Exhaustion vs Hex Totem
Survivors have the unique exhaustion perks. All of them are amazing save for head on and dead hard when it randomly fails.
Killers get hex totems! Majority of them are garbage (Third seal, Lullaby, etc), the best one got gutted because it was used in 80% of matches even though 1. It was a bandaid fix for the dogshit map design and gen speed. 2. Dead hard, Ds, Unbreakable, adrenaline, Borrowed time all have super high pick rates and they don't get looked at like ruin does. You can lose the perk 30 seconds into a match due to the horrible ######### totem spots.
People get payed actual money to design and balance this game.

So you rant over the Ruin-Nerf by comparing it to Exhaustion Perks? This is... interesting.
Ruin was used like 99% of the time and it was annoying. New Ruin is ok as it is, you can pair it with surveillance to have a nice map control as long as it stays.
The exhaustion perks arent that damn good, so Adrenaline can be match changing and can be complete garbage.
Dead hard is 50% not working cause of the dedicated servers, you can only properly use it to get to a window or pallet in time.
Sprint burst / lihte are good to avoid one hit / gain distance if used properly. But more than a few seconds more arent granted most of the time.
Balanced landing is still one of the best i think, cause even if exhausted you still dont make a noise und recover from falls faster. My go to perk at the moment.
But still its nothing in compare to a totem like devour that lets you one hit and mori someone. Or the old hex that was straight out annoying for new survivors and not really that big issue for the skilled survs.
I think Hex Totem vs Exhaustion perk is a fair comparison as they are each a mechanic unique to their respective side. Both sides have obsession perks and end game perks etc, but these sets are unique
Devour needs to stack and can just be completely wiped removed from the game, exhaustion perks will always be there
The devs stated that no survivor perk was even close to the pick rate of what ruin was... besides self care.
I find that really hard to believe. I wish they would publish the stats so the players could know whats going on in the game
Everytime they release stats they get a bunch of players claiming they lie about them to make survivor look harder, did you know the devs have released stats 4 times over the course of the years, and in those stats every kill rate has been above 50% and the people still claim that killer is this impossible side to play.
Ok so what now? Nerf all exhaustion perks to a one time use?
And thats just the balance of risk and reward with a hex totem, i think the odds are very even, good perks that can be prevented and mediocore perks that can be used one time per chase.
Kill rate is not a good way to determine the strength of a killer.
You got some weird defintions of good and mediocre. Lullaby, Third seal, thrill of the hunt are not good perks at all. Exhasution perks are a staple of survivor builds
Most perks are build dependant. Of course there are useless ones, on both sides.
My definiton in this topic would be:
Good: The perk affects all survs, some take a little time to get powerful (risk and reward) but will be game changing if in the right build on the right killer.
Mediocore: Useful perks that will be map, situation, skill and luck dependant. For example adrenaline can be your op game changing perk or completely useless.
Every time a survivor uses an exhaustion perk to extend a chase the other survivors have that much more extra time to do objectives. So yes exhaustion perks can and often do affect every player on a map. That being said, I don't have an issue with them.
I swear you don't recover faster when exhausted?
That was the part that pissed everyone off. It lost the stagger reduction when exhausted
Same man, I hated it. They gutted it just because they didn't want to fix the maps where it became a problem, now Balanced landing is a worthless perk. :(
Yea i got that wrong.
Patch 3.4.0
The buff side is still kinda a nerf, cause "while not exhausted" means that if im exhausted even the sounds are hearable? so It has no effect while i`m exhausted. Do i get this right?
Yes. It works like all other exhaustion perks now. Meaning it doesnt do anything when exhausted
Ruin the best Hex-Perk. Sure. LOL. And comparing Hex-Perks to Exhaustion-Perks. Hilarious. Its quite painfully laughable what killers come up with.
I think that's because ruin was so important for many killers. That's why it's pick rate was so high. Against competent survivors, the gens get done too fast early game. Unless your a meta killer.
Also the patches these devs have released in the past, I don't trust their information in the slightest.
IMO, Devour Hope was and is the best hex perk. It has no notification till 3 stacks instead of most hex perks that give a warning the moment you touch a gen. By then it's easy to guard and it pays for itself at that point. 2 more stacks and you get a mori that you had to work for. Which I believe is fair compared to an ebony mori.
Yeah, you're right. My god, they really gutted it...
Damn german translations. It just reads different, if I look at that perk ingame.
These mechanics are incomparable. For one thing, exhaustion is in a good spot. It's got upsides, downsides, it's relatively consistent (except Adrenaline, but that's a special case). Hex perks are just a joke, with three of them (Ruin, DH, NOED) being used as an excuse not to touch the mechanic as a whole and two of them (Haunted Grounds, Retribution) being bandaid fixes that didn't really work. Really, really hope that totems at least get the Dead Dawg treatment in every map. Not a perfect fix, but it's better that having some clueless survivor randomly spot it from a mile off and insta cleanse, thus activating the insane argument of 'JuSt RuN tOtEm PrOtEcTiOn'. Totem protection perks are bandiad fixes that massively subtract from your build by taking up a slot an actually useful perk could be in, instead of a meme trap-card trying (and usually failing) to protect your meme perk.
I mean they literally just killed Balanced Landing, again
Dead Hard is a Buggy mess and sprint burst is used by idiots who only walk
Exhaustion perks aren’t all god like either
