  • You hand out participation trophies and you get people who whine when they find out they actually suck :P

I mean, there really isn't any reason to go crazy. Same as there wasn't any reason to go crazy about the Ruin changes. But people on these forums just like to do that.

Still, some people just had some valid complaints regarding the increase in deadzones, which I think is more than fine.

I don't know about going crazy but I do believe the ruin nerf was foolish. They could have at least adjusted gen speeds and tool boxes WHILE they gutted ruin instead of after.

  • If we need a survivor from the future we could add Joosh from Hulu's Future Man :P

  • TLDR

I wouldn't mind a notification AFTER the match is over to let me know that was a swf. If we had a swf marker at the lobby screen then killers WILL dodge lobbies and que times will get worse.

  • @Pirscher said:

Yes, a SWF reveal on the end-game scoreboard should definitely be added.

As for the rest, I dont know. The devs are thinking about it too though of course

It would be nice. Can't be before the match cause then killers would dodge.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

My guess is it'll be coming in the near future, because honestly every multi-platform game like this should have cross-progression in 2020. There's just more important issues the devs need to look at first. One step at a time, ya know?

It would be nice. I started DBD on PC but other games I played on console. I would buy them again if I didn't have to start over from the beginning. MHW: Iceborne being one of them. I bought Ark and overwatch twice because friends on another platform wanted to play.

Same here. Swear to God if I'm within a mile of someone that isn't even looking at me I get popped out. Could be a server thing as some people are saying. Some people have different skill levels as well so idk, lol.

It does feel random sometimes. I've had people reveal me through trees. Maybe they revealed me before I got behind the tree due to lag? I don't really expose people as GF unless they don't know I'm there. I tend to use his power to get a hit in before the chase begins.

While in theory what you are saying is correct - the reality is I can't control the actions of the other two players. I run kindred religiously solely to counter face campers and I can't tell you how many times my fellow survivors just run like lambs to the slaughter instead of working on gens to counter the camper. Even after 2 or 3 hooks and clear behaviour to anyone who does not run kindred that the killer is camping, some players just won't give it up. More than I understand, to be honest.

The time it takes someone to die on their first hook is pretty long. I'm pretty sure the killer standing there gives you even more time on the hook. You can finish 3-4 gens easy. Even if the other 3 don't finish all the remaining gens, that is still very punishing for the killer. 1k for 3 gens is not a fair trade. The survivors have all the tools needed to win. They don't always know how to use them. This is the problem with the game. Instead of learning what to do people beg for nerfs or more perks. This makes the experienced survivors OP.

    MPUK:

As for tunneling and camping. That doesn't drive people away nearly as much as imbalance. Look at the survivor que times and the killer que times? Tell me which one is in short supply? Killers bring moris to end a match quickly. Well what about survivors who bring tool boxes? People say tunneling/face camping is just to spread toxicity but what about all the survivors with flashlights who get in the killers face because they have BT+DS+Adren, then they teabag at every single pallet? As for a higher rank than 1. If a killer got to r1 by face camping that tells me this game is full of crappy survivors. You can thank the devs for constantly lowering the bar and letting these rookies prosper. Old Ruin kept those newbies out of red ranks. See what happens when you give out participation trophies.

Last, if you really played both sides this thread wouldn't trigger a response from you. You would already know face camping only works on inexperienced survivors.

So you accept that in case of potato teammates you do all the work... Get hooked for that while they who didn't do ######### escape

That is the price you pay for playing with randoms. Make friends. I don't play survivor solo anymore because of these idiots we got in here. Those survivors who did nothing but escaped also won;t get much either. My advice, if face camping is happening to you often. Keep playing, rank up, or don;t be the first one caught.

"I don't need to outrun the bear. I just need to outrun you" >.>

  • If you did most of the work then you should get blood points and a pip. That's a win for you. People constantly tell killers "You don't need to 4k to win" well you don't need to escape to win either.

Seriously, killers who face camp are terrible at killing. I can't put it in any other way. They won't get far playing like that. It only works on newbie survivors.

Regardless the devs have stated there is nothing wrong with face camping. Even though it is a very poor way to play as killer. So suck it up and adapt.

  • You just got into the game and your already telling people what needs to be removed? Please keep your opinion to yourself for a few hundred game hours.

Everyone always spouts this but it is bollocks. Yes, those gens get done and x number of people escape but the person(maybe even multiple people) who got camped had their game ruined. A game they potentially queued for 10mins+ for.

It is ######### behaviour by ######### players intent on ruining the game for someone. Saying everyone else should do gens and leave doesn't fix the fact that the person on the hook has had their game ruined and their time wasted.

I would like a perk where if the survivor is being camped for a number of seconds they get teleported to a different hook across the map, 10 seconds before they teleport the other survivors see the aura of the destination hook so they can be there ready to unhook them. Named something like "Now You See Me"

They already lose points for being near the hook for so long. You have BT, DS, Deliverance, Adren, Kindred to help you with all of this. Killers that face camp only prosper if the survivors fall for it. That killer won't jack ######### for playing that way. Keep playing, rank up and you won't run into them after a certain point.

Or don't be the first one found.

If you don't like 10 mins que times your free to join the dark side >.>

  • People don't seem to have any trouble kicking me out of stealth when I play GF.

  • Honestly I would not play this game on anything besides PC. Their track record shows the game hardly works on any other platform.

  • How to be a fun killer? Ignore the survivors and play how you want. That's my 2 cents :P

  • Uhhhhh how about the other 3 survivors finish the gens and get out? That killer doesn't get any bloodpoints or ranks up.

Face camping is not a problem. Only the inexperienced killers do it and the newbie survivors fall for it. Have you seen a popular streamer face camp someone unless they pissed them off?

So is giving someone a bear trap or taking out the unhooker. There are many ways to apply pressure that don't mean screwing over other players.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1216444#Comment_1216444

And while I do agree with assuming perks and all that, I disagree with your final statement about "my fun be damned", as it's not about me having fun. I've had fun games where I've died and bad ones where I've lived.

It's about being able to at least have a chance of playing a game I payed good money for, and being denied that.

If survivors can't play because of killers, then killers can't find games and stop playing. A vicious cycle that will occur eventually if tunnelling and facecamping are allowed to continue unprovoked and unpunishable.

I don't think there has ever been a shortage of survivors on this game. So I won't expect that to happen anytime soon. The way the game is going right now, the exact opposite is liable to happen.

Also. Your not the only one who paid money for this game. Seeing as you didn't pay for my copy my previous statement stands. Your fun be damned. Vice versa. I didn't pay for your copy so play however you want. The very idea that you should have fun because you paid money for a game everyone else paid for is ludicrous. If I'm losing a match badly I don't expect anyone to go easy on me. I extend you the same courtesy.

I know @samination references the survivors rule book for killers in his dbd parody 7.

i kinda wish he would make it a series, different survivors explaning the rules and so on an so on with the killers participating in the demonstrations of the do's and don't of the rule book...

My favorite part is when trapper says "Wait, the trapper isn;t allowed to use his traps? Let me check. Yup. Survivor rule number 138......I uninstall now"

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Better idea: JUST HIT THE PERSON WHO UNHOOKED. It's not that hard a concept to grasp.

This is actually what I do. Not because I don't believe it's against the "rules" to hit someone who was pulled off the hook. I go after the rescuer because I assume they have BT and the unhooked has DS. In that instance it's a better use of my time to down the person who made the save.

An even better idea is don't unhook right in front of the killer.

At the end of the day. If I'm playing killer then I am going to do what is best FOR ME. Your fun be damned. Were are both doing our objective the best we can. Mine just happens to be opposite of yours.

  • Did you create an account just so you could post a rant about tunneling? The only thing destroying this game is it's own devs and community :P

  • @ZaKzan said:

if the game isn't dying but isn't growing, that means that it is losing players at a rate similar to the players it's gaining, which means that player retention is low, and player acquisition is high. This is not a good state for any game to be in, and is one of the portents of a dying game, as player acquisition doesn't last forever.

I can't imagine any new killers sticking around when their very first game is against red ranks. The game isn't dying but it's not in good shape either. Also the game hardly works on anything outside of PC. This is very bad.

A huntress can't sneak up on me either. Literally had a P3 DS silently pop around a corner and smack me the other day, then quick scope me in a second and down me. 😂 This wasted very little time, and he was effective at doing this to our entire team. Idk if its a radius perk that enabled him to get so close before anyone could hear him, but it was pretty OP. He was inescapable once he found you. Maybe its a learning curve.

Thats one of the reasons i run m&a on my ds lol. But that depends on the map. Even if your gf, its hard to sneak up on someone on big open maps. Survivors who know to constantly move their camera wont be fooled. If they run sb, DS wont get a melee hit before having to fire their gun.

  • Won't this change just make more people play billy?

Old MoM was broken from the start and it's a prime example of the devs incompetence but I also think it was nerfed too hard. What I think would have been better. Limit the amount of 2nd chance perks the survivors can have. Like when they introduced exhaustion so you couldn't stack SB and Lithe. If you throw DS, Adren, and old MoM all into 1 perk slot and you can only equip 1 of those(I'm not including BT because that's more for your team's benefit than yourself). I think that would have been fine. Old MoM was annoying but it was truly broken when people were combining it with DS, BT and Adren. If it couldn't be mixed with those it may not have needed to be nerfed. Another example of why you don't tailor a game around the new players. MoM by itself may have been tolerable but when the veterans mixed it with all their other meta perks, the game broke.

I seriously think the people who develop new perks have no knowledge of what is already in the game. Is there really no one in the meeting raising their hand saying "Won't that be unfair if they run that new perk with DS?"

  • @LALYTHIA said:

I don't play the killers you listed as having received nerfs to really feel the weight of the changes they received, but I can say that almost every single new killer gets adjusted in some way after release. This is not uncommon, and not a hit to the Killer community, it's meant to provide balance, like every other change in the game. Nurse really needed some changes and from the survivor perspective, she has remained the same in terms of facing her...a bad nurse is easy to escape, but a good nurse is absolutely lethal. I got steam rolled in a random team by a great nurse just the other day. It depends on who is playing her.

Spirit and Oni are also still incredibly powerful. Most matches I have with those two killers in-particular, in random matches, result in a 3-4k, which is not DBDs definition of balance. Although, I'm sure they are competitively matched in other group comps besides random solos. Like Nurse, I also can't agree that DS is weak, especially not a weaker version of Huntress from the survivor perspective. I can dodge a hatchet with ease. I cannot dodge a DS quick scope. If you are aiming down sights, prepare to get juked - but if you can quick scope survivors, there is almost no recourse. Again, a skilled player behind a Deathslinger is a very powerful Killer...one that has an instant shot and doesn't have to divert from a chase to reload, while boasting a tiny omnidirectional terror radius.

I never cared about ruin. Hitting a skill check is not that hard and when you miss it, it allowed for more gen time which was more gen points. So I never even bothered looking for Ruin because it's not difficult to play through. You could have kept your ruin, IMO. But new ruin is still very useful - I've had several matches now with killers running ruin where the totem was significantly well hidden...ruin in end game is super hard to overcome. In addition to the fact that Killers have POP, Thana, Overcharge, etc. to also help slow down gen progression.

If you would like to know why changes seem to sting survivors particularly hard, it is because the game has been continually tuned to help Killers have a more competitive edge against SWF teams, to the detriment of solo survivors. Every change that is meant to slow down or lessen the gap between a good SWF team and a Killer means those slow downs apply individually to solo survivors who don't have the same benefits of a coordinated team as SWF do. So what's a balance change to SWF feels like a nerf to solos. Here are some of the changes solo survivors have felt in the last year:

    Windows closed

    Less palettes

    Less window/palette combinations

Increase in the number of unsafe palettes (+Killer hit priority, this is deadly)

New maps have been quite a bit smaller

    More hooks

    Hooks closer together

    Totems remapped and better hid

    EGC (is killer sided)

    Hatch changes (are killer sided)

    Hooks regen significantly faster

    Inability to 99 hooks

    Nerf to Insta-Syringe

    Nerf to Styptic Agent

Nerf to toolboxes (you can argue they are faster, but the significant reduction in repair amount makes them next to useless when your entire toolbox can be nullified with 1 POP kick)

    Nerf to self-care heal time

    Nerf to DS selective use

    Nerf to leader

Changes to door RNG that place doors closer together, despite EGC

...this is just a few, and doesn't include any of the changes to Killers that were additional and positive, like movement speed increases and the reduction of 'negative side effects' in perks.

Every time a core perk is changed to balance its use in a SWF team...or a loop is closed to stop elongated chases...solo survivors lose their competitive edge. They don't have the same benefits as SWF teams, yet they are expected to play as a team at that level because the game is being balanced to make the SWF/Killer dynamic more even.

Making maps smaller, increasing dead space, reducing palettes further, slowing gen speeds, and taking out every major loop on every legacy map is going to be very interesting for the solo survivor community. I am in the camp that thinks it will probably ruin the solo survivor experience because the solo survivor experience is already difficult, sweaty, and only marginally fun.

I don't begrudge Killers their balance. I understand that SWF is very frustrating - I experience it when I play Killer. I think the game should be balanced and everyone should be able to have fun, competitive game play. But to ignore the solo survivor community - the largest segment of the DBD player base - I think is a misstep. At least an unfortunate step for players like me. I hope they find a way to balance out the two segments within the survivor community too.

    +1

However Deathslinger is a weaker huntress. Even if it is easier for him to hit a survivor he has to hit, reel you in, swing to cause dmg. Then he has to do that all over again. By the time it takes him to hit+reel in someone, huntress can just throw 2 hatchets and they are down. With the speed of generators in this game, a killers strength is how fast they can down someone. Like The TTK(time to kill) of every CoD gun. The one that does it the fastest tends to be the meta.

    They still suck tho

Mettle needed nerfing, but what they did to it is.....hideous

I will be the first to say MoM needed to be nerfed badly. The idea they released that perk at all shows their incompetence. However I try to see both sides of the spectrum and the perk is damn near useless now. It seems with the devs it's zero or 100. Nothing in between. It's either too much or not enough.

  • Vigil is a wasted perk. It's one of those "equip it if you got nothing better"

Pharmacy on the other hand is nice. I usually run it to farm green medkits so I don't have to bring SC or Inner Strength. Lets me bring one more perk. I also enjoy the game if I don't always have a way to heal myself. It's suppose to be a horror game but we all know it isn't :P

  • I used to hate SC back in the day. An infinite heal in a horror game felt broken. Now that it takes so much time to self care, I don't mind it anymore. More time healing means less time repairing. The majority of survivors running it will get flamed by their own kind. It's kinda funny to watch.

was playing against red ranks, 1's and 2's, sometimes a full red fleet.

i'm now rank 8 killer and for the past 2-3 weeks ive been only playing against rank 1's and 2's and im beggining to lose interest in the game.

i want to get better, i want to learn my killers, but when im constantly getting flamed, bm'd and stomped by 4 bunny feng mins with flashlights, i dont ever want to play again.

i love this game, and i'd love to keep giving behaviour my money, but its just not fun to never win unless im playing spirit. spirit makes the game feel miserable as survivor going against her, i dont like doing that to people- but i need blood points, and getting 20k for a good survivor match compared to 30k for a bad killer match + bbq + pudding, it's a simple choice.

I'm also a red rank survivor, and revcently i've played against people ranging in ranks from the rare 1 all the way up to 18. i wish, for the sake of the 1 perk trapper i vs'd twice in 1 night, that i was joking.

this just isnt fair. how can you make a fun premise and enjoyable gameplay feel like complete trash because of matchmaking and let it be like this for so long

the only game i've played against people below purple ranks, was the one game i was AFK to derank for the purpose of playing against people below purple rank to learn. cosmic joke.

also, remove pink + purple keys, noed and ebony mori (or atleast make everyone in the game atleast safety pip if killer burns an ebon. make ivory after 2 hooks)

This is why the game is in rough shape. Despite the buffs killer has been receiving it's still not enough The survivors are still the power role. Unless the survivors make a mistake the killer rarely prospers. The devs are this games worst enemy. They keep making it easier for newer survivors. This ends up making the good survivors powerful. Veteran killers see how broken the game is and they leave. New killers come in and they get paired against red survivors because they have been waiting for 10 mins for a match. The MM throws a r20 killer their way so they have a game. The new killer gets bullied and the survivors wonder why they're aren't anyone playing killer. I seriously think there are no new killer players coming in with this MM.

Rank means nothing for survivor. After the ruin nerf, survivors have it easy. Plus a SWF can carry you.

The devs release a PTB but do nothing with our feedback. DS gets a rework after 2 years yet it is still the most powerful perk in the game. Nurse's add ons get reworked, which most agreed needed to happen, but then they nerfed her base kit. Which did not need to happen. They gutted ruin without addressing why the perk was put in the game in the first place. They nerfed toolboxes but they made it easier to sabo hooks. They fix some god loops but made some loops even stronger. Every patch it feels like 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

I think the problem is there's no real competition. Evolve died thanks to greed, last year was meh, FT13 was dead in the water because of the law suit, RE resistance doesn't look like it will last and the Predator game coming out looks to be in the same boat. The devs can afford to release patches that make the game worse because there isn't many games like it. It's like that south park episode about the cable company

"If you don't like our services you can go to someone else. OHHHHH that's right. There is no one else"

  • @Hippie said:

I know that for me (PC, U.S., red rank survivor and purple rank killer), survivor queue times fluctuate throughout the day. If I get a game during the day, it only takes about thirty seconds (not more than a minute at most), but survivor queue times in the evening range anywhere from a minute and a half to three minutes or more, and I rarely get matched against red rank killers. However, no matter what time of the day I play killer, I usually get into a game in twenty seconds or less (half the time it only takes about ten!), and I rarely get matched against green or purple ranks, mostly red. I think this is due to the fact that a lot of SWF groups get together and play in the evening, and since red rank for survivor is pretty easy to obtain, there are a lot of SWF groups in red rank, and not enough red rank killers to go around, so the matchmaking pulls killers from purple, then green, and so on. Sadly, if they didn't do that, then it would take ages for higher ranked survivors to get a queue in the evening....

They should make it so that you go back further on rank reset.... I only went back from 1 to 5 and that's only one rank away from red rank AGAIN. It's just way too easy to get red rank on survivor. If you're a Global Elite on CS:GO, then you probably deserve to be there, and the same goes for other competitive games. I'd love for red rank to be something to aspire to, rather than something you get in an evening by completing a gen, getting a couple unhooks and jumping out through the hatch. At least you have to try harder to get red rank on killer, although you will have killers who got there by playing scummy (camping and tunnelling, possibly moris). About half of the red rank killers I go up against play like a red rank should, and it's actually pretty terrifying!

As for the "Rank reset should send you back further". It used too. If you were r1 the reset sent you back to rank 10. A rank 10 might get knocked back to 14. The closer you were to rank 1 the further you got knocked back after the reset. The devs changed that in a vain attempt to keep the highly skilled survivors in the red ranks so they don't harass newer players. Then they completely undid their work when they nerfed ruin. Thus making it easy to rank up. Now we have "red" survivors that don't even know how to reveal ghost face out of stealth or they can't even loop a killer. Rank means nothing in this game. Even before the rework it just reflected time played during that month.

  • I don't think Head On is OP if you know how it works. The basement lockers are just outside of range to prevent you from hooking someone down there. Once you get whacked a few times you tend to learn about it. Example when you see a downed survivor near a locker you check the locker first. Like how you face a wall when picking up a survivor because someone has a flashlight.

  • This game is survivor sided and anyone who doesn't see that is new or blind. No matter the amount of buffs killers receive it pales in comparison to the power the survivor hold. If the survivors want to rush the gens they will be rushed no matter what the killer does because you can't be in 4 places at once. The devs keep making it worse and that is why killers are "playing something else".

  • I think the most important rule for survivor is learn to cut your losses. If the gates are open, the killer has 1 person on the hook and they aren't going anywhere. In that instance sometimes it's better to let them have that 1k then letting them get 2-4k for trying to save them.,

I kinda feel bad doing this to bad Killers.. matchmaking when are you getting fixed? :C

It was btw a rank 12 Billy with 2 level 1 perks and 1 brown addon, he had less then 300 hours playtime.

MM will be fixed when they hide the ranks. If you don't SEE the problem then it doesn't exist :P

But yeah, I don't think any new killer players are being brought in. If this was your first match as killer wouldn't you refund the game?

  • As much as I hate SWF, if we had a toggle option then every killer would turn it on.

I'm sure this will start a holy war but I think MM really broken when ruin was nerfed. Mainly because ruin kept newbie survivors in the rank they belonged. Now we got red ranks that can't hit great skill checks or even loop the killer. So many people are in the higher ranks that MM throws the first killer available at them regardless of the killer's rank. I feel the way the MM is right now, there is like NO new killers coming in. They get paired against R'1 at rank 20. Why the hell would they want to stick around after that?

  • @aregularplayer said:

they are working on an MMR system that will be rank independent and you will not be able to see other players' rank. it is supposed to fix the matchmaking but we will NEVER know if it is working as intended since we will not know the rank of the players lol

They're not fixing anything. They're just going to hide rank so we won't see how bad were getting matched.

OP. I agree MM sucks ass but if they showed survivors ranks before the matched started then killers would lobby dodge.

  • I would get David to 40 and unlock were gonna live forever. It really cuts down on the grind for blood points. Also he has Dead Hard. After that Id work towards Borrowed Time from Bill to pair with WGLF, decisive strike from Laurie, Sprint Burst and Adrenaline from Meg, if you don't have Nancy for Inner Strength then id lvl Claudette for self care. Otherwise lvl Quintin for Pharmacy and farm green medkits.

In all fairness, survivor mains have the worst game balance ideas.

Sometimes it can be hard to tell when they're serious or not.

I have to support this. Killers come up with some BS ideas but I have seen a lot of survivor threads asking for stuff that would literally break the game. Really shows they only play one side.

  • I think most of the good killers left and most of the posts about ridiculous stuff are made by baby killers.

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

Well you said killer's, but killer's do have a perk that highly encourages them to not camp, but to tunnel. It's called Make Your Choice (MYC), but the perk is underrated, and I see a lot of meta potential in the perks as well.

Is it really tunneling when your going after the person who made the rescue instead of the person pulled off the hook? You make it sound like the killer shouldn't go after anybody. If you go after the unhooked your tunneling. If you use MYC and chase the rescuer your tunneling. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT US TO DO? Let both of you go?.............on second thought don't answer that. I'm sure plenty of people in here legitimately believe the killer shouldn't go after anybody.

I find it funny when so many survivors say BBQ is OP. When in fact the devs created the perk to encourage killers to stop camping the hooks.

I love using DH. Now that ruin is crap I run DH more often. Most survivors don't look for totems unless there's a notice. DH doesn't give one until 3 stacks and by then I'm not letting you cleanse it.

  • I find bedham to be the only map I can't stand as Nurse. I don't rage quit when I get a bad map but preschool makes me want too. Whenever I find someone they all run to the damn school because there's 2 floors and so many line of sight blockers.

Who would you recommend for killer bp farming at higher levels? I started trying to get better at nurse, and my huntress is at 50 and I’m decent with her. Most of my other killers are either not leveled at all or around 30-40 for teachables.

For farming purposes I would probably suggest Doctor or Legion. For farming! Doctor has a very easy time finding people and building devious from his shocks. Legion is also in the same boat however these 2 killers struggle at high ranks for kills. You can succeed with any killer but when it comes to getting kills some have an easier time than others.

Nurse is still considered top tier because her blinks ignore pallet loops but she is very hard to master and very punishing when you mess up. Personally since her nerf I just don;t have fun playing as her anymore.

Billy is widely considered to be 2nd best because he has map pressure, a one shot down and is not as difficult to learn.

Huntress is up there because she has a ranged attack.

Spirit is also top tier because of her map pressure and mind game potential.

These are killers for killing the survivors. BP your probably best off using Doc or Legion. IMO play whoever you want. I know he's not meta but I main trapper cause I have fun out smarting people with trap placement. 2nd is ghost face because I love jump scares.

Right now the game is feeling very repetitive and boring - it's the same thing every game, repair generators, loop the killer, potentially escape. Down survivors, hook survivors, sacrifice the survivors.

Playing Survivor, especially solo is getting boring because of bad teammates, and I also seem to be going against a Mori/NOED/something really strong like Iri Heads like one in every 4-5 games now.

Playing Killer is getting boring because of going against consistently strong teams, 3-4 man SWFs, and I also seem to be going against toxic survivors more often now.

We need a new gamemode or something to freshen it up. Even new chapters aren't exciting to me anymore because the killer always turns out mediocre at best and we usually get meme perks or perks that have potential but then get nerfed (Gearhead).

Anyone else also feeling this way?

The game certainly needs something. Survivor is boring and killer is frustrating. A new killer/survivor every 4 months breaths momentary life into the game for a week then it dies down again. Id rather they fix the core mechanics of the game before adding anything else.

As for your comment about solo survivor running into noed, mori, ultra rare add on killers. You can thank SWFs for that. If I had to guess that killer got bullied their previous match and put on their try hard pants for the next group unfortunate to come across them.

I think the problem is there's no real competition. There's not many games like DBD and the few that are didn't last long. Friday the 13th died shortly after the law suit. Last Year was okay. The upcoming Predator and RE Resistance look cool but I don't think they will keep people interested after a month. I think the devs are too comfortable to make drastic changes to the core game play because there isn't anyone taking their customers away. The only thing driving their customers away are themselves.

Oh sweet I didn’t know WGLF multiplied like BBQ. Thanks!

Bloody party streamers, escape cakes and survivor pudding stacks. So If you run WGLF and someone brings a BPS. If you get 4 stacks that's +100% and the BPS is another +100%. Making it +200% blood points.

  • As killer run BBQ. As survivor run were gonna live forever.

BBQ gives you a stack when you hook a survivor for the first time. Max of 4 stacks. Each stack gives 25% more bp at the end of a match.

WGLF does the same thing except safe hook rescues. Save 4 people safely, best paired with BT, to get 4 stacks.

Killer or survivor. You run these perks and get 4 stacks your BP at the end screen are doubled. Unlike most items, they only increase how fast you gain BP in a category but the catch is you can only gain 8k BP in each category. BBQ, WGLF, escape cakes, survivor pudding and bloody party streamers multiple your total BP at the end of a match.

But yeah, some killers have an easier time gaining bp over others. Doc and Legion will gain you a lot of blood points and help you pip but they won't help you win the match at high ranks because they aren't meta killers.

  • I find GF to be more fun because of no terror radius. Even if you don't/can't stalk people, hiding your TR gives a big advantage. You can often sneak up on people close enough to get a hit before they run. He isn't slowed for being in stealth and he can mark people pretty quick if he is leaning. You can 99% someone, go after somebody else, run into them again. Go stealth and expose them before they can reveal you.

Myers has more snowball potential and less counters but he no longer has stealth play. He is too slow in EW1. EW2+m&a can make your TR very small but still there. You can't kick Myers out of stalk but there's a set amount you can stalk from each survivor. You pop EW3 and people tend to hide till the theme song goes away.

I find jump scares to be fun so I vote GF.

  • I watched Evolve die, twice :(

Dbd certainly has done better than Evolve but this game isn't doing so well right now.

Some people would prefer to use it skillfully instead tho.

There was no skill with DH before the servers. It was a free miss, like old MoM.

I use DH to give me that extra distance to get to a vault.pallet. However there are times when the killer sneaks up on me, I press the button, I go down yet it still says I'm exhausted. Those moments suck.

I dont think anybody is saying killing god loops is an issue.

What people are saying is that killers have got a lot of what they wanted the past year. Toolboxes nerfed, god loops fixed, maps shrunk, instaheals nerfed.

Thats all great. It makes killer more enjoyable.

However now maybe something has to be done for survivor. Camp/tunnel:noed strategy needs to go. Its used in the vast majority of games and ruins the experience for many people. Likewise some killer add ons could be nerfed just like instaheals were (looking at you iri head + infantry belt)

I think killers got a lot this year because they were in desperate need of it. It is no fun to play killer anymore. Look at the MM. There's a shortage in homicidal maniacs on this game. Not including some of the crazy survivor mains :P

  • When a survivor is spotted and they all run to the exact same place, no matter the distance, because the loop is so powerful. Something is wrong.

  • Keep this thread a secret. The try hards will shiv you if they hear you ask about stealth over gen rushing :P
