You're essentially running without a power in this case. If you chase them it takes too much time because you have no traps and there are 3 other people doing gens. And ofc the best runner on the team has the flashlight and DS.Trying to use traps as bait is difficult or impossible because the flashlight range is so long that they can destroy them over at least a pallets worth of distance.
This isn't an uncommon scenario either. This is happening regularly in green ranks and up. So idk what to do. the idea that a killer has to run away from 1 guy with a flashlight seems silly, but my power is essentially being disabled by 1 person. It's particularly bad if I'm found early in the match.
Its the same as any other killer. Those guys usually play SWF with lower ranks, try to identify the weak spot and tunnel him to death. You can also use him as hookbait for the DS/flashlight guy to come to you instead of following him through the loops.
This is how DBD is played. If there is no weak spot in the game, you might aswell DC

So just hitting P3 with her, and having a fair amount of fun playing around with Perks and such, and although she's not trash by any means, and has a lot going for her once you get used to tracking survivors with haunting. The issue so far, is that a few of her mechanics force you to tunnel, what I mean by this is a few things. Her cooldown and general time taken to use her ability, makes it incredibly risky to use if you are not sure of getting a hit. Missing is such a huge time penalty (Especially when compared to similar killers) That you never want to make risky plays.
This means that because Scratchmarks have a delay, and are generally unreliable even with predator, and following them is just asking to get juked, sound is by far your best tool in using her.
So who makes more noise? Injured and recently unhooked survivors. If I haunt back to a hook after a rescue. (Which you can do from a fair distance, pretty rapidly) Its very easy to find the unhooked guy, and just tunnel them into the ground, its not something you do deliberately, but her power just lends itself to it, especially if running Stridor (Which she needs to even start being effective, put stridor in her base kit, seriously, without it survivors running iron will are invisible.) Going after a healthy survivor is pretty much never the best idea, because without the injured noises, its incredibly easy to get juked. I'm not sure how to fix this, and she still needs buffs in other areas, but as people find the most optimal builds for her, I think you are going to see a lot of salt because she really excels at just taking people out 1 by 1.
It is a killer designed for tunneling, just like leatherface has been designed for camping.
Both are legit ways to play the game and not "playing like a dick".

Survivors are bigger tryhards on PC, thats the only disadvantage

This is somewhat based on Titanfall, some of you may already know where im going with this. How about instead of banning players we put them in a seperate pool. SWF and Ranks are disabled there.
Lets put all the toxic kids, cheaters, exploiters, smurfs, disconnectors, sandbaggers, hostage takers etc. in one disgusting and insufferable cesspool. Where they can learn how it feels like having their experience ruined by kids who frequently get their Monster Energy snapbacks smacked of their heads by adults in real life.
Of course most offenses should only put them there temporarily. And increase with each visit while the rest of us can enjoy the game without them.
People claim that we dont even have enough players for a separate normal queue. I know, its kinda pathetic, but thats how it is

the whole idea is stupid, so i dont give a ######### about that.
WHY would you even THINK, that invulnerability for survivors would be a good idea? ;-;Because being killed by your teammates is probably the least satisfying way to die?
Because solo players shouldn't be thrown under the bus for not playing with friends?
Because getting downed when you haven't even had a chance to press a button is bullshit?
so lets punish the killer. great suggestion. just punish the guy who farmed you! dont reward him, since he A loses A LOT of emblem points, B A LOT of BP (if its not here yet, it will be coming soon) and C also gets screwed, when one of his team insta dies.
so again: WHY WOULD YOZ OUNISH THE KILLER FOR DOING HIS JOB?How is it that hard to kill the unhooker? Holy hell
It is hard because you are auto aimed towards the survivor being unhooked.
I woudl have no problem if the game compeltely removed the other survivors hitbox while being unhooked.
But right now, my swing is directed towards an invulnerable target, then I have to swipe of the blood and both survivors are gone. -
@Kaelum said:
That’s not a bug, it is intended. The survivor is 100% invulnerable until they have full controll of their character, which is about 1-2 seconds after they touch the ground, there is a bad side effect that I don’t know if it was intended or not. The Hillbilly’s chainsaw will auto-target the nvulnerable player, and not the unhooker, basically making them both invulnerable. My normal hits got auto aimed to the invulnerable survivor too....

Thats impossible unless you have survivors sniping you.....

I dont think that the devs ever balance the game around swf

Yes I play toxic..... since killing is considered toxic when you play killer

I am sure that the devs (who always read the forum) are gonna go through this wall of text

Really? On PS4 there’s alway way to many killers. Probably because they have the ability to delete survivors save files by closing application mid match. Devs said it wasn’t a big deal and to suck it up. Seems legit
PC here, but now in the evening in EU the spirit hype decreased so hard already that I find a killer game in less than a minute

Firstly - this is my first time posting, excuse if I posted in the wrong channel or anything.
Now to the topic, I'm a bit surprised no one has brought this up (or maybe i just didn't see it)? Decent killers who are good at the huntress are pretty much impossible to escape against if they have iridescent, but maybe thats the point of an ultra rare addon.. then again other killers ultra rares are not this strong.
I was having a discussion with someone while streaming and I came up with a small buff that still keeps the offering strong but a bit more manageable for survivors.
What if when she hits you with an iridescent hatchet, instead of being insta-downed, you go into the borrowed time state, where you have a time limit to get healed by another survivor before you 'bleed out' and go down. This gives survivors a chance, but the offering is still very powerful because you are still in danger and cannot do any other map objectives until healed. And if you get chased after being hit you are still almost a guaranteed hook unless you escape and get healed.
Thoughts?EDIT: For those saying she loses hatchets and has to run grenade belt - valid points, but my idea is not just a straight nerf, if they did change it to my suggestion of putting a survivor in a BT state, they would also rebalance it to not take away the 2 hatchets or something (w/e they come up with), to keep it more fair to the huntress.
Try to verse the depip squad with an iri huntress. You will regret

Btw, huntress received two nerfs in a row now and atm she is beyond ridiculous

It's not your dumb csgo mate.PS
Just to point out something - DbD is not an esports material and will never be. Stop taking it as one.Yet we are forced into a competitive matchmaking.
And if you dont punish Dcs, well people gonna DC, what a surprise

And remember, I said it's PERCENTAGE based. That means if you only play a few times a month, you'll hit that threshold for a softban MUCH FASTER.That means, if you disconnect for a bad connection on your first game, you get an instant softban, because you are at 100% at once. Seems fair and userfriendly.
Thats how it works in ANY other competitive game too.

Prior to this patch hag was one of the top played killers, especially at ranks 1-5 so flashlights were a pretty common sight. After this patch there's still Hag although way more Wraiths now so still Flashlights get a lot of use.
I have not seen a single hag since the patch yet. And I paly a lot atm due to double BP.
2 wraiths so far I believe.Dont fool yourself, you know why survivors bring those flashlights

I’ve been noticing some killers leave the obsession down like a fool and never pick them up because they are running rancor and don’t want to waste it , lol that’s supposed to be a last line of defense at the end game, I don’t understand why they would let the game get to that point to use one perk and totally ignore the main objectiveThats what I have done pre-patch too. Usually its better to slugg the DS instead of losing momentum

Not Sole Survivor.I can't seem to find any counter to it. At all. With the exception of SS... And telling anyone to run this trash perk is like telling a Wraith or Mikey to run Distressing...(unless you're purely farming BP)
It took them how long for Calm Spirit to help counter The Doctor... but.. I'm sure I'm going to regret asking any type of questions regardless of my playtime. I feel like the dev is constantly kicking Solo players in the nads while doing nothing to SWF as both Killers and Solo players have mostly crappy games when paired against SWFs(the sandbagging etc)
Use stealth perks.
If the killer cant find you, he cant use rancor

If u can't accept that you will lose game, just dont play as a killer, to be honest, don't play any game cuz losing/winning is part of the game.@DeadByFlashlight This post is not faced to you, its directed to all pussy-killers.
This has nothing to do with "pussy killers".
You learn the game against appropiate enemies, not against a SWF that uses all tools available.
It was the rigth decision to DC, because you arent gonna learn anything in such a game (other than how unbalanced DBD is), better skip it and proceed with normal games.
If I were in his position, I would have done the same -

Really guys, none of you can take a couple minutes with google translate?Middle one that says 175% is literally "Saved from the hook". He likely did a lot of saves
However, the -85% is very telling. Translation is a bit messed up, but it's unsafe rescues
If I were to guess, all his unhooks were downed in less than 10 seconds after unhooking. As the system works, you lose TWO ranks of benevolence when this happens, so you end up losing a rank every unsafe unhook you do. He did it so much, the value ended up less than zero, so the system for figuring percentages freaked out and gave us these messed up values.
Anotherwords, this is a guy you don't want on your team because he doesn't take responsibility for the people he rescues.
I am german myself and can understand very well.

Why can't we all just have fun and play a good game
?....No, really. After game chat is the worst. I want to say "gg" if I had a good time, but the most random comments can escalate people so quickly. It's like they're touchy as f*** and super on edge.
I stopped playing killer because I was tired of being harassed and now the other survivors are harassing me when I play survivor lol. Several times now in games, certain survivors have gotten angry that I am doing generators and not running around in the middle for who the f*** knows what reason, so I can die and they can hook farm me I would guess. They run up to me and point in the direction they want me to go and if I don't listen, they will jump around me and create loud noise notifications and try to run the killer into me.
The community in general just really needs to be cleaned up; the extreme negativity, sandbagging, name calling, threats, attempted harassment through other platforms, and general anger and angst all need to stop. I don't know how to go about fixing it, but all I can say is I hope the new reporting system helps and that the devs crack down on it.
You know whats sad.
Devs even support this toxic behaviour by giving away the fog whisperes to certain streamers promoting exactly the toxic playstyle.

Camping will continue to run rampant so long as the game is balanced atrociously. It will continue regardless.
I know.. it's hilarious people think camping will stop if killers get these magical buffs. No, it's not going to stop because that's just how the bad kids like to play.
Of course it wont stop everyone, but it will definitely stop several killers from camping
Some , yeah. But not everyone.
Some camp because they are afraid of not catching any more survivors, while others camp exactly because they catch them easy and/or gens are not being rushed to punish them for it.The majority camps because chasing is too hard, especially after a 3 gen chase you have to camp basically.
Majority? Can I see the source you base this claim on?
I'd say it's because they had easy games against newbie survivors and then are forced to "git gud" against experienced ones and they decide to camp and say "game is unbalanced because I can't destroy survivors easy like I should because I'm a pro". Or maybe they are just afraid of people being saved as soona s they move away.
They take this game too seriously, it's not a competitive game.
Saying it's because chases are "too hard" is just an excuse.
I play both sides and know how "fun" it is to be camped, so I don't camp even if it will mean that I get 0 kills.
People who do are either main killers and don't care about how fun it is to be camper , or are hypocrites complaining about campers while they camp themselves. From my own game experience, I claim that most killers camp due to necessity or to punish toxicity, not because they "want to" and enjoy this playstyle.
Yeah no #########, the game is unbalanced at higher levels. This is not a competitive game? Why are we forced into a competitive matchmaking then? I would prefer a casual mode too, but I cant because there is onyl the ranked mode.
How is that an excuse? Watch any of the good streamers (talking several thousand hours here) playing a loopable killer. It can easily happen that they are looped for several gens. If even those players whose job is it to play DBD the whole day cant deal with this, how is a "normal killer" supposed to deal with it?
Its your decision whether you wanna play the friendly 0 kill killer, but dont force that playstyle upon others. And I am pretty sure that any killer main with experience also plays survivor, because going through the stress as killer the whole time is unbearable (at least imo)
And another thing thats really interesting, when I play survivor I rarely get camped, but on the other hand I dont use unfair stuff like DS and flashlights and I play solo without voice comm advantage

Lol trying to throw salt on anything when you just admitted you're a camper yourself? Here's a little secret. If you can't end a chase within 1 or 2 gens from popping it's 100% you. You're just bad at the game.
Did you even read?

The gens are fine as they are. What they need to do is make hex totems, and totems in general better.
They need a slight buff to thrill of the hunt...
And
increase the cleansing time of hex totems by 6 seconds, and dull totems by 4 seconds each.
This alone will keep people off gens...and slow things down just a touch...
Then it will encourage killers to run "Thrill of the Hunt"
Where cleansing the hex or dull totems in general will take more time. It's a small change, but it would help a bit.
Maybe you wanna take a look at this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=67&=&v=rJqFxk8U0OY
Thrill of the hunt can be abused by toxic survivors such that you have to mute your sound, I dont use it anymore because of this shitshow and the devs even allow this.
Good survivors can simply power through ruin, so all hex perks in the world wont help protecting your ruin^^
