“NOED doesn't hold a candle to DS's OPness”
😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂
You make out NOED is this fair anti genrush perk then go on to complain about DS and how its only a second chance perk. The bias is extremely strong.
If you think noed is as op as ds, your full of #########. Noed is fair because you have all the tools needed to counter it before it even happens. You cant say that about ds. I dont run either perk so if both were removed, id say "pretty good job so far" only this time i wouldnt say it sarcastically :p

Trapper is mid-tier at best. Good survivors will be able to tell where he's likely to put traps, and high rank teams almost always have one OoO, which completely neuters him
Yes trapper is mid tier. Some of the great trappers are scary but even sometimes they go an entire match without catching someone in a trap.
As for the OP. I don't play the game anymore. I still browse the forums to see people cry about stuff like NOED and BBQ but I only hop on after a new dlc or chapter update drops. Then after the hype dies down I go back to whatever else I was playing. The devs would really have to overhaul this games balance if they want me to come back.
-
Personally I think Billy sets the standard. He's powerful yet at the same time people who know how to play can loop him. Even if they know how to loop him they are afraid of that chainsaw. That's what I think all killers should be. Fear invoking and not to be taken lightly.
Knowing these devs they probably will nerf Billy but considering the survivor/killer ratio. They are probably not going to do that anytime soon or not without reworking something survivor sided. By rework I mean make it appear like a nerf but is actually a buff. Then it will also be coupled with a shadow nerf to something killer sided.

Please explain how noed isnt a second chance perk? noed removes 1 health state from every survivor and rewards the killer for being bad at the game.
NOED is more to punish survivors who gen rush. It's a risk perk. It also is "100%" counter-able BEFORE it even comes into play. If you cleanse the bones before the last gen is done than NOED will NEVER come into play. Where as DS, you can't do anything to eliminate it. You can say don't tunnel but that's 60 seconds of time wasted. They can run unbreakable or heal themselves to "get help" and someone can touch them to get them back up. It rewards bad game play. Even if you don't run DS, which few don't, you pretty much have to assume someone is running it. You screwed up a chase and got hooked. Your team unhooked you right in front of the killer that's on them. Push a button and you get a 2nd chance.
Most people associate DS with tunneling killers. Well what about killers that don't tunnel off the hook? What about a survivor who got saved from a hook, then runs in the killers face to unhook another survivor? It's not tunneling if your going towards the killer.
Also we have a lot of other perks that remove 1 health state and no one calls those 2nd chance perks. Devour Hope, MYC, Rancor, Iron Maiden, Haunted Grounds.

DS isn't even a 2nd chance perk, Being tunneled means you had ZERO chance in the first place, and this is what DS is for, to help you and to give you 5 sec chance to escape killer.
DS is most certainly a 2nd chance perk. You got downed, you get a free escape. There isn't a killer perk that gives you a 2nd chance. "You failed to apply pressure? Here's a 6th gen the survivors have you finish". The problem with DS is people consider it anti tunneling but it's not. It's 2nd chance. Even if the killer doesn't tunnel they still run into it. I've hooked survivor A and left. Started chasing survivor B. Someone saved survivor A. I hook survivor B. Survivor A saves Survivor B before I get a chance to leave. I assume BT+DS so I go after the rescuer. I down survivor A and they still have DS. I didn't even tunnel them. I hooked them, left, downed+hooked someone else and they still had it. The perk is the definition of 2nd chance. It should be changed to "If you are healed or the killer hooks someone else, DS deactivates"
NOED doesn't hold a candle to DS's OPness. Most top tier killers don't even run NOED unless they are on certain killers. ALL survivors run DS because it is so powerful. If your a survivor who runs DS every single game you have no right to complain about NOED.

NOED is basically the only second chance perk that killers get and it's easily counterable. Delete DS and Adrenaline and I'd be fine with NOED going too
Same. I'll gladly give up noed if it meant ill never have to deal with ds anymore. I dont have a problem with bt cause i remember when it applied to both the hooked and rescuer.
Noed isnt even close to being a 2nd chance perk. Give killer a perk that magically resets a finished gen then you can say killer has a 2nd chance perk.

I mean... Posting the same answer to every topic about it isn't helping either. Breaking totems is fine. But what feels bad about NOED is when you do break totems. Maybe 3-4 in a match. But no one on your team decided to break a totem or it was really well hidden. And then you get hit with NOED and die on a single hook. It feels like crap.
Give survivors a perk that allows them to spawn into the map and see all 5 totems highlighted. And I'll break all the totems. But NOED just feels bad and annoying. Hopefully on the new patch killers will be a little bit stronger. So they can stop running NOED and the game can go back to being normal. But right now seeing it every game is zzzZzzzz.
Its called detectives hunch. Do one gen and you'll pretty much see everything.
-
As for why all the new killers feel watered down. It's because the devs are afraid to make a strong killer but it might be what we need right now. Survivor que times are 10-15 mins. When Deathslinger released it leveled out a bit but after the hype died it went back to normal. That's about the only time I play now. When something new comes out. That's the state of the game right now. New people coming in but just as many leaving. If the devs want me to come back to killer they need to make it fun again and not frustrating. Survivor could use something along the lines of another objective because holding M1 is boring. Last they need to stop catering to brand new survivors and actually balance the game.
-
People will say it's all about region, time you que ect. Those factor in but it comes down to no one wants to play killer. From my understanding the way MM works. It looks for people your rank and if it can't find any, it looks for ranks farther away from yours. If your waiting long enough it will throw the first person available your way. Rank be damned. So you can have a game. The devs really don't play killer outside of newb ranks. In the early stages the killers seem overpowered but that's because the survivors don't know how to play. Once they learn the game flips on it's head. However the devs keep balancing the game around new players and this makes the experienced survivors even stronger. The devs have made it so frustrating that killers either play survivor or play something else.
-
I'm sure some survivor mains are going to say "Nothing's wrong with the MM. There is no killer shortage" Or some bs. This is happening on a daily basis. I don't know how you can spin it to look like there aren't many people playing killer.

I rather have a variety. Ghostface and Doctor are my least favorite, then Billy, Leathercamp and Spirit. So to answer your question, it wouldn't make much of a difference in the dislike category.
Id like all killers to be viable at all ranks but that doesn't happen in asymmetrical games. Also the devs would have to balance the game around end game and not the newbie ranks.
-
If we make it an offering it will be even more reason for people to dc when they can't see an offering the killer brought.

Saying GG I consider polite. Saying GG EZ, to me, feels like your saying "You suck".

I feel the same way about mhw. I got it on xbox. I got some friends who play it on pc but i got like 600 hours into the game. I dont want to start ALL over again.

Bbq or whispers for finding people
Myc for killing the rescuer. When i hook someone i leave to go hunting. If im not in a chase when a save is made i go back to the hook and try to find the person who made the save because of expose.
Pgtw for gen regression.
After that its personal preference. Sloppy butcher, thana, dying light for more slow down. Nc for spotting healing survivors. Franklins for items.

I'm gonna quote one of my favorite streamers on this:
"You can't call keys 'overpowered' or 'underpowered' because there isn't a power tied to them. You just WIN."
That's the issue with keys. It's not that they're not situational enough, or that they do too much, or yadda yadda yadda. The issue with keys is that at their very fundamental core, they are literally just a win button. It doesn't matter if it's a situational win button or a difficult-to-use win button; it is still a win button. There is no exaggeration when I say that a key's primary ability is to give you the option to press M1 to win the game. That is and always will be terrible game design.
I agree. People might claim killer has a win button but they don't. Mori's you have to hook them at least once and it's an ultra rare. If they know how to loop and the other 3 gen rush, the killer might get 1k if they are lucky. NOED is a hex perk(No explanation needed). Keys are just rare items, they can be found in the bloodweb+in a chest and you don't even need to play the game to find the hatch. You can hide until everyone dies if you choose too.

Not a LOT faster, but enough to make me chuckle the first time I played after the new patch, as I was thinking about all the salty killer mains I knew were complaining about gen speeds.
Then I started playing killer main... (╥﹏╥)
I give you credit for playing both sides and discovering the truth. Many claim "nothing is wrong. Just apply pressure and git gud" yet they don't play killer. They say they hit r1 both sides but when you hit r1 is a big difference. If you hit r1 before the emblems id say you played killer well. After emblems it's not hard to rank up. After ruin was destroyed, ranking up as survivor is easy.

I find the grind is tolerable once yuu run bbq or wglf every game. 60% of the perks in game are niche or crap anyway. It would be nice if data was cross platform but that won't happen. Less money for BHVR.

...and killers do? 🤣🤣🤣
Also, as a red rank I am most common paired with green or purple killers who have no problem 3-4king against random red teams. No one is bullying these killers, except maybe a skilled SWF, which is not as common as a group of randos. It's known that there are too many ######### survivors in high ranks and too many skilled killers in lower ranks because of the bunk matchmaking system. So spare me the whole 'remorse' bit.
This happens to me most of my matches and it's why I don't play anymore. I got more but I don't think you need further proof the MM is busted. This doesn't happen every match but id say 50/50. I went up to 12 and the amount of reds/purples increased. Went to like 75/25. Just tells me MM just throws me at the team that's been waiting the longest and the higher up you go the more try hards you find. Yes I have been to R1 on both sides. (I was about to say check my steam profile but then I remembered were not on steam -.-) I don't stick around red rank because I like to play non meta killers and mess around with meme builds. I too like to have fun but as killer, the higher up I go the less fun I have. As survivor I can have fun at any rank.
Now imagine if a brand new killer experienced this? Do you think they would git gud or refund the game?

The devs stated that no survivor perk was even close to the pick rate of what ruin was... besides self care.
I think that's because ruin was so important for many killers. That's why it's pick rate was so high. Against competent survivors, the gens get done too fast early game. Unless your a meta killer.
Also the patches these devs have released in the past, I don't trust their information in the slightest.
IMO, Devour Hope was and is the best hex perk. It has no notification till 3 stacks instead of most hex perks that give a warning the moment you touch a gen. By then it's easy to guard and it pays for itself at that point. 2 more stacks and you get a mori that you had to work for. Which I believe is fair compared to an ebony mori.

The steam charts only show the amount of people playing. They don't show the amount playing killer or survivor.

You seriously going to tell me that the New Freddy is a nerf from the Old Freddy? Like I know you're obviously a hardcore killer main and are biased against Survivors and Devs but holy crap man. And yeah, Killers should be "fun". Freddy is the Strongest Killer in the game right now based on his win/lose and kill rate ratios. And almost every person on the forum can agree that he is one of the most if not the number 1 boring Killer to play in this game. I do want some minor tweaks of improvement to Demo but I enjoy him a lot more than Freddy. And Demo is the watered down version of Freddy.
No i said they tend to nerf killers just after they come out. Like old freddy. Old freddy was crap at release and they still nerfed him cause survivors whined. New freddy is definitely an improvement. I dont trust their charts. They say trapper is high up there and at red rank, he struggles. Nurse is still the strongest killer but i have zero fun using her since her rework.
You might want to read before insulting someone.
-
The devs are afraid to release strong killers. When a killer is just coming out they tend to nerf them shortly after release like old Freddy. If they use the PTB they nerf them just before release, despite everyone's feedback. The devs don't want to make a strong killer they want to make a "fun" killer. I don't find being looped for 3 gens fun.

If I wouldve know these guy's ranks. I wouldve no doubt spared them. This just isnt fair to new players. These aren't even reset potatoes. That guy has 1 perk.
The ranking system in this game is a joke. It reflects time played that month rather than actual skill. Reset used to set you back farther than it does now. A r1 would be sent back to r10. Then they changed it to try to keep the red ranks out of new player matches. Then the ruin nerf came. It made survivors job easier so more survivors ranked up. Killers have been leaving in droves so there's a shortage. Now MM ignores rank and throws the first available killer at the 4 survivors that have been waiting the longest. Rank be damned. The way MM is right now. I can't imagine this game keeping any new players. If I just got this game and that was my first match, id get a refund.
-
One of the reasons I stopped playing dbd. I don't want to bring my OP killer and perks every single game. I want to mess around with GF, trapper, meme builds and stuff. Before I could wait till reset and have some fun. Now no matter my rank there's a high chance of running into reds.
-
On PC there is a lack of killers but no lack of survivors. Often it's the same thing but in reverse. A yellow killer against red ranks. oNly survivors have no remorse when it comes to bullying a killer.

same goes for killers that hack. and the survivors can not know who it is till they are out of the game. I don't know the fix, but it certainly is not "remove the gamer tag" and killer's used to be known because of how STEAM matched them up. personally I am tired of stupid and offensive names by both killer and survivor. I report all such offensive names (and not the stupid ones like "corona virus" but the ones that are truly offensive) to STEAM as behavior can't do much about that unless they changed it so that there was a name attached on their end so it doesn't bring in their steam profile name.
If a survivor hacks, one person reports them.
A killer hacks 4 people report them.
Im not saying killers dont hack but there's probably less hacking killers because of the amount of reports.
-
What if a survivor is hacking? How do we report them? If its a known hacker you should have the right to refuse to play with them.

Whatever you do, you are always a camping tunneling noob piece of #########. Whatever you do.
I quote Samination
"A camper is someone whose still on the map after you're hooked"
-
Camping is a legit strategy and I believe it is misunderstood. As killer most of the time it is better to leave the hook. There are some instances where you would want to stick around. I won't list them all cause it's numerous but for the most part. It is a better use of your time as killer to hook one and harass someone else. I think camping gets a bad rep for a few reasons.
1: Camping is not the same as face camping or patrolling. People often mistake the 3. Face camping is literally staying right in front of the hook making a save impossible. If the gates are open and the killer has no one shot, then I don't blame them for doing this. Face camping on their first hook when there's gens that need to be complete is a bad use of your time. Patrolling is leaving the hook to look for someone else. The killer is just away enough for a save to be possible but not far enough away to not come back to the hook.
2: The killer knows or suspects someone is nearby and they are looking around for that person(patrolling). Who happens to be near the hook.
3: Most obvious reason, it's not fun for the person being camped.
The problem is we have a ton of inexperienced killers who face camp the first person they hook. This is a terrible use of the killer's time. Most survivor's are unaware of how to deal with this or they just complain they didn't get to play. Fair enough but if your team did the right thing, that killer isn't winning either.
Now tunneling. It's kind of 50/50. It's good and it's bad. Picture yourself as the killer. Throw the survivors opinion out the window for this one. If you see an injured person and a healthy one, the best option for you as killer is to go after the injured one. If you chased survivor A for half the map and got them injured. Then survivor B walks in front of you. If the killer left survivor A to go after B, A will heal up by the time B even gets hit. Making the whole process a circle. The killer is getting no where.
As for tunneling off the hook. That is also the best use of the killers time but there are more situations to consider. The sooner one person is dead the better. If that person is on their dead hook, go after them. On the other hand most people run BT and/or DS. If they pull a survivor off the hook right in front of you, if these 2 perks are in play it is better to go after the rescuer. The killer has no idea if these 2 perks are in play so they can't tell until it happens. If your constantly chasing the one injured survivor the other 3 are healthy. One is probably waiting for the save and the other 2 are doing gens. So no pressure is being applied by chasing the one person.
I usually hook someone and leave. If they make a save right in front of me I assume BT and DS so I go after the saver. The injured will spend time healing. It's all about the circumstance. If I tunnel someone off the hook I count to 15 for bt, down them then go after someone else. I suspect DS so if I slug. Even if I don't come back after 60 secs to hook them, someone else is wasting time to heal them. Sometimes when I hook someone and hunt for another, I don't find any. I come back to the hook after the save and all I see is the blood trail. I'm not exactly tunneling you so much as your the only person I found when I came back.
Most threads about tunneling/camping are really bullshit. It's just people complaining when it happens to them. Yet they don't stop and ask themselves "If I was playing killer wouldn't I do the same?" Be honest. If you really were playing killer would you obey half the rules you set when your playing survivor?

Stop using the "Do Bones" excuse to cover up the garbage design of the perk BECAUSE I DID THE EFFING BONES.

The fact people are butthurt about noed being a problem when all you have to do is cleanse totems, but hey lets not talk about perks that actually need a nerf like ds,who have no real counter unlike hexes that even have perks againts them because its toxic.Lets just rework and make a balanced perk useless because i'm a butthurt entitled survivor who is too busy genrushing instead of cleansing a totem.Noed and hexes in general dont stand a chance againts good remotely decent survivors.Slugging, tunneling, camping is toxic but hey lets not blame perks like ds and borrowed time because of that right.Totems are more worthless than you think, the only people complainig about them is the ones that definetly dont know how to deal with them. You can get 1 hex and have it cleansed first second in a match, this is how weak they can be.I will never take survivors that complain about totems seriously and probably devs wont either.
Hell, Inner Strength feels like the devs put it in here as a subtle was of saying "Cleanse the damn totems!"
-
Traps do not trigger if the survivor uses the hatch. Traps will kill someone walking out of the exit gate. Provided it is armed. A trap is armed when a gen is completed. So if all gens are completed than any traps thereafter will not be armed. Best to put on your traps as soon as possible to try to slow down the game. Save one for when there's 1 gen left. You will very rarely get a kill with a rbt but it's main purpose is to slow down the game. If they are busy disarming the trap they aren't fixing gens.
They shadow nerfed pig when they introduced the end game collapse. It was to make it so her end game wasn't too powerful. If they didn't change her traps she could down someone, put a trap on their head and patrol the puzzle boxes until the timer was up. It would have been nice if she got something to compensate.
-
Why do you want it to be a hex? So when you claim it's OP we can say "Shoulda cleansed da bonez"?
It used to work with dead survivors. Now when a survivor dies the perk gets weaker.

At this point, just shelve the game and play something else. The matchmaking was broken just like this in November 2019. By December 2019, I had enough and left. Here we are in April 2020, and I come back over to see how the game is, to discover that matchmaking is exactly how it was in November 2019.
And the most pathetic part is that late November wasn't even the first instance. It came, stuck around, and left again multiple times throughout 2019.
At this point, chalk it up to BHVR being unable to handle their own system, don't put too much faith into their supposedly upcoming Hidden MMR system, and either play the poor matchmaker in DbD or let the game collect dust.
Let's not forget how long it usually takes the devs to fix something. We were praying for dedicated servers for years and when they finally got here, it was a bit of a let down.

I like the idea. Lullaby is her only half decent perk but 5 stacks is a lot of work. Dh lets you one shot at 3 stacks and mori at 5. Lullaby is too much risk for too little reward.

The problem I see with that is what if the killer suspects or knows someone is nearby and they are looking for them? They technically aren't camping because they know someone is nearby. How will the game be able to tell the difference?

I'm not trying to force real world mechanics in to a game. I fully understand that it is a game and objective are required. It is the people who make excuses for tunnelling and camping to "secure their kill" Are the ones who make up stupid "This is what a killer would do in real life" arguments.
You accept objectives are required but then seem to imply camping is fine which it isn't. It is a ######### play. It is something to complain about as it ruins games for the people involved. There is no "punishing" it. The killer doesn't give a #########, they have ruined at least one game and that excites them. Meanwhile, the person on the hook is punished for wanting to play a game and being matched with a bellend.
I have no idea why you are now waffling on about totems. EvilJoshy is the one who tried to make excuses as to why ruin had boosted survivors and I am saying it previously boosted killers. Nothing here requires you banging on about doing totems. I already do totems thanks. I don't need some lunatic who can't read a full post and understand what people are talking about telling me to do them. Irrelevant point.
Ruin didn't boost killers past a certain point. Good survivors didn't even get affected by ruin cause they learned to hit great skill checks. Ruin was needed because what little time it bought was precious to most killers. Ruin got nerfed now no one even needs to counter it. The whole reason ruin was vital is because gens get done too fast. Most of the killers are slow, lack map pressure, some require time to setup and powers that don't help them in a chase. The devs made a half ass attempt to correct this with ruin. Years go by, they forgot why it was in place so they remove it. Now you got what we have now. Red survivors that don't know how to deal with face camping and whine for changes.
Keep arguing with me but I'm done. I should just get myself banned from the forums so I have no reason to try to convince people my reasoning. I'm going back to whatever I was playing. Reply if you want, know that I won't read it. See you in the fog.

This picture is a couple months old, but this kind of behavior still happens in the high ranks.... maybe not as often but it's still there. Poor Dwight was found at the start of the game and camped until he died. Even with the three of us stacking generators to get out quickly, Dwight died and the bubba found Nea and camped her afterwards. Zarina unhooked her but it ended with me and Nea leaving and Zarina being camped to death after she saved Nea.
Killers who do this in the higher ranks usually don't care about points, and that's what makes it even worse. And you can see that killers like this guy (he said the GG) do this just to ruin peoples' games. He didn't care about the points or rank, he just wanted to be a toxic jerk.
My point is is that even when rushing the generators after someone's being camped, everybody usually loses anyway in one way or another. Be it time, pips, e.t.c.. It's not always as simple as just "rushing the gens and leaving", sadly.
If face camping is happening at high ranks then it doesn't tell me face camping is a problem. It tells me there's a lot of supposed "high rank" survivors that don't know what they are doing. Also it tells me the ranking system in this game is $#%^ed. Face camping only works if the survivors allow it. Were you all working on the same gen when bubba was face camping? Cause that's not what you should be doing.
I stopped playing since the nurse rework. I jump on once in awhile. As a result I deranked back to 12. I can tell you if I tried face camping the survivors I normally run into, I'm only getting that 1k.
