Overkill?
No.
It wasn't exactly the right choice imo but it isn't a "bad" nerf.
Though, around here, you'd think every nerf to Survivors is the worst thing ever.

But if you compare casual to ranked play there, in ranked the toxicity is multiplied by 10. I'm basically trying to figure out why that is, and whether the same principles can be applied to DbD in a fair and reasonable way.I feel you are overestimating Casual play. You say you played League competitively for 2 years. Are Normals ever really that much less competitive, or toxic? I would argue no, if anything it was more toxic most of the time since people go there just to troll and sh*ttalk. I encountered equal amounts of toxicity in both and I've played since Season 2. Since those who are toxic in Ranked are REALLY toxic, while most everyone is Toxic in normals.
Adding an unranked game mode would cause one of the two modes (most likely unranked) to be extremely underpopulated and hard to find a game in, since Ranking in this game is basically a casual mode since you get nothing for ranking. An unranked mode would also have a greatly screwed up matchmaking system and then no one would play it because they get matched with people way out of their skill level (up or down). It would also divert money, and attention, away from other parts of the game (like actual gameplay) for them to create and add this to the game, and for them to support and maintain it.
If one feels they need to derank to have fun then maybe they should play as if the game doesn't really matter? They would probably derank naturally this way. Don't try so much in games, and sure you may be playing less effectively "on purpose" but its better than DCing because you are actually doing something. And its more fun to.
So, to sum it up, I feel an unranked system would bring more issues to the game then it would solve and the ranking system in DBD is poorly designed so its basically like the game is casual mode already.

Oh and when we are going to the Institute I just know It's Michael with EW1 wallhack.I got this three games in a row.

Is it hard to ignore people? Like, does he HAVE to listen to them or read their messages?
I'm confused as to why he HAD to DC at all. It sounds more like he just wants to be "the best" in his group instead of being part of, or in some cases, the worst in his group. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

We’ve been getting DLC’s cheap as hell for years. $5-$6 for Chapters, tons of optional cosmetics for dirt cheap as well. In todays game market all of DBD’s stuff is dirt cheap.Ha. Haha. Hahahahahahahaha.
Yeah. Okay.

I'm not even mad about the fact that you have to buy most of them if you want them (for an, imo, overpriced cost) because I saw this coming and am not surprised by their cost.
I'm disappointed by who is getting these outfits and who isn't. I don't really use any of those who are, and honestly think all of the killer cosmetics (save The Huntress', sort of) are really, really bad not my kind of thing. I don't like any of them. I like Dwight's and Claudette's outfits but I don't really play them when I play Survivor, and I rarely play Survivor.
Oh well, I'll just ignore it it I guess lol.

"Complaining Killers"
Come back when Survivors go a year being underpowered and a joke.

No, everybody does not know that.Damn. You're probably right...

I expect too much out of people.

Ok dude, all that is connected on how many people are actually playing the game or not. People view games they play, I’m not gonna watch a cod stream if I don’t play cod. People are getting upset about all the complaining the killers do all the time. Even in the steam forums. I don’t want this game to die I love playing dbd, so I’m worried about these long wait times also, been notincing it myself all day today also.This is a false statement.
People watch streams of games they don't play all the time. And how can you argue that less people are playing DBD based on Twitch views and not the ACTUAL numbers provided by Steam.
Its like, are we in a crazy world when playing isn't playing but viewing is?

I read a Reddit post by one of developers, as they responded to some one who mentioned they encountered this new Slo-Mo vaulting glitch that can occur. The developer asked for the Perks, Add-Ons and items of the players. They confirmed that there is a bug when it comes to using SC and a Med-Kit that can cause Slo-Mo.
I don't remember what Reddit thread it was in, but I read it like yesterday. Sorry I don't have it.
If this is not what you are talking about then I dunno.
Edit: Ninja'd by a Dev. Rip.

I love this. Survivors get minor nerfs, changes, with a few buffs thrown their way. While Killers receive a few nerfs, some buffs, and pointless changes and all of a sudden its impossible to play as a survivor and Killer is ezmode.
F off.

@Mediva said:
I have no idea why this should be changed. To secure a kill for what? So you rank up? So you get more points?
How about that guy on the hook, that you are facecamping to accomplish that? Doesnt he deserve the 5k points more then you for escaping? He actually played better then you, but still you want to screw him cause you want a kill. If you didnt accomplish that in game, Play better next time.One of the saddest states of one-sided bias I've ever seen.
I feel embarrassed for you.

@brokedownpalace said:
It would be the least played survivor. Other than Claudette being stealthier, there is no correlation between toxicity and survivor choice. Besides confirmation bias. The more popular survivors will have more toxic players simply because they have more players overall.Obviously. Everyone knows that.
But this thread is about one's own confirmation bias.

When a survivor is speed hacking, he can hold the game hostage forever and you are basically forced to DC or go afk until he gets bored.Some surivovrs would prefer to be chased by a killer AI that farms BP with them
Oh. I haven't encountered a speed hacking survivor/wasn't referring to that. That's my bad and I agree that in this situation one should disconnect.

solos come first since the game was built for that. swf can wait in the que for a while, its fine.That's a strong opinion ...
Its not an opinion. The game was made with a certain experience in mind, SWF kills that. Also, of course, SWF will be waiting since they need to fill more spaces in the lobby, while those who only need to fill one can fit anywhere. And when you have a Rank disparity, which you have already mentioned you had a HUGE one, then games will take forever to find. Which is good because it discourages Boosting.

Self care is considered the best perk in the game at the moment. It is def a 'must have' perk, and it always will be until there is something actually done about it (if there will ever be a future nerf on the amount of times you can heal yourself.)Honestly its really risky to not run self care, at least in my opinion.
Before the patch it was definitely, however, we'll see how it fairs now with the healing time nerf.

this game got one-sided, i can't take this anymore, when u get tunneled, it's already over because you can't hide or run to a freakin pallet because there are like 3 pallets in the whole map ....Oh no Killers got a buff in this patch, must be one-sided.
Remember there is 1 killer and 4 survivors. If you cannot escape/hide from the Killer you should be taken out.
What do you want? The 1 Killer to be equal to 1 Survivor?
Also a minimum of 15-20 pallets per match. Use Windows of Opportunity if its so hard for you to find them.

@DeadByFlashlight
"Tunneling = DC" ? What is that? Do you realize how effective a strategy tunneling is (when done right)? Do you realize how much you screw your teammates over when you DC? I know it's feels bad when you are the one being tunneled, but if everyone had the same attitude, then in every game it's either you get tunneled and DC, or someone else, then he DC-s and then the killer picks you up one by one.Losing a game doesn't make you a pussy. Giving up does.
Exactly this. Though even when someone is cheating I wouldn't DC because you'll get into a new game soon enough.
I don't understand why so many players think that "Tunneling" is somehow unfair, as if Killers should be less efficient and go for someone else who isn't injured, and may be better at looping/chases.
I have never DC'd as a Survivor, because I want the BP. Even if its a small amount, its something and I can just leave and start a new game after I get sac'd.
