About .. devs only balance the game to 1% of good players

I think this topic is very repetitive, but I will address it.

If you have seen the ScootJund video, I think it is a faithful image and the devs should pay some attention to their ideas.

I think you can't make the balance be based on the factor *fun*.

The game should be fun but not do this as a basis for balance.

I am totally that the game is fun but you can't balance a game in this way, because on the survivor side there are very abusive things, where you can hurry and get to last 5 minutes .. is it fun? I think not.. the infinites *strong loops*? i think not...

I believe that devs should also think of their former players, not all focusing on their new players at least 50 and 50 is a good number of balance. For me I think that currently the devs have nothing in regard to good players and the only thing they do to compensate is to make very strong new killers, this is not the solution. The solution is to touch the core of the game and touch all the ranks, I insist again .. focus on the oldest players because little by little the old players leave this game for the reasons that they no longer have fun because of a bad balance on the part of the devs.

The game has evolved since 2006 ... it has improved but not enough and you have a lot of work ahead.

  • The experienced players you speak of have typically have gotten good enough at whatever different killers they play to stay competitive. If your watching Scott Jund's videos, you'll notice one example of this.

  • Upper 1% on both sides ? Feels more like lower 50% survivors sometimes.

Most games get balanced for the top, thats where it matters the most. If its balanced for the sweaty tryhards then its also balanced for the potatoes and babies. But matchmaking made it too EZ for deathsquads to eat babies for too long.

Offopic but i dont understand this being called a party game. Especially if the comparison mentions mario party or kart. Those games are competetive as #########, especcialy with friends.

Playing alone on some occasions can be tedious ... but playing killer against premade 2-3 or 4 is impossible ... and for me I dont think it is optimal to balance the game for a tiny part of good players. I don't have the solution or how the devs will do it ..

  • The 1% is not even balanced that's why the game is survivors sided. Have you seen the syndicate team playing survivors against 4000 - 6000 hours killers. They get looped into oblivion even nurse herself.

All survivors aren't even that good that's why many say he is balanced for killers now. In reality he is for the low-mid tier players. Scott is an experienced player not a god tier player. However as flickbilly they are clearly the strongest you can be with billy, they destroy everyone because pretty much no one is used to that very high level of gameplay.

No matter how much this forum or community want it to believe it the good survivors still control the flows for killers (gen rush is controlled by survivors , some power is controlled by survivors (plague), Loops is played correctly can be a huge time waster). The game is hard to balance because you have to hook 3 time each survivors.

Anyway my point we should be thankful that the large community don't play like that or this game would still be a nightmare for killers. If they want a strong balance they have to balance those.

    1. Reduce number of tiles close of each other (Jungle Gym , L-T wall etc...) because those can be exploited to create practically an infinite (Suffocation Pit is the perfect exemple of it).
    2. Buff all killers to at least be mid-tier or High tier.
    3. Second chance perk reduce the skill cap a lot (exhausion perks except SB and HO) and can increase chase time way too much and have infinite uses.

  • Some time ago i got the opinion too, that the devs should balance for high level play. Now i'm starting to think, that the balance decisions of the devs maybe stopped the game from becoming only competetive. I mean look at LoL and Overwatch. Both of these games are dead for casuals. I don't want to be forced to leave dbd too, because i can't afford playing a game for a living.

  • The game should be rank affected, make dropping rank and getting ranks harder, then have gen speed affected by rank and sacrifice time affected by rank, higher rank survivors have to spend longer doing gens and higher rank killers have longer for a full sacrifice time, giving survivors more time to save and killers more time to actually have a chance, whilst lower ranks learn, as for the balance of this, we need serious players not the crybaby "oh I got hit nerf them to oblivion" players or "I got ds nerf it to dust" players, those that actually play the game as they would be best for balancing high and low ranks, something that should have happened from start

I think Dead Hard deserves an identity as a skill based perk... the killer reads it the next time, you have to not look behind you in order to not tell the killer and have to work from red glow... on the killer’s end a skill is required off them to work out the survivor has dead hard... simply see no BL, no SB or Lithe trigger before you get close to them.

BT removes most of the skill from the game honestly because you don’t need to be tactical around what the killer does... no need for stealth, no need to do gens if they proxy, no need to read the killer, and a teammate that you save can tank a hit for you.

  • just look at deathgarden, if you balance for the minority in a game like this, the game will just flat out die since the majority are solo queue survivors, who aren’t that great, or meh killers.

  • that's why I despise rainbow six siege all choices are made by what the pro league people say

But refusing to balance the issues only at high ranks creates extreme frustration for anyone who has to suffer through it.

I don't believe it's the end all be all of balance but it works better than trying to work around the middle of your playerbase.

  • Wasn't Spirit changed because she dominates the top ranks?

🤔 Do players looking to have fun play at these ranks?

I don't think they are only focusing on "fun" and they aren't only focusing on the "top" players. So its fine.

Also "For me I think that currently the devs have nothing in regard to good players and the only thing they do to compensate is to make very strong new killers, this is not the solution." Lmao! Demogorgon says "Hi".
