Yeah and space coconut just put out a vid about the grind like a week ago
Its annoying that many around here ignore things until some streamer brings it up. Personally, I dislike both Scott and Coconut.
Many of us have been complaining about the grind for years but they both have a way about them that gives off the airs that they are the first one to really try and do something about it.
-
"Of 95/84 perks, only 4 show up on your bloodweb at a time, and even then you can only purchase two at a time. This means that you have to go through 570/504 levels of the bloodweb to unlock every perk in the game and get them to T3."
This isn't completely accurate as the lower levels only have 1, then 2, then 3. It takes a while to get to 4 perks per bloodweb. So, while its cheaper at lower levels to get through the web, you have less variety and control over what you actually unlock.

New players don't have every single character and new set of perks. The grind will only be hard if they are a completionist like you and want every single perk regardless of whether they'll use it or not.
And at that point, it's a self imposed grind. I play sparingly and still have every perk I want to use on a P3 Felix You may as well complain about cosmetics being a grind to get at that point.
Imagine defending the grind because "if you want all the perks you are a completionist".
This can't be real.
Hell, I don't want every single perk and only aim for specific ones on my new account (created to play with my fiance) and its still a pain to get the ones I want while also making sure I have something on my main.

Give him a full second before using the tentacle attack. Thats all he needs. I get 120 FPS plus have a 144 Refresh Monitor and his ready up and attack animation looks almost the same to me. Lower FPS makes it easier to dodge him but you're ######### outta luck with higher ones.
If you listen you can hear him start it then you have to predict when he'll use it then you just turn 90 degrees and avoid it.
Nemesis isn't oppressive and he is one of the easiest Killers to run around the place. faking vaults and pallets screws him over more than Deathslinger. You also get a free hit + speed boost and then can pocket another one by picking up a vaccine.
-
The game is a mess right now, and this patch has just continued on with what this year has been: Extremely Buggy Patch (they've always been buggy but the 2021 chapters have been the worst yet), and a Killer that feels unrewarding for most to play.
All of this ontop of the Grind just getting worse. The price of each node in the Bloodweb needs to be, at least, cut in half. It would still take a long time to level characters and get the perks you want, but it would take half as long as it does now. 🤷♂️

It's a damn shame they didn't give you the ability to reset them at range as a secondary action, because the amount of times they've gotten stuck on random objects (or guaranteed spots like the cranes on autohaven) almost surpasses the amount of times they've been legitimately impactful for me. But it's clear that the game probably couldn't even handle something as simple as that considering the poor state it's in right now.
The game is a disaster right now. lol

yep and if you're facing people that know how to play against it (or just get lucky) good luck getting to t3, let alone t2 w/o marvin's blood.
i've found that it's much safer to just bop people in the beginning and only use the tentacle when there's no other option (ie when they're going for a window/pallet you can't make with a lunge) or they're trying to (mistakenly) play around a low loop. compare that to PH where i feel confident going for all kinds of crazy shots because I know that they'll be impactful if they land and he kinda falls off for me.
he feels really unrewarding to play at the start of the match unless you get some good RNG with the zombies.
That on top of the fact that PH can hit through walls. And hit multiple survivors at once.
I am notoriously bad at chases and I find I can easily run most Nemesis for a while due to the easy dodge and extra free hit if they focus on their power. Hell, faking pallets and windows screws him harder than, I think, any other ranged killer.
Zombies are trash like 90% of the time. I've seen some jerking back and forth stuck in place on literally nothing. BHVR has GROSSLY overestimated the strength of Zombies and have balanced Nemesis around this. That's why he feels so off and High Risk-Low Reward. If they fix Zombies he would at least be half way decent imo.

“and that's not even touching how useless and non-threatening actually being infected is for survivors.”
You mean the part where it doesn’t matter if you’re at full health, and either Nemesis or Zombies will always hear where you are? I.e. a good tracking tool?
Yeah, not useful at all......
Tracking on a Killer with no pressure doesn't mean a whole lot though. Also, just pop a vaccine. They can no longer hear you and you get another free hit.
Zombies have some of the most jank and unreliable AI i have ever seen. They get stuck on literally nothing.
-
At first I would have agreed with this. But after one match using the Vaccine is insanely overpower and costs Nemesis more time to deal with than it does grabbing and using it.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
if people just spread out and do gens he loses instantly
3 hits with the first hit giving a speed boost is ridiculous
At level one its also incredibly easy to dodge. Easier than PH's shot.

It’s funny how it’s always the survivors fault on here. Killer plays horrible, it’s survivors fault as they shouldn’t play the game lol. 🤦♂️
Nemesis is the easiest Killer in the game to loop atm. You get a free health state + speed if he tries to use his power.
Also, going in for saves while the Killer is camping IS the survivors' fault. Do gens, get out faster. If you go in you are just rewarding the Killer.

I'm not trying to dismiss anyone's complaints - you have every right to be frustrated, especially if you paid for the DLC today - but it might help if everyone remembers that glitchy games are a regular thing unfortunately, not just a BHVR thing, and that they're already working to try to fix the issues. Any time that pretty much any developer tries to update a game with as many variables as this one something usually goes wrong.
Does that make it fun or seem fair? No, of course not. But try not to let it keep you down. Give it some time and the bugs should be worked out soon. This is, for better or worse, not unusual nor unique to this company.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2274735#Comment_2274735
Thanks for sharing this. You might actually want to send a report directly to BHVR so they notice.
Glitches in games is normal and should be expected.
However, the sheer volume and variety of the bugs and glitches we experience in dbd is unlike any other game I've ever played that isn't Goat Simulator.
-
I find him to be the easiest killer, on release, to loop. Every killer since Spirit release has given me more trouble.
-
It's really annoying tbh.

Why is PS4 more laggy than Xbox? On my side I don’t experience that much lag. Sometimes it lags and my game freezes but I heard it’s worse on PS4
No idea. But the studdering and freezing is so bad that when it ends the camera is whipped around and your going in the opposite direction you wanted to go. Lol
-
His tentacle is insanely easy to avoid, and if he focuses on trying to infect you you can loop him for ages very easily. I am notoriously bad at loops and I can run all the Nemesis I've faced a ton. Once you do get hit you get a speed boost for taking no damage. It's crazy.
I dunno, his power is too slow for the range and what little it does on first hit.
Zombies are trash and, for some reason, were nerfed from the ptb.
-
@OopsAllHexes said:
Everything about this patch was stupid except the LB buff, which was needed. The nerf that was given before it left PTB made it trash again.
I'm assuming they nerfed Franklin's because they knew it would be good on Nemesis for shutting down vaccines, just like how Stridor is wonderful for Spirit.
Who even uses vaccines though?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/249196/final-4-7-0-tier-list
The real tier list, not sorted in order in tiers. Once you have played the game for 5k hours playing both sides. This is the only tier list that makes sense.
Only thing of note is i do think blight is brushing up against that line, and as people get better with blight, we may see in time that he moves up a tier.
Lol that Plague placement is nonsense.
She's actually amazing.
Also that Oni placement is ridiculous and it doesn't matter how you try to explain it away, we all know Oni is one of the best killers in the game so why waste your time?
-
Billy isn't that goes anymore. He's not bag, he's just not THAT good. Also, I would argue that Billy's potential isn't as good as Leatherface's. Not since the changes.
-
The thing is though is that if they focus on bugs they are worried they'll lose players, as many leave when things get stale until the new Killer/Archive is released.
I, mean, its not like I disagree with you I just doubt it'll ever happen since the last time they talked about it they said they are going to use the Mid-Chapter patch as the main bug fix patch.
🤷♀️

No I don't even bother reporting anymore. I just thought maybe is a coincidence but at this point idk what to believe, Like the game is completely different for about a week. Either players changed, or i just get the bad ones(NO OFFENSE)
You can't report for camping anyways so, you know.

I just did a match where there were 3 keys. 1 Purple and 2 iridescent. Only one of us had Plunderers and they didn't even find one of the iridescents.

I said that I don't care either way. I thought I was super clear about the fact that a character's sexuality in this game doesn't bother me one way or the other because it's not something that I really think about.
I feel like I there's just no way I can win here. I tried.
I've read many of your posts here and this is the only one that bothers me.
You say you don't care. But you obviously care. If you didn't care you wouldn't be trying to "win" anything as, since you don't care, you have no stance either way. Own up to your stance, and let everyone know you actually care about what you are saying.
Even if I disagree with most of what you've said, when you say "I don't care" after all that? That's more upsetting.

Oh, wait, I missed this post where you show you actually think the pip system is a functional win/lose system. Yeah, it's not, it is completely broken and does nothing. That's why most people go by kills. Because even the Devs have said the pip system doesn't work.
I agree that its broken but I disagree that piping up means you threw the game.
There's a balance there, but Rank and pips mean literally nothing. Just a ton of players put a lot of value in them. For some reason.
-
If you actually play the game then you would actually pip after using a key though.
-
I've always disliked facing the Wraith and now its even worse.
I'm glad they buffed a weak Killer, but I'm upset it was the Wraith. lol
-
I love anime.
But please no anime.

@Firellius said:
The vid is just going so hard on the 'It's not that valuable' angle that it's basically making a very strong case for the removal of J-flicking. Apparently J-flicking makes Blight worse, so why would Blights not want it removed, then?
This exactly.
-
He says this might be the most important video he's ever made lol.
Also his "proof" that the Dev said it's doable on console is him saying you need a high-sensitivity device. This immediately excludes Console.
His comparison to Nurse is also laughable. Nurse breaks the game by design with her power, but she also has a ton of downsides. By design. J-Flick Blights have no downsides inputted by design.
Every killer is useable on console, they may not be as precise but PC players aren't exploiting anything to make them useable.
All in all kind of a terrible video with weak arguments where he not only plays himself as the protagonist but also talks down to everyone.
Again, hilarious.
-
I saw the title and knew it was Sluzzy.
-
Last night as a survivor was terrible.
First match we had an AFK and the Wraith(who used Streamers) just went super hard. 1 gen don, by me.
Next match was a tunneling Huntress. I got 4k BP in that game.
Third was a pig who tunneled by sitting on hills and watching the hook. If you had a trap on you were never getting it off. Didn't help that the Feng and Claude never touched a gen. 2 gens done total, one by me and the other my fiance.
Fourth was a Spirit with BBQ, Thana, Sloppy and Devour Hope. It was hell and I died before I could find the Devour Totem. I did 2 gens though. Of the 3 that were done. Lol
We quit after that because it was frustrating. ):

Freddy's addons were already pretty garbage before the changes. The action speed actions were one of his best addons, but they weren't even that good since their values were gutted. Sure you could combine it with Thana and Sloppy and add some extra time to those actions, but most of the work was being done by Thana and Sloppy.
Yeah but they made them useless. Again though, I don't really care. lol
-
As a Survivor? Probably going to be the first sacrificed. I'm usually right.

The changes aren't really that big of a deal. Snares are just as effective as before, they just require more skill to use correctly at loops. The only thing is that while it does make Freddy take a bit more skill to use, he's still nowhere near the skill level of other killers.
Freddy is more hurt by the BT change honestly as it means he can't guarantee free downs at unhooks.
I dunno, the add-on changes are pretty rough.
And the alarm clock changes. oof.
I don't mind though. I loathe playing against him so its not a huge deal to me.

Totally agreed but 100% seems too much. Maybe 105 or even 110?
That's what I was think too.
Leaning more towards 105% but 110% would have been fine. Especially with all these other nerfs.
-
@Phasmamain said:
More B tier but this is pretty harsh. Moving 100% does hurt his chase quite a lot
He needed a slow down when using Snares though.
But (no matter how much I hate playing against him) I feel they may have hit him a little too hard.

Freddy was annoying and was overperforming by a huge margin. He deserved a nerf.
This might be a little too hard of a nerf but we'll see.

@YOURFRIEND said:
Is the small game range decrease for every totem YOU cleanse, or for each totem total?
Every Totem, as the Tokens represent how many totems are left on the map so it goes down every time a totem is cleansed by any survivor.
-
I loathe Freddy but this might be too big of a nerf. I dunno.
-
Old Legion had little (after first changes) to no (release) counterplay.
Trickster has a ton of Counterplay.
So no.
-
They could have not played Killer much/ever but put a ton of Bloodpoints into Spirit while playing Survivor.
-
Blood Pact isn't "underrated", its rated exactly as it should be. Let's look at it.
- It only shows you 1 aura, max. No more. Not good.
- The obsession sees you when you see the aura. Still not good.
- Gives a haste to you and the obsession when you heal them or they heal you, completely. Passable but rarely useful.
- The haste only lasts while you are within 16 metres of each other. Not great.
- It deactivates if you are the obsession. Terrible.
---
On topic: What does this really have to do with the DS change? Its not really any different besides the fact you can't do whatever you want for 60s. Also, I don't even know anyone who ran it due to the fact that it was an obsession perk.
-
The Huntress' hatches have always been wonky.
Not much we can do about it.

You don't have to moonwalk to gens, just don't directly face the gen you're going to and it won't light up. I run Spine Chill every game and it's the only counter I have for Spirit and Nurse. Stealth killers like to complain that it nerfs them, but it really doesn't I have no idea what direction they are coming from and sometimes walk right into them. Just because someone is playing a stealth killer doesn't mean they deserve an easy first hit or instant down.
I know. I overgeneralized.
A Killer can't always be walking in a way to not activate Spine Chill though. Unless they know exactly where the Survivors are they can't be sure they are even doing things right.
I agree that Stealth Killers shouldn't get a free hit, but I still think the activation range is too far on it. Again, it gives more than just information and if you have any idea of where the Killer was you can usually get an idea of where they are coming from.
-
My Fiance and I go into every match saying "Oh Good its not Freddy. Thank God." or "Damn it. Its Freddy. Greeeat."
We never DC against him but he is one of the most unfun Killers to go against. He has a bloated kit and is just generally really annoying.
-
@Viskod said:
All a killer has to do is back up to gens and it negates Spine Chill.
So are you walking backwards all game or...?
Spine Chill isn't only active when working a Gen.

I'm not sure what to make of this thread. This is not a debate about "Ethics". Neither of the things you posted has anything to do with what may or may not be "Ethical". Ethics is a lot more complicated than "they showed my screen name!!!" and "They should compensate players for randomly being matched with them!".
Do you realize how many online multiplayer games are streamed? Are those "unethical"? An example is League of Legends. Randomly matched with players, competitive, winners and losers. Should the Streamer have to compensate all 9 other players they get matched with?
I don't stream, I have no plans to ever stream, but this is honestly ridiculous.
