Don't assume something is going to be bad until you try it.
Don't like it after you try it? You have the right to complain, but wait until you try it.
We already have the leaked numbers, they're a train wreck:
- "Overheat" has 100 charges
- Starts at 0 charges(fairly obvious)
- Simply TURNING ON THE SAW adds 5 charges
- While revving, the saw builds 10 charges of heat per second
- While SPRINTING, the heat builds at 2 charges per second
- When idle(ie, not using the saw), the heat dissipates at a pathetic 3.5 charges per second
- If fully overheated, the heat dissipates at 6.6 charges per second.
What this means is by simply holding the saw for ONE SECOND has a whopping 4 second cooldown, and you still don't get to use it. If you do charge all the way to a sprint, congratulations, you now have to wait 8.5 seconds for the saw to cool, more along the lines of 10-12 after factoring in the sprint. And this is all assuming you don't miss and have to do it all over, or see another survivor trying to come for a save. And if you do end up being unfortunate enough to fully overheat the saw, you become a basic 115% M1 killer for 15 seconds. All of this for a killer that already needed skill to use. All BHVR needed to do was just remove instasaw. That's IT.

@AChaoticKiller said:
I actually like the overheat idea but i agree they took it too far. They need to either increase the cooling of the chainsaw, reward you for landing a hit with the saw by cooling it down like maybe 20%, or reduce the total amount of charges you use so that you can at least use the saw 3 times in secession.
It would make sense too, all that blood coating the saw would make LOVELY coolant

The problem with point 3 is if the developers were to skip a chapter, a lot of the community would be disappointed.
Almost everybody has been begging for BHVR to slow down the updates and actually fix the bugs

Yikes, imagine mentioning bugs as downsides, if only you knew how buggy survivor was, then that's the buggiest role to play with the most downsides.
If you miss a saw, that's on you, oh no, you can't immediately M1 after not being able to get an insta down for a whole 3 seconds? Sounds completely underwhelming considering YOU FAILED AN INSTA DOWN. His "downsides" don't correlate to how strong his power are, they're basically non-existant.
Survivor literally doesn't have any bugs, what are you talking about?

do you really belive that will discourage tunneling? i mean.. someone else can just pick it up when they play in a group. BUT not every single player in this game play in a SWF when will people understand that? everyone is acting like there are just SWF groups playing this game.
I have a sneaking suspicion that SWF is the majority of games. Not neccesarily 4stacks, but I'm pretty sure the majority of survivors play with at least one other person.

I’d be extremely surprised if most people have issues. In a dev stream a little while back they said that a ping of 150 is good, so the vast majority of players will probably not be penalised if they have similar thresholds for server validation. It will most likely only be those on VPNs or with god awful connections that will suffer, and that’s fair IMO.
If the devs genuinely think a ping of 150 is good, then they're even more incompetent than I thought. There's not a single (good) competitive game that considers even 100 ping as good, let alone 150. generally 50 ping is considered bad in online games.

It need not be actual farming. But judging by my last like 10 survivor games (red ranks), ALL killers we had were sweaty try-hards / entitled to their stupid 4k. Even with multiple cakes, from which they benefit as well, there's no f*cking mercy, not the slightest leeway, survs have to be put down under all costs, and fast. Hard Proxy-camping, tunneling, Iri-Heads,every scumy tactic available is used. It's a f*cking event, you known, why can so many killers not be the tiniest of generous?
Like I said, you don't need to actually farm. Just hunt, down, hook and slug if they are death hook (at least when they are not cocky / toxic). That will give you already a plethora of points, and still gives the survs a chance to get some points as well. Maybe let two out even if you could have gotten all four. It will give them 5k BP times cakes, where you will loose just a few hundred BP. And PLEASE, if you see a surv with the golden glow, and it's non-licensed character, grant them their fkn crown (if they are not toxic, that is)! You get the crown as killer with no effort, but as surv it can be such a hell. Collecting it like 5 times and always being killed mercilessly, despite mutliple chances to just be given the hatch.
So annoying, so frustrating (esp. in solo queue), the reason I'm switching to killer for the remainder of the event, playing cassually and giving us all the opportunity to get good points. I would really like to have the last crowns for the survs, but the killers I have to face are just to obstinate to show us any mercy if we would need it.
The reason for that is because survivors do the exact same thing. Every single match is red rank survivors, and 60-70% of the time they have multiple BNPs. I have a generator pop in the time it takes me to cross the map literally every game. Therefore, I no longer give a ######### about survivor fun. You want to genrush with 5 cakes? I'll bring a mori and 1-hook kill the whole team with 4 cakes. If I'm not allowed to have fun, I'm going to make damn sure nobody else does.

@LetsPlayTogether said:
Tell this those toxic tryhard killers that just want to ruin the games if anyone else throws in gateaus. And the issue is that those jerks get their 20k but the survs go out with just half at best. I really would like to deny these jerks any BP from my offering.
I'm making a point to bring an ebony every game until I stop seeing 2-3 toolboxes with BNPs in the endgame tally

The thing is, that room could lead to an hostage situation where people get in there and Killer blocks the window without any chance from the survivors to activate the EGC, he does have a point and it should be changed.
If all 4 survivors are in that room, something is VERY wrong.

Yes because having no way to see what the other side is doing and getting killed for that is balance. So is not being able to loop literally anything because you're slowed down all the time.
For freddy, drop the pallet early instead of greeding the loop
For spirit, stop running like a 4head and walk to keep from making scratch marks

Even as a killer main I feel like Diversion should give a stun if it hits the killer. I want to FEEL that rock hitting me in the head.

I agree that WGLF definitely needs a buff to bring it on par with BBQ; but what do you mean by "work on any generators that pop while you're alive"? So when any gen pops it also shows Survivor auras for 4s? Or only after performing a safe unhook died it reveal the auras of all Survivors? Like a mini Bond for 4s with unlimited range (just like BBQ past 40m)? If so, I can get onboard with that. A slight buff that gives SOME information while retaining that sweet, sweet farming potential = $$
It would be like Dark Sense, but for survivors instead of the killer. Each time a gen pops, you get +25% BP, and 4 seconds of aura reading to see all other survivors. This bonus will stack for all gens for a maximum of 125% BP bonus to offset the fact that survivors naturally get less BP than killers. If just existing for the bonus is too OP, make it so that you need to either complete 5% of the generator in question or be in a chase when the generator is completed. (also, remove the damn BP caps, theres no reason you should get stuck with <10k BP for running the killer for 5 gens)

Even survivors are for this if it also grants them WGLF stacks.
TBH just rework WGLF to work on any generators that pop while you are alive, and show all survivor auras for 4 seconds like chili

Because it doesn’t make any sense. Killers with cooldowns and such have them on their power, powers which allow them to teleport or go invisible or insta down, but survivors have no power to deplete stamina for.
Have you ever tried running before? You can't do that ######### forever

Correct. Any time a generator is damaged by kicking or with Surge, it regresses at 1/4 the speed of a repairing survivor

Am I missing something? There are exactly 6 obsession perks for survivors and an addon. Mettle of Man, Decisive Strike, For the People, Blood Pact, Object of Obsession, Sole Survivor and the Wedding Ring.
reducing chances to be obsession: Blood Pact, Wedding Ring, For the People
Increases chances: Mettle of Man, Object, Sole Survivor
DS is neutral. The text has not been changed, but when there is only DS in the game determining obsessions, then it is completely random to not tag one survivor as "has DS".
To me this seems like completely even with 3vs3. And besides that, with such a low amount of perks, I wouldn't say "vast majority" or "Most". Like on three items with two being type A saying "66% is immense". Well, like, nope. On 3 items talking about percentages... doesn't make sense to me.
Literally nobody ever uses the wedding ring, and DS definitely does increase your obsession chance. It doesn't guarantee it(none of them do) but it definitely increases the odds. Soul Guard and For the People are the only meaningful perks that push the Obsession status to somebody else, and even FtP makes you the obsession upon use. That makes a grand total of ONE perk that makes another player the obssesion.

I’m not greeding pallets, I’m seeing a full stun animation and then getting hit. Besides, a stun should not allow a hit regardless. I started as killer and have branched out to survivor after maxing everyone our. Rank 1 in both but pallets are so hit or miss.
Are you getting hit before or after the stun? if it's before or during the stun, it's intended and you need to drop earlier. If it's after, then the killer is playing on mcdonalds wifi

@Jujubeetch said:
Because then the perk would be too strong and can basically ensure a free hit or a down every 60 seconds, especially in maps that have many buildings. Does every new perk released have to be gamebreaking and meta-defining?

I think that's his point. Make the cage move, force the survivors to track it down again, presumably with the timer still ticking down

Literally all the devs need to do is prevent it from stacking with Infantry Belt. You want instadown hatchets? You get one shot. Make it count.

no because pyramid head shouldnt be able to tunnel a survivor from a cage.
when playing him, alls you had to do was hook, tunnel them and then cage them, and then tunnel them again. the survivor had no counterplay if they stepped in torment
and before you say “just dont step in torment” its pretty impossible when he puts it down where you’re looping him.
Run to another loop. If you want your second chance perks, dont be greedy with loops. Getting downed from it is irrelevant as you can just DS/BT your way to safety afterwards. And besides, the cage spawns on the OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE MAP. If you STILL can't beat PH to the cage, it's your own fault for being so terrible. You can even take advantage of it to give the cage a good spawn. Run into the dead zone where all the gens are done, the cage will spawn in the "active zone" where you can get pulled out before PH can turn around. If you get downed in the "active area", then PH has zero reason to leave to begin with.
-
Just give a bubble like an unhook when somebody gets saved, if they didnt add one already with the sound queue fix
-
@Koukdw said:
Removing the aura is necessary otherwise killer would just keep moving to the cage to respawn the survivor
Each time it moves it goes to the other end of the map. If you STILL cant uncage them, thats on you. plus gens will FLY in that time

Please edit it to "soft counters", because the OoO icon still shows the direction where the killer is. Free premonition without a CD.
Generally the survivors that use it to be toxic arent going to be attentive enough to check that, plus a huge chunk of their enjoyment likely comes from seeing the killer's aura lumbering around the other side of the map
-
Demogorgon forever. I just can't get enough of that screech every time I hit a survivor. It's just so damn SATISFYING to roar at a survivor after knocking them to the ground. I have been having a nice amount of fun with PH, tho
-
Just make it turn off if you touch a gen, get fully healed, unhook another survivor, or go into a locker. You arent getting tunneled in any of those situations.
-
Ghostface, Wraith, Pig, T1 Myers, and any other killler/perk/addon that grants Undetectable hard counters OoO, and you can still see them with it. If you can catch them with it, anything that applies Blindness also helps.

Except the whole point is that he does the kill, hence the name killer. Otherwise it's a cop out no matter which way you see it.
Leave or die. The purpose of the EGC is in the name. It ends the game so survivors don't hold the game hostage. If the Killer closes the hatch after a 3k, theres a 75% chance you're ######### anyways, so its a moot point
-
@SlimyTaco said:

is it though? What if, if you can even imagine, a team who dies easily with 1 dude doing all the work just sitting there with hatch closed and both doors spawning next to each other as they usually do in my games?
If the EGC is active, one of two things has happened:
- Everyone is dead and the Killer just closed the hatch, in which case the killer has already effectively won.
- A gate is open, in which case there is literally no reason you should be killed by EGC
-
Because BHVR is incompetent. I can't think of a single other competetive game where the matchmaking is this abyssmal. And that's ignoring the myriad gamebreaking bugs besides that.

New bugs are appearing at a faster rate than the devs can fix. The game still needs a ton of quality of life updates to smoothen and balance gameplay. Also they have to create new chapter every 3 months. And they are currently working at home. Not sure what they can do at this point.
Add 1-2 months to their chapter development cycles? 85% of the community is in agreement that longer time between DLCs would be worth it for not having a buggy shitshow on each Chapter launch
-
It's fine imo. I wish people wouldn't rely on it for unsafe unhooks, but there's not much that can be done for that without completely gutting the perk

That or just make a totem counter part of the baseline overlay just like how many gens left to be completed is shown.
TBH it should be tied to a perk to shake up the meta slightly. You want to safeguard from NOED? Drop a second chance perk.

At least if they get slugged they need to not only spend time getting up, but they also burn their Unbreakable. There needs to be SOME consequence to getting caught, survivors should never, EVER, be 100% safe.

Oh yeah, I forgot - luckily Killers can just run around a Loop without breaking the Pallet, when the Pallet is completely fair to play for both sides.
Or do you want to imply something again? I am not talking about strong Loops here, just before you make something up again.
What are you on about? Bloodlust takes so long to become useful that even if it DOES result in you getting down, you've still wasted almost a minute of the killer's time, assuming they dont break the pallet. and if you're healthy, the bloodlust resets, letting you loop again with impunity.

Sir being stomped requires being able to play the game and lose, not being hooked once and then staring deeply into the killer's eyes while you die.
I lose games, sure, and that's fine.
But camping isn't a strat, it doesn't require skill, and even most 20-17 rank killers won't knowingly stoop that low. So, no, I didn't get "Stomped" and that's not why I'm complaining.
You can't get camped if you dont go down. Either learn to loop or learn to stealth.

How is it supposed to be countered? He revs chainsaw and you AND the person you're trying to help are one-hit-downed.
I don't see where the counterplay is. One way or another it's going to be 3-2 survivors escaping while the rest were camped. You can't do anything once you're hooked so you're forced to suicide or watch until you die. That's not a whole lot of counterplay afforded when all the killer has to do is hook you after yeeting across the map with chainsaw and chasing you down and then stand in place staring at you.
Did... Did you ACTUALLY get caught by a camping Bubba? That's the oldest trick in the book, EVERYBODY assumes a Bubba will be insidious camping
