And I still find it funny when people whine about free stuff not being up to their standards.

And to anyone that gets prime just for rewards of ONE game, do you really have too much money on your hands or lost control of your spending habits?

In my mind paying for Amazon prime ONLY for some dumb skins is everyone own mistake and doesn't make demanding higher quality digital goods reasonable.

It's not free. Stop saying it's free. If it was free everyone would be getting the exclusive Prime gaming cosmetics.

  • @RonMan32 said:

I'm new to the game. Personally I love the idea of them using it as a way to dump off skins from rifts I missed before I was playing. Although I agree that they should at least be recolors for people who DIDN'T miss them. That way people who have them have a different one, and people who don't at least get the skin in some form and the other peeps can still flex their different color skin over prime gaming peeps. I don't even own plague atm so I can't use the skin but it's been redeemed. My hope is we get an exclusive Deathslinger skin. Does anyone have a list of all the past prime gaming skins?

Most all the rift cosmetics have come to the store within about just over a year that they were originally released. So the being new thing doesn't really work here tbh.

This is worse than when they had the charm, which was disastrous. Who thought of this and who agreed that it should be so?

I still think someone working at BHVR is sabotaging it from the inside.

DH wasn't nerfed... They literally reworked that perk (in a lazy way I might add since it's essentially a styptic agent on demand for 1 second)... It's stronger in some situations and worse in others, but overall it wasn't nerfed to the ground as you said. Selfcare didn't deserve to being nerfed so much (at least bothany was buffed to compensate and if you run both you won't waste too much time healing). spine chill was a bit overnerfed (still it deserves some nerfs since that perk completely countered stealth killers) and iron will needed to be nerfed since this perk alone was enough to completely counter spirit's power, without mentioning that it was nerfed also to put on the same spot with stridor (and still it was nerfed less than stridor)

DH was mainly used for distance.

With new DH if you fake a swing, as you should be doing like with current DH, they'll use it and then you can down them faster than you can right now.

DH overall has been nerfed if you know how to play around it. 1 second is nothing and most survivors don't time current DH right for the i-frames to matter anyways.

Which doesn´t compensate the hard nerf to the whole slowdown meta.

If the aim was, that killers use less slowdown. Then i´d say mission accomplished.

But if the aim was to increase the kill rate...

With Jolt and Overcharge buffs I don't think Slowdown was nerfed that hard tbh.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

Yeah, but it should stay 5 seconds. It really should especially NOW that it deactivates end game.

I dislike DS, never use it. But I agree with this 100%.

  • Survivor: Botany, Kindred and then 2 filler.

Probably A Blessed totem or something and lightweight maybe?

  • @Babadook83 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3015847#Comment_3015847

so bascially it will undo 1 second gen repair every second, which means after 90 sec a almost fully repeaired gen will be back to 0?

    Yea. Pretty much.😉

  • @Babadook83 said:

can someone give me numbers on how fast (charges per second) the gen will regress?

    Gen regress is:

Base (100%) regress is 4 seconds to = 1 second of time spent repairing (so 25% of the speed of repair). Example: 40 seconds of regression = 10 seconds repaired

Current Ruin is double this. So 20 seconds of regression is 10 seconds repaired.

Overcharge will be 1:1 regression (400%) after the 30 second mark, which is pretty great.

  • It's obviously an error in how it was written. There's no way they'd make the Tier 1 so much stronger than the Tier 3.

  • @ArborTime said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3015011#Comment_3015011

    It isn't.

    1 second = 1 charge

16 charges per heal = 16 second base heal

Current self care brings this up to 32 seconds.

New self care brings this to ~45.5 seconds

With botany giving it an additional 50% speed, it would be 85% as effective.

Therefore, Botany + Self Care = ~19 seconds

I don't even have to do the math to know that this is wrong.

Current Self-care + Botany takes longer than 19 seconds.

Overcharge might become meta but it's hard to know for certain.

Have they changed the meta? Yes but has it really changed the core game? No.

If the objective was to remove slowdown perks from the killer meta then it 100% won't work. Survivor meta has changed but very very slightly.

    Yea, agreed.

The Jolt buff (a perk some Killers were already running) is another example that slowdown perks are still going to be a thing. Slowdown is still going to be the go to for Killers. And healing/second chance is still going to be the go-to for Survivors.

  • Most complaints about Dead Hard was it being used to get distance and not to avoid the hit. Now survivors, especially those who were never skilled with dead hard in the first place, won't be able to be overly greedy and abuse the distance they gain from pressing E.. It's not going to be nearly as abusable, meaning it is def a nerf.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

Because Spine Chill users DON'T look around, they watch the perk icon and soon as it lights up.... RUNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    This is true.

Running Spine Chill actually made me a worse survivor.

  • @GlamourousLeviathan said:

I think it depends if it indicates that they have activated it. Otherwise, it would be just the old waiting game for DH to activate but worse since you wouldn't know if it was used or not. It would be really problematic for killers who have predictable projectiles and would be really easy to use DH on. Demogorgon, Huntress and Blight just to name a few.

I think it does tell you. They responded to someone's tweet asking about it and they said it will let the Killer know when they use it.

    I can't remember who's tweet though. Sorry.

Yeah ngl that overcharge buff is insane, I wonder if it'll be tuned down before release.

I think it might. Keeping Survivors off a gen for 30seconds isn't that hard so the 400% regression bonus is... .-.

  • @CashelP14 said:

What I've taken from these changes are that the meta is different but the strategy will still be the same.

Killer will still run 4 slowdown perks. Pain Res, Pop, Deadlocked, DMS, Thana etc. Survivor will still be an anti-tunnelling perk and exhaustion perk. Probably BT, DS, Unbreakable and Sprint Burst. Off The Record might be in there I'm not certain.

The basekit pallet break, gen kick, gen speed changes are good.

Also the prestige changes are a massive disappointment as expected and I'm really sad to admit that.

I think with the kicking gens buff we might see Overcharge used more often, especially since it got massively buffed.

  • Imagine thinking the Bloodlust change is actually going to change anything. lol

But yea, I don't know if there is much to complain about.

Not really looking forward to the Overcharge buff though. .-.

  • @Mert_MK said:

They actually achieved the opposite and made tunneling a more effective tactic than ever, 5 second basekit BT can be easily waited out and DS is pretty much dead, not like it helped much against high mobility killers like Nurse and Blight, now it's even easier to tunnel a survivor out of the game. In the end people will still be forced to run BT or Off the Record now.

Also meanwhile they slightly increased genspeed's making camping more effective as well. They should have at least increased the hook timer. And in general pretty much everything about killer is buffed.

I don't get what they were thinking with these changes.

They said what it was: The number of kills was lower than they'd like it to be. 🤷

Still has to go through PTB. I expect some changes to occur there.

  • Overcharge meta incoming.

  • @M4dBoOmr said:

somehow I get the feeling people assume they are going to rework the meta by buffing the perks 🙄

As far as I understand it, they are going to nerf those 40 perks so they break up the meta and get people choose perks besides the 99% they currently use

You can't be serious. 100% refuse to believe it.

Not all the perks listed are Meta perks.

  • So, if I was reading the challenge correctly everyone can only do a max of 40 actions for it right? Skill Checks is obviously the easier way to do this as kicking gens is next to useless and most gens get done before you have time to kick them anyway.

40 is about 0.000133% of 30mil. That's 750,000 players needing to do the challenge.

I feel the "Your Contribution: 0/40" has to be misleading because this is outrageous and honestly, if true, impossible.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2995090#Comment_2995090

No you are wrong. You don´t decide whether an argument makes sense without offering one to counter it.

    So, according to you:

    • OP makes a thread about FoR Nurse being broken
    • Your "counter argument" is a whataboutism about SWF
    • OP isn't allowed to say this is irrelevant to their thread and their counter argument of "this is a whataboutism" is invalid
    • You now control the rules of the thread and they have to offer a real counter argument to your counter argument

This is silly. Where does it go from there? A counter-counter argument? I'm seriously confused at where this is going.

  • I only dislike it when he is runnign tombstone/piece and my team feeds him stalk and then he kills me. .-.

  • I find it weird that people are arguing that Sadako and The Dredge aren't comparable. They both teleport to a target and build something up on Survivors.

Sadako is weak. She has a bad secondary power and her teleport targets take forever to turn back on and can be shut off by survivors. Her only real power, which is limited to, like, 7 TVs that aren't available all the time and she can have this cut down further by survivors. She has basically no presence in chases. Her condemned is just... nothing. Countered easily by Survivors. Her invis is iffy, especially since it doesn't really ever help you secure downs.

The Dredge's teleport is just flat out better, mainly because he has more choices and he has a much shorter cooldown. He can't lock himself out of his teleport like Sadako can. On top of this he also has a decently strong anti-loop ability and building up of nightfall is not something that can be stopped by Survivors. Also, nightfall makes his chase and map-wide pressure stronger.

It's insane they would release a Killer like this immediately after Sadako, a killer everyone was already asking to be buffed.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2986866#Comment_2986866

All other characters that he listed have Different colored hats if they have the same hair. but haddie is all the same

    Yea. Exactly. lol

The only other character like this, at all, is Jill with her locked cosmetic. They better fix this because when I first saw Haddie's heads I actually was thinking it was intentional. lol .-.

  • I was saying the same thing when they revealed The Dredge. They are just a better Sadako is basically every way.

Sadako has the whole Condemned thing to build up a mori but, let's be honest, who's actually getting kills on survivor not on their final hook with this?

  • @Jay_Whyask said:

A bunch of characters have this bug. Dwight, Meg, Adam, Jeff, Felix etc.

Why is it a problem now? /s

    No.

  • It's always been considered "Greedy". Especially if it is unsafe and you get the unhooked Survivor killed for it, not just at the endgame, but throughout the game. I honestly don't know many survivor mains who would argue that it isn't.

I dunno if it really started with WGLF, but it definitely one of the reasons why unsafe unhooks are seen as Greedy.

The Killer is a jerk though and shouldn't have said anything. lol

Wdym? Overwatch is solid because things rarely change right now.

He's mainly talking about the situation around Overwatch, with Blizzard, and OW2. Besides, OW has had little to no content in the last 2 years, the only changes they make are Balance changes. This is bad for an ongoing, multiplayer game and is intensely boring. There's a reason everyone is talking about how dead the game is and how unhappy the players are.

    @[Deleted User] said:

Wdym going nowhere? It's getting more popular. People want more content and BHVR are giving it to them. That's normal.

Also, both of your points counter each other and makes your stance on things really confusing.

First 2 comments are exactly why Devs should make Borrowed Time basekit and killers who proxy-camp stop the hook-timer bar.

Playing Killer requires way more multi-tasking but as the Killer you are NEVER removed from the game because of cheap and <<UNFAIR>> """""""""tatctics""""""""

This is just an example of how people have ideas but they don't really think them through:

"killers who proxy-camp stop the hook-timer bar."

BHVR tried this. It was abused to all hell by survivors as many who thought about it said it would have been.

  • @JawsIsTheNextKiller said:

Knowing that these cheats exist makes me paranoid... Are they actually faster or are they just looping really well and am I imagining it?

    Right?

Like, there are times I feel stupid for thinking someone is speed hacking but when you chase them from on side of the map to the other, when they drop no pallets or loop, and you gain little distance on them as a 115% killer something is off.

  • @HeavenRoad said:

Yes exactly; thats my point. You can't know how skilled the players you will face will be, and thats #########.

before I could play chill builds and try killers up until green ranks or something

Now, I have to hardcore tryhard every game in case theres a stack of iri players, and its completely random. One game its 4 noobs, next game its 4 meta survs.

    Good Luck! :^)

Your grade has nothing to do with skill.

Your "skill rating" is a hidden number now. Does it mean much? Not really, no.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2764682#Comment_2764682

The grind has been a problem for the entirety of the game, the bloodweb system is just an awful progression system.

True. I'm mainly talking about the fact that after the first Bloodweb changes they never really mentioned the Grind until like 2 years ago. But only really in passing and "keeping an eye on it".

  • I'd hazard to say partially. They are extremely rare and a good Twins player is difficult to handle, what with their powerful camping and anti "regular survivor tools" kit, which causes them to be extremely unfun to play against. I don't think A LOT of survivors kill themselves on hook, but the strength of a good Twins player to camp while pressuring Gens is frustrating and at times feels unfair and unwinnable.

Do I think they are a strong Killer? Kinda? They promote "unfun" play (mainly camping) and the Toy Sword nerf pushes them further into this. I think the main issue is a lack of survivor knowledge and adaptability since they are so extremely rare to actually encounter.

  • They've "known" about the grind for at least 2 years.

Yet in the recent QnA it's like the first time they actually directly commented on looking at it and really taking it seriously. It's hard to explain, but just listen to how they talk about it in the recent QnA, as if they needed 2 years of collecting data to really see that it is an issue.

  • @jotaro said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2760892#Comment_2760892

I rarely see survivor mains complaining on these forums. Look at the front page and i can promise atleast 80% of the threads is killer mains crying. Everyday.

I don't play Killer, haven't for like 2+ years, but this is a little disingenuous. I'd say it's more like 70/30. On top of that, if "one side" is complaining all the time, everyday, does that say something about all those who main that side or does it say something about the game itself?

  • @ThanksForDaily said:

The "I'm quitting" killer main posts are just threats directly towards the devs. "Look devs, Im quitting. The game is unfair, survivor bad"

    And 9/10 still playing.

"9/10 still playing". Steam player count begs to differ. I play on PS4/PS5 and a lot of the people on my friends list have stopped playing all together or only play SWF.

I haven't played Killer in over 2 years myself. It is obvious there is, in some form, a lack of Killer players.

SBMM working in anyway wouldn't cause it to take so long to get Killer matches, especially after knowing (from the QnA) that they put some(an at times too much) weight on speed of finding a match. Including creating a match where there is a complete imbalance and one side's numbers show they'll stomp the other.

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2760890#Comment_2760890

Then medkits are your problem, not the perk. 50% is far too little to be restricted by a relatively small area on the map.

Medkits need a nerf, pretty sure many survivors would agree with that statement.

50% bonus healing in a decent (not small) area of the map, for all survivors. AND giving the ability to Self Care, again to all survivors, is strong. It would still be useful.

The new 75% is still overpowered.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2763174#Comment_2763174

Exactly. The reason why people find them unfun to face was never because of Toy Sword, it was because of the way they place Victor by the hook and wait to switch until someone goes in for the save.

Something which they will still be able to do.

Yup. Twins are insanely powerful campers since they can sit by hook while also pressuring gens. Once a player "masters" this they gain a huge advantage when so many players still don't full grasp what they are up against until they realize their regular tricks just don't work, and by then it is too late.

They came out over a year ago and so many players still fall victim to basic plays due to a complete lack the knowledge and practice. Since the Twins are only encountered like 1 out of every 100 games for many players its hard to expect them to adapt every time they show up.

Toy Sword doesn't address any of this.

  • I'm mainly confused by the fact that they don't seem to take into consideration that the Twins are partially doing so well at high levels of play because they are the least used Killer and rarely encountered so many high level survivors have little practice against them and many of their usual tricks just don't work.

Seriously though, when was the last time most of us actually encountered the Twins?

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

If you catch a player speed hacking, record a video and report.

    A couple things about this:

    1. Sometimes it is so subtle it is barely noticable until you pay attention to it and by that point the match is basically over.
    2. Recording a video takes time. Most of us don't have video recording software open all the time.
    3. BHVR needs to make it easier to report to them.
  • @NerfedFreddy said:

Sorry for your loss but nerf is justified and twins is absolutely unfun to play against

Nerfing them isn't going to make them any more fun to face. lol

Anyway, the nerf makes no sense. The reason "high MMR" Twins win all the time is because they are so rare no one knows how to really play against the Twins.

  • "The Q/A stream was very informative".

    This is a joke right?

The QnA was literally the same that it always it. Vague statements, avoiding the question, stupid jokes and Soon(tm). Well, that, and people asking the same questions that get asked every QnA.

I agree the way they have implemented SBMM is fine (his analogy is bad though) even if I think Hooks should count. There's a thing called a "draw". I'm mainly fine with how MMR is in DBD because it literally means nothing.

  • The CoH nerf is literally nothing. If -25% makes you stop using I dunno what to tell you.

75% bonus healing + Self-Care for the whole team is still Overpowered.

  • Two things:

Why do players care, at all, about an invisible ranking they cannot see and have no way of knowing if they have high/low of?

" the killer has to really sweat a lot to achieve the balanced 2K/2E". Killers have to sweat for basically anything depending on the level of skill of the survivors. 2k is easier than a 4k.

    ---

I agree though that Survivor is chill. There's a reason I don't play Killer.

  • I see no reason why Killer's need this information. It wouldn't help, or hurt, anything. 🤷

As an aside: Killers who decide to camp and and/or tunnel already know who they hooked. Either they are on the hook already or they are the most recent survivor unhooked. It's not like a tunneler isn't like "I don't know who I just hooked" when they'd be chasing them already.

  • @ShinobuSK said:
