a you-problem if you can't do that.

Maybe I am looking at it this way because I myself was only ever bored of this game once, and when I came back, I got addicted to it and I still am..?

My suggestion is, if you don't enjoy something you're doing, play something else.

    Good luck and stay safe!

  • git rekd, deatslingre maines

  • What?

Dead Hard is broken, and I don't mean it's overpowered, it just never works.

Might be just me and my friends with bad luck, but it doesn't work.

I like the idea but solo play hardly can be equal to top tier killers.

    P.S. bbq is op?

Not at all, it isn't. I just think aura revealing perks and exposing addons should be nerfed in a Competitive playstyle to make it difficult for the Killer too, not just the Survivor.

  • Hey, I think he's pretty fun to play as AND against. Lol.

  • @Brenonon said:

Michael Jackson for sure, just imagine him slowly moonwalking at you in a badass way while Hee-Heeing, it would be amazing.

He could Hee-Hee whenever he is hit by the Killer, yell in a high pitched voice when hooked, and say "Come on!" out loud when pressing 2 on your keyboard to beckon other Survivors.

  • @Semimatic said:

A lot of these perks would not work, and the killer needs to be more specific to the series. I think Dean would work better personality-wise, and that the chapter could work, but it wouldn't be a first pick in any way. These perks need to be reworked of yours the most, in my opinion:

    • Boomstick - Not only should a survivor not be carrying a weapon in general, but it's an unfair perk that can easily be renewed. It's literally a portable Decisive Strike with no boundaries other than the cooldown. Not only that, but although I like your logic, doing extra penalties to a specific killer is unfair.
    • Veteran - Revealing what the killer ability is would just be weird on the UI in my opinion, not only that, but why not make it an aura reading perk at that point? What's it doing, quizzing your knowledge? Not only that, but at the max tier of stunning for an extra 3 seconds... that's nuts. This and Boomstick being used in a SWF would be incredibly toxic, and just in general without SWF. Running this with DS or Boomstick is just sh*t.
    • Resurrection - I think you forgot that people typically leave the end-match lobby once they've died. Not only that, but this is incredibly unfair to the killer. It literally just undos an entire 1/4 of the killer's objective.
    • Lockpick - Not only would this be super useless because it only applies to bear traps, but Reverse Bear Traps being able to be removed? No f*cking way. That is literally disabling someone's power, and they can't even be removed by another person!

Not only that, but the killer power being reliant on generators and not able to be controlled by the killer is bad. I did a werewolf chapter idea as well (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/139470/werewolf-chapter-idea-images-included#latest - shameless self promotion). It doesn't mean that you have to use the active ability button or it has to be able to be toggled by a single button, but if this were only triggered by generators, it would be super slow and dull in the early stages and feel restraining. This would be a killer that is not usually played in red ranks, or any ranks for that matter due to how the ability is strengthened. For an ability to actually work, you need the killer to have some sort of control over it without it randomly activating/upgrading. Your goal as a killer is to make sure the generators aren't finished, and doing that job and then not gaining any power or ability leverage is just odd.

Supernatural in DBD? No. As someone who is a fan of the show, I just don't think it would really work. First, we shouldn't do another 2 survivor and 1 killer chapter. Second, Supernatural is a good show, but it's like picking the best ideas out of a worst ideas bin. The chapter based on everything you just listed? No.

Overall, I get that it's an idea, but Supernatural does not need to be in DBD. I absolutely love the effort you put into this so far, but a ton of things need to change for the actual concept. You should totally work on it some more because I feel like you can make this look really nice.

First off, thank you very much for your honest response! About your post, I've seen it several times and I read it a couple of times as well. I really love your concept and it would be great if BHVR added a community-made chapter, because some people just put loads of work into them and some get a lot of support.

About the perks, I did mention that I will be very bad at that part, so I hope you were at least prepared mentally before you read them. Lockpick was made a useless perk on purpose, because not many people pick Trapper or Pig. There are perks that are useless and only apply to a single Killer, for example Slippery Meat, which gives you more chance to escape from the hook or bear traps, but it's still pretty useless.

I tried to be as creative as possible with the perks and the Killer's ability, but I really appreciate your honest feedback!

I might not have much time to fix all the issues, but I will try to make everything better whenever I can. Lately I've been busy. I pretty much rushed all the ideas anyway.

I love Supernatural that is why I suggested it. Maybe don't make it 2 survivors and 1 killer, you could just pick some side character. Maybe Castiel, but he lost his angel powers?

No, it's not a troll. It's literally a personal opinion thead that you clicked on and read. I made the opinipns based on what killers I faced in red ranks, and how I'd play them personally.

It shouldn't really affect your daily life if I made the decision to put Oni where Trapper is.

Totally! With 9k per perk or even more expensive, it would still be worth, since the cost per tier isn't only the cost per each tier, but the cost per each bloodweb level you have to grind through.

It could just be 7k (Ultra Rare) or even 10k, yeah.

  • If you really think about it, this is an interesting and good idea.

I agree, perk tiers should go. Instead, make perks cost more. I'd say 5000 BP each, or something. Or 6000 if the tier 3 variant is what would stay in the final version.

  • I try to play both sides equally nowadays although I am more skilled as a survivor. However, I think since the bloodrush event, everyone became a bit crazy, let's be honest here.

As a survivor, I get to go against a slugging Hillbilly or any other killer that will go out their way to "ruin" the game as best as possible (although in reality they are just playing how they want to play), using meta perks, camping and tunneling. So far, I got less than 10,000 points every match. (Rank 2 Survivor, not boosted by the way.)

As a killer, I get to go against entitled surivor mains, always in the red ranks, but I get at least two Rank 1's. I get from 1 to 2 kills per match and less than 15,000 points unless I get that 3k or 4k. Every survivor uses meta perks, mainly Decisive Strike. (Rank 7 Killer, not boosted.)

Yet, I still am having fun. This is just a couple points I had to make.

You're clearly part of the problem making the community as toxic as can be. It's a shame your own kind are bringing down your game like this.... Such a shame.

    Mate, just leave. Nobody cares.

I've looked at the average concurrent players and it literally goes upwards every day.

  • As a killer, if survivors are toxic, be toxic.

As a survivor, if the killer is toxic, be toxic.

    Simple as.

    Play however you want.

I posted an exhaustion perk idea a while ago based on chase duration as I would like to see a (very rewarding) exhaustion perk survivors have to work for:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/133924/exhaustion-perk-idea-determined-prey

It triggers by dropping a pallet (so it requires resources) and gets activated after a total chase duration of x-seconds (so you have to work for it) and results in a 4 second sprint burst.

I was thinking about the same thing but not with a speed boost.

    Perk: Hard Slam

When dropping a pallet, the action is 5/10/15% faster and the Killer is stunned for an extra 2 seconds. Grants the Exhaustion status effect for 50/40/30 seconds. This perk can only be used while not Exhausted.

    Or something like that.

  • Not an old suggestion, definitely. Last people who suggested it were hammered for being distasteful and insensitive.

Sure, I agree, let's get some BP rolling in.

  • Yeah, I agree so far. Spark of Madness and Halloween are great.

For me, besides those, it's kind of difficult to decide.

I'm going to blow everyone's mind: A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Freddy is a great killer. His perks allow him to be stronger as the game goes on (Fire Up) and even let him to close the gates temporarily (Bloodwarden) if played well. He lags for me, though. And believe me, I have a good PC.

Quentin. Oh boy. People say his perks are useless. In reality, they're just stupidly situational but good for solo players.

    - Pharmacy is great when you remember the spot of a chest, hope that nobody will open it and once all your teammates are dead and EGC has little time left and you're also injured, you heal yourself and you can escape because you can take an extra hit.

    - Wake Up literally saved me 4 times in a row, with the extra speed it gives on opening Exit Gates. It also reveals your location when opening an exit gate. Perfect for solo players!

    - Vigil, I haven't found a good use for it yet. But seeing as the recovery speed of certain status effects goes down faster, I think that's quite nice but I don't really see a big difference.

Don't kill me for choosing what I chose, pls

    Survivor: Min

Lore: Born and raised on the streets, Min did whatever was necessary to survive. Surrounder by orphans with similar circumstances, she was elected as leader of the pack, thanks for her skill with transferring ownership of items held by generous people in the city. One day, however, she was caught and thrown into a prison. When the rest of her gang broke in to free her, they were surprised to find no one inside the prison cell, just some fog lingering in the air. Min was never seen again since then.

    Perks

Update #1: Changed Backup a little, no longer requires 2 Healhy Survivor within range.

    Steal

After retrieving an Item from a Chest, perk activates.

While holding the retrieved Item, press the Active Ability Button while standing beside another Survivor holding an Item to swap Items between Yourself and the other Survivor and restore 10/20/30% of acquired Item's base amount of Charges.

You can only swap Items retrieved from Chests, once per Item.

Steal can only be used 3 times per Trial.

    Backup

While injured and in Chase, Aura of nearest Healthy Survivor is revealed to You and Your Aura is revealed to them and they gain 5/6/7% Haste Status Effect.

While the perk is active, if any Survivor takes Protection Hit for You, You gain 5/6/7% Haste Status Effect for 15 seconds.

Backup has a cool-down of 60/50/40 seconds. Backup goes on cool-down when You're put into the Dying State or other Survivor takes Protection Hit for You.

    Pay Your Debt!

Each time You rescue other Survivors from a Hook or complete Healing action on other Survivors, You gain a Token up to a maximum of 5/4/3 Tokens.

When Pay Your Debt! has maximum amount of Tokens, press Active Ability Button while being healed or rescued from a Hook to instanly heal one Health State and inflict one Health State of damage to the Survivor that was performing the healing or rescue.

If multiple Survivors are performing a healing action, random target is picked prioritizing Healthy Survivors.

Pay Your Debt! does not activate if you are afflicted by the Broken Status Effect.

Very interesting, but the perks though... Survivors are supposed to work together (in some cases, anyway) not screw each other over.

The last and first perk would bring a whole new level to toxicity and turn survivor mains against each other.

I was sitting there mid match, asking my self...am I having fun? What part of this is fun? Even when match making puts me up against people I should and not just survivors who are clearly better than me who just stomp and mock me at the end game chat...am I having fun? No. No I am not, this game isn't fun. This game is just frustrating. I asked my self. Why am I still playing.

sunk cost fallacy. That is why I am still playing. I had gotten in a cycle where I started all young and baby faced enjoying the game. But over the hundreds of hours I sank into it, I became invested, even long after it stopped being fun.

I tried going to survivor, but playing Survivor as a Solo is almost as bad as playing Killer. But for totally different reasons.

I was so ready to give up on this game, but then you released a killer that was totally up my Ally. A ######### Cowboy! I love Cowboys, the wild west over all. The map looked awesome and the killer looked fun. He was...for about three matches. Then all those warts that ruin this game that you as the Devs say are intented to be there and to be frustrating started to show up again. So congrats Devs, I just can't muster playing this game anymore.

It is to the point where if I'm not high or drunk, there is no enjoyment playing this game. Which isn't a good sign as being high or drunk can make most things enjoyable. So you got one more DLC worth of my money, but never again. I'm going to be weening my dependency on this game until I can just uninstall it and never come back. Because you and I both know...you aren't interested in fixing the problems the community has with this game. At least Blizzard as ######### as they are can pretend to like and respect their community.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

They always come back. Be it months or years later.

I gave up this game too, not long ago. About almost a year ago. Then randomly, I was pulled back into the game by my brother-in-law. And oh boy, I became invested too. I have all the Chapter DLCs. Despite all the complaints, despite all the toxicity, despite all the uninteresting matches, despite all the fun I am not having when the matches are just unfair, I still am playing the game and I still love the game.

And deep down in your heart, you know you still love the game. It's something you get attached to. You just can't leave it behind.

See you in the fog at a different timeline, friend.

Tell me, how else is the community supposed to voice their opinion, if not on the forums? Devs stated that they have listened before to the complaints on here so why not add it on the pile? The bigger the pile, the bigger the chance they will look into it. If they conclude it's not a problem then you got nothing to worry about.

Oh, yes. I'm not saying to stop complaining entirely.

I meant to stop complaining about the same thing.

  • You do realize adding to the pile of complaints wont do anything, right?

Take a look around the forums

All you see is killer mains complaining about gen rush times

    When will they learn...?

  • Smashing a button..? Yeah, always hated that. In every single game that ever existed.

Wish we could disable that somehow.

  • Token "gen rush bad, game bad, fix game" post, nice nice.

  • @ad19970 said:

Disagree. I really enjoy going against him. And I am very happy that he is an actual, powerful threat now. His counterplay is challenging, but fun in my opinion. I personally also love the atmosphere created by people all going mad and screaming across the entire map. And going against him is a pretty unique experience in my opinion.

I guess if I had to change anything about him, I would increase his shock therapy cooldown after using his shock therapy to 2 or 2.5 seconds. So he can still attack after 1.5 seconds but has to wait slightly longer before he can use his shock therapy again. But I personally think he is a really good spot now and doesn't need any changes.

More importantly, you can never determine one killer who is the most unfun to play against, since different people have different opinions on what killer they enjoy going against and what killer they don't enjoy going against.

    I'm quite the opposite, actually.

    I see LESS Doctors now.

Only Doctor I saw today was myself.

And I was literally tbagged on the entire game.

Guess it shows that I'm not a Killer main.

Example: Yesterday after my friends got off Xbox I decided to give solo survivor queue a shot. We load into Gas Heaven against a Deathslinger, the match goes on normally, yada yada...

I haven’t been hooked all game, and the killer starts chasing me near an Exit Gate as the last gen pops. I actually run him around almost the whole map (down the long line of stacked cars, through the gas station, around the other line of stacked cars, around the bus) and finally get downed because of bloodlust and no pallets left.

I see the other 3 (fully healthy) survivors waiting at one of the Exit Gates and they decide to open it. I think: “Okay, NOED isn’t in play and there’s 3 people that can come get me.” But what happens? All THREE just bumble around in the exit gate until I go into struggle and finally die. No attempt to even come close to the hook.

Killers complain about SWF being too strong. I say SWF is the only way to play Survivor without going insane from witnessing the stupidity of other solo queue players.

    This is pointless ranting lol.

I did 3 games solo today, won all 3. I had really great teammates.

I win 90% of the time when going in solo, but lose 95% of the times when playing with my mates.

    Truly an interesting thing.

Ooooh! I think I actually saw your post on this a while back! Interesting idea to be sure! In comparison, I think the imp might be more engaging as you’re more of a player than a spectator, but I would honestly be happy with either idea.

You made a great point about bloodpoints. Yes, there needs to be some way to encourage participation from the imp, but I’m not sure how just yet.

Because the imp’s actions are limited, I don’t see him having as much earning capability on his own. I’m certainly open to suggestions in this regard!

You couldn't have seen a post from me regarding it, as I never did one in the first place! The idea of the Entity itself being the 6th player just popped into my head today before I replied to this post.

  • @yobuddd said:

The imp is a 6th player. An assistant to the killer provided by the Entity.

The imp is a short, fast little creature that is unable to injure or hook survivors. However, he can help out in other ways:

    • He can attack survivors to interrupt actions (like sabo) and make them scream. This does not cause injury. Hitting a survivor gives them very mild stumble. Useful when the killer is chasing someone.
    • The imp does NOT have collision with survivors, so he cannot body block them when they’re running or vaulting.
    • He can break walls and downed pallets, and can damage gens. He can NOT shut the hatch.
    • He has a mental link to the killer through the Entity (in-game comms).
    • He gets the same number of blood points as the killer in a match.

A killer joining a match can decide if he wants an imp or if he wants to play solo. If he opts for an imp, he can invite a friend or accept a random player. SWF matchmaking will prioritize imp matches over non-imp matches.

Because SWF is able to use comms, which can’t be considered “cheats” because punishments can’t be enforced, this instead brings the killer up to a level playing field. It also allows additional players, so it is the opposite of “punishing people for playing with their friends”. In fact, it encourages a social element for killers as well. Sounds like a lot of fun to me!

It's an interesting idea, for sure, however this can be exploited many ways. Since the imp gets the same amount of bloodpoints as the killer, there could be a game where the imp does literally nothing, meaning it's useless, yet still gets bloodpoints with that. So if this was a thing, not doing anything as the imp would give you penalty or ban or it would be a report-able offense, or something.

However an idea of mine like this popped up recently, it's very similar except it's not the imp, but the 6th player would be the Entity itself. Obviously not visible to the killer or the survivors, but the player controlling the Entity would be able to block gens, have a sort of power, block windows and all of these would have cooldowns as well.

This could be a separate mode to implement something new to the game.

Corrupt is pretty good, but Ruin is completely useless if the survs stay on gens. It's not good on Huntress because she's 110. Pop or Corrupt are better.

Don't play killer X is the wrong answer. Huntress is strong, but the fact that people are resigned to saying "if you want to win, you can't play X" is an indication of bad balance.

Not that it's a surprise, because the devs have said clown is "underrated" and "fine", which is laughably stupid. The times when they make good balance changes feels like an accident.

Clown may be bad (to us) but some people who can play really well, such as Otzdarva, he still gets 4k's with him.

Sure, Huntress is strong. I'll agree, because I went up against a lot of Huntresses the past few days and all of them 4k'd, by either slugging and whatnot.

  • How it happened? Simple:

    • SWF communication

How it can be prevented? Very simple:

    • Corrupt Intervention (Plague perk)
    • NOT playing the Huntress
    • playing Billy or anyone else with good map pressure
    • Hex: Ruin is still good, as a Survivor main I can never find it and it's always annoying
  • This is why Deathslinger exists.

  • Doing so will kill the game. Lol.

  • True, infectious fright is annoying.

But I think Oni is the easiest killer to juke, especially when using power.

    Lmao.

  • It's funny because if a survivor complains about camping and tunneling and then they play killer, they will do the same no doubt.

People will keep complaining because the community is toxic and humans will be humans.

    Nothing we can do, really.

Camping, tunneling, generator rushing are not bannable offenses so complaining or reporting them likely won't do anything.

You totally ignore the survivor perspective. All the survivors died! Killers are getting 4 kills and you still demand nerfs to survivors?! It is absurd how much killers demand this game be tailored to them. The game is already so absurd tilted their favor. The second the killer encounters their first survivor the killers is going to start snowballing because anytime a surivior is running/healing/sneaking because of a killer, they aren't doing gens.
