Yeah,but i don't see that happening ever.

I wouldn't say that. I'd just say everyone is too afraid to mess with that spaghetti.
They can always remake it without making it a spaghetti. Is that not possible? I'm asking because I'm no coder myself.

I thought I was the only one who hated specific types of challenges. Hope this gets some recognition.
-
What a weird text-based accent and attitude...
To answer your question, it's the updates and challenges. I try not to look at the small things (like bugs or toxicity) and guess what, I actually end up having fun and not make me want to quit.
-
They could just add a half-assed killer and survivor with no map and the majority of the update would consist of health and bug fixes, but then people are going to be upset that the killer and survivor were half-assed. π
-
For once, I agree.
-
Good. We do not need anymore Huntress mains.

Exactly before this update I could only play on mothers dwelling(it would always choose it) killing my frames. At least I'm not the only one.

I hope nobody things I'm trying to boast about it or something, obviously it sucks that others are experiencing issues, but it doesn't change the fact that I barely bump into any issues.

i love the new gen sounds, me and my friends love em, finally fixing the gens truly feels like you're actually fixing them, those who say they dont like them are just people who hate change, its much better than before actually, animation and sound wise
Finally, a reasonable post.

Did you even read that that post was about the tournament?

Somewhat, I agree.
The Demogorgon is also somewhat scary, the way he lunges at you and everything.

Am I the only one who has literally no issues with the game????????

Face camping and tunneling have been apart of the game for almost the entire life span of it, no one likes it, no one has fun with it, no one benefits from it anymore, so whats the point of having it when it happens so often?
I'm not a game developer so I couldn't say how to fix it, but as a owner of the game I feel like I should trust the devs to fix and change the game for the better.
Sorry, can't. It's a strategy, apparently.

People will be happy when they can host a dbd tournament without having to ban perks and items because they are to strong. And when the best thing a killer can do in a tournament isnt camp the hook and run noed because gens are to fast.
Imagine running NOED, camping, tunneling and slugging in tournaments. That's the new low.

Knowing which pallets are fake DOES make a huge difference, it means you won't spend time looping a pallet that's fake and instead knowingly avoid it. Just cause you don't like a killer doesn't mean you should celebrate them being bugged. I hate Executioner but I don't think he needs to be nerfed.
You're right. My apologies. I've had really bad times against Freddy so it's completely justified, but you're right. I hope they fix it, otherwise it's a useless power mod.

After 4-5 matches of survivor I feel as if im done for the day, after 2-3 games as killer I feel as if im done for the day. Does anyone actually play this game for long periods of time and have an enjoyable time for hours? I have been playing for about 3 years off and on and have felt like the game used to be more fun back then rather than what it is now.
Makes me wonder if we should trust their words that they don't need a Game Health Chapter.
There were times where I played endlessly, but nowadays I play for a couple hours and be done with that. Thing is, I love the game, but if it's the same thing over and over in red ranks, it's not something you want to do daily for 12 hours.

Anyone else find the new gen sounds really loud and unpleasant to hear?
It's very obviously the sounds of a car starting which really bothers me since its a gen and not a car. π
Generators have an engine in them. Cars have engines. Touching two wires together when hotwiring a car is turning the engine on.
What are the Survivors doing in their new animations? Exactly that. I don't see the problem with these sounds.

I've seen them screw up too many times to be optimistic about anything they do. I can expect worse and still be disappointed.
I wonder why you're still playing then, if you're constantly disappointed? Wait, why does everyone else who're disappointed continue playing? π€

I don't actually know, to be honest.
It's been a while.
I do have all DLCs, but I actually have zero clue which one I got first. xD

I don't see pointing out bugs as backlash. voicing my dislike for them adding something annoying that no one asked for is just that. At times it does feel like they don't think before they do things, they just throw things at the wall to see what will stick.
Things seem to stick if they didn't change multiple things that a few people wanted to be changed with smaller updates.
Believe me, in one way or another, BHVR is listening, because there were times the majority of the community disagreed with BHVR and they reverted something.
At least... That's what I heard.

true but the vast majority of other developers don't break fundamental aspects of their game with every patch
But these guys do, apparently (even though I personally still haven't found a single bug yet). We can't do anything about that but to hope they will fix everything, with time, I guess.
-
I don't like Freddy, so this is a win for me. Some people can't pay attention to which pallet they run into anyway, so it's not like it makes a huge difference.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
every time I think "oh they're doing a good job, keep it up" they end up massively screwing up something else and taking weeks, if not months (or never in the case of sound bugs) to patch it
i can't even blame people for complaining about the new gen sounds anymore. i don't even care about the dumb DS posts anymore. this game is just broken as hell.
Fair, there are issues here and there, and by no means they are small issues, but I still feel like BHVR doesn't deserve this much of a backlash for them. Like every other damn game out there, there will be bugs no matter what. No developers are perfect.
-
In theory, generators have an engine in them too. I see nothing wrong for it to sound like starting a truck. It may not be a car engine, but touching two wires together for an engine to start would undoubtedly give those sounds out.

Compared to ARE THEY SERIOUSLY DOING THIS NOW? Great everyone left me behind...This is right after completing the prerequisites which is even more annoying.
The annoying part of "Complete this in one trial" challenges is dying on first hook, getting tunneled, slugged and camped. Amirite?

Alright, you used absolutely no commas or periods, so I'm kind of confused.

Just play like you would normally but as Meg & eventually you'll get it. That's pretty much how I treat all challenges.
Challenges give the game a different "purpose" other than just the act of "having fun."
Those are the only things that I take seriously, because that's what they are: challenges.
And while they're great and all, I think "Escape the trial" and "Complete this in a single trial" types of challenges can be really difficult, for everyone, not just survivors.
I just wouldn't believe anyone that told me they did all challenges first try.
I remember they did a survey once about tomes. Did people actually vote for easier challenges, or was there never a specific option for that?

Thank you for your help! I have a standard logitech mouse (it might have side buttons for scrolling). I'l definitely look into leveling up david first then!
Great. I actually really want to help newer players to PC Dead by Daylight (or even those who just start the game, so if you have any questions, then you can let me know your Discord or anything)
Not trying to flex or anything, but I'm pretty sure I even know all the perks by head. So, just ask away!

So, great news, I'm moving to PC sometime around Christmas! I've only been able to play on mobile (Its been painful) but i'm finally getting to move to PC once I get a new laptop (this one has 4GB ram, and I can run like 3 games on it if even) so I had some questions about some game stuff.
- So, it says it needs like 39GB to install, does anyone have an estimated file size (base game no dlc)
- what are some of the best/easiest key bindings. Like, just default, or what do you guys use?
- I've gotten a lot of mixed answers, but what are the killers and survivors that you start out with? cause i've heard people talking about console getting different/more killers at the beginning because they have to buy the 'deluxe version' or something along those lines.
- as I imagine that there's definitely a different play-style that accompanies PC/Console compared to mobile, what are some standards in terms of play-styles?
- does DLC usually go on sale? like, cyber monday, black friday, etc.
- final question, i'm basically a Jake/Nea main because I just really like their cosmetics, so does anyone have any in-game pics of Nea's Night Out hair from the Headcase DLC? it looks really pretty from what I've seen, but I've noticed that cosmetics can look different in the store compared to in a match. (also, the jake torso/shirt cosmetic with the leather vest/tattoos, was that a rift cosmetic or is that available in the in-game store, and if so is it shards or auric?)
Thank you all for your help in advanced π
- If 36GB is what its showing, then it must be the base game size of it.
- I use F for the struggling phase, and that's about it. But if you have a gaming mouse and you have those 2 buttons on the side of it, some people use the left-most side-button for skill checks.
- I say start with David, just so you get We're Gonna Live Forever. Level up everyone you have to 40 (to get all Teachables) and then only keep leveling up your main. If you want Prestige 3, then do your main first, and then start getting all the perks. It's a long road, but it's possible.
- Generally, PC/Console players are really toxic. Much more toxic than on the mobile version.
- Yes, they do.
- I don't know, I hope someone else can answer this for you!
-
Coffee. I need to tell no further reason as to why.
( Look at my name. )

Stop complaining. There's many ways to juke The Blight.
Oh, and... Try to play with people who don't give up so easily, maybe?
-
Cleansing a Dull Totem that half-way turned into NOED. Now that's the most satisfying thing that ever happened to me and made me really happy.
-
The Blight is instantly S tier for me. He's fun to play as and fun to play against. Honestly, I feel like I'm the only person who actually appreciates this new Killer. One of the best Killers BHVR ever introduced.
The only thing that's frustrating about him is his POV.

So f*ck the objective amirite?
If someone prioritizes anything else over their teammates or the objective, that's their choice of play. It's scummy but it's not bannable.
It may just be a solo player who decides to just simply NOT be a team player and puts everything into the other player's hands. You can do that and nobody can stop you. If I don't want to save someone from a hook because I'm injured and it will put myself in danger, I'm more than allowed and able to do that.

Imagine your team not doing gens cause they're selfcaring when the killer is legion with thana and sloppy
Imagine others playing the game how they want to. How dare they? How dare they not play with useless "meta" perks and second chance perks that almost never work? How dare they?!!

I didn't read the thread fully, but I agree with it being uneven. It's unfair that I have to use WGLF every match just to get the fair amount, being a mere 30,000 points. I deserve more than that, because I've done lots in the past matches as Survivor and haven't even gotten half of the points, regardless of escaping or not.
-
DS is tasty.

@Ryan489x said:
I agree on the gen sounds. I was cool with the new effects of you working on different parts and the animation improvements are awesome and really reflect what you're doing. BUT you are not starting a car you're repairing a broken generator. they do not have starters and you're not turning a key. It's clearly a stock engine sound effect and it just screams laziness. It doesn't fit and makes fixing gens more annoying for it.
Regardless, this is a video game we're talking about. Things don't have to be uber realistic or stylish to be good. Simplicity doesn't always mean laziness.
