Besides Otz,and by good I mean not fooling around every game,dc-ing or killing themselves on hook when something doesn't go their way.
Watched a bit of Zubat stream recently and he literally dced after he didn't liked something in the match.Used to watch Puppers a while ago until I saw him just throwing games and killing himself on first hook for no reason.
The others I watch they either just equip flashlights and fool around the whole game barely doing any gens with OoO or just run ds,adrenaline and your usual meta builds.
I honestly think survivors that still do good without running ds,unbreakable,dead hard,adrenaline,sprint burst,bt or object are legends,tho you dont see many of those around.
Search up Sweh on youtube hes stupidly good at survivor

Pop would still be perfectly viable.
DS presents all sorts of balance issues because it's essentially a band-aid fix for built-in game mechanics that they don't want to touch either.
The perk has just been bugged and trials were a tunnel fest. I'm sure the devs have enough data from those days and they weren't encouraging.
seeing a survivor getting downed by a wraith instantly after eating a ds brought a tear to my eye the the other day XD

For the most part I am having fun as killer. I hate that even with Undying my totems get popped instantly because of incredibly crappy spawn spots. And my biggest pet peeve is DS after all the gens are done. The gens are done, the game is over. If you get caught after the gens are all done I don't think you should get your second chance per then. It is incredibly frustrating as killer to get a hook in the end game, friends get him off the hook and there is nothing you can do. He can just DS and saunter out the gate with time for a F you teabag on the way out.
If all gens pop and you didn't kill one of them than everyone deserves to escape, 1k or 0k it doesn't make a difference that something you did was not right that game all you are doing there is just denying the killed survivor bloodpoints

Ok so just so we are clear the healing speed on dying survivors is a buff but most likely laughable as you start healing at 99.
Calm down man it was just a twiter post, as far as we know it could be anything that gives us tokens. Dbds twitter guy is probably stupid or doesn't even play the game to know that wglf already gives tokens on flashlight and pallet saves, so yea wait for the ptb then we will see what the new ways of getting tokes are

- Make it so it can be used multiple times
- Make it so that the perk deactivates if you get healed, or heal for 1 health state, or start repairing a generator, or cleansing a totem, opening a gate. etc.
Much better than the stupid changes op wants

They said in twitter that the new ways to get tokens is flashlight saves and pallet saves. The problem is that you already get tokens for doing them.
I haven't used wglf much to know if you get a token that way, if you are right than something is wrong here since on the tooltip of the perk it only says protection hits and unhooks. If the new ways of getting tokens boils down to only pallet and flashlight saves than the perk will still be bad in comparison to barbeq, wglf needs to reward the player for doing the objective like barbeq the killer is rewarded for hooking survivors since he is going to do that anyway he gets rewarded for doing the obvious objective. Flashlight and pallet saves are not obvious and not everyone can do then nor does the opportunity present it self very much if at all to do it in the first place. I hope the devs realize this and adjust the token gain to be more like barbeq rewarding the player for doing the objective and not going out of your way to maybe get a token

But against solo or against not high Rank survivor it is too strong.
Pls fix that, thx :o
Bro just use detectives hunch, almost every killer ive gone against dcs if they see you running this perk, i love it when they run this build bcs its so fragile and easy dismantle, alternatively you can run a red map. What i like to do when i don't want to use detectives hunch i just equip a green map in the lobby and when the killer sees it he will think its a red map and will be deterred from using this build, when the match is about to start just un equip the map or equip your desired item

How you make a perk that just applies a generic stun effect have different lengths on different killers? Don't ask me. Spaghetti time!
@ZCerebrate said:
It's currently a bug and only happens about half the time and more often on specific killers. Tooltip still says 5 seconds and will give you that full 5second stun more than half the time from my personal experience as a survivor and as a killer (when I choose to eat one). Will probably get fixed eventually because whatever randomly makes it a 2s pallet stun duration is obviously not intended - unless they are shadow testing it on us to gauge reactions.

Sprint Burst is broken as ######### in it's current state. I don't have visual evidence because I don't record my games nor-do I have a recording system but I'm more than certain a number of people have been going through the same bullshit I have gone through. I won't call exploit usage (although it could have a possibility in this case) or cheating because I've been versing countless people in my killer gameplay and I've even see the perk used in my survivor gameplay. I know how sprint burst works, you run and it activates so there's not a lot to discuss there; except the fact that I've seen 10 or more people all single individuals from different games using that perk, running from a hooked survivor (again RUNNING), and when I get to them and they're walking all of a sudden they start using sprint burst as if the perk was NEVER active. The perk might have been accidently "buffed" to an annoying level in the patches as of recently where that crap will happen, and again I'm saying it was an accident so this wouldn't have been intentional. I'd just like to know why the hell the survivors can run away after saving a hooked survivor, just run in general without using the perk, and when the killer shows up all of a sudden that damn thing ends up working. I don't understand this for the slightest and why it's broken is an answer I won't know. But I sure as hell and getting tired of seeing sprint burst used so terribly.
Dev's, please look at sprint burst and see if there might be a problem because this occurrence hasn't been a one time thing in a match against cheaters or exploiters as far as I know. But please can the perk be looked at to know if it might have a chance of being broken.
If anyone else has experienced this awful amount of bullshit, please comment to back me up on this.
Sprint burst is fine mate, what they need to fix is dead hard and getting hit while exhausted

I am sooo confused right now.
Do you find playing DBD to be a grind?
Why do you put so much emphasis on the rift? Do you find it difficult to put it as an extra incentive to play/reward for playing?
Do you think the Rift is the main reason to play?
I honestly don't understand these complaints about it being grindy. If you completed it what would you be doing? Would you still be playing? If so, how is it a grind to complete it if you are going to be playing regardless?
A lot of people on this thread don't understand that I am not expecting to complete the rift nor what it offers to me.
I'm complaining about the time needed to complete it (read my previous post to see accurate numbers) how it affects the game what it means and how healthy is overall for the game.
The 3.3 update overall is great and I love it. The archives are phenomenal and a great addition to the game. The changes to items and bug fixes is something I appreciate as well.
Buying something and not being able to get a full product just because the devs made it that way is incredibly demoralizing and it feels not right.
-
@deadbodyman62 said:
The time to complete the rift is time consuming but they also give you 70 days to do it. I play everyday but for like 2 hours tops, On ps4 and I'm at level 56. With like a month to go. Some of the challenges you need to be smart ( change your perk builds, use appropriate items and offerings). They've already eased up the 3rd tome which I was half way through anyway.
And the idea of this being money grabby and scummy is ridiculous. I have retrieved all my auric cells already. And this was NEVER a mandatory purchase they have and have always had the free pass. The lore part and challenges have always been free to unlock and play. The paid part is purely cosmetics. So the people crying about money are the ones that shouldve thought about their commitment level to playing and their skill level before making the purchase. Dont blame that on behaviour. Its was irresponsible on your end.
If you're crying that it's hard for you as a "casual player" to complete things. Maybe your should have been smart enough to not purchase something that requires a grind
Not being able to complete the rift as a casual player is not a good marketing strategy and the amount of people running with a bought pass says so. It was falsely advertised to lure in people, artificially bloated with needless 25 auric cells rewards and made somewhat hard to complete by doing challenges. I rest my case

10 tiers?
It would be shortened by 27 tiers.
27 tiers.
That's over 1/3rd of the rift.
From this right here that you wrote people can see how deceptive the rift really is. Yea it only costs 1000 cells but we are not factoring the time needed to complete it. If they really wanted to give us the auric cells back they would have put them in for about 10 tiers or so but no clearly the cells were a marketing lure and a artificial boost to the grind

I guess I don't understand your logic, what is the difference between shortening the grind to only 60 tiers without paying back auric cells, or leaving it at 70 but giving you auric cells which can get you those last 10 tiers?
Because removing the tiers which contain auric cells will lessen the grind substantially making it requires less fragments to complete and making it less time consuming and fair. You can clearly see that the auric cells were used as filler to artificialy boost the grind so the average player feels enticed to pay for the tier.
What makes no sense to me is why are tiers costing 100 auric cells when the next reward is 25 auric cells. That right there is the problem.

So first you say you don't want them to give auric cells back, and now you say you do want them for the next rift.... which one is it?
The first is that they advertised it that way, they said how you will be able to get your cells back after you complete the rift which is true but what's the point if an average player can't even reach the top.
Second is my opinion, I would rather they don't give me any cells back if it means I get to complete the rift in a reasonable amount of time

"It's free, so why complain about it?"
Because it's not free. I bought the game.
A free to play monetization model has no place in a game where you pay for it, along with multiple expansion DLCs and a cosmetic shop to boot.
Exactly my point. During my time away from the game I've stumbled on some battlepasses in some f2p games and they were quite fair.
They were not falsely advertised nor anything. It was just a little something on the side every two or three games. I haven't felt pressured to grind like a mindless zombie every day just to reach the top.
That's how a battlepass is supposed to be, rewarding a player for couple of games he plays every day(in this day and age playing only one game every day when there is a plethora of other equally good exiting games out there is also not considered but it should) and not the hard-core, streamer, nolifer type of guy who can play all non stop.
-
@kcwolf1975 said:
Can't you use the cells they give you back and buy tiers? Doesn't that lessen the grind?
What's the point of having to spend the auric cells on it when it was advertised how you will be able to get them back so you can buy the next rift

@Bingbongbong said:
It's a battlepass with the promise of returning your initial payment if you complete it, They're never going to make it easy to complete whether that's trough a big grind, difficult tasks or both.
That's how these kinds of passes make money by not being able to be completed by the majority so that they then have to buy the next pass again.
I would rather they not give any auric cells back in the pass but lessen the grind so I can have enough time to get the cosmetics.

Except you don't have to play for 4 hours a day. You don't even have to play 7 games a day, because you don't need to grind out one tier every day to finish the Rift. You can complete half of Level 1 in 4 hours and that alone will give you three or four Rift tiers easily. All you need to do is complete all the challenges, and maybe play a few extra games beyond that to grind out the last few tiers. There are many people in this thread alone who also have busy lives with a lot of commitments, and are doing fine, because they have been playing steadily since the start.
My brother started playing two weeks ago - he only has an hour or two to play after work, and he's already at tier 30, just because he's been playing consistently and doing challenges. As many others have pointed out, you can't take a month-long break from these things and expect to still be able to complete the entire track by playing a few hours here and there. The grind is not as bad as you're making it out to be, but as I said before, not everyone is going to be able to complete it and that's okay. "Casual players" doesn't mean "all players".
All the challenges in the tomes in all four levels give 350 fragments, the rift needs 690(the first tier is automatically unlocked)
So to unlock the rest of the rift you need to farm 340 fragments by exp.
1 fragment = 800 exp
10 fragments = 1 tier
8000 exp = 1 tier
You get around 600 exp ( hard capped ) per match with the emblems. So to unlock one tier you need to play about 13 games.
Since you will unlock 35 tiers by completing the challenges ( in all four levels) you need 34 tiers to unlock by exp.
34x13 = 442 games on average
The math says otherwise.
13 games for a single tier bruh give me a break

If you were playing one hour a day and doing the tomes this whole time you'd be quite a bit along now compared to taking a month off hoping they'd change the system.
And if they did you'd be complaining you'd have to play x hours a day to complete it, because obviously playing an hour a day was to much for you.
This is a system that is in place to reward loyal players who play regularly.
You spent your own money on this. They didn't force you to and they didn't trick you. You decided you didn't want to attempt it and now you are back complaining it's going to be even harder for you to complete it. I'm not really sure what you were expecting but with how long the rift is around for you should have expected it wouldn't be a "blast it out in a week" affair.
Read my previous post about the rift and you will realize how grindy the rift really is.
Rewarding loyal players is not the same as rewarding hardcore grinders that sleep on this game .
It's not playing one hour a day . It's playing 4-5hours depending on the que times
Are you even trying to read the the original posts or are you just opposing me without reason

I mean, I totally agree. That's why I'm as far along the Rift as I am, because I just play normally when I'm not doing challenges and enjoy the game just as much. I phrased it that way not because it was how I personally felt, but because it's how the OP and presumably a few other people feel about the Rift. I felt that explaining why it may feel so grindy might be more helpful than just flat-out telling him he's wrong.
The math still stands, having to play for 4 hours a day is what the majority realty can't do including me. It was said that the rift would be catered toward the casual audience and not the hardcore grinders that play this game non-stop and then say that the rift is fine
A lot of my games are filed with people without the pass and many have said to me that the rift is too grindy for them

It's not a "trap" for casual players. It's pretty obvious and simple for most people that if they don't play the game very much they won't earn the rewards from a battle pass. They aren't tricking anyone.
Maybe it's obvious now that the rift is one month in but back when I bought it it was advertised as casual friendly, how it take one hour a day and that everyone could complete it .

The whole point of the pass for me is grinding for exclusive items. Most of the cosmetics items aren't that amazing. The value in them is never being able to get them again. If they take away that aspect they might as well get rid of the pass because people won't buy it. Especially if the only exclusive is the charms, which so far are extremely underwhelming and pretty irrelevant cosmetics.
I would be much happier and less frustrated if they just scraped the rift and put everything in the store.
As it stands right not it's just a trap for the casual and late to the pass people who think they can finish the pass but inevitably don't only to realize that it's made this way for them to buy the tier if they want to complete it

Yea. Its crazy. Though a lot of them seem to be the kind of people who have a "fear of missing out" and make that the most important than the fact.
I think, for some people, they just haven't realized nothing is different except for the fact they get more out of playing now.
The thing is that you not getting stuff for free, having the reward be gated a huge grind means that the devs don't respect your time or your money, and it also incentivises people to spend even more on the tiers since they already made the commitment and that feel and that is a terrible and scummy way to milk your playerbase.
If the rift was free I wouldn't give a damn about it
-
@Elegant said:

And that's fine if you don't have enough time to play. But, it 's crazy to think that you deserve to be able to complete the rift when you don't have a lot of time to play the game. The entire point of battle passes, like previously mentioned, is to give people more reason to play the game on a regular/consistent basis. That's what the entire model is. You aren't playing the game consistently, so therefor you likely won't complete the rift. That's how it works in this game and every other game. That's not going to change.
Like I said it's either commit and grind every day or don't buy the pass. Not buying the pass means not getting all the cosmetics and accessories which I would be fine if after the pass they would put them in the store for auric cells

For me it looses the feel of just playing the game as I normally do knowing that I have to play at least 7 games if I'm to be able get the next tier for that day

@Elegant said:
Battle passes are not designed for everyone to be able to finish. It's supposed to be grindy. That's the point of it. The stuff at the end is a reward for consistently and constantly playing the game. It would defeat the point of the rift if everything was easy and there wasn't a grind. The first two tomes could all be completed in a handful of games. These take a few extra games but aren't that awful. The only part that angered me was the iridescent emblem bug that made it really bad. If you don't play the game enough to complete these challenges, you don't really deserve the rewards at the end anyway. If you REALLY want a certain reward, you can always buy enough rift levels to make up the difference.
The point of battlepasses be a side reward for playing every day, it's supposed to be something more for your average playtime and not having to play and grind like a mindless robot for 4 hours every day just to reach the end.
There is no satisfaction in grinding the tiers it's either commit and grind every day or don't buy it.

2 minutes, 3 minutes 35 seconds, 3 minutes 20 seconds, 2 minutes 29 seconds, 7 minutes 28 seconds (dodged cause there was a rank 17 and rank 18 both in the lobby), 3 minutes 41 seconds, 3 minutes 39 seconds, 3 minutes 38 seconds, 4 minutes 2 seconds, 3 minutes 56 seconds, 3 minutes 28 seconds, 3 minutes 44 seconds, 3 minutes 34 seconds, 14 minutes 45 seconds (first lobby was a bugged 3 man lobby so I dodged, 2nd lobby someone failed to load into the match).
The length of each match are as follows:
13 minutes 11 seconds, 10 minutes 55 seconds, 21 minutes 57 seconds, 17 minutes 16 seconds, 12 minutes 28 seconds, 11 minutes 27 seconds, 9 minutes 53 seconds, 8 minutes 5 seconds, 13 minutes 19 seconds, 8 minutes 37 seconds, 13 minutes 4 seconds, 14 minutes 33 seconds, 8 minutes 32 seconds, 14 minutes 5 seconds.
Now as we all know the tomes only provide us with half of the rift shards needed to complete the rift pass, so if takes around 350 rift shards that you have to earn through just playing the game it would take you on average 140 hours to complete the rift pass or roughly 490 matches. This whole "1 hour a day" thing saying is bogus since you'd have to be playing at least 28 hours a week to complete the rift pass. I would love to see other members of the community share their results using this or similar format.
I got similar results averaging in about 3,5h for one tier at rank 10 (survivor). Needless to say it's absurdly long.
Something needs to change and I don't think that it will bcs the devs are aware of this and possibly made it like this to force us into buying the tiers(100 auric cells per tier).

I don’t see how that affect what I said. And also I think it’s not true? From my understanding the rift levels with those blue shards and you get them with exp, so it’s possible to complete the rift by simply playing the game without doing any challenges... am I wrong? I did the chapter 1 Tome, then kept leveling the rift up just playing the game.
I will not argue with you I did the math and it told me how much I need to play every day. If you think I made a mistake in my calculations feel free to do it your self and report back.

I love the game and don't hate the devs but their nerfs, monetizing decisions and sometimes shady practices piss me off so much.
