  • Legion with: Hex Ruin, Hex Undying, Hex Thrill of the Hunt, Hex Pentimento.

  • Don't Judge!

Remain on hatch for 60 seconds before it opens while the third survivor dies on hook.

This needs a rework, hatch no longer spawns when there's more than one survivor alive.

Can you please change it to "Massive Jolt" instead? Dead By Daylight does not recognise that word anymore.

Came here just to say the same thing, well played~

And regarding cheaters, I haven't encountered many of them myself despite all the ruckus going about them. I wouldn't even know the issue if I didn't read the forums or watch streamers. I guess my region is relatively peaceful?

  • Everyone's talking about boons and tunneling overall, but it should be mentioned that one of the main reasons Mikaela would be tunneled is simply because she's the newest character in game.

Newest character means people playing her probably haven't unlocked many perks on her yet. which means no DS or any meta perks, so she's weakest link in any team and fastest to tunnel and kill.

  • I can remember two instances I got infinite'd.

1.Playing solo Survivor. Playing as Yui. Infinite occured when loading into the match. Killer was Twins. Perk loadout: Kindred, Small Game, Boon: Shadow sth, Inner Healing. Don't remember teammates. Map was Swamp something?

    2. Playing solo Survivor. Playing as Yui. Infinite occured when loading into the match. Perk loadout: Kindred, For the People, Vigil, Renewal (in my next match FtP didn't activate Renewal fyi so don't combo these.) No idea about teammates. Killer was Trapper with Red Mori. Map: Coal Tower.

Both times didn't bring any items or offerings. Don't remember what challenges were active. Playing via Steam (PC).

Rummaging seems like waste of time, but sure.

Luck rework looks good, but you would also need to buff Slippery Meat, because it would be quite bad without stacking Luck.

Cursed totems kinda one-sided, but if you tried to do anything like that for hexes, they would be really useless to use.

I agree that Rummaging is intended to be a waste of time. I don't mean it to act as free items for Survivors but more like a last-ditch effort when they desperately may need a help of an item. If we allow Keys to be Rummaged, I'm gonna look forward to the "I'm last survivor alive, Killer closed the Hatch and there's no chance of opening the Gates but I rummaged a chest for 4% and found a key which I used for an epic escape" Youtube montage videos.

I see no problems with buffing Slippery Meat although I don't think it'd ever be picked over Deliverance so rework might be better overall.

I don't quite understand how Cursed Totems are related to the Hex Totems? And I don't think it would be one-sided. Survivors can prevent Cursed Totems by placing Boons strategically and not just in any random place. They can also cleanse them or avoid the areas that they're placed at.

  • Fellow White Day fan here, I'm all up for having White Day in DBD. As a matter of fact, I've made my own WD chapter before as well ;)

Now for my (friendly) critique on the perks:

White Day Candies - Movement Speed slow is too harsh, I'd remove it completely. Maybe make it activate after being hit by the Killer or while in injured state? And 8 metres is too little, 24-32 metres would make it so other Survivors can track You and either a) come to heal You or b) move away since they can hear that Killer is chasing You.

Portable Lighter - there's no advantage whatsoever to temporarily lighting a totem. At first I thought it could be a NOED/Plaything counter, but then I read that it only lasts for 20 seconds on one totem. Maybe You can make it last forever, and any Survivor cleansing the totem gets notified that it is a fake Hex. Also maybe make the Hex visible to the Killer after X seconds, just to make Hex defend builds weaker.

Yin-Yang Token - I'd change it to 25% per Great Skill Check. At 5%, You'd need 20 Greats, but it is hard enough to get 20 skill checks at all.

Bereavement - it feels like just half a power. Killer that can just M1 wouldn't feel exciting to play. I'd also say, Save the Best for Last perk is more exciting to play than this Killer's power in its current state.

Memorabilia - maybe make it activate so that after hitting any Survivor Obsession's Aura is revealed to You for x seconds? And instead of losing line of sight, make the Aura stay visible as long as stay in chase? It would make the perk useful for a) finding an Obsession in the game and b) winning any chase mindgames if you manage to hit the Obsession early in the chase.

Ashes to Ashes - you need to hit survivor 5 times... without hooking them once... for the perk to work once? Then 1-2 more for the final down and kill on the hook. If You just hooked them normally, then You'd only need to hit Survivor 4-6 times to hook them three times (2 for first hook, then 1-2 depending if they're injured), maybe even less if You're using instadown perks. I think the perk could use a rework.

Hex; The Wailing - Oblivious status effect may not be strong enough to be worth using. How about Incapacitated status effect? Would be really mean combo with Ruin, resetting all Gen progress, and make Survivors really afraid of touching Hexes.

  • Happened to me as well (Steam). Was super confused at first as to why everyone was wearing the same Yui cosmetics as me. Did I suddenly become super popular? Did some famous streamer copy my style and everyone's jumping on the bandwagon?

That said, this bug robbed me of two games where everyone decided to play the same character, but we couldn't coordinate cosmetics as well :(

  • As some who loves Open Handed builds as well, I would suggest Better Together for the final slot. Also might consider dropping Bond for Visionary, since I feel Kindred is good enough on its own.

  • All the time.

If You cleanse my Hex where I can see You, it's my personal credo to tunnel You down and facecamp You to death. Or maybe it's a vendetta?

Either way, I'm cool with everything else.

They have access to the pick rate of characters. What do you think would sell more, a skin for a character with a 15% pick rate or a skin for a character with 2.9% pick rate?

That reminded me of the random statistics I made a year ago, of the character pick rates in my games.

Nea was fourth most popular pick (8,7%), Feng was sixth (6,7%), and Adam was dead last with 0%.

So popular characters do get more skins, especially the free ones (Dwight and Claudette, and I think Feng is free on consoles?).

Would have loved to see spencers mansion instead but thats just hindsight tbh. Yea there would still be corridors but there are quite a few open area's with the upstairs courtyard and main entry point in orignal RE.

To be honest 90% of rpd's problems could have been avoided if they split the map up into rpd west wing and rpd east wing. We still have enclosed hallways but at least map traversal wouldn't suck for both survivor and killer.

I love the idea of splitting the map. Just give it Badham treatment and make various variants of the map (RPD I, RPD II etc.)

That said, I've recently played against Oni that seemed to perfectly know the layout of the map and navigated it without a problem. Like, starting dash when we're on opposite corners of the map and reaching me without stopping. I would've loved to learn the same navigation skills one day, but it's pointless if the game just decides to freeze randomly for a few seconds so I can't even loop or run away from Killers on this map.

  • I have faced a lot of god-like Nurses, but the funny thing is, it was in the times before the Nurse rework happened.

I can't recall facing any scary Nurses in the recent times. I don't know whether all the old Nurses quit after the rework or was Nurse that busted that even average players could make god-like blinks.

  • Sorry guys, I completely forgot Dead Dawg was disabled and got excited for nothing :(

    @Doziano said:

Dead Dawg is disabled. That's why it didn't work.

Since we are in this topic, can we just get rid of map offerings? This [bad word] is annoying af

Regarding map offering, I had an idea to change them. Instead of increasing chances of certain maps to appear, they would decrease their chances, i.e. You put on Haddonfield offering and now You have tremendously decreased chance to be sent to Haddonfield.

  • I added the first part of the Killer's power (Blinking Scythe) on the spur of the moment, but the more I kept thinking about it the more I liked it, so I decided to rework the Killer power's completely.

Killer: Hilda v2, The Witch v2

    Lore: N/A

    Special Weapon: Deathscythe

The Witch’s complete mastery of the Deathscythe allows her to wield it in ingenious ways in order to take down her prey.

    Basic Attack [M1]

Press the Attack Button once to swing the Deathscythe and injure a Survivor in a close range of you.

    Lunge Attack [Hold M1]

Press and hold the Attack Button to perform a lunge attack, giving your attack increased range and short speed boost.

    Chevar Strike [……..][M1x2]

Tap the Attack Button twice after performing either Basic Attack or Lunge Attack to perform Chevar Strike, swinging your Deathscythe two more times while moving forward.

    Arched Fang [……..][Hold M1]

Press and hold the Attack Button after performing either Basic Attack or Lunge Attack to perform Arched Fang, striking everything around you with the Deathscythe.

Arched Fang has increased range compared to the other attacks, but has a small wind-up before striking.

    Combo Reset and Cooldown

Successfully hitting a Survivor with either Chevar Strike or Arched Fang resets your attack cooldowns and allows you to perform them again immediately.

Missing an attack or not performing further attacks ends the attack combo.

After finishing your attack combo you go through attack cooldown proportional to the amount of attacks you’re performed and whether they were hits or misses.

    Special Ability: Attack Blink [……..][……..][M2]

Successfully hitting a Survivor with either Chevar Strike or Arched Fang allows you to blink forward a short distance by pressing the Power Button.

You may attack again after performing an Attack Blink.

Performing an Attack Blink extends your Combo Cooldown.

  • As Killer, never give up. Survivors are capable of throwing the game even at 5 gens done after all.

As Survivor, after I have a long and satisfying chase (a few minutes long) and I finally get hooked, just to see all my three teammates crouching around the Hook, waiting to farm the Bloodpoints off me. Also no Gens have been done during this whole time. Also I always run Kindred so they can all see each other and still camp around the Hook. racing who can get the unhook first. In these moments I always immediately kill myself while the Killer is still around me so they can protect me from getting unhooked.

  • I like Legion's M1 attack sound. Main reason I can't play any other Killers :(

  • It already happened with Crypt TV, but personally I'd prefer for unique licenses to have their own place in the game, especially for Killers as they'd introduce new powers and mechanics to the game. I'm fine with characters from the same universe sharing Survivor models though, like we already have with Silent Hill. Not so much with Killers though.

  • Best change:

Every trial will now start with an obsession, regardless of player loadouts.

Shame this happened so late in the game's life cycle though. With DS dead, Killer's gonna focus You and instapick You after unhooking regardless if there's obsession in the game or not.

Love Small Game and Open Handed changes.

  • Survivors, if you see a baby killer only manage their very first down after 4 gens have popped, perhaps DON’T flash a torch into their face, or body block a hook.

It's scary how accurately You described almost every Red Rank match ever. But yea, don't bully others.

  • On Survivor, I used Bond all the time. Now I abandoned it in favor of Kindred; better information and utility imo.

On KIller, I used Hangman's Trick all the time. I just loved it ;) Then it got butchered ;/

  • @Zozzy

I think You're mistaking Iridescent Shards with Auric Cells.

Iridescent Shards are currency that You get just by playing the game and levelling up.

Auric Cells are currency that You get by paying with real money.

They've been giving out a substantial amount of Iri Shards during the last Advent Calendar event, so I think this wouldn't affect anyone's profits.

Yes, someone accused me of hacking cause I knew where they were at all times cause I was playing legion. They didn't know what her power was lol.

    @FFirebrandd said:

Someone wanted to know how I found them crouching behind a random rock with no aura perks. I was Legion and had recently stabbed someone else with Frenzy... yeah.

Legion player here, it's the same for me. Keep getting accused of wallhacking. Mostly happens when matchmaking gives me rank 18~20 Survivors.

  • Just happened to me (was playing as Survivor against Nurse): after Killer hooked the Survivor, their Hud status wouldn't properly change from Dying to Hooked; this made Kindred not activate when that Survivor was hooked. I was still able to see their Aura and unhook them, also it activated We'll Make It properly.

  • @Elena said:

At this point dbd is just bullying The Legion

What's next? Patch 4.4.5, The Legion has been removed from the game and everyone has been refunded.

    "Refunded"? Hah, good one.

  • @Katie_met said:

And the amount of red rank survivors that waste and camp or the pallets or just instantly go down in 2 seconds

Oh boy, that reminded me of recent match I had.

Killer used Lery's offering, which should've alerted anyone that's played DBD for at least 15 minutes. Did it alert my Red Rank teamates? Heh 😆 Lo and behold, it was the T1 Myers with wallhacks! Who could've guessed? Not the guy that got hit and one second later got hit again, that's for sure. But hey, good thing my other teammates were right there to help him!

One generator later (that I finished solo), my whole team's slugged. Just how do You even go down to T1 Myers so badly? I went there to help, Myers tried to chase me and failed. He kept at it for a few minutes before finally giving up (no hit on me). Then he went to play with my dear teammates, killed everyone and found the hatch first before me. Chased me through all of the EGC, didn't land a single hit till I finally died to EGC.

And that's a story of how T1 Myers needs to be nerfed. He gets 4k in Red Ranks that easily~

  • @AhoyWolf

Indeed I let her go. It was my second match that day against rank 20s, so I didn't have heart to hurt them anymore.

  • Had a match like that, as a Legion. I hit a Laurie with my power and put her in Deep Wounds. She bled out from Deep Wounds every. Single. Time. She was rank 20. By the time all her teammates died, she finally learned how to mend herself. I was so proud of her :)

  • @dastardlygamer

Bill is really loud when injured. And not injured. Just really loud.

Best perks in my opinion are the two common ones: Kindred and We'll Make It, and with Feng's Alert (showing You the Killer) and Lithe (easy to use speed perk), that's a solid build already, so realistically You can level up whichever Survivor You like personally. without regards to their perks :)

But my recommendation would be Dwight. Two of his perks are amazing for beginners: Bond lets You see Your teammates, so You know who to help, where to go if You need help, help You decide whether to stay on the generator or You see someone else going for a save. And the second perk, Prove Thyself, is a nice and easy source of Bloodpoints. Also helps You do generators faster and with other Survivor; chances are if Killer interrupts You they will go for the other Survivor, leaving You alone ;)

  • I did it on my first try, with speed limiter. Hitting same survivor twice is much easier than finding two survivors near each other (I don't have Infectious Fright on my Billy).

  • @batax90 @NoOneKnowsNova

I'm fine with the perk as well, just all this talking on forums made me think about this perk a little. And I wanted something similar to old Hangman's Trick back in the game, I really liked that perk :(

  • @Sonzaishinai

How do You feel about increasing Hook timers IF devs nerfed DS at the same time?

It would discourage Killers from just loitering around the Hook and force them for more active gameplay, but at the same time it would buff their 'hunting down the unhooked Survivor' gameplay more, since they don't have to fear the DS so much.

And with longer hook times and nerfed DS, I feel like DS would be used less and perks that help with safe unhooks would be used more (We'll Make It, Off the Record, Breakdown).

  • From my experience at red ranks, it is too true that most people don't seem to understand how saving hooked people works.

Too often I see people running in straight line to the hook just to be discovered by the Killer and have to run away.

Too often I see people running straight at the Killer when he's carrying someone, take a free hit then run away, leaving the person on the Hook alone.

Too often am I the only person on the team capable of performing safe unhooks, then I get hooked and the game ends. Like literally ends. The person that was supposed to save me gets discovered in less than a second because they've been running around the hook (learn some stealth, please), then they decide to loop around my hook, get downed and hooked right next to me. Then the third person comes to help (runs in straight line at the Killer), gets downed. Then the fourth person bravely challenges the Killer and gets downed. It still amazes me how often this happens.

FYI, I run Kindred 24/7 and everyone can clearly see their teammates and the Killer.

  • Great buff.

Now I'm waiting for them to add this feature to Legion's power.

  • It is not bannable.

Taking game hostage means intentionally creating situation where game can't progress or end. If Killer bodyblocked You in a corner while You were last Survivor and just AFK'ed there, not downing You or allowing escape, that would be taking game hostage.

  • If You're doing the Stun challenge, I'd use Decisive Strike and Head On, for additional stuns instead of relying just on pallet stuns.

If You want to keep teammates safe, keeping Killer in chase is the best option I think. Try vault build (Spine Chill and Resilience) and maybe Dead Hard, for longer and easier chases. Iron Will will help too.

  • I'm gonna put my vote on We'll Make It. Healing someone after unhooking them, especially after they get notified that You have WMI, is the easiest and most consistent healing event You can get in game. Otherwise, finding someone injured and not in chase and not half healed from Self Care may be tedious.

Other than that, any Aura-reading perk (Bond, Empathy) plus healing perk (Botany, Desperate, Autodidact) combo would work well. Main problem with Second Wind is activating it, imo.

  • @Kees_T

I tested it too just now. It didn't work.

    Previous thread - https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/177935/knockout-bug-in-4-1-0

TLDR: When downing a Survivor while using Knockout, You are affected by Knockout effects as well (as a Killer)

When using Kindred: Auras of Survivors that were downed with Knockout are not revealed to You and other Survivors by Kindred

When using Empathy: Auras of Survivors that were downed with Knockout are not revealed to You by Empathy

It must be a bug since the Auras were revealed by old Knockout before changes.

  • @HamletEagle

No there isn't. What You posted is a leaked trailer, not an official one from DBD Team. On their channel, there's no Oktoberfest video.

  • @EnderloganYT

Hey there, thanks for Your kind words ;)

For Terror Radius, my vision is that You start at 32 metres TR (at 0%) and it goes to 0 metres TR (at 100%). Totally a reverse Myers, I know. Maybe we can add Undetectable at 100%? That lasts for 10~15 seconds, maybe.

For rest of the power, it originally had movement speed buff as well, but I decided to err on the side of caution and removed it.

As for the power's design, I want to keep it a simple number buff; the better You do with it the stronger and faster You'd get without overthinking much. And if You fail, You're still a 115% Killer with M1.

For the pretty big commitment, I'd say it's just a matter of how fast You'd get Your Sanity back, so it's a job for balance team.

  • @adirgeforthedead

Hey, I like Your idea for the Hex :)

I admit, I'm not very good at making perks that utilize crows. Your idea is to make crows perk similar to Diversion or Red Herring, right? Then simply disturbing them won't do, they don't make any Loud Noise Notification for the Killer to see. How about this:

    Unlikely Friend

Some animals remain friendly to others, even in this dark place.

Reduces chances to alert Crows by 50%.

Approach a Crow that wasn't disturbed by you and press the Active Ability Button to make them follow you for 30 seconds.

After performing any action that triggered a Loud Noise Notification, the Crow sits down at its location for 60 seconds and triggers a Loud Noise Notification visible to the Killer every 15/12/10 seconds.

Unlikely Friend has a cool-down of 120 seconds.

You can only interact with one Crow at a time.

Unlikely Friend cannot be used when you have accrued Stillness Crows.

  • @Nanglaur

Hey, another person that uses Q button ;)

  • As far as I know, any cosmetic You can buy in Store, stays there forever.

The only limited time cosmetics are the ones You can't buy, like the ones in Rift or from Events. Although even these are supposed to appear in Store at a later day.

  • I'd consider it the same as being asleep or sick.

Maybe you could even classify all of these as 'secondary' health states? Primary health states would be healthy, injured and dying. Broken would be a weird mix of status effect and primary health state.

That's based on that secondary health states appear on the same spot on HUD as primary health states. So they include: tormented, asleep, sick, pig trap, ghostface mark. Odd one would be doctor's madness, another mix of primary and status effect.

  • I have to agree that her underwear area is too easily seen with this cosmetic. I like the slit on her dress, but that black texture peeking from underneath bothers me. And you can see it easily when you repair a generator which is quite a common action during the game.

    jane01.jpg

That said, I don't know how it could be fixed. Lower the slit on her dress? Replacing black texture doesn't seem probable as all survivors have it so it wouldn't make sense to make just Jane different. Have her wear a pair of shorts underneath?

  • I've investigated a bit, and most possibly Mary's Letter doesn't exist.

From Silent Hill wiki: "This implies that the letter never physically existed in the first place and instead was either a figment of James's imagination or a manifestation created by the town in order to draw James back to Silent Hill."

(If You're talking about DBD, it exists here. But then again, is anything in Entity's Realm real?)

  • @28_stabs

They show You which cosmetics are locked in the official trailer.

    Clown, Jane, Oni - locked

Yui, Adam, Spirit, Feng, David - not locked
