The thing that bothers me about the nerf is the message it sends. Base no add ons Nurse was difficult when facing capable survivors who knew how she worked, knew the distances and charge times, etc. They forced line of sight breaks during fatigue and made you predict how much you needed to charge blinks. They could have stuck with the add on nerf and left it there. But instead they're signaling to the players, "You don't have to learn the counterplay, we'll build in arbitrary power restrictions instead." I'm waiting on the Freddy nerf because many survivors still won't drop pallets early against him.
Doubt Freddy will be nerfed anytime soon. But who knows? Maybe God hates Freddy mains.

We won't know for over a month. The hard ones are in level 3& 4 and we can only see level 1 at the moment
I am not looking forward to that at all.
-
Fair enough answer, I suppose.
-
I doubt you will always get games where they disconnect on hook. Chill.
-
If two survivors DC early, I'm farming with them.
But if it's just one I will be more lenient.

are you allowed to name and shame, cos i had a game like this a couple of days ago and the player was very mean, the worse game ever.
basically killer chasing me after fat jane came running towards me at the very beginning of game, body blocks me a few times. i get hooked, she unhooks infront of killer, i get hooked again, she unhooks, killer lets her heal me to 99%, waits and then hooks me again. i watch her go to other player bodyblocks her until killer comes and kills her too. some people say that is farming, but it isn't farming when you ruining people game.
No, you're not allowed to name and shame.

Honestly, I think the change is too much. Ultra rares are ultra rare for a reason. Now instaheals can join BNPs in the club of "survivor addons that are kinda good but definitely not worth 7k".
But that's some fast internet you've got there!
I don't think his internet was fast, Fibi. The Patch Notes is up in the forums.

That just means you have to play killer almost exclusively.

You've most likely gotten potato Nurses.
If a killer doesn't know how to play her, then she becomes one of the easiest killers to escape from. Because if a player has absolutely no clue as to what they are doing when playing Nurse, they are basically giving the Survivors a free escape.

Yeah, have fun following survivors while you recharge your power
Yeah, have fun keeping them in Line of Sight before downing them because Nurse's powers (and I can't believe I have to keep repeating this) ignores most chase mechanics.
I think it's a fair trade to have a cooldown for a power that can literally end chases before it even begins.

think everybody needs a few go's with nurse then see if you say she hasn't been nurfed to the ground. she is mega hard to use. she's too slow to walk and then after you blink to catch up with survivor, you can not see where anybody goes as she looks at the floor. they totaly vanish!
That's the point of her power. She's supposed to be a high risk/high reward killer. So you have to really know how to play her to use her optimally.
If you make a mistake all game, experienced survivors will capitalize on that mistake and make your life a living hell as a Nurse.

Her map pressure is gone. How's she still viable?
Do you just play Nurse blinking around the map without any reason to? Okay, let me explain to you how I used to play Nurse when I mained her a while ago.
I would save my blink until after I found survivors, keep them unaware that the killer they are facing is the Nurse. When I spot one, I immediately blink towards them, hit them and start the chase. Then I blink once more, down them, and reveal everyone else with BBQ and Chili.
That's basically how most of my Nurse games went when I mained her a while before I started maining Freddy.
I'm not saying it's the optimally viable way to play her, but it was effective enough that I got 4ks almost constantly. If I were to play her with the changes, nothing would change, as my strategies stay the same and will most likely work since Nurse still breaks most of the game's chase mechanics.
-
Survivor: Spine Chill
I don't think I can explain how many times I've saved myself when seeing Spine Chill light up. I've avoided a multitude of chases thanks to this perk alone. It's a lifesaver and I dare say it's better than any combination of the usual 4 meta survivor perks.
Killer: Remember Me
One of my greatest pleasures in this game was playing Freddy, more specifically OG Freddy. I was running this perk for the first time after getting it to reach Tier 3. And oh boy, was that a match to remember.
I specifically remember this perk saving me from not getting a 4k in one of the cornfield maps. I had just finished hooking a Meg on her death hook as the last generator got finished. With BBQ and Chili, I saw a Quentin (oddly fitting) run for the exit gate.
I quickly rushed over towards him, making sure my power will put him to sleep the moment he comes into line of sight with me.
As I come rushing towards the gate, I noticed the gates had 2 red lights already turned on. I hoped in vain that as soon as my power connects, I would be able to stop him before the gates are open.
The alarm starts blaring and my hands was sweating at the thought of him running away from my claws. But just as the gates were about to be open, Quentin falls asleep and I yanked him off of the switch.
I don't think anything has topped that game the whole time I played this game. Sadly nothing ever will, since old Freddy is now a long lost memory. Rest in peace, old friend.

She's getting outright nerfed. You won't have nearly the same map or chase pressure and you become an m1 killer inbetween blinks.
It's only a couple of seconds, this change won't affect you much if you actually have been using her for a while. It will however make it extra challenging for people who aren't used to playing her. Which is how it should be. She is a "Hard" difficulty killer.
-
Yeah, she will still mop the floor if you really know what you're doing with her.
She will just be extra challenging for people who don't have over 2,000 hours just playing her. Which I think is how it should be, she's a killer that ignores most chase mechanics and can end a chase really quickly if you're not careful.
So I think adding her add-ons will make her harder to play, which would make it easier and fair for survivors to survive against players who haven't practiced much with her or isn't Godly with using her powers.
-
Acting out my dreams of becoming a serial child killing pedophile.Trap survivors in endless Nightmare where they will have to face Claw Boi in his world.
Seriously, playing as Freddy is the one thing I love in Dead by Daylight. Though I personally prefer playing as O.G. Freddy, his new one is still fine thanks to Dream Pallets. Making survivors doubt their only means of defense in a chase and then slicing through it as they drop it is one of the most satisfying feelings you can get in this game.
-
God-tier Nurse Players will probably still mop the floor with survivors as they always do.
This rework/nerf/change just made Nurse much much more punishing for mid to low tier Nurse players. Because a couple of seconds in a chase can cost you as a Nurse.

When people die, bowels are among the first things to relax.
So they just crap when they die
That explains why some survivors suicide on the first hook. I think I get it now.
-
-
It's basically a free kill for me.
Because if they're standing there pointing at a locker, I will just slap them again and put them on a hook. Ignoring where they were pointing at originally.

I don't think we can classify Legion as a killer when he doesn't even have a power himself. So put him lowerer instead.

Okay, calm down people. Put down your pitchforks. I'm not here to ask to nerf Decisive Strike. Nor am I here to ask to buff the perk. What I am suggesting is merely what I feel Decisive Strike should be as a Survivor/Killer Main.
So, when DS was first changed, I noticed people started calling it an Anti-Tunneling Perk. Which is fine, it's best for DS to be changed into something that would punish a killer for going after the injured survivor, giving them another chance to escape from the killer.
But... I really disagree with that. Because of how this perk operates.
---
Using whatever is at hand, you stab at your aggressor in an ultimate attempt to escape.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike will become active and usable for 40/50/60 seconds.
While Decisive Strike is active, when grabbed by the Killer, succeed a Skill Check
to automatically escape the Killer's grasp and stun them for 5 seconds.
- Succeeding or failing the Skill Check will disable Decisive Strike.
- Successfully stunning the Killer will result in you becoming the Obsession.
Increases your chances of being the Obsession.
The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.
---
Here is the part where I disagree that this perk is an Anti-Tunneling perk.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike will become active and usable for 40/50/60 seconds.
For 40/50/60 seconds, you basically have a free health state. And I don't think that's how Decisive Strike should really work, because it encourages killers to slug survivors on the ground for a full 60 seconds with Tier 3. And if I'm correct, I don't think anyone likes being slugged in this game. Especially a full 1/10th of the game since most matches last for around 10 minutes. Just because the killer doesn't want to be hit with DS. Which is fair, waiting the full 60 seconds is a way to counter this perk.
But! I personally think if this perk were to be reworked slightly, it would still benefit survivors who are being tunneled by the killer and it would make it not frustrating for the killer to just eat DS left and right if their timing is slightly incorrect.
This is basically what I suggest we should do with this perk:
---
Using whatever is at hand, you stab at your aggressor in an ultimate attempt to escape.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike will become active and usable for 10/20/30 seconds. The timer will pause during a chase or if the killer is within 12/24/36 meters around you.
---
This way, survivors who gets tunneled can still use the Decisive Strike as their last resort to escaping the killer, whilst survivor who are unhooked and downed but away from the killer doesn't have the protection of DS that lasts for 60 seconds. Allowing the killer to come back and look for them without needing to be frustrated with eating Decisive Strike.
What do you guys think? Is this good? Is this horrible? Tell me what you think. Just an idea I had after brainstorming with a couple of people for a bit. It may be terrible, it may be decent. But I think this is a fairly balanced way to keep Decisive Strike fairly meta, whilst also making it slightly more fair for the killer.
Though mine got less attention.
-
This sounds like a hilarious and effective idea, please BHVR, add this.
-
I hope it rests in pieces.

This is what happens when everyone is overly altruistic at the start of the game.

@Bazzajack said:
I would agree if once downed the perk stays active until grabbed, nothing stopping the killer from slugging and then coming back, just like now
It will stay active if the killer is within a vicinity of the survivor, if the killer within 36 meters away from you, any teammate could come and pick you up while staying relatively safe.
-
I would personally buff the weaker killers.
Killers like Legion, Trapper, Wraith, Bubba. Killers who basically have no pressure with using their powers unless they come with specific add-ons or you've been playing them for an obscene amount of time.
-
I never understood why it was 45 seconds long. And why you needed to be in the Killer's Terror Radius for it to start counting down to zero.
It just sounds too situational for me to use it effectively. If I'm not doing Gens, I will be running away from the killer. If I am hiding, it's because I made my build specifically to play stealth. And usually I don't bring Diversion as a needed perk. Spine Chill, Lightweight, Sprint Burst and Quick and Quiet works well enough for me.
I also think the perk is a little too weak for the requirement. Most of the time the killer will be chasing someone already and won't be too fussed about another notification. And if you're hiding and you're using it to divert the attention of the killer away from you, most of the time it doesn't work. For me at least, since when I'm levelling up Adam, I was also trying to get his Adept achievement at the same time. Never found a good time to use it at all, and it never actually diverted the attention of the killer for a long period of time, enough time for me to escape at least.

I don’t BM killers. There’s actually a lot of mutual respect between the Rank 1 killer and survivor players on NA PC.
Glad to hear that.
Too bad the sentiment is not the same here in SEA.
-
Trapper.
Yeah he is weak, but nothing is scarier than knowing you might step on a trap and running straight into it a couple of seconds later for me.
I prefer not to play mindfield as a survivor.
-
Here's what I personally think of Freddy's add-ons.
Red Paint Brush and Red Swing Chains are without doubt the two best add-ons you can have for Freddy. Especially with a Forever Freddy build, you can grind the game to a screeching halt.
The other two add-ons I chose for S rank, which are the Pill Bottle and the Paint Thinner, is mainly what I use if I want to play as Dream Pallets Freddy. Which is always fun no matter what the result of the game is. There's nothing more satisfying than slashing a survivor through a fake pallet.
Well, maybe stunning a phasing Spirit, but you get the point.
As for A rank, The Jumprope and Outdoor Rope add-ons makes for some good slow down, especially if you also bring Red Paint Brush. But I usually only use these if I no longer have any Swing Chains left in my inventory. It's a good substitute, but nowhere near as good as Swing Chains.
Blue Dress is nice for a mini BBQ and Chili for every missed skill checks survivors do in the Dream World, works well with Paint Brush, but it's nothing too special in my opinion, I don't think I noticed much of a difference between a missed skill check with the Blue Dress Add-on and without it.
As for Nancy's Masterpiece, it's great if I want to teleport to the other side of the map a moment after the game started to check on something like a Hex totem, but otherwise I prefer to play without it if I have better add-ons.
Prototype Claws are the same as Paint Thinner but slightly worse. Which is why it's in A.
I don't need to explain Green Dress, same reasons as Blue Dress but worse.
Black Box is basically just what I use if I have a Mori daily for Freddy and I need to use Rancor because I have no mori offerings. It's not a good Ultra Rare in my opinion, but it's good enough for it to guarantee success of one of the most annoying dailies in the game in my opinion.
Sketch, Rake. Same reason as Masterpiece and Thinner, but much worse.
Class Photo is just terrible, Survivors will run away if the gen is spewing out blood anyways, whether or not Freddy will be on it. And it's not that good for applying pressure since most survivors I meet when I run this add-on just stick to the gens regardless if I am actually teleporting to it or not.
Wool Shirt is Blue Dress but much worse.
As for Block Add-ons, I'm sorry but I really can't find much use for them. It doesn't help with chases and it doesn't help with preventing gens from being done too quickly. I think all of them are worthless.
And any add-on that gives me "extra bloodpoints" for a nerf to my powers is just automatically terrible for me, except for Jumpscare Myers of course.

Hey, it's alright to feel that sense of accomplishment for ranking up. Especially with this broken ranking system.
I will say however, I hope you're not one of those players who just try to ruin the game for the other side. Because while I don't see the point in being competitive in a game like DBD, I can at least understand why some people are competitive in it. Just don't ruin the game for others.

I say that cause I just bought Leatherface and started leveling him and God hates me so
If God hates you, that means it will be a blessing for most others if BBQ does show up in the Shrine.
-
If I play well as the killer, I usually stick around in the post game chat, say "gg" and "well played" if they played amazingly as a team or as solo survivors.
But if I just got absolutely demolished, not being able to build up pressure, not being able to hook even a single person, I don't stick around and complain about the game not being fun. I just continue to my next game. After all I lost, and if I felt frustrated the whole match, I wouldn't be inclined to say I had a "Good Game".
Whoever thinks that "winning" is the only means to having fun is kidding themselves. Especially since DBD is not at all a competitive experience, it's a casual party game as best. If you don't get a 4k and you're complaining about it in post game chat, then you probably shouldn't be playing killer.
Being a killer requires more patience and concentration than a survivor, basically you're going to constantly stress yourself if you're just thinking about going for the win. I honestly don't get people who think that being competitive in a game like this is fun, neither survivor or killer. What's the point in stressing yourself in a game?
But I digress, I went a little off topic there. I will though, this has been happening long before games like Dead by Daylight are a thing. What constitutes a "good game" for some people is literally a matter of winning or losing. So no, it hasn't be "twisted". It has always been this way for some.
-
If Decisive Strike or Barbeque and Chili is actually in the next Shrine, I will go ahead and sacrifice myself to the Entity because there is no way those two perks will be in the shrine now or in the near future.
BBQ has only showed up like, what? Twice in the entirity it has been in the Shrine? I doubt it'll show up now.
-
It doesn't really matter much to me personally, as I don't play killers unless they're Level 15 at the very least.
I still play survivors even at Level 1, but that's mainly because Survivor gameplay and Killer gameplay are vastly different. I usually play Survivor when I just want to play a game that's relaxing rather than stressful.
