Pretty much every spirit I've faced does this. There may have been like 1 that wasn't a hardcore tunneler. She doesn't HAVE to do that. Spirit is fun to play and strong. People are just bad killers so they resort to the dirty tactics.
Not dirty.
Its efficient and the best way to ensure you get into another chase and continue to pressure the survivors. But I guess Killers should give Survivors a safe, free, unhook and extra time to heal.
Anyway, there usually isn't a reason not too, if you are close and fast enough. It ensures that you will encounter at least two survivors and you can keep up the pressure.

Its not. It happens on PS4 as well.
You go for the grab, half way through the animation the survivor takes damage and then you are doing your attack animation and wipe while they are speeding off.
Also my fiance is currently doing a game as GF and trying to farm it and he literally can not grab people off the gens. He just hits them.

Just the shards. Everything else will be available after it expires.

Mostly because switching mics on the go is a pain, since they attach to your shirt. It's much better to have someone there all the way through, and I feel like having a designer who's actually making the changes is far more interesting to watch. Get the news straight from the source, basically.
And also because I look like a bad drawing of Danny Devito.
Oh. I guess that makes sense. Even if it is disappointing. lol
And you are being to hard on yourself. You are a cutie.

If you're not somewhere where you can watch it right now, we've also got a written recap up here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/113941/
The Doctor stuff is way down at the end.
Oh there you are Peanits.
I was wondering why you aren't around in the Q&A when they talk about Community Feedback stuff. Specifically stuff that is posted about a lot on the Forums. You are here and in the grit of it all and it'd be cool to see and hear more of you when it is brought up.

Funny cause on PC earlier, I think a trapper was working on this one..he REFUSED to hang the survivor on an actual hook outside of basement..the killer held the game hostage for 20 mins before I left...20 FREAKING MINS..yet survivors are the problem
Confused.
How does he hold it hostage while trying to get people in the basement?
".then they just stood there and stared at eachother..Its not the survivors fault..The killer needs to be punished for [BAD WORD] like this..who's the bullies now?"
This has to be bait.

Go find a match that's not thrown or ruined do to a Tome challenge... there's you a true challenge.
Why do people keep acting like the game was played better before the challenges came out?
Many Survivors have always farmed each other off hook, especially unsafely. Many Killers have always camped and/or tunneled. Many Survivors have always sat around and let their allies die on hook just because they couldn't be bothered. Many Killers have always slugged. Many Survivors and Killers have always not cared about the game.
What is new exactly? What have the challenges changed?
-
@PeenutsButt3r said:
But with this DC timeout it's becoming a meta for killer, I don't mind getting slugged when the killer is playing fair the whole match and they need the 4K with 2 people left. But some killers just don't want survivors to play the game at all, usually slug 2 people at the start.
Slugging is fair though. And if two people are getting slugged at the start and then left there then this is poor play on the Survivors' part.
I'm confused.
If its such a common occurrence being slugged/meta for Killers to slug then run a perk that makes its harder/impossible for you to be slugged. I know. Crazy!

Yea. I know, there is't really anything anyone can do at this point. They are testing it to find issues and to see how it works.
Its rough and unfair but after today the DC penalties will be disabled again and hopefully they'll be able to iron out these bugs.
-
There is a bug going on that somehow causes the DC Timeout to be "applied" incorrectly, at a higher time than it should.
It sucks, or so I've heard, but this is one of the reasons why this is only a 2 day test, so this kind of thing can be avoided when it goes live. Hopefully.

Entity forbid there be a single challenge that's actually challenging.
Can't have that. Can't even have them take any time at all.
We need them to be easy and done quickly so we can complain about how easy and quick they were.
-
They don't seem that difficult tbh though.
The Dark Sense one is really not that bad. Just get on a gen when it is finishing and you'll get a point toward it. Just go full stealth/Spine Chill and you won't really have to worry much about it.

There is no last Minute Hero.
These are the challenges:
Survivor:
Repair 10 Gens
6 Skill Checks with This is not happening (single Trial)
Search 12 Chests
4 Gens repairing with Dark Sense (Single Trial, only need to be sitting on the Gen when its finished)
Escape as Claudette (Single Trial, obviously)
Total of 5 health States healing
4 Killer Stuns with Pallets (Single Trial)
Killer:
Hit a Survivor with your weapon 25 times
Damage the same generator 4 times (single trial)
Interrupt and grab 2 Survivors
Kick 8 Pallets or Gens with Brutal Strength (Single Trial)
Hook the Obsession 10 times
Hook 5 Survivors in the Basement using Agitation (single Trial)
Catch 6 people in Bear Traps (Single Trial)
Sacrifice 4 Survivors in the Basement (Single Trial)
Not really challenges.
This is disappointing.
I was expecting some sort of challenge, not what was originally shown as some of that was ridiculous, but a challenge nonetheless. But this. They went too far in the other direction with these imho.
I think this one might actually be, overall, easier than Tome III.
-
No.
But I run it anyway because I like having info when everyone else is getting hooked all game.
-
Yea.
Its a double edged sword.
Its a very powerful tool to get information. But some of that information just might come back and cause you irreversible damage.

I assumed as much.
Just didn't have much else to add to the thread. Sorry. ๐
-
Run an anti-slug perk.
What's that? Why should you have to run a perk to counter a play style you dislike when BHVR should just add a give up feature? I dunno. You tell me.
-
Those are an extra few seconds for the other survivors get to do things. The Killer also gets a few more points.
Also the DCer gets to keep their BP now.

@Waffleyumboy said:
Now thats some good tunneling
BP amounts suggest them dying on first hook (or killing themself on first hook) not tunneling. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
-
There's a lot here I find questionable. To say the least.
Like, for example, the suggestion that it should be changed so that a player can't leave via Hatch due to an active RBT is silly and an unneeded change.
Razor Wire and Interlocking Razor add-ons are another.
Anything that says "random debuff" would probably be rife with bugs and either too strong or too weak. Imagine taking both if they are stackable. It would be a mess.
Speaking of Add-ons suggestions, here are more that I don't like:
Face Mask
Original Reverse Bear Trap
A Worthy Tool
... "Broken Reverse Bear trap"
The Game (No reduction??)
The Game + Rules Set No. 2 (Lmao!)
The Game + Amanda's Secret (If they work together)
The Game + Anything really
So, basically, most of the Add-on suggestions appear to disregard any notion of balance and just think they would be "cool" or "accurate to her character". Sorry, but that's not how it works.
Increasing crouching speed is a good idea though.

@Alphaphalt said:
Rank means nothing.
Kind of true. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't look at it.
The harder it is for Killers to rank up the less Killers there will be to face Survivors who are in red ranks (which is, lets be honest, like 50% of them because of how easy it is to rank as a Survivor.)
Also you need to double pip to get Adept Killer achievements and the issues with the scoring system make this even harder than it already is. Not that OP was going to Adept Plague, just saying the scoring system for Killer is still questionable.
-
95% : 5%
Rank 1 : Rank 10(?I'm not sure what my average is?)
Survivor is easier and I don't get stressed about anything. I can do whatever I want and still enjoy it and still get through most games. Even in red ranks, where some matches are just the sweatiest thing, I don;t really try that hard. I don't see the point and literally don't care if I get sacrificed because it doesn't really mean anything. So long as I save someone and do a gen and pop some totems, I'll probably at least safety pip and get a few BP if I die on my first hook to a camper.
Killer is miserable for me most of the time and anything higher than yellow ranks just feels like I'm choosing to give myself anxiety and stress. I use to main Killer but it became a chore and all I did was complain so I stopped playing it mostly. Ranking as a Killer and feeling like you accomplished something are two very different things and most of the time it just feels bad running around as a Killer. I'm probably just really bad at it though. (I also don;t like that I am the 1 vs the 4. Its an anxiety thing.)
-
Everything here seems fair.
People just get mad when they make bad plays and either:
- Take it out on other people but are really just mad at themselves.
- Think they played well and believe the other person must have played unfairly to beat them.
You didn't tunnel, she was just easy pickings because she made mistakes. So sound like the latter here tbh.
-
Sometimes.
If they played well? Sure. Especially if I feel like their team kind of just... left them to do the work.
Also if I feel like I bullied them too hard I might give the last one the hatch. If they didn't have a flashlight or key.
Never if it is a Dwight, Claudette, Jake or Meg though. I have bad experiences with the original 4 Survivors all the time and none of them are ever getting out if I can decide their fate.
-
If you don't care about breaking the rules, your time or your BP then sure its a strat. Its not a legitimate strat though. But you have to question what kind of person cares so little about their own time.
@altruistic said:

Most people don't know how to read or interpret stats, which makes them useless on here. Coupled with ridiculous stubbornness that shows up on here, doubly so.
The fact that they brought up the stats as some sort of defense against Gen speed proves your point.

Just watched it through. The killer got two hooks and then never downed anyone after that. The generators weren't the problem there, they have no reason to do anything but generators unless the killer stops them from doing them. Four slowdown perks will only help so much if you're not stopping them from doing generators in the first place.
Serious question.
If the Killer is one player, and they can only be at one place at a time, how do they stop people from doing gens when they are chasing someone?
There is a high chance at least one Gen is going to be complete within the first minute and a half of a match. This just feels bad. And hooking someone doesn't really provide pressure when survivors can just ignore them for nearly a minute.
As a survivor main I almost never feel pressured by the killer unless:
1. My team is going down really fast/are real bad at chases.
2. I am the one being chased.
In every other situation I am free to do gens. Hell, if there is one player who gets instantly downed and hooked I ignore them until I am done my gen. Usually someone else has already pulled them off way before that though.

No, there is a bug. Even if you haven't DC'd at all since this test started and your game crashes or you got some error that pulled you out of a game because BHVR "did a pretty good job so far" you still get a DC Penalty Ban. People have been posting about it, they're getting anywhere between 3 and 25 minute bans even though they never DC but because the game fudged up, they have to pay the price.
A friend of mine DC'd purposely in a match earlier and didn't even suffer any consequences then the next match gets a match canceled and she and the friend she's playing with at that moment suffer a 3 minute penalty.
It's just broken. Like everything else.
Oh. Well it's a good thing this is only a 2 day rest then so they can work toward ironing out the wrinkles.
@op sorry. Didn't know about the bug.
-
DCing once do to a bug that makes it impossible to play gives you a 1 minute time out. Oh no call the presses.
If someone starts getting 15 minute, it higher, time outs then they are either really unlucky it DCing in other matches for noon legit trains and should stop.
Sorry, but buffs may be an issue but ones that force you to have to DC are less common than people like you try to present them as.
Also, not being able to move from a rock and stalk not working on GF aren't actually hugs that you need to DC for. If you don't want a super short time out over these things then just wait until the game ends. No Stalk GF is playable. Sitting in a rock as a Nurse is boring, the game will still eventually end.
-
If you are getting 5 and 15 minute penalties you are DCing more than once a day.
Maybe stop? And then when things like this happen you will only have to sit through a 1 minute penalty. Which is what it starts as.
-
You get one experience per second, up to 600 experience I believe, per match. That's 10 minutes to get Max per match.
It takes 800 to gain one fragment, 10 fragments increases your tier by 1. So 8000 exp per tier/level.
If we say you make 600 a match that would be:
8000/600 = 13.33 matches. Or about 133.3 minutes (2.222167 hours)
.. I think my math is right here. I kind of just threw it together based on what I remember of in game time to experience and how much is needed to level.
-
Meh. I don't really care about this tbh.
Its not really that big of a deal.
-
@The_Second_Coming said:
They did say that they were likely going to put a hold on events to focus on "game health"...but meanwhile all we've seen is needless killer nerfs (and killer breaks, like Wraith) and cosmetics. Guess that's their idea of "game health".
Is it more fun for Survivors? If the answer is "yes" then that's your answer to if its health for the game. ๐
-
My main criticism of these challenges when they were first leaked was "do in a single trial" garbage.
Sure this would make it less grindy, at face value, but you'd end up spending WAY more time trying to achieve some of these requests in a single trial and failing, and it will promote unhealthy and unfun play because some of them are obscenely difficult. And the worst part is that 90%, if not all, of the challenges were/are these types of challenges.
-
@Almo said:
What usually happens with SWF is that they get super-altruistic and refuse to leave the match unless they can get everyone out. Only at very high ranks and with SWFs that play together a lot is there much of a benefit in terms of escape rate.
That does not mean we don't want to do some things to make the solo experience better. As someone else pointed out, that's the reason for the Kindred buff.
Perhaps escape rate isn't the right metric, as SWFs can be more annoying to play against even if they don't necessarily escape.
Your last point is exactly the point. No one really cares how much more likely they are to escape. People just dislike how hopeless, alienating, and down right unfair it can feel when you face a SWF using comms. The Killer is ONE player, and when three or four other players come in and basically bully them and take away any semblance of fun then there is an issue.
This isn't to mention how toxic they can be to any other Survivor in the game that isn't part of their group.
-
You can wait until the last gen pops, hook one(not last hook) and slug the other, open a gate and then hook the last one. You don;t need to down them with NOED.
-
I found the Spine Chill one to be easy.
You just avoid the Killer and never get into a chase. Choose perks that help you achieve this.
I did it with Spine Chill, Calm Spirit, Fixated and Alert. I didn't have Kindred, but I probably would have used that over Calm Spirit or Alert. I just did Totems and Gens while the rest of my team dealt with Unhooks and the Killer. Actually, this is how most of my games go since I run Spine Chill all the time and am bad at chases so I avoid them as much as possible.

Bait. Imagine being that concerned over one pip.

-
To sabotage correctly you have to 99% the hook and complete it when the killer is just about to it.
Also: everyone dies to NOED because they only did gens. Why do people not do totems?
-
For me?
I stopped playing Killer because I found it unfun, frustrating and gave me weird anxiety.
As a survivor at any rank I can run whatever I want and it literally doesn't matter, I can still get out and do objectives and things.
I have fun, I play without any stress and if I want to try a new build I can because survivors can perfectly function, and not be dead weight, with no perks.
Is the game actually survivor sided? Maybe. For me it definitely is though.
Hell, just look at how easy it is to adept any Survivor compared to any Killer.
-
I didn't find it to be that bad honestly. Being a solo survivor can be tough but it's usually not unplayable.
I can't help but feel you are exaggerating the problem of getting to the egc though. I rarely see someone immediately leave when it starts or having Killers DC that often.
I also get to the EGC a lot, especially if I'm using Spine Chill. Also, make sure you have borrowed time. I didn't the first time I went for this challenge and it ended poorly. Lol
-
100% Killer.
Even getting tunnel/chased as a Survivor doesn't stress me out.
I just find it WAY more stressful to be the 1 vs. the 4 instead of one of the 4 vs the 1.
-
"First there was the devs own data that showed 75-80% kill rates."
I knew OP's post was going to be dumpster fire and I could ignore it but I didn't think their first point would be this blatantly manipulative and ignorant.
๐๏ปฟ๐๐
Good job @Sleephartha you subverted my expectations and invalidated your own argument faster than I thought possible.
edit: changed "incorrect" to "manipulative" because there are technically some Killers with 75% kill rate, so they are technically correct, but there is only 3 so they are attempting to use outliers to define the norm.
-
70 since last week.
