I wish I could get everything without having to play more than 10 minutes per day. My life and all.
It should be changed to accommodate me.
Not. Do without.
Why is a cash grab from casuals bad? Are they a victim class in the oppression Olympics?
Casuals come in dead last in all aspects of life. If you insist on being casual then accept others with more dedication come out ahead. Welcome to a meritocracy.
Jesus chill a little my dude, no reason too be that dramatic. All I'm saying is that casual players should have the same chance too get all the rewards as a hardcore player.

@Fibijean said:
It depends what you mean by casual. If you mean people who start up the game once a week and play a couple of matches, I don't think it's really reasonable to expect that people like that ought to be able to max out The Rift.
100 hours in 70 days is really not an extraordinary amount, and is quite a reasonable goal in my mind for rewarding players who are reasonably well-invested in the game. It only becomes an issue at the point where it turns out that the time needed in practice is far more than the estimated 100 hours.
Casual IMO is someone who plays for 1-2 hours a day, every few days. I use too do this when I use too play Fortnite, and I could get too that max level of the battle pass with just this. It was close, but I could make it. I can't see someone doing the same with DBD.

It really is a different world.
People always say "play both so you can see both sides", there is some merit to that. I feel like I can understand some of the survivor rage a bit better. I can see firsthand how annoying camping is, how frustrating bad/selfish teammates are, and why certain killers suck to face.
It's interesting how my attitude changes. As killer, I am SO SICK OF LOOPING AND PALLETS. It's not fun to run in circles around waist-high obstacles or eat pallet after pallet after pallet. As survivor, I feel like a boss every time I loop the killer for more than a few seconds. My attitude about pallets goes from "I hate these and wish they were removed" to "TASTE THE WOOD!"
I also find it much more relaxing and enjoyable to play, for the most part. Doing gens and totems is downright peaceful compared to the stress of "must be hunting every moment, can't waste a single second". The most frustrating thing, honestly, is teammates who DC at the drop of a hat. Knowing the game will be that much harder, the dread of a slow attrition loss.
I also get why survivors hate NOED so much now. Escaping is worth so many BP, and survivor side is definitely short on those compared to killer (why?), so doing everything right, risking death multiple times to rescue teammates and do gens right under a killer's nose, just to be tagged and insta-downed right at the end is... pretty lame, I have to say.
I played about half a dozen games of survivor, solo, only escaped once. Still had a lot of fun, though. Rank 19-20.
Played 1 game of killer afterward. Stressful, annoying. First time I've ever DCed in a match. Rank 7. I have no desire to go back and play until rank reset. Even then, I'm not sure.
While I feel like I'm beginning to run out of steam for this game in general, I definitely had way more fun playing survivor than killer. I'm not ready to declare myself a survivor main just yet, but it's nice to be on the other side of the pallet for a change.
Anyone who got through the wall of text and has advice for a newbie survivor is welcome to share it. I've been playing David King so far, mostly for WGLF and Dead Hard.
I got too "TASTE THE WOOD" and laughed my ass off. That was not good phrasing xD
It really is a different world. I don't usually play survivor since randoms press all of my anger buttons, but I do enjoy playing survivor from time too time.
-
I feel it would be a bit too strong when paired with the Coxcombed Clapper. Honestly a better buff would be too let him uncloak faster, so survivors can't simply run too a pallet unless they have Sprint Burst.

I honestly don't like BttlePasses, cause everything you get from them will always have the other players too -> so you (or me personally) won't feel 'special' when owning the skin, item or whatever. I don't know, when I played Fortnite or now am playing Apex the skins from these passes always feel meh cause everyone has them - that's why I don't buy these passes, I play DBD because I enjoy playing the game, I enjoyed it even when survivors had only their base outfits, soo yeah....I rather play, earn shards and buy myself some outfit or eventually buy an outfit for auric cells.
A to the casual players...I can play DBD for like hour or two a day which is fine to me, BUT during this time I can play like 3 matches because why? BECAUSE THE GOD DAMN MATCHMAKING!!! I'm just literally waiting for a match right now...- 10minutes passed and still no game found...THANK U SO MUCH for forcing players play a game during which they die by waiting
I don't personally like them either because they always tell me "we need more money, so fall into our trap and give us money," but BHVR's was looking good until I learned it's even worse then things like Fortnite, because at least in those games you have a chance at earning everything by being casual.

@PyroDude said:
If you have doubts you can finish it just play the free route and if you think the rewards you have reached are worth 1000 cells buy it.
That doesn't really work because the core issue is still there. If someone is a casual player, and wants the cosmetics, they will need too put some serious time in, which they simply may not be able to do for multiple reasons. It's not fair they aren't given at least a chance simply because Life is more important.

If the the will was there with the developers and Scott, then it would be added. It's just a matter of that. If the community likes it or not is irrelevant. They can argue, but it doesn't really matter.
If no one buys it then it would absolutely matter. I would buy it, but if the majority of the community wouldn't buy it then they wouldn't make it.

THe only way I'd see FNaF working is if they used Springtrap or the Nightmares. That's it. Springtrap is essentially a robot encased zombie murdering their way through the world, while the Nightmares just look horrifying to those that gaze upon them.
Yea, but good luck ever getting the community too agree on adding FNaF too Dead By daylight. The arguing would be legendary.
-
yea, i was quite sad too see that, yet again, BHVR see's the community as dollar signs instead of actual people with brains. I actually was gonna buy the battle pass since it seemed like a good deal, but because of the fact you can't even get everything unless you pay up is just pathetic.
BHVR honestly thinks we are sheep, and I'll enjoy the day a game comes out that rivals DBD so BHVR can stop being a corrupt monopoly and actually care about the players.
-
I remember, made me quit being a killer because of how op it was. Dev's failed the community thinking that was an ok perk too be released, and they only released it for boosted sales early on.
-
@Theoretical_Heart said:
Exactly. NO ONE NOT ONE, literally zero average/casual players will be able to finish this thing.
I want to buy it BHVR but you have to make it achievable.
100+ hrs and that assuming you have skill to complete EVERY single challenge. Assuming you can complete 1 per match (you can't btw0.
It's designed intentionally to cheat you. To make sure you cannot finish the rift without spending money to skip parts.
Or, you could simply learn the game and unlock them normally. I hate when devs balance for the majority instead of the top players who have much more knowledge about the game. My time on the PTB, I got pretty far into both the archives and the battle pass, plus they are both available for an entire month, which is more then enough time for casual players too get everything.
-
I like the skin, but i feel she has way too many skins already for someone who just came out a few months ago. Where is the Adam Francis love BHVR.

@Mochan said:
You can.
And you I suppose are the typical killer main who thinks he's experienced, but blames all his failures on the game rather his actual lack of skills.
Unless you spent hundreds of hours mastering every single killer in the game, you won't stand a chance against optimal survivors in red ranks as someone like Legion, Wraith, or Bubba.
OP is kinda rambling, but his point does stand that the game is very unbalanced when it comes too killer strength. Weak killers need buffs, but they can still also be good for new players too learn. I don't know why someone like Wraith can't be both.

Agreed @BunnyTheHutt
A naked Terminator with just metal skin could easily just use his hand as his normal attack.
His power however would require some thought. I am sure the devs could do it.
His power is a gun. he pulls out the glock 15 and shoots that immersed claudette that does nothing but hides in the cornor.

I mean, you immediately had 1 survivor less to deal with. Idk why you complain, having a 3v1 situation with 5 gens is ez pz to deal with, even without perks
That doesn't mean its ok what the survivor did. It's clear and blatent exploitation too ruin someone's day.
My suggestion is be careful on how many Obsession perks you take, and report those exploiting it. Because otherwise, even if it isn't a SWF, if someone is being an a-hole then they can leave and you'll be out of perks unless you want too eat a DS.

I'm kinda surprised how narrow minded a few points are here. "Terminator isn't horror therefore it wouldn't fit like other characters do"
First of all I'm talking about Sarah Connor in specific. Not the actual terminator with guns and all. I get how guns don't fit dbd but I never said that they are needed if Sarah Connor or a terminator chapter happened.
I'm honestly sick and tired of some of you creating your own made up guidelines on what is or isn't allowed to be a chapter.
Terminator is sci fi horror. Alien is sci fi horror, Stranger Things is sci fi horror The Terminator isn't suddenly something irrelevant and incompatible to dbd because you said so.
This. Plus who said the Terminator needed a gun anyway? It could use a metal stick and be just as deadly as with a gun.
I find a Terminator Chapter too be really cool idea. Sarah or John as a survivor, and the T-800 as the killer, it would fit DBD so well. The Entity has taken children before, so a death robot is really not much of a stretch.

i can't wait too see the cosplays from this halloween. I know a lot of people rag on cosplayers for being legion since it's easy, but all I see is an easy way too start a cosplay career.
-
I mean, let's be realistic here, how often are you actually going too be staying as EW1 Myers if you are not going Mirror Build? I understand what you are saying, but I feel it really isn't that much of a change.
I feel they do it so buffing/nerfing killers is easier if they all have some similarity. All stealth Killers having Undetectable makes it easier too buff/nerf if they are over/under performing since they now all have a base too start looking at. I'm hoping it means that they'll start looking at stealth killers more, but probably not.

Limited? They can create original characters forever. If you think we ars even close to tapping out of horror you don't know many horror movies. Hellraiser, Friday the 13th, American Horror Story, American Psycho, Hellfest, Hatchet, Psycho, Child's Play, Candyman, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, IT, The Shining, Krampus, Leprechaun, the Thing, Killer Klowns from OuterSpace, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Sleepaway Camp... and more
The there are all the creatures from Crypt TV on YouTube
And Urban Legends like Bloody Mary
And Creepypasta like the Rake and Slenderman
And of course video games
The Horror genre is so deep that tapping into action movies is completely stupid.
I disagree. I find there too be incredible potential in other genre's. Even horror movies like Nightmare or Friday or Chucky eventually change into different genre's, Chucky and Freddy especially. Hell, even Scream was never truly horror, since it was always just a spoof on horror movie tropes and it never went full on horror IMO.
And, IMO, the first Terminator was pretty scary as a kid. The thought of an unstoppable robot from the future chasing you down too kill you is pretty scary.

Billy's charge mechanic would be a direct nerf for Bubba's chainsaw.
I disagree. I believe giving it the same charge mechanic would benefit Bubba, as right now, just holding it is usually detrimental since it's so easy too mind game him with his current chainsaw.

The day a non horror franchise is used I'm out. The game is a love letter to horror movies. Sorry but anyone wanting non horror characters in DBD doesn't get it.
A non horror character coming in is sign the game is dead and is desperately trying to get non horror fans.
Putting a Terminator character in DBD would be bullshit.
I disagree. The game is a love letter too horror, yes, but that doesn't mean it can't have other characters in it. I find people who only want horror characters in DBD too be closed minded since there are tons of characters in film that would work so well in DBD, and too exclude them solely because they aren't horror is silly.
There's only so many horror characters that can be added, and too limit yourself that much would be silly and not smart. I say let anything in long as it fits the killer/survivor role. It's not like the game itself is really scary.
-
Meh, I think Mori's need too simply be only used on the final hook, that way you cant just tunnel people until they die, but mori's don't feel like a waste of time on all sides.

Honestly, just fix totem spots and the perk just becomes better to run and doesn't get cleansed in 10 seconds. For real.
Absolutely. Survivors should not be allowed too spawn on top of ruin or any other hex perk, nor should hex perks be allowed too spawn next too a gen. Finding the totem should feel like an actual hunt, not just pure luck if it lives for 10 seconds.

I think by now Freddy is the one of the best killers in the game, he simply got all important powers of other good m1 killer's, he got map pressure, loop counters, mindgame potential, and stealth potential. Is Freddy is number 5 in killer tier list? In my opinion - yes, what is yours?
My top 5 are:
1: Spirit (after Nurse nerf)
2: Nurse
3: Billy
4: Freddy
5: Huntress
Hag is not top 5 simply because she's so hard countered by flashlights. if flashlights didn't end her whole career she would be top 5.
-
@Theoretical_Heart said:
Why? Terminator isn't horror. If you'd have said Ellen Ripley from Alien or even Dutch from Predator it would be more realistic.
If it's a license it will be Pennywise most likely. But, the next chapter is probably an original chapter.
However there are still tons of horror icons to pull from.
+Hellraiser (Pinhead & Kirstie)
+Friday the 13th (Jason & Tommy)
+31 (Doomhead)
+3 From Hell (Spaulding/Otis/Baby)
+Candyman (Candyman)
+Universal Monsters (Dracula/Frankenstein/Wolfman)
+American Psycho (Patrick Bateman)
+Psycho/Bates Motel (Norman/Norma)
+The Purge (Any Random Purge Participant)
+Resident Evil (Nemesis & Jill Valentine)
+Five Night's at Freddy's
And of course they can do original content forever.
I can't see a character from FNAF actually working in this universe, but I want it because it would turn the forums into a battle field and I would love too see that.
As for Terminator, it would still work well. I would crap myself if I saw a t-800 bearing down on me. IDK what his power would be, but I could easily see a killer +survivor combo being made from Terminator movies. And just because a movie isn't horror doesn't mean it can't be used for a chapter.
-
Honestly Leatherface just needs a straight up rework on all levels, addons and base. Even if you buffed him he would still be a weak killer because his power base is incredibly weak. If I had too buff something, it's movement speed when charging, and too make the charge act like charging with Billy.
-
Why not just play a different killer if you want bloodpoints? Demogorgon is amazing at racking in bloodpoints, and Wraith is as well. I agree that some killers really lack good bp gains in deviousness, especially Pig, but if I want bloodpoints I would play a killer who gets lots of them.
-
I don't main survivors because they are all the same, but most of my perks are on Meg, so shes the one I play the most.
For killer it was Freddy. Nightmare on Elm Street has always been my fav movie, so even when it was bad old Freddy I still mained him.
-
@8obot1c said:
If you guys want to boost solo play then suggest having a 5th perk slot. it will work like this, you can equip a perk in the 5th perk slot, but if a survivor joins your party or you join there's it will disappear. Them having a 5th perk slot will only help them, not a whole team (Unless you use meta perks, but there is only like 4). Would having a 5th perk slot work out for solo que?
That would make solo que broken af. If you get into a game with 4 solo que's, they would all have 5 perks and you would only have 4 as killer. Solo que is only hard because you are at the mercy of randoms, but adding a 5th perk slot would not help with this.

Currently its just too easy to use, you can cover the distance to a window or pallet without a way to counterplay it.
shortening the iframes would make the distance management and timing much more stringent, it's a buff just like how the rework buffed legion and nurse.
That's what the content creators tell me, so I just thought of a buff myself.
Only skilled survivors will be able to use it effectively so that means its a buff.
There is counterplay, it's called "bait them into using it, then hit them afterwards" Dead Hard makes you a free target, and theres nothing the survivor can do. It's in a pretty balanced spot atm, so I don't think it needs changes.

I mean, most of us had nothing too do for those 2 weeks, which is why most people got it done in 2-3 days, but I agree that the event should be 2 weeks. Not every can play the game long enough too get the cosmetics they want, and it's unfair for them too pay because of things like jobs and such.

How does that make sense.
What if you have 2 swf in a game.
People have said this countless times, and I will say it again for them. Stop assuming that you got rolled in a game by a swf. Solo Qrs exist, and I say they are the vast majority.
If you wanna slow gen progress. I suggest you get Ruin and/or Dying Light. Pop goes the Weasel would be good for this as well.
Imo it's the silliest thing to punish people for wanting to play with a friend. The matchmaking already does this, Good Killers don't need this at all.
This. A better solution would simply be too have two seperate modes for Quick Match and Ranked. Have 3-4 man SWF in quick match, and only have 2 man SWF in Ranked. That way the gap between solo and SWF is a lot closer then with 4 man SWF.
-
My audio is on, yes. Because breaking things like pallets or gens come in perfectly.

100% agree. Battle Passes set a bad standard that I never liked, and I actually like the battle pass BHVR has, but my fear is that it's a slippery slope down into a bad money grind.

this is what the 4th or 5th thread ive had to point out this . The game while not on sale is $20 , not 30 , the dlc's for every killer and survivor without a sale is less then $90 . You keep looking at the dlc page on steam and quoting the 113 total and you seem to forget there are cosmetic only dlc's . Next people are also seeming to forget that this has been content from over a 3 year period . So coming into a game after 3 year you should expect it to cost a bit if you "want" everything . This is also assuming you are complaining about the price and not smart enough to wait for a sale that would effectively take the whole thing down to around $60 , which would average out to be about the same price as a console game new , and just happened 2 weeks ago .
Trust me I jump down BVHR's throat when I feel its called for . But dont tell people the game is just a money sink and everything should be free . If the devs made everything free you know what would happen , the game would die . Why ? Because they would only have new player sales to keep it alve and the longer that time goes on the smaller and smaller those sales are . You can say well they have cosmetics , but in essence that is exactly what you are complaining about rift premium is cosmetics . Plus there is also the fact that just because they make something doesn't mean people are going to be buying it .
chill my dude.
A: It is 30$ on console.
B: it is over 100 dollars if you add all chapters and paragraphs together.
C: I don't want everything too be free, but adding in a battle pass to an already expensive game is just bad taste IMO. Yes, it is all cosmetics, but it sets a standard that I don't like and could easily spiral out of control. I actually quite like the battle pass and what it offers, but that doesn't mean it can't lead down a bad rabbit hole.
D: Sales are erratic and the Shrine hasn't had Ruin or BBQ for a long time until recently. Using it as a sole provider for perks if you aren't buying DLC is not viable in the long run.
-
IMO her addons need a looking at. I find Spirit has the same problem as Nurse, where base is very fun and balanced and strong, but once you use addons she gets way too strong and unfun. activation charge time, movement speed, and cooldown addons make fighting Spirit more of a luck based ordeal then actual skill.

Topic aside, Iron Will is just a really good perk, which I would recommend using, despite it being not in meta. Can't count times it saved my ass, when I was juking the killer, or even making him think I have ran to the other gate, which let me open the one I was nearby.
Also you don't need SC, because it is less important to stay healthy, when you can just hide and juke.
Iron Will is overrated IMO. If it's a good killer who isn't Spirit they can just follow the blood, scratch marks, or has game knowledge and simply knows better.

Facts. i don't hate base Spirit, but once you start putting addons on her she just becomes the most unfun thing too play against as survivor. I shouldn't have too run Iron Will every match for the off chance I run into her.
