Except they can get too dark. It’s very, very easy for Survivors to hide on Sanctum of Wrath. Sometimes they’ll just vanish right in front of you because of how dark that map is. No map should be anywhere near that dark.
100% true.
The number of times Survivors have just... disappeared in Sanctum of Wrath is insane. Also I do it all the time as survivor.
-
Maybe have it so you can have 2 Challenges at once. But other than that, nothing.
I haven't found anything to be exceptionally challenging.
-
All I see is you running Windows of Opportunity at Rank 1.
Is this Bizarro world? @.@

Have read this on the Forum before that players with Inner Strength sometimes think that all the Totems belong to them.
But yeah, this is the risk of running Inner Strength. Nobody should expect that he will be able to cleanse a Totem.
Would just ignore it, this is entitlement at its best.
I have encountered a few players who have reacted poorly to me doing totems because they had Inner Strength. One bodyblocked me until the Killer came by, and only moved to Dead Hard out of the way of the Killer, leaving me to get hit. And another refused to unhook me and just teabagged me.
The crazy thing is is that I was ALSO running Inner Strength. For me though, if people are doing totems I am happy.

Because I did that to a Huntress earlier today.
Nah it was an Ace. lol

*looks at dailies*
Obviously not talking about dailies lol. Since the Archive is a new thing.
Though honestly, I totally forgot about them.🤫 -
Here's an example of it punishing me for playing, and not because I was tunneling.
Playing the Huntress I opened a locker to refill my hatchets, however Instead of getting hatchets I pull out the Ace that was unhooked a little bit ago. I get DS and still have no hatchets. Cool.
-
So little?
You realize that the BP from the Archive is, like, a new thing right? Like, before the Archive people didn't have something like this giving them bonus BP?

Okay, both Jeff and Adam have one or two decent cosmetics. The problem I have with Jeff is the devs keep giving him the same type of cosmetics.
That's true.

At least Adam has some decent cosmetics. We Jeff mains get the same crap over and over.
Disagree completely.
I don't think any of Adam's cosmetics are good. Jeff has a few good ones, in my opinion.

Was Ghost face release stale though? I remember being insane with all the nerfs and buffs and now he's a super popular killer.
-
They haven't been quiet though.
Just because they don't address every complaint or worry or issue someone may have doesn't mean they are being quiet. They can't get to everything so they address what they can and what they think is most important.
They don't always make the best choice but at least they are trying.
You regular these forums enough to know this to be true.
-
Its suppose to make SWF match with a Killer that is closer to the highest rank survivor, not the lowest.
Suppose to. But I have experienced facing Red Rank survivors when I am below Rank 10 myself. I don't know if its a glitch, or what, but its nonsense.
-
Yes. Killers can barely, if at all, hear footsteps. Again.
Though as a survivor I've been experiencing something different. I dunno if it's just Kate or what but when I'm running around a map with a hard floor, like the Game, my footsteps sound like two people. Especially when I'm injured.

Stop with this nonsense.
Just because you don't want to take a perk to deal with slugging doesn't mean it's a "cheap trick".

I wouldn't deny that it can be valid, I just know you complain a lot.

I don’t mean that you’re lying I think they devs are lying when they say it’s a bug
I'm confused about how, with how it was placed, how clear it was, and how easily it fit in the spot, that this was a bug.
Like... someone had to create the code to place a players rank above their character and have it so it was positioned and sized correctly to not cover any of the other information.

There's also the problem that I am trying to play normally and everyone else is throwing games by saving in front of the killer with BT regardless of circumstances, going super immersed the entire game because they don't want to get hooked once with spine chill, DCing/suiciding on hook if they go down once because they won't do their challenges, killers running constant basement builds, tunneling and camping anyone who's the obsession, or intentionally throwing games and AFKing to get EGC to happen so they can do some bloodwarde/NOED cheese to get two kills at the end.
^ Happens whether I care about the Rift or not. I as a solo survivor do not get to choose to play with people who care about the Rift and people who don't.
Then there's the simple fact that it doesn't matter if I care about the Rift or not -- the Rift is what it is. A predatory, grindy, monetization model in a game that's already pay to play with other monetization schemes, designed to prey on people's impatience and time limiting everything so if they don't play the game constantly, they miss out.
I'd like to be able to play the game without having a time limit of missing out on rewards or getting nothing. Have you seen the free track? The only things of real actual worth are put at the very very end. Nobody who wants to play the game now and then or even an hour a day despite their claims will ever make it to the end of the track. To make me work for 200~300 hours and claim it's a gift and that I should be happy and honored to get something for free and that it's all an act of good-will at all is incredibly baffling to me in a game I paid for, paid for DLCs in, and purchased cosmetics in.
So long as you are surviving and playing decently you'll last long enough to make a decent amount of rift fragments. People have always played poorly and farmed each other on hook, or played immersive, this isn't something new and it isn't an accurate criticism against the battle pass.
You say you are "trying" and that it is grindy, but I honestly have no idea what you are talking about from my own experience. Just playing the game and doing the challenges appears to be enough. What Tier are you at right now?
FoMo (Fear of missing out) is a you issue. It is not something you can use to put down a system or show that the system is somehow "bad". If you care so much about the cosmetics and charms then do something about it. If you can't meet the requirements to complete the rift then that is too bad, you don't deserve these things just because you want them.
Sure, most of it is behind a pay wall but if you complete the rift you actually make your cells back, which leads me to my next point:
BHVR is not here just to hand you things. They are a company selling a product. Sure you had to pay for the game, but there is nothing in the rift that gives you an advantage. It is all optional cosmetics. And optional things in this game are already being sold for real money. At least with the rift, if you finish it, you make all your cells back which you can then use on the next rift and, probably, make your cells back again and just keep going having paid for all the cosmetics and charms you unlock once.
-
Playing as a Killer on PS4 is excruciating at times because once you hit green ranks you are going to start facing sweaty high purple/red rank survivors. Its not fun and it makes me even less willing to play Killer.
So, yeah, there is definitely a lack of high rank Killers on PS4 because the average Survivor rank is almost always 6+ ranks higher. I know you are suppose to be able to face survivors up to 6 ranks above or below your kilelr rank, but it seems the norm that they are on average 5-6 ranks over you. Not to mention when you get SWF where they break the matchmaking even more.

I think a lot of people are forgetting the fact we had an entire 11 day head start on this Rift. That's not an inconsiderate amount of time.
I think the Rift grind would be fine if there was more time or the amount of normal matches required was lower. Give people some days they can take off from the game. Feeling like I have to play the game every single day or sink A LOT of time in a single day to take the next day off makes grind feel awful and quickly leads to player burnout, which I felt after two weeks into the rift and at this point the game no longer feels like a game and just feels like a job and I definitely will be taking a loooong break after this Rift is over.
As it stands now, the Rift imo feels very unrewarding. I don't care about charms (I hate them), most of the cosmetics are for characters I don't care about, and the free track is a joke since 80% of the free tracks rewards are literally just event currency that we would have gotten anyways except a two week grind was instead shoved into the rift and turned into a two month grind instead whilst killing the idea of event objectives ever being a thing again and half of the cosmetics in said free track are either crappier recolors of cheap cosmetics you could get much easier with shards in the shop and the only actual unique cosmetics are pushed to the very end of the track which would take an average player 50~60 days of constant grinding to even get.
It just doesn't feel rewarding. It just feels like a carrot on a stick to try and keep me playing and working. I do not appreciate being treated like I am some dumb mindless animal after I already have given them plenty of money buying the game, buying lots of DLCs and buying cosmetics. This isn't even mentioning the fact that they lied, and they had lied hard about how much time it would require to complete the rift in the first place.
It all just comes off as so ungrateful to the people who helped them make their game successful. They literally turned a game I liked to enjoy from time to time into a literal ######### job.
[BAD WORD] battle passes.
I am sooo confused right now.
Do you find playing DBD to be a grind?
Why do you put so much emphasis on the rift? Do you find it difficult to put it as an extra incentive to play/reward for playing?
Do you think the Rift is the main reason to play?
I honestly don't understand these complaints about it being grindy. If you completed it what would you be doing? Would you still be playing? If so, how is it a grind to complete it if you are going to be playing regardless?
-
Do what my fiance did:
- Play as Freddy.
- Run Blood Warden. The rest can be whatever you want.
- Play on Hawkin's because it has the highest Sacrifice rate.
- Mori one player.
- Hook, but do not sacrifice/kill, the rest of them at least once. Ensure they get unhooked.
- Wait for them to get the final Gen complete after they 3 Gen themselves. This may take a while.
- Slug all of them, open the gate and hook the closest Survivor/the most annoying one.
- If someone gets up due to a perk, find them at the exit gate and hook them.
- Take the final survivor too the hatch because you are merciful.
- You did it!
This is only partially serious because this is exactly what happened in his game.
-
So. According to OP all the Killers are fine, and don't need buffs/QoL changes, because it doesn't matter if they feel weak or frustrating to play so long as someone, anyone, can 4k at red ranks with them?
Hmmmmm. 🤔

I've been getting that feeling as well. Except I've been playing both sides, game has gotten stale for me, I cant play for more than a few matches now, especially at high ranks, its just not enjoyable at all for me.
I still play the game but I just dont really have fun anymore, I get SOME fun rounds here and there but most have me sweating and just not having fun. So I've stopped and only play a few games every now and then. Then I move on to playing the game I've actually been enjoying for the past 3 months
I have some huge issues with battle for neighborville. Most notably the lack if rewardatron updates since release (ie. None) and the weird balancing but it's fine. Glad someone is getting enjoyment out of it. Lol

Maybe it's obvious now that the rift is one month in but back when I bought it it was advertised as casual friendly, how it take one hour a day and that everyone could complete it .
If you were playing one hour a day and doing the tomes this whole time you'd be quite a bit along now compared to taking a month off hoping they'd change the system.
And if they did you'd be complaining you'd have to play x hours a day to complete it, because obviously playing an hour a day was to much for you.
This is a system that is in place to reward loyal players who play regularly.
You spent your own money on this. They didn't force you to and they didn't trick you. You decided you didn't want to attempt it and now you are back complaining it's going to be even harder for you to complete it. I'm not really sure what you were expecting but with how long the rift is around for you should have expected it wouldn't be a "blast it out in a week" affair.
-
I dunno about XBox but on PS4 if you press down the touchpad in the middle of the controller it flips the y-axis. Its annoying but easily fixed. XBox probably has something similar.

My point is before the rift...someone who played 10 rounds did it because they wanted to. Now if that same person plays 10 rounds, they look at it as a grind and not the same game they were JUST playing.
Yea. Its crazy. Though a lot of them seem to be the kind of people who have a "fear of missing out" and make that the most important fact.
I think, for some people, they just haven't realized nothing is different except for the fact they get more out of playing now.
-

I never really considered playing the game after challenges were finished to be "grinding". To me...it was just the reason why I hop on DBD to begin with...to play the game. Really wish more people would get that and stop thinking of playing the game they enjoy as a job or chore.
This is basically why the rift is even here, besides(obviously) to make some money. They want people to play their game, and by doing so you unlock things for the game so it creates an incentive to keep playing and thus keeps the game going.
I don't understand why people think they should be able to unlock these things by not playing, without paying for it. Its confusing to say the least.
-
I'm at Tier 60 right now and I never paid for any levels. I still have a few Challenges in tome 3 to do too.
😶
I don't really play nonstop but I dunno.

Having to play non stop to unlock the rift means something is not right. I've stumbled on some free to play games that have a less time consuming battlepass
Its not even that grindy. Stop exaggerating.
And if you don't play for a month and then don't even want to play 7 games a day for the next month, why should you be able to unlock everything in the rift?

if im not wrong if you unhook 3 survivors and have maxout point in altruism you will get one iridescent emblem
edit: also you can hide in killer's terror radius to max out your chaser emblem
Isn't it only 2 so long as you heal and they are safe? I'm sure I got iridescent this way.
@kornz2dope Do 3 gens to get lightbringer. Doing totems and opening the gate helps too so you don't have to do all 3 by yourself, though it helps secure it.
I just finished it earlier this evening, it took a while but it was fine.

Lose your save data? Everything is tied to your account, which is connected to the DBD servers. So long as you sign in with the same account you shouldn't ever lose progress.

Yeah. Ok. Sure.

-
Wasn't Spirit changed because she dominates the top ranks?
🤔 Do players looking to have fun play at these ranks?
I don't think they are only focusing on "fun" and they aren't only focusing on the "top" players. So its fine.
Also "For me I think that currently the devs have nothing in regard to good players and the only thing they do to compensate is to make very strong new killers, this is not the solution." Lmao! Demogorgon says "Hi".
-
"But most of the Perks are either useless or situational and that's why I made them changes."
You list Brutal Strength, Spirit fury, Stridor, Third Seal, Knock Out and Bamboozle.
All of these Perks are either strong/"meta" or good in specific builds. A Perk being "situational" is not bad. Stridor is, basically, core on Spirit. Bamboozle is good in speedy builds, Third Seal and Knock Out are strong in Slugging builds. Changing them to what you think are "good" ideas would either make them less useful overall or too strong in their specific builds.
About your fanmade perks. I find them to be, over all, poorly designed.
Hold Up is literally a worse Pop Goes The Weasel.
I'll Give Up is already BoP on the PTB.
Destroyed Cohesion... I can't decide if this is a terrible perk or overpowered.
Partners in Crime so situational and restricted for so little. You also should never run this in Solo.
Broken Partnership not really sure why you would run this ever.
Perception Disorder is just a huge HUGE BP buff to SWF. Solo survivors would die way to quickly, and be too useless to their group, to make enough BP to justify ever using it.
Also, what happens if two people run Partner perks? What happens if more than two run it? What happens if everyone does?
-
I'm sure they didn't mean anything offensive by it.
