No to BT, yes to DS.
-
The only killers who I think need it are killers that are either too weak or require setup time.
That being Trapper, Hag, Clown, Legion, Plague and Demogorgon.
-
I mean, I am in favour of it but like @FoggyDownpour I'd rather it be actual posts rather than spams.
-
I usually dislike playing Solo Survivor, so I only play when friends are on.
-
Funnily enough, everytime I make use of this is when I chase someone.
Like I'm not even camping, they just unhooked in front of me during our chase and they expect me NOT to hit the unhooked survivor.
-
No.
-
Hahaha.
Had a good laugh reading this.
-
No.
-
If I answer Freddy, will I get a restraining order from everyone here?
-
Either side, I will feel like I tried my best and I feel exhausted after finishing a game of DBD.
Even if I escape or 4k.
-
I dislike Spirit as much as the next guy but this is just.... Ouch.
-
How exactly does it enable camping?
What would the killer be camping? The room itself? They wouldnt be exerting any pressure anywhere else.

I am referring to his powers, not tunneling or camping which is universal. Dream snares screw chases, dream pallets ultimately are devastating to a normal chase because you waste time dropping the pallet when most of the time it will end up being fake.
And my god, he did not need the ability to teleport to generators. There are so many things wrong with that.
Hey, hey.
I'm a Freddy main. And even with all of that I can still be demolished if the survivor team is good enough. And I wholeheartedly acknowledge them being more skilled than me.
When I play Freddy, I don't feel like the killer is holding me back. I feel like I am holding me back. That I am not good enough if I go up against skilled survivors.
If you think he is unbalanced or has no counterplay, then you will hate going against any killers in Red Ranks.
-
I'm in favour of this.

The were hard but not impossible.
They were luck based. It's hard because you rely on others to be in a situation that allows you to attempt it.
-
I wouldnt mind the difficult challenges. I just don't want the luck based ones like the EGC challenges.

You can still keep at it, you just won't get any Rift Fragments

it's likely Freddy will get reworked again in someway if the stats released are anyway accurate. An 80% kill rate is a bit too much for a lot of survivors to accepts...
I do agree that forever Freddy is a true nightmare though
It's not 80% though? None of the killers are above 80%, not even Freddy. And he has the highest killrate.
And that's only in Red Ranks, where the skill imbalance of Killers and Survivors are much more prevelant, overall Ranks everyone is around 70%.
-
Entity Freddy from Wes Craven's New Nightmare.
I would pay hundreds for it.
-
I do agree, if every killer has a way to have map pressure without the help of a perk it would boost the potential for weak killers like Clown and Legion.
And if I have to be honest, I want to see more Clown and Legion whenever I play survivor rather than Spirit for the upteenth million time.

You are right, the problem is the community. Anything relating to objectives being done much faster (Dark Sense Challenge), or camping a certain objective (You, Yes, You! Challenge) is going to raise some eyebrows or spark some rage. Because it can turn a normal average game into a sweat-filled hell. And I don't think I need to say anything else other than the fact that being sweaty is not fun for most people.
I like these challenges. I prefer them for being a test of skill. I don't dislike them because of their difficulty (hell, some of them are piss easy). I do dislike them for having some challenges that are very luck based (EGC Challenges, Hook 4 Survivors in the Basement.)
It's made all the more impossible as I personally am stuck in Red Ranks, and you know how Survivors and Killers can be in those ranks. They will either spend no time gunning for the escape or show no mercy during the Endgame.
If the challenges were more personal and doesn't require the teamwork (or luck, if you're in solo) of others. I'm sure the community won't be as mad as it is.
-
I just go like this:
If 2 or 3 survivors disconnect at the beginning of the match, I will go and farm with the others.
If 1 survivor disconnects, I'll still play normally.
If any survivor disconnects during the mid to endgame, I will still play normally. I'll consider it a kill and move on.

Two challenges sounds really nice on paper, but it probably wouldn't work so well in practice. Since the nodes are connected together and only unlock once the previous one is completely, chances are you're not going to be able to multitask much. You'll probably only have one survivor and one killer node available most of the time, and you can't do both of those at the same time.
Being able to select one killer challenge and one survivor challenge might be nice for those who switch back and forth often, though. That way you don't have to go back in each time you switch sides.
We hear you guys about the Rift being grindy- we're taking that feedback to the team.
It would be nice to do Killer/Survivor challenges while also doing challenges like Iridescent Age or BP challenges.
There are also some overlaps withh the current level, hooking and killing your Obsession.

Or just borderline impossible in normal gameplay caugh caugh more than one endgame unhook
That challenge legitimately requires SWF coordination, like seriously.
-
Sounds to me the David is just salty. Don't feed the troll man, say GG and move on. That pisses them off way more than you think it would.
-
I feel like this is BHVR's solution to toning down the toxicity of the game.
Make challenges so unbelieveably difficult, it forces both sides to work together.

That would be nice, but I don't think the difficulty of the two challenges are even comparable.
It isn't. But the main issue both challenges stem from is that it's exclusive to the Endgame Collapse. A fairly finnecky and messy endgame stage.
-
I'll help out with the EGC challenges too, however I hope some survivors repay the favour with the EGC challenge for killer too.
-
Killer Side
Can't live without it: Save The Best for Last. Saved my ass multiple times and punishes BT unhooks severely.
Can ######### off into the Void: Monstrous Shrine. Only useful for Basement Builds. Which I am not a fan of.
Survivor Side
Can be a true hero: Borrowed Time. Because killers don't see how good STBFL really is.
I would rather die: Object of Obsession. ######### this perk in general.
-
I've been asking for this for AGES!
I will pay up to 10k Auric Cells for it.

That sill proves the game is killer sided at red ranks. lol I don't know how you look at that and see a great than 50 percent kill ratio for all killers and think "yea. This game is survivor sided". That defies all logic.
Killers have a harder time ranking up than survivors. So obviously when you put killers who are skilled and experienced in the game against survivors who are pretty boosted, killers will have a higher kill rate in general.
As long as the ranking system makes it easy for survivors to pip and makes it hard for killers to pip (without a 3k), most Red Rank survivors will still be at a disadvantage against Red Rank killers.

I found a very reliable leak on Tomb IV 😏
Last Seconds
Within the last minute of the EGC, safely unhook a survivor then take a protection hit for that survivor. Afterwards, you must heal that survivor to the healthy state with an Emergency Med-kit then escape through the hatch.

Dont you dare.
-
I'm just gonna use a purely BT centered build for this challenge. 25 is a lot.
-
I hope the devs read this because I really don't want to do half of these challenges to be honest. They don't promote me to do better as killer or survivor, it just promotes me to feel burnt out faster.

But you can go around it. Can you not?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/871645#Comment_871645
What about the amount of trappers?
Not more than what I see normally.
I see a lot of survivors doing stupid ######### everyday mate... that didn't change when the tome was released.
People play weird and you try to win the match... how is that any different from a regular day of playing dbd?
I normally see my friends not attempt to compete for my unhook.
I normally see a lot less Trapper because not many people play him around Purple Ranks normally.
I normally see people do generators rather than look through chests for pointless stuff because they brought items with them anyways.
Whatever you want to say, these challlenges affects everyone even those who doesn't want to deal with it.

I don't mind grindy challenges, honestly. It's not like grinds in other games where you have to devote all your time exclusively to that one thing. You can just play and enjoy the game as you usually would, and get rewarded for doing so.
It wouldnt be so bad if you could do two at a time. The problem is it feels like you're not accomplishing much if you only do one challenge at a time.

It is not required. Because you can go around it.
And the tomes are also not required by design. You can ignore them and play normally.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/871623#Comment_871623
No one is forcing anyone to buy anything.
"You can ignore them and play normally."
Have you seen the amount of Trappers in the lobbies recently? The amount of survivors who suicide dives onto hooks? Do everything that isn't normally in a "normal game"?
Even if you ignore them, other people won't. And you won't have a normal experience because everyone else is doing the challenges while you don't.
-
You know what these grind challenges will just make me do?
Farm. Farm much more often.
Because it's boring to do. I want some of the more interesting challlenges, not these grinding bs.
-
These challenges look like hell.

Come back to me when people would adhere to that in a platform where everyone is anonymous and unhinge. By the way in case people start twisting my words as if I support toxicity. I don't. I just find it equally as hilarious expecting decency on the internet.
Good to know you're part of the problem :)

Overall creepiest?
Ingame it's probably Ghostface, he is the only killer that can actually jumpscare you if you don't have perks like Spine Chill Premonition.
Lore wise it's probably Spirit, but that is mainly because I have had personal experiences of hearing ghost stories based on her inspiration. And let me tell you, a killer like that is creepy as ######### in Asian Horror.
-
I just want Jason to be in the game solely because I want the Slashstreet Boys to all be in Dead by Daylight.
