Yeah. Every killer in the game that's licensed is very weak. That's our definitive proof that the next one will be, purely off the license.
/s
GF and Freddy are probably the best out of the licensed killers. Although Fred needed to wait a year and 1/2 to get a rework to be good. F tier was named after Freddy. He was weak at launch and they still nerfed him.

As a Killer, don't let Survivors tell you how to play. The entitled ones, by definition, believe they deserve to win and that anything you do is 'cheap' and 'no skill' because, as long as they can make excuses, they did not REALLY lose.
I think Tywin Lannister said it best.

But it does, doesn't it. NOED is a huge second chance perk, since it gives you a fighting chance after you've failed to stop the gens. DS gives you a fighting chance when you've failed to evade the killer after being unhooked. According to your logic, both are 'unhealthy for the game'. Stop cherry picking and showing blatant bias.
(I personally think all second chance perks are fine right now before you call me an entitled survivor main. I also play both sides btw)
Noed is a hex. Enough said.
-
Sometimes i run bond just so i know if someone is being chased and they are bringing the killer to the gen im working on.
-
The only time i like haddiesfield is when im trapper. Some of those rooftops can only be acessed by vaulting a window. If i trap that they literally cant disarm it unless they step in it.

No the "if the killer hook someone else" idea is pretty abusable, and if your point is about it isn't tunneling at that point that let me tell you the perk isn't designed to be anti tunnel.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1262120#Comment_1262120
You can still slug the recently unhooked survivor, it shouldn't be that hard to remember who's hooked recently.... and count to 60.
If the perk isnt anti tunnel then from here on. No one can deny its a 2nd chance perk. Those are unhealthy for the game and killer has none. Don't say noed. It doesnt even come close to ds.

I think I only heard of him from watching Otz but there's a trapper main called Humerogamers that streams on twitch.

I wouldn't go nuts if it is only 10s MAX.
But it doesn't need any nerf other than deactivate when you enter a locker.
Deactivate if you enter a locker or if the killer hooks someone else.

Killers get a notification that survivors might have DS from the obsession symbol and an actual notification when being DS’d on the right with a timer in the bottom right (similar to Devour Hope don’t you think?).
The bottom left also informs the killer without a visual who is hooked, in dying state, and injured without literally seeing the survivors. Along with names and the characters they chose are in the settings.
Both sides have to pay attention. This is a silly argument.
Obsession doesnt mean jack. You can run DS and not be the obsession. I never run DS cause I think it's a crutch perk and Im always the obsession -.- If you down someone and pick them up you have no idea if they have DS until you get hit by it. Both sides have to pay attention. No argument there but one clearly gets more help from the UI.

@Steel_Eyed said:

And this is a problem why? Devour Hope notification comes from the first hit after three stacks. NOED is the same where they learn after you down someone.
I don’t know that there’s a ruin notifier but it’s obvious when the generator sparks.
So notifications for perks are a problem why?
I just find it contradictory that you say the killer has to pay attention to details while survivors get all these notifications so they don't have to pay attention.
DH is perhaps the only proper hex perk because they don't get a notification until 3 stacks and you hit someone.
Lullaby and Ruin you get a notice the moment you touch a gen. I don't think there should be a notification. If you get downed in one shot assume dh, noed, or haunted grounds ect.
Not just hex perks but other things as well. When I play trapper and run a diamond stone. If someone steps in a trap they get a notice saying "If you free yourself your getting downed"

I’ve seen this line of thinking several times now and, to the detriment of my killer games, I just don’t agree that this is a problem. I also disagree that one minute is too long.
I think the primary fault in the above logic is the use of ‘anti-tunneling’ because then everyone lawyers up around the definition of this and wants to find loop holes to get around what the perk does.
The circumstances that are brought up as examples of ‘wanted disqualifiers’ for DS are minor and basically complaints that the freshly unhooked dared to continue playing the game. Even in the above, you happened to run into them while chasing another player, therefore you shouldn’t have to eat a DS. I come from the point of view that it’s the killers responsibility to know which survivors are fresh off the hook, not the developers, so it’s the killers mistake if they unknowingly got DS’d.
"Its the killers job to know who was hooked last".
Meanwhile survivors get a notification whenever ruin, devour hope, lullaby, haunted grounds or noed comes into play.
-
Side note. If going trapper I strongly suggest running Corrupt Intervention and Whispers.
Intervention buys you time to set your traps which is much needed. Whispers once learned how to use it. Is not only a great tracking perk but it also tells you when no one is around. So hopefully it's safe to plant a trap no one will see.
-
The problem with DS is when you leave the hook, hook someone else, you run into the first person by chance, down them and they STILL have DS. No one was camping, no one was tunneling. The 60 secs is too long and what about people who have DS and they deliberately go towards the killer because they know they are safe? It should shut off when the killer hooks another survivor or the person pulled off the hook is healed.
The pictures, although funny, cant literally be changed to direct survivors too. Swap out killer with survivor and DS/Camping/Tunneling with learn to loop, learn to route, learn to hit great skill checks.
-
Also when you travel via portal you are stealthed for like 2 seconds. It's great for placing one near a gen you think they are working on, then traveling there to get the drop on them.
-
Legion has the side effect of pipping easily but not securing any kills because of how his power works. You may rank up quickly and face people higher skilled than you. BUT considering this games MM and your playing killer, that will happen anyway.
Both are mediocre killers but I feel trapper is more viable than legion once you learn how to play as him.

No skill comes into it if you go for the person that was unhooked, and no pallets are within sight.
Your teams fault for making a bad save and using all the pallets in said vicinity. Also your fault for getting downed in that area.
-
Like others have said, tunneling is just a word people throw around when they lose because they don't want to consider the possibility they were out played.
I go after who is the best target for my objective.
If I see 2 survivors. One healthy and one injured, I'm going for the injured one.
If A survivor pulls someone off the hook right in front of me I assume they have BT+DS so I go after the person who made the rescue. Not because I think it's unfair to the survivor pulled off the hook but because BT+DS will take me longer to down them again. So I go for the rescuer because it is quicker and one less person working on gens. The injured one will probably find another survivor to heal.
If I leave a hook, don't find anyone, a save is made then I go back to the hook. If I can't find who made the save but I see a blood trail I'm going after the person pulled off the hook because I cant find anyone else. That's the only person I found and leaving them alone hurts my objective.
If someone has been hooked twice already and I see them and 3 other survivors, I'm going after the one that is on dead hook. It's just the logical choice because one person taken out of the match helps me complete my objective.
Everything I do as killer is because it is what I find best for MY objective. I think Tyde said it best. "I am the killer. I am going to kill you in anyway I can" or something like that. Most if not all these whining threads about tunneling and camping can be solved if survivors played killer for a good amount of time. Learn why we do these things or better yet, learn what to do in those situations.
Tunneling=run bt, ds or dont save in front of the killer. Learn to loop or route so you don't get downed.
Camping= do gens
Face camping=do gens or don't be the first person found. Seriously killers that face camp the first person they hook should not rank up if you punish them for playing poorly. When my friends and I play SWF, if we run into a red bubba that face camps the first person we see it makes me cringe. "How did you get to this rank playing like that? Were ALL the survivors you faced before potatoes?"
-
It's not just ps4, the entire game is bad to play killer right now. There's just not enough people playing killer. The way the game is right now I can't imagine new killers sticking around after seeing how MM works.
-
Don't know how long it lasted but mine was against old freddy. We gave him a 3 gen and he would injure us but not commit. He patrolled the 3 gens and it took us forever to get one done.
-
I stopped playing
I took Kote's advice and played something else :p
-
The only advice I can offer is corrupt intervention and whispers. Intervention buys you some time to set your traps. More importantly use whispers to know when someone IS NOT around. That tells you it is probably safe to plant a trap without someone seeing it. Sadly, headsets counter trapper really hard. Plant traps in unlikely places to try to catch them off guard. Like tall grass around a pallet loop instead of under the pallet or on the other side of the vault. You kind of want to aim for a 3 gen as trapper. Learn to let them have certain gens and try to get them to go to the places you have rigged with traps.
If one person is running around disarming your traps, that sucks but it's one less person doing gens. Hold onto your traps, down someone and rig the place. If it gets really annoying you can run iridescent stone so the traps rearm themselves or bloody coil so the disarm-er at least takes some dmg. Ultra rare add ons, I know -.- You could run NC with bloody coil to try to catch the disarm-er while they are healing.
Always run a trapper bag.
-
I agree the Nurse add on rework needed to happen but they didn't need to touch her base kit. No on liked a quadruple blink nurse. With the cd it takes you longer to traverse the map. Some survivors don't even bother to juke. They just run in a straight line cause they know you can't catch them till you blink twice and recharge. Most of her add ons suck now. The only good ones are distance, less fatigue and blink recharge. If your a great nurse you won't be affected by the rework but for the rest of us -.-
Also Nurse has quite a few bugs that have yet to be addressed and they have been around since the rework.
-
Maybe it's because I havent played on the map much but I hate it as killer. People constantly use the stairs with the vault that drops down to 2 pallets. As trapper there is zero tall grass so your traps are oh so obvious. As nurse there are a lot of LoS blockers. I'm sure Mikey or GF would have fun on that map but for the most part, I hate Hawkins.
-
On PC I normally play around the afternoon on the east coast of US. My killer is rank 9 atm and that takes me like 2-3 mins to find a game. My survivor is sitting at 16 cause I haven't used it in forever and that takes +5 mins to find a match but that could be because of rank. That rank range always sucked for either side.
Due to the MM and the ruin nerf, playing killer feels very frustrating now. Say what you will about ruin but a lot of M1 killers needed it. That's why you see spirit and billys most of your matches. As for MM, killer is being thrown at any survivor group that has been waiting long enough. There's posts all over the forums about rank 16 killers being paired with red survivors. If I was a new killer I wouldn't continue playing killer if I was being paired with survivors in the top rank. That would be like if someone played rank in Overwatch and the game threw a bronze player against someone in grand master rank.

That's still abuseable. Way too abuseable by killers, actually.
I completely disagree with a deactivation if someone else gets hooked.
What's gonnna stop the killer from slugging you, or downing your rescuer within 10 seconds of saving you? Only to hook them, deactivate your DS, then hook you again, all in less than a minute. That's still technically tunnelling.
A survivor shouldn't be punished for other survivors ######### actions such as farming you.
---
A much better solution, in my very honest opinion, is deactivate when you interact with anything at all.
This means, it will deactivate if you: Touch a gen, touch a totem, go in a locker, unhook someone else, touch a gate, touch a hook (sabo), etc.
Because honestly, if you're doing any of the above mentioned, you're probably not being tunnelled.
Otherwise the timer should last indefinitely until you interact.
AND, to make it more fair for killer: During EGC, there WILL be a 20 second timer on DS, no matter what, instead of lasting forever.
If the killer downs your rescuer 10 seconds after saving you then maybe you shouldn't have saved that survivor. If you got pulled off the hook and I downed+hooked the person who saved you. That's quite a bit of time for you to run away.
As for the "should last indefinitely until you interact with something" well old DS was almost indefinitely. If you were the obsession you could use DS at any point you got picked up. If you werent the obsession all you had to do was wiggle to like 30% which didn't take long. The current DS is better but it is still not balanced. If your pulled off the hook and the killer isn't chasing you, then you shouldn't be running towards him because you got a get out of jail free card. That's my issue with the current DS. It's the people who take that 60 seconds and go after the killer because they know they are safe. The killer can either eat the DS or slug. The 2nd option can be countered by running unbreakable. It may not sound like a lot but that time is precious to any M1 killer that is not in the meta.
-
I think this idea will just encourage people to dc at the loading screen when they get a map they don't like. Either side.
As killer I love haddiesfield if Im playing trapper. No matter what killer I'm using I hate bedham because everyone runs to the damn school.
As survivor I hate sheltered woods. No hills so balance landing is useless except the stairs leading to the basement. Whenever I try to climb up the big tree to trigger it I end up getting hit.
-
A lot of survivors will complain no matter how you play. Ignore them. It is your objective to kill them and it is their objective to escape. You are both doing what is best for you but we happen to be on opposite sides. Some survivors complained SO much that the devs had to come out and say tunneling and camper are not against any rules and are not banable offenses. Play how every you want so long as your not cheating.

I believe everyone should have a right to play but I for one think this is a bad time to get into dbd. With the MM and the new MMR, it really sucks for new killers right now. Being paired with red ranks when your still rank 16. It's just unfair.

If you want a game to relax, dbd is not it.

And that in lies the problem..that's your best last option but ds says "lul if the gate isnt across the map I escape for free and bt garunteed he will too" the rest of the time its minor annoyances like just carelessly destroying my hag traps but it's still something I can play around ..a perk shouldnt be a checkmate like this without a heavy prerequisite or risk I.E. devour hope..
Even if the gate is across the map the other 3 can still body block. Running noed or playing certain killers isnt a solution either. I should be able to counter a scenario as any killer not just the current meta.
-
The notice would help newer killers. The only thing i would want changed about ds is if the killer hooks someone else it shuts off. Too many times i hook one, leave, hook another, the first survivor bt saves right in front of me, i down the first survivor again and they still have ds. I wasn't tunnelling as they came to me. As much as i hate ds i know why its still here. To help with tunneling off the hook. However even if i dont tunnel i still have to deal with it. When that 60 sec timer starts if they decide to get in my face i either have to slug or if they get in a locker i have to take the stun.
-
Never
-
They say it's a great map for nurse but I think it hinders her just as much as it helps her. So many LoS blockers.
-
We could bring back old ruin if it'll make you feel better lol
-
As killer I wait about 2-3 mins for a match and I'm only at rank 9. My survivor has been collecting dust for so long it's back to 16 so I can't judge how long or short that takes.
I do the same thing I do when wiating in que. Alt+Tab out and watch youtube.
-
The devs can remove both for al I care. I hate DS and I dont use noed so Im fine either way.
-
A bit of both I think. Not so much swf as headsets. I don't know how they could try to balance that out. Maybe give the killer more rewards for playing against a swf? Extra perks? Not a big change but "AFTER" a match is done I wouldn't mind having a little symbol that told me who was in a swf so I know if it was a 2 man or a 4 man. Can't have it before the match because killers would lobby dodge.

@Flatskull said:
No. This is a sentiment almost all killers have been expressing for a long time. The Devs have been adding stuff to try and even out the game without busting it such as breakable walls to help dillute the insane loops and following that this recent update they simply removed the ultra strong to near endless loops some buildings have. They also spaced out some tiles and placements and this maps are notably improved.
The main problem is that DbD should be dilluted with different interactables, items and tools survivors can use that aren't just pallets or loops. Loops and pallets are insanely strong because they both stop the killer and buy time, sometimes a silly amount of time even if they're moderate loops if a survivor can memorize when to safely vault or run at the red stain radius. Which is why killers tend to feel like they can't do anything besides chew pallets and run circles boringly. It's also one of the reason it's boring to play survivor since you can only interact with gens or loop more or less.
There should of been like 3 different hiding interactables and chasing interactables for each catagorey at least before release, with interactables that cause blindness effect on killers or help disorient them so a survivor can jape and hide or something. But they don't. It's one of the reason survivor so rarely hide or use closet unless they got head on. The monotony of the map makes the game monotonous.
The great irony is that the game is insanely hard and distressing for killers but the ultimate fix for this is a new item/interactable update for survivors. The game would be way more fun instead of running to pallet to pallet survivors had to scout and plan routes and see what different interactable are wear and where pallets are. But they ain't.
also SWF is busted as hell.
I agree. I main pig. She's great. Nurse is a stun fest. I don't care what rank she is, it's not fun to constantly look at the floor hit or not.
It would be nice if there was actual way to lose the killer once you are found. Yeah there's lockers but if the tracks are gone and there's a locker nearby, it's pretty obvious your inside it. There's perks like dance with me+lithe to help with that. Fast vault, break Los and try to crouch to lose the killer but that rarely works against good killers. There's q&q and head on but again, your not going to lose the killer so much as stall for time. Iron will and urban can help but once your bleeding the killer isn't going to lose you. Against killers like billy or bubba I don't even attempt to hide from them once I am being chased. If I'm crouched behind a barrel and he happens to see me that's a free chainsaw. When it comes to chases I feel stealth has a very low chance of succeeding but looping absolutely will succeed to a degree.

How about several skillchecks without a key, like on the jigsaw trap boxes? Would make the Endgame less lame for killers who did not deserve more kills by their whole performance before?
There are only 2 maps in this game, where a killer really has to work in the Endgame. Meatpacking Plant and Hawkins, the rest is piece of cake after 400hrs+ killerplaytime.
Or how about you pick FRANKLYN'S if you spot a key, that's why it was implemented years ago, mate.
All us killers know if you run franklins, someone will pick that key back up lol
